The character assasination of Lila being more happy to see the family than five. FIVE survived an apocalypse and a deranged bureau for 46 years so he could fight his way back to save his family FIVE. isn't happy to see them after getting lost against his will for 7 years.

Like he thinks the cleanse is over and done with he thinks he's coming back to peace and his family happy and together and Lila is more excited to see them than him? Five who has traversed space and time for his siblings, who has outrun apocalypse after apocalypse after apocalypse for them. and 7 years is enough to destroy all that make him wish for a time without them? I call bullshit.

i understand that claire's cheerleader friend is currently very upset, but i honestly don't think that claire is particularly at fault for either event. like, of course, in the end her actions has still hurt those that were close to her, i think for her it's been mostly reactionary.

first up, maddie nears, with the whole "she didn't let claire in while claire was trying to escape a domestic between her parents". now, of course maddie couldn't let claire in while her own mum was having a mental health crisis-- that would've been like throwing oil in a kitchen fire. and of course, maddie wouldn't have known about claire's home life. claire herself said that she does everything she can to make her life look so effortless and easy. maddie wouldn't have understood that claire was even seeking refuge, which she probably wouldn't have gotten anyway, since it would've been claire moving from one tumultuous home to another. and claire of course didn't know about maddie's home life, because she did everything to make it look like she had a normal mum. in claire's mind, she was being shut out of a haven, out of a safe place, by her own best friend. of course she would've been upset about it. she was a child looking for safety

secondly, the cheerleader. claire had a lot of good reason to ice her out, even tho i don't think it was intentional to begin with. claire had a LOT on her plate. her ex best friend mysteriously disappeared, in what looks like a murder case, and the guy she's been hooking up with has been accused of killing her. she blames herself for all this. she join's maddie's friend group in trying to investigate her disappearance. like ms cheerleader no wonder claire doesn't have time for you!! she's busy af. but also, the cheerleaders weren't really good friends to begin with. like yeah, claire was hooking up with a guy that had a gf, but that's also on xavier!! for fucking around with people that aren't his gf. he had agency in this. the cheerleaders can't fully blame claire for this, and if it genuinely upsets them, why not fucking bring it up with her in a mature way instead of gossiping and making jabs. that shit achieves nothing. second of all, shitting on the guy that your friend wants to bring to the school dance?? really?? it's so petty, it didn't come from a place of protectiveness or looking out for her, it was just hs clique ahh drama. if you don't like his personality, just suck it up for one night. this guy makes your friend happy even if she doesn't show it!! stop bitching about the guy she spends her time with jesus christ. sometimes you gotta just tolerate your friend's annoying partner because you love your friend.

i really like how this show deals with this kind of thing. you can't point a finger at a single person and say "this is it, this is the person in the wrong". it really is the most human writing out of most of the teen dramas i've watched. people have lapses in judgement, sometimes they're reactive, don't react in a perfect way, don't communicate properly because of their upbringing in some way or another. no one is really in the wrong (other than xavier for being a cheater), but everyone gets burned. that's just how life works. and they try to pick up the pieces anyways.

So…I have a lot to say about ‘The Bear’ S2 Finale but imma keep it sweet & simple.

Claire saying ‘I love you’ was….unexpected I watched every scene that they were in together, and still didn’t expect that😭nothing about them had chemistry enough to be IN love. There was more weight behind read text messages on Marcus’s phone, than that ‘love’ scene. I did scream ‘NOOOOO’ though so that counts for something💀

So this season was 6 episodes to the normal 10 episode count, which means the runtime was reduced by 4 episodes, and from my viewing we missed out on the following storylines/ plot resolutions

An ACTUAL EXIT FOR RAY

Allison and Viktor actually making ammends with each other

A flashback to Reginald's original planet covering the creation of the particles and how their world ended

SOME FUCKING DAVE KATZ?!

just generally any sort of fight scenes. We got like...one

POGO? we got a second of him in a flashback, but just a cameo as the butler in the current Hargreeves house would have been nice

Five also having a realistic existance in this new timeline (everyone else has a realistically shitty life but he's a high ranking CIA member at age like 18?)

They establish Klaus has been sober for 3 years (the time skip being 6 years) and clearly it's alluded to that Claire saw some of his antics when he was still using (her having been to the squat, her advising Allison drop him immediatly) but none of it is actually shown or elaborated on, or even alluded to until he grabs the TV, so it made Claire's change in attitude towards him come out of nowhere?

IS RAY CLAIRE'S DAD IN THIS WORLD OR NOT?! WTF IS UP WITH RAY

A Klaus storyline that...actually related back to the larger plot would have been nice?

Any explination about why Jennifer was IN A FUCKING SQUID?

A reason why Jennifer was infected with the particle in the original timeline. Like...was it a doomsday cult there like it is here, whats up?

Any of the brellies other than Lila and Allison having to deal with new/old family members in this timeline. Lila had a massive family (that is never explained) and Allison had Claire (AND RAY, FOR FIVE FUCKING SECONDS), but none of the other brellies have family members they have to pretend they know? that would have been golden

An exploration into the whole 'now Vik's been through every woman in town' thing. They just dropped that and ran. like...does he have commitment issues? is he emotionally distant? is he too clingy? why have all these women dumped him. Thats a big potential character beat to introduce and then abandon

Like the core of the plot - the two particles mutating into something horrible, Reginald having to shoot Ben in the OG timeline to save the world, the Gene/Jean timeline doomsday cult, them fixing the story by allowing the particles to be consumed and erased- that worked. but NONE of the dressing around about the actual siblings did. Like they literally dump Luther and Diego into the CIA's basement because they couldn't find a use for them, it was so fucking weird.

my money is on mr martin having possessed claire's cheerleader friend. i reckon it's a possibility that the cheerleader friend might harbour a secret crush on claire, and if that's the case then her thinking claire has iced her out then i reckon she could be devastated enough for mr martin to possess her
