A thing I really love about Lost Boys lore is how hellhhounds aren't vampire ennemies but their protector. I was born in the 2000s, as such, I grew up with vampire medias from the 2010s where werewolf (and canine in generals) are their ennemies.
So, to me, it felt fresh. Seeing dogs being guardians to their vampire felt like a very fresh and novel concept in the genre to me (despite the movie being from '87 ^^').
Though, it makes me wonder... who is the lost boys's guardian ? Micheal and Sam have Nanook, Max has Thorn and them... ? Is it Thorn too and it's just the equivalent of teenagers sleeping anywhere but at their house ? Or is there a chihuahua or something hiding in their lair who really failed at its job since Marko died ?

"Miss Dolly"
Pound Puppies 2010 is completely free to watch on Tubi. So I'm having a good time. This show always impressed me in how it played with 'dog-movie' archetypes; Cookie gets to be a leading girl while also being a boxer; Squirt is a little tough city-mook and always wants to get in fights; and Miss Dolly is a prissy poodle but ALSO head of the Pound Puppies and a good person.
I really appreciate it as a doglover! Boxers are beautiful, chihuahuas are little fiesty power-houses and poodles are genuinely great, smart dogs (they were bred for hunting. Also they're not french they're german).

Some dog movie observations:
The 1990s to like 2010 seems to be the golden age of dog movies. We got Beethoven (1992), Homeward Bound (1993), Air Bud (1997), 101 Dalmatians (1996), Snow Dogs (2002), Because of Winn Dixie (2005), Hotel for Dogs (2009), Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008) to name a few that I enjoyed. There is also a slew of B-rate movies that while not as good, still have some charm. I will say I think it helps that cgi wasn’t heavily used in movies until the later 2000s and 2010s, and it is my humble opinion that too much cgi ruins the movies. The more tricks the dog actually does on camera, the better. Bonus points if clever camera shots and practical effects are used instead of cgi.
Anything before the 80s? Questionable animal ethics. (The Animal welfare act was passed in 1966, so really anything before then is… wild.)
Now. As we travel into the 2010s-2020s, we see an uptick in copaganda. (Max, Dog, Rescued by Ruby, and a Dogs Journey are some recent ones). We also see an uptick of Really Bad Movies (think like a dog-BAD. Lady and the tramp? WORSE.) we also see a lot of strange indie films about dogs (white god was….. weird.) this is also when the “air buddies” took off to be their own thing, which has turned into an entire studio that makes Bad Dog Movies (and also shows! Pup academy, phantom pups, and one other one on Netflix. They are Bad)
There are also several with like 100 remakes (lassie, benji, where the red fern grows, like 200 different white fangs smh) so I’m not super sure how I’m going to tackle those….
The most popular dog breeds in these movies are probably goldens, labs, German shepherds, Great Danes (! At least 3 so far; marmaduke, the ugly Dachshund, and Chestnut hero of Central Park), old English sheepdogs (! Surprising but there was a few!) and beagles (again at least a few movies). Also, terriers.
Dobermans, Rottweilers, Beaucerons, and German shepherds are top picks for the antagonist characters, or just as Menacing Dogs
There are several I haven’t watched yet because they are not on any streaming service, and I will have to check my library to see if they have any of them to loan. I am looking forward to the Tim Allen shaggy dog (horrifying poster- dog with human eyes photoshopped on), marmaduke (I remember this movie being terrible), cats & dogs (I remember liking these)
Im tempted to try and make a big long video just. Reviewing all the movies I have watched but that is a massive waste of my time and also I have the personality of a shoe so I’m not sure who would actually be interested in watching it. Much to think about.
#dog movie saga#the list is LOOOOONG#there r like 200 movies I haven’t watched#idk if I should like. be more picky#narrow my requirements#idk#I think I’m gonna watch some horror ones tonight#cujo and white dog maybe?

Tell us about your opinions about talking animal movies.
