#But it’s also so Jason. And it’s like in a way Apollo is Jason’s legacy because through their meeting Apollo really understands the meaning

Thinking about Jason canonically defining his entire outlook on the world on the basis that people break their promises because his mother abandoned him. Ironically, of course, he’s also the child of Jupiter despite the big three’s oath. He also hated rules but followed them anyways because someone has to keep their promises, right? There is nothing more sacred to Jason than promises. Combined with how he died, the “remember” hurts a whole lot more now..

New Athens, a Percy Jackson HeadCanon:
Percy discussed with Annabeth how he wished New Rome was closer to Manhattan, or that Camp Halfblood had its own similar city so that he could be closer to his family and hometown. this sparked an idea for Annabeth.
after finishing her olympus project, she began to work on her pitch for New Athens, a safehaven for Greek and Roman demigods to grow old and live their lives in right next to Camp Halfblood. Though it was Percy who sparked the idea, the idea became so much larger and more significant than an offhand wish.
with the help of chiron and dionysus, annabeth gets her pitch approved, and work begins.
demigods of all godly parenthood have their chances to shine in the process;
Athena kids are mainly city planners, civil engineers, and architects.
Hephaestus kids are mechanics, constructors, and advisers for the civil engineers.
Demeter kids are mainly agricultural engineers, and alongside Persephone kids, also environmental engineers.
Hermes and Iris kids are transportation engineers, and Hermes kids also focus on hospitality of Roman demigods and hunters.
Apollo kids are healthcare executives and administrators, and together with Dionysus kids, they focus on entertainment.
Aphrodite kids focus on the sociological aspects of urban planning.
Ares kids focus on safety and protection.
There are much more jobs as well, some predominantly run by other demigods (Hypnos, Hecate, etc), and some run by a mixture.
While the jobs are predominantly separated by lineage, any demigod is allowed to work any job they desire.
Frank and Hazel also send in Roman volunteers to provide assistance in the development process. In their words, "You need as many hands as possible to build a city from scratch".
Leo worked considerably on this as this was his chance to be in a place where he felt he belonged. It also felt like a way to honour Jason's legacy as Jason lived in New Rome but chose Camp Halfblood. Leo wholeheartedly believes that had Jason been alive, he would want nothing more than for Camp Halfblood to be a liveable and lively place.
Leo builds a monument in Jason's memory. It is engraved with the words "Lover, Brother, Friend, Praetor, Hero. Symbol of Roman and Greek Unity. Lightning Boy." When it was first revealed, he and Piper sat there all day, holding each other.
while piper offers all the help she can, she never once seriously considers living in New Athens. while her demigod lineage is something so integral to who she is, she would rather live in the outside world. Leo and Annabeth understand.
clarisse works on a monument for all heroes lost in the battle of manhattan. even though it was her idea, it still hurts to see Silena's name engraved on the marble.
dionysus pretends to hate it, despite having played a huge role in convincing the gods (especially Zeus) that this was a great idea. he never takes credit for that. annabeth only ever finds out through chiron, months after they started work.
the project takes years to complete, but it makes annabeth's world. she considers it one of her greatest achievements, if not the greatest; she has helped her people and the future generations to come. this work cannot be forgotten. her love for demigods is written all over the city, and so many generations will see it.
percy opens a small candy shop the first moment he can. it mostly sells blue candy.
leo finally opens a garage, becoming the best mechanic of New Athens.
annabeth continues working on architecture, helping build any new buildings and working on any expansions.
grover and juniper build a family together there, their home near the woods. percy, annabeth, and grover stay close the entire time.
piper visits often. she and leo always visit Jason's monument when she does, and they leave flowers every time.
will and nico own an apartment. will's still a doctor. nico becomes a teacher. it's a surreal feeling to be able to help kids feel safe and happy, something he did not often get at their age. they've adopted two cats together.
when hazel and frank have the opportunity, they visit as well. they visit nico and will whenever they can, and percy and annabeth and leo and piper as much as possible too. despite being tied down to new rome, they still love New Athens.
reyna and thalia only visit with the hunters, but both go to jason's monument together. they don't have to talk to understand each other.
chiron is happy. in his thousands of years of working at camp, he had never had the ability to see his pupils live long lives. even if they'd lived to their 80s+, they never did so at camp. it's a new experience for him, and to all greek halfbloods who could now feel safe as they grew older in a place that accepted them with open arms.

Jason and Reyna and fatal flaws
(based on a conversation I had with @queenjunothegreat ages ago)
I know Jason’s fatal flaw is generally considered to be indecision. However. Consider conceptually that Jason’s fatal flaw is his sense of duty. That way we’ve got an additional fatal flaw which isn’t a bad trait inherently but becomes a problem when it’s left unchecked and makes you lose sight of other aspects of the situation.
Jason’s sense of duty is what feeds into his indecision. When he’s speaking to Notus, the problem isn’t that he doesn’t fundamentally know what he wants. It’s stated that he’s happiest when he’s with Piper and Leo. He just thinks he’s not allowed to make the choice because it would mean neglecting his duty.
Jason’s sense of duty is also what ultimately gets him killed. The prophecy he got in ToA stated that him or Piper would die if they joined Apollo on his quest, but not once did Jason consider just… walking away. If he had, it would have saved him. But it’s quintessential to his character that he wasn’t able to. That, no matter what, his duty as a demigod hero will always outweigh his personhood.
Now consider what it would mean if Reyna’s fatal flaw was the same.
I’ve talked about this before, but duty as a character motive makes a lot of sense for Reyna. She’s raised to believe the fate of New Rome lies on her shoulders—to her dad, the fact that New Rome rises and falls with their bloodline (and therefore specifically with Hylla and Reyna) has always mattered more than their personhood.
A lot of Reyna’s actions in the books explicitly link back to her sense of duty—the way she runs herself ragged trying to do a job that’s meant for two people while Jason is missing, the way she chides Lavinia in ToA for leaving her post, etc. A lot of her conflict stems from the fact that what is necessary to protect her home (leaving her post and following Jason) inherently clashes with the rules of that home.
This can be applied even down to powers, which inherently wear her out to strengthen other people.
Of course Jason and Reyna click immediately. It’s inevitable. They’ve got similar mindsets and similar work ethics and both of them see the way they’ve been raised to consider the bigger picture but never themselves reflected back at them when they look at each other.
They understand each other like no one in their lives has ever understood them. They’re drawn to each other like magnets. They love each other in a way they’ve never loved anyone before.
But that love is also fundamentally linked to the most self-destructive part the other person has to offer—the part that has to be productive and heroic at all costs because otherwise they don’t deserve love (Jason) or doom their shared home to a horrible fate (Reyna).
They only ever let the other person see that masked version of them, so now even with the person they’re closest to they can never unmask because they don’t know and might not like that version of them! They actively bond over their sense of duty so now to stay loved and happy in that friendship they’re required to lean into that even harder. They’re heading into a completely disastrous burnout situation together with no signs of stopping.
But then Jason disappears. And when he reappears, their shared fatal flaw—which was a huge part of what brought them together in the first place—is what ends up driving them apart.
It’s not that he’s lost his sense of duty or anything. His fatal flaw is still the same. But the focus of that duty has shifted to encompass more than the home he shared with Reyna. His duty is to both camps now. His duty is to Piper and Leo and the prophecy of the seven.
Reyna’s duty is still to Camp Jupiter. To Bellona’s prophecy that’s bound her to New Rome’s legacy for as long as she’s lived, and will bind her to it forever.
When her home is under attack, Reyna’s duty is obviously to New Rome and her people first and foremost. And the Jason she knew would have agreed. He’d have jumped to New Rome’s protection in a heartbeat.
This Jason doesn’t. This Jason chooses Leo and Piper and the Argo over everything else.
And it unmoors Reyna utterly, in a way even his disappearance didn’t. Reyna knows Jason. She knows how he’ll act in almost all situations, because she’s seen him make tough calls before. She knows their priorities will always align. Except, suddenly, they don’t.
They’ve always been on the same page, and suddenly it seems like they’re not even in the same book anymore, and she has absolutely no idea how to handle that.

