⌠Note: Previously posted on AO3 since I have basically no time or energy to write new stuff. It was titled Youâre what I need before but I always hated that title so I decided to re-name it. Bucky is kind of an asshole in this, but it's just because he wants you! As always, reblogs, comments, and asks are very welcome â¤ď¸
Masterlist | AO3
The worst part about watching from afar as a mission goes to shit is that you feel useless. Even as you dispatch medics for the team all you can do is tell them, "Help is on the way."
Captain America shouts orders that you hear through the comms. The wait feels endless until the crew of the quinjet declares that they have spotted the team and there's not much else for you to do but look at your monitors and wait for an update. When you get the call back that the team is secure you breathe a sigh of relief, but then the next message is to prepare the medical staff to receive multiple injuries and chemical exposure. You ask the crew to clarify, but they are too busy, so when you notify the medical center, they prepare a quarantine room.
Sometimes you wish you had a superpower and could be there with them instead of staring at your monitors and doing endless calculations on whatever the team needs. But then when they return they always compliment your work and tell you they donât know how they managed without you. You try to remind yourself of those moments at times like this.
Once the quinjet is docked and everyone has been accounted for you push away from your desk and remove your headset, taking deep breaths and trying to calm your heart. A moment later a message pops up on your screen, probably because they couldnât reach you through your comms. [Bucky wants you to come down here]
Your heart does a little flip in your chest, making you scowl. He is your friend and probably injured, you have no idea why he would be asking for you, but itâs not because he feels the same way you do. You grab your tablet and head to the MedBay.
When you get down you take stock of the situation. Nat and Steve have some scratches, Sam's arm is broken and Wanda has a few cracked ribs. Tony is bruised, his suit had taken most of the damage. You look around for Bucky but donât see him anywhere and quickly deduce that he must be the person currently in quarantine.
When you get to the wing, youâre almost too scared to go in, afraid to see what could have happened to him. Inside, you find a team of medical personnel discussing Bucky's condition with him through a glass wall. His hair looks damp and he's wearing standard-issue quarantine clothing, soft black pants, and a black sweatshirt. When he sees you standing patiently at the side he says. "You can come back later. I need to talk to her more than I need to talk to you. Go away." His voice comes from speakers in the ceiling.
You're shocked by his behavior but smile apologetically as the white coats pass you on their way out. When you get up to the glass you hiss. "Bucky, what is wrong with you, don't be rude.â "You make it sound like I'm never rude otherwise," he laughs. "You're not rude to healthcare professionals, you know better." You glare at him as you wake your tablet. âNow what did you need me for?â
"Do you like me?" he asks. Your mouth falls open and your heart starts to beat faster. Youâre happy your vitals arenât monitored as you quickly collect yourself and try to deflect his question. "Of course I like you Bucky, you're my friend." But now it feels weird to look at him and you find a spot on the wall far behind him to focus on.
"What if I want more than friends?" is his next question and despite your best efforts, hope warms your chest. This is not happening. Of course you toyed with the idea of you and Bucky, he is always sweet to you, and if he has the chance he brings you gifts from the missions. But youâve told yourself repeatedly that he needs someone stronger, who can keep up with him in the field and youâre not that person.
"Can we have this conversation when you are not high on some HYDRA drug?â you ask, trying to keep your voice from betraying you. They are monitoring everything in the room. And there is a sheet of unbreakable glass in between you both. If you're going to confess your feelings, it won't be like this.
"I'm not high," he huffs. "My mind has never been clearer." "I still think we should have this conversation later." "Doll, look at me." The command in his voice is so strong you donât think, you snap your eyes to his and they are so blue and soft.
"I will feel the same tomorrow, and the day after, whenever this drug wears off but now is the only time I can't hold my tongue," he explains. You place your hand on the glass and he does the same on the other side. "It will be fine Bucky, I promise," you say just as the door opens and Steve walks in, making you pull your hand back to your side. He's showered, in a fresh pair of clothes and he swings his arm over your shoulder.
"Stop hogging her time Bucky, I know for a fact that she also needs to debrief," he smiles but Bucky looks as if he's seeing red. Through gritted teeth he presses out, "Get your fucking arm off her, punk. She's mine."
You and Steve burst into laughter because it has to be a joke, but then Bucky punches the barrier with his vibranium arm. The glass doesn't crack but both you and Steve stop short and step away in shock. Steve removes his arm and says, "I'll meet you upstairs." Before quickly heading out.
You turn to Bucky and point at him, anger rising in your chest. "What is wrong with you? Steve is your friend!" "That is what itâs like in here every day,â he points to his head. You're taken aback by his statement and his wide feral eyes. Clearly, whatever he was exposed to had messed with his head and he's not himself. âBucky I need to go,â you tell him, and before he can protest you continue. âIâll see you tomorrow.â You smile feebly at him and are out the door before he can say anything else.
After debriefing and having dinner you go to bed early. Your head is spinning with the day and most of all, Bucky.
It's way past midnight when you wake to the soft closing of your door. Since you always sleep with a night light the soft warm glow reflects off his left arm and leaves no doubt about who has entered your room. You blink at him but before you can ask a question he rasps out, pleading. "I need you. So bad. Please doll, help me." He moves closer to your bed.
You quickly remove your covers and get up, glad the giant t-shirt covers you to your thighs, ready to spring into action. "Anything Bucky, what do you need?" You stop an arm's length from him, but all he does is reach his hand out to cup your face, letting his thumb stroke your cheek. There is a wild look in his eyes but you keep calm. "I can't get you what you need if you don't tell me," you whisper, meeting his eyes and watching as his brow furrows.
"I need you. Right now. If I don't get to touch and taste every inch of your body I'm going to lose my mind," he confesses in a low voice. His words shock you and you hitch a breath. Youâre not sure what youâre supposed to do. You have this great friendship. If things were different you would not have minded taking it to another level, but with the day in mind and the fact that he somehow got out of his containment room you say, "Bucky, youâre not yourself, you need to get back to-â
"Doll,â he interrupts with a hard voice. âFor once, I feel more like myself than I have in a long time. The only thing the drug did, I think, was remove my inhibitions. For once I feel free. My mind isn't controlled by HYDRA or by fear that you'll reject me. All I know is that I crave you and I can't be quiet about it anymore.â
"Bucky⌠IâŚ" your whole body is flushed with warmth from his words and you're not sure how to respond. "I dreamt about you and couldn't stop myself from going over here. I don't want to hurt you, doll, but I'm not sure this drug will let me leave. All I wanna do is move closer to you.â You swallow hard as he continues, thumb still stroking your cheek. âAsk FRIDAY to get Steve, or the Hulk if you want me to leave."
Instead, you step into him, making up your mind in an instant and resting your hands on his chest. "Stay, I'll be glad to help you with anything you need," you whisper honestly and by the way his eyes widen there was still some doubt in his mind that you would reject him.
Instead of saying anything his vibranium hand grasps your waist and pulls you closer. There is no escaping the smell and size of him and his hands on you got your pussy throbbing for him already.
"I hope you understand what you've agreed to," he whispers, leaning closer. "Once I have you I won't stop, you'll never be rid of me. I'll claim you against every surface of this fucking compound if I need to." That makes you whimper and press harder against him. "Fuck you'd like that huh? Are you a kinky little thing? Like getting fucked where people can see you and hear you moan, do you want people to see my hard dick spread you open?" "Fuck Bucky!" You exclaim and lean your forehead against his chest. Maybe that idea excites you or maybe it is just that the word âclaimâ sounds so primal.
"You're going to tell me all your little secrets later, doll. But now, I'm going to take what's mine." And with that, he crushes his lips to yours. He backs you towards the bed, kissing you the whole time, letting his hands explore you. When you land on your back, he stands over you with eyes like a predator about to devour its prey.
You shuffle up until your head rests on the pillows, spreading your legs for him. Without taking off any clothes he crawls after you, settling on his knees between your legs and placing his hands on the headboard, crowding you with his large frame. "Mine," he whispers and it makes a shudder pass through you. He ruts his clothed cock against your core, slicking your underwear even more and making you whine, gripping the sheets under you.
"Yes," he almost hisses as the length of his dick presses on your clit and forces a mewl out of you. It's been a long time since you've gotten laid. "Bucky," you plead. "No doll, I'm going to enjoy every fucking second of claiming you, from the outside in. Did you think this would be hard and fast and that I would be gone before you knew what happened?"
He lets go of the headboard to put his elbows beside your head instead, his weight on you, pressing you down into the mattress. "When I leave you will long for me, spend every waking second wishing I was still inside you. I want your cunt to be permanently drenched so I can fuck you whenever I please." He kisses you forcefully and any coherent thought that was left in your head flees. "And when you're too sore to take more of my dick in your pussy I'm going to do the same thing to your mouth and ass."
He rids you off your t-shirt and instead of having to move from between your legs to pull off your underwear, he rips them apart. "Ah!" you exclaim when the force of his movements jolts you but he takes no notice, he just stares at you, letting his hands roam up and down your sides, up to your tits, cupping them and caressing your nipples with his thumbs.
Whimpers are coming from you with every pass of this touch. Then he moves down and lays on his stomach, not saying a word as he sweeps his tongue over your pussy before he starts devouring you with a throaty moan.
It doesnât take long for the first orgasm to take you, his movements are precise and his words and actions have made you hornier than youâve ever experienced. Or maybe it's because he is the hottest person youâve ever laid eyes on and he only wants you.
When youâre finished and sensitive he dips his tongue into your hole to taste you and groans loudly, lapping up the wetness from your orgasm. "Better than I've dreamed of," he says when he pulls away. Now youâre the one that must be high because you can't help but giggle. "You seriously dream of me?" "All the time, doll. Every night when I go to bed I wish you were with me and then you plague my sleep with your soft curves and radiant smile."
You're about to tell him how his laugh makes you warm and fuzzy on the inside but at that moment he sucks your clit into his mouth, cutting out every thought in your brain. He's gentle but not hesitant, it's as if he's feeling you out and when you make a particularly loud sound he continues the same movement, making your whole body go hot.
The second orgasm is intense enough to send aftershocks through for a long while afterward. Bucky lays his head on your thigh as you tremble, caressing your skin and letting the fingers of his right hand skim over your opening.
Despite what he's already given you, you still crave more. His fingertips never come close to where you need them and when you whine at the back of your throat Bucky smiles up at you. "Don't worry, I'm not even close to done with you, but I don't want you to pass out on me.â One of his fingers glides inside, making you take a sharp breath just because it feels so good. Once again he is careful, moving slowly, listening to your breath and your body.
"Please Bucky, I need more.â "No need to beg, I'll give you everything you want⌠in time," he breathes and kisses the skin on the inside of your thigh. Slowly he moves his finger in and out. You're sure it's a form of torture. The sweetest kind there is. Your breathing is labored and when he finally adds a second, you start to quiver.
He nips at your skin and then kisses it before speaking. "You look like a goddess, doll, eyes filled with lust, your skin is gleaming. I'm going to worship you until you're tired of me.â "Never gonna happen," you whimper. Then his thumb lands on your clit, making you cry out. Everything is so sensitive and overstimulated.
"I don't- Bucky, I don't think I can again," you tell him even though his touches are causing your insides to melt. "Yes, you will," his voice is soft but the command is clear. So instead of trying to speak again, you sink further into the madness that is him playing with you. The third one takes its sweet time but you never feel rushed or stressed that it's taking too long. Bucky isnât in a hurry.
Then itâs suddenly there, crashing through you. "Fuck Bucky, fuck you're gonna make me come." "So good for me, let me feel you come on my fingers," he urges. "I'm going to lick them clean afterward so make sure you get them nice and wet for me. I want as much as you'll give me." The climax reaches its peak and you come with a cry of his name, body convulsing and your hand shooting down to tangle in his hair.
"Just like that doll," he smiles up at you and holds your gaze when he pulls out his fingers and sucks them clean, moaning while he does. It's a filthy sound, but it turns you on as if he didn't just make you come for the third time. Then he dives in between your legs again, licking at your skin and your soaked hole. Letting go of his hair all you can do is just lie there, writhing, as he somehow coaxes a fourth orgasm out of you.
âFuck me,â you plead when he pulls back. âI need you inside me Bucky.â This time he takes pity on you and moves away to take off his clothes. When heâs naked he kneels between your legs again and you spread them as wide as you can. "Want me, doll?" he asks with a smirk. He swipes his cock through your mess and then uses his hand to coat himself with you. "Yes," is all you can say. Both you and Bucky stare as he pushes his dick into you, filling you up completely. Of course, he takes it torturously slow this time too.
"This feels better than any dream I've ever had," he whispers almost in awe. You grip his biceps and arch into him, pushing him deeper, faster. That makes him tsk but smiles at the same time as he pushes the rest of the way, finally seating himself. Without giving you a chance to relax he starts fucking you, his cock pushes perfectly against your insides, pulling sounds from you that you haven't made in years.
He sits back on his heels lifting your ass effortlessly until your weight is resting on your shoulders and neck. It's like he is in a trance, pulling you onto his cock over and over again. Your body is his, your mind has fled, and all you see and feel is just him all around you. His eyes keep changing between his dick filling your cunt, your bouncing tits, and your half-lit eyes as if he is not sure where to look. "Mine," he rasps and thrusts hard to empathize the word. "All mine. Say it."
It takes some time for your brain to connect to your mouth and form the words but his gaze never leaves you. "Yours," you whimper. "I'm yours, Bucky." There is a familiar heat low in your belly that's steadily spreading through your limbs. It makes you wiggle and move because it's overwhelming. He is overwhelming in the best sense. Whining you reach down to rub yourself but he slaps your hand away. "I thought I told you, it's mine. I own this cunt. If you wanna touch yourself you have to ask permission." It's as close to a growl as is humanly possible and you don't understand how he can be so cognizant right now, because your brain is like putty. "Can I please rub my clit Bucky, I wanna come on your cock so bad," you cry.
"Good girl," he praises, and when he calls you that, your mouth falls open with a keening sound, gripping the sheets even harder, pulling at them because you want to come so bad. "Do it, show me how you get off when you're alone in bed without me." Everything is slippery and sensitive when you start with your fingers and you immediately know it's going to go fast. With his previous words in mind, you ask. "Can I come?" He meets your eyes with a wicked smile. "Fast learner. Yeah, you can come⌠when I tell you."
You rip your hand away, afraid you might fall over the edge at any second. The sound out of your throat is almost a sob. "Don't be like that, doll, I thought you said you couldn't do it more times?" "I can-I can! As many times as you want just please let me come." "Fuck, I like it when you beg with my cock in you." But he doesn't say anything else, just continues fucking you. He's not even winded while you're straining your entire body. Your hand wants to move back, anything to relieve the pressure inside you but Bucky was very clear and you donât want to disobey him.
Then he pulls out and drops you onto the bed, but you don't get to relax because he flips you onto your stomach and pushes one of your knees up to the side before he presses in. His dick hits your G-spot dead on and you scream into the pillow under you. Bucky chuckles right by your ear. "Guess I found it." He's merciless, his hips hit your ass hard and if it weren't for his weight pressing you down you would soon hit the headboard.
"Bucky!" you wail because it's too much. You're losing the last pieces of your mind to the sheer force of the pleasure and you're scared you're never going to be able to come back to yourself. Then his hand presses in between you and the mattress. "Rub yourself on my fingers, make yourself cum. Fuck my cock and come all over me doll." You brace yourself as best you can and move your hips as he keeps almost completely still, just shallow thrusts in stark comparison to what he was doing to you just moments ago.
His fingers slide along your clit, his cock brushing your G-spot over and over again. You're breathless, sweat breaking out along your skin, but the climax you're chasing will be well worth it. You just know it.
"I can't fill you up until Iâve felt you come around me," he grunts, his voice tight with holding back. You whimper, the feeling of fire flushing your whole body, and building up to an eruption like no other. "Yes, yes, yes," he chants low in your ear. "That's it, come for me, make me proud. Fuck it feels so good." And he starts moving again "I'm going to fill you fucking full of my cum. That's it!"
The heat in you breaks and you come with a shout of his name, shaking under him. It gets even more intense when Bucky finishes right behind you, groaning your name. He collapses on top of you but his hips are still moving, slowly, as if he doesnât want it to ever end. Neither would you but your body is wrecked.
When he finally rolls off, you're so close to falling asleep, but he picks you up and carries you to the bathroom. "Pee." He points and you want to tell him that you know the drill, this isn't your first time, but all that comes out is a grumble before he closes the door behind him and you sit down on the toilet.
When you're done, you stumble out and have a moment of panic, thinking he left. But then the door opens and Bucky returns with two bottles of water, handing you one before leading you to the bed and sitting you down on the edge. Gratefully you drink and lean against his shoulder before asking. "How do you feel?" "Better than I have in a long time," he answers, kissing your forehead. You chuckle. "Yeah I have a magical pussy, it can cure anything," you joke and it makes him laugh. "You should get back to quarantine," you comment. "Before anyone notices." He shakes his head. "No I'm staying here, I'm never leaving you again." He takes the bottle from your hand and places it on the bedside table together with his own. Then he crawls beneath the sheets and you go after him, letting him envelop you in a tight embrace before you fall asleep.
Alarms blare and you wake with a start. "FRIDAY what's going on?" you ask out into the room. âSergeant Barnes has escaped his confinement.â The voice echoes through the room. You sigh and glare at Bucky grumbling beside you, like the loud signal is just a regular alarm clock. "FRIDAY please inform the team that Bucky is here and everything is fine."
A second later the sound dies and with a sigh you get up to pull on yesterday's discarded t-shirt and find a pair of pants. Right when you're done there is a knock on the door and Steve asks, "Everything okay in there?" You open the door enough to show yourself. "We're fine, he broke out during the night and came here." "Oh," Steve says and there is a hint of blush on his cheeks.
Then you feel a presence behind you and Buckyâs arm goes around your waist. "Mine," he says and you can't see him but he's probably glaring daggers at Steve who backs away. "We'll be okay, I'll alert FRIDAY if I need help," you tell Steve. When you close the door Bucky turns you before pushing you up against it and kissing you hard. "Mine," he mumbles against your lips. "Fucking caveman," you tell him. He grabs you around the waist and throws you over his shoulder. "I'll show you caveman," he says and carries you to the bed