I will try to be brief (1/435)
Before we get into The Opinions, I need to first establish that when I talk about talking animal movies, I specifically mean live-action talking animal movies in all their unrepentant glory, so no fully animated stuff like Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010), or a semi-animated realism one like Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and also stuff like The Muppet's movies. We are also including talking animals who are narrated and don't have CGI applied to their faces to make the illusion of talking, so films like Milo and Otis (1986) do qualify, but something like Zootopia (2016) does not. This is exclusively live-action, though of course there can be special effects or CGI included in these selections, even fake animals so long as they work as animals within the story. The main basis needs to be that it is a live-action movie where there are realistic (per the movies) animals talking.
More than anything, these movies tend to be kids movies (of course) but that in itself does not mean that these movies are always intentionally silly. No doubt that the vast majority of them are comedy, mind you, but there's a difference between genuine well-made comedy (for kids) and something like that scene in 50 First Dates (2004) where we have the walrus throw up on the worker (side note I am not including this movie despite how the animals do seemingly communicate with Adam Sandler, already a talking animal himself in some respects).
Now onto my opinion: There are precisely 4 golden questions you need to consider for whether any given talking animal movie is good (subjective), and more than anything is that these are not hallmarks but rather categories these movies fall under and should embrace to be enjoyable.
1. How much suspense of disbelief is the movie demanding from you?
Ah, the classic concept for media engagement that seems to be lost to time. Generally, whenever you will be approaching a new movie or show or etc, there is always the question of realism and the idea of suspension of disbelief, how much you are willing to shutter away that little voice in your head that makes you chronically unfuckable that goes "um ACTUALLY that scene is totally unrealistic-" and other noteworthy lines. For a movie with talking animals, of course you will be expected to give it some ground, but as well you need to keep in mind that you don't just throw it all out.
More than anything, a bad movie made with passion is better than a good movie made with none. How much does the talking animal movie like the fact that it is a talking animal movie? Do they just cash it in for the paycheck like the latter half films of the Air-Bud Extended Universe, or do they double down and go whole hog on the concepts like with G-Force (2009)? Are the movies simple comedies like Marmaduke (2010) that know they are there just to give you a laugh, or do they try their damnedest to make up a moral like Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 (2011)?
Once more, a bad movie does not mean a bad movie when talking about this complex topic, so while I do think these questions I posit are subjective, they are recommendations to keep in mind for your viewing experience.
2. Are the talking animals actually animals or just people who happen to also be animals?
Certain scholars might point you to Alvin and The Chipmunks, or Garfield (2004) and Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties (2006) for reference on talking animal movies which deal with this subject matter, perhaps the most famous example being Stuart Little (1999), the mouse who actually goes to school and, within the plot of the movie, gets captured by a hate group (of cats) who plan to kill and eat him.
This question can apply to a fair bit of movies, I think the Dr. Dolittle movies could fall under here as those movies actually hinge on how the titular "Dr. Dolittle" specifically has the power to talk with animals, where in turn this power makes said animals genuine characters and it's not treated as a minor quirk. Another good example could actually be Detective Pikachu (2019), where Ryan Renolds does his best to Renolds it up. Paddington (2014) also qualifies for this question under the same rules as Stuart Little, where Paddington is just a person but also a bear.
A more modern variant could be Show Dogs (2018), where the dogs are not understood by the humans, but do in fact hold places in human society. I also want to give a special shout-out to Kangaroo Jack (2003) here, which does not technically qualify for this list given that Jack never really talks (only makes implicit noises that kangaroos can't actually make), but I believe that in spirit it qualifies here. Same with Furry Vengance (2011), who I believe in spirit qualifies due to the animals having human levels of intelligence and primarily having all the markers of talking animal movies, except for that the animals themselves don't directly talk.
