Just thinking about Buck and Eddie.

Just thinking about how Buck is always seen as the emotional one, the one ruled by his heart over his head, while Eddie is the guy who is calm under fire, who stays rational, the guy who doesn't panic unless a woman wants to introduce him to her family.

Just thinking about how when Eddie got shot, Buck took the breath and thought about the safest way to rescue him. How he used the truck as protection, crawling under it to get to him without getting shot himself. How he rallied the other firefighters on-scene to get out of there when they were frozen and panicking. How he pulled up every bit of his EMT training to keep him from bleeding out on the trip to the hospital, didn't let himself fall apart until after.

Just thinking about the lightning episode, how when Buck got struck, Eddie didn't think at first to lower him down, he ran up the ladder in the pouring rain to try to haul this 200+ lb man up with his bare hands on a line. How once Buck was down on the ground, Eddie froze, unsure what to do until Bobby ordered him to drive.

Just thinking about, "We'll do our best," and, "Do more."

Just thinking about how when it comes to the other one in mortal danger, Buck is able to put aside his emotions and do what needs to be done - the only one willing and able in that moment of terror - and Eddie for once is completely consumed by his emotions and unable to find that calm rationality that always saved him before.

so a crisis happened this morning, and my cousin who i’m very close to had a health scare that seemed pretty serious. i abruptly announced that i was going on hiatus from here. i thought for sure i’d be offline for the rest of the week because of the situation. it turned out to be a false alarm! everything appears to be okay, things should be going back to their regularly scheduled programming, unless life throws another curveball at me 🤫

i had to explain pronouns to my boss yesterday, bless her oml. so basically i have to fix our bulletin board (i work in the history department) and we are doing it the way the english department does it. and on theirs, it has the professors name, what they do, office number, and their pronouns. and one of the professors had they/them pronouns on their description, so she was like "explain this to me" and i did, and she was still confused! and, she thought pronouns had to do with you being gay...now mind you this woman is about 50-60

ok so it basically went like this, but abridged

her: explain this to me me: well instead of saying "he blah blah blah" you would said "they blah blah blah" her: but im only talking about one person?? me:yes, but you would use "they" instead of "he" her:how long has this been around? me: i mean for a while, but it's more accepted so people are more comfortable being themselves her: but why "they" me: well because they don't feel like a "he" or a "she" her: ouu this don't make no sense, as if the world isn't confusing enough. we arent adding pronouns to ours me: oh ok
