What You Need to Know About the Recovery Process After Clavicle Fracture Treatment
Clavicle fracture treatment can be challenging, but understanding the process helps ensure a smoother journey to full recovery. The clavicle, or collarbone, is a crucial bone in the shoulder that supports arm movement. When it's fractured, proper treatment and recovery are key to regaining strength and mobility.
Initial Care and Healing Time
Immediately after treatment, whether surgical or non-surgical, your doctor will advise you to wear a sling or brace to keep the arm still and allow the bone to heal. If surgery is required, a metal plate or screws may be used to stabilize the bone. In most cases, the initial healing phase lasts around 6-8 weeks, but this varies depending on the severity of the fracture.
Pain Management: During recovery, you may experience some pain or discomfort, especially in the first few weeks. Your doctor will recommend pain medications or over-the-counter options to manage this. Cold packs can also help reduce swelling and inflammation around the fracture site.
Physical Therapy and Strengthening: Once the bone starts healing, your doctor will likely recommend physical therapy. This phase is critical for restoring movement and strength. Therapy may begin with gentle exercises to improve flexibility, and gradually progress to strengthening exercises to help you regain full shoulder function.
Avoiding Re-injury: As the bone heals, it’s important to avoid putting too much strain on the shoulder too soon. Follow your doctor’s advice on activity restrictions and gradually return to normal movements as your strength improves. It can take several months for the shoulder to fully heal, so patience is essential. If you or your loved one facing any problem in shoulder, then Consult with an arthroscopy specialist in Geetanjali chowk, 440018 Nagpur is crucial for effective clavicle fracture recovery. Mezzo - 09 - Silent Shout
Pairing: mshenko | Rating: M Tags: Canon-typical violence, trauma, dealing with your problems poorly, body autonomy struggles Summary: The twists and turns of ME2, through the eyes of everyone but Commander Shepard. Chapter Summary: Krogan, shackled AI, and collectors, oh my! AKA, I’m not sorry. Not even a little bit. Thank you to @sinvraal for betaing!
Chapter 9: Silent Shout | Read on Ao3
24 November, 2185, Eagle Nebula, Imir System, Korlus Orbit, Normandy SR-2
“I’m fine.”
Karin bites her tongue as Shepard glares up at the ring of onlookers arguing quite vehemently to the contrary. He sits perched on a medical bed, waiting rather impatiently for her to verify the bone knitter has successfully mended the fractured shoulder, broken clavicle, and fractured ribs. She had to reprogram it twice to accommodate for the greater bone density Cerberus gifted him.
Of course, once that had been sorted she’d had to deal with the lacerations earned from an exploding YMIR mech. And yet the hardest part of it all wasn’t the treatment – it was keeping him still and on the table. She’s almost thankful for the presence of Taylor, Lawson, and Garrus. They hover around the biobed like a perimeter fence. She is very thankful, however, they didn’t invite the krogan currently stored in a tank down in the cargo hold.
Lawson likely doesn’t feel thankful. Poor thing is getting a master class in how difficult it is to converse with Shepard when he isn’t interested in listening.
“Shepard, if the implant is malfunctioning—”
“I said I’m fine.”
“You collapsed in the middle of a mission.”
Karin almost pities her. Can’t be easy to learn your heroic medical marvel comes with as many vexations as he does heroic commendations.
Taylor scowls, opening his mouth, then shutting it again with an irritated shake of his head before taking a few steps away from the others. The questionable conclusion to the Korlus mission has done nothing to dissipate the thundercloud that had descended upon him after Lawson took his place on the ground team.
But right now, Taylor is not her concern. Shepard is.
Garrus hums from the spot he staked out beside Shepard’s bed, rather strategically between Shepard and the medbay door. “Call me crazy, but it might have to do with the spontaneous teleporting.”
The furrows in Lawson’s brow deepen. “People don’t teleport. That isn’t how biotics work.”
“Of course I didn’t teleport.”
“Then what happened?” Taylor asks, in the clipped tones of someone diligently removing the barbs from each word before they’re uttered.
Shepard rolls the freshly mended shoulder, grimacing and putting a hand to his ribs. “Let me worry about it.”