Criminal Minds Masterlist
When Hotch had notified the team to haul their asses up and drove all the way to D.C., Spencer never expected that it would also entail him having to suffer through a mini heart attack.
The series of attacks around D.C. had been dominating the 6 PM news segments in the entire country. What was initially perceived as a suspected sequence of robberies gone wrong--since the first two targets to have been hit were a bank and a prestigious auction house--soon turned into a nationwide panic as people realized that there was a bigger game at play.
After the third attack was found to have occurred in the headquarters of one of the top, up-and-coming renewable energy startups in the states, the D.C. police finally started to entertain the idea that perhaps they hadn't been dealing with their usual petty robbers at all.
And naturally, that was when the BAU had been called in.
As soon as the team entered the Metropolitan PD bullpen, they were struck with the smell of panic and the sight of chaos.
"Agent Hotchner?" A middle-aged man in a gray shirt and blue tie appeared in front of them. "My name is Detective Mills, we spoke on the phone."
"Of course, Detective." Hotch shook the other man's hand. "This is my team. Agent Prentiss, Jareau, and Dr. Reid. I have two others already at the latest crime scene. What can you tell us so far?"
"As you can see--" Detective Mills gestured towards the frenzied scene behind him, "--the entire D.C. area is going haywire after news broke out about yesterday's attack. The public is demanding the city to be put on lockdown, and I'm getting pressure from above as well. We received information that nearly half the city has called in sick today."
"A classic response to mass paranoia," Spencer noted.
"Well, paranoia or not, I just want to start getting some answers." Detective Mills began to lead the team further into the bullpen. "I have every pair of hands I could spare in this. If they aren't out there chasing leads, they're here interviewing the victims, friends, and families."
"Any luck so far?" Emily asked.
"Nothing more than what you've probably seen in the files."
Detective Mills pushed open the door to an office in the corner, away from the havoc in the center of the station.
"Lieutenant Jeffreys retired a couple of weeks ago. The lucky bastard." Detective Mills scoffed jokingly. "It's the most decent space I can spare at the moment. Think you'll be fine in here?"
"It's more than enough, Detective. Thank you," Hotch replied.
"What about the witnesses from yesterday's attack? Have you had the chance to interview them?" JJ asked as the rest of the team started setting up.
"Some of my men are with them right now. But I doubt they'll have anything useful. Just like the other two cases, the attack happened while most of the office was out. The rest left behind were DOA at the latest scene."
"They're rapidly devolving," Spencer pondered out loud as he skimmed over the case files. "They went from killing a non-compliant security guard during the first attack to executing almost every witness in the last one."
JJ raised an eyebrow. "Almost?"
"It says here there is one survivor." Spencer showed the word he had underlined in the case overview to JJ.
"Yes, there is," Detective Mills confirmed. "I had one of my men talk to her. There's not much she could give us. Thing is, she wasn't even supposed to be there."
"What do you mean?" Emily asked.
"She didn't work in that office. She was a consultant who just happened to be visiting. Poor girl's pretty shaken up. She hid in a supply closet the entire time. She was the one who found the bodies and called 911."
"So, the perpetrators never checked the rooms while they were holding the victims hostage?" Hotch questioned.
"Not according to her statement, no. See, I thought it weird myself. Do you have any idea why?"
"Not sure." Hotch hummed, deep in thought. "Perhaps our UnSubs didn't think to check because they didn't know someone was in there. Detective, you said all of the victims were the only employees of the company who didn't attend the event downtown, correct?"
"Yeah, they were the only ones who weren't listed as attendees. Why? Do you think those people were specifically targeted?"
"Unfortunately, we can't rule out anything yet this early in the investigation," Hotch said. "We need to talk to the witnesses to know more. JJ?"
"On it." JJ nodded. "What can you tell us about yesterday's sole survivor, Detective?"
"Not much. I didn't interview her personally, one of my men did. She works at a consulting engineering firm in town," Detective Mills replied. "I believe her name is... what is it called?"
When Detective Mills mentioned the name, Spencer's heart instantly crashed inside of its cage.
"What?" His hand had stopped scribbling on the board. In a matter of miliseconds, Spencer had crossed the room towards the doorway where Detective Mills was standing. "What did you say her name was?"
Dumbfounded, the detective stared at a dread-stricken Spencer before spelling out the name once more.
"Why? What's wrong?" Detective Mills asked in confusion.
JJ touched Spencer's shoulder. "Hey, you okay?"
But Spencer, either too alarmed or merely choosing not to acknowledge both questions, asked instead, "Where is she? I need to see her."
"In the waiting room by the pantry--"
Spencer didn't even wait for Detective Mills to form his complete thought before dashing out. JJ exchanged a glance with Emily following Spencer's sudden exit, perplexed by his odd turn of behavior.
"I'll go get him," JJ announced before leaving the room, chasing after a flurry of wavy hair and a wool-knitted purple vest sprinting across the bullpen.
The roaring commotion inside the station was almost loud enough to rival the intensity of your racing thoughts.
Almost.
At this point, you didn't think there was anything you could do anymore. The vivid images from yesterday's attack were playing continuously in your head. There was nothing you could do to stop them.
Rubbing your eyes from exhaustion, you mourned the loss of sleep that you failed to get the previous night. As if the waking nightmares weren't torment enough, the images had somehow translated even more cruelly into your subconscious. You could barely close your eyes for three seconds without feeling like you had been brought back to that place.
Cold, cramped, and alone. Fearing for your life in the tiny supply closet that smelled more like death than bleach.
At the sound of the door opening, you quickly turned around in your seat to hide your face away from prying eyes. The last thing you needed at that moment was having a complete stranger seeing you fall apart in the middle of a police station.
But when the voice came carrying the sound of your name, it wasn't the voice of a complete stranger you had heard. It was a voice you knew more than you probably knew your own. A voice you loved and a voice you had longed to hear for the past gruesome twenty-four hours.
"Spencer?" You turned back towards the door, seeing the face you adored most in the whole world staring back at you.
"Sweetheart."
At the speed of a lightning, Spencer dropped to his knees in front of you and gathered your broken little pieces into his arms.
Spencer's touch was everywhere. Your hair, your neck, your shoulders. As if he was checking whether you were real. That you were actually there inside his arms, and you were not a simple imagination that his mind had conjured up.
Surrounded by the safety of his embrace, you could feel the shattered pieces of yourself beginning to mend once more.
"Spencer," you uttered his name again as you pulled away, still in disbelief that he was physically there with you.
"I'm here," he promised you as he cupped your face gently.
"Spencer, what are you... How..."
"My team is working your case. We arrived half an hour ago," he explained simply. "Sunshine, why didn't you tell me? I thought you were still in Alaska?"
You had previously apprised Spencer that you would be hard to reach during your trip since you would be spending most of your time at the power plant site where cellphone receptions were scarce. So when an entire day went by without him ever hearing from you, Spencer didn't have any reason to be worried.
Never in a million years would he have ever predicted that you'd be caught in the middle of a hostage situation.
That thought alone caused Spencer to squeeze your hand a little tighter than usual.
"I'm sorry, Spence," you said sincerely. "My trip ended earlier than planned. I arrived back yesterday morning. I actually wanted to surprise you last night. After yesterday's... incident, I wanted to call you, but my phone was shot--"
"Wait, what? You were shot?"
"No! No, baby. Not me. Just my phone," you assured him. "But that's why I couldn't call. I did attempt you once using this station's phone, but it went straight to voicemail."
At the new piece of information, the colors immediately drained from Spencer's face.
"That was you? Fuck. I didn't--I didn't know. I rejected the call because I didn't know it was you."
"Hey." You stopped his guilty rambling with a hand to his cheek. "It's okay. I'm okay. I'm just glad you're here."
And then, because Spencer needed to make sure that you really were okay, he pulled you back into his arms and held you even tighter this time.
"Uh, Spence?"
The sound in the doorway snapped you both out of your mutual reverie. You looked up to see a blonde woman there, staring in an equal mixture of shock and confusion at the sight in front of her.
Spencer begrudgingly untangled himself from your arms before getting up to approach her.
"JJ, do you mind if I do the cognitive for this one?" Spencer asked.
The woman--JJ-- shifted her eyes a few times between you and Spencer. "Um, of course. I'll just go and inform Hotch. Tell us if you need anything."
After JJ's departure, Spencer closed the door again to award you both a much needed privacy.
He grabbed a wooden chair from the corner and dragged it before sitting down right in front of you.
"I need to start the interview now, sweetheart. Think you're up for it?"
Your whole body went rigid for a matter of seconds before you forced it to restart again. It was gone as soon as it came, but Spencer noticed it just the same.
"Look at me," Spencer ordered softly, using his delicate finger to nudge your face up until he was looking straight into your eyes. "I know it's scary. I don't want you to have to relive yesterday either, but it will help us catch whoever did this."
"I've told the police everything I knew yesterday. I was hiding the entire time." Like a coward. "I didn't see anything. I don't have anything else that could help you."
"I know that, sunshine. But as I've told you before, our method is slightly different. We won't be just focusing on what you saw, but also what you smelled, or maybe even heard." Spencer took your hands then, squeezing affectionately. "I'll be here with you the entire time."
The nod you gave him was hesitant, but it was a start nonetheless. You listened intently to Spencer's words and closed your eyes just as he had instructed.
"We'll start at the beginning," you heard him say. "Why don't you tell me why you went there yesterday?"
"I, uh, received a call from my friend, Nick, after my plane landed. We had been communicating back and forth since his company seeked my consultation for one of their upcoming projects," you began. "I wasn't even supposed to work because I had requested the day off. But Nick said it didn't have to be a formal meeting, so I agreed to meet him."
"Tell me what you remember after arriving at the office."
Your mind traveled back to that specific time one day prior. You remembered walking into the place and seeing its unusual state of vacancy even though there was still a good half an hour left before lunchtime.
"I just assumed everyone had gone to lunch earlier and shrugged it off," you recalled.
Spencer nodded his head. "Did anything else strike you as out of the ordinary?"
"No? I don't... I don't know. It was only my second time being there, I'm not sure what was normal and what wasn't."
"Okay. That's okay. You're doing good so far, sweetheart," Spencer quickly interjected, trying to get you to calm down before your distress could turn into a full-blown panic. "Now, what did you do next?"
"I followed Nick into his office."
Nick was keeping his promise true. It hadn't felt like a formal meeting, just two old college buddies reminiscing about the past and discussing possibilities of the future that, of course, included the company's upcoming project which you would be working on with him.
"I excused myself to the bathroom at some point," you added. "When I first heard the commotion, I thought nothing of it. It's like the idea that a group full of armed men had taken over the building didn't even cross my mind. I mean, why would it? I was on my way back to Nick's office when I saw them."
You recalled turning a corner after exiting the bathroom only to see those figures carrying machine guns and shouting at everyone to get on their knees or put their hands above their heads. You remembered sprinting the way you had come from and opening the first door you could reach that just happened to be the supply closet.
"Let's go back to the moment you saw them," Spencer urged gently. "How many people were there? Do you remember any conspicuous detail? Maybe one of them had tattoos or spoke with an accent. Anything that distinguished them."
Taking a deep breath, you tried replaying those crucial seconds slowly in your head.
"There were four of them. I couldn't see much. They were all wearing identical black clothes."
Suddenly, an unexpected piece of memory rushed to the front of your mind. You opened your eyes in shock, meeting Spencer's curious gaze that had been kept intently on you the entire time.
"I think at least one of them is a woman," you told him.
Spencer's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Are you sure?"
"One of the guys said something about... fucking this place up. And then she laughed. I heard her. It was definitely a female laugh."
"Good. That's good."
"Yeah? Do you think it'll help?"
Spencer nodded assuredly, bringing his hand to leave calming strokes on your head. "I know it will. You've done a great job, sweetheart. I'm proud of you."
The praise Spencer gave eased the tension in your shoulders. As if having been granted fresh air after decades of confinement, you were finally able to let yourself breathe again.
Spencer continued his loving strokes on your head. Little by little, the weight of his touch melted the resolve you had built into a pathetic puddle on the floor. Without its mental shield protecting you, your tears sped forward, gathering in your eyes until they spilled on the vast path down your cheeks.
"Hey, hey." Spencer's voice was laden with panic after seeing you start to cry. "Sunshine, what is it? What's wrong? Talk to me."
"I-I just... God." You struggled to get the words out in between sobs. "I'm a coward, Spencer."
"What?"
"All of those people... They died because I was a fucking coward."
Your admission tore into the air before stabbing Spencer right through his chest.
"Sweetheart, you know that's not true."
"But it is!" you cried out, pulling away from Spencer's grounding hold around your shaking body in favor of your own arms. "I was a coward. I ran and hid because I was too scared to die. Too scared to fight. If I had just tried a little harder, I could've called for help. That way, maybe all of those people wouldn't... And Nick wouldn't..."
A haunting image flashed behind your eyes. The image of Nick's limp and lifeless body on the floor, among those of the others. You remembered crying next to him, punching his chest, body, and arm despite having seen the gunshot wound on his forehead. It took you another five minutes before you eventually managed to gather yourself together, found a phone, and dialed 911.
Not that it made any difference. They were all already dead.
Spencer could hear his heart breaking at the sight of you curling into yourself, recoiling from his touch because you somehow believed you didn't deserve his affection at that moment. If Spencer could just transfer all of your pain towards him, he would. Seeing you beat yourself up that way over something that happened and was done to you was the worst kind of torture he ever had to endure in life.
And Spencer had been through more kinds of torture than the general population in the world.
Deciding that he had seen enough of your self-deprecating torment, he reclaimed your hands inside of his palms and urged you to look at him.
"Are you hearing yourself right now?" Spencer asked incredulously. "How can you even think that way? Sweetheart, what happened to those people, to Nick, it is not your fault."
"B-but, if I hadn't run away--"
"Then you would've died, too," he cut you off. "Sunshine, there were four of them with machine guns. No one stood a single chance against them. Those people were there to kill. There was nothing you could've done."
It was a hard pill to swallow, but Spencer needed you to hear it.
He needed you to know the truth no matter how unacceptable it was.
"If you hadn't hid from them, we would've found seven bodies there instead of six. And I--" Spencer took a shuddering breath, "--I would've lost you."
Your shoulders deflated at his revelation. "Spence--"
"So please--" he searched your eyes then, using his thumb to sweep away the remaining tears under your eyes, "--stop holding yourself accountable. I promise I will do everything I can to find those people and make them pay for what they did."
Spencer's vow triggered a new wave of tears that compelled you to sink into his awaiting arms. He let you stay there until you had cried your tears dry. It was something he also secretly needed for himself after suffering through the short-lived horror over the mention of your name in relation to the heinous case. He just needed to make sure that you were okay.
A few minutes passed by with you in his arms. Eventually, Spencer had to tear himself away to finish his job. He asked you to wait as he wrapped up the transcript of your cognitive interview, along with his professional report over it.
"I need to run somewhere real quick. I promise to be back in a couple of hours," he notified JJ as he handed her the interview report. "Tell Hotch for me? Thanks."
Without waiting for his friend's reply, Spencer rushed back to the waiting room before leading you out to take you home.
Back at your apartment, Spencer guided you towards the direction of your bathroom as soon as you had stepped into the threshold.
"Are you trying to get me naked, Spencer?" you remarked playfully after he refused to let you take your clothes off yourself.
"Yes." The gleaming mischief in your eyes caused him to flick your nose lightly. "Just to get you ready for your bath. Get your head straight, will you?"
You scoffed at his back as he turned around to check the water temperature in the tub.
Once you were submerged safely inside, Spencer left the bathroom to give you some privacy. Meanwhile, he began rummaging through your drawers to pull out a change of clothes, a towel, and a clean sheet for your bed.
By the time you exited, Spencer had changed your bedsheets and lit one of your favorite candles on the bedside table. He asked you to sit down on the bed as he kneeled before you, helping you put on the pajamas he had picked out with little prints of sunflowers on them.
None of Spencer's touches were sexual. They swept over your skin with the care of an artist handling their most precious work. When his eyes found yours, you swore you could almost cry from the intense adoration that seemed to shine so brightly out of them.
As he guided you to lie on the bed, you were surprised to see him following suit. He got under the covers with you, pulling you close to tangle every inch of your limbs with his.
"I love you, Spencer," you admitted to his chest, heart heavy with the deep appreciation and overwhelming affection for the man beside you.
Spencer looked down at your confession, finding his favorite pair of eyes already looking earnestly at him. Instinctively, he reached for your chin with his fingers, tugging your face upward until he could capture your lips with his.
The kiss was slow. Careful. Filled with silent promises and discreet reassurances. When you both parted, Spencer didn't pull himself away. Instead, he let his forehead touch yours while his eyes stayed closed.
"Will you be here when I wake up?" you asked quietly.
"Yes, sweetheart. Now go to sleep."
Although the two of you knew his answer was a lie, you both chose to pretend otherwise. You knew Spencer still had responsibilities to fulfill, along with a promise to you that he intended to keep. You knew that when you woke up later that evening, Spencer would already be long gone, and you would be forced to bask in the traces of himself that he had left behind.
But for now, Spencer was still there, in the comfort of your bedroom, lying on the bed next to you. And that knowledge alone was good enough for you to finally drift further into the land of sleep, surrounded by the warmth of Spencer's loving embrace.
"I'm telling you," JJ insisted, looking at her entire team minus Spencer and Hotch. "There was definitely something going on between them. Why else would he request to take over the cognitive for me?"
"Maybe he was feeling generous," Rossi deadpanned, earning an unimpressed glare from JJ.
It had been a full week since the BAU team had arrived in D.C. to investigate the series of gun attacks in the city. Just the day prior, they had successfully made their fourth arrest, bringing this case to yet another satisfying conclusion in the eye of justice.
If nothing else was amiss, they should have been on their way back to Quantico in less than an hour. In the meantime, though, JJ felt obliged to gather her team members in the middle of the bullpen to share her suspicion about a certain scene she had accidentally caught on their first day working the case.
"Pretty boy did seem more emotionally involved in this case than he usually does, though," Derek pointed out.
"Right? Right?" JJ replied almost too enthusiastically. "Come on, aren't you guys at least half as curious as I am about who this mystery girl might be? Don't you wanna try finding out who she is while we're still here?"
They all stared at each other in hesitation.
"Or, we could just ask Spencer directly and let him explain?" Emily suggested, receiving incredulous looks from the other three in response. "Yeah, you're right. What did you say her name was again?"
"I don't remember," JJ answered.
"It must be listed in the files somewhere, right?" Derek immediately sprung into action, reaching towards the scattered case files that might contain the name they were looking for.
"Just to be clear, I am not taking any part in this." Rossi sighed.
"Got it!" Derek waved the offending file in hand, giving it to JJ, who instantly began skimming over it.
"Alright. Says here that her name is..."
JJ read the name aloud when unexpectedly, an answering sound sprouted from behind them.
"Yes?"
Every single one of them turned in shock at your voice. You smiled at their wide-eyed expressions, waving your hand a little awkwardly in the air.
"You!" JJ exclaimed.
"Me?"
Emily nudged JJ in the ribs, making the blonde woman wince.
"Y-you're the witness from the startup case, right?" JJ said, trying to rectify the situation.
"That's me."
"What can we do for you, Miss?" Rossi asked, stepping forward and away from the rest of the group.
"I'm actually looking for Spencer. Do you know where he might be?"
"Spencer Reid? You know Reid?" Emily asked.
Before you had the chance to reply, the man in question came strolling into the bullpen, rambling animatedly to Hotch who was walking beside him. The moment Spencer caught sight of you, though, he immediately abandoned Hotch's side and rushed towards where you were standing.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
"Looking for you, of course," you told him, fitting yourself easily into Spencer's side as his arm went around your waist. "Hi, Hotch."
The older man called your name in greeting. "I got your message. You wanted to talk to me?"
"I wanted to ask you--well, all of you, actually--" you glanced around at the other team members, "--if maybe you all would let me treat you to lunch? As a thank you for your hard work on the case."
Hotch nodded in response. "It's fine with me. We don't have to be back until tonight, anyway. Everyone?"
Instead of replying to your offer, Emily voiced aloud the question that was circling everyone's mind.
"You know her?" Emily looked at Hotch before dragging her eyes away towards you. "And you know him? You know each other? How?"
You gazed up at Spencer's eyes, seeing them shining with the same mirth as the one you felt dancing in your stomach.
"I guess this is supposed to be the part where I introduce myself, isn't it?" You chuckled.
Extending your palm, you shook each of their hands while telling them your name, them responding back with theirs even though you already knew who was who long before you had even met them.
"I still don't understand," JJ admitted after you finished shaking her hand. "How did you know Spencer and Hotch?"
Once again, you looked into Spencer's eyes, a question bouncing around in yours. Spencer's nod of affirmation was the only go-ahead you needed.
It's time.
"I'm Spencer's girlfriend."
"She's my wife."
You turned your head towards Spencer in shock.
In front of you, Spencer's teammates were causing an uproar.
"Wait, what?" Emily stared dumbfoundedly.
"You have a girlfriend?" Derek asked in disbelief.
"You're married?!" JJ shrieked.
"Hold on a second," Rossi interjected, holding his palms out as if to tell everyone to stand down and calm themselves. "So which one is it? Girlfriend or wife?"
And that was how you found yourself sitting in the private VIP room of your favorite restaurant in the city with some of Spencer's closest people on earth.
"That's the craziest story I've ever heard," Emily pondered in astonishment.
Rossi, Derek, and JJ were all wearing an identical look on each of their faces after hearing the story of how you and Spencer met: by drunkenly getting married in Vegas after only knowing each other for barely one night when you both weren't even twenty-two yet.
"If someone were to tell me yesterday that there's another member of this team who also went to get married while drunk in Vegas, I would have never even thought of mentioning Spencer's name," JJ mused.
At your curious expression, Spencer explained, "Rossi also got drunkenly married in Vegas to his third ex-wife,"
"Why didn't you two get a divorce?" Emily suddenly asked.
It was something that everyone who knew about your situation with Spencer had questioned at one point or another. The real answer was because you and Spencer had both been reluctant to go through the nasty and lengthy legal process of getting a divorce. Therefore, you decided to part ways without doing anything about it, vowing to only track each other down if one of you ever needed to end the bond because of another impending marriage or any other urgent matter.
But that reason alone was usually not enough to appease people's curiosity. And over the years, you and Spencer had poked fun over that particular fact by coming up with the most outrageous lie you could muster up.
"She wanted to get a divorce," Spencer fabricated smoothly. "I persuaded her otherwise because I had this inkling that someday we were gonna fall in love."
Usually, any other people would coo sweetly at Spencer's statememt.
But these weren't any other people. These people were Spencer's family in more ways except flesh and blood, and even without their profiling skills, you knew they could see right through Spencer's little deception.
"That sounds like bullshit to me. Doesn't that sound like bullshit to you?" Emily asked, turning to JJ for support.
"Yeah, that was bullshit, alright," JJ claimed vehemently, prompting an innocent-looking grin from Spencer and a series of chuckles from everyone else.
"When did you two start dating, then?" Rossi spoke up from one end of the table.
"About two years after Vegas, right?" you estimated, to which Spencer nodded in confirmation. "He strolled into my place of work while he was on a case, and then he asked me out."
Derek sat up on his seat after hearing the new information. "Wait, when was this? Why didn't I know about this?"
"The beginning of my second year in the BAU," Spencer offered. "Elle knew."
"Elle? Elle Greenway? You told Elle but not me?" Derek looked offended.
Spender shrugged nonchalantly. "Elle was assigned with me that day."
"Unbelievable." Derek slumped back down in his chair. "Penelope is gonna freak when she finds out what she missed today."
"Penelope? Oh, she already knows," you told him.
That revelation earned a collective disbelief look across the entire table.
"Yeah... I, uh," you cleared your throat, "I actually just went shopping with her two weeks ago."
"You've got to be kidding me," Emily muttered.
"You told Penelope but not me?" Derek sounded hurt as he pointed his accusatory stare at Spencer. "You even told Hotch!"
"I didn't tell Garcia. She dug through my history and found it out herself. Had to bribe her with candies and chocolates for a whole month to keep her quiet," Spencer grumbled. "And I had to tell Hotch. We needed to add her number to my emergency contact list."
Despite Spencer's concise explanation, Derek still seemed unsatisfied by the whole ordeal.
"How long have you known?" he finally decided to ask Hotch.
"A while," the man answered from his seat at the opposite end of the table from Rossi. "They even babysat Jack a few times for me."
"I don't believe this," Derek scowled. "Pretty boy's got himself a girl for the last six years, and I never knew? Outrageous."
"Technically, we've been married even longer than that," Spencer responded, as if he was unaware of the imminent glower that Derek was sending his way. "Eight years since Vegas."
"That's longer than any of my marriage," Rossi remarked before sipping his drink.
The laugh that resonated upon Rossi's little comment elicited an affectionate smile on your lips.
"So, you live in D.C., then?" JJ asked, at last stirring the conversation away from the topic of your and Spencer's secret marriage-slash-relationship.
"I do, yeah. But most of the time, I live out of my suitcase," you answered. "My firm has clients all over the country. A few overseas, as well. I'm lucky if I even get to have an entire week to sleep uninterrupted in my own bed."
Even then, you truthfully quite enjoyed the work you had to do. You didn't mind having to travel some place new every other week. In fact, you somehow believed that your constant need to travel for your job, and Spencer for his, was one of the reasons why the two of you worked so well together.
Although people might think that two adults who had to travel for a living were a recipe for a disastrous relationship, you and Spencer had so far proven otherwise. Because of your respective schedules, you could sympathize more with the other anytime they had to go somewhere urgent for work. It only made you savor every single second you spent together because of how much precious each one of them became.
The rest of lunch unraveled with the same bucket of smiles, jokes, and laughter. It felt good to finally tell the few people who meant the world in Spencer's life the truth about your relationship. It was also a huge relief to see them opening their arms and welcoming you into the family without an ounce of hesitation.
"Hotch?" Spencer called out after everyone exited the restaurant. "Will it be okay if I stay in the city for one more night?"
"As long as you promise to be back for tomorrow's briefing," Hotch reminded sternly, but the meaningful look he passed over you before he entered his vehicle spoke of a thousand things left unsaid.
"It was so nice meeting you," JJ said as she took you in her arms. "And I'm sorry again about your friend."
"Thank you. And thanks for all of your hard work in catching those guys."
"Of course, it's what we do." JJ smiled as she pulled away. "Invite me and Emily the next time you and Penelope hang out, okay?"
"Will do," you promised.
You watched as every single one of them scrambled into the two black SUVs, waving your goodbye until the cars drove out of your sight.
"I think that went well," you commented before looking up at Spencer. "Do you?"
"I think it went as well as it could."
"So--" you began, circling your arms around Spencer's neck, "--we have more than twelve hours until you're expected back at Quantico. What do you wanna do?"
Spencer nudged your nose with his. "I can think of a few activities we can partake in."
"Really?"
"Really."
Just as he was a hairbreadth away from pressing his lips to yours, you suddenly tore yourself out of Spencer's arms.
"Like getting some frozen yogurts?" you asked giddily, smirking at the dumbfounded look that you managed to put on Spencer's face.
"Fine. Let's go get some frozen yogurts."
Spencer had to hide his amused grin at your elated squeals. He was more than content at that moment to let you produce those addictive sounds at the mere prospect of frozen yogurts.
But later that night, he had a whole different set of activities lined up to pull those same sounds out of you once more.
And it might or might not potentially involve an entirely different yet creative use of frozen yogurts as well.
Spencer simply just hadn't decided yet.

