The Fu-Ho movie palace is closing down. On its final night, King Hu’s martial arts epic Dragon Innplays to a cavernous, near-empty cinema. The film follows a cast of characters that includes the cinema’s workers and audiences, among which are two actors from Hu’s film watching 1967 versions of themselves onscreen. Moving through the hallways, backrooms, and rows of red velvet seats, the line between corporeal and ethereal becomes increasingly blurred. Are these figures real, or are they ghosts haunting the architecture? Part homage, part séance, Tsai Ming-liang’s impeccably wrought, meditative narrative is both a celebration of and a lament for the communal experience of cinema. 2003, Taiwan, DCP, in Mandarin with English subtitles, 82 min.

as much as i adore shadow's origin as a lab grown creature, his movie backstory is actually giving me so much brainrot... like imagine landing in an unfamiliar place, right in the middle of the cold war, and immediately being treated with fear and suspicion. you have no memory of who you are or where youre from, but the scientists who took you in treat you as nothing but a potential weapon, so thats how you end up viewing yourself. until you meet this one girl. and shes the first person youve met who isnt suspicious of you. and the first thing she does is draw a little bunny on your glass cage. imfjfhfjffhdndjfjfj

I have covid!! or at least my brother has it who I live with and I am very very sick! I'll be fine but I'm staying home from class to avoid spreading it so I finally got some time to finish up some drawings I've been sitting on 🥰 you guys should know I watch every single notification that comes in and smile and gush about them like a creeper so thank you as always, it really does mean a lot!! If I end up testing positive I imagine I'll be out of school for even longer so at least it'd be nice to have some time to draw & write 💞 I really really love how these ones came out, they were supposed to just be sketches and then I just kept going lmao. I've been experimenting with rendering more and more so hopefully you guys like it too! It feels like everyone's getting sick rn so stay healthy everyone! 💞💞 Happy Thursday!!