3. Are the talking animals actually talking?
Already this one may seem ridiculous given the subject matter, but I do think that it's important to keep in mind. Whenever there is a talking animal movie, there is always the question of "are these animals just actually speaking english in the real world or is this just the omniscient movie viewer translation for them?' George of the Jungle (1997) actually had a very clever opening sequence where they provided translation for realism, except that the translation was [ANIMAL NOISES] while said animals spoke in clear english.
This does not mean that the movie NEEDS to be realistic, mind you. Technically the Narnia movies count as talking animal movies due to Aslan being, well, a giant talking lion, but those are intentionally a fantasy setting which makes it fit, same with a film like The Golden Compass (2007). To a lesser extent, the live action Scooby-Doo movies also fit as talking animal movies due to the presence of Scooby and [REDACTED] Doo, where Scooby and robotic Rowin Atkinson are just actual talking animals as an accepted fact of life within those universes despite being clear anomalies. Once again, Alvin and the Chipmunks live action movie series fit here. Perhaps a more elegant example could be found in Zookeeper (2011), where the animals do talk, and do directly communicate with Kevin James.
Of course there can be duds, such as Ace & The Christmas Miracle (2021), where it falls into the territory of also being a Christmas Hallmark movie with a recycled plot of saving the horse ranch. Conversely, we have a 'So bad it's good' movie like The Karate Dog (2004), which suffers from inglorious CGI, the dog actually speaking to humans, and all the depth you can expect from a dog performing martial arts in what is actually a buddy cop detective film.
4. How much do they take advantage of the animals talking?
Ah, now this one is the classic kaiju movie dilemma: Is the movie actually about the talking animals, or are they simply a backdrop b-plot for the "main character" humans of the movie who are like. usually planning a wedding or something. They always make these romantic. You may remember the classics such as Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) or the Transformers movies (Michael Bay version) where they shoehorned in a plot concerning the humans in order to make people care about the movies or provide some narration, irrespective of how these franchises do better without them.
You can look to films like G-Force (2009), which manage to elegantly intermix these plots by having the human and animal characters goals line up, mainly in that they want to prevent a genocide, or how movies like Milo and Otis (1986) are exclusively about the animals in their adventure. From Babe (1995) to Charlotte's Web (2006) to UNDERDOG (2007), there's a wide range as to how well they incorporate these aspects into their movies, whether it actually be about the animals or the animals serve as a backdrop to the humans.
There are a wide range of archetypes and variances to be found in live action talking animal movies, a rather underdeveloped field all things considered, but I do hope that people keep their minds and hearts open to discussion about this and find the movie that's right for them.

what's a russell crowe movie that isnt necessarily good? maybe even bad! that you would recommend anyways?
tumblr user @losthavenmine has done some fierce virtuosity (1995) propaganda, so i am inclined to name that one first. it's a fun movie that was in some ways a bit ahead of its time, but in other ways it is also painfully stuck in the mid 90s. russell plays an AI that is fed all information about Every Single Awful Person In History and he is this chihuahua on crack (not my words) super villain figure opposite denzel washington.
also, that is the movie that features twink russell in all his glory!!
and i suppose the "not necessarily good" category also leaves room for movies that have anything between 6 and 7 as a rating on imdb. so in that case i'd highly recommend mystery alaska (1999) (LOTS of fun, one of my faves actually!! even if it's not good, it's got heart in it) and for the moment (1993) (he's soooooo hot in it, despite being Baby). if you want something more modern era, i'd probably go for robin hood (2010). i feel like that movie is the perfect embodiment of "not necessarily good, a bit bad, still a lot of fun". it helps that the people who work alongside robin in the movie, are russell his irl friends, so i just find it a fun movie to watch. <3 there's some things about it i don't like (russell crash dieting bc of the commentary that he was "too old" for the role) (kinda loses some of the charm) (it's a 'prequel' to the robin hood we know, which is a choice) but it also has things i DO like!! russell mentions being aware at the time that it would probably be his last time on such a large set like that, and in the end he (sadly) was right. thanks so much for this question! <3 i was reading this during a meeting and i got all giddy!!

