Something about zoro's reaction being the first one shown after luffy won his battle.. zoro sighing in relief and smiling softly at his captain... zoro glancing at sanji for a moment only to return his gentle gaze to his captain (need to look at his captain fondly just a lil bit longer!)

the scene where they're trying to get pony to talk and darrel is kind of frozen in silence and soda just asks question after question. on the surface it seems like comedic relief, but really it's soda just slowly prying pony open without ponyboy realizing it since he so easily just goes to soda. darrel is probably, like, so grateful for soda but also thinking about how he's failed his kid brother cause he doesn't know what to do when pony's like this except yell at him which only makes him retreat back into himself.

i think about that scene a lot.

AND the fact that TDP does talk about colonialism, just through a centring of non-North American/white based history. like i WONDER what could be going on in the world RIGHT NOW about critiquing a viewpoint (that the villains hold at their worst!!) of "well this was our ancestral homeland and we got Banished from it so taking it 'back' by Any Means Necessary (cue magic system where you treat the people still living there as literal parts) is Okay actually bc we're Oppressed (and can't organ harvest without consent whenever we want)" like.