Eddie Diaz x Reader
Can you do a fic based off of 911 5x13 Fear-O-Phobia where Eddie destroys his room with a baseball bat but instead of Eddie destroying it Y/n does.
my tears ricochet
pairing: Eddie Diaz x fem!reader
summary: you work in a call center, answering emergency calls and you thought that no call would break you anymore, but today you have reached your breaking point
this fic is based on season 5 episode 13 âFear-o-Phobiaâ
word count: 2,2k
authorâs note: this fic contains references to child abuse and self-harm, please read with caution!
You're on shift again today and you're pretty tired at the end of it. You had an hour left before the end of the day and you really couldn't wait to get home to Chris and Eddie, even though you knew Eddie would be back a little later than you.
âLong day, huh?â â you break out of your thoughts and see Josh in front of you. You had a fifteen-minute break and decided to have coffee.
âDonât even start, itâs like this full moon curse decided to show up earlier.â
âI feel you, but guess what? You will be free soon and my night will be long.â â Josh sighed and went to pour himself a cup of coffee too.
âLucky me, I guess.â â you got up to go to your desk and continue taking calls. âBack to service.â
You sat down at the table and gave yourself a couple more minutes to get ready for the last hour of work. This job was difficult, sometimes your emotions could take over, but you thought you had already learned to control them. And even if you thought about quitting, those thoughts went away after a minute, because you knew that you were the first person people counted on when they were in danger and you wouldn't trade it for anything.
You put on your ear piece and come back to help people.
â9-1-1, whatâs your emergency?â
âPlease, my dad is going to kill me.â
You hear a child's trembling voice and your heart turns over.
âSweetie, tell me whatâs going on? Are you in danger?â
âMy dad gets aggressive when he drinks, he took his gun.â
âIs he threatening you with a gun? Are you in any pain?â
âHe pointed it on me, but I ran to my room. Daddy hit me in the head, I feel dizzy.â
âOpen the fucking door!â â you hear a drunken male voice and banging on the door. You need to be fast.
âOkay, honey, help is coming. Tell me your name and address.â
âIâm Audrey, 354 N Spring Street.â
âAll units, 354 N Spring Street, the man is intoxicated, he is armed and threatens his daughter. Possible child abuse and injuries.â
You quickly notify units about this and it takes your breath away. You need to save the girl, no one will get hurt today.
âOkay, Audrey, help is on the way, I will stay on the line, until they arrive. Is there anyone else at home?â
âNo, itâs just the two of us. Please hurry, heâs going to break the door!â
You feel a tear rolling down your cheek, but you quickly brush it away.
âHelp will be with you in 5 minutes. In the meantime, I want you to listen to me, okay? Hide under the bed or in the closet and try to be quiet, sweetie.â
You can hear the movement on the other end of the phone. Your palms are sweating and you're breathing fast. Your whole focus is on this girl.
âOkay, I'm under the bed.â
âGood job. Help is almost there, Audrey.â
The next thing you hear is a broken door and a little girl screaming. You hear a man swearing and a loud bang. You can't control the tears.
âAudrey, are you there?â
But there is silence in response. All you can hear is Audrey's screams and pleading for dad not to hit her anymore. Your hands start shaking and you feel like you're suffocating, everything is in a blur and slow motion.
âLAPD! Raise your hands and move away from the girl by 3 meters.â
You hear the voices of the police, but it's too soon to exhale, you don't know if it was too late. You feel Josh's hand on your shoulder and only now realize how much you're crying.
âDispatcher, this is 134, the girl is unconscious, but stable, got here on time. Weâre heading to the hospital.â
It should be a moment where you exhale, because the girl is alive and she will be fine, but you can't shake the feeling that you could have done more. This is not the first call from a child in your career, but it was the first call where you heard everything in "action" and it broke you.
You open the front door to the house and walk inside on weak legs. God only knows how you got home, because everything seemed to stop and you were alone in this trap. The girl's scream is still in your ears, and burning cheeks remind you of tears that you couldn't control. All you wanted right now was to be alone.
âHey mommy.â
You hear Chris's voice from the living room and go there. He started calling you mom not so long ago and you loved it. You accepted him as your own child and Eddie always made sure to thank you for that.
âHey, baby. Is dad home yet?â
You wanted Eddie to be at home, he was your safe place, who always dispersed the clouds when they appeared over your head. But another part of you wanted him to still be at work because you didn't want to explain what happened.
âNo, but he should be in an hour.â
âOkay. How about I make you dinner and turn on cartoons while you eat? Mommy is not feeling well and I would like to lay down for a bit. Are you going to be fine on your own?â
âSure, I wanted to watch cartoons all day!â
Chris smiled broadly and it melted your heart. He's so cheerful and positive that sometimes you thought you needed to learn from him. You loved him with all your heart and if something had happened to him, you would have died. But one question haunted you - how can you protect him if you couldn't protect the child at work?
You put a sandwich in front of Chris and turned on his favorite cartoons. He thanked you, you kissed him on the forehead and went into the bedroom. After closing the door, you sat down on the bed and finally let out all your emotions. You were angry, sad and crushed. You were angry at yourself for not being able to do more, you were angry at this worthless father who allowed himself to treat his own daughter like that, and you were angry that now you weren't sure you could save Chris if it was necessary.
Tears were pouring from your eyes, this cutting pain in your chest, which was growing with every second and this feeling of utter helplessness drove you crazy.
You didn't know what was driving you, but the next thing you knew it was the bat in your hands and the first blow to the wall. You never thought you had that kind of strength because that punch left a hole in the wall. You scream, this scream is more like a plea and each blow gets stronger. You don't hear anything that's going on around you, you just hit the bat against the wall and scream, thinking that it will make your pain less real.
Tears are still pouring out of your eyes, you can feel the salty taste in your mouth. You throw the bat on the floor and it falls with a loud bang. Now your hands are hitting the wall and you feel your knuckles getting scratched, but you didn't care. Now the most horrifying screams are coming out of your throat.
âHey, buddy. Iâm on my way, do you want anything?â
âDad, please hurry up! Mommy is not well.â
âWhat do you mean? What happened?â
Eddie's body immediately tensed up and he accelerated the car to get home faster.
âI donât know, I keep calling her, but she wonât answer.â â Eddie heard heavy thuds and screams in the background.
âOkay, Chris, donât worry, Iâm almost here.â
Eddie ran to the house and opened the door. During those minutes while he was driving in the car, he wanted only one thing - for both of you to be okay.
He saw Chris near your shared bedroom and immediately ran up to him.
âChris, are you okay? Whereâs mom?â
âShe locked herself in the bedroom. I tried to call her, but she was screaming really hard.â
âOkay, buddy. Sit in the living room, please, Iâm gonna go get her, okay?â
âOkay.â â Eddie watched Chris go.
âHey baby, itâs me. Can I come in?â
He didn't hear anything. Just the silence that didn't give him any peace of mind.
âOkay, Iâm going to come in, (Y/N). Stay away from the door.â
Eddie kicked down the door and was finally able to enter the bedroom. The first thing he saw were holes in the wall. He took two steps and saw you sitting on the floor with your back leaning on the bed frame. Your legs were pressed against your chest and your head was in your lap. Eddie saw your shoulders shaking and heard you sobbing.
He immediately knelt down and cupped your face in his hands so that you could look at him.
âHey. Hey, hey, Iâm here, baby. Whatâs wrong? Please talk to me.â â he saw your red eyes and wet face from crying.
When you finally looked at him, you saw his frightened eyes. He was looking for an answer in your eyes and patiently waited for you to explain everything to him.
âHe almost killed her, Eddie. I should have done more. I heard everything.â â the tears started to flow with renewed vigor and a sound more like a whine came out of your mouth.
âShh, mi amor. Iâm here.â â Eddie wrapped you in his arms and you cried into his shoulder. He stroked your hair soothingly and said sweet nothings in your ear. âLet it out, baby. Iâm right here.â
He hated seeing you like this. He knew that his job was difficult and that he was risking his life, but he knew that your job is 100 times more difficult emotionally because you hear every pain, fear and suffering of other people when you get a call.
âWeâre right out here, Chris, donât worry.â
You are now in the kitchen and Eddie has left Chris's room. You were sitting at the table and looking at your hands. Your knuckles are red and swollen from the blows and your head has so many regrets. You scared Chris.
âIs he okay?â â you asked in a whisper and didn't want to think about hurting Chris. That's your biggest fear.
âHeâs still scared. Makes two of us.â
Eddie sat down across from you and you looked up. You were so upset for what you had done and it was eating you up.
âIâm so sorry. The last thing I wanted was for Chris to be scared of me.â
âHey.â â Eddie took your hand. âHeâs not scared of you, he was scared for you.â
âDid he call you?â
âHe did. I got here as fast as I could.â
You chuckled. This scenario is ironically similar. A call from a child who asks to be saved from a parent. Only his call was to save you. And it hit you with an epiphany. You wanted so badly to never put Chris in danger that you unwittingly reproduced it into reality.
âI got a call today.â â you finally started explaining. âIt was a little girl and she asked for help, because her dad was abusing her. A-andâŚâ â your voice faltered, but you continued. âThen he beat her up and I heard her screaming.â
âOh, mi amor. Iâm so sorry.â â Eddie squeezed your hand, but you got up and walked over to him. He immediately realized that you wanted to sit on his lap and gave you this opportunity.
âI still canât shake the feeling that I should have done more. And now I doubt that I can protect Chris. I canât even do it at work.â
âLook at me, (Y/N).â â he put his hand on your face and looked into your eyes. âDo you know why Chris started calling you Mom? Because he feels safe with you. You make him feel loved and protected. And that's all we can both ask for. You are enough.â
He kissed your cheek and continued.
âIâm sorry you had that call and you had to hear all of that. But you did everything and even more, Iâm sure of it. You saved that little girl. Who knows what would have happened if help had arrived 2 minutes later. But YOU did everything in time.â
And you realized that your job does not consist of personally being at the scene of accidents. Your job is to make sure that help arrives at the right time and you did a damn good job.
You smiled and felt relieved. You didn't look at this situation from Eddie's point of view and that's what got you. You wrapped your arms around Eddie's neck and buried your fingers in his hair.
He pressed you closer and kissed you on the shoulder. Every bad thought disappeared when he was around. And his arms always caught you when you started to fall to the bottom.
You heard the notification sound on your phone and pulled it out of your pocket. It was a message from Josh:
âAudrey is alive and stable. They say it was perfect timing.â
âAlways on time, huh?â â Eddie saw the message and smiled at you.
âI like to be punctual.â
He pressed his lips to yours and kissed you gently. He's always here to rescue you, and you're always here to answer quickly.

Hoh boy, another part? It's so over. This au is by the great @yuukirita! Check out their stuff!! Part 1 here :)
_______________________________
The first thing he felt upon waking up was that it was unreasonably cold. That and it was really, really dark. Bright blue optics blink, adjusting to the sight of the mouth of a trash chute, at least, thatâs what he thinks is one.
Seeing as something is falling rapidly down and heading right towards him at max speed.
Wait. âOWW!â Metal hits metal, the sound echoes across the empty, dusty place, bouncing off the walls.
He held his face, the pain flared up multiple warning pop-ups, notifying him of the damage. He shifted upright, with another sudden flare of pain, felt something hitting his shoulder pad and falling down next to his hand with a small âclankâ. Looking down, lo and behold, a yellow triangle-shaped piece of metal laid there.
A hand shot up his head to check, patting around, he felt another similarly shaped thing on the left side, nothing on the other side. Damn.
He sniffs, optics blurring with tears threatening to fall at any point.
Itâs just a small little piece, sure, but it hurts. Ridiculous, really, he shouldnât be tearing up at this, especially when he shouldâve seen that junk falling down coming.
Wait, but how would he even know that?
He knows that, he knows this place.
Quickly, he decides to get out of the bin, you know, before another piece of trash comes down and knocks out the remaining triangle thing on his head.
He reached up at the rim of the trash bin and hauls himself out, landing on the ground with a huff. Just in time to hear another loud slam of trash falling down, hitting at where he had initially activated, phew.
Looking around, with every movement, he kicked up more and more dust from the floor. He sneezed and scrambled upright, stumbling a few times whilst trying to get used to his new, shaky limbs. Why is even standing difficult?
He doesnât know, he doesnât know a lot of things. Like his name, for example. Or designation, what does that word even mean? Thatâs a long word, feels something like a name, but not really. What he does know, though, is that he is familiar with this place.
As he stumbled about, his bright, round optics awed at everything, eventually reaching a tall, looming door blocking the way out (?). It looks worn down, dented in many places and looking like someone rammed multiple times into the center of it, creating a small crack at the bottom corner.
He blinked, looking up, the panel next to the half-destroyed door was way too high up for him to reach, what would he even put in it anyways?
How does he even know what that is?
What the pit is going ON?
Letting out a frustrated sound, he crouched down on the dirt ground and squeezed his body through the crack, scratching the yellow paint on his body in the process, not that he minds.
With a few more wiggling, he finally got himself out and through the other side. He huffed, blowing the dust that is floating around away as he stands up, exploring the new area he just got access to.
ItâsâŚthe exact same as the other room. Blank, gray walls, looking old and in a similar state with the door. There were a few pictures lining the right wall, this time, all plastered with a blue and golden mech grinning and throwing a thumbs-up. He stares at the words along the pictures, âWork hard for the Iacon cause!â.
Which, disappointing, but not too bad, he presumed. Pretty boring, if someone asks him.
And empty, and lonely. Cold, quiet.
He found that he hated the silence.
Luckily, he didnât need to deal with the quietness for too long, because a voice rang out, jolting him into a squeak.

Bend The Knee | Aegon ii Targaryen x Reader
Summary: You have been called upon at court to bend the knee to the newly crowned king, however, a surprising turn takes place when you bend the knee.
Warnings: Smut, Minors do not interact, male oral receiving, oral as a demand, adult content, slight female receiving.
A palpable undercurrent of terror unfurled its tendrils within you as you ventured through the hallowed halls of the red keep. The subtle cadence of your heels created a delicate patter, resonating against the stoic stone floors, each step echoing the rhythmic pulse of your heart, which had quickened its tempo within the confines of your chest. The ominous ambiance of the surroundings enveloped you, casting shadows that danced in eerie tandem with the disquiet settling in the air. The very essence of the fortress seemed to be imbued with an unspoken tension, as if secrets whispered among the walls, and the weight of history bore down upon you, amplifying the sense of foreboding that clung to the atmosphere like a shroud.
How could one not succumb to an overwhelming sense of terror while traversing the path leading to the throne room? The ominous summons from the king, directed specifically at you, added a layer of apprehension that hung heavy in the air. This unsettling journey unfolded in the aftermath of the harrowing executions, where both your brother and father met their demise for adamantly refusing to yield before the might of Aegon Targaryen.
The weight of grief and defiance still lingered, casting a somber shadow over your steps. The very air seemed charged with a palpable tension, the echoes of the recent tragedy reverberating through the corridors. Each footfall echoed with a haunting resonance, a morose rhythm that mirrored the throbbing ache in your heart. The throne room loomed ahead, its imposing doors a portal to an uncertain fate.
As you approached, the memories of your fallen kin and their unwavering loyalty to their principles pressed upon your consciousness. The foreboding atmosphere intensified, a testament to the gravity of the situation. The iron grip of fear tightened its hold, fueled not only by the formidable presence of Aegon Targaryen but also by the specter of the irrevocable losses suffered in the name of steadfast allegiance.
As the grand doors swung open, revealing the regal spectacle of the throne room, your gaze fixed upon the newly crowned king. Adorning his head was a formidable black crown, adorned with a radiant ruby at its center, a symbol of authority that seemed to cast a profound weight upon his brow. His dark, penetrating eyes met yours as he beckoned you forward with a commanding yet composed presence.
"Lady Y/N, come closer," he declared, his voice unwavering and devoid of menace. The resonance of his command held a magnetic power, drawing you toward him. The air in the throne room seemed to pulse with a peculiar intensity, as if the very fabric of destiny hung in the balance.
Complying with the regal summons, you gracefully approached the throne, your steps measured and deliberate. Standing before him, the gravity of the moment became palpable. The ruby at the heart of his crown gleamed like a beacon, a testament to the authority he now wielded. The silence that enveloped the room spoke volumes, punctuating the significance of your presence in Aegon's gaze.
"I ask of you what I have asked of all my subjects. Prove yourself loyal." Aegon notified you, his voice hung with authority with each word that echoed through the throne room. You stood before him; despite the loyalty that your father and brother had put their life on the line for you were not willing to die. they made their choice and you could be nothing but proud based on the honor they were willing to die for. therefore, you made your own choice.
You sunk down to your knee and looked to the ground as you pledged yourself loyal to his crown. However, a great confusion managed to overcome you as you heard a small laughter come from the king.
"Both knees, lady y/n." Aegon spoke with a certain chuckle to your tone. A great confusion engulfed your senses by his sudden amusement. Still, you complied wanting to ensure that you made it out of this room with your life. You now rested before him with both your knees flat on the ground.
"Come closer," he urged as you gave a small slide on the ground. Remaining on your knees he let out a groan in anticipation. "Come here," he let out an eager demand grabbing onto you by your waist and sliding you so close to him that your knees were touching the iron throne. You were between his legs, looking up at him with pitiful eyes as he smiled. It was only now that you had noticed the growing erection in Aegon's pants and the sudden blush that covered your cheeks.
"Open my pants and use your mouth to show me how loyal you are to your king." Aegon demanded of you, sitting back as he looked to you waiting for you to make a move.
"B-but your grace . . . "you attempted to struggle. "I am a maiden I do not know how to do such a thing." you suggest your voice stuttering in tear unable to look up to meet his eyes.
Aegon let out a sigh as he took your hands. "It is not hard to do. I will show you," he insisted grabbing onto your hands and pulling them to his pants.
He helped you open the button holding them together and brought your hand to the inside of his pants. His cock felt soft against your hand and was throbbing from the very contact you offered. Aegon guided your hand to pull it out and your eyes widened at the sight of his cock before your face. Aegon could not help but to smile at the way your eyes looked to bewildered at the sight of him.
"Now open that sweet mouth of yours," Aegon demanded, you complied without hesitation. You knew what was to happen next and you worried any lack of performance would result in the end of your life and therefore.
With your mouth open wide he grabbed you by the roots of your hair and sank you onto his cock. It was a strange feeling, to have one in your mouth. It tasted slightly salty and you could not help but notice the vein that was pulsing against your tongue as he sunk you onto him. He let out a loud groan of pleasure begun to sink back into the throne.
With this gloved leather hands rooted into your hair he looked at you with his cold eyes, biting on his lip as he begun to force your head up and down on his cock. You complied with the action, however, begun to gad the further he forced your head down. It was perhaps for a moment you attempted to wiggle off a bit to ease from the gagging but Aegon only took efforts to force you down further.
"Hush, Hush. Relax sweet thing that's part of it." He insisted to you as he continued to force your head up and down on his cock until he had balls deep, forcing your lips to swallow his entire length.
"Fuck- Fuck, you're so beautiful when you're swallowing my cock like that." Aegon let out in a groan, still listening to the wet sounds your mouth made as it engulfed his cock. His boots sliding across the floor as he attempted to hold out. But there had been something too good about the feeling of your mouth around him.
Aegon soon pulled you off his cock, watching as the spit that trailed from your mouth and down your chin connected to his cock. Aegon stood before you, his hand in your hair still as he forced you to look up at him. "Fuck, yes-" he let out in a moan again as his cold eyes remained on yours.
Aegon kept you looking up at him as he began to release. The only thing you could do was look up helplessly at your king as he begun to release his seed across your face, watching as it dripped down your cheeks and onto the fine lace of your dress. "You look so beautiful with my cum ruining your innocent face." He said with a smile. "Good little loyal subject," he took a second to praise you while he stuffed his cum covered cock back into his pants.
"Rise," He remanded and you complied standing to your feet, his cum covering your face, you dared not move. However, you were met with sudden shock when Aegon went to his knees, the king before you on your knees was certainly not what you were expecting and he lifted up your dress. Aegon was now before your clothes womanhood and he soon pressed his face against it, taking in a deep breath as his other hand held your back steady. You let out a small yelp and could not help the involuntary struggle.
"Hold still- you are still proving yourself." Aegon reminded you and you attempted to so, looking as his nose pressed into your cunt and he took deep breaths in. He let out a hum of approval as he pulled his face away and begun to pull your underwear down just far enough to expose yourself to him. Aegon did not hesitate, his tongue managed to do a swipe across the inside of your cunt and he soon let out another hum.
"Gods, you little whore. You fucking loved that. You're dripping wet, like a ripe peach." Aegon said, with his hands holding onto your waist his tongue went in again. it licked and sucked and while you found pleasure in it that was not his intention. No, Aegon was trying to suck out every drop he could. However, after a few moments he pulled away, pulling down your dress but leaving your underwear exposed.
"You are expected at my chambers at nightfall. I believe I know a few others ways to test your loyalty."