Hardly. Karin gets her scanner back out. Surely the ossification process on that last cycle had been sufficient. Then again, Shepard has always had an oddly low tolerance for bone knitters.
“You were the bullet,” Garrus says, a low rumble in his subvocals. They all turn to stare at him. His brow plates shift. “Look, I don’t know how any of it works. But I know how my gun works. Shepard didn’t fire a projectile. He didn’t make someone else a projectile. He was the projectile.”
For several seconds, the only sound in the room is the hum of the scanner. It chirps the results. Bone knitter cycle was indeed successful.
Lawson turns back to Shepard, fingers to her chin, gears turning. “How?”
“I said don’t worry about it.”

Who Will You Help Today? - Nouran and her family
I've decided that, starting today, I will post a resource to help palestinians.
Nouran and her family need help to get major surgeries for their injuries.
"- My brother lost his right eye and ear, and suffered a skull fracture. Shrapnel has destroyed his right ear canal, and he’s completely deaf on that side. After nearly a month, he underwent eye enucleation surgery (where the eyeball is removed) to prevent further damage and infection.
- I lost my right eye as well, and last week I got the same surgery as my brother. I also suffered major soft tissue trauma to my forehead and scalp. Twenty days after we arrived to the hospital, I was finally able to get X-rays done (posted above) which revealed fractures to my clavicle, my left hand (meaning I can no longer draw), and shrapnel/debris in my nasal cavity (which has recently thankfully been surgically removed). The bones have begun to heal in the wrong places due to delayed treatment and thus need more intensive surgeries to be fixed. My right thumb has been paralyzed and needs physical therapy, meaning I can’t really use either of my hands. Finally, I was left with a large open wound on my cheek for weeks which meant that I couldn’t drink water without some of it spilling out through the hole.
- My dad has completely lost his right calf muscle and can no longer walk without support. He can’t get surgery to transplant tissue from other parts of his body to his calf right now because there are no doctors here that know how to give epidural anaesthesia.
- My mom has an untreated broken jaw and can no longer eat solid food. In the time since she was injured, she has lost over 14kg."
She currently needs around €50,000 more

Johnny's right shoulder hit the studio door when he was filming content on the 11th and he was moved immediately to the hospital for thorough examination and the result is his clavicle/collarbone is fractured and he has to wear brace and minimize his movement until he recovered
So for the time being, Johnny's schedules is all postponed and he'll focus on his treatment and recovery, and and resumption of schedule will be informed later.

Jiaoqiu - Muse Information
In case you missed Jiaoqiu's 'Follow-Up' Medical Report I suggest you give it a read; I'm sure most Jiaoqiu muses follow it to some extent until more information is released about his recovery.
NOTE: This is MY interpretation of Jiaoqiu's blindness. You do not have to agree with it... since I do not personally endure visual blindness of any kind ~ I will never claim to be an expert or question how other muses handle blindness!
Specifics of his blindness:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bc583178d1452c7a5fd819a49e1e8c73/facdb98b10dd51df-1f/s100x200/f02f566db663c215308bf0ac2066cdef3a6ef5f6.jpg)
Jiaoqiu has the 'WET' version of Macular Degeneration in both eyes caused by the Tumbledust poison he had consumed, the severity/progression within his system was so intense in a short time frame that the condition skipped from 'Dry' to 'Wet' by the time medical professionals attempted to reverse the damage. Due to his bodies reduced ability to coagulate blood he regularly receives treatment specifically focusing on maintaining the blood vessels in his eyes to minimize the impact to the integrity of his vision!
He is trying to remain logical and does not expect to EVER regain the FULL visual prowess that a Foxian has - or what his vision strength was previously. instead Jiaoqiu only wishes to have 'clear enough' vision to maintain eye contact with an individual without his mind hyper focusing on the dark spot in his field of view OR turning his head in an attempt to trick his own eye sight; similar to how a persons nose is always visible but our eyes choose to ignore it.
