So I recently finished the Suicide Squad Ostrander Run. It was on my list for a while ago but decided to finally read it cause I wanted to read more about Captain Boomerang and I always like to start with the '87 retcons. I definitely wasnt prepared for his characterization there and won't talk about it here but- I think I now have a new guilty pleasure ship. And I just want to know if I'm the only one in this *ship* with me.

So Deadshot going with Boomerang to his mother's funeral was something. I, at first, thought about this ship lightly in the first issues because why was Lawton visiting Boomerang when he managed to be out of prison thanks to the SS missions he was in?

But the thing is that I was not prepared for what was going to happen after Boomerang's mother's funeral issue.

So basically Boomerang took too many drinks and they missed their airplane so now Deadshot's luggage got lost with his outfit and identity???? And he starts to hate on him so fucking much???

So I don't really have any screenshots of the issues but Deadshot starts threatening Boomerang for losing his luggage and Boomerang's just like "Jeez... I'll have to kill him I guess" and it really shouldnt be as funny as it is 😭😭? Because there's also this page when Deadshot has the opportunity to shot a guy that was fighting with Boomerang and he just decides to not help in the most goofy way possible.

After that Boomerang found his luggage (decided to do that instead of trying to kill him idk why) and gave it to him but Deadshot still hates him because he's a jerk in that run so yeah.

Idk I just think they should have a situationship. Unless you think I'm weird for seeking toxic yaoi whenever I go. Then in that case you didnt saw this post and you can judge me only if you do it in silence.

Also do they even have a ship name. How would that work? Boomershot? Idk. I just can't stop thinking about them and needed to share my current obsession with the world.

Captain Boomerang fan here. You are 1,000% percent right on Deadshot and Boomerang.

Though the 1987 Suicide Squad comic doesn't really characterize Boomerang very will because of... certain things... he's said throughout the run.

Oh for sure, for sure. Even as someone who doesn't like Captain Boomerang for personal reasons that have nothing to do with how he's written, Ostrander took his characterization a step too far. Great if you want to hate him! Not so great if you don't. I feel kind of sorry for Captain Boomerang fans, you guys don't seem to have a lot of good comics. And thank you I'm glad to hear my gaydar still works LMAO

Like... All I'm saying is where's all the love for just Digger? You see the tags, right? It's literally all just screenshots. Screenshots that have like... 12 fucking notes at best 0 at worst. And your fanart that's getting 36-112 goddamn notes. And counting cuz these were only posted a few hours ago. Yeah, y'all didn't have anything in like... April or whatever, but neither did we. You're working with character who get no attention in and out of canon. And I'm sorry that I'm tired of yearning for something for Captain Boomerang that isn't the writer's barely disguised scat fetish because that's the last time Captain Boomerang was really used for anything in canon.

Harkrill shippers really wanna be like, whoo is me. We're starving, and then refuse to acknowledge that there hasn't been solo Captain Boomerang content of Digger that isn't posted by the person who wants a little bit more solo content in almost 2 weeks. Like... Every time I checked the goddamn tags, unless I just posted, it's A) Something that's already been posted like 5 times now already, B) Harkrill or C) Owen Mercer.

I finished my Boomerang x Deadshot fic, though I'm still working on it and need to do a lot of editing, I hope I can publish it next week. it's smut, and has 4.200 words with an extra chapter. It also takes place in the Ostrander run (details will be revealed when I post the fic-) but I want to share this tiny fragment of the fic. I am sharing it because I don't know if I'm going to change it yet as I'm unsure about Boomerang's characterization or if it will be in the final result so enjoy it as a treat I guess lmao. Also you may find some mistakes as it's a draft.

“Don't worry, I'll take good care of you,” Deadshot says. Despite the fact that Lawton said that to calm Digger down, the villain is feeling more insecure than usual. He has never known how to handle sweet and kind words because, even though he always expects to receive them, reality always turns out to be very different from what he expects. When he is treated with such gentleness, his worst demons attack him, and he starts feeling that he doesn’t deserve this, that what he’s experiencing isn’t real, and that it makes no sense for someone to treat him this way when the world has only been cruel towards him, and his repetitive sociopathic behaviors are the result of that. What he hates the most is overthinking all of this when Deadshot is probably saying things to him that he has said to a hundred other people in the past, which makes him feel that he is not special—a fear that has followed him since he moved to America. But he finally decides to stop thinking about it and hugs Lawton's body again, while the other man is dying to get closer to him, and all Harkness wants now is for the man to do exactly that, to take away all the thoughts he doesn't want in his head with rough sex.