Chuuya Nakahara x Reader (NSFW)
The thought of Chuuya wanting a kid wanders through his mind, until his impulsive thoughts finally let out
1893 Words || Rough Sex, Consensual Non Consensual, Baby fucking, Small age gap implied, Dark Content (?)
(Not proof read!!)
English isn't my first language any mistake found please notify me about them and I do take criticism!!
___________
âOne wouldn't hurtâŚâ
You were sitting at the dining table with Chuuya on the opposite side.
His rambles going on and going about wanting to start a family.
âReally? I just don't think-â âI'll take breaks from my job to take care of you and the baby.â
Pressing your lips together, and darting your eyes to the side you weren't sure if this would he a good idea.
He was an executive of the mafiaâŚAnd there was an age difference, not a big and drastic oneâŚBut there was one. The thoughts and issues kept wandering your head more than the concept of spending wonderful time with a child.
âY/nâŚjust really think about it-â âYou know what sounds so good right now!â Cutting him off purposefully, you stand up from your chair and begin to head your way to the kitchen before stopping in your tracks to face him.
âSome muffins? Don't y'a think?â A big smile on your face as you kept cutting him off âWhat about-â
âDo you want blueberry or strawberry? You know what? I'll just pick last minute!â
Saying it in a giggly tone you headed to the kitchen.
You begin to take out all the ingredients from the pantry. Flour, sugar, eggs, you name it.
Bringing out the bowls, one fell on the ground creating a loud noise as it hit the kitchen floor.
âYou alright dear? Need some help?â His voice could be heard, getting nearer towards you
âUh- Uhm no I'm okay!!â Reassuring him.
You didn't want him to come to the kitchen and hear about his blabbers about trying to convince you on a kid.
Without lying, you have thought about it. As much as you would want one or two, you knew you had to say no to him. Because the dangers could be high.
So as much as your heart wanted to say yes, your head always responded with a long complicated answer leading to a no.
As these thoughts kept wandering through your head, you continued on mixing the wet ingredients perfectly and shifting the powder with the dry ingredients.
Now you weren't sure whether to use vanilla or almond extract⌠Or maybe both
Not like it mattered, Chuuya liked everything you made.
Taking out the small muffin tray pan and prepping it, you made a small little gap in the center of the dry ingredients and added the wet ingredients, continuing toefold the mixture together.
Now here came the hard part⌠Were you gonna use strawberries or blueberries?
Resting your hand on your chin, looking back and forth between the two berries deciding which to use, you felt a pair of lean arms slther around your waist.
Catching you off gaurd, you turn around and saw Chuuyas face in the crook of your neck as he held you, slowly rocking you side to side.
âWhichever, I don't mindâ âUghâŚYou're so clingy~â Trying to get out of his grasp to continue baking, he held your closer and tighter.
âTake a break, you seemed overwhelmed.â His soft voice could be heard as he whispered into your left ear.
He turned you around and kept holding you close.
Just from the close proximity, you could feel your face becoming hot as he just starred at you with half lidded eyes. âC'mon dollâŚâ
His face leaned in closer and closer, pressing his lips against yours.
At first you tried to push him away and get your face away from his, but you knew that wouldn't work.
He kept on kissing you, slowly leading himself to your bottom lip, then to your jaw kissing it upwards and going lower.
No matter how much you tried to resist this sudden act of affection, he continued to keep his kisses close to your collarbone before stopping.
Looking at your eyes directly âYou're so pretty doll.â â...What's up with you today?â
âNothing!â He said in a whiny voice âBut I think I want something sweeter than muffins todayâŚâ
He let go for a second before leaning down and grabbing your legs together, carrying your over his shoulder.
âHey! Put me down! Chuu â Hitting his shoulders in an attempt to stop and put you down âNot a chance~â
Lifting your head, you couldn't really turn your head around much, but just by the path he was going you knew where you were ending up.
You heard him slightly kick the door open and walk inside the room. Plopping you on the bed, bouncing one or two times from how he placed you.
He closed and locked the door, not letting any of the lights from the living room or kitchen nearby show, only making the room darker.
He hovered directly over you, lifting your short slip on dress up a bit in the process.
You moved to your side trying to avoid his gaze. Regarding his face caught your jaw and forced you to look at him. âDon't act stupid doll, I've read your diary when you leave it open. You want one too, but your afraidâŚâ
âHuhâ Your eyes open slightly upon hearing that.
âPromise, I'll take care of you.â His stuck pinky out waiting for you to grasp it with his.
Raising your hand to do the same. Just milliseconds before you were about to though, he shoved his lips onto yours.
Kissing you deeply, and with your hand right there he held it tightly from the wrist.
Suddenly moving his head lower
He pressed deep kisses onto your neck, causing you to moan.
Letting go of your hands, he lowered himself in between your thighs and slowly with a stern voice âLift your dress up for me will ya doll?â
Embarrassed, you did so at a slow pace.
He pressed soft kisses on your inner thighs. But you tried to move away a bit. Because of this, his hands went to your hips to try to keep you from moving.
Keeping his soft kisses in a trail as he got to your clit. Slowly pressing his tongue on it and sucking it. Making you throw your head back on the pillows.
âMphm, want- a tasteâŚâ He said before he trailed lower to your entrance.
Teasing you with his mouth as you kept moaning softly trying not to make so much noise.
âDon't be like that dear, I want to hear you.â
He said before he stood slightly up. And without realizing you had noticed he was already out of his pants.
He probably took them off with his spare hand while he was eating you out.
Chuuya hovered over you again, starring into your eyes, caressing your face before he kissed you deeply again, but this time teasing your entrance with his tip.
Using his pre-cum as lube.
Your were sensitive, and he knew that. This was just cruel âC-Chuuya~â âSay what?â âPleaseâŚâ
âPlease what dear? I need to hear itâŚâ He brought his ear closer as he had his hand on your chin adjusting it upwards. âI need you in me please please pleaseâŚâ
He leaned away from you face, starring down at you. Until he picked you up and without any warning trusted into you.
âAgh~â Your hands gripped his back, as he continued to thrust into you with any warning.
âGod- AhâŚyou're so-mghâ
Your pussy twitched around his cock, as he kept his fast pace, making you scream his name out to slow down.
He was rough, but at the same time he was loving. Telling you sweet things as he practically tortured you with his cock.
With one hand around your waist, and the other fingerings your clit, you couldn't help but whine at his roughness. âAh~ Chuu- ChuuyaâŚâ
He kept his fast thrusts, plunging into you second by second.
You felt the tension inside you grow more. Wanting to release you heard your boyfriends voice. âCum when I say so.â
âMhm- Mphm~!â Nodding as twin tears fell from your cheek.
Feeling that tingling feeling down there, Chuuya wouldn't stop going hard inside of you. Only causing you to let the walls hear your scream out in agony and pleasure.
âYoure- so pretty hah~â
As you arch your back, his cock thrusting inside of you becomes sloppier. âMph⌠Gonna fuck a-baby into y'a.â
His cock was so girthy and wide, he was basically forcing it into your tight little wet pussy.
Turning your head to the side in embarrassment he notices and grabs your jaw again. âDon't look away..â
You could feel your orgasm approaching, and Chuuyas as well.
He began to start to let out noisy yet sharp and heavy breaths.
While you kept moaning loudly as well as letting out deep breathy complaints.
Chuuyas mind was going wild. He held you down more and more, grabbing more of your hips to push his cock inside of you. âCum!- for me doll, cumâŚâ
His body and yours tensed up, slowly stopping, as he kept groaning into your ear.
Your thighs were shaking, as you finally came on his dick. allowing the tension to release.
âHah agh- Ah~â Rolling your eyes back and arching your back once more as you felt his warm cum inside of you.
Allowing it to drip out of your fucked up pussy.
Orgasming a few seconds little later than Chuuya,
Eachothers mixing together. You held him close as you were sore from how he practically forced his cock inside of you.
You let go and laid spread on the bed, panting, trying to catch your bbreath.
Chuuya finally took his cock out of you, as it continued to drip onto your upper thighs and lower stomach.
âMmm.. So tired..â
Chuuya swept his hair, upon hearing you say that he look at you again.
âHuh? You think I'm done with youâŚâ
Your panting stops, you look up at him, you notice his half lidded eyes still checking you out from head to toe.
âYou still have this damn dress on⌠I also have to make sure I fuck that baby into youâŚâ He pressed his finger against your forehead âGot it?â
___________
It was the morning after a dreadful and long night.
You were snuggled tightly into the comfy bedsheets and a blanket Chuuya had brought for you after he was done with you.
It seemed like what, 2 or 3 hours of him going at it non stop?
You thought he wouldn't stopâŚ
âRise and shine!â
You heard the door open, and to your surprise you see Chuuya standing at the door, but with something in his hand.
âHuh⌠What?â Your voice was still groggy from taking him all night too. âWhile you were asleep, I had the muffin batter in the fridge, I just popped them out the oven here doll, try oneâŚâ
He handed you a muffin,
Taking a close look at it, -it was true. They were nicely baked and toasty at the top.
Taking a bite out of it, your eyes widen, âMmm!â
âI picked strawberries for the muffins, even I'd I don't prefer them. Read it in your diary too.â
He then sat next to you in bed, with the plate full of muffins. He placed his hand over your shoulder causing you to fall onto his chest.
Hugging you closely
You both stayed like that until the plate had 3 little muffins left.
Maybe having a kid wouldn't be all that bad?

NO PICTURES, PLEASE ft. DAVID 'HESH' WALKER
Author's note: dedicated to all the Hesh fans out there, this is a hard send lol
Warning(s): Fluffy fluff, Slightly Sexually Suggestive, AFAB!Reader
Keegan is having difficulty rifling through the photos on the notably expensive Sony A7R IV that he purchased for you to capture pictures of No Man's Land when he sent you out on a surveying mission. It was imperative to conduct a reconnaissance of the area for environmental assessment purposes. The Sergeant had previously expressed how vital it was to gather data that was relevant for any potential future infrastructure development, disaster response, and management following the ODIN incident. Sounded simple enough. And yet, Keegan is left puzzled by the initial fifty images out of a whooping two hundred and fifty that is starting to show a discernable trend. They're all images of Hesh.
Now, this wouldn't be such an issue if they were the images that he had specifically requested you to take on said mission. But it was practically a full-blown photoshoot of pure pretty boy.
"[Name]." Keegan pinches the bridge of his nose as he takes a deep breath before he continues.
Your lips curve into a charming smile. "Hmm?"
"Can you tell me what is wrong with these photos?" He points the screen of the camera in your direction.
You lower your head to get a good gander of what he was referring to: Hesh standing in perfect golden hour lighting that seldomly peaks over the horizon and paints him a pretty shade of tangerine. He looks ethereal, and your smile only grows.
"Mmm, I think they're perfect. Follows the rule of thirds. See." You point to how Hesh is not perfectly centered.
For a moment, Keegan's eye twitches and he can't decide whether he wants to slap the absolute shit out of you for insubordination or for your sheer lack of regard for what he was asking of you. It is blatantly obvious to him (and the other Ghosts) that you have a raging crush on Hesh, though to be fair Hesh was completely oblivious to it. Nonetheless, it is absolutely infuriating when you choose not to follow orders and, instead do a candid imaging session of your Lieutenant.
"That'sâkid," Keegan breathes out. He's weighing out his options. Keegan isn't the type to yell at a woman, but he's almost provoked to do so. He chooses not to engage in a manner that will upset you, so coddling it is.
"Hm?" You peer up at him with cutesy, puppy eyes and fortunately for you, his gaze softens and it's easier not to be so enraged by the situation.
"Ya gotta crush on Hesh or somethin'?"
Your smile falters and you feel the heat sidling to your cheeks and ears when those words fall out of his mouth, and he has to stifle the laughter that's threatening to erupt from his chest.
Your eyes dart to the ground as you awkwardly shift your weight. "Um, what gave you that idea?"
He's studying the way you nervously rub your arm and he almost feels bad for asking.
Another exhale. "Nothin', kid. I was just messin' around is all." He hands you back the camera and gives you a knowing look.
"I'm willing to overlook this if you take this seriously." His voice has a bit of an edge to it. You glance up at him and nod with a pout. "Go round up Hesh and update him on the mission. You'll need another go around."
Your face lights up and you begin to dial up Hesh's number to notify him.
"And one more thing," Keegan calls out to you and you hear Hesh pick up. His voice like the purest heroine, but you have to rip your attention away to listen to your experienced Serg.
"No photoshoots"
You grin and give him a thumbs up as you jovially skip away. In all earnest, you did not hear what he said. You are too enraptured by your crush's voice to listen to what Keegan is yapping about, and part of him is aware of that. So as a precaution, he may or may not have warned Hesh ahead of time about your recon mission to keep you in line.
"No pictures, please!"
Hesh giggles, raising his hand to conceal his face from the camera pointed in his direction.
"Aw, just one! We already wrapped up what we needed to!" You maneuver the lens to capture his dimpled grin that melts your heart. But Hesh is not giving in. He's under strict orders not to permit you to take pictures unrelated to your assigned objective. However, your infectious laugh and the adoring gaze from those pretty eyes of yours are proving to be quite the distraction.
He halts his actions, contemplating whether he should just allow you to have your way. After all, you did complete the necessary task, so maybe one photo wouldn't hurt?
"Alright, just one." He chuckles, giving in to your ridiculous demand. But he's already being prompted to model on the large boulder bolstered against a blossoming weeping willow. The view behind him overlooks a glimmering lake, teeming with wildlife in the afternoon sun.
And Hesh is like a Disney princess. Cottontail rabbits approach him at his ankles and a hummingbird lands on his shoulder as if it's a rest stop. It's a picture-perfect moment as you snap away at his gleaming smile that beautifies his already handsome face. It's taking you all your willpower to not rush at him and shower him with all your affection.
A small huff leaves your lips as you store the camera back in its original weatherproof pouch. You think that it's probably for the best if you both start to head back to base, and notify Keegan of a successful mission to avoid any unnecessary reprimanding. As you zip up the storage bag and absentmindedly make your way toward Hesh who is preoccupied with feeding his leftover trail mix to a black squirrel, your balance seems to waver and you're crashing down face first. Luckily, Hesh secures you in his taut arms, but he's fumbling with his own equilibrium and completely loses his composure, leading you to collapse into the shallow end of the lake in a raucous splash.
The water is quick to sodden your uniforms, and you're pressed up against Hesh's rigid and saturated body. You meet his gaze and he's gawking up at you with flushed cheeks and reaming eyes. You imagine that your expression had a certain likeness.
"I'm so sorry..." Your eyes glaze over his soaking white shirt that's now giving you a pretty good view of his herculean torso. And you honest to God hadn't meant to memorize every delicious carving of his toned midsection, but it was right there.
And Hesh is by no means innocent either. His wandering emerald eyes are just as guilty as yours. Instead of your usual, mundane tactical brassiere, you're sporting a baby blue lacey bra, an oversight that transpired because you were too engrossed in hurrying off to your one-on-one mission with Hesh. And when your dilated gazes meet, your stomachs do a little flip that have you clamoring to get up.
You wordlessly extend your hand to him, and he accepts it without hesitation, responding with a polite yet quiet "thank you." Water trickles down your drenched forms and the silence is deafening. That is until Hesh bursts into a fit of laughter. He's carding his fingers through his dark, moistened locks and shaking with mirth. The type of joy that's contagious as hell, and you have no choice but to join him.
A zephyr sweeps past you and it sends a chill up your spine, and your nipples are poking through your sheen shirt. Hesh is rushing out of the shoal of the lake to grab his (thankfully) dry tactical jacket to envelop your shivering body. It's warm and smells just like him. Spicy vanilla, patchouli, and warm amber waft into your senses. Your breath hitches when you feel the pad of his thumb brush the apple of your cheek, perching the loose strands of hair that cling close to your eye behind your ear.
Your wet lashes flutter up to him and he absently licks his lips. His viridian hues train on you as you shyly conceal your abashed features. He chuckles at your coquettish behavior, caressing your cheek, feeling the peach fuzz stand up straight as gooseberries line your skin.
His body inclines toward you and you feel his heart stammering against your chest, meeting the stuttering pace of your own. His other hand is on the small of your back, pulling you closer as he captures your chin between his fingers and tilts it upwards.
"Viking-Actual, what's your location?"
The cacophony of his radio startles you both, shaking you out of your lovestruck daze. There's a look of annoyance that flashes over his features as he presses and holds the push-to-talk button and speaks:
"This is Viking-Actual, we're wrapping up our current operations and RTB. Over."
There's a brief silence before Merrick's voice is heard again.
"Request location update, not status. Over."
Hesh rolls his eyes so hard that they might just come out of their sockets. Your teeth latch into your lip as your shoulders jostle in hilarity. His expression is priceless, but it quickly shifts into a grin knowing that at the very least he can entertain you.
He sighs before notifying him of your location and it's met with another silence to which Hesh takes that as a sign to continue what he was doing before he was interrupted. But the moment that your lips almost graze, the static of the radio returns and he can't help but snicker at the ridiculous timing.
"Copy that. RTB ASAP. Over."
You're giggling under the propped-up collar of his jacket and it's starting to redden the blush on his cheeks. He's getting trepidatious at this point. The tension feels palpable and he's almost deterred from kissing you now.
But like the goddamn soldier he is, he pushes through and he's leaning in once more. Not even the stupid clatter of the radio can stop his lips from finally meeting yours. It's a gentle kiss. Soft, pillowy flesh that presses sweetly against your own and your body is warming up, relishing in his natural musk and the toastiness emanating from his body.
Your arms curl around his dampened waist as you breathe one another in. It's electrifying feeling him against you like this and there's a pyre that's slowly burning down below, but he withdraws too soon. The corners of your mouth draw out into giddy smiles. It's a gratifying feeling. Reciprocation.
"Should probably get back to base soon." He studies how you tuck your lips in, swiping at them with your tongue in an overly elated manner that causes him to giggle again.
"Uh huh." Is all you can muster up and it incites another round of glee. And Hesh can't help himself from cupping your cheeks and bringing you into another kiss. Your heart is soaring as your lips collide and you easily find a rhythm that makes you feel like your bodies are melding together.
Unbeknownst to the two of you, another pair of idiots lurk in a set of tall shrubs about 50 meters out, snooping on your little makeout sesh.
"You think they can see us from here?" Merrick asks his quiet Serg, as he peers through his binoculars.
"Nah." Keegan replies, popping a piece of granola into his mouth and sets his optics down. He pats his counterpart on the shoulder. "Let's head back."
Merrick raises a brow at him. "You don't wanna tell 'em to come back?"
Keegan smiles as he packs his things and slings his sniper over his shoulder. "Let 'em be. We can give 'em hell for it later."
And just that sentence alone thrills the Captain as they tread back to base leaving the nescient, impassioned couple behind. Never a boring day back in the Ghosts HQ.

The Perfect Match
Every third week in March, fourth year medical students find out where they'll be going for their residency. A quick 2.2K word one-shot of Jake's girlfriend going through that process.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The nervous energy in the auditorium was almost overwhelming as the clock ticked closer to 11:50AM. All across the US, fourth-year medical students gathered in ceremonies like this, ready to find out where they would be headed in just a few months to begin their residency. It had been a long week - on Monday, everyone received an email letting them know if a residency program had selected them. For those who got one, it was a waiting game to see where they would be moving. Those who hadn't been selected went through the nerve-wracking SOAP process, hoping to secure a job after graduation. With the number of medical graduates increasing faster than residency positions, it wasn't always a guarantee.Â
You, however, already knew where you were going and what specialty you would be practicing. For months last year, you'd flown across the country, interviewing with residency programs at different installations and civilian hospitalsâbackups in case you didnât match with a base hospital and had to compete for a civilian spot. And a perk of matching through the military was getting notified of your posting in mid-December, while civilians had to wait until the third week of March.Â
On December 15th, you received that wonderful email alerting you that you had matched into Emergency Medicine at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Not only was Emergency Medicine a competitive specialty, but the location meant that you would finally be able to be close to your long-distance boyfriend, Jake, after seven long years.
A chance encounter over Spring Break freshman year led to late-night calls when he returned to Annapolis and you to College Park. For four years, you lived 35 minutes apart in Maryland, stealing as much time as possible together over the weekends. And after graduation, you had a long conversation about your future.
Jake had been clear from the beginning that he wanted to be a pilot, just as you had been firm about attending medical school. He supported you as you struggled through Organic and Biochemistry and tutored you in Physics. He would try not to laugh as you traced his skin, naming the muscles, bones, and systems as you reviewed for anatomy. Care packages showed up at your apartment when you spent as much time as you could getting clinical hours, volunteering in a research lab, and studying for the MCAT. Jake knew how important getting your CV ready was and tried not to complain too much when your weekends spent together were mainly catching up on chores or sleep.
Senior year, you were offered a spot at Florida State University College of Medicine. Jake had been notified in his junior year that he had been accepted into the flight program.
After graduation, you and Jake packed up your things and drove to Florida together. He had a few weeks until he had to report to Pensacola, just a 3-hour drive down I-10 from where you would be in Tallahassee. The apartment you got was right across the street from the med school, a small one-bedroom, but you knew you wouldnât spend much time there anyway. It would be a place to eat and sleep, but most of your time would be spent on campus or driving to Jakeâs in Pensacola. He would only be there for a few months until transitioning to the next base, and you wanted to spend as much time together as possible.Â
Unlike other medical schools, FSU required students to start in the summer to complete the Anatomy course. Over the short term, students would complete a full-body dissection. The smell of formaldehyde became commonplace, and the TAs warned you to wear shoes and scrubs you wouldnât hate to throw away in August.Â
They were right.Â
It was a rough transition to med school, but it was manageable. And you loved it. Your professors ensured you treated the cadavers with the utmost respect while gently encouraging competition by announcing a dissection team winning each week. The faculty brought you to a rural community to learn about rural medicine, sharing food and stories with those less fortunate. The physician assistant students joined on the trip, and you learned about an inter-professional day that youâd be expected to participate in later - role-playing a case with MD, PA, pharmacy, and social work students.Â
And while you were working toward your dream, Jake was getting closer to his. Nights were spent catching up, and he was so excited to tell you about his flight training. He promised to get his civilian pilot license as soon as possible and rent a plane to take you up in the air. On the rare weekend you didnât need to spend in the anatomy lab cramming for an exam, you drove to his place late Friday night and headed back to Tally on Sunday morning.Â
In August, Jake requested time off to come and see you celebrate finishing your first semester. Seated in the audience, he watched as your faculty member helped you don your first white coat, and you recited the Hippocratic oath. The one-week vacation before Fall term started wasnât long enough, but you enjoyed waking up in Jakeâs bed and going to the beach. Â
Joining the military had never been in your future, but the longer you spent around Jake and his friends, the more commissioning in the Navy seemed attractive. A medical officer recruiter spoke at the college, and you signed your paperwork. After spending a few weeks working in a clinic during the summer after the first year, you headed to Rhode Island to complete Officer Training. Jake called you as soon as you graduated, welcoming you into the service with only some light teasing about outranking you. As an Ensign, you would be forced to salute your Lieutenant boyfriend when you saw him.Â
It was harder to see each other when he graduated from flight school and was stationed in California, but you managed to get by with phone calls and vacations. Toward the end of your second year, Jake was sent on deployment as you studied for the Step 1 exam - testing your foundational knowledge and one of the most intimidating exams you faced. The school gave you dedicated study time, and you took advantage of his offer to study at his apartment in Lemoore. His buddy, Coyote, met you at the airport and drove you to Jakeâs apartment. A bouquet of flowers was sitting on the counter, and you stared at them as you mentally ran through Anki decks to quiz yourself. Â
Jake came home the last week you were there. Fully recovered from the 8-hour exam, you greeted him with all the other family members on the flight line. It was the first time you saw him in his jet, and you made sure he knew how much you appreciated the sight. But too soon, you had to return to Florida and pack up your apartment in Tally to move to Pensacola for your last two years of medical school. On your last night in Lemoore, Jake took you out dancing and promised he would request leave to visit soon.Â
Between your rotations and his shitty schedule as a junior officer, it was hard to see one another. At the end of your third year, you hit a rocky spot and talked about breaking up. But cooler heads prevailed, and you promised to do your best to match into a residency near him. He agreed to try and get orders to be closer to you once you graduated.Â
Jake had been your first call on December 15th. Sobbing, you told him youâd join him in San Diego, where heâd been stationed for the last four months.Â
The last-minute plane tickets had been expensive, but it had been so worth it to spend Christmas with him, making plans to move your stuff across the country, and finally be together. Heâd held your hand as you pulled your name from the NBME Match Database, officially alerting the civilian hospitals youâd interviewed at that you were no longer hoping to match with them.Â
So, while your friends waited anxiously to open their envelopes, you felt a sense of calm. In nine short weeks, you would be back in this auditorium wearing your dress whites under your cap and gown. After getting your diploma, your new orders would be published, and you would be promoted to Lieutenant. And after? Jake was scheduled to return from a deployment in a month and requested leave to help you pack up your apartment and start the cross-country road trip.Â
Eight years of hard work would culminate in moving in with the man you loved. Who could support you in person as you went through the hell of residency and got used to being a full-time Naval officer.Â
The Dean crossed the stage and welcomed everyone. As the clock struck noon, she encouraged everyone to open their envelopes.
Tearing it open, you stared at the words confirming your future - Emergency Medicine, Naval Medical Center San Diego.Â
Jake.
Cheers broke out, and you turned to hug your friends as they screamed with happiness or smiled to hide disappointment on not getting their top choice.Â
The ceremony began with each regional campus called up to allow the students to announce their match.
You hadnât planned on going on stage. The trip back to Tally had only been to see your favorite staff members and to support your friends as they found out where they would be moving. They had brought their family members, partners, and kids to share in the moment. You had come alone, preferring your family to go to graduation instead. But your friends dragged you into the line and handed your name card to the smiling staff.Â
âHi,â you said, leaning into the microphone after the Regional Campus Dean introduced you. âI just wanted to say thank you to all of my friends and family. Without you, I wouldnât have made it through all of this. I matched in Emergency Medicine and will be moving across country to be with my boyfriend, who kept me sane throughout all of this. And Iâll be at Naval Medical Center San Diego
The crowd cheered louder than they had for any of your classmates. Blushing, you lifted your hand and waved, stepping back and quickly walking toward the Campus Dean to shake his hand. But as you neared, he smiled and took a step back.
You froze.
Jake grinned.Â
Wearing his dress whites, he quickly strode toward you, pulling you into his arms. âWhat are you doing here?â you demanded, blinking away tears.Â
âWasnât gonna miss your Match Day, darlinâ,â he replied.
âYouâre supposed to be on the carrier!âÂ
âMight have lied about that.â There wasnât a trace of regret on his face. âYou worked so hard for this, and I wanted to surprise you. My beautiful, smart, adrenaline junky doctor girlfriend.â
âNot yet - wonât be a doctor for another few weeks.âÂ
âYouâve got it in the bag. But I figured since youâre already trading in a couple of ranks - med student and EnsignâŚâ Taking your left hand, he reached into his pocket and lowered himself to one knee.Â
Vaguely, you heard the crowd get louder, but you couldnât tear your gaze away from Jake as he held out a diamond ring.Â
âI thought maybe we could change girlfriend to wife. Will you marry me?âÂ
Unable to speak, you nodded quickly. Jake leapt to his feet and kissed you, smiling against your mouth.Â
The next few minutes were a blur. You hugged the Deans while Jake shook their hands, and your parents met you off stage - Jake had called to let them in on his plan. His parents texted him after watching the proposal on the schoolâs livestream. After promising to meet up after the ceremony, Jake joined you in the student section while your parents returned to their seats. Your friends hugged you, whispering excitedly as you showed them your engagement ring.Â
And later, after a celebratory dinner with your family and drinks at the beer garden with your classmates, you tumbled into bed with Jake. You could taste the beer on his tongue as he licked into your mouth, and you grinned when your ring caught the light and shimmered.
âLieutenant and Lieutenant Seresin,â Jake chuckled, catching your hand and kissing your ring. âSounds kinda nice.âÂ
âMmmm,â you hummed. âMy diploma will be issued in two months, Seresin. Then Iâm applying for my medical license and getting all my onboarding paperwork done for NMCSD. I might have to go by my last name for a bit⌠but I kinda like how it sounds with LieutenantâŚâ
âIt does sound nice,â he agreed. âYou sayinâ Iâve got 2 months to get it official, or are you telling me you wanna keep your last name?âÂ
âDunno,â you shrugged. âIâve spent the last four years thinking Iâd practice under my own name.â
âHow do you feel about hyphenating?âÂ
Your eyebrows shot up, âYouâd be okay with that?âÂ
âDarlin', you did the hard work, and itâs your name. As long as I can call you Doctor Seresin at home, I donât care.â
In the middle of May, you stood at attention on stage in your whites, having quickly changed out of your cap and gown. The medical recruiter, a local chief petty officer, had been called onto the stage to publish your orders. Forcing yourself not to smile, you pressed your lips together as he read out your name â your new, hyphenated last name and all.Â
-----------------------------------------------------------
Notes: I used to work in a medical school, and went through three years of working on Match Day. It was one of my favorite events because of the level of excitement. (And yes, we did have a proposal one year.) But it can also be a really hard day - as state above, the number of residency spots is lower than the number of people who graduate. Every year, people go through the SOAP process and don't match. Which means they have to find something to do for a year, and then start the process over again.
Definitely didn't plan on writing this - I think in about an hour? - but I watched a class I worked with Match today and it kicked up a lot of feelings. I had the pleasure of watching young students grow into doctors, and play some small part in that.
As always, thank you to @mamachasesmayhem for encouraging me to write this, and for giving feedback.

