Do you have a Rosier damily tree you can ahow or describe?

i have, yes! i have to say, though, that the only members of the rosier family that exist in canon are minette, vinda, druella, evan, felix, and an anonymous rosier who could be evan's father. i made up the rest of the names.

this is minette's family (canon):

i created a storyline for some of the characters of my family tree. starting with the first twins of the family, remy and rainier, who, in a very castor and pollux way, fight over the inheritance and kill each other. later, deodat tries to avenge his father, but etienne kills him, becoming the heir of the family.

skipping a generation, there are two other brothers who can't stand each other, and they are cedric and aleksandre II. they hate each other because cedric is very conservative (in fact vinda, his daughter, will later follow grindelwald), while aleksandre is more open-minded. i like the fact that, through minette, the rosier family is linked to the lestranges, so aleksandre, who doesn't marry and has no children, adopts an angus lestrange (made up name), who's an orphan.

i was then thinking about druella, who marries one of her daughters (bellatrix) to a lestrange, probably based on the ties that have existed for a long time between the two families. and then, given that druella herself married a black, i wanted to create a bond between the two families even before her marriage. so, thanks to @vulcajes, we have felix I and elladora black.

another detail i love: at a certain point, a woman brings into the rosier family a disease that manifests itself very slowly, and that strikes women causing them to die prematurely. or, kept alive by very powerful potions, it makes them survive in a thousand physical sufferings until the disease reaches the point where these women are no longer even able to cast spells or see magic. it makes them muggles. louise rosier is the first to show these symptoms, and dies at twenty-five. amélie rosier lives until she's fifty, and then kills herself. pandora is also struck by the disease, but dies before her condition worsens.

i also don't like to headcanon felix (II) as evan and pandora's little brother, but as their cousin. he keeps his mother's name because he's the illegitimate son of a muggle.

some random headcanons about the family: i like to think that all the rosiers went to beauxbatons. but i also find very very interesting what @hanidern says in their fic -> the rosiers were forced to attend hogwarts after what happened with vinda. and this would explain how evan's father met voldemort.

in general, i think the rosier family is a bit of a bubbly family. not eccentric. but, compared to the english ones, they love colors, music, laughter. you can win them all over if you have a good sense of humor. also, they practice magic without a wand; but, for evan and pandora, it's much more difficult than it was for their grandparents. they are a family of travelers and explorers. they have homes scattered probably all over the world. despite this, however, they consider themselves french before anything else. every member of the family is born in rosier manor.

Severus Snape Headcanons for my upcoming Fanfic!

Part Two - Contains MAJOR Spoilers so read at your own discretion.

 Was A Hat Stall. It took the Sorting hat exactly 7 minutes to decide whether to place him in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. Ultimately, it yielded to Severus’s pleas and chose to sort him into Slytherin.

 Should he have chosen Ravenclaw, maybe things with Lily and The Marauders would have turned out differently.

 Can See Thestrals after the accidental death of Tobias (and his own) and helps out Professor Kettleburn in feeding them for extra lessons. 

 He of course had read about them in Care of Magical Creatures, but he never thought he would ever see any at such a young age. 

 Though maybe he should have, given how his father treated his family. It was only a matter of who it would have been.

His Animagus is a Fox, many would think it would be a bat, with how people often compare him to a vampire.

 That's not to say that his Fox is just any ordinary fox, because his bat-like appearance did manifest on his animagus, for his Fox is a Bat-Eared-Fox. 

 Just how bats have larger-than-their-heads ears, so does this breed of foxes.

Invented Discedere Malsti, with the inspiration of Expecto Patronum. Where the Patronus Charm defends with an illuminating light Guardian, causing Danger to flee, thus allowing its castor to remain safe, Discedere Malsti helps its castor by shadowing them in darkness, thus allowing them to escape.

 It's known that Expecto Patronum is conjured by a happy memory, in order for Discedere Malsti to create thick shadows, one must conjure it by a devastating memory.

The Barbara twins, Polly and Cassie. Polly is a magical girl who can solve problems just by waving her wand, while Cassie is a normal girl who can do everything just by working hard. Due to their jealousy towards each other, the girls often fight. One day, their mom gets kidnapped by a scientist to make her find magical beings for his research. The sisters must now work together against the kidnapper, overcome supertech with magic and cunning, and save their beloved mom.

