guys, i am thinking again
like why do people wonder why benedetta didn’t date lorenzo during their time on ‘Baby’ or after
their age difference isn’t severe, no.
but during ‘Baby’ , Benedetta was twenty years old and Lorenzo was eighteen!!!
I wouldn’t date an eighteen year old at twenty???
are you jokinggggg
plus benedetta likes older men - she has already said so. and they are good friends.
like why do people obsess about their ‘relationship’ so much??

Year 1680 - Part 2
TW/CW: Death Mention, Child Death
Tumblr media
While Giuliano reeled from the devastation that was losing his wife and three more of their children, life still went on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orelia found the time to seduce locals, mostly wealthy individuals who's idea of adventure was sharing a bed with a sailor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Bailey family was grew as the youngest was old enough to start walking around behind her brother but when Giovanni Cesare wasn't working he more concerned with his own daughter than his wife's half-siblings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elisabetta grew into a sweet child to her parent's delight and maybe it was because she was less fragile as she grew and less likely to pass but Vivienne began to make an effort to bond with their daughter now that she was a few months old.
Tumblr media
Back in Tartosa, Katharine was delighted that her dear sister became a teenager in October especially as she was finally expecting again after years of trying but that didn't last as her son passed away in November and her Aunt Gabriella in December.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Giuliano spent a few minutes each day speaking to his late wife in hopes that she would feel his enduring love for her beyond the grave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marina spent more and more time at the Morosini home because of their shared loss and the fact that she could tell that her father's widow was just waiting for the appropriate time to remarry and it was uncomfortable being in a home where the adult was clearly just biding their time though admittedly, Alessandra did her best to care for not only her late husband's children but his young orphaned sister as well despite it all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the losses softened with time, Giuliano did go out of his way to give all his love to Ricciardi as his only surviving child. They had both lost a lot that year and doting on the boy made it easier to move on and the relief they felt when the rains finally came to wash away the illness of stagnation made things feel hopeful once more.
Tumblr media
Ashley's spirit returned to the family to watch over her beloved and her last remaining child as she shared news with Giuliano that their other children had already moved on to whatever came next for them which they could only hope was a good thing but the both of them were glad to see each other again after nearly a year apart.
Tumblr media
The year ended in the Bailey house as the attempt for a son for Mr.Bailey was confirmed to have resulted in a pregnancy.

The first time I actually saw Vale was at a gala in Barcelona for the Sport Awards sponsored by IWC. I was the only journalist in a tuxedo. The editor-in-chief of Donna Moderna had told me to try to snag an interview with him on the sly. So, I kept my eyes on him all night, and when he got up to chat with some friends and Arianna, his girlfriend at the time, I slipped into the group and asked him a question. He turned to me, laughing, and asked, “Who are you?” A journalist, I replied. I was just starting out, a bit naive, thinking of being a journalist as some kind of status. Not for Valentino, though: “Then I’m not talking to you.” He turned away and completely ignored me. End of story.
Then I joined Riders, even though I knew next to nothing about motorcycles. So, I started studying. And only then did everything start to connect for me: his decision to switch to Yamaha to prove he was the best, even without Honda, his rivalry with Biaggi, the tax controversies, his comeback victories, and the antics to celebrate them—all of it was already framing a legend, an incredible story. That’s when I got the idea to dedicate a cover to him and his father, Graziano. They’d only been interviewed together once before, and it hadn’t gone well. I was sure mine would be a hit. We set it up. I interviewed Vale and Graziano separately. I spent nearly four hours with Graziano in the Yamaha hospitality and had 15 minutes with Vale in a small office in the same place. Was I nervous before meeting him? I remember I was—very much so. At the end of the interview, I suggested he pose nude, embracing his motorcycle, both of them lying down, shot from above, inspired by that famous photo of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. He replied that, no, he’d never do it nude. And then he left. I was left with the impression that he had no real sense of the legendary status he held or of the power his story already had. I liked that, honestly—it made him feel more relatable. Someone you could talk to about Inter and girls, and nothing else.
I reentered Vale’s world when we arranged an interview with Uccio. Uccio was his personal assistant back then; now he’s in charge of the VR46 Academy. In those days, he also drove the motorhome. We agreed to do the interview on the road, so we met outside Milan, and I joined him for the drive to Barcelona. Uccio struck me as a bit of an enigma—a tough guy, not one to warm up easily. We spent the journey listening to Vasco and Cremonini, chatting, and smoking. Vale called him only once, just to ask when his Nike sneakers would arrive. Uccio said to me, “Do you know how many people would like to please Valentino?” Uccio, who calls him “il Capo,” Uccio who, at one point, sang out loud against the windshield to Cremonini’s song PadreMadre: “Padre, occhi gialli e stanchi, cerca ancora coi tuoi proverbi a illuminarmi…”
After reading the interview, Uccio crossed paths with me in the paddock and simply said, “Nice article. Nice.” Then he walked back into hospitality. Only later did I understand that giving that compliment, with the way he is, had cost him a lot.