Strangers in the Night
tourist!Seokmin x local!reader
Synopsis:
Strangers in the night exchanging glances Wondering in the night What were the chances we'd be sharing love Before the night was through
Warnings: fluff, meet cute, man hater reader, sunshine DK, crack
WC: 683
Status: part 1, (ongoing)
a/n: join my taglist to get notified about new chapters - here
ćŚčŠččż literally means âto brush shoulders and pass byâ. To come into close contact with someone or something, but then barely miss it
You were walking in the historical center of your town, in country where people don't share glances - god forbid smiles.
Vintage sunglasses resting on your nose, shades offering a chance to sneak a peek at people passing by. Ready to judge their fashion choices or roll eyes at couples attached by the hip
Now, It was not unusual to catch men looking at you - dressed to impress, girly but with hint of elegance you looked like a doll. If it was not for your typical RBF you'd have many suitors. Didn't matter how happy or sad you felt, the expression on your face remained unshaken. Even after meeting their curious gaze men never approached you. Maybe because there was always unspoken challenge in your eyes and hint of contempt? None of them had balls big enough to try their luck
And to be honest? You didn't really care. Having unrealistically high standards the only men you were interested in were fictional. Two kingdoms to their name, chambers filled with gold, riding white stallion. The rest? Made you sick to the stomach.
That was the exact reason why he caught you off guard
Crossing the street towards alluring neon lights of Rolex store in neighbourhood you adored the most. Bustling with tourists, nice cars parked by the sidewalk, well maintained buildings offering luxuries of all kind. One eye on store window filled with watches out of your tax bracket, other eye on the cobblestones in front of you.
You almost missed him.
//
Lee Seokmin was strutting in opposite direction enjoying his first vacation in a long time.
Feet infected with happy virus tapping on the stoney ground. Taking in all the history around him. As he held up his camera to snap a photo, like an angel descending from heaven you manifested in middle of the frame. A quick click was all he managed. Your impenetrable aura blinding him. Immediately starstruck.
Click, click, click. The Leica worked overtime.
Didn't know if it was the way your hips swayed in such enchanting rhythm or the beautiful but unimpressed face... There was something that left him peeking in your direction. A glimpse lasting longer than is considered polite. If you noticed the way he was devouring all the parts of your body.. he could hardly excuse it as accidental.
//
Once you saw him looking, glance becoming a stare, making you forget all the Rolex bling. Something in his eyes was so inviting. Something in his smile was so exciting. Holding your breath at how handsome he was.
Like a beam of light entering the bitterly cold cathedral of your heart, Seokmin flashed you the most beautiful 100watt smile.
Ai, mi corazĂłn. You didn't speak Spanish. Kokoro no doki doki. Nor Japanese. But almost folding in half right then and there, hand shooting to the chest trying to prevent cardiac arrest, somehow you managed to keep composure.
Surprised at your uncharacteristical reaction, passing by brushing shoulders, you returned his smile - unsure if he had time to witness it. Caught up in this k-drama interaction you kept moving forward, cheeks red, giggling uncontrollably
Laughing to yourself like a fool for at least thirty minutes, coming to your senses much later - fuck why didn't I stop and said hi? Now is too late to go look for him. It's funny how something small as a smile can have an impact on person.
//
Oh but he did catch that smile. Leaving him with such an adrenaline rush he took off running. You couldn't get him if you tried. Galloping like a race horse at Kentucky Derby, it took about ten kilometres before he finally stopped.
"I got so excited I forgot to even ask for her number..!" He gasped out loud, tearing up at the missed opportunity
Trying to get some kind of comfort in the unfortunate situation, he went over the photos he took of you. Biggest smile forming on his face Seokmin sent silent prayer above.
God, If you are real, let us meet again.
To be continued..

Only one bed
TimothĂŠe Chalamet x fem!Reader
The anticipation for the premiere of my latest project, 'little women' had my nerves on edge as I sat in the airport, waiting for my Uber. Tomorrow's event promised excitement and anxiety in equal measure â after all, being one of the main characters in a show was a huge accomplishment for me.
As I scrolled through my Instagram feed, a message from my driver notified me of his arrival. Stepping outside the airport, I was met by a cheerful man who swiftly took my suitcase and stowed it in the trunk before we set off on the short journey, engaging in light conversation along the way.
My phone buzzed incessantly with notifications from the group chat comprised of my fellow 'Little women' cast members. Amidst the chatter, the revelation that we had to share rooms due to a booking oversight surfaced. I sighed inwardly, hoping I wouldn't end up rooming with TimothĂŠe â a fellow actor whom I didn't like, at all.
"Miss, we're here," The driver said, getting out and walking around to the trunk to get my bags. Once I got out of the car, I heard someone shout, "Y/N!" looking up I saw Florence with her arms wide open sprinting over to me. I smiled at her, engulfing her in a bear hug. We stayed that way for a while until we heard someone calling our names. We turned around to see Saoirse behind us. "We're deciding who's rooming with who." She said, walking back to the hotel's lobby with Florence and I following close behind her.
***
"Oh fuck no!" I yelled, "I'm not going to be sharing a room with this mother fucker." I said pointing towards TimothĂŠe.
"Yeah, and I don't want to share a room with her either!" He retorted, crossing his arms and pouting, causing me to roll my eyes at his childish behavior.
After a while of arguing I eventually gave up, knowing I wouldn't win this argument.
I was to share a room with TimothĂŠe. Our mutual disdain for each other was palpable as we rode the elevator to the 19th floor.
"Going up," the elevator announced as it started moving.
I shot TimothĂŠe a scornful glare, my irritation palpable at the thought of sharing a room, especially with him â the last person I wanted as a roommate.
The elevator opened revealing the floor we would all be staying on for the next few days. We all went our separate ways just wanting to get to our rooms.
TimothĂŠe and I were walking down the halls when we saw our room number. Disgruntled and resigned to our fate, TimothĂŠe opened the door throwing his bags on the floor and going straight to the bathroom, grabbing a cup, and filling it with water, while I just stood in the middle of the room in shock.
"Uh, TimothĂŠe," I called out to him.
"What n/n?" He said with attitude, walking over towards me and taking a sip from his water.
"Look!" I said, pointing to the spacious yet troubling sight â a solitary king-size bed occupying the center of the room.
Any other person from the cast and I would've been totally fine with it. Why out of all the people did it have to be with TimothĂŠe? "You sleep on the bed; I'll sleep on the floor,""He said, grabbing two of the pillows and one of the blankets.
Feeling guilt take over my body, I said, "Tim, it's fine; we could just share the bed; we could put a pillow to divide us."
He didn't reply; he just smiled, throwing the pillow and blanket back on the bed before leaving for the bathroom once again. TimothĂŠe emerged from the bathroom in casual blue-and-white pajamas, a departure from his usual appearance. He settled onto his side of the bed, slipping beneath the duvet and cuddling against his pillow. He actually looked kinda cute right now. As much as I hated to admit it, he was a really attractive guy, he just has a terrible personality.
I, too, got under the covers, snuggling up into my pillow before drifting off to sleep.
The night passed relatively quiet until the early hours of the morning, I awoke to sudden movement in the room. To my dismay, my eyes slowly opened to reveal Florence, Emma, and Saoirse standing around the bed, brandishing their phones like paparazzi. I shot up, waking TimothĂŠe up from my sudden movements. "What the hell are you guys doing in here?" I questioned.
"I think the real question is how you even got in here." TimothĂŠe said, with an annoyed expression.
"Irrelevant," Florence said as Saoirse shoved her phone in our faces.
"Look how cute you guys look!" She said, revealing a photo of TimothĂŠe and me spooning with his arm wrapped around me.
My face flushed red as I looked down trying to hide my face. After a while of them teasing us, they eventually left. "Hey, um sorry about that, I didn't know I did that in, my sleep," TimothĂŠe said, his head down in embarrassment.
I put my hand on top of his making him look at me. "It's fine, really," I said, smiling at him.
Driven by a surge of impulse, I closed the distance between us, our lips colliding in an unexpected union. TimothĂŠe responded, his touch gentle yet firm as he cradled my face in his hands. A smile crept onto my lips as I tangled my fingers in his curls, savoring the moment of intimacy. We both pulled away for air, going back for another kiss when we heard someone clearing their throat, jumping away from each other we saw Emma and Saoirse with big smiles on their face, "you owe me 20 bucks, pay up." Florence said, putting her hand out.
"Seriously how the fuck are you guys getting in here?!"

I've been excited to write this chapter for months and I ultimately feel like it flopped so hard, it just did not come together the way I envisioned. It's also my last week of work for awhile I'm honestly feeling very burnt out so I'm in a 'fuck it, i don't have the energy to make it perfect' mood, BUT - Itâs a lot of backstory/development that I do think is necessary. Next chapter shit will go down tho so get ready.

-April 10, 2024-
Joel reaches out to clutch the patio railing. His chest is tight, like someoneâs stitched his ribs together so they wonât expand fully every time he tries to inhale. Each breath wheezes in and out of him, and his head spins.Â
None of this feels real. It canât be real. And if heâs asleep, he canât decide if heâs in a dream or a nightmare.
Thatâs until he hears his name.Â
âJoel!âÂ
Her voice is like a jolt of electricity, shocking his body back into equilibrium. He finds Ellie standing behind him when he looks over his shoulder, Tommy walking up the pathway to the front door, brow furrowed.Â
âWe literally only got here like one week ago, you canât die already,â Ellie scolds him, and he knows that the jab is meant to be playful. âWoah, are you okay?â she asks when they lock eyes.Â
Joel straightens, squaring up with Tommy, fully prepared to give him a piece of his mind, for throwing him into the deep end with nothing to stay afloat.Â
âWho was that?â Ellie is completely oblivious.Â
Even if he wanted to answer the question, he still probably couldnât. It had taken him a moment to even recognize who you were, thatâs how long itâs been. And he hadnât even really gotten a good look. It only clicked when youâd taken off your glasses, and when itâd registered, and then heâd seen the kid next to you, heâd panicked. Joel brushes past Ellie, shoving his brother with one hand in the center of his chest.
âWhat the hell were you thinking?âÂ
Tommy recoils at the contact, something pained and confused crossing his expression. âIâŚ. I thought youâd be happy to see that sheâs still alive.âÂ
Joel doesnât answer, just glowers at him. Heâs still unable to make sense of the questions swirling around in his mind, each one seemingly more important than the last.Â
Of course itâs good that you're alive. At one point, he had tried to find you. It was after Sarah, after heâd tried to- he canât even think about how foolish that had been. At the time, the thought of seeing you again was the only thing that provided him with even the slightest bit of hope for the future. But the search had been fruitless.Â
After a while, Joel decided that you were dead. It didnât matter whether or not you were. Heâd seen the unspeakable pain humans were capable of inflicting on each other and then when heâd gotten involved with some hunters, became the cause of all that pain. If you were aliveâŚit meant those horrible things were happening to you. You were better off dead.Â
It also kept his conscience clear. After heâd done what he had done, he knew if he ever saw you again, he wouldnât even be able to look you in the eyes. And he was right. You knew a version of him that no longer existed.Â
âJoel,â Ellie interjects. Heâd nearly forgotten she was there, still lost in his shock and rage.Â
âEllie, go inside,â he quips.Â
âCanât I just-â
âInside. Right now. â Joel hasnât used such an aggressive snarl with her since they first left for the Boston QZ, and he turns to look at her just in time to see her face crumple, before she turns and marches up the stairs. He immediately feels bad, but unfortunately, this is just how things go with every person he cares about these days. He hurts them, then they hurt him, and it equals out, only ending when one of them decides to leave.Â
âJesus, Joel,â Tommy scolds, but he doesnât care.Â
âHow long?âÂ
âWhat?â
âHow long have you known sheâs alive? That she has a fuckinâ.....â Joel feels something get caught in his throat. â...a fuckinâ kid.â
âThatâs her nephew,â Tommy says matter-of-factly, as if it was supposed to be obvious. As if Joel wasnât just grappling with the idea that he had a twenty year old son heâd never known about, and feeling guilty that youâd been alone with him this whole time. âBut I guess I can see where youâd think that.âÂ
Now that youâre on Joelâs mind, he does recall you mentioning your nephew a few times. Maybe you even had a picture of him hanging on your fridge, and he had pegged how you had the same smile. Heâs a little embarrassed for jumping to conclusions, but it doesnât mean heâs done being angry.Â
âShit,â Tommy rubs his beard. âTheyâve been here for like three years. Itâs been awhile.â
âThree years?â Joel asks, a whole new wave of anger reappearing. âAnd you didnât think to fuckinâ tell me all this time?â
âYou know the rules. We arenât allowed to use the radio.âÂ
âWhat about when I was here in the winter?â Joel asks stiffly.Â
âI justâŚfigured itâd be a shock-
âAnd why would you think that, Tommy?â Joel raises his voice.Â
Tommy holds out his hands, lowering them slightly as if to tell Joel to settle down. Then he nods towards the house. Ellie. âYou had a lot going on with that whole situation. I didnât want to distract you.â
Joel would never admit it, but that was probably a smart decision for Tommy to make. He remembers how uncertain and scared heâd been when he first stopped in Jackson. But Joel still tries to think of a way to keep the argument going, because he doesnât want to give Tommy any sort of props for how heâs chosen to break this news to him.
âI thought youâd be happy sheâs alive, really, I mean you both-â
Joel holds up his hand. âEnough, Tommy. It was so long agoâŚI barely remember.â
Tommy frowns, gives him a knowing look. âReally?âÂ
Joel sniffs, crosses his arms.Â
âWell, I remember,â Tommy says. âAnd she was always good to you.â
Joel doesnât answer, because he doesnât have anything else to say, and at this point, he just wants Tommy to leave.
âWork through whatever you have to,â Tommy says. âBut donât be an asshole. You should work on that, in general. Or else Iâll have to keep explaining your behavior.â
âGlad Iâve got you looking out for me,â Joel says dryly. âDonât know what I would do without you.â
âFine.â Tommy shakes his head, backs away.
His brother doesnât say goodbye as he stuffs his hands in his coat pocket and walks down the street. Joel stays in place, alone on the front porch, until his hands relax from the fists they are clenched in and his anger turns to shame.Â