Floyd tries to scope out what lies at the end of the hallway using the gear built on his suit, but he can’t really see anything that stands out, which doesn’t match with the sound of gunfire he hears ahead.

Turning back and starting to debate whether to stay in the same spot or go outside to see if the team is fighting their target outside the building and if he can be of any help, a figure suddenly bursts out of the area he was watching. Lawton quickly aims with his scope until he realizes it’s Captain Boomerang.

“Digger?”

“Ah, mate, so ya were here!”

Floyd glanced down and noticed Harkness was bleeding from his torso while he was grabbing the wound with his hand.

“You’re hurt,” Lawton remarked. “Come here. I’ve got a first-aid kit with me.”

“Since when?” Boomerang asked as he lowered himself with difficulty, grimacing in pain.

“I know you can’t avoid it, but try not to ask stupid questions.”

Despite his struggle, Harkness managed to lie down on the ground, and Floyd moved Digger’s coat aside and lifted his shirt to reveal what appeared to be the result of a stab wound that had been bleeding for a while.

“Did you really think you’d survive with this wound?” Lawton asked while pulling out bandages and tools to disinfect the injury from the first-aid kit he had placed beside him.

“I’ve been through worse,” Harkness replies, trying to play it cool, but the pained groan he lets out as Floyd pours alcohol on his wound immediately show his true face. “You could’ve counted to three!”

“It would’ve been worse,” Floyd replies indifferently, though he allows himself to have a tiny smile in his face at the man’s reaction. Even so, he cleans the wound gently. “Relax, it’ll only take a moment.”

Next, Lawton grabs a long bandage, threading it around Digger’s back and pulling the ends together in front of the wound. Digger bites his lip, watching Floyd’s movements anxiously, bracing himself for the worst, and throws his head back as Floyd ties a knot over the stab wound.

“Bloody hell! Where did ya get yer license?”

“Hey, don’t complain. You have no idea how many times I’ve had to do this to myself.”

“And yer still alive?”

Lawton glances briefly at Digger but lowers his gaze as he finishes tying the knot. Digger lets out another yell, but it’s the last one before Floyd pulls his shirt back down.

“That’s everything. I don’t have anything for the pain, by the way,” Lawton says, lifting his eyes to meet Harkness’s, only to scowl as he notices the grin spreading across Boomerang’s face.

“God… What’s wrong with you?”

“Ya saved me.”

“Don’t be so dramatic.”

“Mmmm…” Digger murmurs, and slowly, despite his wound and the fact he shouldn’t be moving much, he leans toward Lawton, with that stupid grin still on his face. Floyd glares at him, but his expression shifts to astonishment when Harkness plants a kiss on his cheek.

“That means ya care about me.”

“Shut up!” Lawton shouts, frowning at him, but Digger’s smile doesn’t disappear.

“You being so mad ‘bout it only proves my point, Floyd.”

Okay so don't mind me but this is just a quick rant about my fanfics and it's 4AM so if you see any grammar mistakes i'm sorry!!

The thing is that I started writing a Captain Cold x Captain Boomerang fanfic mainly because 1. I fucking love weird pairings and starting ship tags on Ao3 2. They both have "captain" in their name and were on the same teams TWICE!!! and I think that's funny 3. It's a smut and I may be sex-repulsed but it's just easy to write rarepair when it's a smut idk why.

And I recently finished the one-shot, nothing too large just a 2.000 word fic that still needs a lot of editing but I'm finally done with it but!!! I started this the past week, didnt had time to write about it and I was kinda stressed about that because I can write a lot of words in little time but I did not had the opportunity this time. And it wouldnt piss me off so bad if I also didnt had this Deadshot x Captain Boomerang fic idea as well!!!

Because I spent ALL this week thinking about my Deadshot x Captain Boomerang fic idea while I had my Captain Cold x Captain Boomerang fic looking directly into my soul whenever I opened Word because I already had everything structured and I just needed to write it. It certainly didnt help that I need to write for the riddlebird week and that I have like 4 coldwave fics in the oven. Idk I'm just a mess with my fanfics and if you can't tell yes I have ADHD!!!! Thank you for listening to my rant, now I hope I can post my Captain Cold x Captain Boomerang fic and start writing my Deadshot x Captain Boomerang one-shot and pray that I do not have more fic ideas because I really need to finish a lot of ideas and drabbles rn. Good night I guess!!
