The Alphabet With Batman
Description: Clark Kent wrote a children's alphabet book for a new member of the batfamily to welcome them and make them feel more at home. If you decide to illustrate this pls let me know cause I wanna see.
A is for Alone
In the beginning, Batman was on his own. “I work alone,” Batman said.
B is for Butler
Even though Batman said he was alone, his trusty butler, Alfred Pennyworth, was there for him every step of the way.
C is for Commissioner
One of Batman’s most trusted allies is Commissioner Gordon. They work together to solve cases.
D is for Detective
Batman is the world’s greatest detective. He solves big mysteries to help people.
E is for Ebony
Ebony is the color of everything Batman wears to blend in with the darkness of the night.
F is for Fox
Lucius Fox helps Batman keep his identity a secret so he can pay for things like the Batmobile and the Batplane.
G is for Gotham
Batman patrols Gotham every night to protect it from dangerous villains.
H is for Hero
Batman is a hero. He saves the people of Gotham from danger all the time.
I is for Injustice
More than anything, Batman hates injustice. He wants everyone to be treated fairly and to have justice served where it is due.
J is for Joker
Joker is Batman’s arch-nemesis. He makes sure the Joker gets put in back Arkham every time he escapes.
K is for Kevlar
Batman still has to protect himself from getting hurt so he wears kevlar, a tough material that protects him from knives and bullets.
L is for Love
You might wonder what it s that motivates Batman to do what he does. It’s a big secret so you have to promise not to tell anyone. But Batman’s motive for everything he does is love.
Batman loves Gotham so he protects it. Batman loves his friends who help him. He protects them too. And many, many others that he loves.
Batman might have said, “I work alone,” but it was never true.
M is for Many
Batman has many, many sidekicks and he loves every one of them very much.
N is for Nightwing
Nightwing is Batman’s oldest son, the first Robin. He kept Batman from feeling alone and was a light in the darkness.
O is for Orphan and Oracle
Oracle was the first Batgirl. She helps Batman and the others from a computer. Orphan could easily take down any of Batman’s villains on her own.
P is for Parents
Losing his parents might have been a painful experience for Batman but if he hadn’t experienced that pain, he never would have taken in his kids.
Q is for Quit
Knowing how it feels to not have family, Batman will never quit trying to be a good father for his kids.
R is for Red and Robin
Red Hood is another son of Batman. So is Red Robin; he’s the smart one. And then there’s Robin. Batman has had lots of Robins but each of them are just as vital to the dynamic duo.
S is for Spoiler and Signal
Spoiler considers Batman her father since her real father is not very kind. Signal is a metahuman. He’s still adjusting to becoming a part of the family.
T is for Together
Batman may have said, “I work alone.” But the Batfamily works best when they work together.
U is for Unstoppable
Together, Batman, his friends, and his family are unstoppable.
V is for Vigilantes
The Bats for a family of vigilantes; vigilantes are people who decide to take justice into their own hands.
W is for Wayne
Batman was never alone. Bruce Wayne was never alone, even after his parents died. Alfred and Commissioner Gordon and Lucius Fox were there. Eventually, Bruce was there for Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Cassandra Cain, Timothy Drake, Stephanie Brown, Duke Thomas, and Damian Wayne when they needed a father.
Not only was there a family of Bats. There was a whole family of Waynes.
X is for Xtra
You can always count on Batman to be extra, especially when adopting more children.
Y is for You
Because if you’re reading this story, that means that you’re also a part of Batman’s family and he loves you very much.
Z is for Zzzzzzz
Because with that many kids, Batman must be a very tired dad.

The dew dances
With the morning mist
As sunlight
Slowly
Takes its steps
Whispers break
The morning still
Soccer games
Await the dawn
Bouncing across the
Damp green field
Players limber
Limbs and spirits
The sound of cleats
Hit pavement hard
As players hurry to join their teams
Parents unfurl chairs and blankets
Coffee steams from cups in hands
Waking on these early mornings
Takes effort and caffeine
These moments precious
They won’t come forever
For an instant all life focuses
On the field
With its ups and downs
And sideways actions
Who wins or loses
Is less the point
Who strives
Who helps
Who listens
Who shares
Life’s lessons
Hidden in the play
Parents know these days
Won’t last
So take them in
With each
Deep breath

