Martin Schelling from Charité.
I'm new to the fandom and I feel like I'm late. Still I love the series and I love everything that is related to it.
I would be very grateful for fanfiction recommendations. I have read everything on AO3 so far.

What, you thought I'd let another Pride month pass by without uploading a colorful drawing? Hah! Bamboozled! ...The last few hours of Pride are still Pride, alright? And proud I shall be!
I challenged myself to redo an older picture with my current skilly level - this is from 2021, I think?
Honestly, I'm quite happy with how this turned out! I think the clothes are a lot better, although I still can't draw shoes / feet from a frontal view XD They aren't standing quite so stiff (and lopsided) anymore, the postures are better and, I like to think, the faces are better, too. At least they look a bit less doll-like, although I'm still not sure you'd recognize the Charité actresses form my drawing...
❤️ Inge Rapoport as played by Nina Kunzendorf (I like to think she's an ally to those two baby gay girls from her season's last episode who had been broken up by The Wall)
🧡 Margot Sauerbruch as played by Luise Wolfram (not officially a queer character, but it's very easy to see flirty undertones between her and Maria Fritsch; also I will never forgive them for dyeing her hair)
💛 Nurse Ariana as played by Patricia Meeden (despite them doing her dirty and writing her as a stereotype, I wound up liking her better than the season's main girl, so whatever; also the actress has glorious curls irl)
💚 Anni Marquardt Waldhausen as played by Mala Emde (I'm not sure why I think of this as Anni's "green dress"; it's very obviously black with a few green ribbons, but anyway, Anni has my favorite character arc among all the female main protagonists of the separate seasons)
💙 Sister Therese as played by Klara Deutschmann (finally a canon queer character! my darling, whom they've also done dirty, but all the more love to her here)
💜 Hedwig Freiberg as played by Emilia Schüle (am I the only one who thinks she's flirting with Ida all the time? considering her taste in men, that would've been the better choice...)
I've considered adding in 4th season characters, since Julia and Maral are out and married and all that, but honestly, Maral is a questionable doctor and a rather lousy wife, and Julia deserves better, so, no 4th season rep here.
This was not the best June I've ever had; I'm not in the best place. But I'm still here, still alive, still proud. And I intend to keep it that way.

Hi!!! If you're still translating, do you have any plans to do the 5th and 6th episodes of Chartié S2? If not, would you be able to point me in the direction of an official sub? (if one exists and is available outside of Germany/the EU) no pressures and no rush of course, and thank you for all the amazing work you do!!
Ever since my grandmother died, I haven't really been in the mood to translate at all. Maybe one day I'll return.
About Charité, I was told back in the day that it was available on Netflix. If it isn't in your region, you have to find your own video files but opensubtitles.org has English subs available for download for the entire series except the making off of the fourth season.

Two amazing fanfic moments I had this week:
Writing a fic for a fandom that is so small that 50% of the fics are all written by the same 3 authors and you have a favourite among them. Now imagine said author leaving a comment and a kudo on your fic!! Best moment of the week!!
Getting into a new fandom (even smaller than the first one) and finding a finished fic of > 100 000 words, with amazing writing and keeping you hooked until the end. Btw one of the best fics I've ever read in my life.
#I didn't think I would ever get feedback on my fics#and then this#so happy#in case you wonder about that long fic I found#fandom is Charité/Charité at War#German historical drama#watch it if you can

für das character ask game: 9, 14 (gerne mit Bildern, wenn du magst - wo du neulich meintest, du würdest mit ihm shoppen gehen) und 20 für Martin?
Let's see how far I get with this...
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
Yeah, absolutely. Neither of us takes much space, Martin doesn't seem to be big on the culinary side so the kitchen is my territory by default, he's quiet, he can handle people with emotional issues, and he won't put up with my shit when I'm in a bitchy mood.
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
I'll have you know that this question nearly broke me. But, uh, here's what I got? Does that count as an aesthetic? IDEK. I dub it "1940s son-in-law".
Yes, some of the models are women, because we live in times in which it's difficult to find colorful fashion for men. But come on, Martin spends decades of his life in DDR! I'm not putting him in modern monochrome. I wanted to include an allusion to his green shirt, but again, modern dress shirts for men are... eh. They're cut very slim. 1940s shirts bunch up way more at the beltline and the sleeves - which is exactly why I like them. As for the rest, yeah. Corduroy fishtail pants, suspenders, lots of knit sweaters and vests, can't forgo the flatcap. Ignore that one double-breasted coat; that was an American style, but it's also difficult to find German 1940s men fashion online that isn't, y'know, Wehrmacht uniforms :/
(I'm not gonna link back to every commerce and pinterest page I looked at, but I will source the ravelry patterns down under the cut.)
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?
Going with a platonic friend here although I think him and Otto being best friends is an excellent basis for their romance, I was tempted to reply "Anni" as I really enjoyed writing the development of their friendship, but it's more that Martin is the ideal friend for Anni than the other way round. The ideal best friend for Martin is probably Dr. Margot Sauerbruch. She doesn't have the parental vibes to him that team dad Prof. Sauerbruch gives off because she's closer to Martin in age, so they would be seeing more eye to eye, her panic when she hears Martin got arrested shows she clearly cares about him without biases, they share similar medicine ethics, and she can snark with him during the smoke breaks.

A very interesting chapter on how the war left its mark, whether on veterans or those who waited for their husbands or fathers to return, and not many did. Millie has lost her father and finds it hard to stay working in this charity. At the same time, she is blamed by the upper classes for putting her own suffering first and neglecting that of others. I liked Yor's intervention because she too is a victim of war, but she decided to become stronger for her brother because no one else could look after her and Yuri. And I like the fact that we see Melinda in a more positive light, in the sense that yes, she has her responsibilities as Donovan's wife, but she also has her family. Which makes her a little more nuanced, and I hope we'll get some moments between her and her sons, because I think it's important for her, but also for them. Besides, technically Loid is a veteran too, so I wonder whether he'll go or not, as it might bring back some bad memories.