This was a very fun prompt fill for "Barbie", "Gemini", and "stars". Barbie has always been a part of how I defined femininity, and for me she was dainty, elegant, and fashionable. The part of Barbie's outfit which I loved the most for some reason was her standard pink high heels, so I designed Polly and Cassie from the shoes upwards. The Gemini twins are supposedly the twin half brothers Pollux, a demigod, and Castor, a mortal man. Much of this is in the lore, though I guess it also shows up in Polly's star wand and Cassie's star pen. Stars are always a fun symbol to work with for character designs. I know star-shaped bags exist, but I also feel like they're inconvenient and inefficient compared to rectangular or trapezoidal bags.

This is gonna sound pick me but i genuinely think Idris’ would be a lion

I dont think theyd be picky but theyd be super excited its a lion

Gold! No particular reason, just gold and teal

I did! Idris has a yew wand with thestral hair core because the wand is rumored to have power over life and death

Not really a specific outfit, they will literally eat pretty much anything

Idris (and Percival) didnt go to Hogwarts because their father kept sending the letters back with the reply saying his children would not be attending. Then he died and the twins were stuck in an orphanage. Professor Fig personally showed up to tell them about Hogwarts and magic and they decided to go 5th year

8) what house is your mc in? why are they in that house?

Gryffindor because they are a brave, noble, bold, and self-sacrifing fool and have an impulsive/recklessness problem

9) were you inspired by characters from other media when making your mc? if so, which characters? and how did they influence your mc?

Not from media, but Idris is inspire by another older character of mine named Castor

Nothing except the Ancient Magic and some light necromancy

They're both half-bloods but it doesn't affect them that much. The most it does is that they were raised muggles and have to try and uncover their father's legacy

They did not because they knew they didn't want that much power

Idris has a lot of blind faith in the Keepers and has a habit of defending them, even thought they're manipulating them and talk down to them all the time. Think Harry and Dumbledore

They had two parents who were amazing parents and a little sister Annabelle but all three were killed by Ranrok and their father did lie to them their whole lives

Amit! Amit is so sweet and so smart and cute and that is EXACTLY Idris’ type. Amit infodumped about the astronomy tables and Idris was making heart eyes the whole time

I wish we could unlock like, new AM powers. They can hardly do anything outside of the finishers but we see Isidora and the Keepers doing all kinds of cool shit

Idris gets an owl over the summer so they can stay in touch with people, specifically a snowy owl. They also get particularly attached to a pink Puffskein they rescue so they name her Flower

I cant explain it but its like they came to me in a vision. I had such a clear image of what i wanted them to look like

They were a six minute hat stall between Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. For this they ended up in Slytherin the same reason Ambrose did, their willingness to do anything, ANYTHING, it takes if they feel they need to. Everyone else be damned.

They have a little wooden doll they like to use as a figure model that their dad hand made them

I love love love that they're a fashion designer, also that they do not conform to gender at all with their style, they will wear dresses and skirts and such if they look good

As a cleric specialist who also has played a few paladins, in modern dnd I would say they are complementary but not necessarily similar. You could have a cleric and a paladin that are essentially the same or they could not be more different.

A cleric is defined by their devotion and worship of a deity. More broadly they take on certain flavor of abilities depending on what kind of deity that is. So your subclasses and your deities tie together. Except for War Clerics, most clerics are not physical fighters. In old school dnd they were not allowed to use edged weapons, only blunt ones. That's a somewhat illogical rule that was deleted at some point. But in practice most clerics I've ever seen are just castors who might wield a wand or staff or rod but mostly don't use weapons unless forced to, because their magic is just BETTER. Their magic is also more versatile than many magic classes because it is powered by divine power: they don't need a spell book like wizards, they get way more spell slots than warlocks, they can switch spells way more often than any other class, and they use their holy symbol as a focus instead of spell components. They can call on their divine abilities to do special things like turn or destroy undead, that no one else can.

So while clerics are primarily a caster class, paladins are primarily a fighting class. They don't get cantrips, they have much more limited access to spells/slots (they are half casters), and they are much better with weapons. They do have access to a lot of the same spells, but it's much more limited and "emergency use" than clerics. Primarly damage of a paladin is always going to be from weapons than spells because they don't have enough spells to go around. Hence "lay on hands" which is pretty much an emergency instant HP fix.

