Hello~! This is an unexpected project from me, I’m sure, but it was a really great stage to have worked on! Thank you to @thiswasmadeonawhim​ for requesting me to do them! I had a blast reliving the anime and catching up with the novel, even if they did make me go through a rollercoaster of emotions in the process ^^;

The first stage’s subs were wonderfully done by @/great-blaster and their team in this post HERE. Please check them out if you want to get into the world of Joker Game stage~! (Not sure if the actual video is provided or if it’s just softsubs though ^^;) It’s not completely necessary to watch the first one to get the gist of the second one, but it would be better ifjust to get a feel for the characters, setting, and overall vibe that Joker Game offers ^^

Translations for the “Valkyrie” light novel some of the stage was based on can be found HERE as well! The novel really helped me a lot when I got lost, so a big thank you to the translator who did them, too~!

It is not graphic, per se, but it is a stage play based on spies, so some scenes, word choices, and sequences contain violence.

5 2023 J Dramas I look forward to

1. Dai Byoin Senkyo 

A thriller about a hospital being taken over by a gang wearing devil masks, starring Musashi Saburo as a police officer trying to save the hostages within a time limit and Higa Manami as a medical staff helping him (probably, based on her instagram photo wielding a gun). Looks like a good thriller to watch after having a Alice in Borderland hangover. 

2. Ninja ni Kekkon wa Muzukashii 

A romance drama about a husband who works a delivery man and a wife who works as a pharmacist, while secretly being ninjas without the other knowing. The wife belongs to the Koka Ninja while the husband belongs to the Iga Ninja. It is a matter of time before they know the truth. Sounds similar to the drama Caution Hazardous Wife where the couple are secret agents.

3. The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House

Based on the manga and anime, Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san (Kiyo in Kyoto) comes the next anticipated Netflix drama after First Love Hatsukoi. A slice of life drama about two best friends from Aomori Prefecture that came to Kyoto to become Maiko. While one of them has the talent to be one, the other doesn’t but she discovers that her talent lies in her delicious home style cooking!

4. Call Me Chihiro 

Another Netflix slice of life drama starring Kasumi Arimura (Rurouni Kenshin The Beginning) which is about Chihiro who moves to the small seaside town to start over a new life running her own bento shop and forget her past of being a prostitute. She meets new people and customers who talk to her about their lives and problems which cause her to overcome her own loneliness.

5. A2Z

An Amazon Prime drama. No plot is being revealed yet but I’m happy enough to see my favourite actress, Kyoko Fukada returning!

One of the topics for this episode was "Measures against the rainy season". Here's my favourite umbrella which I talked about in the podcast☂️💕It's very cute. I want to use it a lot during the upcoming rainy season🙄Someone mentioned in their message that "the air pressure during the rainy season is tough." I feel the same. During this time of year, the air pressure and humidity are likely to make you lose your energy. Don't forget to stay hydrated and it's best to do some light exercises to get through the rainy season in good health! 🥺

And since it is also Father's Day, I wanted everyone submit "Stories about your father" as a second topic for the podcast. By the way, I had completely forgotten, but my father was really into magic 😅He liked to do magic tricks with cars ♧♤♡♢Here is his very own card set. He would always bring out playing cards and perform some tricks wherever he was. He would even do little performances in front of my friends 😂He never let me in on the mechanics behind his tricks but he was definitely really good. Now I really want to see my dad's magic again 😊One day when I get to see him again, I'll ask him to show me~💫

Now, I would like to talk some more about my trip to Yokosuka‼️⛱🏄🌊I already talked about it in my podcast so in this blog post I want to share some photos from the first big part of my trip when I visited the "Toshio Suzuki and Ghibli Exhibition" held at Yokosuka Museum of Art! (I'll post about my experience in Sarushima=Monkey Island in a few days!!) Speaking of Ghibli, some people were curious if I had gone to the Ghibli exhibition so yes, you finally have your answer😊 You are greeted by Chihiro at the entrance. My excitement skyrocketed right from the start😊The curtain leads to an exhibition of 8,800 books displayed in a huge bookshelf. Each book is believed to have influenced Suzuki in some way. Another source of inspiration is his collection of movies which contains a whopping 10,000 films. I was surprised at the number of movies, he must have absorbed so much information from all these works. I want to become a part of the Suzuki family. It's cut off, but at the top of the photo there is Teto's beautifully drawn paw. I also really liked the drawing at the bottom center signed with "Miya-SAN on the Cliff by the Sea". Then I I met Totoro and his friends surrounded by a starry sky♡ I should have taken this photo with an umbrella~😭Here I am looking up at The Bathhouse with Chihiro. While I was there, I imagined Haku getting mad at me and telling me to get back right away because I shouldn't have come! Next I got myself one of Yubaba's fortune telling slips. What an impact😂 You pull out a numbered tag from Yubaba's mouth and then take your fortune slip from the drawer according to the number. It looked like I was trying to floss Yubaba's teeth. I got a half-blessing related to tidying up and becoming clutter-free. Last but not least, I enjoyed the wide and open sky on the rooftop 😂

This time, I bought a file, a letter set, a keychain, and postcards at the souvenir shop 😊 I love the keychain of San's mask😍 I will send one of these postcards to everyone whose messages I've read during the podcast😊 ...And with that my Ghibli story comes to an end. Or not!! Actually, my Ghibli adventure isn't over yet😇 I still have a few Ghibli photos and stories left so I will post a Part 2 some time soon!! I also have a story about a crazy stamp rally that felt like a sports competition😂

iruma: he has ultimate evasion powers (can dodge anything), a magic ring with a funky little magic demon inside and also a fast-growing harem of friends and fans. his shounen friend-making skills are second-to-none. he made his teacher into his familiar accidentally, also accidentally made his crossdressed form into a popular demon idol and his blood has special human power or something. he eats anything and everything and is very good at surviving in the wild. and also he did every job ever (literally) ever since he could walk, to give money to his (metaphorically) soulsucking parents which is also why he has said survival skills.

chihiro: a lot of people had crushes on her dragon boyfriend as kids?,, she got her first job experience at like 12, and also broke curses and was the sensible one her adventurous parents should have listened to. (the voice of reason in the whole movie). she’s made friends with spiders. also made friends with a guy that tried to eat her and got him adopted. she is the horror movie audience that screams “TURN BACK”, she had really good instincts and was going through a lot and managed to pull through despite being under threat of turning into a pig to get eaten.
