Updated 100 Memorable Skating Programs
Back in 2018, I created the original version of this list. (You can find the master post here.) Since 2024 marks my 30th year as an official fan of figure skating and there have been some more great programs created since the last time, I thought it was about time to update the list in honor of World Ice Skating Day. Same rules apply as last time:
Only senior competitive programs starting from the 1993-1994 season are eligible, since that's the first season I really started watching figure skating.
Each skater may only be listed once, unless a partner/discipline switch is involved.
Choice of music may also not be repeated. (Yes, there are two James Bond programs on the list, but Yuna and Wakaba use different music for the most part, so I'm letting it slide.)
I debated long and hard about whether or not I should still include programs from skaters who have proven themselves to be not so great people. I'm someone who has little difficulty separating the art from the artist, so in the end, I decided to keep them listed (although most of them got knocked down a few pegs). This list is more about the choreography than the skater anyway, although there are certainly some problematic choreographers out there, too. (Looking at you especially, Morozov!) So, just because a skater is listed doesn't mean that I'm a fan of them or that I condone their actions! I just think certain programs are still great regardless of the skaters' terrible behavior off the ice.
Choreographers are noted if known. If you know who choreographed the programs without a choreographer named, please let me know!
I've also created a handy playlist on YouTube if you don't want to click on all these links.

daniel ricciardo's rollercoaster journey
in honour of danny being sacked, a little something to remind everyone how wonderful of a driver he truly is :(
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when it comes to the high-octane world of formula 1, few names resonate like that of daniel ricciardo. the charismatic australian driver has had his fair share of ups and downs, making him one of the most intriguing figures in the sport. his career has been rife with highlights, challenges, and enigmatic 'what ifs.'
early days and rise to fame
Tumblr media
born on july 1, 1989, in perth, australia, daniel ricciardo grew up surrounded by the roaring sounds of engines, thanks to his father who was a keen motorsport enthusiast. daniel's passion for racing ignited early on, and he began karting at just nine years old. his undeniable talent soon shone through, leading him to move to europe to pursue his formula 1 dreams.
ricciardo's path was far from straightforward. after making his way through various junior formulas, he caught the attention of red bull racing, where he secured a test driver role in 2009. he made his formula 1 debut with hrt in 2011, but it wasn't until he joined toro rosso in 2012 that he really began to make his mark. in 2014, he was promoted to the main red bull team, and that's where the magic really began to happen.
glory years with red bull
Tumblr media

daniel's time with red bull was nothing short of spectacular. in 2014, he scored his first grand prix victory at the canadian gp. his infectious smile, along with his spectacular overtaking skills and ability to perform under pressure quickly made him a fan favourite. over the next few years, ricciardo added more wins to his name, showcasing his knack for thrilling drives and strategic brilliance.
however, alongside the highs came the inevitable lows. as red bull faced increasing competition from mercedes, ricciardo found himself in the shadows of teammate max verstappen, which would lead to a series of internal tensions and external pressures.
red bull exit and a new challenge
Tumblr media

by 2018, the competitive landscape had shifted dramatically, and ricciardo made the bold decision to leave red bull for renault. this move was met with surprise, but many believed it would be a fresh start, offering him the chance to be a team leader and potentially turn the team's fortunes around.
despite showing flashes of brilliance, the renault stint was a mixed bag. ricciardo managed to secure some impressive results, but the team struggled to consistently compete with the top teams. after two seasons, he made another big move, this time to mclaren in 2021. this switch was seen as a critical moment for his career, reigniting hopes of a return to his former glory.
the mclaren experience
Tumblr media

joining mclaren marked a new chapter for ricciardo, but it proved to be more challenging than anticipated. he struggled to find the right balance with the car, which resulted in a frustrating two seasons. despite a promising win at the 2021 italian gp—his first in almost three years—consistency remained elusive. the internal competition with lando norris further complicated matters, leading to a season filled with both highs and lows.
shock return to alphatauri
Tumblr media
in 2023, following his tumultuous time at mclaren, ricciardo returned to formula 1 with alphatauri after a brief hiatus from the grid. this return was filled with intrigue, as fans and pundits alike wondered whether he could finally recapture his previous form. a few of his races with red bull's sister team showcased flashes of the brilliance that had once defined his career. but the shadows of doubt lingered, leading to his eventual firing following the 2024 singapore gp.
what if?
Tumblr media

daniel's career has become a testament to the unpredictability of f1. with moments of sheer brilliance intertwined with extensive episodes of misfortune, fans can't help but wonder how different his legacy might have been had he remained with red bull longer and avoided the setbacks he faced.
personal life
Tumblr media
beyond the track, daniel is known for his vibrant personality. his trademark smile and cheeky sense of humour have endeared him to fans worldwide. off the track, he's an advocate for mental health awareness and often shares insight into his life and career on social media. his engaging nature makes him one of the most loveable figures in the sport, easily bridging the gap between fans and the sometimes insular world of f1.

Mick Schumacher to drive fathers Mercedes F1 car at Goodwood Festival | 2023 F1 season
Mick Schumacher will drive a Mercedes Formula 1 car which was raced by his father at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. The former Haas F1 racer will be making his debut at the festival which takes places over four days on the weekend following the British Grand Prix. Schumacher will drive a Mercedes W02, which was campaigned by the team in 2011. His father and Nico Rosberg took the team to fourth place in the championship in the car, but did not win a race in it, which remains the most recent occasion Mercedes have ended an F1 season without a victory. The W02 never achieved a podium finish either. Schumacher gave the car its best result at that year’s rain-affected Canadian Grand Prix where he finished fourth after being passed by Mark Webber’s Red Bull with fourth laps to go. “It’s going to be spectacular to run in my dad’s 2011 car, the W02, even if it is only a short run,” said Schumacher. “Just experiencing this generation of cars will be mega.” The W02 has a normally aspirated 2.4-litre V8 engine with additional power provided by a Kinetic Energy Recovery System. “Knowing that he raced this car makes it extra special, and there will be many emotions coming with it,” said Schumacher. The 24-year-old has already driven cars from the three other teams his father raced for in F1 – Jordan, Benetton and Ferrari and will complete the quartet with his run in the Mercedes. “I am sure I will get out of it with a big smile on my face,” he said. Mercedes will also run their most recent championship-winning car at Goodwood. Esteban Gutierrez will drive a W12, which the team raced in 2021, when Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas took them to the constructors’ title.