William Regal x Fem Reader- "Spill the Tea"
Many professional wrestlers have been famous enough to be considered for roles in popular movies.
The Rock was offered to play Willy Wonka in the 2005 Tim Burton remake, Trish Stratus was considered to play Jessica Alba's role in "Sin City", Triple H was considered to play Thor in the early 2010's and Chyna was offered a role in the 3rd "Terminator" movie.
When you were at the zenith of your wrestling popularity in the late 1990's, you were considered for many roles in popular movies.
Some of the roles you were considered for and offered were Elizabeth Hurley's character in "Bedazzled", Carmen Electra's role in "Scary Movie", one of the angels in those "Charlie's Angels" movies, Lara Croft in the "Tomb Raider" movies, one of the strippers in "Night at the Blue Iguana" and one of the barmaids in "Coyote Ugly".
Even in the early 2000's when your popularity had winded down, you were considered for several roles in popular movies, like playing Elisha Cuthbert's character in "The Girl Next Door" and Anna Faris' role in "Just Friends".
However, you turned down all of those roles down due to the scheduling you had to do for the World Wrestling Federation (as well as the WWE).
Looking back, you regret turning down to play some of these movie roles, in particular in "Coyote Ugly" and "Night at the Blue Iguana".
Speaking of which, if there is something that is really popular in pop culture going on, the WWE/F will try to cash in on it and reference it.
Examples would be Al Snow's Chihuahua Pepper being based off of the iconic Taco Bell Chihuahua who was popular AF at the time and the Kat recreating a moment in her dressing room based off of an Austin Powers movie gag.
Since you couldn't really be in "Coyote Ugly", you're going to bring that movie to the World Wrestling Federation.
Yes, the WWE was still called the WWF when "Coyote Ugly" was released!
On a "Sunday Night Heat" episode in September 2000---which was one month after "Coyote Ugly" was released---William Regal was sitting backstage in front of a circle shaped table, where there was a silver tray sitting on top of this table.
This tray contained a matching silver teacup and teapot on top of that tray.
You marched down to William, and as you walked up to him and the table he was sitting by, the camera was filming you walking sideways, and many male fans in the audience got out of their seats and cheered for you and whistled at you.
The outfit you wore was similar to what the women in "Coyote Ugly" wore---wearing hip hugging pants with a midriff baring tank top.
You placed your hands on top of the table William was sitting at once you stood in front of it, where you slightly bent yourself down.
"Hey" you greeted him with a slight smirk on your face.
William wasn't taken aback by seeing you, in fact, he enjoyed looking at you, his eyes studying you up and down.
Your eyes looked inside those teacups to see if there's any tea there, and lo and behold, there was.
"May I have a sip of tea?" you asked him with a smirk, the index finger of one of your hands raising off of the table and pointing inside that tea cup, asking him for a drink to be polite.
"Go ahead!" William offered with a smile.
He actually doesn't mind it if you have a sip of tea, with the way you look.
"Thanks" you replied with a smirk on your face, where one of your hands took one of the tea cups and raised it up to your mouth, where you took a sip of it and arched your head back as you drank that tea.
It isn't very classy to drink down tea like you're drinking a shot glass, but there's a reason you're drinking your tea like that.
You raised your head up after you drank that tea, placing the cup of tea back on the table.
"Y'want me to pour you some more tea?" you asked him with a grin on your face, removing your hand off of that tea cup when you asked that.
"Oh yes, please!" William replied excitedly, smiling and eager to await.
This was making the audience really think of "Coyote Ugly", and that was the intention.
William may be a classy English gentleman, but he can enjoy some rowdiness.
One of your hands grabbed that tea pot by its handle and raised it up from the table, where you tilted it above one of the empty tea cups and tea poured out of that pot and into the cup.
As the tea poured into that tiny little tea cup, your eyes were looking inside the tea while your mouth grinned, and your hips were gyrating and grinding left and right while your knees were bending a little bit.
