Dustin Gibson argues that "race and disability were pathologized in a way that we can't separate them now.... I think we can't literally talk about ableism without talking about racism"; therefore, he continues, "I don't think that there's such thing as anti-Black ableism ... ableism is inherently anti-Black.”

Patrick Cokley similarly explains that in some regards "ableism is very much one and the same with racism because what we're really talking about is who has agency in our culture."

The relationship between racism and ableism (and other systems of op-pression) is most expansively articulated by TL Lewis, whom I quote at length in order to make clear not merely how Lewis and other Black disabled activists and cultural workers understand the relationships between these systems conceptually but also how this intersectional understanding shapes political approaches to social change. Lewis states:

I always chuckle about this because my brain doesn't disconnect them. There is no racism without ableism. There is no ableism without racism... you quite literally can't have one without the other.... There is a fundamental lack of understanding of the connections between racism and ableism, classism, and other structural and systemic oppressions that is killing us because if we understood those things—how they are connected, how there's an unbroken chain between asylums, plantations, zoos, circuses, and prisons—then we would be able to actually fight all of those things collectively and very differently.... [If we did make those connections,] then we would be able to have a much more holistic understanding of what is going on in our society but also a much stronger framework from which to unearth the histories... these collective histories and then dismantle the system—all of these systems....So long as we continue to allow people to think that it is just one or the other, we are going to keep spinning our wheels and not being able to identify the cause of the harm, which is all of these systems operating simultaneously.

Okay, so Twisters came out this weekend, which means I had to watch Twister again, and I really need to gush about this movie.

Twister is one of two disaster movies that I can watch repeatedly without it getting old (Armageddon is my other favorite). And part of it is because of the characters.

Jo, Bill, and Melissa aside; who were all magnificent characters, I adored Jo’s team just as much!!!

Tim ‘Beltzer’ Lewis came off like Jo’s second in command. Usually when Jo went off ahead and the group stopped to gather data, Beltzer seemed to take charge. He was usually one of the first people Jo called for and would be the first to start giving orders. Beltzer is a bit of a nerd, having quoted Star Wars in his excitement when he thought they were going to get ‘Dorthy’ up. He also a bit of a goof, saying ‘he was without apparel’ when Bill kept insisting he wasn’t butt naked when they met. It is also clear Beltzer has been doing this for a while because he was part of the retelling of stories from the early days along with Dustin and Rabbit.

Haynes travels a little with Beltzer for the first half of the movie. The two have a close relationship as they are usually together in scenes. Beltzer physically moves Haynes away to give Jo and Bill space in the beginning and even holds Haynes to give her comfort when Aunt Meg got hurt. The two also sing Oklahoma together when everyone was excitedly chasing after the first tornado of the day. Haynes for her part seems to be one of the data technicians. She helps monitor the data reports and she knows what she is looking at, being the one to identify that the F5 tornado at the end of the movie was going to shift before anyone else did. She is also usually handling data print outs.

In the next vehicle you got Robert ‘Rabbit’ Nurick. Rabbit is a pretty heavily featured character and part of that is because he is the primary navigator of the group. The cab of Rabbit and Sanders’ truck is full of maps which Rabbit uses to help find the fastest and most efficient ways for the group to chase the tornado. Rabbit has to know the area well, has to fully understand how to read maps, and how to quickly adapt. Rabbit is also particular. His first scene is him snapping at Sanders due to one of his maps being folded instead of rolled. He also tries to sooth others, explaining very patiently to Aunt Meg that she can’t drive herself to the hospital due to her car being in a tree.

Rabbit rides is a car with Sanders. Sanders is one of the younger members of the group. He is still pretty excitable, being one of the people to chime in over the radio when they were looking at a tornado and having nothing useful to really add except that it was ‘beautiful’. Sanders also helps with data analysis and navigation.