In the meantime, I got a call from Gabriele Romagnoli, one of Italy’s finest journalists—narrative and romantic. He called me to Rome, and over coffee in a fading bar, he proposed I write a book about Rossi for the publishing house 66thand2nd. The idea was to portray Vale in the aftermath of the accident with Simoncelli. A story of human tragedy and novel-like fate. Life and destiny. The book never came to be. I’d wake up at 5 every morning, writing from 5:30 to 8:30, but what I wrote lacked truth. I wasn’t deep enough into Vale’s mind to pull it off, and the more I wrote, the more I realized that he was slipping through my grasp.
In an attempt to understand him, I even sought advice from an astrologer, Chiara Viola. She told me, “Of course he eludes you—you’re used to seeking the meaning of things in depth. Vale doesn’t even question the meaning of things. He just lives. You’re vertical, he’s horizontal. You live in the past and the future; he seems superficial, but in reality, he’s a constant present.” That description helped me more than anything else in understanding how Valentino overcame everything, especially Marco’s death. And today, as I see him calmly approaching the moment of his last race, I recall that phrase.
What luck I’ve had. What luck we’ve all had to have you, Vale. Luck for those who stood by you every day, for those who admired you only on TV or in the papers, for those who commented on you, interviewed you, and even for those who never missed a chance to give you a hard time. What luck we’ve had. To experience you, to grow up with you. Because that’s exactly what it’s been about. To rejoice and despair with you. Yes, what luck. Today an era ends. A generation comes to a close. It’s been splendid. And that, dear Vale, no one can ever take from us. No one. Ever.

She grew up super close to Jack, Max and Mick
She got her undergraduate degree in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Stanford University (mainly online)
F4: A Record-Breaking Start
At just 15 years old, Catalina entered the Italian F4 Championship, and it quickly became evident that she was a force to be reckoned with. Despite being one of the youngest drivers on the grid, she showcased maturity and skill beyond her years. Her aggressive yet calculated driving style earned her multiple pole positions and race victories, culminating in her clinching the championship in her rookie season.
Her dominance in F4 not only set records but also turned heads in the racing world. With her wins came comparisons to legends, though Catalina remained focused on her own path. She credited her success to years of hard work in karting and the unwavering support of her father, who was often seen cheering her on at the track — when the MotoGP calendar allowed.
F3: A Star in the Making
Catalina’s move to FIA Formula 3 at 16 marked her entry into a more competitive and physically demanding series. Racing for Prema Racing, she faced seasoned rivals and tighter competition, but Catalina thrived under pressure. Her second year in F3 was nothing short of sensational. She battled wheel-to-wheel with some of the best young drivers, delivering standout performances that often left fans and commentators in awe.
Her crowning achievement came at the end of her second season when she won the F3 World Championship at just 17, making history yet again as one of the youngest champions ever. Her ability to adapt, take risks, and recover from setbacks was unmatched, solidifying her reputation as a future Formula 1 star.
Despite the immense pressure, Catalina remained grounded, attributing her success to her team — prema — her family, and her unyielding passion for racing. She often said that her father taught her to “focus on the process, not the outcome,” a mantra she carried into every race.
The Transition to F1: Breaking Barriers
After winning the F3 title, Catalina made the jump to Formula 2 at 18, but her time there was brief. Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team quickly took notice of her talent and announced her as their reserve driver in the same year — after spending an undisclosed amount of money to buy her from Prema/Ferrari. This decision sparked excitement and curiosity across the motorsport community, with many seeing it as a sign of Mercedes’ commitment to nurturing young talent.
In late 2018 Mercedes confirmed Catalina as a full-time Formula 1 driver for the 2019 season. The announcement was a historic moment, as Catalina became the youngest female driver to join the F1 grid. She described the moment as "surreal," standing on stage alongside Toto Wolff as the world celebrated her achievement.
Catalina’s promotion to Formula 1 was a testament to her relentless hard work and undeniable skill. It also symbolized the breaking of barriers in a sport traditionally dominated by men. As she prepared for her rookie season, Catalina expressed her gratitude for the opportunity while vowing to prove herself worthy of the iconic Mercedes seat.
“I’m a Formula 1 driver and I'm here to win,” she said during her unveiling. “This is just the beginning.”
2019 Australian GP
Catalina's first Formula 1 race was supposed to be the crowning moment of her journey, but fate had other plans. Her chassis caught fire midway through the race, forcing her to retire. Standing in front of the press after the chaotic day, Catalina's exhaustion was evident — not just from the race but from the patronizing questions that awaited her.
As soon as she stepped into the media pen, the male-dominated press wasted no time in making her feel out of place.
“So, Catalina, do you think Formula 1 is a bit too demanding for you, considering today’s result?” one journalist asked, the first of the group to speak coherently.
Another chimed in, “Do you think your lack of experience played a role in the incident? Have you considered that maybe Mercedes rushed you into F1 too quickly?”
