A Story on How I Started Playing Oreca (at 3rd of March 2023)

I wanted to share how I first started to play Oreca Battle at Yogyakarta, and how I got 4 starter cards instead of just 1 or 3 in a day-

It was one of the most memorable day of my life, and for no reason, I never actually shared the full story other than to the friends on a Discord server

Thankfully, the moderator never really deleted the channel, so the original photos from that day still exist

So it all started by the coincidences where I started wanting to know more about Oreca Battle because of Mudae, and the sudden appearance of Oreca Battle machines on the arcade near me when I visited the mall on probably February 2023

I needed to prepare myself before actually playing the game, so I searched on how to play the game and read some stray infos from a quick google search

The machines on those years are probably still on New Chapter 1 and New Prologue if I wasn't wrong, so yea, I started at New Prologue-

Everything was going well after the first battle, I had a very fun time battling and deciding on who I want to print When suddenly...

The machine just malfunctioned- I was probably in distraught when this happened-

I asked the staff for help, but since the machine is still very new for this arcade, the staff have not much idea on how to help me, and instead offered me a free play on the other machine beside it

I remembered trying out New Chapter 1 instead on this machine, and was anticipating to print Flow after the battle

But another misfortune befell-

But thankfully, the third machine worked without having any other problem! And back to the issue of the machine being new to this arcade, because the staff gave me not just 1 (one) free play for this machine, but 3 (three) free plays instead-

And that is how I got 3 starters instead of one, because I took the opportunity to print both Tanta, Burn, and Magician all at once-

And after having a feel on how interesting the game is, I tried to play it again But that's also how I found out that the machine doesn't have working light bulb on the scanner, because I can't scan any of the cards I just got-

So instead, I try my hands on combining, and get Arthur's card (He was on the list of monsters that caught my interest when I was first fishing for any info before playing this game)

And that is probably how everything went!

I don't really remember what I do after that, probably hunting info on how getting Culann, continue watching the anime, hunting for more info about this niche game, everything else, and had an idea to record myself playing so I never forget about this game incase anything happened(?)

The rest is history, and here I am now 1 year later, and still playing Oreca Battle for atleast once a month-

What a year it have been, huh- And now we have the latest update for New Chapter 3 for the machines at Yogya, and lotsa of battles we have done to get here

So we went on a road trip and I went to a Learning Express for the first time! It was a DREAM COME TRUE!! The closest one was in a neighboring state, so for my bday we took a road trip there! It was a BLAST seeing stim toys in stock that I had never seen in person before, only online! I love everything I got! And the little electronic drawing board with the axolotl case is good for drawing stims and non-verbal communication!

I'm buying stuff in anticipation of being able to get my own place hopefully in the next couple months (Looking for a job in another state lol), and I left a lot of my list alone specifically to wait for prime day.

I don’t think I ever posted them but :)) I made this DST oc a while back and absolutely adore these two so much :)) but uhhhhh rant incoming—

They’re sorta meant to be like. A revisiting of a lot of other old Don’t Starve OCs I made when I was way younger (we’re talking maybe 10-12, can barely remember) and just took various concepts and twisted them into one— or two— existing characters! I don’t have a lot on what their play style would be and frankly I sorta created them more for fun anyway :)

Willabelle is the name of the parasitic mushroom that has taken over the body. The host’s name is Warna. She’s pretty much mostly sickly and drools a lot from the parasite, but they’d sort of accidentally came into contact not meant to be like how Webber’s backstory is. Admittedly, Willabelle was basically born from Warna’s body before they’d even entered the constant (likely pulled in by Charlie due to the stir it would have caused in the outside world), but the parasite’s intentions were never malicious as she didn’t have much of a say in the host she would become attached to (her form was probably just made completely of infected spores that somehow got into the real world by unknown means).

In the end, despite Warna’s incredibly sickly form due to this all, she still retained some sense of self and still proves to have a mind of her own and can even move freely when she has the strength. Sometimes Willabelle has to take over for that and move the body for her, as they basically share the same system now and both are capable of correlating the body whenever they need to. Willabelle and Warna have grown a sisterly bond, as being forced into this mess together has allowed them to learn more about each other and the Constant they’re now inhabiting. Despite the consequences, they’ve learned to make the most of a terrible start and found some positivity in having a comforting hand that’s always at the ready to hold.

Willabelle probably does most of the talking— I think Warna’s voice box is a little shot but she can probably get some words or sentences out when she feels like it. Even if Willabelle is technically a burden to her, Warna’s body managed to get used to it way easier in the Constant where things are always weird and there’s probably a little magic keeping everyone from just instantly dying to anything that would probably kill you in the real world. Perhaps that’s to the duo’s benefit.

I think there should be a rule at standing shows that short people get to be in the front and tall people are required to stand behind. Like, if you get a group of people all under 5ft 4in together to watch something they will coordinate with each other so that everyone can see and will work together to make sure everyone has a window of visibility. Tall people just don’t give a fuck and don’t think about how short people can’t see shit if they’re in front of them.

Any time I go to a standing gig I resign myself to not being able to see a single thing. The only time I ever had a clear view while attending a standing gig was at the Manics in London because we queued from like 8am and because of that got a spot on the barrier. When I saw them in Cardiff we queued from like 1pm or something and were only a few rows back from barrier, but US standing show culture doesn’t having queueing and doesn’t respect it and I can never see fucking anything.

It’s just stupid because unless you are right up on the barrier and within touching distance, it doesn’t fucking matter. So tall people should be made to stand in the back and short people in the front because I guarantee the short people will self-organize so everyone can see and the tall people will be able to see over the heads of everyone under 5′5″ anyway.

Like I love going to gigs but it’s my biggest frustration because I am only 5 ft tall and I can never see anything because tall people will glance behind them, see me standing there unable to see past them, and will just shrug. It would just be a better experience if there was a nice height gradient at gigs and everyone could fucking see.