I'm thinking about the different angsty mess that comes from the bats as demigods.
Dick who becomes a hero and does have powers, but most people don't assume so at first and he feels like a fraud because he does have powers but people don't know that and could he actually do the things he does without the boast from being a demigod. [Imposter syndrome]. There's also the angsty idea that he tried to hide the demigod stuff at first because well Bruce wasn't the most communicative. Could also have a bit of angst in the idea that Hermes kids aren't the most rare demigod. Him also has issues in feeling like any one of his demigod siblings could replace him.
Babs being clearsighted and without blessing yet. She who will constantly have to work harder than all of them. Who doesn't have any sort of leg up in the Devine world. She who didn't have to keep fighting even after knowing she could see. She wasn't part of their world but chose to be. The way that she is punished for it. She is the only one of them permanently injured. Bond to a wheelchair. She who continues to fight in her own ways, battling her issues and everyone else. She who becomes blessed by Apollo later on. Earns the respect of the mythological world, but will always be the one who could have walked away.
Cass as a legacy of Hades who feels when people die. Knowing exactly the moment she killed someone. When by her hand she sent someone to the underworld. She can sense death. That and a very slight affinity towards the shadows is the extent of those powers. It makes her death wish and temporary death all the more interesting because it can play into both the Hades and the Nemesis thing. Nemesis is the goddess associated with balance, retribution, and revenge. Cass, who feels the deep seeded, needs to balance out the death she caused by experiencing death. She thinks about being mediocre for a lifetime or perfect for a year.' Knowing the trade she is making for that. That in trade of being Mediocre, she will live, but in being perfect, she will die. She dies. Even if just briefly. It also connects her and her mother Shiva closer together. Shiva being of Hades legacy can also feel death and wants to be killed only by the best. She seeks out death but will only die to one she considers worthy. Cass, being a daughter of Nemesis, wouldn't do this anyway, even if it was against her morals because Shiva has an excess of hubris. Cass is the perfect person to kill her, her own daughter, but in retribution, she will not be the one to kill her.
Jason also being a son of Nemesis and the angst that brings. He who sees it as balance to kill the one who killed him. Who sees it as the ultimate revenge to go against Bruce in the way he does, knowing that it will hurt, but him also failing in the end because he demands to much, is asking for something in which he cannot have and ergo by his own nature, by his own Devine mother he will not have it. [Ethan Nakamura traded an eye for a weapon that could change the balance of the war, It's not to far out there to assume Jason in a fit of desperation in a deep seeded need to seek revenge to find some sort of balance would trade something for a leg up.] Him being the legacy of a god who heals. Something he didn't know about. The connection he now shares with the mother he ran after to in Ethiopia. That woman was a disgraced doctor, and now he finds out he is the legacy of a healer. He who instinctively heals Bruce. Doesn't realize he is doing it. That also plays into the balance. For as much as he hurts Bruce, he is also healing him.
Tim being the first Roman. That makes him an outsider in the beginning. He who has to work a bit harder in the beginning for this. Who in the beginning doesn't know how to apply hid skills, let alone what skills he does have. He who loves deeply and cares deeply. Who brings people together even through grief. He who created the Batfamily. He who becomes a cornerstone to the hero world, having a piece of himself in every corner. Child of Venus who brings honor back to her name. Child who didn't have to fight, who didn't have to pick up a weapon. Who's ability could have been used equally as well elsewhere but picked one up anyway and said I will be what is needed. He with his words and actions that can change the world. Venus will never be the first one people think for. They will think Athena, because of his brain, not remembering that his mom was a goddess of war, who has started wars. They will think Ares for his mastery over weapons for the viciousness he can show in the field. Not knowing that his mother may be a goddess of love, but love can be just as cruel as it is kind. The will say Hephestus for the tools he wields, not knowing that words and actions are just as mighty as any blade can be. One called him a child of Victoria. Not recognizing that his mother too is a goddess of victory.
Stephanie, the second Roman. The daughter of Cardea. Of hinges. A goddess so minor that monsters even ignore her. Is she even a real demigod? She asks herself at night alone as she is forgotten again. She trains so hard, but she's not Cass who senses death or fights for something much larger than they are. She's not Tim, whose mother is the mother of Rome. She is not Dick who has survived as an Olympian child for decades now. She's not Babs, who was so outstanding of a mortal that she received blessing. She can't even be a proper Roman. She who wards off evil though, whose Powers work amazingly for vigilante work. She can break open doors with the slight manipulation of the hinge, who can open filing cabinets because not everything can be found online. She who instinctively has skills others have to practice and learn. She who will always feel like an outsider.
Damian, who has a lot of legacy to live up to. He's not a halfblood, and he's less of a demigod than everyone else. He values his blood connection to his father so much because it's one of the few things he has over everyone else. He who is the only one who has a connection to the magicians and other West Asian religions and what that entails. He knows of the Greeks and Romans..he knows of the Irish and the Norse. He stands outside and inside it all. He brings more or less thrown into a whole new world when he ends up in Gotham. It tests only his skills but his ability to adapt because things are different here. More dangerous and less dangerous.
--
Dick resenting Jason a bit because he thinks Bruce taking in a child of Nemesis was him taking in someone better suited for the sort of job Vruce wants to do. Jason feeling inadequate because Dick was the child of an Olympian whose father had domains that helped physically with fighting..
Jason is angry at Bruce because the kid that took his spot is the child of an Olympian. He went and found a Roman kid. The Roman's were more disappointed, they were better at following orders, they would make better soldiers. Tim who is angered slightly because Jason took a part of Bruce with him when he died, and no matter what he can do, nothing will bring in back. Jason got the ultimate revenge in that.
Jason and Cass will never see eye to eye. They are hslfdiblings. Jason has a halfsibling, Cass has a halfsibling, but they won't ever get along. Not in the way that matters. They represent the best and worst of the other. Cass won't kill again, Jason will kill. Jason doesn't intentionally heal, Cass yearns to. They see balance as something different. One was dead without wanting to be. One yearned for death but ended up living.
Stephanie and Tim find companionship in being the only Romans among the Greeks. They, however, represent something the other could never be. Stephanie sees Tim as a model Roman. Even when angry at his father, at Bruce, at the position he's in, he still refers to that person in the father role. He still plays into the roles of society. Tim sees Steph rebel against that. He sees her best up her father, rebel against Bruce, against authority. She resents him, and he fears what could happen to her. He is the son of the mother, and she is someone minor. She has a freedom he never will have. He has a position she will never have.
Just all of them trying to measure up to the others around them always find something missing.
[Also, random fun fact Duke already has an immortal father in canon. It's true. Look it up.]
Annon AK
OOH MY GOD. YOU GET IT.
i genuinely dont think i can add to this. you have absolutely nailed everything about each of their dynamics. i dont think this will leave my head anytime soon