The next vehicle is probably the most green members of the group. Joey and Laurence. Both of them know Bill, so they were there when Bill was earlier, but they are more inexperienced than the rest of the team. Laurence was probably on his first major field project. Jo had scolded him at the beginning for not properly maintaining the equipment and he referred to Beltzer as ‘Sir’. He is only one to suggest they throw in the towel after the first close call and when they are taking cover in the drive in, Laurence was the only person to try to hide in a car instead of underground. He also froze in fear and Jo had to pull him out. So he likely hasn’t done this before. Joey in addition was a little inexperienced but he and Laurence were monitoring the satellite data. Joey is also a little looser in his priorities. When the others are excited about the data they were getting from ‘Dorthy’ finally flying, Joey yells ‘we are going to be so popular!’

The two also appear to be close. Not only are they in a truck together but at the end of the movie when Laurence collapses on the ground in relief, Joey immediately starts playing rock-paper-scissors with him until Dusty interrupts and Laurence then clings to Dustin’s leg. They are younger, more playful, and Dusty clearly enjoys that.

Speaking of Dusty, let’s talk about Dustin Davis. Dustin is probably the most goofy one, and the craziest after Jo and Bill. However unlike those two, he doesn’t have a death wish either. Dustin is one of the older and more experienced members of the team. He knows a lot about tornadoes but he’s very unorthodox. He knows the principles and the concepts but he has no patience for the scientific terms so he makes up his own that make sense to him. He is also the most outgoing of the group, going out of his way to look after Melissa and try to make her feel welcome to the group. He keeps the rest of the team smiling.

Then we have Jason ‘Preacher’ Rowe. Preacher is another older more experienced member. He seems to be in the middle of experiences, with Dusty, Rabbit, Haynes, and Beltzer on one side with Sanders, Laurence, and Joey on the other. He likes upbeat music and judging from his name and his ‘finger of god’ comment, he was likely religious.

The entire team are very intelligent individuals. They are working hard on their research project, something they are on one of their last field projects for if they don’t get results judging from Dusty’s comment about the grant money running out at the beginning. They are all adrenaline junkies for the most part (minus Laurence) but they aren’t crazy either. The entire team shows they know when to have fun and when to get serious. They know when the danger is too much and when the risks are not worth the potential rewards.

They are also a very ride or die team. Jonas was portrayed to be an enemy of Bill’s. According to Bill; he, Jo, and Jonas started in the same lab together (it’s quite possible that Jonas was part of Jo’s group when they met Bill and eventually Jonas split off to do his own thing). Jo mentions that Jonas would let Bill take the lead and then swoop in and take his ideas or the credit. It has created a huge rivalry between Jonas and Bill, which Jo’s team clearly takes Bill’s side on. Jonas doesn’t once acknowledge the others but they are quick to make fun of Jonas and his team.

The entire team also adores Jo’s Aunt Meg. Aunt Meg is the team aunt. They all adore her and she loves them. She knows this is what they ‘live for’, so she uses her home as a rest stop for them. A place where they can recharge and regroup. They come by for showers, changes of clothes, food, and momentary rest. She cares for them all and they care about her. Knowing she was in danger, the entire team rushes out to find her without a moment of hesitation. They all try to make Meg feel better and even look after her dog while she is in the hospital.

I honestly always loved this movie because of the chemistry with all the characters, how they interact, and how they all weave through the story.

I will probably watch it again soon, but I just wanted to gush about how much I adore these characters!!!!

Thinking about a Ghostbusters AU AGAIN.

Mike’s got that autistic rizz. He collects molds, spores, and fungus, he wears those signature Spengler glasses paired with some sweater vests and bow ties. He’s nerdy and weird, and when El comes on as their receptionist and tries to flirt with him, he brushes her off and changes the subject. He makes dumb science jokes that nobody laughs at (except Will), and he laughs obnoxiously with one of those breathy, snorting laughs.

