Penny Blood Inheritors Story volume 1 review.

It's a collection of 3 short stories set after Penny Blood's main campaign.

"Hide Seekers part 1" Matthew and Emilia track Jack the Ripper in 1926 Whitechapel. Matthew is different from what I thought he'd be like. Plus I like that Emilia's mom is the first Matthew/Emilia shipper.

"The Vessel of Summoners part 1" covers two twins who work for the Japanese government supernatural divisions. Probably the longest of the three sections but probably the one that is hit or miss. I didn't hate it or love it.

The twins are the biggest connections to Shadow Hearts.

Suseri makes an appearance and we learn about her family life.

"Erebus part 1" focuses on an Bureau of Investigation agent Alaska Davidson looking into missing children in the Roaring Twenties era NY. She faces opposition from the local police and another BOI agent who is suspicious.

Roxanne, Candy and Vito make an appearance but Roxanne gets the bulk of the screen time. She and Alaska have a classic buddy cop dynamic and it's fun to read.

It's a solid set of stories and I'm looking forward to seeing more Penny Blood content in the future.

Been binge watching X-Files recently and I've always wanted to make a fake Altered Item file cuz it seemed fun

It was fun.

#the paranatural property is that it imbues a simultaneous sense of scepticism and desire to believe #it basically sat in that office for a decade absorbing the emotional resonance of mulder and scully #and it projects a concentrated form of that on people who look at it #which the last bit of redacted text says makes it a useful tool for training FBC agents #cuz it makes them better investigators #cuz scully and mulder were at their best when they worked together :) and the poster gives somebody both their best properties #obviously this isn't very lore friendly #cuz if X-Files and Control existed in the same universe the FBC would never have allowed the X-Files to exist #unless they deemed it a useful tool ig #anyway #txf #x-files #x files #fox mulder #dana scully #frederick langston #federal bureau of control #control #control 2019 #control remedy #crossover #possible other anomalous property: the poster makes coworkers have very not-platonic feelings for each other #that they don't act on properly ever #and it drives everybody forced to watch crazy

#my characters #the two as kids are playing in a park and ladd wanders off and gets uhhh abducted kinda #basically a siren lures him so he goes physically willingly not knowing its a siren singing to him and it leads to his disappearance #for a couple weeks and lass blames herself and when ladd shows back up with no memory of the weeks gone #she just gets so scared and refuses to talk to ladd bc what if she hurts him or gets him hurt #so she goes to therapy for it and then they both get employed at the supernatural bureau of investigations #and then ladd proceeds to be an absolute asshole to everyone without trying hes just really not good at socializing #and so lass and one of the main characters are like... i want to kill ladd so bad hes so annoying #while ladd is like ???????? I AM LITERALLY JUST EXISTING THATS MEAN #then he gets wind of a case the main duo is working on and it feels familiar so he asks to help bc it takes place near where he grew up #and its kids getting abducted and he ends up finding the siren and the memories come back #and so he tells the other two where the kids are most likely bc thats where he was kept #and its just a siren who wanted to be a mom but instead of having her own kids she just lures in kids to take care of #until shes bored and ladd is like ok well that answers a lot and while id love to forgive you and take you in alive #you ruined my sisters childhood and thats something i cant give leniency to #and kills the siren which ends the abductions and then he gets back to work and hugs lass and says nothing about it #and she just writes it off as ladd being weird again cause whatever #anyway thanks they're side characters