PJO x DC/Batfamily AU idea
Bruce- Son of Zeus, legacy of Phobos, blessed by Nyx
Dick- Son of Poseidon, legacy of Apollo, blessed by Hermes
Jason- Favored Son of Ares, legacy of Apollo
Tim- Son of Athena
Damian- Legacy of Zeus
Barbara- Blessed by Athena
Duke- Son of Apollo
Stephanie- No idea who her godly parent would be, but it'd definitely be a Roman God
Details:
-Dick, by 2024, is 28 while Percy is 31. TLT took place in 2005, sooo Percy is Dicks older brother!
-Because Gotham actually wards off monsters due to how dangerous it is (you'd think it was the other way around but nope) and the sheer amount of curses, monsters aren't actually all that common in Gotham. It's both safe and unsafe for demigods, given they don't have to worry about monsters, but do have to worry about... literally everything else.
-The entire batfamily wasn't aware of their heritage for the very large majority of their lives. This is because of a mix of reasons- Gotham wards off monsters, they were being taught how to fight anyways, and the family being a bunch of Demigods that live in Gotham of all places mean anything weird is just considered entirely normal. Also, Bruce kept scooping up the kids before Satyrs could get to them. (If this still doesn't make sense, then just deal with it lol I prefer the drama of them all finding out VERY late)
-Hades highkey hates Ra's.
-Lazarus Pits actually come up from the Underworld.
-Duke was the only one who knew of his godly heritage prior to joining the batfamily. He's one of the very few Apollo kids who can manipulate light. He just lies and says he's a meta.
-Diana has had her suspicions for YEARS prior to the Demigod stuff being confirmed.
-The batfamily are actually known as demigods to the Demigod community, and they're all legends, especially Batman and Nightwing. The Wayne family, meanwhile, is known as a Demigod safe place because Bruce keeps scooping up Demigod children. Demigods make bets that Bruce will be the reason another Demigod camp is made lmao.
-When the batfamily find out about their heritage, and Dick finds out Percy is his older brother, he basically bluescreens. Dick has always been the older brother, so to find out he's now someone's younger brother?? It's an experience for him, lmao. Him and Percy are excited to find out about each other. Dick is very determined to be an annoying little bastard.
-Jason highkey hates Ares, and always finds ways to annoy his father. Unfortunately, this has the exact opposite effect- Ares likes that Jason is sticking it to the man. This makes Jason REALLY mad.
-Jason is kind of a mini Ares in a lot of ways, but his Apollo heritage shines through a lot as well. It shows in his love of literature, guns, and mother henning. Appearance wise though? Yeah he's a mini Ares.
-The irony that Dick is a 'flying' Grayson and associated with birds while being a son of Poseidon is not lost on him. Shockingly, Zeus likes him. Percy is jealous.
-Dick isn't allowed to give any teams advice during CTF. Every time he does, that team wins. You'd think he was a son of Athena going off of how smart he is, but nope.
-Percy is really really protective of Dick. The second he hears anything about Spyral, or how Dick has been mistreated by Bruce, Dick has to actively hold Percy back from killing Bruce.
-Dick has a lot of feelings about the whole Demigod thing, especially about being related to Percy. He's compared to Percy a lot, and it really grates on his nerves, but he loves Percy. It's just irritating being compared to people after trying so hard to be your own independent person.
-Duke actually helps tour the batfamily through CHB when they visit. He's been there plenty of times of course :)
-The Ares cabin lowkey hates Jason for being the favorite. Jason also hates being the favorite. He does not want to be the favorite (something he'd never thought he'd think).
-Tim is easily the smartest in the Athena cabin. Him being a son of Athena explains his genius, though he would've been one regardless.
-Barbara is only allowed into CHB because of her blessing. She's suddenly very aware that she chose the name Oracle. Rachel thinks it's hilarious though, and they get along really well.
-Jason and Tim both already knew a ton about Greek mythology prior to finding out about their heritage.
-Dick and Jason are shocked to find out their related via Apollo. Dicks mother was a daughter of Apollo, and one of Jason's grandparents on his mom's side was a child of Apollo. Dick is ecstatic over this information, Jason has no idea what to think. Dick is also happy to find that he's related to Duke.
-Nyx is lady Gotham. She took a liking to Bruce when he became Batman, and gave him her blessing. She also likes the entire batfamily, and they all have more minor blessings from her. Only Batman's true heir will get her blessing. Dick would have gotten it had Bruce actually died. The one who will eventually get it is Cassandra.

Positive Percabeth imagines :))) (though ngl this is mostly about their daughters but still)
I imagine that Percy and Annabeth will have twin daughters, and they’ll choose names based off their loved ones. One daughter is named Zoe Elizabeth, after Zoe the Hunter, and Rachel Elizabeth Dare. The second daughter is named Natalie Grace, after Annabeth’s aunt Natalie (and also bc as einherjars Magnus and Alex will never be able to have kids so it’s also for Magnus’ sake) and Grace bc it’s the last name of both Thalia and Jason obviously but it’s a way to honor Jason especially. Natalie Grace is nicknamed Tali, pronounced Tah-lee, and I’ve always pronounced Thalia as Tah-lee-uh, so that way they’re honoring her too. Zoe has dark brown hair and grey-blue eyes, and Tali has dirty blonde hair and blue-green eyes.
Percy and Annabeth lived in New Rome for several years after finishing college, and they both helped create sacred temples and statues and groves and places for all the gods, as Percy started, Jason expanded, and Apollo basically vowed to complete. Annabeth of course did most of the brainstorming and research and building stuff, but Percy was actually the one who would ask various gods and be like “okay Nereus. These are some ideas we have to honor you. Can you tell me which you like best?” And then that god would send him a dream giving varying amounts of detail and instruction as to what exactly they wanted. So the twins, Zoe and Tali, were raised in New Rome for their first several years.
Meanwhile at Camp Half-Blood, they have expanded to have cabins for legacies, and they also started an academy, called Olympus Heights Academy. As more demigods were claimed and now legacies too, it made sense to start a school. When Tali and Zoe are eight, their parents decide to move back to Camp Half-Blood and become teachers. Annabeth predictably tries to teach too many classes at first but eventually settles on just teaching a couple classes, probably Ancient Greek history and language bc we know she taught Percy and also close combat with a knife. Percy teaches swords fighting obviously.
Tali and Zoe are at this point beginning to learn their abilities. Both of them can breathe underwater. Zoe can control water, ocean water most easily but with some degree of control over fresh water. She is an expert in close combat fighting. She is skilled in strategy and has an affinity for the arts. She is a natural sailor. Natalie can communicate with horses and their cousins. She has siren powers, similar to charmspeak, but water based and music/voice linked. She is an expert at swords fighting. She is skilled in craftsmanship and strategy and has an affinity for academics. She is a natural sailor.
You noticed the siren powers? I headcanon that Sally is a third generation legacy of Venus, and Percy didn’t really get anything from Venus except good looks, extra ability to learn Latin, and extra meddling in his love life, but Tali did. I saw someone make a post about, what if daughters of Poseidon could sometimes get siren like abilities? I loved that idea, and had to include that in one of the twins. Normally a second generation legacy of Poseidon wouldn’t ever have siren abilities, but bc of the distant relation to Venus, Tali did get that ability.
The twins will of course go on their own death defying quests and adventures. Percy and Annabeth will happily be living in Camp Half-Blood, visiting Sally and the rest of the Jackson-Blofis family as much as they can.
Oh I also have another funny idea. I actually woke up one morning earlier this week daydreaming about it. Percy and Annabeth, after college, are trying to plan their wedding. But they keep getting into fights about small random things. And this is so out of character for them. Eventually Annabeth realizes that this is Hera meddling and at first she’s furious but eventually tries to reason with Hera. Hera eventually gives specific instructions on something that she wants to be created at Camp Half-Blood to honor her. I’m not entirely sure what it is yet, but whatever it is, it’s gonna be nearly impossible to create. But Annabeth has to do it if she wants to get married to Percy. So she struggles for months with this building project, finally it’s nearly done. Then Hera says that she will allow them to marry, but they have to be married nearby whatever it is that Annabeth had to create, and their marriage will be dedicated to Hera and will act as the way to consecrate the sacred building thing to Hera. So now Chiron has to allow demigods to get married at Camp Half-Blood, allow the queen of the gods to officiate it, and he can’t keep their mortal family from the wedding! So now there are mortals in Camp Half-Blood. But it all goes well, but now a tradition has begun of campers wanting to get married by Hera’s sacred thing, and now Chiron has to deal with weddings and mortal families and he’s seriously annoyed at Hera but he can’t show it bc she’s the queen of the gods.
Hope you like these headcanons!!! :)))
~wolfyboi
thanks for the ask wolfyboi!
awww, these are all so fun and cute! i love thinking about their future and their kids! it just being me so much joy. they deserve to be happy more than anyone. i do hate hera so the thought of them having to dedicate their marriage to her makes me a little queasy, but the idea of chiron having to deal with a ton of people getting married at the camp made me giggle
this put a smile on my face. thank you!! ❤️❤️