You were basically acting like those women in "Coyote Ugly" pouring alcohol in people's drinks while they sexily danced on top of bar tables.
Your eyes were careful when you watched how much tea gets poured into that cup.
William, on the other hand, was looking at you pour that tea in the cup, his eyes focusing both on you and the tea being poured.
His eyes were wide and eyebrows raised.
"I wish I had a stripper pole right now" you admitted to him with your eyes looking at him. "Maybe even danced on top of a bar"
Male fans in the audience got out of their seats and cheered hearing that, agreeing with you.
William would have to agree with that, considering he wants to see you work that pole.
You didn't pour all the tea inside that pot, you were saving that for later.
You then raised the teapot until it was positioned straight, where you placed the teapot back on top of the table and let go of it.
You strutted around next to the table William was sitting by until you were close enough for hands to reach and touch him, and your hands grabbed William's button down shirt and pulled it apart until the buttons popped down out of the holes.
This really took William by surprise, even though this moment was rehearsed and staged.
The audience was completely shocked seeing this moment, both male and female fans.
As the buttons kept being separated away from the holes due to you opening up his dress shirt, more of his bare skin was getting exposed underneath that shirt.
William wasn't disgusted over you ripping his shirt up at all, but his eyes were looking at his bare chest and torso getting exposed.
After his shirt was unbuttoned, with your eyes looking into his eyes and with a smirk on your face.
"Is this tea hot?" you asked him.
"Not quite" he admitted.
You're not going to do what he thinks you're going to do.
Oh yeah, you did it, but at least you were polite and asked him if this tea is hot so you won't hurt him.
One of your hands let go of his shirt and grabbed that tea pot on top of the table, where you tilted it above his chest and poured that tea on top of his torso, where warm tea poured out of the pot and landed on his bare chest, the tea dripping and running down his skin.
The tea wasn't that warm, but the fans really reacted to this.
Fans---both male and female---cheered seeing this moment, whereas William's face was panicking and freaking out a bit.
Some of the tea was even sinking into William's clothes.
You, on the other hand, were smiling and grinning while your eyes looked at his chest as you poured that tea on his torso.
The skin on his torso was turning a little bit pinkish from getting slightly burned by that tea, but he wasn't completely burned by it.
You then raised that teapot up until it was sitting up straight, and you then raised that tea pot up until it was a few inches above your head, where you tilted that teapot and let it pour out tea on top of your face and on your body.
Your hand holding that teapot motioned it to pour on your face and on your top, making that tea pour across both of your tits.
You wore no bra underneath your top, so your nipples were poking through it.
When you poured this tea on top of you, male fans in the audience got out of their seats and cheered, although is this really sexy?
While you were pouring tea on top of yourself, you swayed your hips left and right sexily to dance, placing your opposite hand on your hip as you swayed and grinded your hips and body.
Your makeup surprisingly wasn't running as you poured tea on yourself, but your hair was getting wet and tea was soaking through your tank top.
"Is this sexy?" you asked him as you poured that tea on you. "I wish I could pour some water on myself right now"
So you could recreate another "Coyote Ugly" scene where the barmaids pour water on themselves when they're standing on top of the bar.
You would toss the rest of the tea in the teapot at William's chest to completely recreate this scene.
You actually recreated a few other "Coyote Ugly" moments in episodes of WWF shows, including when they poured water on themselves.
Since you couldn't be in "Coyote Ugly", you'll at least bring it to the WWF.