How Jiaoqiu handles recovery:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3210e37a8aae4ec65353ce478cc5b1d5/facdb98b10dd51df-52/s100x200/9c20d1e6e0c3dc7a00e3d4c00a2cff08ddd4b62a.jpg)
Jiaoqiu has a fractured clavicle ( broken collarbone ) and it is monitored fairly regularly to make sure the 'break' doesn't pierce blood vessels that would lead to internal bleeding due to his reduced capacity to coagulate blood! DO NOT TOUCH HIS RIGHT SHOULDER while his arm is in a sling ~ once the arm is out of the sling then that is the lowest risk he has to avoid further injury.
After the news of his blindness had been figured out by Feixiao, also Moze who was present at the time of the conversation, Jiaoqiu returned to the doctors to request his eyes be bandaged during the day - as even while having his eyes closed the brightness was too great that led to headaches/migraines. He takes them off at night but rarely goes outdoors as Jiaoqiu prefers the subtle light from a lamp to help his eyes adjust to low intensity light for several months after his original diagnosis of being legally blind.
PLEASE DO NOT INTERACT WITH JIAOQIU If your muse is touch repulsed in any manner ~ his method of 'vision' while wearing bandages mostly during the day, is TOUCH and it is fairly important to him - he knows 'no' means 'no' so he won't touch without permission. Jiaoqiu never wants to make anyone uncomfortable/flinch when he attempts to map/memorize someone's face. Jiaoqiu will always request verbally to touch someone's face EVEN going as far as to hold up his hand to allow the person to guide it to a place upon their face that is comfortable for them. In return, Jiaoqiu wishes others will do the same for him, if you intend to touch him, please clearly ask before touching as if he is suddenly touched/grabbed that is a recipe for a full blown panic/anxiety attack that takes him some time to calm down from.
#blog: muse information ( jiaoqiu )#muse: jiaoqiu#long post tw#blog: important information#tj: *-slowly slides this here-* thank you to all my mutuals who helped me test jiaoqiu out on discord. you helped me a lot! <3

Leo's injuries in my fic I'm making
Over 35 injuries (my boy's going through it 😞)
*All recovery times will be less than stated, due to Leo’s mutant healing factor.
Ruptured eardrum. Will heal within 3 - 6 weeks. Take antibiotics + ear drops.
2. Scrapes on feet.
3. Bruising on tailbone + lower back. Recovery time: 4 - 6 weeks.
4. Skidded knees.
5. Bloody nose.
6. Bruised face.
7. Scratched arms, legs, hand, knees, and plastron.
8. Scraped Shell + Arms.
9. Broken Ankle (Lateral malleolus fracture). This is the most common type of ankle fracture. It is a break of the lateral malleolus, the knobby bump on the outside of the ankle (in the lower portion of the fibula). Recovery time: 8 weeks. Boot for the last 5.
10. Cuts and scrapes on the left side of the body, bruising from around there.
11. Broken ribs on his left. Recovery time: 6+ weeks.
12. Bruising surrounding said ribs.
13. Mild bruising and scratching on shoulder.
14. Black eye.
15. Dented top-middle shell.
16. Concussion from whiplash.
17. Shell punctures from claws and surrounding cracks.
18. Broken shell. Recovery time: 1+ yrs. Drill small screws into the shell on either side of the fracture and then wrap wire around the screws, tightening the shell down almost like opposing tissue during suturing. Apply fiberglass patch and resin. Wrap with sterile gauze to help stabilize any broken shell pieces that may be present.
19. Fractured clavicle (collarbone). Recovery time: 6 - 8 weeks. Sling.
20. Fractured temporal skull. Recovery time: 5 - 7 weeks.
21. Broken femur (thighbone). Recovery time: 4 - 6 months.
22. Punctured lung. Recovery time: 6 - 8 weeks.
23. Neck bruising.
24. VERY skinned knees and lower legs.
25. Back of arms + shell got cut by claws.
26. Broken humerus (upper arm bone). Recovery time: 4+ months. Needs temporary splint extending from the shoulder to the forearm and holding the elbow bent at 90 degrees.
27. Broken scapula (shoulder blade). Recovery time: 6-12 weeks. Needs short-term immobilization along with motion exercises to prevent adhesive capsulitis, also called frozen shoulder.
