Brush Park, Detroit in the 1880's vs the 2000's. The area has since been refurbished and many of the historical brick homes rebuilt in the old style, in addition to new condos (which aren't as aesthetically pleasing/don't match the style of the area, but oh well it's better than a vacant lot). 261A Alfred Street, the boxy building seen surviving above, was completely renovated and sold for $945,000. You can see it here. Memes about Detroit decay make the rounds on the internet and I just wanted to update them. Areas of Detroit are slowly but surely being improved and rebuilt.

The Ransom Gill house in Brush Park, Detroit. After being abandoned for many years, it was restored by Nicole Curtis of Rehab Addict. It was built in 1876 for just $12,000. 5000 Sq feet.