tagged by @bloody-wonder thanks!!
last show: Let the right one in (2022). Why they keep making adaptations for this book if they hate it so much? Also, i thought they couldn’t top the American remake of 2010 on making a shitshow, but this series was like: hold my beer.
last movie: Genius (2016) by Michael Grandage
last song: The kids from yesterday by MCR (but watch me play the Asmodeus song again and again)
currently watching: Buddy Daddies, Ted Lasso season 2, and Yellowjackets season 2.
currently reading: I finished Let the right one in, ‘cause i’ve to write a review of the book vs show for the magazine i work for. Now i can finally read Lindsey Fitzharris book ‘The Butchering Art: Joseph Lister's Quest to Transform the Grisly World of Victorian Medicine’ because it’s been sitting on my desk for a while. Also gotta start too Karan K. Anders ‘The four kings’ because @sunrise-and-death rec me the first one and i must read the second and scream about it.
current obsession:
3 ships: kazurei, andreil and still blitzo/stolas
craving: a whole ass week where i won’t feel like a stressed chihuahua

Fireworks, Community & Pop Culture: Ten Things to Know in the American Association This Week
The American Association of Professional Baseball (@AA_Baseball) season continues with a full slate of series this weekend, all available for free live viewing at aabaseball.tv.
Here are 10 (or so) Things to Know about the AAPB this week:
Because one fireworks show just isn't enough -- and maybe some Cleburne fans might miss the Biggest Fireworks Show of the Season on the 4th -- the Railroaders will host the Second Biggest Fireworks show on the 5th.
July 4th doesn't mean fireworks north of the U.S. border, but that's not stopping the Winnipeg Goldeyes from having a celebration of their own, and the team's Field of Dreams Foundation will benefit. Next Thursday is the first-ever Bike-In Movie Night at Blue Cross Park, where for $4 fans can ride their bike or walk onto the field for a screening of lsat year's film Next Goal Wins.
The Kansas City Star wrote about A.J. Alexy (Honey Brook, Pa), a two-year Major Leaguer with the Texas Rangers, standing out for the Monarchs. Alexy has struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings in six hitless, scoreless appearances at press time.
One of the great things about the AAPB is that player movement goes the other way, too. Victor Vargas (Catagena, Colombia) who was signed by the Reds and assigned to AA Dayton, was 4-1 with a 2.11 ERA in seven starts with the Milwaukee Milkmen and picked right up where he left off, earning a win with a two-hit, four-strikeout performance over five innings in his debut vs. Fort Wayne on Tuesday.
Thomas Dillard (Oxford, Miss.) is on pace to shatter the AAPB record for walks in a single season for a player. The Cleburne infielder has drawn 50 free passes in 43 games at press time, which includes as many games (11) in which he has walked in multiple plate appearances as he has games (11) in which he has failed to draw a walk. TJ Mittelstaedt set league the record at 94 back in 2014 for Kansas City (then the T-Bones). Not coincidentally, Dillard tied the Ole Miss record with 135 career walks drawn.
Sioux Falls Canaries skipper Mike Meyer has 299 career managerial wins at press time, seeking to becoming the second Sioux Falls manager to reach 300, behind only Steve Shirley (Mike was Steve’s pitching coach with the Canaries for many years). Meyer has the team tied for first place (24-15); the Canaries had not been nine games over .500 at any point since finishing the 2010 season at 63-33.
The Gary SouthShore RailCats continue to work on uniting the local community in Northwest Indiana. The team will host NWI Chamber Night on July 17 at the SteelYard, with 14 chambers of commerce scheduled to attend. The goal of the event is to help the chambers in their aim to further the interests of small businesses in the community as well as provide education and networking opportunities.
Kane County infielder Josh Allen (Fort Meade, Fla.) has spent the majority of the last seven seasons in the AAPB, the last four with the Cougars after three in St. Paul. He is now four shy of 100 home runs in his pro career after hitting 12 last year, second best on the squad.
Lake Country was the perfect way station for Austin Davis last year, as the lefty who has played for four MLB teams, last with the Twins in 2022, finished out 2023 with the Dockhounds. It was enough for the San Diego Padres to take a flier on him, and he hasn't disappointed, moving in to the closer role for the AAA El Paso Chihuahuas, notching eight saves and fanning 37 in 29 innings at press time. The El Paso Times chronicled his comeback story.