28. Fractured vertebrae. Recovery time: 3+ months. Would need a brace, but with his shell, it won't happen.
29. Fractured orbital bone (eye socket). Recovery time: 3+ weeks.
30. Pneumothorax (collapsed lung). Recovery time: 1 - 3 weeks. Needs chest tube (but how will THAT work?).
31. Bruised liver (minor). Recovery time: 1 - 2 weeks.
32. Stomach bleed. Will lead to vomiting blood, yay.
33. Fractured sternum (breast bone). Recovery time: 6 weeks. Sternal injuries can usually be treated conservatively involving rest, restrictions of activities and painkillers, or occasionally through some form of intervention including targeted physical therapy.
34. Mild brain bleed. Recovery time: 6+ months. Surgery needed to drain blood from the brain Draining the fluid that surrounds the brain creates room for the hematoma to expand without damaging brain cells. Drugs are used to control blood pressure, seizures or headaches. Burr hole surgery is the main treatment for subdural hematomas that develop a few days or weeks after a minor head injury (chronic subdural hematomas). During the procedure, one or more small holes (the size of dimes) are drilled in the skull and a flexible rubber tube is inserted to drain the hematoma. Will drain within 2 - 3 days.
35. Second degree burns on his front. Recovery time: 1 - 3 weeks. Treat with antibiotic cream and wrap if the skin is raw, if the blisters open, or if there is risk of infection.
Homeboy will also deal with some other stuff, see my other post about it.

Understanding Shoulder Arthritis: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment Options
Shoulder arthritis is a degenerative condition that affects one of the most critical joints in the human body. As the name suggests, it primarily causes pain, stiffness, and a reduced range of motion in the shoulder, making everyday activities challenging. This article dives deep into the condition, exploring its symptoms, causes, and the available treatment options.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ab51a34ca249bc45873036f9ff89f831/8957dd3cd4bf7839-cc/s400x600/a5188f277579734a654692cc9734f6575caf17f6.jpg)
What is Shoulder Arthritis?
Shoulder arthritis refers to the inflammation or wear-and-tear of the shoulder joint. The shoulder is composed of two main joints:
Glenohumeral Joint: Where the ball of the upper arm bone (humerus) meets the socket of the shoulder blade (scapula).
Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint: Where the clavicle (collarbone) meets the highest point of the scapula (acromion).
Arthritis can affect either of these joints, leading to symptoms like pain and stiffness. The condition progresses gradually, with cartilage degeneration being a primary cause.
Types of Shoulder Arthritis
Osteoarthritis (OA): Commonly referred to as "wear-and-tear arthritis," OA occurs due to the gradual degeneration of cartilage, leading to bone-on-bone contact.
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA): An autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system attacks the joint lining, causing inflammation and joint damage.
Post-Traumatic Arthritis: This develops after a shoulder injury, such as a fracture or dislocation, that damages the cartilage.
Rotator Cuff Arthropathy: Occurs when long-standing rotator cuff tears lead to arthritis in the shoulder joint.
Avascular Necrosis: A condition where reduced blood flow to the bone causes the bone tissue to die, leading to arthritis over time.
Symptoms of Shoulder Arthritis
Joint Pain: Pain is often the most prominent symptom, worsening with activity and improving with rest in the early stages.
Stiffness: Reduced range of motion, making it difficult to perform tasks like lifting your arm.
Grinding or Clicking: A feeling or sound of grinding when moving the shoulder due to worn cartilage.
Swelling: Inflammation around the joint can cause noticeable swelling.
Decreased Function: Difficulty performing daily activities such as combing hair, dressing, or lifting objects.
Causes and Risk Factors
Shoulder arthritis can develop due to several factors:
Age: The likelihood of arthritis increases with age as cartilage naturally wears down.
Injuries: Previous shoulder injuries like fractures or dislocations increase the risk.
Overuse: Repetitive use of the shoulder, common in certain professions or sports, can accelerate joint wear.
Genetics: A family history of arthritis can predispose individuals to the condition.
