i think the general idea is that they were a couple and broke up when aradia died, but i prefer the idea of them just being friends before.

they had a crush on eachother but nothing came of if because of their awkwardness, it just made them weirdly close sometimes (n thats why vriska teases aradia calling him her boyfriend or why nepeta has them like ❤️? ♦️? in her wall)

they catch feelings again when they reunite and thats when its actually something, idk who (or how) confesses first though, probably sollux
