#Butler Jean

I just finished the prologue for a story in which Chloé is basically (not literally) adopted by her butler Jean, who ends up being more of a parent than Andre or Audrey. Taking after him she decides to become a butler herself.

The prologue shows us a Chloé in her 60`s, after decades of working as a butler. She has just started work for a new family, with an 8 year old girl and a strict, mostly absentee father. The girl is rude and doesn't like her very much, but Chloé is reminded of her younger self and attempts to befriend her.

The main story after the prologue would be Chloé telling the young girl about her own childhood and what made her become a butler in the end. With probably only the epilogue playing again in the 'now'.

Here is the thing: I had fun writing this and liked how it turned out, but I have literally no idea what to do with it. I don't really have many ideas for the actual story and don't know if it even is an idea with much potential to begin with.

So I guess this are just 3000 words that will sit in my Google docs files for quite some time :P

Chloe goes back in time AU sorry if mentioned before but how are André and chloe buttler (i think his name is armand) taking all the changes with, i get a good idea with André, through some extra insights are appreciated. But for armand I am curious in how is he taking chloe suden chance.

Andre we saw in that one snip. When spoiling her failed he swung to belligerent harshness. That's going to be his MO, along with just trying to avoid her to avoid confrontation.

Jean(I won't call him Armand, that ruins the joke) is worried. He doesn't know quite what to do, but all his usual tricks aren't working either. He can retreat into professionalism though, and Chloe isn't interested in lording anything over him, she just wants him to leave her alone.

Here's the design (well more like a redesign) for Andre Bourgeois in the Orchids and Memories au.

I tried to do a pose for him, but I couldn't get it to work. Whether it was because the pose ended up too big for the canvas or I couldn't find a pose that reflected his personality. So here's just a portrait.

After Miracle Queen, he realised how badly he'd messed up raising Chloe and tried to make it up to Chloe. But because of Mortis and Peur it didn't last long before Chloe ran away to protect him and not destroy Paris.

He became increasingly depressed after Chloe left and blamed himself for her leaving, as Chloe left no note or evidence as to why she left. So everyone made their own theories. This became even worse after Chloe was legally declared dead and Audrey gaslighted him into thinking it was completely his fault. Although he was a main reason for Chloe's disappearance, it wasn't in the way he thinks it was.

He did become a much better mayor after this, out of wanting to do better. But the main reason was in his mentally unhealthy state he tried to throw himself into his work to cope. This stress combined with his unhealthy coping habits and Audrey taking out her aggression on him, culminated in him having a heart attack, which only Jean, Roger, Gabriel, Natalie and Audrey are aware of. He's still mayor for most of the fic; I assume he started doing better as mayor and people were like we'll just get a new mayor once Hawkmoth's gone. So he's been mayor still for the last 8 years and none of the public are not privy to his major health issues.

After Orchidae arrives in Paris, he becomes extremely concerned as every time he sees her she's either horribly injured or gets horribly injured. Also Chloe's habits are just unhealthy as his. So he becomes her adoptive father without realising it's actually his actual daughter. Besides Pollen he's constantly trying to stop her from putting herself in danger.

Design wise, I completely redesigned him just keeping key elements. I kept his grey hair as it makes a lot of sense due to the stress he experiences. I gave him a different hairstyle, gave him actual hair because I hate his canon hairstyle and I'm not learning how to draw it. Tired eyes because he gave up on sleep a long time ago. And I did make him thinner because he truly did just give up after Chloe left and couldn't bring himself to do anything. And got rid of the sash, because he's not going to wear it all the time. Though I do want to give him a big black coat that consumes him, probably in a metophorical way of he's desperate to hide his emotions and keep away from others.

Butler Jean's name might actually be Jean-Quentin? or is Zoe in 4x09 using the same name for him that Audrey used in 4x07 in order to evoke the same effect as Audrey?

I love modern AU's with your fav because

deciding what kind of job they would have

more character quirk headcanons because of the slower-paced, lower-stressed timeline (if they came from, like, war)

seeing how they interact with social media, or technology in general

envisioning how their house/little apartment would look like

being able to put your fav in situations you've been through or when you wished they were with you (isekai them to you babes you don't gotta die in their world)

but mostly

they deserve to wear sweatpants goddammit

Here's Jean-Claude!

I actually like his design quite a lot. There's not much wrong with it at all. So I kept him pretty much the same, but just added some grey streaks in his hair as he's older.

Yeah I know in canon his actual name is Armand. But I threw canon out the window a long time ago, so he's called Jean-Claude.

He's the first person to figure out Chloe's still alive, her vigilante persona and the fact Sabrina knows everything. He's knew pretty much from her first appearance in Paris it was her. After telling her about the fact he knows, he's the main person in Paris helping her to stay out of conflict with Ladybug. This is because it would be suspicious for Sabrina to be hanging around Chloe so openly in Paris.

He also is one of the main people trying to constantly distract Andre from finding out Orchidae is in fact Chloe. Roger also joins in on hiding this after he figures it out.