I need a break from Ch 5 of the DLAU so fuck it, have headcanons n stuff for ToA until I get it out-
-Lester literally never had a haircut in the entire six months, so obviously it's actually pretty long. Maybe shoulder length?
-OH AND HIS EYESSS his eyes turn gold when he gets a burst of godly power! The ToA discord also came up with them turning entirely green when he has a vision and I love that.
-So Apollo is more than happy to become Lester again, but I like to think he made a few tweaks to the form. For one, replacing the acne with a ton of freckles (on his face and shoulders especially) and maybe dying a few of his curls blonde. Oh, and his eyes are still blue, but around the pupil itself is like a gold ring. So Lester, just with subtle changes to reference Apollo's godly form.
-Meg absolutely has sunflowers planted in Aeithales dedicated to Apollo, and he makes sure they stay alive and healthy no matter what.
-I believe Caleo split up to better focus on themselves. Sorry, I just don't like the pair and it didn't make sense. They're still friends though.
-Georgina is a legacy of Apollo, I will not answer your questions
-Apollo makes it a point to visit the two camps at least weekly, mostly just to say hi and check up on his old friends. He avoids giving out quests, but if he absolutely has to, he makes sure it's easy and even provides an asisst at times.
-Hell, in fact, he might come from nowhere in his Lester form and save you from that fall or dangerous trap, or that horde of monsters about to make a meal out of you. Those in-person interventions are rare though, as Apollo is trying his very best not to alert the other gods on what he's up to.
-The only one that knows is Artemis, but she says and does nothing about it. She understands that this is just Apollo's way to keep himself busy so that he doesn't break down over the memories, over how many died for him. Of course, it's mainly due to the promise he made with Jason that he does so much to help the demigods.
-Apollo spends a lot of time w Meg, helping her garden with the rest of the Imperial Household. He makes sure no harm ever comes to her, that she lives long and happy, and she's grateful for her dummy being there for her.
-Despite how much he now cares for mortals now, he's still a god. Apollo's very reluctant to unleash his plague arrows and whatnot upon humanity, but it's his purpose. So he tries to make any damage minimal when he has to attend to his more destructive godly duties.

Wait. I wanna hear you Will Solace headcanons
Okay so be prepared for these to be wildly inaccurate because all I know about this guy is from fannon. Most of this is also me projecting.
1. Bass player. Yes that is 100% biased, as I am also a bass player (and I hc myself as a legacy of Apollo). No I have no basis on this claim other than Basses Are Just Cooler Than Guitars.
2. OR he’s the guitarist, Nico is the Bassist.
3. If there is a piano in the house, he WILL play it. For hours. Gods forbid you take him anywhere with a public piano.
4. Hates learning Music Theory, learns by ear and by feel. As an Apollo kid, he can instantly read both tab and sheet music, but uses neither.
5. Also has perfect pitch (can name any chord just by hearing it).
6. He’s a Star Wars fan, right? Can talk for hours about John William’s use of Lydian Mode in the score to convey a sense of majesty, and don’t get him started on the expert use of Vagnarian methods of leitmotif-
7. Okay, so maybe he knows a little music theory.
8. Writes terrible poetry that’s low-key kinda good.
9. Founder of the chb LGBTQ+ club.
10. Bisexual flags everywhere. He always at least one pink, purple, and blue pen on hand, doodles exclusively in those colours. His doctors notes are colour-coded pink, purple, blue.
11. BIG supporter of Trans rights- is qualified to help with Gender Affirming Healthcare for anyone at Camp.
12. Apollo is also god of prophecies. Will has the power of foresight ONLY for TV show/Film/Book endings. He is able to predict how a character would die with incredible accuracy after one episode. Morbid as fuck, so naturally Nico thinks it’s the hottest thing ever.
13. SWIFTIE!!!!!
14. Friendship bracelets. VERY swiftie-coded, he has a million of them on both arms, cutting off his circulation.
15. Paints Nico’s nails. Nico insists on all black, but gave in and let Will paint ONE nail fun colours, bedazzled with charms and shit. As long as it’s the middle finger.
Now, specifically my Will x Leo (Platonic) headcannons:
16. Will and Leo become very close at camp simply because Leo has absolutely zero sense of self-preservation. Like that kid does not value his life in any way at all, and so always ends up doing the most reckless shit ever, and, naturally, ends up spending a lot of time in the infirmary, usually only after being dragged there by Jason (“What’s the big deal? It’s just a broken arm. I’m ambidextrous! Besides, I’ve survived worse.”)
17. Will loves him because he’s never there longer than he has to be.
18. Except sometimes he does have to force Leo back into bed while Leo’s yelling loudly about how he needs to get back to his work, the Argo II won’t build itself, and to let go of him or he’ll burn you.
19. Will makes him wear enchanted plasters (band aids) that he can’t take off without doctor’s permission, to stop him absent-mindedly picking at old scabs and bits of skin. He also keeps fidget toys and stress balls to give to his patients. Leo has stolen ALL of them.
20. Like seriously, it is a problem. Leo has had to make them a whole bunch more fidgets because he’s taken and then overworked them until they all broke.
21. Both their southern accents come out more when they talk to each other. If a conversation goes on too long, they evolve into using so much fast-paced Texan slang that no-one else can understand them- it’s practically its own language.
22. BOTH SWIFTIES!!!!!
23. Leo helps out in the infirmary a lot- he’s useful if you need to sterilise equipment or cauterise any wounds.
24. It works sort of like an exchange of favours, where Leo also calls on Will anytime he needs a human flashlight to work on a project.
25. Leo has a lot of scars from his rough childhood. Will is one of the few people (aside from Jason) who’s actually seen them all. They never talk about it, and, as his doctor, he’s sworn to secrecy, but some of them are really disturbing. It will never not shock him that demigods can get hurt by things in the mortal world.
26. Leo makes sure Will uses accurate engineering jargon when writing Star Wars fanfiction.
27. Aside from Leo, Nico is the only one who reads his fanfiction

Look, I didn't want to be praetor. Or be responsible for people, but here I am!
Tumblr media
Hey, before you ask. Yes, my dad's the famous Percy Jackson, yes, my mother is Annabeth Chase. But I'm not going to live in their shadow! I'm making my own path! But before all the epic monologues, I'm Charlotte Sally Jackson, but you can just call me Charlie. Or anything other than "Da Big C" (I WILL fight you, Cassie). I'm the praetor of New Rome, along with Ambrose Asher! Now here's some stuff about me !
Tumblr media
Name: Charlotte Sally Chase - Jackson.
Alias: Charlie, Char-char , Goldfish (come on, dad.), Praetor Jackson, Jackson, Lottie.
Age: 16 Sexuality: Bisexual :D
Weapons: a trident named "Thalassa" (the sea) given to her by Poseidon. It can change shape at will, as it is made of pure water, her mother's Yankees cap.
Relations: Perseus Jackson (father) , Annabeth Chase-Jackson (mother), Cassandra Hestia Chase (sister), Sally Jackson (Grandmother) , Poseidon, Athena.
Personality: changeable like the sea" and hard to predict — with the important exception that she is extremely loyal to her friends and family. Sarcastic and goody at most times, but works great under pressure. Doubtful in her own skills but she believes a hell of a lot in others. The occasional temper is present, of course, but she wouldn't be a Jackson without it, amirite?
Fatal flaw: Overly giving/overly dedicated. She gives every part of her to a task, to a person. Even if she doesn't have anymore to give. She'll die trying.
Relationship with family: HUGE daddy's girl, but they always just roast each other. Loves her mom too, of course, but sometimes she's just too..overbearing. Too strict. Gets along great with her sister, who is 1 year younger than her. Her relationship with her grandma and grandpa (Sally and Paul) is also pretty good, they spoil her rotten (in a good way!). Vibes with Poseidon, kind of vibes with Athena until..a certain event. Now she's steely towards her. She's fond of Hestia and Apollo as they resonate with her.
Fears: small spaces, loss of loved ones/family, tests, drowning.
Sexuality : Bisexual, demiromantic
Hobbies: playing the guitar, occasional drawing, surfing, listening to audiobooks, joking around and learning new things. My sister, Cassandra is 15!
Tumblr media
"You are too giving. You will give yourself to save others, to make others better, to make others feel better, even if you are great danger. In pain, you smile at those around you because you know they'll hurt if you dont. And in the end, legacy of Poseidon, it will be your downfall."