Will is his partner in crime. They both come running when there’s sign of paranormal activity, equipped with their homemade devices and their blinky lights. Will appears more normal- he’s attractive, he’s nice, he’s quiet- but he’s insufferable once you get to know him. He’ll talk for hours about the things that pique his interest, and he’s blunt. If he thinks someone’s an asshole, he’ll say so. He and Mike tend to have conversations nobody else can really understand, throwing around big words and munching on cheap takeout on the crummy old couch in the firehouse. (Sometimes, when Lucas is unlucky, he walks in on them munching on each other’s faces as well.)

Lucas is arguably the most “normal” of all of them. He’s personable, he’s charming. He actually does flirt with girls, which doesn’t go well for him because a lot of the ones they run into are more interested in Mike or Will. He’s a little bit of an asshole (who can blame him? He spends all his time getting dragged around by two nerds on a ghost chase), but he’s also their people guy. Once they start getting business, he’s the one making house calls and going on talk shows.

Just thinking about their first successful bust. Lucas, covered in slime and miserably wiping it from his face. Will is absolutely losing his shit and jumping up and down. Mike pushes his goggles up out of his eyes, and he has that darkened smudge over his face that leaves him looking like a raccoon. His hair is all standing on end, and he’s holding the trap up, watching it smoke and pop. Will bounces his way over, giddily watching the trap swing back and forth, and then he’s grabbing Mike’s face and pressing a kiss to his cheek, unfazed by the grime.

Mike holds the trap out of the way and hooks an arm around Will’s waist to pull him in for a proper kiss, and Lucas rolls his eyes, shaking the goop off his hands and letting it splatter onto the floor.

“I’m all good, thanks for asking.”

✦ Backstory ✦ Originally from Chicago, Win lost her mother, Ellery, as a teenager, leaving her lost and embittered. Not long after her mother’s passing, unable to process his own grief, her father, David, threw himself into his work, spending long hours away from home and leaving Win unsupervised most of the time. In an attempt to ignore her predicament and fill the void inside her, Win similarly found things to distract herself, mostly vandalism and sex.

At the beginning of her senior year, Win's father was offered a job at Hawkins Lab and he accepted, relocating the two of them to the rural town, hoping the change of scenery would be good for her, and Win was quickly branded as the popular new girl. İslam Konferansı Örgütü'nün (OIC) 57 üyesi vardır ve ülkelerin tümünde sadece 500 adet üniversite bulunmaktadır. Yani üniversite başına 3 milyon Müslüman düşmektedir. Başka bir deyişle 3 milyon kişi için bir üniversite yapılmıştır. Bunların kalitesi de başka bir sorundur.

Fakat sadece ABD'de 5 bin 758 adet üniversite vardır.

Shanghai Jiao Tong Üniversitesi tarafından 2004 yılında hazırlanan “Dünya Üniversitelerinin Akademik Değer Listesi”ne Müslüman çoğunluğa sahip ülkelerin hiçbirinden ilk 500’e giren tek bir üniversite yoktu.

UNDP tarafından toplanan verilere göre Hıristiyan Dünyasında okuma yazma bilenlerin oranı

% 89’dur. Bunların %98’i ise en az ilkokul mezundur ve 100 kişiden 40’ı üniversite mezunudur.

15 Hıristiyan çoğunluğa sahip ülkedeki okuma yazma oran ise %100’dür, yani bu 15 ülkede okuma, yazması olmayan tek kişiye rastlamak olası değildir.

Müslüman ülkelerde durum bunun tersidir: 100 kişiden sadece 40’ı okuma yazma bilir ve herkesin okur yazar olduğu bir tek Müslüman ülke bulunmamaktadır!

Bunların %50’si ilkokulu, yalnızca %2’si üniversiteyi bitirmiştir.

BİLİM İNSANLARININ ORANLARI DA ÇOK DÜŞÜK

ABD’de toplam bilim insanı sayısı 4.000, Japonya’da 5.000’dir. 57 Müslüman çoğunluğa sahip ülkelerdeki toplam bilim adamı sayısı ise sadece 230 kişidir.

