every clip i see from heartstopper is like. so unbearably 2015 You Are Valid coded like i can’t believe they even put most of that dialogue in a tv show no one talks like that irl. it’s also sooo like. the creator was obviously trying to check off the boxes so she had every identity within lgbt represented exactly once like there’s even the token aro ace (who is also a cis guy which esp in high school i feel like has to be a very unusual identity?) and they also made a big deal about how all the lgbt characters were played by Actual Lgbt People which resulted in an 18yo kid having to out himself to prove he was Allowed to be an actor on the show. what’s the appeal here to any of this.
