Mine

Based off of @flashfictionfridayofficial's prompt, an old idea that I'm thinking of reworking in the future.

Around his neck, there was a chain. Dangling, right in the center of his chest, was what first appeared to be just a simple piece of opal. But, no.

Butterfly leaned closer, staring at it. Realization made her squeak, even as something pinged, deep inside of her. It wasn't just some piece of opal.

It appeared to be half of a butterfly-shaped stone, a jagged edge disrupting the rainbow gleam of the stone's smooth surface. It matched the Brooch in her hair, thrumming with the power of creation. Vanessa and Papillion both knew, in that instant, what Megabat was wearing.

"...that's mine..."

"What?" Megabat and Black Cat spoke at the same time, but the latter was reaching out. "My Queen? Are you okay?" She hadn't realized that she had stumbled back. Butterfly batted his hands away for once, too focused on whatever was burning deep inside her chest.

Inside her heart.

"I said,"

She spoke with Vanessa's and Papillion's voices, the two echoing and merging.

"That's mine."

East Blue Bug Crew with the addition of the chopperpilla🐞👒🐛

Originally the idea was something my friend and one of my moots came up with while we were drawing on magma!! We were assigning bugs to different straw hats and these were the ones we came up with. I drew all of them aside from brook and jimbei on magma but I’ll just say what they all are:

Luffy is a hercules beetle, Zoro is a praying mantis, Nami is a monarch butterfly, Usopp is a weevil, Sanji is a hornet, Chopper is a caterpillar (specifically a moth), Robin is a Hawk Wasp, Franky is a Thorn Bug, Brook is a stick bug, and i think Jimbei is a water bug!

Also here are the magma doodles! first one is low quality :( also i learned i cannot draw thorn bugs oops

And here they are, ALL of Marinette’s updated kwami swaps from my Timey Wimey AU including her new Multimouse design! Now that she’s FINALLY done and I’m completely satisfied with her designs we can get a move on with the other character designs! YAY!

Part 1 of the unifications.

Hey remember when I said I was planning to change some of the names when they were truly egregious? This is what I meant.

So we have (from left to right) Dragonfly, Viper Noir, Shadow Moth (they still call him Hawkmoth), and Ladybee.

Dragon-bug was a stupid name, I know they were saving Lady Dragon for Shanghai but that doesn't mean we give up all together guys. Dragonfly just makes more sense.

I know I'm not the first to say that the Ladybug Dragon unification was great. It's actually one of my favorites. It showed off how good the Ladybug, and by extension Marinette, could look if the artist put a tad more effort into her suit. I definitely deviated pretty far here, push the dragon elements, like giving her two horns. The big ones on the side of her head and the little ones that attach to her antennae. The boots, and tail elements which were super fun to draw. And finally drawing Mari with her hair down because it looked cool.

Viper Noir just to add a bit more spice to Snake Noir's name. I almost called him Black Mamba but wasn't entirely sold. So that's that. I didn't give Aspik or Viperion a hood because I was saving it for this, much more Chat's style than Aspik was. The cat ears on the hood were a pain to make look right but turned out cute. And now they both have gold accent's! look how matchy they are.

I am forever on the fence about if I like Shadow Moth's design but I can't really begrudge the name? It's alright- it certainly feels very Gabriel, a man who has a track record of bad naming skills. I figure most still call him Hawkmoth though. I actually designed both Shadow Moth and Hawkmoth at the same time, so the plan was to always add Peacok feathers to the head and the double tailcoat. I almost based him on an actual peacock butterfly but changed my mind.

Just know that the additional feathers are just as painful as the butterfly wings. And now there is more! Hooray! Hawkmoth suffers!

And Lady Bee, this one felt easier than I expected because I already had Honey Bee. I might go back and fix her eyes though, they’re a bit uncanny rn.

So remembered an animatic that said every Ladybug holder was destined to abandon their Black Cat and they'd never see each other again. So I quickly threw together a set of curses for all the Chinese Box.

Ladybug - They are destined to always die alone with their goals unaccomplished

Black Cat - They are fated to always be abandoned by the person they hold closest

Fox - They are fated to always destroy the person they love most

Turtle - When it counts most they won’t be able to protect those they hold most dear

Bee - They are fated to drive others away at their most vulnerable

Butterfly - They are fated to have their good intentions twisted sour

Peacock - They are fated to put their faith and love into the wrong person and destroy themselves

Snake - At the end of things, they will always end up alone

Dragon - They are fated to never have the strength they most need

Bunny - They are destined to see the worst fates of their friends repeat over and over again with no chance to save them

Tiger - They are destined to always squeeze too tight and break those they love

Pig - Their kindness and desire to help will be their downfall

Mouse - They are fated to feel the weight of every task and eventually be crushed by it

Ox - They are cursed to be destroyed by their own growing doubt

Horse - They are fated to always be a moment too slow and be ruined by it

Monkey - Their happiness will come at the cost of the misery of others

Goat - They will be consumed by their passion and desires

Dog - They will devote their lives to a goal and only in their last moments realize they were wrong

Rooster - The people they hold closest will be unreachable

My rough idea is that the Miraculous of the Chinese Miracle Box are so powerful that their magic naturally backlashes onto the user in the form of a curse. So if someone wears a Miraculous for too long, they will be doomed to the curse even if they take it off.

I’ll also be posting the other half of this which the Chinese zodiac part of the Miracle Box, yep that’s right my girl is pulling a Kwamibuster on the corrupted hero’s but with a twist. Anywho, updated their designs and was just trying to edit the post but accidentally deleted it so whoops.

So cleaned up their designs and thought might as well post more.