Philosophically, paladins don't have to be religious at all. They are devoted to a CAUSE or set of BELIEFS. A code of conduct. They are KNIGHTS. The actual paths vary wildly in what their cause is, from protection of nature to upholding the law to serving the church. I've played a very nature oriented paladin, an art and celebration focused paladin, and a paladin that was essentially a parole officer serving a jail. But religion doesn't need to be involved at all.

Can you go over what is going on with Paladins and Clerics in DND, not from a mechanical or in universe perspective, but from what different sources/genres/tropes they are drawing on? They always seemed to have too much overlap in the basic concept to me to make sense as separate things in the dnd classes/stock character line up.

Clerics originated way back in the pre-OD&D days, when the game that would become Dungeons & Dragons was still a fantasy roleplaying add-on intended to be paired with your favourite historical wargame. One of the players in Dave Arneson's original Blackmoor campaign had an army whose commander/player character was a vampire named Sir Fang, who proved to be sufficiently overpowered that a mechanical "hard counter" was desired.

This ended up taking the form of a vampire-hunting priest character heavily inspired by Peter Cushing's turn as Abraham Van Helsing in the 1958 Christopher Lee adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula; that vampire-hunting priest in turn developed into what would become one of original flavour D&D's three core classes (the other two being the fighter and the wizard – the thief/rogue came later).

The paladin, meanwhile, was originally a direct, 1:1 lift of Holger Carlsen, the protagonist of Poul Anderson's 1961 fantasy novel Three Hearts and Three Lions, and was introduced as a subclass of the fighter – rather than a class of its own – in the 1975 Greyhawk supplement. Over the game's editions it's wandered from being a fighter subclass, to being a high-level "advanced class" to which qualifying characters can switch at 10th level, back to being a fighter subclass, and finally to a core class, where it's generally remained.

So, in short, the cleric was originally a purpose-built hard counter to vampires PCs loosely patterned after Peter Cushing's Abraham Van Helsing, while the paladin was originally for people who just really wanted to be one specific Poul Anderson character.

(I'm sorry if that's not a terribly satisfying answer, but you need to understand that practically everything in old-school D&D is a 1960s or 1970s pop culture reference – it just doesn't read that way to modern audiences because nobody gets the memes anymore.)

A deathly silence spread throughout the open field, and despite the growing heat of summer, a cold freeze settled over. A cold so frigid, frost had begun to accumulate over green grass starting from where Antares had stopped dead in her tracks after Marlene’s slight.

“What did you call me?”

“The bitch is deaf, too, it seems.”

“Marlene!”

“Ah, so she dared.” Replied Antares as she started to remove blue robes followed by a copper tie. Confusion arose when she then started to unbutton her plaid waistcoat, an uneasiness tension as it joined the growing pile of clothes on the frosty ground. And when she moved to unbutton her dress shirt, Sirius spoke, cutting through the silence that no one else dared interrupt.

“Antares, dont.”

“They have grown too familiar with you, Orion. Tell me, do your friends think that because I'm not a Slytherin that it makes me like you? She will pay for her slander.” Once Antares removed her shirt, collective gasps and loud whispers escaped closed lips. White cotton replaced tanned flesh and horrific—deep—red scars. Three jagged marks over both her shoulders, down the back of her right upper arm was another set of marks, running through her elbow and to the wrist. Her back, what could be seen given Antares still wore her vest, bore five lesions in the area between spine and head. And when she turned, a massive burnt scar spread over her chest. Her skin leathery and uneven and so red it's as if whatever flame had caused it was permanently caught inside the thickness of it.

It was unexpected. For such a beauty, a member of a prestigious house, to be marred in such viciousness. Such savagery.

James has seen those kinds of scars before. Knows that the only way Antares could be left scarred as she is was because no amount of wiggenweld, dittany, nor any other magical healing potions could ever help in getting rid of them.

He knew, and when he turned to Peter, he knew that he'd understood, too. Sirius… did not react like the rest; he must've known already.

He's afraid. James noticed the way he had put himself between Marlene and his cousin, so when Antares took a step closer, he unclasped his wand, pointing it towards her. “Don’t.”

“You will step aside, Orion.”