Inflammatory Diseases: Conditions like RA significantly increase the risk of arthritis in multiple joints, including the shoulder.
Diagnosis of Shoulder Arthritis
Diagnosis typically involves:
Medical History and Physical Examination: The doctor assesses symptoms, joint function, and history of injuries.
Imaging Tests: X-rays are commonly used to identify joint space narrowing, bone spurs, or other changes. MRI scans may be used for more detailed evaluations.
Blood Tests: To rule out rheumatoid arthritis or other autoimmune conditions.
Treatment Options
While shoulder arthritis cannot be completely cured, its symptoms can be managed effectively. Treatment options include:
Non-Surgical Treatments
Medications:
Over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen) to reduce pain and inflammation.
Corticosteroid injections for temporary pain relief.
Physical Therapy:
Strengthening exercises to improve joint stability and flexibility.
Stretching techniques to reduce stiffness.
Lifestyle Modifications:
Avoiding activities that exacerbate pain.
Using heat or cold therapy to manage symptoms.
Assistive Devices:
Slings or braces to support the shoulder and reduce strain.
Surgical Treatments
When non-surgical treatments fail, surgery may be recommended. Common surgical options include:
Arthroscopy:
A minimally invasive procedure to clean out damaged cartilage or bone spurs.
Shoulder Replacement (Arthroplasty):
Total Shoulder Replacement: Replacing the ball and socket with artificial components.
Reverse Shoulder Replacement: Used when rotator cuff damage is significant.
Resection Arthroplasty:
Removing part of the clavicle to reduce joint friction in AC joint arthritis.
Preventing Shoulder Arthritis
While not all cases of arthritis can be prevented, certain steps can reduce the risk:
Maintain a Healthy Weight: Reduces strain on joints.
Exercise Regularly: Strengthens muscles around the shoulder joint.
Avoid Overuse: Modify activities to prevent repetitive strain.
Treat Injuries Promptly: Proper treatment of shoulder injuries can prevent long-term damage.
Healthy Diet: Consuming anti-inflammatory foods like fruits, vegetables, and omega-3 fatty acids can help maintain joint health.
Conclusion
Shoulder arthritis is a common yet manageable condition. Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve quality of life. If you experience persistent shoulder pain, stiffness, or decreased function, consult a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment plan. With proper care and management, it is possible to lead an active and fulfilling life despite shoulder arthritis.

What is chronic shoulder pain?
Shoulder pain can be caused by a multitude of factors, ranging from natural wear and tear to more specific injuries. Here are some of the most common causes:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b3e075b1981cb3a95e68fa7d01b5dccd/4f4e3d80cc8362c2-ba/s400x600/3ff9fdec6cb6bd610313321c78c5f16647761fee.jpg)
* Rotator cuff tendonitis: This is inflammation of the tendons that surround the shoulder joint. It's one of the most common causes of shoulder pain.
* Shoulder instability: Excessive laxity of the joint can lead to pain and a feeling of locking.
* Retractable shoulder capsule: Thickening and retraction of the joint capsule limits movement and causes pain.
* Acromioclavicular osteoarthritis: Wear and tear of the cartilage in
the acromioclavicular joint (between the clavicle and the scapula) can cause pain in the upper shoulder.
* Other causes: Fractures, dislocations, inflammatory diseases (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis), neuralgia (e.g. thoracic outlet syndrome) and postural problems can also cause shoulder pain.
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms can vary depending on the cause, but often include:
* Persistent pain: Pain may be localized to the shoulder, radiate down the arm or be felt during specific movements.
* Stiffness: Difficulty moving the shoulder in any direction.
* Weakness: Loss of strength in the arm.
* Cracking or clicking: When moving the shoulder.
How can chronic shoulder pain be relieved and treated?
Treatment will depend on the underlying cause and may include :
* Rest: Avoid movements that aggravate pain.
* Ice: Apply ice to the shoulder to reduce inflammation.
* Medication: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can help relieve pain and inflammation.
* Physiotherapy: Specific exercises can strengthen muscles, improve mobility and relieve pain.
* Injections: Corticosteroid injections can reduce inflammation in some cases.
* Surgery: In more severe cases, surgery may be required.