Who do you imagine as Jason's father if it wasn't Zeus? Jupiter did not return to Beryl but she caught the attention of another god or goddess.
Sticking with Roman mythology, and those that have shown up in the series. And excluding the rest of the big 3, because why not make this a bit more intresting.
I have a few thoughts about who I'd choose, and how they'd fit Jason thematically.
Because Jason has always been defined by his parentage. I've narrowed it down to 3, I got way to carried to with this I'm sorry 😅.
Jason as a Son of Auster (Minor Roman God of the Summer and South Wind.)
He's someone Jason frequently interacts with during House of Hades. A diety who reminsces on the old days when he was both feared and beloved.
And someone Jason finds kinda annoying, preferring his Greek counterpart.
Definitely fits his whole identity crisis.
And I just love the idea of Jason both loving his father but also two seconds away from wanting to punt him across the sky.
Jason keeps his wind and storm abilities and gains a power over heat and flames.
Which, would definitely add another layer to the identity crisis, because what are you Jason? The storm or the fire?
He bound to service but it's in his nature to be free. And wanting the forgotten to be remembered.
Than we have Jason as a Son of Terminus (God of boundaries and protector of Rome.)
Jason being expected more than any other to be Camp Jupiter's sworn protector and defender.
He wants to see the world but he's bound by duty. And well Terminus is rather strict so Jason's not exactly well liked by other campers.
He'd also clash with his father at times because Jason wants to end traditions while his father lives and breathes by them.
But Terminus is also a kind diety and loves a good loop hole and I think he'd genuinely be proud seeing Jason speak out and follow the rules, in his own way.
The Quest of the 7 is probably Jason's first time leaving Camp and learning that the world operates on different rules.
Jason has his father's abilities of being able to snatch weapons (making him one of the few that can take Riptide from Percy like his father does) and teloport.
He has some control over the earth, mainly stone and he's built a lot more durable and tougher because of it.
During the Titan War, Jason and his father were Camp Jupiter's final line of defence.
And finally, Jason as a Son of Apollo. Even disregarding trials of Apollo I just find it an interesting idea.
Beryl was a performer, she was a star and Apollo kinda has a type.
Jason would belong to both Greek and Roman Camps. He'd have a lot more of a rivalry with Octavian because he's a demigod and he's a legacy.
Keeping with the theme that Roman demigods have different abilities to their Greek counterparts, (See Hazel and Nico).
And that the Romans seem to get the short end of the stick.
Jason's abilities while including archery are more medical based than combat based. He's had to work hard to get to where he is.
He's a good healer (I mean his name does mean to heal) but what many don't know, is that Jason's a lot more profiecent at giving diseases and causing pain.
It's one Beryl and Lupa was particularly fond of, both thinking he could use it against their enemies.
It's not a power he likes to use, and frankly tries not pretend doesn't exist.
But denial leads to negative emotions and next thing he knows he's given those around him the cold.
Granted, he can heal it but now he's considered an ill omen.
It causes some tension between him and Frank at first because Frank really wants to be a son of Apollo and Jason's like yeah... No you don't.
It also gives him a neat parallel to Will, who's abilities are also mostly healing based. And I feel like the Apollo kids would just adore Jason.
Jason shows up at Camp Half Blood and wonders into the infirmary all curious because he's mostly banned from his camps infirmary, unless they really need him.
And Will is just like hey newbie.
Also Jason not knowing Apollo, thinking his dad wants nothing to do with him but defending him infront of the entire Olympian Council, is so him.
Like I said, a lot of thoughts.

Since I am a strict Percy Jackson fan who loves next generation AUs, here’s mine:
Ezra Achilles Chase Jackson:
- son to Percy and Annabeth
- legacy of poseidon and athena
- takes after his dad way more in personality, but has his mom’s blonde ringlet-like hair and his dad’s sea green eyes
- skater boy, definitely.
- he’s also a basketball player
- type of motherfucker to say ‘womp womp’ to the gods
- monsters prey on him more, since he’s the son of two major heroes
- Percy Jackson variant, also a Harry Potter variant too
Lynnette Bellona Zhang:
- daughter to frank and hazel
- legacy of pluto and mars
- takes after her mother in appearance, but has her father’s black hair, brown eyes with looser curls and lighter skin
- glasses cuz she’s blind af
- cheerleader, both competitive and school
- absolutely LOATHES her full first name, so she goes by ‘lynn’
- people joked about her being praetor, but as she grew older she started to resent the idea
- Annabeth Chase variant, Hermione Granger variant
Blaise Jason Valdez:
- son to calypso and leo
- legacy of hephaestus
- carbon copy of his father, only thing he inherited from the mother was her smile
- for some reason has an obsession with Big Hero 6, no one knows why and he knows the whole lore and can rant about it for hours
- band kid
- cannot speak a single WORD of spanish
- due to his father being the one that attacked new rome, he has a sucky reputation in camp jupiter
- Grover Underwood variant, Ron Weasley variant as well
Mayra Lee Di-Solace
- surrogate daughter to will and nico
- legacy of apollo
- got ginger hair from her surrogate mother, however has will’s blue eyes and freckles
- most people don’t believe her and Lynn are cousins because they don’t look alike
- color guard
- speaks in a southern accent she somehow inherited from will
- Tartarus HATES to see her coming
- Ginny Weasley variant, NO SHE IS NOT DATING EZRA
that’s all I have :) I pray someone draws fanart of this 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Heyyyy so about that pjo/batfam au.... I love it.
I wonder if any of the bat kids are legacies or half bloods? Like, they'd be ripe for urgent adoption and training, given the inherent risk of monsters! Not to mention the specially bred deep rooted battle/hero instincts. Would only some be half bloods? Any? How would that affect the dynamics, to have some (or just B) be aware of and able to interact with this whole secret world complete with monsters hidden in plain sight?? There's got to be tons of secret pjo resource stashes like different metals, foods, weapons, armour hidden everywhere hehe.
Ooh, would a bat kid ever have accidentally eaten ambrosia/nectar (or gotten close) without knowing what it is? Is Alfred a legacy?? A satyr?!! That'd be so so cool. (and it'd be an explanation for how long lived he is lmao)
If the batkids were all legacies/half bloods, who would be who? Would there be a mix of greek/roman? Is Bruce aware of the Egyptians or Norse lot?? I'm so curioussssss
ooo okay so the batkids! i explained it like... a year ago (jeez) in this post but here's the basic rundown:
Bruce: Athena (three parents, complicated situation)
Dick: Hermes (three parents, uncomplicated situation)
Babs: mortal, clearsighted, not The Oracle but calls herself Oracle
Jason: Nemesis (still working this one out)
Cass: Shiva/Nike, raised by David Cain
Tim: Bellona/Janet (who is a legacy of zeus)
Steph: Apollo
Damian: Legacy Athena/Hades
Duke: normal ("normal") meta but everyone up to and including Apollo thinks he's Apollo's kid
-
There are definitely stashes of demigod resources! most of the stock is in the Batcave, but they definitely have stashes in all the safehouses. They're basically like any other resource- medical supplies, celestial bronze dagger, batarangs, smoke pellets, ambrosia, etc. Considering that celestial bronze and nectar/ambrosia are pretty rare, i doubt they're using them daily, but everyone definitely has emergency demigod equipment on them. I'm also making Gotham a Land Beyond Gods, a la Alaska in SoN, so there's less of a monster problem than other cities. Gotham kinda like the trash dump of the demigod world- all the weird fucked up stuff ends up there for our intrepid heroes to get chased by.
-
Most of the Batkids are aware of who they are, eventually! Bruce, Cass, and Damian always know, Dick and Jason figure it out pretty quickly after living with Bruce, Tim figures it out himself before becoming Robin, and Steph only figures it out after she "dies" (poor guy). Bruce isn't very good with the Mist, and monsters aren't like, a huge problem in Gotham, so it's not really a big deal to them if they are/aren't demigods. Babs kept up just fine as a mortal, after all. Like i said earlier, ambrosia/nectar are in short supply in Gotham (bruce doesn't really have a consistent way of getting more besides through diana, who also doesnt really have a consistent way of getting more), so nobody's eating any by accident.
-
I have literally no idea what's going on with Alfred. I joked a while back that he's a minor god, which I'm not opposed to, I'd just have to work that one out a bit more. The satyr idea is fun and works really well, except imagining Alfred with goat legs and eating aluminum cans freaks me out and I don't know what to do about that. He could also just be a mortal blessed by [insert god here] to have a longer lifespan, or someone who made a deal with [insert god here] to be alive as long as Bruce/the Wayne family needs him. It'll be interesting to figure out, whenever I end up doing that!
-
Bruce and Co. are NOT aware of the other pantheons! As in, they are so unaware of the other pantheons that nobody can figure out who the fuck Tim's godly parent is. Bellona is on nobody's radar, everyone is split between Ares/Dionysus/Athena/????. They also haven't figured out he's a Zeus legacy, because his ancestor fled to Gotham during WW2 and then did their best to hide their heritage for their and their kids' safety. Poor guy doesn't know what the fuck is going on, basically. Bruce is actually pretty cut off from CHB, so he's not super up-to-date about the demigod world. He tends to focus more on the superhero side of things. His kids have varying levels of interest/affiliation with the demigods, but they're definitely not on the "first to know" end of news whenever things happen. It takes a hot minute for anyone to figure out the Romans exist, and considering that Percy and Annabeth try pretty hard to conceal the Egyptian and presumably Norse pantheons, we can assume the Batfam isn't aware of those guys for quite a bit after the Greeks learn about them.