Pop culture hits the AAPB with these fun theme nights coming up:
Tonight - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Night at Fargo-Moorhead
Friday - Seinfeld Night at Sioux Falls
Friday- Pirate and Princess Night at Gary SouthShore
Friday through Sunday - Classic Movies Weekend at Lake Country
Sunday - Minions at the Park at Milwaukee

Reviewing all the TMNT movies
I've had a ton of free time and decided it'd be fun to watch and review a bunch of stuff. So I did, except I underestimated the amount of content and now I have to break it down into categories. Why I thought I could watch 8 movies, 5 series, and 3 crossovers in a week I don't know but here we are. Please keep in mind this is my opinion so you might not agree! This is listed in order of when I watched them NOT ranking I'm gonna do that later after I finish the tv shows.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(1990)
MMM a classic I remember first getting this DVD, my mom let me get it out of the $10 bin at the beach because I had lost a tooth. I didn’t remember much about the plot at all so it was like watching a new movie and man did I enjoy it. This was a great movie and one that held up pretty well. I liked the characters, the villain, the plot, and ofc the iconic farmhouse scene we get with just about every series. I even liked the character design surprisingly enough.
Some scenes felt weird, a couple of jokes felt off, and Splinter was literally the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen. He looks like a drowned chihuahua. The swearing was written as though the writer's mom never let them curse and they were pretending to be 25 in the youtube comment section or something, but It was great and honestly a pleasant surprise in the wake of all my childhood favorites being ruined by just how bad they were and the end credits song? Iconic. 8/10 will be watching again. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ll: The Secret of the Ooze(1991)
This movie is… good. It’s not a bad movie but it’s more goofs and gags-focused. It got a couple of laughs out of me but it felt somehow too long and also rushed. I’m pretty sure I got Leo and Donnie mixed up 207 times, I could almost never tell who was talking despite having the subtitles on, the villains were the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen, and I’m still not 100% sure who the science guy is exactly and whether he’s good or bad. In conclusion, I’m now eating a pizza. 6/10 might watch again
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lll(1993)
Well, this is certainly a movie. I don’t even really know what to say, I couldn’t root for Kenshin or even Mitsu and well the turtles are really really ugly. It was funny but I’m not sure if it was a “so bad it's funny” or actually funny. No one was very well fleshed out, the villain was Idk tbh, I don’t feel particularly satisfied, and the “we wanna stay here” thing at the end and then them all suddenly going “no we’ll go home ig” was kinda weird and probably only got put in for screen time. 4/10 I don’t believe I’ll be watching this again. I will, however, be crying bc I am in fact lactose intolerant and that pizza was not worth it. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(2014)
Man, I remember going to watch this movie in theaters like it was yesterday. Ignore my nostalgia rant but my dad sucks and never did anything with me so these were the only movies he ever went and watched in theaters, no matter how bad it was that made them infinitely better. I used to watch this movie like every night when I went to sleep so hearing this stupid music was so nostalgic, I adored this movie as a kid and I was almost scared to rewatch it without my rose-tinted glasses.
I have super mixed feelings about this movie, my expectations were so low it actually surprised me. The villains were honestly bad, not much screen time, the foot soldiers just straight up looked bad, I don’t know a lot about Sacks but somehow less about Shredder, Karai looks like she’s going through her 2010 emo phase, Splinter looks like what I can only imagine my cat would if I gave in to the urge to only shave the top of his head and arms, the turtles themselves are ugly, and their backstories mediocre. I could keep going but I did like the way the turtles interacted with each other. It had its funny moments, the soundtrack was good, and I actually quite liked Donnie. In conclusion 6/10 it wasn’t the best but it’s enjoyable and I’d watch it again. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows(2016)
Right, so I hate this movie. I can’t explain it, I've always disliked this movie. I tried super hard to watch it and literally fell asleep. It’s boring, I’m not a huge fan of how they interacted, Bebop and Rocksteady were mid although mildly enjoyable, shredder was once again a blank page, and Kraang just lowkey annoyed me. He was super gross and looked like that one transformer but pink and slimy.
