Cryptid of the Day: Winged Cats

Description: In 1975, the Manchester Evening News published a photo of a cat with a pair of hairy wings. This was just one of several winged cats reported on Britain. The explanation for this, however, was more simple. These cats suffer from feline cutaneous, which causes the skin on cats to become elastic, thus wing like.

some more public domain character designs. first with a randomly generated color palette and then with just black white and green.

Link to download the also public domain lineart and the HD versions of these is here. The lineart is based on a winged cat from a medieval manuscript. I got progressively lazier with it after drawing the head, which is why the front legs are so scribbly.

This blog will be an account of the four winged Clans; OwlClan, GullClan, EagleClan, FalconClan.

OwlClan: Settled their camp in a hidden grotto in the forest at the base of EagleClan’s mountain. They are known for their ability to use the trees surrounding them to their advantage. Where as GullClan’s and FalconClan’s wings are suited for taking flight from the ground or for diving OwlClan takes after EagleClan in the fact that their wings are made more gliding from tree to tree.

GullClan: Settled in a tidal cave whose entrance briefly gets hidden during high tide, the special oil that coats the wings of GullClan cats allows them to dive through the entrance at any time. Unlike either OwlClan or EagleClan where they can glide for long periods of time or are more prone to glide from tree to tree, GullClan cats wings have a special oil that helps their wings stay dry when they dive into the ocean, the way their wings have grown cause them to act like oars when swimming.

EagleClan: Settled in the crystal caves deep in the mountain that they’ve layer claim to. They are known for their swooping attack style and getting the drop on unsuspecting opponents from the sky. Much like OwlClan’s wings have grown better for gliding from tree to tree, though they are most definitely more suited for using the air currents to stay in the air for long periods of time, their wings have thicker feathers to combat the cold weather high in the mountain top.

FalconClan: Settled in a section of wastelands, of the four clans their camp is seemingly the most in the open but due to their unique location; formerly a twoleg dumping ground, they are left alone. They’re wing’s are bulkier, built to be able to carry them from the ground, though their wings are bulkier their bones are more fragile to combat the hold gravity usually has.

OOC: since I’ll be running all of the clans I will be playing a head of updates and getting the clans to a certain moon before I start updating the others ie. I will get OwlClan to moon 5 or 10 before moving onto the next and so on until all are at the same moon then I’ll start working on updates for this blog. For now I will not be adding art though I may add the official sprites.

These gif sets are so fun to make, really pleased with how this project turned out; it's sort of a sequel/same universe and concept to my TBC one. It's fun to compare them, I think I've improved a lot in terms of editing/tweeting since I made it.

hey guess what. Both of these are public domain. The first one because it was literally made in medieval times and the second one because I made it and I said so. Use both for literally anything you want, you just can't tell other people they can't use them lol.