RGS (Revamped God Swap) AU pt. idk
Okay I think I've finally settled on a heritage for Percy and pretty much most of the characters I've mentioned that aren't Thalia or Nico.
Percy - I've decided Percy is going to be the Son of Poseidon and Juno now before I get roasted hear me out lol.
Percy isn't Juno's child in a traditional sense but more like how Jason was Juno's champion but a bit more than that.
After Percy was born, Sally ended up praying for protection for him to basically any goddess that would listen as she sort of knew he'd lead a more tragic life than others and Juno ended up listening and embedded some of her essence in him, sort of like a blessing and Juno basically just adopted him (especially after Sally dies in this AU because I'm evil like that).
But similar to Jason in canon, Percy doesn't really meet Juno, but he does meet Hera which is a bit more prone to disliking him but doesn't like outright hate him. She's kinda just thinking "why embed my power in a son of POSEIDON?? What were you thinking Juno" but like by the end Hera definitely comes around.
He'd also be a legacy of Sol like in my original plans but he wouldn't really get any major insane abilities out of it, if he did maybe something to do with light but I'm not sure I could link light to his water, storm, and air (from Juno) related powers properly so I might not touch that...
Gabe Ugliano is still a thing. I say this because I feel like its a big part of his character because some big parts of his character is his low self esteem, his loyalty, his anger, and I feel like some of the bigger and even smaller parts about his character (possibly) stem from his circumstances and how he was raised, especially in TLT. So I'm opting to keep him in here.
Percy at the beginning would have twice the enemies. Not only is Hades after him, but Zeus is too (because of the Juno thing) so when Percy fights the minotaur even with Hades intentions to save Sally as a bargaining chip, Zeus intervenes and so Sally ends up dying against the Minotaur.
So Percy ends up with his only friend, Grover by his side. And in this timeline there's no Annabeth so while he's at camp and especially after his claiming he's alone. He still goes on the quest and doesn't save his mother but he does retrieve the helm and master bolt because it's what his mom would've wanted him to do- to help.
Percy does go back home (and he does kill Gabe Ugliano because he deserves way worse than being frozen as a statue). And from there he becomes a year round camper because he has nobody to go back to, he didn't really have any friends or family so he's all alone.
Eventually I'd say he does meet Paul through Rachel and finally deciding to go home after the labyrinth and a few mist trickery things later ends up going to Goode because of Rachel and meets Paul and Paul basically ends up adopting him at some point (and also Fredrick Chase after meeting Annabeth and then her dad).
Annabeth - Annabeth would be after thinking hard and long about it a Roman child of Apollo. She'd go a long time thinking that she just didn't have powers until she finally comes in contact with the Romans (yeah I read a Roman!Annabeth story and got this idea so yeah). I also don't think she'd run away in this timeline, especially because the baby was intentional (and also because she's a legacy of Athena.) Freddy would be a good parent in this timeline and take care of his daughter lol. So in this timeline she doesn't meet Thalia AND Luke but possibly one of them.
I think Freddy would be similar to Sally and just wanting to keep his daughter as long as possible, so he and her would make a lot of trips to camp half-blood when Annabeth was younger during the summers and weekends, sort of like trips for certain periods of time. Freddy being of demigod heritage himself wouldn't want Annabeth to be at camp half-blood, especially knowing that Chiron sends KIDS on quests (Fredrick might've been at CHB once, got sent on a quest when he was younger and he was the only one who survived and never went on one again and left it behind as soon as he turned 18) so his home would be equipped with Celestial Bronze weapons. Freddy sometimes would get too caught up in Annabeth's safety that Annabeth feels more so trapped and guarded from every little thing which would lead to Annabeth running away after an argument about a monster attack which would lead to Lupa finding her.
Freddy is eventually put in the loop about where Annabeth is: Camp Jupiter and despite everything, she becomes a child soldier anyways. But Annabeth being at CJ is the best thing ever. All of a sudden she has all these cool powers (which I want to go more in depth about in another post) and she's living her dream, she's always wanted to fight, always wanted a quest. But eventually she finds out it isn't as hyped as it's made out to be and decides to simply come back home because even though he handled it in a bad way, she finally understands why he kept her away from CHB and from fighting monsters.
Thalia - Thalia's backstory is pretty similar to canon. She's the daughter of Zeus, but the daughter of two different aspects, the chthonic earth Zeus (which was a version of Zeus in certain parts of Greece, and also plays a part in her fear of her air powers) and God of Storms and Lightning Zeus so she's way more dangerous. She comes from a pagan family and Beryl was a huge worshipper and legacy of Aphrodite.
Thalia runs away and meets Luke like in canon but doesn't meet Annabeth. They end up getting to camp but shit hits the fan when Luke is sent on a quest. Luke is excited, really excited he can finally prove his worth and get the campers to trust him but only Thalia comes back (with the apples) but no Luke, no other demigod comes back.
But Thalia is different now. Besides the scar etched on her face like a painful reminder somethings changed. She's much more volatile and dangerous to be around. She also doesn't seem to age much either, she doesn't really grow- not really. After she reaches 15 she sort of just stops, like she's stuck in time and nobody thinks about it- not really. Percy comes to camp and Thalia teaches him. She tutors him the best she can, along with trying to steer his way of thinking. She stays at camp until the end of summer, where at the end she tries to kill Percy (she's been trying to hold on as long as possible and convince him, she doesn't want to hurt Percy, not really but Kronos is offering her power and a world where kids don't have to go on quests ever again. And if Kronos has to coerce her into killing a kid so be it).
Luke - Luke, the son of Hades. Luke who's mother was driven insane when Hades offered her godhood, Luke's mother who couldn't handle the power of the underworld and is slowly withering away, so he ran away. Luke is similar to Nico (in TTC) when he finds out what he is though, he gets to have a purpose and life and he free from his mom, and Thalia is an added bonus he likes very much.
Luke is nearly 16 when he's offered his quest and readily accepts (I aged him down a bit to fit my insane story) but he dies- or he thinks so. He's swallowed by the Earth and next thing he knows he wakes up and everything's different.
Thalia is gone and there's this guy named Percy? And he comes back to camp and after finding out what happened suddenly everything's too much. The attention and expectations were easier because Thalia carried them with him. But now she's gone and suddenly everything's up to him. Percy tries to help and grows closer to him and Luke cant help himself, he reminds him too much of Thalia. But Thalia makes him an offer and Luke can't bring himself to refuse. Thalia was always Luke's everything and if he becomes the villain everyone at camp was expecting him to be then so be it, right?
Clarisse - Daughter of Nike (Legacy of Glaucus). Clarisse being raised in a militaristic home, being from a lineage which is basically all military soldiers and demigods, being pushed to be the best- to win. Clarisse had always known she was a demigod since like- forever and so ever since she could remember she's been molded, training, fighting even in the smallest of ways like withholding emotions and being trained in weaponry.
She's eventually found by Coach Hedge however and taken to CHB. She doesn't get claimed until after SOM where once she comes back with the fleece she's claimed by Nike and Glaucus (Glaucus would be the one who gave her the boat in this AU and the warriors are simply dead navy men.) Clarisse doesn't join the titan army even though she's tempted at times, because she knows Percy will lead CHB to victory.
Their relationship doesn't start as hostile but definitely slowly grows hostile overtime. Clarisse has been training her entire life for this life, but Percy gets most of the quests, he leads the quests and sometimes does stupid things that don't lead to victory. Clarisse's fatal flaw, hubris gets the better of her and eventually their conflict comes to a head and the camp becomes divided but eventually they talk and reconcile. She finds out they're more alike than they think, and that he's just a kid and she learns that she's just a kid too and she decides he'll bring this kid victory, that he'll rage and fight for him.
I've been writing this for like an hour but this is part one, not everyone's going to get a godly parent swap but I just wanted to go over some basic characters for this one so uh enjoy. Next post will prob be more god swap stuff, either other parentages or going into depth about these (five?) and their powers.