“I can't. You know I can't.”

“Sirius, what the hell! I don't need you to shield me away, I can take care of it myself.”

“I know you can Mars, but not against her.”

“Do it.” Antares commanded, and Sirius’s twisted wand went flying across the frozen field, right into Castor's hands. Instantly, Marlene takes out her own wand, a beautiful dark brown rod. Not a second later, it too flew to Antares' own hand. She threw it to the ground, breaking through the thin layer of ice as it impaled the soft earth below before burying it in its entirety with a stomp of her foot. Taking another step forward, she extended both arms out in front of her, hands in a snapping position as she regarded her brothers behind her.

“Make sure no one intervenes.” Twin snaps ricochet a burning blue dome that throws everyone away, leaving Antares, Sirius, and Marlene inside the half sphere. Castor tosses away Sirius’s wand and gets a hold of his own, left hand pointing towards the shield his sister had created as wisps of blue and white shoot out. His right hand glows in grey as it's positioned next to his head, a mimic of how one is supposed to stand before a duel. Next to him, a perfect mirror of each other, stands his brother, Pollux.

A tenacious young woman, Bellatrix possesses the ferocity of her father of CYGNUS BLACK [father] and the charm and bone structure of her mother DRUELLA BLACK [mother]. Raised with strict beliefs regarding blood purity, Bellatrix grew up believing her family were the elite in the wizarding world and strived to make them proud. Whilst NARCISSA BLACK [sibling] longed to find a handsome pure-blood prince like Druella and ANDROMEDA BLACK [sibling] wanted to be just like Cygnus and lock away the bad guys, she was different. The idea that a muggle-born could sit as the Minister of Magic was shocking to her, although a career in the Ministry sounded appealing, the idea of working alongside blood traitors made her blood curdle. Bellatrix enjoyed the attention that embracing their family rhetoric brought her, including from her very busy father. Cygnus was often at work, meaning gaining his ear was difficult. At dinner, Bellatrix would proudly announce what she had learned and her thoughts and ideas about the world, much to her mother’s embarrassment. Druella longed to have three well behaved daughters to make respectable marriages. 

Her father encouraged them all to have their own minds beyond that, although even Bellatrix could tell that sometimes her overly aggressive need to give her opinion made even her father grimace, secretly scared she might blurt something out at a work party. Although she believed it with all her heart she was careful to choose private moments to make her opinions known, knowing to some they weren’t popular. Once at Hogwarts, Bellatrix tried to find those who would mirror her thoughts, though her tact as a young child was far from perfect. She established herself as the strongest character in her school, packing a punch with her wand and ensuring that mudblood and muggle-borns knew not to darken in her presence. CASTOR WILKES, [best friend], NATALIA SIMINOVA [close friend], RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE [friend] and ARISTAEUS GREENGRASS [friend] became her closest friends. Good pure-blood Slytherins who shared her thoughts and feelings. Other people like DOLORES UMBRIDGE [rival], were desperate to join the fun, but Bellatrix hadn’t decided how she felt about half-bloods, though she did know her feelings on the pathetic, so Dolores became an occasional target for good old fashioned schoolyard bullying, despite her thoughts on purity. 

Bellatrix really came into her own, however, in her later years of Hogwarts, when she had younger pupils to follow her around and aid in her schemes. Her cousin EVAN ROSIER [cousin] joining really changed the game at Hogwarts, as did LUCIUS MALFOY [friend], DECIUS FLINT [friend] and ALFHILD ROWLE [close friend]. It was all school games until her final year, when her entire outlook changed. At her parents’ Yule Eve party she was sent to collect a bottle of her father’s best firewhiskey from his study, where she was approached by an older wizard she had not met before. He asked about her life at home, her friends at school and replied that she was destined for more than the schoolgirl antics. Later that evening her father would tell her she had a very special task, to return to school and seek out those like her, who could be persuaded to be more open in the right settings to speak on their way of thinking. Bellatrix knew that Evan, Castor and Alfhild were certainly just like her, as was Lucius; though she needed more time to be certain. She began telling a small circle about THE DARK LORD [leader/object of affection] and his rhetoric, which they were all too eager to learn more about. 

