General post; Navigating the Tranquil Rhythms: A Journey from Urban Anonymity to Rural Comradeship
Check out this post I've written about Portuguese vs UK life. 1 minute read.
I exchanged a fairly loud UK town next to the M25 for the serene ambience of a Portuguese village, and, well, culture shock hit me like a tonne of bricks. Why, you ask? Because in this quaint setting, chit-chat and familiarity with everyone reigns supreme. It’s an acquired taste, but one that grows on you. Let’s start with the village chatter. Are you ready to study abroad?
What are some pros and cons of studying abroad?
Here are some of the pros and cons of studying abroad:
Pros:
Gain a global perspective: Studying abroad is a great way to gain a global perspective and learn about different cultures. You will be exposed to new ways of thinking and doing things, which can help you to become more open-minded and adaptable.
Improve your language skills: If you study in a country where the native language is not English, you will have the opportunity to improve your language skills. This can be a valuable asset in your future career, as many employers are looking for employees who are bilingual or multilingual.
Make lifelong friends: Studying abroad is a great way to make lifelong friends from all over the world. You will be able to share your experiences and learn from each other, which can create strong bonds that will last a lifetime.
Develop independence: Studying abroad can help you to develop independence and learn how to take care of yourself in a new environment. You will have to be responsible for your own food, housing, and transportation, which can be a challenge but also a rewarding experience.
Gain work experience: In some countries, students are allowed to work part-time while they are studying. This can be a great way to gain work experience and earn some money to help cover your living expenses.
Cons:
Cost: Studying abroad can be expensive, as you will have to pay for tuition, room and board, transportation, and other expenses. However, there are many scholarships and grants available to help students finance their studies abroad.
Culture shock: Moving to a new country can be a culture shock, as you will be exposed to new customs and traditions. This can be challenging at first, but it can also be a valuable learning experience.
Homesickness: It is normal to feel homesick when you are studying abroad. This is especially true if you are far away from your family and friends. However, there are many ways to cope with homesickness, such as staying in touch with loved ones and joining clubs or activities to meet new people.
Language barrier: If you study in a country where the native language is not English, you may experience a language barrier. This can make it difficult to communicate with locals and understand the culture. However, there are many resources available to help you learn the language, such as language classes and online tools.
Academic challenges: Studying abroad can be academically challenging, as you will be exposed to new teaching methods and expectations. However, this can also be a great opportunity to learn and grow as a student.
Overall, the decision of whether or not to study abroad is a personal one. There are many factors to consider, such as your budget, your academic goals, and your personal preferences. However, if you are willing to take on the challenges, studying abroad can be a truly rewarding experience. For more information on studying abroad visit us here! The big differences between the pokemon anime and the yugioh animes' approach to the format is that pokemon goes to great lengths to make portray competitive battling as pleasantly as possibly: handshakes, compliments, every contestant is respectful and polite.
Meanwhile, in yugioh, you get extra points if you manage to make your opponent have a psychological breakdown mid duel.

featuring my corrie OCs Lily and Blaze and corrie!Fives
Fives: So what's this... this thing? Lily: PocKam. Fives: what Blaze: Pocket holocamera. Natborns have this to capture the moment but Lily only uses for taking photos of his face from 100 angles at least five times a day. Lily: My selfies are great, thank you very much. Anyway, you can capture anything you want. Tooka photos, cute shoes behind showcases you will never have enough credit to buy... Lily: Or, yes, you take selfies in the Outlander on your day-off, accidently capturing an exchange between a crack dealer and their client and of course Commander Fox had to spot it! Not a single compliment like, "Wow, Lily what a great make-up you have there!" Nooo, Commander Fox bothers himself comment under my picture and talk about the exchange between the crack dealer and their client! The audacity! My night was ruined! Fives: Oh my fucking god Blaze: Why were you in the Outlander anyway? Lily: Ganja.

made a sfw playlist that was specifically requested by my lead tech bc she was complaining about how none of my playlists i send her can actually be played in the store and i compiled it and shes, like, screening it otw home and keeps skipping songs for being too "foreign". i do not know how to tell you this but a huge amount of our clientbase either speaks arabic or spanish, which are what most of the non-english songs on there are. YOU are the weird one here