-April 19, 2024-
You close the locket and place it back inside the old lunch pail full of tchotchkes and other memorabilia. Itâs a fairly empty box, over the years youâve found that the things you hold onto are either lost or left behind, not unlike the people youâve met. You swipe away the tears in your eyes.Â
Bea had always said it was important to give yourself the space to grieve, to let yourself feel whatever it was that you needed to. Itâs advice that you donât want to take from her right now because youâre pissed at her for being gone. Not that it had been her fault. And also because you know if you donât stick to a routine itâs very easy to backslide.Â
In the bathroom, you hurry to splash cold water on your face, taking a look at yourself in the mirror. Before the outbreak, there was nothing more terrifying than getting old. Now, as you study the new lines and wrinkles on your face, the scar on your bottom lip, the gray strands in your hair, it doesnât scare you at all. It seemed frivolous that looks were something youâd been so concerned about when you were younger. But you suppose you didnât have much else to worry about. There was something pretty freeing about being older, that you can be content without being concerned about whether or not someone will find you attractive. And really, getting old means youâre still alive. Thatâs all that matters.Â
You are concerned with the red in the whites of your eyes, but hope theyâll fade by the time you get to Mariaâs.Â
Grappling with the fact that Joel is still alive has dredged up a lot. Since it had been about a week since your reunion â if you could even call it that â on your front porch, and youâd seen him one other time. The first time, youâd sort of understood why heâd ran off. But you guessed you kind of expected him to come around eventually. He didnât.Â
Just a few days earlier youâd been walking through the town square, and heâd been headed your direction with that teenage girl who Tommy has since told you is named Ellie. She was giggling at something, and Joel even had a slight smile on his face, but when he saw you, it disappeared, and he pulled Ellie to the opposite side of the street. It was clear now that he was intentionally trying to avoid you, whichâŚ.didnât feel great.Â
That was an understatement. Having Joel back made you realize just how lonely you were. It had taken some time after arriving in Jackson for you to grieve your partner of nearly ten years, so it hadnât really dawned on you that at some point you might crave a deeper level of intimacy that your friendships couldnât offer. But you had already had it twice, so you supposed that was better than nothing at all. Plus, your number one priority had been, and always would be making sure Ethan was provided for.Â
So what exactly were you expecting from Joel? Not that, of course. But maybe some kind of closure after all those years spent apart. Some kind of acknowledgement of your time spent together.Â
When the outbreak first happened, you had spent a lot of time being angry. With Joel and Sarah, the possibility of being normal had been dangled in front of you. You realized you had wanted to be loved after being convinced by your father â and yourself â that you didnât deserve it. Then, the second you acknowledged that you wanted it anyways, the world had literally ended. It was a little egocentric, but it sort of felt like a sign that your dad had been right all along. Some women arenât meant to be part of a family.
Of course, Bea had proved that wrong. But losing the people you loved became a pattern. And you even to this day, you alternated between believing that it was the unfortunate reality of life, or that it was your destiny to never get what you wanted.Â
Regardless, even if the way Joel is acting has caused you more turmoil than you are willing to admit, youâre not going to follow him around and beg to get back into his good graces. Thatâs never been your style.Â
Youâre tidying up the kitchen, getting ready to leave, when Ethan shuffles into the room. Itâs nearly noon.Â
âHey, sleepyhead,â you say to him as drags his socked feet across the hardwood.
He grumbles his greeting and tilts his head at the bag youâre adjusting over your shoulder, as if to ask where youâre headed.
âIâm going to Mariaâs,â you say. âThen I have to meet with Eugene.âÂ
He makes a noise of affirmation, still half-asleep, and slumps into a kitchen chair. When you look at him closely, you see the dark circles beneath his glassy eyes, his face pale.Â
âYou alright, honey?â you ask, putting your bag back on the countertop and approaching him. âDo you have a fever?â when you reach to press the back of your hand to his cheek he swats it away weakly. He doesnât feel warm.
âIâm fine,â he says, crossing his arms on the countertop and burying his face in them. âI just have a headache.â
âYeah?â you say. âYou were out late last night.â
âDerek and I went to the Tipsy Bison,â his voice is muffled.Â
Everything clicks into place. âOh. Were you overserved?âÂ
He turns his head, but doesnât lift it. With how long his hair has gotten, most of his face is obscured. âMaybe. But before I get a lecture, donât worry â Iâm never drinking again.â
âIâm not gonna lecture you,â youâre almost offended. âIs this really your first hangover?â
âI meanâŚ.probably not. But itâs definitely the worst.âÂ
âWell now you know your limits,â you say, crossing the room to pour him a glass of water and get some ibuprofen from the long-expired bottle you keep in a cabinet.
âMaybe if we were allowed to drink when we were with Bea, I wouldâve learned that sooner.â
You let Ethanâs get his dig in at the last community youâd lived with before Jackson. The more time youâd spent here, the more time heâd had to convince himself that what youâd gotten yourselves into was terrible. Because you had more of a complex perspective on it, it was the one subject you avoided speaking to each other about.Â
Ethan is similar to Vincent in that while heâs very sensitive, he also seems to enjoy being an instigator. Of course, spending all of his life fighting to survive in a world that wants him dead has only intensified that. Bea had been good at helping him manage his temper when he was a teenager and it became too much for you to handle. But besides that, he doesn't get into much trouble, so you arenât going to chastise him.Â
âDrink this, and take these.â
He groans, but reaches out for the aspirin and water, nursing it down with small sips. You bite back a smile. The both of you have endured much worse than a hangover, but thereâs something cathartic about seeing him experience the plights of a normal twenty-something.Â
âAre you hungry?â
âIf I eat anything, I think I will vomit,â he lays his head back down.Â
You consider asking him if he wants you to stay so you can look after him, but decide that you donât want to encourage the habit too much. Instead, you reach out and brush a strand of hair off his cheek so you can see him more clearly, and he closes his eyes. âI bet youâll feel better in a couple hours. Drink water. Itâll help.â
He blinks up at you, seemingly unconvinced. âI saw that guy yesterday. The weird one.âÂ
âWhat guy?â
âTommyâs brother. Whatâs his name?â
âJoel?â you ask, and pretend that saying his name doesnât almost make you shiver.Â
âYeah,â he says. âHe was with Tommy at the stables. Guess theyâre making him a ranger.â
âHm.â
âI know you knew him before or whatever, but heâs definitely a weirdo. And Iâm not just saying that to make you feel better.â
The whatever in his sentence is doing a lot of heavy lifting. You roll your eyes, but not maliciously. âWell, he did just get here.â You definitely donât owe Joel anything, so you surprise yourself by defending him.Â
Ethan almost ignores your response, winces, turns his head back into his arms and grumbles something to the effect of Iâm dying.Â
âRest up,â you ruffle his hair and kiss the top of his head, like youâve been doing since before he could walk, and itâs hard to stop even though sometimes it annoys him. Right now, he doesnât protest. âIâll bring you home some soup from the mess hall. Take it easy.âÂ
âââ シ ・ďžâ: *.â˝ .* :âďž. âââ
Itâs Tommy who lets you in once you arrive at Mariaâs. Sheâs upstairs with the baby, he says, and tells you to wait in the living room, before you hear her frantic voice calling out for him to come help her.Â
His footsteps retreat up the stairs, and you hover in the entrance to the living room, your eyes inexplicably drawn to the chalkboard withÂ
You glance at the little memorial that Tommy had made for Sarah and Kevin, Mariaâs son. Even though youâve seen it a million times at this point, the sight of her name, the date of her passing â the same day as Joelâs birthday â makes your stomach sink.Â
Thatâs when you notice that youâre not alone. Sitting in a chair in the corner is the girl that youâd seen accompanying Joel. You hadnât actually been properly introduced, you realized, and sheâs staring at you like she doesnât know what to do. Sheâs a cute kid, a teenager if you had to guess, her dark hair pulled back into a ponytail.Â
Based on how heâs been acting, you canât imagine what Joel has told her about you. Probably nothing good. So you give her a nod and a small smile, before crossing your arms and leaning against the doorframe.Â
Surprisingly, the bit of sincerity seems to warm her up a little. âIâm Ellie,â she says.
You nod again, and give her your first name. âItâs nice to meet you, Ellie. Sorry I didnât get the chance the other day.â
She shrugs. âIt didnât seem like that was your fault.â
You let your arms drop to your sides, straighten up. âDid you uhâŚcome to see the baby or something?âÂ
Ellie shakes her head no. âIâm waiting for Tommy. Heâs gonna take me to see the school.âÂ
âOh, thatâs nice.âÂ
âNot really,â she says. âI think school is fucking stupid. But everyone says I have to go, because all the other kids in town do, too.â
Ethan was grown when you arrived in Jackson, and you didnât have children of your own, so it was the one place you didnât really frequent. âWell, you probably should butâŚ.I hear you.â
Thereâs an almost imperceptible smile that crosses her features. You turn your head back to stare at the staircase, waiting for the sound of Mariaâs footsteps, but all you can hear is her and Tommy whispering with frantic energy as they try to put their son down for a nap.Â
âYou know Joel wonât tell me anything about you,â Ellieâs voice cuts in, and you turn back towards her. âBut you knew him before, didnât you?â
Youâre not sure how to take this information, orâŚhow to respond to it. So you keep your response simple. âI mean, we were neighbors.â But even that feels like a lie, and a useless one to tell. Maybe itâs a little petty, but you donât owe it to Joel to keep his secrets, especially not after heâs treated you so poorly. So you tell her the truth. âI guess he was alsoâŚmy boyfriend for a little while.â
Ellie seems taken aback by this. âWhat happened? Did you break his heart or something?â
âNo,â you snort. âWe got separated before the outbreak.âÂ
âOh.â She ponders for a moment. âSo then why is he so mad?â
You shrug. âIâll let you know if I find out.âÂ
âWell, heâs an asshole. But I bet you already know that,â Ellie says.Â
Based on the time you actually spent with Joel, you wouldâve never described him that way. So if thatâs really how heâs perceived, even by the people who care about him, it makes you a little sad. Losing Sarah must have changed him more than you could imagine.Â
Youâre already sick of thinking about him so much, so you change the subject to something thatâs at least a little lighter. âHow did the two of you end up together, anyways?âÂ
âLong story,â she answers, and you get the sense thereâs something sheâs holding back. Because you just met, you donât press her any further.Â
âAs Iâd imagine.âÂ
You hear boots coming down the stairs, and Tommy rounds the corner, holding a stack of photos. âIâve been meaning to show these to you, I went home a couple years backâŚto Joelâs old place and mine. There wasnât much left, but I found these.â
He passes the pictures to you, and you look down at them. You donât think much about your old house at all. It was another thing you lost, but almost everyone did, so it didnât really make you feel special. Still, sometimes you thought of your cozy back patio and your old friend Martini, and had accepted youâd never see them again.
The first photo in the stack is a photo of Joel and Sarah at one of his soccer games. As sweet as the gesture is, you are pretty sure you can only confront so much of your past at once, and with Joel being back in town itâs starting to get suffocating. Also, when you study the picture and realize that your memory has gotten some of Sarahâs features wrong, youâre overwhelmed with guilt.Â
Hesitantly, you place the pictures down on the coffee table, and Ellie reaches for them immediately, flipping through him. âWoah,â she says. âHe looks so different without all the grey hair,â she flips to a photo of him and Tommy, and glances up at him. âYou look pretty much the same.âÂ
When you agree with her, Tommy grins, playfully tucking a piece of hair behind his ear bashfully before growing serious. âYou better not tell him I showed you these.âÂ
âI wonât,â Ellie assures him.Â
âLook at this one.â Tommy pushes another photo across the table towards you, and you peer down to look at it. âHe fucking adored you.â
You remember taking the picture vividly while on vacation with Joel and Sarah, and at one point youâd had your own copy framed on your dresser. There are flowers peppered in his hair, and you both look so young, and so happy, and so oblivious, his arms around you, his lips pressed against your cheek. At the time, you really had no idea that everything you knew was about to be destroyed.Â
âNice,â you say flatly, and in an effort to keep from getting emotional, push it back across the table, and retreat to sit in a chair across the room.Â
After some time, and some convincing, Tommy and Ellie leave to go on their tour of the school. When the door closes behind them, you swipe the photo from you and Joel off the table and slide it into your back pocket. You tell yourself itâs so Tommy canât show it to Joel, but really itâs because itâs one of the only memories you have of yourself before the outbreak, when everything felt perfect.Â
Just as you back away from the pictures, Maria appears at the bottom of the steps. She looks exhausted, and before either of you can speak, you wrap her in a hug. Partly because it looks like she needs it, but also because you just want to feel close to someone you trust, even if itâs only for a few seconds. âHow are you holding up?â you ask.Â
âI finally get some peace and Iâm using it to work,â she says, leading you into the dining room, where all the paperwork is spread out. Your plan had been to write a new amendment to the townâs constitution, which then had to be approved by the council.Â
Maria hadnât stayed away from her job as the leader of the community for very long after having their son, despite your encouragement for her to take it easy. She had experience with her previous son, Kevin, but you imagined it didnât make life with a newborn any easier. So you tried to help her out with any chance you got, especially because you knew sheâd do the same for you. it was just how things between you worked. She knew even more about you than Tommy did, and you told each other everything. Well, almost everythingâŚ.
âYou should take a nap or something.âÂ
âDonât tempt me.â
âIâm serious,â you insist. âI can write a draft while you sleep and then you and I can do the revisions together.Â
She seems reluctant, but after making you swear youâd wake her if the baby starts fussing, she lies down on the couch and you begin working.Â
Like your old job, you donât really like doing this. The only job you have in Jackson that actually excites you is the work you do with Eugene, and going on patrol. But this work makes you feel the most useful. And despite the fact that you had always been skeptical of authority â you believed in her ability to keep things in Jackson running smoothly.Â
About an hour later, youâd drawn up the draft and Maria stirs from her nap. The revisions donât take very long, since you both are usually on the same page, but when you start packing your things up to go, she seems surprised.Â
âAre you hanging around until dinner?âÂ
âNo, I have to meet up with Eugene,â you say. âPlus, Ethanâs at home hungover so I told him Iâd make him soup.Â
âDo you think heâll be up for dinner tomorrow night?â she asks. âTommy keeps pestering me.â
âWell heâs still too young for his hangovers to last two days,â you smirk. âSo yeah, I think he will.â
âHe invitedâŚ..Joel, and Ellie,â Maria says hesitantly, watching your face. âIs that okay?â
âI meanâŚ.itâs not my dinner party.â
âYou can say no. Or not come,â she offers. She hadnât been there the day youâd seen Joel again for the first time, but it sounds like Tommy has given her the rundown.Â
You shrug. As much as you donât want to admit it, being forced into the same room as Joel is a little exciting. âIâll go.âÂ
âAre you doing okay with that?â she asks. âI told Tommy not to surprise you, but he didnât listen.â
âItâs all fine,â you say, which isnât entirely a lie. At the end of the day, everything would be fine. The stakes werenât life and death. When Maria seems unconvinced, you continue. âI mean, it feels like heâs being a little rudeâŚbut itâs nothing I canât handle.â
Maria lowers her eyes, pauses. âHas Tommyâs ever told you about any of the stuff Joel got him into when they were on their own?â
âNot really,â you say. âBut I know they were on bad terms.âÂ
âI didnât know you back then,â Maria begins. âSo I donât know what you saw in him, or what he was like. ButâŚ.I donât think heâsâŚ.I donât know if itâs worth getting emotionally invested again.â
âOh, bummer. As you know, reconnecting with an ex is my main priority right now.â you deflect with a smirk, but Maria doesnât seem as amused.
âFair,â she says. âBut be careful. I saw what he did to his own brother. I donât want it to happen to you.âÂ
âYou donât have to worry about me,â you assure her. âWhatever heâs done, Iâve dealt with worse.âÂ

-April 20, 2024-
When Joel and Ellie arrive at Tommyâs, itâs clear immediately they arenât the only people that were invited.Â
Seeing the life that Tommy had built for himself here â a thriving community, a wife, a son â fills him with a certain level of envy. But mostlyâŚ.heâs ashamed. Back when they were hunters, Joel was adamant that it was the only way they could survive, despite the horrible things they were doing. The worst part was, Joel really believed it. Now, the nightmares still chasing both of them, he realizes he was wrong. Even if Tommy wonât say it out loud, Joel knows he resents him for those days, how heâd been forced to trade away so much of his humanity. For Joel, violence came easily â shockingly so â an outlet for all his anger after losing Sarah. But Tommy had always struggled. And even though there will always be love between them, the tension was still there.Â
Heâs still adjusting to life in Jackson, only leaving the house when Ellie drags him out, and when Tommy trains him to go out on patrol. Itâs hard to accept that heâs not on the run anymore after the chaotic nature of the last year. Only Tommy knows his darkest secret, and he intends to keep it that way.Â
While Ellie does seem somewhat hesitant to leave him alone, she does seem a lot more enthusiastic about life in Jackson. Joel knows itâs a good thing, and once again, he feels like heâs let her down by not leading by example.Â
Tommy greets them both once they step inside, and Joel is polite â something heâs been trying to do more of lately. Maria gives him a tight-lipped smile, one that tells him sheâs trying to be civil despite her reservations. God only knows what Tommy has told her about their time together. At least he can understand where sheâs coming from. Had they met twenty years ago in Austin, they probably wouldâve gotten along. Nowadays, heâs not surprised when people donât like him, because he hates himself, too.Â
But Maria still entertains them with general pleasantries and questions about how they are settling in, despite looking incredibly flustered. Ellie is more apt to answer them then he is, Joel standing by with his thumbs in his belt loops.Â
Over their shoulder, Joel sees you, standing in the corner of the front room with your back turned to him, deep in conversation with your nephew. Heâs smiling and telling a very animated story, at one point clapping his palms on your shoulders and shaking them violently while you giggle. It makes him think of you and Sarah. Therein lies the problem. Heâs become a little more comfortable discussing his past with Ellie, but thereâs a limit to what heâs capable of, especially after repressing so much for so long.Â
The oven goes off, and Maria excuses herself to the kitchen, inviting Ellie to follow along. Joel and Tommy are left standing in the entryway together.
âYou invited her?â Joel asks, not bothering to hide the venom in his voice.Â
Tommy steps back, giving him incredulous once-over. âItâs my house, isnât it?âÂ
âI donât know what game youâre trying to-â
Tommy shoves Joel into the dining room before he can finish his thought, out of eyesight from the rest of the people in the house. âIâm not playing games, Joel. Sheâs family. Maybe not to you, but definitely to Maria and I. And sheâs never shown you anything but kindness. So grow the fuck up.âÂ
Before Joel can think of another objection, the sound of a baby crying cuts through the air. Tommy freezes at the sound, until you call out from the other room. âI got him.âÂ
âCome on,â he says. âMaybe you can muster up the courage to hold your nephew.âÂ
He wants to tell Tommy that heâs trying, even if it doesnât look like it. But it almost feels better to allow himself to be the black sheep. It makes things easier. If he keeps that door closed, heâll never need to worry about the problems that lie on the other side. Still, he begrudgingly follows his brother in the other room.Â
When he enters the front room, youâre holding Maria and Tommyâs son in your arms. Â
After Joel had learned that Ethan was your nephew, he was unsurprisingly relieved. What did surprise him, however, is that some small part of himself was disappointed. Sure, if you actually had his child while you were separated it would have been devastating. But before all this, all he had wanted was a future with you, wouldâve gladly given you childrenâŚ.really, anything you wanted.
He tries not to let his eyes linger on you too long, lost in the daydream of what couldâve been, but you meet his eyes and give him such a sterile, polite nod that itâs almost painful.
Dinner is uneventful. Joel ends up seated directly across from you, Tommyâs doing, no doubt, but you do a good enough job of engaging in conversation that you donât spend much time looking in Joelâs direction, and when you do, he doesnât recognize your expression. It does give him the chance to study you up close, which he hadnât done yet, and immediately regrets.Â
Heâs still just as attracted to you as heâd always been. Sure, youâve aged, but so has he â although you wear it much more gracefully. When Tommy offers to pour some bourbon into Ethanâs glass, he refuses, and for whatever reason, you stifle a laugh, the wrinkles around your eyes more prominent than they used to be.Â
After dinner, when the plates have been cleared, you disappear. He can feel himself growing overwhelmed, so he steps outside onto the back patio for some air. Youâre sitting on a porch step looking out at the yard, but when he steps outside, you turn.
When you register that itâs him, you return your eyes forward again, and Joel remains silent, even considers walking back inside without a word. But he stays there so long, contemplating, that youâre the first to speak up.Â
âYou know, if you stay hereâŚ.at some point, you are gonna have to acknowledge me.âÂ
Joel knows heâs the antagonist right now. Heâs well aware. But he canât help himself. Despite that, thereâs no malice, and no bitterness in your voice. But you are direct.Â
And, because heâs never been good at refusing you, he gives you something in return. âI guess Iâm just surprised to see you hereâŚ.â He recalls a conversation youâd had long ago, curled against his chest, staring up at the stars together. âBeing a city girl and everything.âÂ
You turn to look over your shoulder, gaze making him feel warm, a small smile on your face. For a split second, youâre looking at him how you used to, and then itâs gone. âIt is sort of a miracle, isnât it?âÂ
He ponders this, and you continue.Â
âItâs good to see you, Joel,â you say softly. He wonders how you can make general pleasantries sound so sweet, and is surprised at how easily you betray yourself with the words. Though he had noticed a pattern at dinner. You werenât nearly as guarded as you used to be. He wonders how thatâs possible, if youâve made it this far.Â
âYou too.â

POSER | blue lock v! x gn! reader
chapter 2: lucky
Ever since you were little, you felt as if you were lucky. You were born into a supportive family and stayed an only child throughout your life. People seemed to flock around you, all interested in what you could do or what you wanted to do. It was annoying. As you grew older, your perspective of the world changed from pretty pink rainbows to gloomy gray clouds.  The masks people wore began to melt off and their true expressions were revealed. It was disgusting. No one really cared for your own health or well-being; they only wanted you for one thing: your talent.
When you were young, you loved to explore and try new things--you know, like a normal child would--and your parents discovered your uncanny ability to adapt to a scenario extremely quickly and come out on top of everyone else. When you were four, you defeated a retired professional chess player in the span of fifteen minutes.
("Checkmate." You remember calling as you lined up your queen across from his king. The man had stared at you, bewildered by your skill.)
When you were five, you picked up a new hobby: sports. It was thrilling--the feeling of sweat pouring down your skin as you pushed yourself to break your limits. You lived for the adrenaline of a game, for the thrill of defeating your opponent. You loved it. You loved it until you didn't.
When you were five, the new hobby you picked up lost its vibrant color quickly. Your adrenaline was replaced with boredom, and your desire to play was replaced with a hunger for the thrill you once had. You lost interest quickly, and why would you put effort into things you didn't have an interest in?Â
When you were five, you discovered that no one could beat you. No matter what you did, you were better. Maybe it was your ability to adapt quickly and understand what the concept of something was in a matter of seconds, or was it your amazing skills when it came to anything athletic? You didn't care, but others did.Â
They called it talent. You called it luck.
They called you a prodigy, but all you could think of yourself as was a poser.
...
The ball bounced off your head and onto the floor, right in front of your feet. What the heck?Â
The screen made a noise, and everyone paused to look at the screen. A mini version of you had popped onto the screen along with 'your' name, Kankucho [best friend]. Despite the current situation, the only thing running through your head was 'dang, do I really look that ugly?'. You shuffled a bit, placing your right foot on top of the football, rolling it back and forth under your bare foot.Â
"Prepare, and attack. This isn't your average game of 'tag'." Ego announced. You observed everyone around you--everyone was staring at you warily, watching you for any sudden movements you might make. Dribbling the ball forward a bit, you stood in the center of everyone. Normally, you'd just wait until the timer ran out and head home, but you knew you couldn't. Your first reason was simple, [best friend] would beat you up, and your second reason--well, honestly, you didn't really have a second reason. Now that you thought about it, it was kind of disappointing.
You hummed to yourself, closing your eyes before you opened them, grinning maliciously. "Who's going to be my target today?" As you said this, you took a few steps back before you began running towards the ball. Right before your [right/left] foot made contact with the ball, you swooped it around the front, rotating your body slightly before you used the back of your heel to hit the ball backwards.Â
An 'oof' sounded from behind you, and you smirked. The screen pinged, notifying everyone that someone else was now 'it'. You stepped back from the ruckus made by everyone else and sat down in the back corner of the room, watching as people scrambled around. Wow, I really hope there are better players in Blue Lock than the ones in this room. You sighed, staring disappointedly. You were already bored, which wasn't really surprising, but a kid could hope.Â
After a series of kicks, dodges, and "epic football moves", no progress was made. The timer read thirty seconds, and you watched as the ball rolled into an open area of the room. You wondered for a second, was anyone going to do--your eyes widened in surprise when a blur of black sped past your eyes, and before you could process it, the screen name changed to Itoshi Rin. Apparently, his name was popular as chorus of shouts rose up as a reaction.
    "Itoshi? Like, Itoshi Sae?"
"No way! Could he be related to Itoshi Sae?"
"That must be so cool, having a football star as your brother!"
The person to state the last exclamation had no time to react before he was slammed in the face with the football. Immediately after, a beep resounded through the room, indicating that the boy was disqualified from Blue Lock. A cold voice filled the room.
"Don't ever relate me to my disgusting brother." The boy, Rin, glared. "I don't have time for any of your lukewarm fanboy behavior or your crappy skills. I'm here for one thing only, to defeat my brother in the U-20 World Cup."Â
You stared at him for a few seconds before blanking. Lukewarm? The heck's up with him? You shifted around, not caring enough to actually acknowledge him, before a realization hit you.  Wait, I didn't know I was going to have to play in the World Cup?
...
You officially hated testing. You sprinted on the treadmill, sweating buckets. It had been a few days since the beginning of Blue Lock, and you were already regretting your life decisions. You glanced to your left, watching as your new acquaintance's hair flowed behind him while he sprinted. You had recently befriended Jyubei Aryu, who had approached you, asking about your hair care routine. At first you found his idea of conversation starters strange, but quickly adapted when you realized this might be an easy chance at making a friend. After you had told him what hair products you used--you were pretty lucky to have remembered--you quickly became friends.Â
The other boy you had met was Aoshi Tokimitsu, and wow, he was one nervous cinnamon roll. You slightly felt bad for him when he couldn't stop stuttering when he first talked to you, but he eased up after a couple of days. Anyways, the question at hand was why does the lukewarm brother-complex boy keep staring at you?Â
He's still staring, you observed as you completed the jumping test. It was quite awkward when he moved next to you to complete the jumping test. It got to a point where you couldn't take it anymore, and your eye twitched as you whipped your head to look at him.Â
"Why are you staring at me?" You huffed, your eyes narrowing to slits.Â
"I'm wondering how someone as lukewarm as you could have possibly been invited to participate in this program." He responded curtly, glaring at you. You stared at him for a few seconds, the wheels in your brain turning slowly as you processed what he said.Â
"That's it?" You blandly asked, and he nodded, oblivious to your attitude.
    "That's it."
After completing your test, you turned around and walked away. You couldn't deal with this right now, especially not while you were hungry.
...
You walked into the lunchroom, surprised at the amount of people you saw. Scanning your tag on the food dispenser, you collected your food and walked to an empty table. Normally, you'd go sit with Aryu and Tokimitsu, but right now you weren't feeling the whole 'interacting with people' vibe. Also, you couldn't find them.
You quietly ate your food in peace, savoring the taste. You could practically hear your stomach thanking you for the food after all of that rigorous training. You munched quickly, trying to eat as much as you could while also trying to avoid eating it all so quickly. Everything was going great until a tray was placed right next to yours and someone pulled out the chair, sitting down next to you.Â
"Eh? Nagi? Why are you sitting over there?"Â
        Seriously?