About to leave school, she knew the key to success was to get into the minds of those younger. THORFINN ROWLE [friend] was quickly recruited and later RABASTAN LESTRANGE [close friend]. Only the very best could be entrusted at this stage, the numbers would come with trust. After leaving school, Bellatrix noticed her father began to intrust her with more responsibility, allowing her to know his personal thoughts and feelings, knowing now she could be discreet. With his blessing they decided it was best for Bellatrix not be brought out into society just yet. Her reputation as a bully at school had meant people had begun to look at her, which wasn’t helpful given their aims. Instead she stayed at home, studying families and identifying persons of interest, then passing owls to those still at school to carry out their aims. The Dark Lord visited often and then after a while, he began requesting Bellatrix come to him. Living in his residence where she could be at his beck and call, just where she liked it. The Dark Lord trusted her to build her own team to surround him. Evan became her right hand, with Rabastan becoming more and more valuable to her the older he became. 

When the murders began happening of course she and her team were behind them, though no one would know. She’d been ‘travelling’, learning and growing. Bully Bellatrix was in the past, replaced by a polite yet stern society girl, though she still publicly ignored her blood traitor cousin SIRIUS BLACK [cousin/adversary]. The aim was to work in plain sight and recruit as many as possible. Some people didn’t listen to reason and measures had to be taken. Recruiting her younger cousin REGULUS BLACK [cousin] helped in this area as he worked for Wizengamot with Andromeda and Rodolphus, which meant burying evidence was easier. Recruitment was going well, which meant it was time to enact phase two of his plan, creating chaos within the Ministry. The plan was triggered early when her usually trustworthy protege Rabastan murdered the Minister’s son BOOKER BAGNOLD [person of interest] in cold blood on Halloween, but in hindsight it had been a blessing in disguise. The plan was clear. Make people believe there was a series of creature attacks, let the Ministry turn on them, recruit the people turning on the Ministry, recruit the creatures who feel put out. 

SILAS CRUMP [victim] was a tragedy. Sent to Azkaban for Booker’s murder, when he could have simply joined the cause and leant his expertise and leadership to them, though they were fortunate enough to have come away with his daughter CORIN HALE [person of interest] to aid in recruitment. Bellatrix found that although she was able to carry out The Dark Lord’s plans, other people were constantly making stupid choices that impeded his mission. AMELIA BONES [victim] had to die because she’d come to suspect the truth about Booker. Summer Solstice 1983, she watched with poisoned smirk as a voice echoed that The Order's HQ had fallen and a prophecy they so needed was in hand. Fighting ensured, MARLENE MCKINNON [person of interest] crucioed ROSALINE DAVIS [person of interest] under the imperious and Bellatrix made off with the leg of ALASTOR MOODY [adversary]. Chaos was ensuing, but more was to come. Almost three years on from Amelia’s death, the Ministry needed to seem more unstable than ever. With her trusted follower CRISTIANO PARKINSON [close friend/potential love interest] handling The Dark Lord’s mission for locating special artefacts, Bellatrix can focus on the more important things. Starting 1986 off with a bang.

The Crew of the Starcruiser Pollux:

Pip: Cute magical fairy creature! He has boundless amounts of positivity and a magic wand known as a "MagiTool". It can cast a variety of spells, like "Turn to Candy" and "Get Big".

Locc: Nervous and nerdy robo-cop. Extensive knowledge in human culture, mostly from the 20th century. He learned his detective skills from his universe's equivalent to Columbo.

Zipper: Stoic and noble dragon swordsman with super speed and fire breath.

A.M.I.: Cute, clumsy robot assistant. Her name is short for Artificial Multi-technological Intelligence. That means she can interface with multiple forms of technology and control them. She can also do super fast calculations and can shift her hands into blasters.

The Crew of the Starcruiser Castor:

Bumblesnoot: Mad scientist bug alien that doesn't like to be called small. He also has some form of super strength (ya know, to carry his big ass laser guns?)

Gillian: Aloof and sarcastic fish alien lackey. A bit of a pessimist.

Saryahann: Big dumb muscle of the group. She can track down enemies with her good sense of smell and has a really good photographic memory. She also has super strength and very tough skin. She's also really smart, but she's doesn't use her intelligence often.

ENTITY: A bootleg of the A.M.I. robots. Has similar abilities to A.M.I., but she can also absorb technological organisms to gain more strength.
