Trying to kill off some time before hockey starts and figured I'd borrow something I saw on fb, so have my FAVORITE PLAYER THAT EVER PLAYED IN EACH FRANCHISE (brought to you by someone who got very indignant when they found out who my fave Sabre was 😂😂😂) (also Gretzky is exempt from this because Gretzky)

Calgary Flames: Matthew Tkachuk (Yes, I know, Ignilia, blah blah blah, but listen I didn't care about hockey when he was there and still good at hockey, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Carolina Hurricanes: Jordan Staal (and it's not even close)
Chicago Blackhawks: Brent Seabrook (every day of the week and twice on Sunday, one of the best d-men in franchise history and you can catch these hands if you disagree)
Colorado Avalanche: Max Talbot (❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤)
Columbus Blue Jackets: I mean, Pierre-Luc Dubois? I guess?
Dallas Stars: Patrick Sharp (I almost went with Jordie Benn but even I can only troll so much)
Detroit Red Wings: Pavel Datsyuk (who else would it be? come on now)
Florida Panthers: Brian Campbell (listen I don't watch them very much ok)
Edmonton Oilers: Connor McDavid (at least until someone rescues him)
LA Kings: Mike Richards (fuck you Lombardi, you douche)
Minnesota Wild: Brent Burns (sorry for poking old wounds wild fans)
Montreal Canadiens: Patrick Roy (so hot why is he like that second best goalie in hockey history)
Nashville Predators: PK Subban (listen I had to pick somebody and I know nothing of them from before 2014)

Star Wars Day- A Memorial
Happy National Star Wars Day, everyone!
Last year, I commemorated this day by beginning a 14 week-long project, in which I reviewed all existing Star Wars movies. Of course, since Episode 9- Rise of Skywalker won’t be out until December, it will be a while longer before I can review that one.
So this year, I decided to take a moment to look back and remember all the Star Wars cast and crew we have lost throughout the years. Because without their time and talent, the timeless saga might never have become the phenomenon it has become.

Typography Tuesday
As mentioned in an earlier post, the 2017 Hamilton Wayzgoose (a traditional, annual gathering of printers and designers), hosted by the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, was held November 3-5. Peter and Donna Thomas, who had just spent a few days hear at UWM Special Collections the week before (giving presentations and workshops) led two hands-on printing workshops at the Waysgoose on “Wood Type as Illustration.” This portfolio, Beast and Bug, is the product of that workshop. The portfolio is signed by Peter and Donna, and almost every print is signed by the participants who made them (click on the image to view who made what).
We are currently in the final editing stages of producing the bibliography/catalog, Peter and Donna Thomas: The Work of 40 Years. We also produced a 40-year retrospective exhibition of Peter and Donna’s work and are in the process of completing a permanent online exhibition to go live in December. Peter produced a quick video of our exhibition with running commentary. You can check that out here. Peter and Donna also posted a blog about their time at the Wayzgoose and their time spent at UW-Milwaukee. It was such a pleasure to have them here!

[TASK 054: THE ANISHINAABE]
Shout out to @olivaraofrph for inspiring and helping compile this task! There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 100+ Anishinaabe faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. While often used as synonymous to 'Ojibwe', 'Anishinaabe' refers to six culturally and linguistically similar Native American/Canadian tribes: the Ojibwe, Ottawa, Potawatomi, Chippewa Cree, Mississauga, and Algonquin. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK - examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite Anishinaabe faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by a Anishinaabe artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on Anishinaabe culture and customs.
Screencaps
RP icons [of all sizes]
Gif Pack [maybe gif icons if you wish]
PNG packs
Manips
Dash Icons
Character Aesthetics
PSD’s
XCF’s
Graphic Templates - can be chara header, promo, border or background PSD’s!
FC Masterlists - underused, with resources, without resources!
FC Help - could be related, family templates, alternatives.
Written Guides.
and whatever else you can think of / make!

Patience quotes
Patience and time do more than strength or passion.--Jean de LaFontaine
Patience asks us to live the moment to the fullest, to be completely present to the moment, to taste the here and now, to be where we are.--Henri Nouwen (Bread For the Journey)
Patience can't be acquired overnight. It is just like building up a muscle. Every day you need to work on it.--Eknath Easwaran
Patience has its limits. Take it too far, and it's cowardice.--George Jackson
Patience is not just about waiting for something… it’s about how you wait, or your attitude while waiting.--Joyce Meyer
Patience is power. Patience is not an absence of action; rather it is "timing;" it waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way.--Fulton J. Sheen
