Day 2! The home domain!

From the beginning, I wanted to make a cleric domain for this day, even though cleric already has a bazillion subclasses.

So first, I thought about what greek god has a domain that is not represented among the current clerics. And I eventually wandered to Hestia. While Fire domain is a thing (I think, as I said, there are approximately a thousand cleric subclasses, I don't know them all by memory) the Home part is not represented among a domain.

I wanted this to be a very support-focused subclass, and I think I did that pretty well.

Her character's name is Stella. She is a grave cleric and gothic, but she is also very outgoing. And I'm in awe of her white freckles on blue skin. That color combination is awesome! It was a pleasure to draw such a beauty

I just finished making D&D spellbooks for myself and my DM! The cleric spell list is inside :) Both books are hand-bound.

The books turned out to be the perfect travel-size (4.5"x6"x1.5"). Pen for scale:

I designed the card layout myself, since I didn't love the ones I was seeing online. The pages are cardstock and I dyed them with coffee, baked them in the oven, and then individually ironed each page to have the right amount of waviness. This was the most painful and time-consuming part of the process lmao. Before ironing, the books were around 5 inches thick instead of 1.5", so it was definitely worth it!

The binding is hand-sewn and reinforced with fabric and glue (Elmer's glue is surprisingly durable AND acid free!!). For the covers, I used a red, textured scale fabric for a dragon leather look (thank god for Michaels coupons) and a hell of a lot of Gorilla fabric glue to adhere it to the chipboard, I also made sure that the darkest area lined up with the spine and faded out to a lighter red on the front and back.

My favorite detail is probably the black-and-gold ribbon with a leaf pattern, since it reminds me of medieval manuscripts and was a lucky find - I had exactly enough for the two books, not an inch extra. It's even got bits of red to match the cover!

The Exorcist is a variant Ceric subclass that slightly modifies the original base cleric. Based around summoning, helpful marks for allies, and baleful sigils against enemies, the Exorcist is modeled after a mixing of the western exorcist and an exorcist from traditional Japanese folklore and myth. They derive their power through the study of spells like wizards in addition to inner spiritual cultivation and personal discipline like monks. Finally, exorcists can draw power from extraplanar entities they have defeated or bind them to their will. Additionally, this subclass allows for choosing the spellcasting ability modifier: wisdom, intelligence, or charisma, depending on the kind of exorcist that one wants to play!