Akademisyenlerin hepsi bilim insanı değildir. Bilim insanı demek, pozitif bilimlerle aktif olarak uğraşan kişi demektir. Her 1 milyon Müslüman kişiye yalnızca 1 bilim insanı düşmektedir.

Teknisyenler bakımından Müslüman çoğunluklu Arap ülkelerdeki durum daha da kötüdür.

Her 1 milyon Müslüman Arap nüfus içinde 50 teknisyen bulunmaktadır. Hıristiyan dünyasında ise her bir milyon kişi içinde 1000 teknisyen bulunmaktadır.

NEDEN?..

YANIT: Kalitesiz, ezberci eğitim ve ARGE’ye araştırma geliştirmeye yeterli kaynak ayrılmaması.

Çünkü Müslümanlar gayri safi milli gelirin yalnızca % 0,2’sini araştırma, geliştirme bütçesi olarak ayırıyor.

Buna karşın Hıristiyan dünyası araştırma, geliştirmeye % 5 oranında, yani 25 kat daha fazla fon ayırmaktadır.

SONUÇ

İslam dünyası yeni bilgi üretebilecek kapasiteden yoksundur. Ayrıca dünyanın ürettiği bilgiyi kendi halklarına öğretmekte de başarısızdır. Bunun kanıtı ise ileri teknoloji ihracat rakamlarında saklıdır:

~Pakistan’ın ileri teknoloji ihracatının toplam ihracatın içindeki oran %1’dir.

Candace Coleman elaborates on the value of disability identity, arguing that, politically speaking, if a person doesn't identify as disabled, then it is harder for them to be counted and have their particular concerns incorporated into disability policies that impact them. Further, Coleman explains that embracing a disability identity can be "freeing" for people because they feel less alone, "have a sense of community to know some things that they were dealing with ... [were not] just their own experience," and consequently get less stuck and tripped up on these various systems that oppress us the most." Coleman asserts that "when you really are a powerful being who recognizes your disability identity and your cultural identity and [are able to just be yourself... that's very empowering to me, and I feel like you could take over any role, any anything you want to do." TL Lewis similarly embraces "being bold about the fact that we identify as disabled— and no, we might not have a formal diagnosis, but guess what, we out here... you can still identify as politically disabled [without a diagnosis], and you'll be more powerful for it... So I feel like [disability identity,] it's a way of just saying, I see you and being seen, having needs met, and then moving forward together… it's literally in our marrow. It’s in our bones. It's what has held and kept my ancestors. We couldn't have gotten through all that we've gotten through without disability." For Black disability political work today, there is clear value in disability identity for being “able to find our people” and “have some type of common language,” as Dustin Gibson puts it. At the same time, Gibson and others insist that claiming disability identity is not the most important thing in Back disability politics for two reasons: first, the way disability has typically been used and defined does not align with the experiences and need of Black people; and, second, the goal is ultimately to provide bodymind liberation, safety, and care for everyone regardless of identity.

incredibly hot (well, maybe not amongst Jeremy fans but OH WELL lemme preach to the choir) take but: i find the way Jeremy is talked about his ex Succession co-stars these days so very obnoxious. Why should we or anyone care about his "method"? I watch him act fantastically on my tv screen, that alone is a joy for me, and his interviews show he cares a lot about his craft. To be too cool for school and shrug everything off is also its own method actors go about what they do - and lemme tell you, I find that so much more embarrassing than someone who might use flowery language, quote European intellectuals, and perhaps do like hearing themselves talk - the latter is pretty universal.

As a whole, idc if an actor is annoying in that sense, because I don't have to coexist with them (besides, I do know people who are indeed annoying in that way - some of them are my friends). Do they entertain me, cause me to feel emotion, will I be in awe when watching them work? If the answer to all of that is yes, then I like the actor. As long as they're not confirmed to be harrassing their castmates (or anyone at all), a creep who endangers them, or a genuine bigot, I truly DGAF. Unlike Brian Cox, apparently, who openly backs actors known to be domestic abusers and/or rapists. Kieran's cheap shots also didn't exactly endear me to him - even though I think he's a great actor and I will see A Real Pain when it comes out in theatres here. But hm, let's just say that I am actively rooting for him to lose when he goes up against Jeremy in the Best Supporting Actor category and to also lose as Best Leading Actor if he ends up in that category when Jeremy loses in Best Supporting.

