(SPOILERS obviously):
An obvious one, but a classic, the "up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!" line reference. This one never gets old.
Jimmy next name drops Flamebird. in the comics Nightwing and Flamebird were Kryptonian superheroes adopting their names from a species of Kryptonian birds. This is where Dick Grayson gets his Nightwing identity from. The page here is from Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe #17 (1986) drawn by Curt Swan and Karl Kesel.
At the climatic battle of part 2 of Adventures of a Normal Man, we see Leslie Willis become blue and look more like her traditional Livewire look. Her first appearance was in Superman the Animated Series, season 2 episode 5 "Livewire" where she was voiced by Lori Petty, a.k.a. Tank Girl. In the show Leslie was a shock jock radio DJ slinging hot takes live on air knocking down Superman a peg or two
Obviously MAwS took Leslie in a whole different direction, design choice, and occupation change, but I am excited to see what happens next for her.
Before we see Clark battle Leslie we see this guy. White hair, wears orange and black, its Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. This fool here in like 20 to 25 years will have his life spiral out of control and get his ass kicked by a bunch of colorfully dressed teenagers.
Deathstroke makes his first appearance in New Teen Titans #2 (1980) (W: Marv Wolfman and George Perez, P: George Perez, I: Romeo Tanghal, C: Adrienne Roy, L: Ben Oda) where he is hired by H.I.V.E. to kill the Teen Titans. In the comics he's a major piece of shit, but a damn good assassin.
After the fight we see Supes clean up and he picks up a billboard that reads Amazotech.
This is a good reference to Professor Anthony Ivo, a mad scientist of the DC Universe who built the Amazo robot who could adapt and replicate any power that the Justice League has and weaknesses. Both Ivo and the Amazo robot make their first appearances here in Brave and the Bold #30 (1960) with the cover art done by Mike Sekowsky and Murphy Anderson.
At the end of the episode Slade name drops Task Force X better known as the Suicide Squad. The name "Suicide Squad" is from the Brave and the Bold #25 where it was the name of Rick Flag's unit in the military. The Suicide Squad pop culture knows first debuted in Legends #3 (1987) as seen below (W: John Ostrander and Len Wein, P: John Byrne, I: Karl Kesel, C: Tom Ziuko, L: Steve Haynie).
The team at this time was composed of Rick Flag, Bronze Tiger, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Enchantress, and Blockbuster. The team members have changed out with each new Task Force X/Suicide Squad iteration.
Behind Slade, here is Amanda Waller, the most fearsome woman in the DC universe. She's ruthless, politically powerful, and will not hesitate to blow up anyone in the Suicide Squad if they screw up. She makes her first appearance in Legends #1 (1987) same comic series in the previous picture. Very excited to see where My Adventures with Superman goes with this cuz you don't see Superman interact with Deathstroke or Suicide Squad all the often.

top 10 best hand-to-hand fighters in the DCU??
just wanna know ur opinions on this, it's really interesting to see the diff answers ppl give!
There's probably like hundreds and hundreds of characters I'm forgetting or are gaps in my knowledge because this is DC. Also not including Karate Kid because he's around centuries in the future and also that's basically cheating. -Cassandra Cain, (the only person alive who can somewhat consistently beat Shiva when they're both at their best. Name any martial artist in the DC universe and the odds are she's humiliated them. Like half of the shit she does in every single issue is flagrantly physically/biologically/logistically impossible) -Lady Shiva & Richard Dragon (it's established the two meet up to duel constantly and as of yet neither has definitively proven themselves superior so they share a spot) -White Canary (according to Dinah she's as good as if not better than Cass or Shiva but she does also back down from Shiva like a total wuss so that's probably a slight exaggeration, nonetheless she certainly proves herself to be in the same ballpark) -Strix (Shiva calls her one of the most impressive fighters she's ever seen and shall we say everything we see her do certainly backs up that assessment. Plus she has the same acrobat training as Nightwing) -Conner Hawke (He's basically only ever lost a fair fight to one of the above. He fought Shiva and gave almost as good as he got and even Cass concedes he's pretty good and if you know her she does not compliment lightly) -Bronze Tiger (can handily kick Batman's ass as well as basically everyone else in his league like Deathstroke, Black Canary, Catman etc, can at least hold his ground against the likes of the top 3) -Nightwing (he's usually held to be better than Bats and he's handled Deathstroke with relative ease a couple of times. Not to mention his absurd talent at acrobatics. I'd put him at the top of the A tier) -Deathstroke (we're really splitting hairs at this point but yeah, generally Slade's pretty much considered unstoppable by most people. There's a good reason the Bats' standard procedure when going up against him is to just pay him off) -Black Canary (really this spot could have gone to Batman or David Cain just as easily but in addition to being as good as those two Dinah has the best track record when it comes to being the underdog and winning through sheer grit and adaptability. I'd put my money on her scoring a surprise win against any of the heavy hitters on this list over those two)

Someone get me in at DC so I can write a Lady Shiva solo comic.
Lady Shiva solo featuring Dragon and Bronze Tiger and O Sensei maybe guest starring Vic and maybe Dinah and Ollie. Lady Shiva solo story where she goes looking for the best fighter on the planet and they keep eluding her. And it’s set in the seventies when she’s young like in the Soul of the Dragon movie except Batman isn’t allowed in this one. Shiva Dragon Tiger best friend adventuring.
DC please give them back to me
My idiots 💕

~ Batman: Knightfall
Oh my goddesses, they're all stupid.
Between Bruce putting a ton of make-up to look even more like himself, to trick his colleagues to think he is faking being himself, but still thinking they might understand he is Batman, and the other idiots falling for it but NOT thinking about Batman... I'm dying. Who the hell do they think can ask for a couple of Justice League members to show up to help, if it's not another one???
#batman#bruce wayne#oliver queen#green arrow#bronze tiger#Benjamin turner#alfred pennyworth#dc comics#my ramblings#knightfall#Bruce may have call people he trusts for help but he is not giving the secret identity like this#“Bruce Wayne doesn't wear makeup” low and behold he is caking his face right now#applying everything in the right order and correctly#but too much to the point that people think he's fake

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Elseworlds Addendum - Bronze Tiger
Ben Turner was a petty thief and gifted fighter who ventured to the far East to hone his skills as a martial artist. He was taken in by the O-Sensei who trained Turner alongside fellow pupil Richard Dragon. During this time, Turner took on the name ‘The Bronze Tiger.’ Following his training, The Tiger and Richard Dragon relocated to the United States and began working for a governmental anti-espionage organization.
Turner fell in love with a young woman and was engaged to be married; sadly his fiancé was murdered by an enemy agent. Embittered, Turner let in to his darker side and ended up recruited by The League of Assassins, becoming one of their most deadly operatives.
He was later arrested and forced to participate in the Task Force X program, joining The Suicide Squad. After a number of successful missions with the squad, Turner’s sentence was ultimately expunged. Thereafter The Bronze Tiger reformed and became a hero, serving as a member of Justice League Task Force.
Although The Bronze Tiger did not appear in the original DCAU, a version featured in the animated movie, Batman: Soul of the Dragon, where he was voiced by actor Michael Jai White. The hero first appeared in the pages of Richard Dragon: Kung Fu Fighter #1 (1975).

You think it's weird that Ben Turner, one of the greatest martial artists in the DC universe, a guy Batman knows better than to go fist to fist with got brought into a basement years ago and told to try and beat up a tiny 8 year old mute girl and she completely pushed his shit in and he apparently just never questioned it nor mentioned it to anyone in the years since?