Catalina, trying to maintain her composure, responded curtly, “The fire was caused by a mechanical failure, not by my driving or my experience. It’s unfortunate, but these things happen in motorsport. As I drove a spark flew into an unsecure part of my chassis and the heat and moisture from my engine led to it catching ablaze.”
But the questions kept coming, each one dripping with subtle (and not-so-subtle) sexism.
“Do you think you have what it takes to compete with the big boys? After all, it’s a steep learning curve.”
“Do you feel guilty for not delivering for Mercedes today?”
Her patience was wearing thin. Catalina clenched her jaw, forcing a smile as she spoke up.
“Let me make one thing clear,” she said, her voice steady but laced with malice. “This isn’t about me being a woman in Formula 1. It’s about me being a driver in Formula 1. Cars catch fire. Parts fail. It’s part of the sport, and I don’t see anyone asking my male colleagues if they’re too ‘inexperienced’ or if they ‘belong’ here when they retire due to technical issues. Did you ask Ricciardo this when he had to retire when his front wing fell apart? Or when Kubica made contact with Gasly?”
The crowd of journalists shifted uncomfortably, but she wasn’t done.
“Let’s focus on what actually matters, shall we? I’m here to compete, and I’ve earned my place on this grid. I've worked just as hard if not harder than some of the people on the gird alongside me regardless of what's in my pants that seems to bother you all so deeply. If anyone doubts that, they can keep doubting me while I prove them wrong on track. Is that all?”
Catalina’s words cut through the noise, silencing the room momentarily. Some journalists looked taken aback; others nodded in reluctant agreement.
As she walked away from the pen, her head held high, the moment sent a powerful message. Catalina Del Vecchio was more than ready to fight — not just against her rivals on the track but against the outdated perceptions that plagued the sport.

Year 1682
TW/CW: Miscarriage, Infant Death
Tumblr media
As the year started, Marina's brother Nicola celebrated his sixth birthday with his siblings and step-mother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the same time, young Elisabetta grew into a delightful little lady and while Vivienne had conflicting feelings about being a mother to her daughter before, now that they were both older they were incredibly close.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ever since the loss of their respective spouses, Giuliano and Katharine began to grow close again as friends. It was a nice change of pace from their losses and when the sad news of Benetta's miscarriage came, Katharine did her best to keep clear of her sister-in-law by having her son over to play with Ricciardi while the adults enjoyed their time together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But life went on as Marcello and Chanel's daughter grew into herself taking quite a bit after her mother though it was still early to tell if that would always be the case.
Tumblr media
April brought with it news from Newcrest that Antonio and Sarah's youngest son celebrated his sixth birthday with Orelia and her girls making it just in time to spend a few weeks with them even in the midst of the drama following the passing of Orelia's captain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the days turned to weeks of the pair growing closer from their mutual losses, it was little surprise when it turned to romance. Katharine couldn't help but be reminded of her teenage crush on Giuliano back when he only had eyes for her cousin and yet fate brought them together though in the worst of ways but it was nice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things moved quickly for the pair after that as neither saw any point in waiting and putting off something that would be good for them for very long. They were also grateful that their sons got along well enough as well and so as June came around they made their engagement official though they did plan to wait for the wedding until after Ricciardi's birthday.
Tumblr media
With her sister engaged to Giuliano, Chiara spent quite a bit of time at the Morosini household since she'd be moving with her sister after the wedding but late June brought sad news as Marcello and Chanel buried their young daughter.
Tumblr media
Ricciardi grew into a good child to the great joy of his entire family. Seeing him grow older made Giuliano release a breath he hadn't quite known he had been holding on to ever since the loss of the rest of his children.
Tumblr media
Not far behind him, Katharine's son Luca also grew into a little boy who was more than happy to trail behind Ricciardi and keep him company.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seeing that time was simply bringing their boys closer, Giuliano and Katharine married on September 12th though the wedding was a bit more rushed than intended since their frequent meetings made them suspect that their family might start to grow soon.
Tumblr media
While Vivienne's relationship with her mother had cooled all things considered being that they weren't speaking, Vivienne was still close with her brother though they were less secretive about it since their mother's husband began showing disapproval towards the young man since he started to grow up and thus their mother shut him out too though they were less combative. Family was tricky for Vivienne but she was also excited for the upcoming year as she was certain that she was with child once more and this time she was a lot happier about it than before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With news that they were expecting once again, much like his wife Giovanni Cesare was much more receptive to the news though he would have liked to have waited until after his contract officially ended before growing their family, he couldn't help but think that perhaps it was a good thing to have their family grow while his wife was still happy in her childhood home before things got upended for them. More importantly though, Giovanni Cesare made sure to spend extra time with his daughter before the baby, she was definitely more attached to her mother but that didn't make her relationship with her father any less special to the little girl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orelia made it back to the islands just in time to deliver her daughter Livia on December 27th. Knowing that the child was her late Captain's she decided to give her his name which thankfully didn't upset the captain's widow too much. While her girls were still young, Orelia was deeply grateful for the fact that she had three healthy children.