You Scare Me, Professor: Chapter 26
Summary: The reader is taking graduate classes at a local university in the wooded upstate New York. She is drawn to her professor, Dr. Joel Miller, though she is also inherently aware that he has something dark about him that she can't quite put her finger on. As the reader's attraction grows deeper, she has to decide whether to endure the danger or run away as fast as possible.Â
Pairing: Professor Joel Miller x f!readerÂ
Fuck. I was addicted. I was done. I was his. The whole clichĂŠ fantasy about making love on a bear-skinned rug at a snowy mountain cabin in front of a roaring fire lived up to the hype; especially when my authoritative lover didn't leave a single part of my body untouched.
As I laid in the dim lighting on the living room floor looking up at the ceiling, I placed a hand on my throat where Dr. Millerâs had been as he dirty talked me through a thigh-shaking orgasm.
âDid I hurt you?â He placed a soothing hand over the highest part up my chest and drew his fingers up the sensitive skin of my neck.
I turned to him and smiled. âNo.â My eyes closed when he let his fingers tiptoe down between my bare breasts before trailing off at my belly button.
Dr. Miller rested a hand on the curve of my hip and propped himself up onto an elbow beside me. He let the side of his face sit in his palm and stared down at me.
âThis house was left to me in a will by a man named Lou Brackett,â Dr. Miller said, holding my stare. âHe also left me a big inheritance because he had no family left when he died.â
Finally, some answers. Some. âWho was he?â
âI met him through my old job. I was in my late twenties, he was in his early seventies then and passed away of cancer a short time later. When I was notified that he left me all of this I didn't know what to make of it.â
âWere you close with him?â
Dr. Miller nodded. âBut I wouldn't have expected him to give me anything in his will. Certainly not all this.â
âMaybe he looked at you like a son.. or a grandson.â I shrugged, âAnd if he had no family left, it's better than letting the state just take everything.â
He cleared his throat and nodded, looking at the fire for a moment. âI don't want you to be alone on campus anymore.â
I raised my eyebrows at the sudden subject change.
âI spend a little time in the library sometimes in between work and class,â I admitted.
Dr. Miller made a face. âWell, when it's dark don't walk alone. Even just for a few minutes. That's all it takes. Until this guy is caught I'd rather you not take any chances.â
âOkay.â I nodded.
âIf Iâm teaching and you can't find someone, text me and I'll act like I forgot something in my car and walk you to yours.â
âI'm really fine,â I assured him. âI know it's really close to home and-â
âI just can't stop thinking about you being alone in the bathroom on campus-â
I leaned up and silenced him with a kiss. My palm pressed into the back of his head and I took over his mouth with my own.
Our lips parted and Dr. Miller pulled me back to him.
âYou have to tell me the whole story,â I gasped the words aloud but he kissed me hard again. "About the house. About all of it."
âOkay,â he promised in a whisper, laying me down on my back again.
My eyes closed and wrapped my arms around him as he kissed down my neck. âOkay.â
..
I wasnât as concerned for my own safety the same way that Dr. Miller was. I wasnât acting recklessly by any means, and I still got a chill when I thought of the incident in the bathroom, but studying over notes in the library didnât exactly put me on high alert.
Dr. Miller, however, was like a hawk watching over its nest. My eyes practically bugged out of my head when I saw him enter the media center. Our eyes met and I smiled, though he moved around the space as if he had another purpose for being there. He conversed with the aging librarian, spoke with a few students who recognized him and then made his way to the table where I sat.
âWill you be alright to go back to the house tonight?â He asked quietly.
âYeah, Iâll be fine.â
âYou could always just wait in my office.â
âThat would look suspicious.â
âNo one would know that you were in there.â
I had the urge to stand up and peck him on the lips. I would have if we were at home but rather I just smiled. âItâs my home now, too, remember?â I grinned, âI have to get into a normal routine.â
Dr. Miller sighed and nodded. I knew he would have had me handcuffed to him if it were plausible; but it wasnât. âYouâre right.â His fingers subtly grazed over mine on the table top and he continued his walk around the library. That was about as much physical interaction we could have on campus. The fact that he had to touch me in some way made me smile to myself.
I tried to focus on the material I was reading, but my eyes kept scanning for him each time he ducked in and out of the stacks. Eventually he made his way back toward me, stuck a post-it note onto my book and smirked at me.Â
I squinted my eyes and smirked back, staring at the message heâd scribbled down. It was a code to locate a book. K-353-K1521. 3rd row down. 24th Book from the left.
âWhatâs this?â I whispered, though Dr. Miller didnât respond. He failed to hold back another devilish smirk and then wandered slowly away toward the doors of the library. I watched him go and he glanced over his shoulder at me before making his way back outside.
I waited a few minutes, so as not to make it obvious, and then rose to my feet with the sticky note in hand and began my little scavenger hunt around the area.Â
What is this book he wants me to find?
I had to admit, I hadnât searched library stacks for a book in a very long time, so navigating my way around wasnât exactly second nature. Most of the time the research I wanted to do was all at the tip of my fingers via my smart phone or lap top.Â
At the end of each row were labels with letters and numbers. I searched and searched, mostly blindly, until finally coming across K-353 - K1521. I had to admit, I loved the mystery and the games.
My eyes glanced upward and I reached up to the third row, beginning to count across from the left.
One, two, three..
I counted across, going slow so I wouldnât accidentally skip over one and land on the wrong title.
Twenty-three, twenty-four.
I turned my head to the side to read the title of the book and then removed it from its spot.
Kama Sutra.
I laughed lightly to myself, and then glanced to my left and right before flipping open the book to a random page. I drew a hand over the back of my neck, continuing to grin as I browsed the illustrations on the page that went along with the Padmasana sex position.
As I began to read the description, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I knew who it was.
Make sure you read and do your homework, Dr. Millerâs text read, followed by a second one that made me laugh: Exam tonight.
I typed back, smiling as I did, and snapped a photo of the page I was on. I then decided to discreetly bring the book back to my table.
Should I check the book out? I wondered. I was so shy, I didnât know if I could face the old lady behind the counter with the book in my hand. I decided to ask Dr. Miller, to which he replied: Take pictures of what you want to do then put the book back. I have a copy at home. I just wanted to get you thinking about it. Sometimes thatâs the best kind of foreplay.
It certainly was. I began to flip through the pages of the book, taking pictures of things I wouldnât mind trying. Dr. Miller was right. After just a minute or two I was already picturing what it would feel like to carry out some of the new positions with him. My face felt flushed and I hoped no one would interrupt the little task heâd put me up to.
My eyes lifted when I sensed someone had crossed past the aisle I was seated in and then I continued what I was doing until there were only about fifteen minutes until my class started. Dr. Miller would be right next door, and from the texts he was already sending me I could tell his thoughts would surely be in the same place as mine for the next several hours.
I finally closed the book and hurried back down to the aisle where Iâd taken the book from, setting it back where it belonged. As I squeezed it back between two other books, I saw a pair of eyes peering at me from behind the stack in the next row.
â(Y/N).â They said my name quietly and I stepped backwards in response.
âWhat?â I swallowed hard and saw movement in the small spaces left available by the rows of books. I was tempted to run out of the aisle and into the main area of the library, though when Trevor emerged I placed a hand over my chest. âTrevor.â I felt relief, âYou scared me.â
âIâm sorry,â he practically squeaked, adjusting his glasses.
âItâs fine.â I hoped he hadnât seen the book I was putting back.
âAre you headed to class?â
âYeah, I am.â I gave a nod. âAre you?â
âYeah. I am.â He smiled, echoing my words.
I glanced up at the windows on the walls. It was dark outside. Dr. Miller didnât want me to be alone. âWant to walk with me?â I asked.
Trevor nodded. âYeah. Yes. Just.. let me get my stuff.â
âI have to get mine, too,â I told him. âIâll meet you by the front doors.â
He smiled again and adjusted his glasses before power walking awkwardly down the row. His eyes glanced upward toward the area where I put the Kama Sutra book away and I shuddered to think he might actually know what I had been looking at.
Who cares. I rolled my eyes at myself and then went to retrieve my belongings. I texted Dr. Miller to let him know I was about to be on my way and then strolled to where Trevor was already waiting by the doors, hugging his laptop.
âReady?â He asked with another Howdy Doody grin.
I nodded and sighed as I stared at the building we were headed to across the green. âReady.â

Loss & Grief
James Wilson x Female Reader
Summary: The head of the Department of Pediatrics loses a young patient and Wilson helps her cope.
TW: Pre-established relationship, hurt/comfort, grief, patient death, mentions of heart problems.
Doctor L/N sat silently on the couch in her office as tears rolled down her cheeks. Her lab coat had been abandoned on the cushion beside her and she was still wearing her pink surgical scrubs. L/N stared across her office blankly, feeling both devastated and guilty as she ran over the events in her head.
Doctor L/N had lost a patient during open heart surgery. Her name was Olivia and she had been diagnosed with a Complete Atrioventricular Canal heart defect at two weeks old. A large hole was present in the center of Olivia's heart that affected the area where all four chambers would normally be divided. A surgery was attempted when she was four weeks old, but the defect was too complex to repair in infancy. A temporary operation had been preformed to relieve her symptoms until they could re-attempt when she was older. Olivia had just turned two when Doctor L/N and the cardiac surgeon decided it was time to fix the defect. Doctor L/N had scrubbed in on the surgery and everything seemed to be going fine before the girl flatlined on the table.
The team worked to revive her for over an hour before time of death was called.
Doctor L/N notified the parents, watching them fall apart as their grief washed over them. She provided as much comfort as one possibly could to parents who had just lost their only child, sitting with them for as long as they needed her to. The mother had hugged her, thanking her for everything she had done for their daughter.
Doctor L/N had experienced the loss of a patient before, but it never got any easier. L/N barely managed to keep her own emotions in check as she made her way through the hallways towards her office. The sun had set and L/N hadn't even bothered to turn on the light before slumping down on the couch.
She broke down, completely dissolving into gut-wrenching sobs that left her breathless. Doctor L/N cried until her throat ached and her lungs burned, muscles trembling as she sniffled softly. A gentle knock sounded on the door, but L/N couldn't bring herself to speak without crying again.
The door opened, "Y/N, are you in here?" Wilson asked softly, peering into the dark room. He turned the light on, dark brown eyes quickly finding her on the couch. Wilson stepped into her office, closing the door and making his way over to her.
L/N felt her eyes gloss over with tears again as he sat down beside her, "I'm sorry... I know how hard it is to lose a patient," He said softly.
Her lip trembled, "She was so young," L/N mumbled as more tears rolled down her cheeks.
"You did everything that you could for her," Wilson said, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her into his chest gently. Her body shook as she sobbed, arms sliding around his waist as she curled into him.
Wilson pressed a kiss to the top of her head as his hand rubbed over her back reassuringly, "You're gonna be okay," He murmured.
Doctor L/N had the biggest heart of anyone Wilson had ever met. She treated her patients like family and took it incredibly hard when she lost someone. L/N would blame herself for months, overthinking every decision she'd made and wondering what she could have done to change the outcome.
Wilson slid his arm underneath her knees, pulling her body into his lap and holding her close. Her breath stuttered in her chest as she tucked her head into the crook of his neck.
"Shh, you're okay, I'm here," He said softly.
...
Wilson held L/N on the couch in her office until the sun had started to rise, the sky only just beginning to show the faintest bit of light. She was quiet, sniffling softly every few minutes. The soft sounds of Wilson's heartbeat and his even breathing calmed her down greatly.
Everything about James calmed her down.
"H-how did you know?" She mumbled.
"Know what?" Wilson asked with a confused frown.
"I-That I lost her," L/N said.
Wilson sighed, his hand rubbing over her back gently, "I knew about the operation and I was looking for you after. One of the nurses told me that she saw you, but you seemed upset... I put two and two together," He said.
"I should be better at handling it by now," She mumbled, fingers toying with the material of his tie.
"No, you're grieving a loss... You invest in your patients and care about their recovery. It makes you a good doctor, but it can also make loss difficult to cope with," He said.
She let out a defeated huff, snuggling closer to him. The smell of his cologne was comforting, it lingered on every piece of clothing he wore and had quickly become L/N's favorite scent.
"Do you want me to take you home? You can get some rest and I'll make you breakfast," Wilson offered.
"I've kept you up all night long," She said.
"What's a few more hours?" Wilson smiled, pressing his lips to her forehead gently.
Her eyes fluttered shut at the contact, letting out a soft exhale, "What would you make me for breakfast?" She asked, opening her eyes.
"Pancakes and bacon," He offered.
"With chocolate chips?" She asked, he smiled.
"If you'd like," Wilson said, his hand resting on her thigh and giving it a gentle squeeze.
Doctor L/N lifted her head from his shoulder, Wilson raised his hand and wiped the tears from her cheeks gently with the pad of his thumb.
"I love you," L/N said softly.
Wilson smiled, hand cradling her cheek as he brought his lips to her's in a gentle kiss, he pulled away and leaned his forehead against her's.
"I love you too," Wilson replied.

Chapter Seventeen
âCome to me in the silence of the night; come in the sparkling silence of a dream.â -Christina Rossetti
The moonlight streams in through the small window in the kitchen, offering a comforting presence in the midst of your sudden onset of insomnia. After the day you had, all the lifting and moving, you should be tired; you should be exhausted. However, after tossing and turning for hours while your mind raced with thoughts about James and Joel and Nessa and your impending return to patrol and past memories, of your hometown and how things used to be, how much has changed within the past few yearsâyour relentless thoughts refused to slow down no matter how much you tried to fight against them, so you forced yourself from the couch and took a seat at the kitchen table in the dark.Â
Staring off into the dark abyss of where you just came from, you roll your neck, grimacing at the shooting pain at the base of your skull. Sleeping on the couch was not working out. Nothing good came out of it, just restless nights and daily body aches. Still, regardless of being in this house for a while, the reminisce of the lives that used to call this house their home still haunts you in one form or another. This place has yet to begin feeling like yours, and at this rate, you donât think it ever will.Â
The past few weeks have been nothing short of a blur, between the conversation you had with Joel and the myriad of drama surrounding you in Jackson, your mind has been rather preoccupied.Â
After your eyes fully adjusted to the dark, you reached for the notebook at the center of the table. The clock mounted behind you on the wall in the kitchen, was loud in your ears, the mixture of tick-tocks and your heartbeat whooshing in your ear gave you a sense of unsettling nausea.Â
You flipped to the next available blank page in the worn notebook, the moon casting a sliver of light across the table as if it was encouraging you to write about your troubles after witnessing your restless night for countless weeks. The eraser head hits the paper in between the ticks and tocks of the clock as you delve further into your thoughts. Where do I start? You ask yourself.
A few weeks ago, after returning from an uneventful patrol alongside Joel, you came across a post on the community information board in the town square. Charles posted a help wanted request for cleaning and setting up a library in one of the vacant buildings within the community. As soon as you saw his name signed at the bottom, you ripped it from the board and rushed to his house to volunteer your hand. A part of you felt saddened that he didnât come to you and ask, considering he confided in you that one day he'd like to open a library here. Although, given the rocky state of things going on in your life, you understood why he didnât ask to begin with.Â
After going around to the different guards, asking for anyone to cover her spot with patrol, Tommy was the only one who stepped up while you and Charles began stripping the building, cleaning, and organizing the collection of books heâs hoarded over the years, were donated by members of the community, or were purposely scavenged from nearby.
Although you hated admitting this to yourself, it was nice getting a break from doing patrol. Setting up the library was the perfect distraction from everything going on, and spending time with Charles, someone who you looked up to for guidance and as a father figure, was the kind of presence your soul needed.Â
That distraction only went so far though, at night your thoughts consistently kept you up into the wee hours of the morning. It had nearly become debilitating and you knew it was something youâd have to figure out sooner rather than later, particularly before you returned to your patrol duties. The main two culprits that haunted your thoughts were none other than Joel and James; Joel, mainly because youâve been spending much less time with him than usual, and James for the fact that heâs been too involved in your life lately.Â
Regardless of not going on patrol with Joel, you still see him nearly everyday. Usually the two of you eat dinner together, with him stopping by what will eventually become the library to see if you wanted to join him. Your answer was always yes with no hesitation on your end. After dinner, he'd walk you home, sometimes heâd stay for an hour or so, other times heâd retreat to his house to go to bed, telling you that the sleepless nights in the QZ and on the outside were catching up with him. At the end of each day, you always craved more from him.
Then there was James. Oh, JamesâŚ
Ever since your confrontation out front of the stables about the little stunt he pulled that almost got you taken off of patrols, it seems as if James has been trying to do some intense damage control with you. Heâs stopped by your house a handful of times that you know of. Youâve never opened the door, going completely still so as to not alert him of your presence, though he still takes it upon himself to profusely apologize through the door, pleading for you to talk to him.Â
Through word of mouth, either from the other guards discussing your temporary leave or from Charles himself, James mustâve learned about you helping with the library because he began showing up between his patrols and other guard duties, claiming he just wants to see how things are coming along.Â
These unexpected drop-ins put Charles in an awkward position; you knew it, James knew itâhe came anyway. While you stealthily slipped into the back room to busy yourself, sometimes organizing piles of books you already organized days prior, other times just staring at the wall, Charles would take the initiative to entertain James with small talk.Â
Every time James made his eventual departure, Charles would let out a loud heavy sigh, saying so much with no words. And after youâd mutter your half-assed apology as you emerged from the back room, heâd give you a look; one so full of disappointment and defeat. For the rest of the day, both of you would work in silence.
Charles never said anything beyond his sigh and the look heâd give you in regards to James. His body language was more than enough and he knew that. He knew the guilt that you feel and the conflicting anger you have towards James. After the last talk the two of you had, heâd given up and knew no matter what he said to you, no matter how much he tried to help, you wouldnât listen anyway.
He knew you were a coward and had no plan of resolving things with James anytime soon.
A coward wishing their problem would disappear.Â
You wished James would just disappear , because then you wouldnât have to think about what you did to him that started this. And that made you feel guilty.Â
Eventually, you knew youâd have to come face to face with James, knowing that he wonât be going anywhere anytime soon. The community is relatively small and people talk; in the long run it would be best to smooth things over, at least attempt to talk things out. Although, it just wasnât something you could do right now. Not with your conflicting and complex feelings toward Jamesâespecially not when things were so God damned gray with Joel.Â
The snapping of the lead of your pencil pulls you out of your mind consuming rant, suddenly becoming aware of your dark surroundings as you return to reality. You could feel the intense heat radiating off of your cheeks as you brought one palm up to your face.Â
After staring at the paper for a few minutes, taking in the messy scribbles of words, you rip out the page in one swift motion, immediately crumpling it into a ball. The muscles in your forearm tensed as you squeezed the paper within your fist, making it smaller and more compact with each squeeze. The paper disappeared within the dark shadows of the kitchen when you chucked it across the table.
Your head began to spin, a buzzing sensation filling your skull and making you feel uneasy. Moving the hand on your cheek up to your forehead, you let out a sigh of frustration and close your eyes.
Joel.Â
Such an intense and complex person. From the moment you sat across from him at that damned table at that abandoned cabin, you felt drawn to him. Something about him that you couldnât quite put your finger on made you feel understood and protected and at ease. When it was just the two of you, you could imagine what life would be like by his side, and it was something you so badly wanted to manifest into reality. He could be a complete asshole at times, but then there were other times when he was so vulnerable with you and he would laugh and you could see a glimmer of joy in his eyes that gave you a tiny glimpse of who he was before the outbreak happened. Weirdly enough, you wanted him just as much in his worst moments as you did in his best. To you, knowing that was enough. It was enough to understand what you felt for him.
JamesâŚ
He was such a sweet and kind soul, always making you feel so normal, as if none of this outbreak bullshit ever happened. James felt things so purely and intensely, it almost made you envious that someone could experience life in such a way after losing so much. From the beginning he treated you as an equal, he didnât make you have to prove yourself like some of the others did, he didnât see you as the weird girl who showed up with Tommy Miller and his misfit older brother. He treated you like a human being deserving of friendship, he stuck up for you, and on the late nights the two of you would spend together, he made you feel like you were something important to this world. While all those things may remain true, it doesnât change how he treated Joel or what he did to you when his jealousy took over. Things could never go back to how they were after that.
Closing the front cover of the notebook and slipping the pencil into the spiral binding for safe keeping, you slide it back to the center of the table where you retrieved it from.
In the past, writing had helped you sort through your thoughts, it did when Joel left shortly after you arrived in Jackson and when memories of the past became too much to bear. It gave you a chance to dump everything without the judgment of others and many times you were able to either solve the core of the problem or come to some sort of decision on how to manage your feelings, but this time aroundâŚno matter how much you deliberated, how much you wrote, it just leaves you with a bigger headache than you started with.Â
And this headache seemed to grow worse as the days went on.Â
As your hand ran down the front of your face, you turned in your chair to look at the clock, squinting your eyes to make out the numbers and hand position in the dark. You raise your eyebrows when you realize itâs now past midnight, nearly an hour has passed and you have been completely lost in your thoughts this entire time.Â
At this point the moonlight shifted, the sliver that previously caressed the table with a soft glow, was now leading you to the couch.Â
Pressing your palms firmly against the smooth surface of the table, it takes you a second to push yourself up onto your feet as your eyes lock onto one of the many burn marks pulling you back into your daze. Joel did say I was welcome anytime, the words appear in your mind without any warning, maybe I canâŚÂ With one hard, intentional blink, the thought disappeared.
Nothing good ever comes after midnight. On top of that, you aren't being rational right now, youâre sleep deprived and borderline delarius. Nothing good will come out of that, you whisper your words out loud. Sleep. Thatâs what you needed. Thatâs all you need right now. Not clarity, or confirmation, or him.
You wrap your arms around yourself as you walk the short distance from the table to the couch, nearly toppling over on the couch. All you wanted at the moment was to sleep. You desperately wanted a break from your racing thoughts that were now becoming tortuous. Before laying down, you punched the poor excuse of a pillow a few times before laying on your back, your hands resting just above your navel. As you close your eyes, you slow your breathing.Â
Trying to trick your brain into sleeping, you count the seconds that pass in unison to the ticking clock. Flashing images of Joel kept distracting you, so when you finally reached six hundred after several failed attempts, you flipped onto your side with your face now facing the back of the couch. The rough fabric brushed the tip of your nose as you nuzzled your face into the cushion, the heat of your breathing warming your cold cheeks.Â
Three hundred more seconds pass before you shoot up from the couch, the sudden movement making blood rush to your head, the already dark room becoming darker for a fraction of time. Your heart, for some reason that you donât know why, is racing, thumping strongly within the confines of your chest.
Placing your hand over your heart, feeling the movement under the layers of skin, muscle, and bone, you approach the window in the living room, your steps slow almost as if you were afraid of getting caught. As you look out the window toward Joelâs house, you brace your hands on the windowsill, leaning into them to get a better look. His house at this time of the night was nothing more than a shadow, but you could recount every detail of it by memory.Â
You began to gently chew on your bottom lip as a sudden calm came over.
Fuck it.Â
Before you could process your decision or think of what the consequence might come from out of this, you were already halfway out the door, barefoot and still in your pajamas. Time seemed to slow as you walked across the empty street and up Joelâs pathway; the overgrown weeds tickling the bottom of your feet with each step.Â
Knock, knock, knock.
The wooden door was hard against your knuckles, knocking hard enough so he would hear but wouldnât be alarmingly loud either.Â
For a brief moment, a sliver of consciousness washed over you, the only thing you could hear was your own ragged breaths as the adrenaline continued to rush through your veins and covered your body in a numbing sensation. What are you doing? Your eyebrows drew together. Looking over your shoulder you judged the distance between where you stood and where your front door was. If I leave now, perhaps I can make it back before he gets to the door. The longer you think on it, you realize the opportunity slipping through your fingers.Â
The sound of creaking floorboards causes you to turn back toward Joelâs front door and straighten your posture, your chin tilting upward ever so slightly. Your fingers fiddle with each other as you wait for the door to open; on the other side of the barrier, you can hear Joel clear his throat and your heart stalls.
At first, he barely opens the door wide enough for his head to poke through. You take a second to scan his face; he looks confused, still half asleep, but God did he look handsome.
âHey, um, â your voice is soft, not quite sure what to say. You shift the weight between your feet as you continue to look at him.
After taking what seemed like forever to process your presence, Joelâs narrowed eyes quickly turn into concern and he opens the door wider revealing his entire body. âIs everything okay?â His voice was rough, laden with sleep. Your breathing hitches, leaving you unable to respond as you take him in before you. Your eyes glaze down from his concerned expression, to his chest hair and down his bare torso, to the top of the band of his blue boxer that looked as if they had been put on in a rush. Your core ignited with an intense heat, your heartbeat picking up in speed.Â
You force yourself to swallow despite your throat feeling as if it were closing in on itself. âI canât sleepâŚâ You shook your head, keeping your eyes fixated on his. âIâmâIâm sorry to bother you so late.â Letting out a sigh you avert your gaze down to your feet. Looking at him was too much for you to handle right now.Â
The sigh of relief escaping him made you slowly look back up at him, his shoulders relaxing. Without saying anything else, Joel opens the door completely, stepping aside to allow you to come in. You give him a shy smile in response, butterflies now going rampant in your stomach.Â
You wait for Joel to take the lead, not sure what would happen from here. You knew what you wanted to happen, whether it was right or wrong. Perhaps heâd offer you the couch, simply a place to sleep for the night. Thatâs probably for the best. Or maybe the two of you would talk for a bit and then heâd send you on your way. Fuck, youâre an idiot, you thought, hating yourself now for not thinking this through. Joel had to get up for patrol in the morning and you thought it was a good idea to bother him for your own selfish reasons. Stupid, stupid, stupid. You dig your nails into your palms as a flash of heat runs through your body.Â
Joelâs arm brushes up against yours as he passes, leading you further into his home and turning on lights as he goes. You have to force yourself not to look at him or the way his back muscles shift as he walks. Get a hold of yourself, you scold yourself and suck in some very much needed oxygen through your teeth.Â
You take everything in as you walk further into his home, itâs been quite a while since youâve been here. Between the pictures of wildlife to the half finished wood carvings, everything remains the same as you remember; perfectly lived in and a reflection of who Joel is at his core.Â
The kitchen light flickers a few times when Joel flips the switch, damn light , his voice comes out as a low mumble. As the two of you approach the table, he pulls out one of the chairs gesturing for you to take a seat. You avoid his gaze, giving him a nod of gratitude before he rounded the corner of the table and headed toward the kitchen cabinets.Â
âYou want something to drink?â He asks as he grabs two glasses, the side clinking together as he sets them down on the countertop. âLiquor, fresh milk, waterâŚâ He only turns back to look at you once he finishes.Â
You shake your head. âIâm fine, thanks though.â The last thing you need is alcohol, and you were sure that anything that went down would instantly be vomited back up given the fact that your stomach was in the most intense knots you have ever experienced.Â
Joel stares at you for a second longer than usual before giving you a single nod, abandoning the glasses on the counter and taking a seat in the chair directly across from you.Â
He clears his throat before asking, âSomethinâ botherinâ you?â His tone was genuine. You scoff quietly in response, if only I could tell you , you thought.
You didnât respond immediately, staring off into the kitchen behind Joel and gathering your thoughts. âThereâsâŚâ You didnât know how to respond or what to say. No, you couldnât tell him. Or could you? âYes, I just donât know⌠I donâtâ You cut yourself off, sucking in some air to challenge the suffocating feeling that manifested in your chest.Â
âYou donât want to talk about it?â He says, not intending it as a question. Joel clasps his hands together, resting them on the table. Without looking at him, you slowly nod. âNothinâ wrong with that.âÂ
Then a silence fell between the two of you. You didnât know what else to say, you could barely look at him across the table from you and could feel his stare burning a hole into you. Guilt quickly washed over you and you slightly cringed to yourself before lifting your eyes up to Joel. His gaze was intently fixated on you, an intensity in his eyes you saw only a few times.Â
Your lips part, your tongue wetting your dried out lips. âIâm sorry I woke you up for nothing,â Your voice was breathy and barely above a whisper. âI didnât know what to do, soâŚâÂ
Joel immediately shook his head before you were even able to finish. âDonâtâ no, donât apologize.â You give him a pitiful smile, though his expression did not break. The two of you stare at each other for what seems like minutes, though in reality it was probably only a few seconds at most.Â
âHowâs the library cominâ along?â He changed the subject, which you were thankful for. âSounds like a lot of people are excited for it.â Joel cocked his head.Â
âYeah, probably a dozen people stop by a day just to see when weâll be done.â You say as you tuck your hands beneath your thighs. âHardest part is just filling the shelves with books, more tedious than hard though.â Joel was listening with intent. âTony brought us a ton of books from the run last week, so that was pretty huge. On top of that people have been dropping books off to donate.âÂ
âItâllâŚitâll be a good addition to Jackson.â Joel responds and you nod.
There was a pause in the conversation, a bit of awkwardness rising in the air.Â
âHowâs patrol going in my absence?â You inquire, changing the subject.Â
Joel let out a low whisper as he adjusted himself in the chair. âSame olâ, same olâ. Donât tell Tommy I said this, but itâs been nice spending some one on one time with him. Itâs been a while since itâs just been us.â He says, a glimmer growing brighter in his eyes. A small smile appeared on his face. âSort of like old times, when weâd go on fishinâ trips together.âÂ
You smile at the sentiment, before completely changing your expression. â Mmmm,â you hum, causing Joel to look at you. His eyes narrow slightly in confusion. âDo I have to worry about you replacing me?â You jokingly narrow your eyes back at him, cocking your head to one side.Â
Joel let out a boisterous laugh. âGod no, never,â his response was quick with no hesitation. âI say that, but I can only take so much of him⌠ask me in a few more weeks and Iâll be begginâ on my hands and knees for you to come back.âÂ
A smile appeared on your face again, âI wonât make you beg too hard.â Joel instantly locked eyes with you through his brow-line, your stomach jumping at the eye contact.Â
âNo?â He raised his eyebrow as he spoke, his voice dark but somewhat playful as he gave you a devious smile.
You were the first to drop your gaze, followed up by Joel clearing his throat.Â
âUmâŚâ You fill the silence, trying to think of how to converse after that moment. In your peripheral view, you see Joel reach his hand over the table, gesturing toward you.Â
âI think about yaâ.â His eyes dart around as you look at him, searching for some sort of reaction from you. Everything around you went eerily silent. You raise your eyebrows almost stunned by this confession. All you wanted to say was: You do? However, you waited for him to continue, to take the lead on whatever was about to be said. It seems as if your reaction was enough because Joel nodded. âWhen Iâm doinâ patrol and you arenât there, at night before I fall asleep,â as he went on, he refused to look at you. From his expression you couldnât quite tell what his intent was telling you this. âIâIâmâŚâ At this point his head is hanging low, his eyes fixated on the table; he shook his head. âIâll be right back.âÂ
His tone was different than before, you sensed a bit of hesitation, perhaps embarrassment. You return with a curt nod, although he didnât give you a second look before he left and headed toward the stairs. You remained seated at the table as you listened to the thumps of each step he took, and when things went silent, you raised out of the chair. What just happened? Joelâs confession almost seemed unreal, did you imagine that just now? You turned in a circle, your eyes tracking the walls as you spin. Am I dreaming? Your face now twisted in confusion.Â
Walking out of the kitchen, you stand at the bottom of the staircase for a moment looking up. Joel was nowhere in sight. You blow out the air you had been holding on to as you pad over to the living room, turning on the light. Bracing your hand on the threshold, you paused.
It was considerably messy compared to the other parts of the house. A blanket was lazily draped over the back of the couch, the guitar laid on it back on the ground as if he had been playing it and put it there to come back to later. Records were scattered on top of the coffee table, alongside a book laying face down open.Â
As you approach the bookshelves on the back wall, you run your hand along the soft blanket and carefully step over the guitar.Â
Reaching for a book that had a red-brown leather exterior with silver foil details on the side, your ears perk up when you hear Joel coming down the steps. You remain still, running your fingers over the spine before pulling it out. You hear the floorboards creak as Joel gets closer and closer to the living room, the louder his steps get, the weight in your chest gets heavier. You remain still, not turning toward the entrance to acknowledge his presence.Â
Seconds seem to pass by in hours, until you feel his warmth behind you. âYou can borrow it if youâd like.â His voice shook slightly as he spoke, your breathing becoming shallow. No words would leave your throat.Â
Quickly, you turn to face him, your arm dropping to your side with the book still within your grasp. Joel took a single step toward you, closing the already little distance between your bodies. You brought your hand up to the middle of his chest, placing the palm of your hand flat against him; his heart was beating fast. Out of instinct, your body stiffens, your eyes softening as you lock onto his.Â
As you tilt your chin upwards, Joel leans in, his eyelids fluttering as the two of you become closer to one another. Your eyes remain wide open as you relish the sight, total relief overcoming you at what was about to happen. Your tortuous thoughts from earlier completely disappear and burn in the fire that rose in the core of your pelvis. It was just you and Joel right now. Right now that's all that mattered to you.Â
Just as his lips met yours, your eyes fluttered shut. Bursts of colors explode beneath your eyelids, and at some point the book slipped from your hands, landing with a dull thud. His hands were all over you now, one fisting at the back of your oversized night shirt, and the other gently caressing the side of your hip. Joelâs lips were soft, his movement a lot more gentle than you imagined on the many nights you couldnât sleep. Yet, he was still passionate and the intensity made jolts of electricity rush through your body.
You quickly pull back from him, both of your hands holding loosely onto his biceps. He went to lean in again, but you pulled back again. âTell me you want me to stay,â your voice is barely above a whisper, smooth and alluring. There was nothing more you wanted than this , what was happening right now. After that first dinner with Tommy and Joel, that was the turning point for you and ever since then thatâ Joel seemingly wanting it as much as you didâit was all you could think about whenever you were around him or when youâd see him at the bar, or across the community.Â
Joelâs hands glided down your back before he clasped them together. His eyes shift off to the side before returning to you. You could tell he was contemplating, just like you had earlier; doing thisâŚis it right or wrong? The way his hands press into your lower back told you that he wouldn't be able to resist you, not this time.Â
His throat bobs as he looks into your eyes, his eyes softening and his lips parting. No words came out as he leaned into you, placing his forehead on yours.Â
Joel nodded and whispers onto your lips, âStay. â
chapter eighteen coming soon! (I'm being so fr too, I'm just bad at writing smut and I want it to be perfect so bear with me)

