STUDIO CITY, CA – November 15, 2022 – Brooke D’Orsay (“Wedding of a Lifetime,” “Royal Pains”) and Ryan Paevey (“Two Tickets to Paradise,” “Coyote Creek Christmas”) star in “A Fabled Holiday,” a new, original movie premiering Saturday, December 3 (8 p.m. ET/PT), on Hallmark Channel as part of the network’s annual “Countdown to Christmas” programming event.

Talia (D’Orsay) and her childhood best friend Anderson (Paevey) delight in the pages of A Wunderbrook Christmas Story, in which a town full of Christmas spirit restores its visitors during their times of deep turmoil. Years later, Talia is a stalled writer who’s given up her pen, and Anderson is a doctor, shaken after a patient’s passing. They unexpectedly reunite in a curiously similar-looking town depicted in the book they loved, along with widower Charles (John Prowse, “Riverdale”) and soon-to-be divorced couple, Keith (David Attar, “Autumn in the City”) and Diane (Carmel Amit, “Virgin River”). The local townspeople, led by Judy (Rochelle Greenwood, “Peacemaker”) and Miles (John Murphy, “Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries”), worry they may not fulfill their mission in time for the closing Night of Wunder event this year, putting access to the secretly magical town in jeopardy. Nonetheless, as these visitors enjoy the town’s Week of Wunder festivities, with the clock ticking, each person is slowly starting to heal.

“A Fabled Holiday” is BRB Pictures production. Jenni Baynham, Chaya Ransen and Kristofer McNeeley are executive producers. Robyn Wiener serves as produce. Ruby Munro directed from a story written by E.S. Dolan Dix and Samantha Herman.

October 20th - Shadow Thief


Carl Sands was a career criminal who became obsessed with shadows when his own shadow gave him away and led to his being arrested and sentenced to prison. While incarcerated, Sands conducted experiments on shadows and accidentally made contact with a being called Thar Dan from the Xarapion Dimension. In return for saving the creature’s life, Sands was bestowed a device known as a ‘Dimensiometer’ which provides the ability to shift his body into a two-dimensional, and intangible shadow state as well as draw strength from adjacent shadows. Sands was additionally provided a specialized pair of gloves that allowed him to hold objects while in shadow form. Renaming himself The Shadow Thief, he broke out of prison and embarked on a crime spree. The villain was eventually defeated by Hawkman, the first of many encounters between the two. The Shadow Thief later became a member of the Injustice Gang and battled The Justice League of America. A second villain to operate under the name of The Shadow Thief was Carl Hammer, a wealthy industrialist who had his shadow-suit built in order to do away with his corporate rivals. A third Shadow Thief has appeared in the Nu52 Universe. This version is a former agent of The Mossad named Aviva Metula. Metula wears a suit of armor called the ‘shadow skin’ that provides powers similar to those offered by the Dimensiometer. Metula became the new Shadow Thief so to hunt and kill alien invaders; a matter that brought her into conflict with Hawkman. The Metula version of The Shadow Thief has featured in the television series Arrow portrayed by actress Carmel Amit. The original Shadow Thief first appeared in the pages of The Brave and The Bold #36 (1961); The Carl Hammer version first appeared in The Vigilante #14 (1985); while the Aviva Metula version first appeared in Savage Hawkman #17 (2013).
