I've been watching a lot of the classic holiday specials of late, like the various Peanuts/Charlie Brown shows, Garfield, A Wish for Wings that Work, etc., and got the idea in my head to mock up what a "Finding Dee" version of one of those classic cartoons might look like. I put a lot of work into trying to replicate a little of the line style of vintage cel art and mocked up an old TV as a frame. I am unusually happy with how this came out, honestly, and now wish that there really WAS an animated cartoon to go with this one image.

“A Muppet Family Christmas” is always one of my favorite holiday specials. A must-watch for me and my family each year. It first aired on December 16th, 1987, I remember watching it that night. You can find this on older VHS, DVD, pirated copies plus its on YouTube. It features a pretty large crossover of all the Henson properties at the time before the Disney acquisition... The Muppets, Muppet Babies, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock. The Muppets travel to Fozzie Bear’s mom’s house unannounced to surprise her, when the whole time she was preparing to leave for a Christmas vacation in Malibu. Of course the story builds from there. The first step is to figure out if you want your decorations to be traditional or contemporary. Once you have this figured out, you can make a plan for the rest of your decorations. For contemporary decorations, adding fun colors will help set the mood for this holiday season.

Stick with blues, greens, pinks, and purples, which are all great colors for any occasion. Try different textures like velvet to capture that contemporary look that many people adore. If you want your decorations to be traditional then go with golds and silvers, along with deep reds and greens.