i saw a joke post of "if hera did the demigod swap on another pair of demigods camp halfblood would send octavian back" and i went "that would not fucking happen" but lacked the knowledge and proper depth to elaborate. your octavian character analysis was incredibly in depth, analyzing every single moment and dissecting his character in a way that shows a clearer grasp of the character and who he is more than the supposed pieces given but never expanded. the fic has shed a new light on a character and explained exactly why i liked him so much in son of neptune.
so therefore i propose a question for you: if hera actually did swap octavian into camp halfblood without any of his memories with another greek demigod into camp jupiter (nico, rachel, etc), what do you think would happen?
apologies for any inconvenience! your take was exactly the thing i was looking for, and im so thankful that ive found others who share the same love of octavian. have a good day/night!
Thank you for the ask! This answer is potentially very simple or very complicated.
To begin with, the issues with Octavian being part of the switch:
Firstly, Hera would never. While she's isn’t openly against Octavian, I get the impression she didn't want him to interfere at all. Possibly because he'd tell her all the ways her interpretation of the prophecy are wrong (lol).
Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, Octavian is a legacy and Camp Half-Blood is only for half-bloods (it's in the name!). Octavian would likely struggle to enter the camp to begin with.
So the short answer would be... they'd just be very confused by Octavian and likely treat him as a clear-sighted mortal. They wouldn't kick him out so much as just like... not let him in?
But that's a boring answer.
The More Complicated Answer
In this scenario, the switch would probably be led by Apollo and, yeah, Rachel would be the other side of the switch. With Rachel missing, the Greeks are more likely to see Octavian as her replacement, but it still might be awkward.
Also, Octavian’s “team” would have to be different, primarily because Octavian isn’t a great fighter – Octavian effectively replaces Piper in terms of abilities. So they’d need some muscle for any quests.
When the Greeks realise that Octavian can see the future, they will likely make the connection between him and the missing Rachel. The gift of prophecy is rare. So at the point they realise Octavian can see the future, I don't think they'd drive him out without just cause. After all, prophecies are how quests begin – without their Oracle, Octavian is their only alternative. They are definitely not going to let him go easily!
Like Jason, with his memories gone Octavian wouldn't have the prejudices nor the knowledge of history and legend that Canon!Octavian does. He wouldn’t view the Greeks as his enemies.
At the same time, I don't see Octavian taking the loss of his memories in his stride in the same way Jason does. Octavian is the opposite of chill. So I think a great deal of panicking and yelling ought to be expected.
However, we also know that Octavian has a dream: becoming a hero. This isn’t something seers usually get to be, they just help the heroes on their journey. So I think Octavian could quickly become very motivated to achieve whatever quest Apollo gives him. And a determined Octavian is a forced to be reckoned with!
One thing I can see happening is that the Greeks not being all that keen for their maybe-Oracle-who-is-definitely-a-mortal wanting to go on a dangerous quest. And even without his memories, Octavian would take exception to that. Unlike Jason, Octavian doesn’t care about breaking the rules. I don’t see him waiting around very long once he’s foreseen what he needs to do.
Basically, Octavian would sway his new buddies to come on a technically-sanctioned-quest-because-I’m-the-seer-and-I-say-it-is quest. While the Romans would hate this, I think the Greeks would be more inclined to let it slide.
In summary, while it would take a bit for Octavian to settle in, I think Octavian would be a lot quicker to fully enculturate to Camp Half-Blood. A lot of his personality fits better with the Greek side than the Roman – there’s a less of a demand from the Greeks that everyone be a warrior, for example.
I once joked about how, if Octavian had been switched, he’d never want to go back to the Romans – and that’s kind of true. The Greeks respect prophecies and those who provide them. Whereas the Romans never respect Octavian. They assume that they’re going to be perfectly fine with or without him. I don’t see them looking for him at all. They’d just mark him as a deserter and washing their hands of him.
Octavian really just wants people to like him, honestly. And while he’s definitely prickly on the outside, so are a lot of Greeks (see: Clarisse and Michael Yew). I think they’d respect him, even like him, a lot more than the Romans do.
That all being said, Octavian has a strong sense of loyalty to Rome. His loyalty doesn’t falter even when those he’s loyal to stop caring about him. Even if the Romans hate him, he will try to save them. So it’s not like he’d ignore the peace mission. But also don’t see him getting his memories back changing his opinion of Greek demigods.
If Octavian would be able to actually sway the Romans on his return is the real question. Furthermore, the reunion would then lead to the tricky scenario with Rachel returning to the Greeks, and Octavian being left in the lurch. The Romans probably don’t want him back – but now he’s not useful to the Greeks.
I could see his character arc being about him becoming more than an augur, where he develops his other skills and becomes a strong fighter. And eventually getting his wish of being a hero.
TLDR:
That joke post was half-right, but not for the reasons they were probably thinking. Still, if the hurdle of Octavian being a legacy and not a half-blood were overcome, then I don't see Octavian ever leaving the Greeks' side.
Once again, thanks for the ask and thank you for reading my blogs & stuff!