The turtles little “I wanna be human” thing was mediocre and I felt like they just added it on for screentime. Casey was super unmemorable, Baxter was also kinda boring, Karai might as well have not been in the movie at all, and a lot of the jokes fell flat for me. On a more positive note, I liked the trash truck. What sucks is I really wanna like this movie bc we get a lot of characters from the original but it's so boring. 2/10 am going to burn the disk. TMNT(2007)
I was not looking forward to this movie, but surprisingly enough I liked it. I’m sad Mikey and Donnie got barely any screen time but Raph was cool. I liked Karai even though we didn’t see much of her, and the ending left me feeling pretty satisfied. The turtles were once again ugly, Splinter looked like that one macaroni noodle I lost under the fridge, and the villain was just ok. I am however a pretty big fan of the minor character development we get to see.
I’ve watched this movie probably like 4 times now, although it’s been a very long time, and the first time I watched this movie I loved it, the second it was ok, and the 3rd I kinda hated it. I basically got to come back with a fresh start and it was good, I noticed little plot points I didn’t before, debated whether I hated this Splinter or not 27 times, and realized Chris Evans voices Casey. This is a good movie. It’s cute, at times funny, and just genuinely a good watch for kids. 6.5/10 Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(2019)
You know I quite liked this movie. I liked the art style and all the turtles a lot?! Unlike the 2007 movie, I didn’t feel like a single character had a ton more screen time than the others and Leo had good character development! I’m also a dc fan so seeing Damian acting a bit more like a kid was great.
It’s a fun movie and they found a pretty good balance between funny and serious. I’m not 100% why Ra’s wanted to mutate all of Gotham tbh so that was kinda weird and there were some weird tone shifts with the random graphic murder. At one point Leo yelled at Raph because he could have killed these people and then I watched Donnie kill a man with a manhole cover, but Splinter finally wasn’t the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen although he also wasn’t in this movie. Overall I’d give this a 7/10. It wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever seen but it was good, I’m also craving pizza again but I’m still recovering from last time so I think I’d rather eat moldy bread. I'll be adding the rise movie after it's out but I kept getting scared I was gonna accidentally delete all this lol
#teenage mutant ninja turtles#movie review#the sleepless nights spent on this are actually astronimocal#Most of this was written at 3am so please leave my weird grammar alone#bayverse tmnt#tmnt 2007#batman vs teenage mutant ninja turtles#actually why do we keep letting Micheal Bay make movies#I swear the script he gives Megan Fox just says *breathes heavily*#boutta tag this like it's ao3 lmao

HBO Max New Releases:. July 2021
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
LeBron James might be out of the NBA playoffs, but he’s still angling to be a big part of the summer entertainment season. That’s because HBO Max’s list of new releases for July 2021 is highlighted by a very special sequel.
Space Jam: A New Legacy premieres on July 16. will find LeBron teaming up with the Looney Tunes in a Warner Bros. IP-extravaganza. Can ‘Bron and the Looney Tunes beat the Goon Squad before Warner Bros.’ server steals LeBron “Bronny” Jr.’s soul (or something)? Let’s hope so. The two other major WB releases this month, No Sudden Move and Tom and Jerry in New York, both come to HBO Max on July 1.
HBO Max is also bringing some fun TV shows to its stream this month. The long-awaited Gossip Girl revival premieres on July 8. That will be followed by Mike White’s satirical limited series The White Lotus on July 11. Ronan Farrow’s excellent book Catch and Kill gets a docuseries adaptation on July 12.
July 1 will see the arrival of library titles like Planet of the Apes, Reservoir Dogs, and Scream. Recent hit Judas and the Black Messiah comes to HBO Max on that date as well. It’s a good month for geek TV with the Doctor Who 2020 Christmas Special (July 1), Nancy Drew season 2 (July 3), and Batwoman season 2 (July 27) all coming home to their streaming residence.
