I adore making and gifting things, but nothing bums me out quicker than a person who passively just goes "okay," to my ideas about what I'm making them - it can send the message that they won't like it, or that they don't care, even if they're happy about my offering. The back-and-forth feedback is a great way to make sure that you are being gifted something that was truly worth the time, effort, expertise, and money that will inevitably go into the gift!

I know it's really hard to be an active participant, believe me, I'm an anxious ball of horror, but it will only do good for both parties to interact in this situation. thinking abt the kon, bart, and cass (cain) trio again. guys who just never had any semblance of a childhood... i want them to go on a little adventure together. they're just like "we've never done kid stuff let's go be silly for a day!!!" and then kon realizes that out of the three of them, he's gonna be stuck being the closest thing they've got to impulse (haha) control. cass and bart would enable each other about all sorts of things and i need them to get up to shenanigans.

like, i need cass to steal one of bruce's cards so they can go to a theme park together. they're getting photos and kon calls cass "bat-babe" and she calls him "super-stud" and bart's like "i need one of these nicknames too hello??" and cass thinks really hard and goes "imp-ass?" and kon loses his shit. bart's like "that just sounds like impasse. no thanks." and kon looks at cass and says "imp passes," and then breaks into a gigglefit again. bart complains all of the roller coasters go too slow. bart and kon centrifuge poor cass on the teacup ride. she nearly throws up as soon as they get off and then demands to go again. bart challenges her to a candy eating contest and kon's like NO!!!!!!! DO NOT ACCEPT!!!!!!!! HES A SPEEDSTER!!!! so of course cass accepts. and then makes herself sick. bart's still impressed by how fast she can shove candy in her mouth for someone with no superspeed at all though.

also it would be fun if they stumbled upon a murder mystery or something in this theme park. i mean they would be like oh this is fucked up, but i would see it as enrichment in their enclosure or whatever. let cass be a noir detective with her two extremely op sillies as backup. idk. the vibes. you get me??

I wanted to document my homemade gifts for loved ones again this year! Top three are applique tapestries I made for 3 childhood friends, bottom left is a cross stitch I made for my partner's mom, and bottom middle/right are macrame tapestries (made identical ones for my mom and aunt)

being a knitter/crocheter with a grudge against family members (it's justified. they are snobby, classist, have absolutely zero filter in a very negative way and will sidestep apologizing if you call them on it) is like. okay yep. you're getting a cardigan, you're getting a piece of wall art and some scrunchies. you're getting scrunchies and slippers, you're getting a very intricately designed hat or a pair of colorwork socks, and you? you are getting dishcloths in colors I choose. no heirloom blanket, pillow covers, ornaments or sweaters for you fuckers.

They're Here! *jumping for joy* I've been buzzing with excitement ever since chaosfay has been posting WIPs of the project, and now they're mine!

I commissioned @anotherdayforchaosfay (@creations-by-chaosfay, link to her Kofi) for placemats, table runner, and coasters. As my family eats a lot of food that tend to stain *badly*, it's hard to find nice looking placemats that also don't look terrible when the inevitable kimchi liquid stains all over them. The ones we have were serviceable, but ugly.

But, oh, these are so pretty, and so soft!

The coasters are *very* nice, and I love that I'll be able to use the table runner as a hot pad!

Finally finished the Tamagotchi coasters! If I make something like this again I'll have to be careful to be more deliberate on how pixelart translates into knitting and really plan ahead for it. Also do some sort of border, these are just wide enough for a cup but only just.

Also now that I'm looking at the pictures, I was rowing out on the last two I knit (did most of the work for the last two today and yesterday). Gonna have to watch out for that :/