For the bat x pjo thing, I’ve always loved the idea of Jason as a son of poseidon. I know that one’s probably overdone, but I love it a lot!
Just think about it—he’s got the looks, the sheer physical and probably even mystical power, the changeability…he’s just as intelligent as Percy believes he (Percy) isn’t, especially strategically. He was resurrected during heavy rain, which could be an explanation, like Poseidon’s upset his kid died so he’s sending rain to bring him back. He died in the desert, where there’s not a lot of water, and I know it’s a lazarus pit, but he regained his faculties in the water, and in both the comics and the movie, he’s extremely disoriented and falls/is pushed off a cliff into a body of water—but more than that, even if he preempts betrayal later on by leaving first, he is EXTREMELY loyal and will do anything for his friends.
I don’t know if you’ve already heard it, but you should really listen to Ruthlessness from Epic the Musical, with Jason confronting Bruce with the Joker in mind. It’s perfect for that, and that’s actually how I got the idea before I read anything on AO3 with Jason as a son of poseidon.
And I love the idea of Roy as a son of Athena too, you know, extremely clever, invents things but also fights very well, and, even if he’s not great at lying as a leader, is a very good leader anyway. (Kori and Bizarro have their own things, but Artemis, even though she is from Bana-Mighdall, is still descended from the greek amazons, and could be a legacy of a child of Athena, Ares, or Apollo).
And yeah, okay, I feel like Damian kinda has to be a legacy or something, BUT what if he were more like Carter Kane in The Red Pyramid? A vessel for Horus, or something, but a powerful warrior-magician nonetheless.
For Dick, I really liked in your other one him as a child of Hermes, but I feel like a son of Astrape, goddess of lightning, would work better. Astrape for sheer, you know, flashy power that still puts you on your ass, and arcs through the sky even if it can’t fly on its own necessarily (although that’s just a lot more representative, of course his abilities would be the result of hard work, as usual). And the fact that Astrape and Bronte are in Zeus’ entourage, and his shield/weapons bearers just fits Batman and Robin’s first thing and then Nightwing and Batman’s whole thing after very well, I think.
As for Tim? I honestly think he should just be a clear sighted mortal. He’s never seemed that much like any one child of anything to me.
Stephanie as the daughter of Dionysus is just inspired, and I can’t believe I never thought of it!
And Alfred I feel like would be, even if not the son of anyone, or a legacy, a sort of disciple of Hestia or something.
Babs I just love as a daughter of Athena, but also, she’s kind of taken the role of Oracle for herself, and I was thinking, you know, she should be a clear sighted mortal who became the oracle of Delphi, like Rachel.
And Cass I love as the daughter of Nike, but I feel like a daughter of Hades just fits her so well! Disappears into shadows, often called quite creepy and yet has no patience for what she sees as trivial when she could be attacking something with her fists instead (and has something against contributing to the overpopulation of her father’s realm 😆).
And Duke I liked in the other one too, able to see something vaguely…Other about his foster family, and the gods already seeming much too bright, but just with his meta ability.
Heh, I know I focussed a lot on Jason and the Outlaws, but they are very much my blorbos 😅.
💜
god i do really love Poseidon kid Jason (especially if we give Jason more of the earthshaker powers). he's definitely very similar to Percy in a lot of ways like you mentioned. HOWEVER while you bring up a LOOOT of good points for Poseidon kid Jason i think i want to stray away from having any of the batkids being kids of the big three? i feel like it might to into like,, mary sue territory (even though they're not really OCs but I'm lowkey kinda strict with my PJO aus and want to stick as close to canon as possible - meaning the big three only broke their oaths to not have kids with Percy, Jason and Thalia.) maybe ill do another au or something with Poseidon kid Jason because i really do love it lol
Athena kid Roy is interesting! unfortunately i don't know much abt Roy himself to really refute it or anything
as for Damian i definitely was playing with him being a magician, and maybe a legacy on Talias side? I'm not too sure on that part.
Astrape kid dick is also interesting! i haven't really looked at any of the more minor gods/goddesses for any of them but i can def see it! it's taking some of the traits of Zeus and toning them down a bit without really taking away the power. i still think I'm kinda attached to Hermes kid dick, but if we really want to give him flight we can give him the shoes similar to the ones Luke gave Percy in tlt
honestly mortal Tim does make sense and can also play into his insecurities on not being enough to fit dick or Jason's shoes as robin, since he's not a demigod he's just a regular kid. (however i think i am attached to Aphrodite kid Tim now lol but i do think mortal Tim could be good)
i think i may need a bit more swaying on Dionysus kid Stephanie but i do think its cool - it's definitely something i haven't seen before.
and yes i think Babs should just be a clearsighted mortal no matter how much i like Athena kid Babs. i did really want to play into the oracle name itself and her being the oracle of Delphi is good (however i don't really think her being the oracle itself - like Rachel- would fit in the au? unless they were all at camp i don't really know. i don't think the batfamily themselves need an oracle ? maybe she could be blessed (or cursed) by apollo )
i do like hades kid Cass but like i said with dick i kinda don't want any of them to be kids of the big three. but i think it fits her character - especially with her being a bit creepy as black bat/batgirl. but it might be interesting in terms of her childhood - if David was aware of her parentage he might have had higher hopes for this killing machine he wanted. this child of hades who is a master at reading body language and could kill with the touch of a hand? it could also tie into her adverseness of death itself - because she couldn't handle the feeling of death because of two contributing factors - her understanding of death through her hades powers (like Nico) and her understanding of body language. (hmmm maybe i might make an exception of my refusal of big three kids for hades Cass)
and yes!! i love the ideas of just meta Duke with no godly influence. it might be interesting for him to not be clearsighted - but that could bring in more ideas for how his powers affect his life. do you think he could see the outline or the shadow of a monster? or that his new foster family's eyes tend to glow slightly too bright and there seems to be something golden in their veins? maybe one of them could have some control of the mist like hazel does and would lift the mist later on for duke.
very good takes!! you're definitely making me think about these tho lol

^ this is the context for this post.
So I revamped Jason's backstory but also Reyna's and Octavian's. I also changed New Rome and the Camp Jupiter because it made no sense to have teenagers leading when adults were there.
Here the praetor is called the Wolf (it's a woman) and she's training Reyna, Jason and Octavian to become the next leaders and form a triumvirate. The idea is to have a prophet, a soldier and a king: one to take care of the prophecies and their link to the gods, one to fight and raise army and the last one to lead and deal with politics. In respective order, Ocatvian Reyna and Jason.
The Camp is now violent and strict because adults who had a hard times surviving as teenagers resolved in violence and grew up to think the only way a demigod can make it to their twenties is by training and be a soldier. If they can fight back, if they have an entire army behind them, if they don't leave the Camp and do not involve themselves with the greek, everything should be alright, shouldn't it?
At the Camp, there aren't that much adults. There isn't a whole town, but it's starting to build slowly. Obviously, the Wolf's actions seem to be the right thing to do, especially to the Wolf. She grew up like this, and everytime they tried to do something else, people died. Kids are trained young, by Lupa "the Other Wolf", because everyone know they might have to fight soon. She's very cautious of strangers too, especially ones like Nico di Angelo and Percy's arrival won't be seen in a great eye.
Also, the Big Three don't have Roman kids. They did the pact too and contrary to their greek counterparts, are described as more martial and ready to follow the rules. However, there are legacies and Octavian is still one.
I do think the implication of Reyna and Jason in the war against Luke ans Kronos wasn't authorized by the Wolf. However, they were much younger and I'm going to say why now: I'm making the Heroes of Olympus set two years after the Battle of Manhattan, mostly to fix the messy timeline (especially concerning Nico). So here, Jason was 13 and Reyna between 13 and 14. I thought about having another kid with them who would be a child of Apollo and the original prophet of the Camp before they died and gave their place to Octavian, but I do think it would be a little on the nose.
Anyway, this secret mission was Jason's idea. In the Wolf's own words (to Reyna) he might be too soft for the role he was assigned to, and she considered making Reyna the next praetor instead of Jason. Multiple others died during the quest and he realized how his actions and his responsabilities should not be taken lightly. He changes entirely, became more and more of a rule-follower and was very cautious: he would only risk his own life carelessely, not his friends and allies'. As a punishment, the Wolf made him leader of the worst cohort and in some years he was able to make it the best.
Also, Jason is the future Praetor because of Juno. If it was up to the Wolf, Reyna would be. First of all because in her eyes, leadership is gained through power and being able to lead an army. But she does think Reyna isn't friendly enough, while Jason is easily able to make friends.
So yeah that's the backstory, kinda all over the place but I'll clean it when all plot holes are filled.