All Out Of Proportion When the kitty is pretty and three times your height When the middle of day is as dark as the night When the clock in the hall ticks louder than thunder Then proportion is off and over is under Stand on the floor and bump your head on the ceiling No point in fussing and there's no use in squealing Disproportion is making short things act taller Just like a bully tries to make you feel smaller So if disproportion turns your highs into lows Don't measure the inches from your head to your toes Be grateful for the hare on your head if you're wise Whether out of proportion or just the right size. === By Doodleslice 2017-04-01 Cmwh 50 #colormewithhugs #doodleslice #poem #poetry #childrenspoetry #cat #bunny #rabbit #kitty #hare #proportion #disproportionate #proportions #coloring #coloringbook One of the original drawings used to make my poetry + coloring book, Color Me With Hugs. (Gifted) BOOK REVIEW: A Story About Afiya by James Berry and illustrated by Anna Cunha 🌻 . Synopsis: Some people have dresses for every occasion but Afiya needs only one. Her dress records the memories of her childhood, from roses in bloom to pigeons in flight, from tigers at the zoo to October leaves falling. A joyful celebration of a young girl’s childhood, written by the celebrated Jamaican poet James Berry OBE.✨ . I really enjoyed this story! at first I was a little worried because it’s based on a poem that it would be difficult to understand for children, but I don’t think that’s the case, especially if it’s read aloud and explained along the way. I loved the idea of Afiya’s dress representing her childhood. Each day she experiences something different, and it imprints on her dress. Then at the end of the day she washes her dress so she can start the next day with a clean slate to discover something new! I think that idea will really speak to the imagination of children. Who wouldn’t want a dress like that? 👗 . Anna Cunha’s warm illustrations perfectly complement the atmosphere of the poem. 🌅 The pastels and soft edges give the whole book the dreamy feel that matches with Afiya’s imagination. Not to mention how beautiful Afiya herself looks! Swipe to take a peek inside. . Thank you to @lantana_publishing for sending me a review copy! 😊 . . . #JohannasReviews #AStoryAboutAfiya #jamesberry #annacunha #lantanapublishing #picturebook #picturebooks #bookcover #bookreview #picturebookreview #bookrecommendation #blackhistorymonth #childrensbooks #childrensbook #poetry #poem #childrenspoetry #bookstagram #kidsbookstagram #kidstagram #kidlit #blackhistorymonthuk https://www.instagram.com/p/CF8PAI3AYQY/?igshid=1x25p6bgg8s5o

Our Children Can Soar by Michelle Cook I read this book just in time for MLK day and I'm so glad, I can't wait to show it to the kids! This beautiful poem-picture-book highlights groundbreaking heroes of Black history in America, depicting how the barrier-breaking achievements of each paved the way for many more after them to overcome prejudice and persevere. Starting with the courage of Black ancestors during enslavement and the Civil War, the book leads us through a succession of heroes, including George Washington Carver. Jesse Owens, Hattie McDaniel, Ella Fitzgerald, Jackie Robinson, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Dr. Martín Luther King Jr, Thurgood Marshall, and Barack Obama, and culminates in a picture of the children of today, lifted on the hands of their forebears into a bright sky. Speaking of, I can't say enough about these breathtaking illustrations! Each one, each done by a different illustrator in their signature style, could be its own framed masterwork.Pat Cummings' Ella Fitzgerald stands literally wrapped in music, a wide ribbon of music notes draped around her shoulders like a feather boa, her hand outstretched, releasing more opalescent notes into the air. Charlotte Riley-Web's Jackie Robinson slides into a base in a swirl of curves and vivid color, brushstrokes flying off the figure to signal his speed. Circles of spectator faces daubed in the background and a spray of speckles for dust complete the picture. This book is inspiring, gorgeous and sets the stage for discussion of the amazing people within its pages. #ourchildrencansoar #blackheroes #blackhistory #rosaparks #ellaFitzgerald #georgewashingtoncarver #barackobama #jackierobinson #thurgoodmarshall #mlk #martinlutherkingjr #rubybridges #hattiemcdaniel #jesseowens #diversekidlit #diversechildrensliterature #blackbooksmatter #blackheroes #blackhistory #childrensbooks #childrenspoetry #kidsbooks #readersareleaders #childrensliterature #kidlit #kidsbooks #picturebooks #childrensbooksillustration #childrensbookstagram #naacpawards #historyforkids #socialstudies https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ19ZsSsDQS/?igshid=10j8ocpih37fq

During this time of social distance, take the time to nourish your roots so your wings are stronger when it's time to take flight again. For those parents new to this "homeschooling" thing, enjoy both the quality and quantity time you have with your kids. Soon the world will be pulling you in different directions. Building strong communities starts with building strong families. Tell and show your kids how much you love them. Let them know that no matter how high they soar, you will always be a safe place to land.