It felt like she was never going to walk through that door, time unexpectedly reached a standstill lingering for her urgently to open that door and die from the death-defining adornment of all my love scattered through the apartment loft.
Anxious, I spent hours trying to find the best-looking outfit I could find and made sure it was her favorite color. Midori, the creation of yellow and blue. A green dress suit that complimented black pants and a pair of dress shoes embodied on me. I only desired perfection yet, she wouldn't want it any different. She would be happy even if I wore black sweats and a white t-shirt. From what I can recall earlier, she preached, âPlease donât go overboard about today, when I come back home, let's just smoke and lay in each other's arms? That could be our lil Valentine's Day right there." however, I feel like sometimes she doesnât know how tenacious I can be when I listen to her.
Call it crazy, I was never the type to do anything so grand as this. Granted, Iâm best with my hands yet Iâd never expected to create an outbreak of devotion to her. Petals of roses scattered all over the floor, the flame of the candles shining so bright like an August day, inhaling the air of romance in the atmosphere, and centering the stage with her favorite songs faintly singing their way throughout the placeâŚ.
God, she's gonna kill meâŚ
âShit Y/N, stop making me panic like crazy just hurry pleaseâŚâ I prayed in my head, disregarding the fact that the more I kept my eyes on the door the more Iâd be tempted to faint. âCâmon baby, make it home quick.â
Pacing, fidgeting of fingers as I tried to ignore how nervous I was. âShit.â I groaned to myself, placing my arms behind my head. For a moment, I thought I heard keys fidgeting at the door. Anxiety rushed all over me again, striding toward the door and then taking a slight step back.
âFuck,â I groaned, âI-I canât do thisâŚâ I uttered in my head.
âBaby Iâm home-â She spoke before being astounded at the place. I could sense her soft footsteps kissing the floor, loving every moment of this affection. Nonetheless, I hid in the master bathroom. Heart pulsating out my chest, I had no clue why I felt terrified to meet her.
She drives me crazy, I hate the way I get with herâŚ
I hate that she tenses me up without doing absolutely anything to meâŚ
Her gentle voice sang out my name yet I refused. It was guilt, agitation, and love fighting in my body right now. I couldnât regulate to move.
âRyohei? Where are you amor come out,â She questioned, sauntering up the stairs to the bedroom. âBaby you donât understand how in love I am with the place. You didnât have to do this.â
âG-Give me a second hani, I-Iâm in the bathroom.â I notified her, head thrown into my palms as I elongated a groan.
âHeyâŚâ She expressed, embracing her body against the bathroom door. âDonât hide from me. Donât be nervous baby, I love what you did. Thank you for that.â
A weak giggle flew from my lips, âHani Iâm fine I swear. I just had to use the bathroom thatâs all. You love it huh?â
I could hear her voice pitch up scarcely, chuckling while battling to open the door for me. âRyohei câmon, I wanna see you.â
Hesitated, my hands trembling as if the temperature plunged in the room. I held my breath for an instant, my hand reaching out for the knob. A slight turn for the lock, gradually opening the door was all I needed to do before her eyes lit with a thousand stars.
âHiâŚâ I spoke, shoving my hands in my pockets as her eyes scrutinized my frame.
âYou went all out for me,â She confessed, creeping closer to me with her hands elevated towards my chest. âYou look so handsome cariĂąo, oh my godâŚâ She adored, inclining her head against my neck.
âIâm sorry for-â
âI know itâs okay, you went all out for me I know this probably overwhelmed you.â
âI just feel like I made this awkward now. I hid away from you and itâs likeâŚIâve been waiting for you all day you donât understand mama I-
How swiftly, her lips shut my doubts up. Her fingers, locked themselves up behind my waist. Her tongue, communicating with mine. She made me melt in her embrace, I didnât know where to position my hands. It was so bad how this kiss instantly made me desperate for her.
My head tilted inwards, permitting her hand to crawl up my back to the strands of my hair. She certainly knew for a fact that this was all gonna be in her control yet, I desired things to change for a second. Her free hand seizes my neck as her kisses trailed down my lips to my jawline. I guess this was her turn to show me her devotion to me cause, it had me to a point where it illustrated all over my face how badly I wanted to touch her beautiful body. All her pent from work, relieved from my bare hands. Even though she was always the one to command, I yearned for this to be all about her.
âHow was work baby?â I communicated, my hand going for the back of her head as she made love to my neck.
âIt was slow, butâŚAll I thought about was you. I couldn't wait to get here.â
âThat'sâŚâ I spoke before sighing at her gentle bites. âGood to hear baby, I've just been doing this all day.â
âI can tell, you do love me.â She whispered in my ear. Kissing it gradually, she was luring me deeply into her pool of lust.
âCâmon baby, let me take this off you.â I offered, taking her coat off. As she became free from the restriction of her puffer coat, her hands latched onto my entire body. âBaby, it's okay you don't gotta rush.â
âIt's not me rushing, you deserve this.â
âI deserve this? All I did was just show you how much you mean to me, you always show me how much you love me. Granted I do, but I wanna do it in a form-â
I could feel her taking the lead, slowly walking back to the bed as she clung to me. âMi amor, you talk too damn much. Just look pretty and let me do everything okay?â
I giggled, âAlright don't fuck with me like that."
She giggled in unison, âYouâre everything to me. I love you, but you need to realize how much you are worth. You're worth every fucking thing on this planet.â
I guess this was it.
I guess this is where it ends.
All this shyness, is gone.
I guess, this was where I made a mark.
I pushed her onto the bed, leaping on top of her frame. My hands grasping her neck as if she disrespected every inch of me. This went along with a harsh, desperate kiss.
I heard a whimper, yet that didn't cross my mind at all. I could tell she was surprised with every bit of emotion rushing throughout her body in this moment. Mainly, I was focused on one thing.
âNobodyâs ever told me that before until I met you. You love me too damn much, that's one thing I fucking hate about you. I hate how you make me feel this way and don't let me do anything in return.â I spoke right in her ear, her pants in mine as a form of a response.
âRyoheiâŚâ She sighed.
âI want you,â I demanded, finding my way down my belt buckle. âI want you to let me do everything.â
Her hands reached on my belt, supporting me with unbuckling. Crazy, it seemed like I had her wrapped around my finger.
Assertive, her hand went inside my pants.
Heart felt, the way I spoke in her ear.
Temptation, her hands trying not to go any further.
âI won't stop you at all.â
âY/NâŚâ
âDo it please, I promise I won't stop you.â
Her desperate hands found me in my boxers, exposing myself on her own. Her kisses deprived my lips again, this time with a sense of belonging to be submitted to me.
Her defeat, she wanted this from me all along.
So in my response...
Don't hold this back, let it outâŚ.
First, it was me losing myself in between her legs.
Her thighs were gripped with my cold hands as I kissed the lips of her deprived pussy, darting into her eyes while I licked her sensitive clit. She felt the exhilaration instantly, her hands lost in my hair as she whimpered for me to slow down and stop. Still, such a beautiful woman who doesn't know how hard-headed I can be.
"Fuck." She moaned, "Ryohei just like that, lick me like that."
I answered her demands, licking her til she would see stars while I had my free hand teasing the entrance of her hymen. Entreating her right, she kept trying to close her legs yet I retained them open with all my might.
"You're all in my mouth." I teased, "All in my mouth."
She winced, panting at my fingers fucking her, imitating what I had planned for in a moment. Her begs and cries, all in my ear like a siren luring in a sailor. She had me hypnotized.
"I've never been so jealous of fingers in my life." I teased once again, "Mama, why are you holding yourself back?"
"I-I'm not."
"No?"
"Y-Yeah."
"Why are you lying to me?" I spoke, inching myself up to her face. "Don't lie to me."
I then lost myself in her eyes, brushing her hair from her cheeks. Nobody said anything, just a swift grab from her back, switching positions that transitioned this moment.
Her warm skin was positioned on top of me as her hand latched on my chest while straining to place me inside her. Her eyes revealed all her lust, how she begged for me without even saying a word. Gradually, she consumed all of me. Songs in unison, allowing me to thrust deep inside her warmth. It was as if this was the last day we'd be together. Who would have known, I'd be the one in control of this.
âHold my hands mama, let me help you.â I panted, observing her lustful face as her body fucked with mine. âNobody can hear you let it out for me baby.â
âDon't say that Ryohei.â She moaned, tossing her head back.
âWhy?â I conversed, âThe way I'm talking to you, does it bother you?â
âYou know exactly what you're doing.â She groaned, vigorously grinding herself to the profound thrusts I provided.
âTell me then, what am I exactly doing then? Speak to me mama, tell me what I'm doing to you.â Overstimulated, her hands released mine and grasped on my neck. This encouragement I gave was gonna finish with something grand I persisted to myself. However, it seemed like even when this is finished. She's gonna want more.
My cold hands rushed to her nipples, caressing them with gentle squeezes. The evil giggles she made that were intended with lust filled my ears, moaning afterward when I brought her close for me to suck on.
âI want you on top.â She panted faintly.
âWhat did you say?â I questioned, slowing my strokes.
âPlease,â She panted, âGet on top of me.â
My eyes dilated, soon switching positions. She looked so innocent, like a porcelain doll. So fragile if I were to even touch her, sheâd break. My arms found themselves beside her head as she held the support placing me inside her again. Silk soft legs, trapping me around my waist as a so-called embrace.
âIs this a trap?â
âWhat are you gonna do if I say yes?â
Aggressive, I thrusted once. Her gasp left her lips however before getting just a slight exhale, I placed my index finger right inside her needy mouth. Creeping myself closer to her face, she was like a model, a sight of pure beauty to me. This was all mine.
All of her was mine...
All of mines, to ruin...
Sounds of sin, the aroma of sex, the sloppiest of kisses, the sensing of sweaty skin, all at once could be seen as a form of art. My hand went from her lips to fondling her chin as the other maintained my balance, compelling her to look directly into my eyes as I slowly stroked up the pace.
âYou want it like this baby?â I moaned, observing her surrender her beautiful body to me. "Tell me your beautiful thoughts I promise it won't hurt to just tell me."
âI-I canât,â She panted, straining to fuck me in unison. âControl me fuck, I feel like such a whore Ryohei I'm sorry-â
âNo no, fuck me like a whore then, donât be scared baby. Show me how much of whore you can be to me.â I encouraged her, leaving her to snatch my hand and kiss my fingers, slowly suckling them.
âRuin me, ruin me.â she entreated. First my thumb, then my index finger along with my middle. She replicated what she would do to me, It was to a point where I could die right from how much of a slut I turned her into. Neediness overfilling her eyes as she wished for me to cum...
Was it bad that I faintly felt it?
âRuin? Did I bother you too much hani? I'm sorry, that's all my fault. Isn't it?â I giggled, moaning afterward.
âDonât apologize,â she panted, removing my damp hair that began to cover my eyes from the thrusting. âI love everything youâre doing to me.â
âI forgot to tell you how beautiful you looked today. Mama is this what you want from me?" I intended, my lips inches away from hers. "Yes, this is what you want, right? You want me to talk to you like this when I fuck you like this baby? Tell me I know you do." Brown profound eyes, darting right into her soul as she hesitates to choose which action to make, panting or moaning her heart out of the pleasurable feeling of me penetrating her swollen pussy. Her grip was so strong I couldn't help but moan to her embrace on it.
Her eyes were in such worry yet, smiling like a complete slut at my weakness. Her right hand on my neck, resisting herself to combust from me. âKeep talking like that and I swear Iâll cum all on you.â
âDo it, mark all the things that belong to you. Mark your territory baby, cum on my dick.â I intended, deepening my penetration to hit her where it hurts.
Her head was sunken into the pillow and her hand that existed on my neck soon felt her body. Rushing hands, all on her breast. Generously squeezing her nipple to the stimulation, god it was all my fault she acted this way with me. Her luscious lips were soon bitten. I could tell she was starting to feel her climax.
âIâŚI canâtâŚRyoheiâŚâ She moaned, arching her back leaving me to slide my hand under. Obtaining her close, I departed subtle kisses on her neck down to her chest.
âDo everything on me. Like I said before, show me how much of a slut I turned you into.â I groaned, maneuvering my head to her deprived breasts, brushing her finger away to allow placement of my tongue on her nipples. Sucking passionately, I offered her soft bites to signify my admiration to her breast instead of just her pussy and her lips. And so, just when I thought this session would last for a while longer, I winced at myself gaining a strong sense of sensitivity. âTell me where you want me to cum mama, give me what you want.â
She panted, âNo, no donât do it yet, please. I wanna keep going please, donât stop Ryohei please.â
I awed, âIâm making you feel good, arenât I? You want more of me huh?â
âS-Shut up.â
âShut up? Mama think before you speak. You said you love everything Iâm doing, right?â I taunted, pulling out of her. âYou told me to ruin you, donât take back anything.â
âR-Ryohei why did you-â
She found herself on top of me again, this time her eyes darting to the ceiling. My grip, so profound, and down on the stands of her hair, her back arched to the tension. Devouring, her needy pussy embracing my dick made my body rush with nerves. God, Iâd loved to watch her fuck me if we placed mirrors on the ceiling. Observing her face full of pain from my thrusts, her perky nipples all alone likewise yet the hypnotic bouncing would be such a movie Iâd reminisce every single fucking day.
âLose yourself to me Y/N, let me be the only one to see you like this. I wanna be the only one to make you this filthy.â
The exertion she had was overwhelming mine, I felt depleted to where I lost grasp of her hair. She sensed me discharging, âAmor, please. Donât stop please, let me help you.â She pleaded, going on all fours. âI need you.â
The minute she slid up, I directly jerked up from the sensation on my tip. Yet, she never left that spot. I worshiped every moment, her pussy fucking my tip knowing damn well she desired for me to cum.
âYou want it inside you mama? Advise me.â I demanded, seizing her arms and bearing them back aggressively, gasping on her back. âLet me do it inside you, let me cum inside you.â
âDo it then Ryohei, let it out please.â
âY/N, I'm starting to...W-Wait I feel it.â
My eyes latched, throwing my head back as I moaned as loud with all the strength I still had.
Yet, this feeling only grew stronger.
Grasping my hair, I couldnât help to sustain my body from all this pleasure.
But, once I opened my eyes. Her beautiful eyes were met with mine, but her mouth was full of me.
âI thoughtâŚI thought I came inside youâŚ.â I huffed, wincing at her subtly licking me.
âYou really did lose yourself." She giggled, following her tongue down my shaft.
âFuck,â I huffed, âYou're an evil woman yâknow?â
âYeah, you know I love you right?â
âUh-huhâ
Her tongue had found a home on my dick, licking my hardened tip as she motionlessly kept her gaze on me. âGood, I want you to remember that.â She grinned, spitting on it as she watched me jolt up again.
âY-Y/N!?âŚâ Whines, the pain yet pleasure filled my soul. Seizing her hair, I forcefully fucked myself into her filthy mouth for a moment. âThatâs what you wanted huh? All of me in your mouth right like this?â
Her soft giggles flew in the air, âYeah, it seems like you wanted it more than me.â
I soon hauled her up to my face, kissing her passionately as I released her from my grasp.
Once again, she got on top of me but soon began wrapping the covers on us. âI love you.â
âI love you too.â I spoke, caressing her in my arms as I kissed her forehead. âGod, you took everything outta me.â
As we snuggled in each otherâs arms, it went silent. Taking in this void of quietness, my lips soon parted those soft, heavenly words of...
âHani, I forgot to tell you once you got home...Happy Valentineâs Day.âĽď¸"