Arthroscopic Treatment for Clavicle Fractures: Minimally Invasive, Maximum Recovery
Clavicle fractures, commonly known as collarbone fractures, are a frequent injury, especially among athletes and active individuals. While traditional treatments often require large incisions and longer recovery periods, arthroscopic treatment offers a minimally invasive alternative, promoting quicker recovery and less discomfort.
Arthroscopy involves using a small camera and specialized instruments to treat the fracture through tiny incisions. Unlike traditional surgery, which requires a large cut to access the broken bone, arthroscopic treatment uses a small camera (arthroscope) inserted into the area. This allows the surgeon to view the fracture on a screen and perform necessary repairs with minimal disruption to surrounding tissues.
The advantages of clavicle fracture treatment are significant. First, the smaller incisions reduce the risk of infection and scarring. Second, because there is less tissue damage, recovery times are often much shorter compared to conventional surgery. Patients typically experience less pain post-surgery and can begin rehabilitation sooner, making it ideal for those eager to return to normal activities quickly.
Moreover, the precision of arthroscopy allows for a more accurate alignment of the broken bone, improving the chances of a successful recovery. In some cases, if the fracture is complex or has caused significant displacement, arthroscopy may be combined with other techniques, such as pinning or plating, to ensure stability.
While arthroscopic treatment isn't suitable for all clavicle fractures, it has proven to be a safe and effective option for many. If you’ve experienced a clavicle fracture, consult with an arthroscopy specilitest in 440018 to help determine the best treatment plan tailored to your recovery needs.

Exploring Common Bone Injuries and Their Recovery Paths
Collarbone Fractures: The Clavicle Tango: Picture the collarbone (or clavicle) as the elegant lead dancer in our bone ensemble. It’s one of the most frequently broken bones. How does it happen? Well, imagine a dramatic fall, a sports collision, or even a vigorous game of tug-of-war. The clavicle says, “I’ll take the hit!” and snaps.
Treatment: Depending on the fracture’s severity, you might get away with a sling or brace. But sometimes, the clavicle demands a grand entrance — cue surgery! Pins, plates, and screws join the performance.
Recovery: Like a graceful waltz, collarbone healing takes time. Weeks to months, my friend. But fear not; soon you’ll be back to lifting coffee mugs and waving hello.
Wrist Fractures: The Radioulnar Pas de Deux: Your wrist bones — the radius and ulna — engage in a delicate duet. A slip on ice, a skateboard mishap, or an overenthusiastic handshake — bam! Wrist fracture. The radius whispers, “I’ll break the news to the ulna.”
Treatment: Casts, splints, or maybe even a snazzy wrist brace. Surgery? Rarely, but if the bones pirouette out of alignment, the surgeon steps in.
Recovery: Patience, my friend. Your wrist needs rehearsals. Flex, extend, rotate — gradually. Soon, you’ll be typing, high-fiving, and mastering chopsticks again.
Ankle Fractures: The Tibia-Fibula Tango: The tibia and fibula — ankle’s dynamic duo — sometimes trip over life’s obstacles. A misstep on uneven ground, a soccer tackle, or a wild dance move — snap! Ankle fracture. The tibia says, “I’ll take the lead this time.”
Treatment: Casts, boots, or maybe a metallic partner (a.k.a. screws and plates). Surgery? When the bones pirouette out of alignment, the surgeon steps in (again).
Recovery: Rest, elevate, ice — repeat. Gradually, you’ll ditch the crutches and embrace your inner ballerina. Soon, you’ll be salsa dancing or chasing sunsets.
Hip Fractures: The Grand Adagio: The hip — the majestic ballroom of our skeleton. A fall, osteoporosis, or a misjudged leap — crack! Hip fracture. The femur (thigh bone) says, “Time for a solo performance.”
Treatment: Surgery, my friend. Nails, screws, and a dash of magic (okay, anesthesia). Rehab follows — walking, balancing, and reclaiming independence. 🚶♂️
Recovery: Months of dedication. But fear not; soon you’ll be cha-cha-ing at family gatherings or sipping tea with newfound grace.