For me one thing is true - when I watched second season of Succession, there was something in Kendall that tore me apart. I really felt his emotions and I haven't experienced that ever before watching TV show. It was so surprising, but also excilariting. Someone my age suddenly being floored by watching some rich guy mope around.

And then, later, I learned how Jeremy Strong has approached creating Kendall's character. It became clear to me that the realness of the emotions came from a very deep place of the actor, the person. To think that someone was ready to go that far for the role (he said it led him to some very dark places and that he has lost feeling of joy) makes you look at the whole craft differently.

I love how serious and thoughtful he is in describing his work, it's something so rare these days. Jeremy always says that you need to be brave and do things that scare you, and that's how he lives, and it's very inspiring.

I also agree that Kieran acts like he's just a guy who comes to do "whatever", and it's actually ironic, because from what he describes he does a lot of things similarly to Jeremy - he didn't want to rehearse in A Real Pain and he mentions that he let the Benji character act out, like he didn't know what would happen, how he would behave. That's exactly what Jeremy did while filming Succession.

It's clear that someone's process might be difficult for other actors, but from what I gather, Jeremy mostly kept to himself and was isolating, so I don't think it was such a big burden for them, other than a fact that it probably created tensed atmosphere, but on the other hand - Kieran and Sarah are best buds (she's a godmother of one of his kids) and Brian talks fondly of both of them, so they're good. The only one left out is Jeremy (not counting Alan Ruck, sorry Con), that's the choice he made and he seems to accept it.

For me the best proof of Jeremy's grace and thoughtfulness is the fact that he never reacted to Brian Cox's cheap shots; he literally said that he admires him when asked about his comments.

As to the awards, I watched A Real Pain and it's a good movie, but as a Succession freak I must say that Kieran performed Benji character in a very similar way to how he portrayed Roman, this guy is just more open about his feelings. I'm surprised it wasn't noted in any reviews, but maybe it's just me. I think Kieran might win with Jeremy because he's more liked in the industry, but for me, trying to be as objective as I can, the performance of Jeremy in 'The Apprentice' is just leaps and bounds superior to that of Kieran's in 'A Real Pain'.

You sprint your way up to Nancy until Eddie snatched your whole body away from the road when you heard the tires screeching next to you, Steve almost run you down that made you and Eddie fell down on the ground

"Oh my fucking god, are you two alright?" Steve exclaims as he gets out of his car and the rest as well

"Yeah, man, I'm good, Y/N-" Eddie grunts and you swore to himself that he heard you whimpered slightly when he carefully moves your legs aside but you still force yourself up to stand

When you get up you almost fall back down again but Steve catches you by the arms

"What's the rush?" Steve already had an idea that you're the mystery girl that Dustin and Max just told him earlier at the car

You tried to get away from Steve but he holds you in place, you called out to Nancy where she followed your voice and finally saw you and everyone

"Dude!" Eddie exclaims as he holds his hands up

"Come on" Steve muttered under his breath as they all followed you

"Nancy!"

She looked at you in confusion and the people behind your shoulder

"I-I don't know- I told him to wait for me in the car and the next thing I know he's not there anymore- he could be in the woods?"

Your eyes are now watery, she saw the worried look on them as you brush past her

When Nancy yells the song to you, you placed the wired earphones to him as you wished that you could still save him

You wished that there's still more time, you know there might be 1% chance when he's already levitating above the air

"Fred! I know you can hear me, it's not your fault that you and your classmate got into an car accident, it was never your fault, it was an accident" you say as you look up to him hoping that you can also save him like you did to Chrissy

The moment he felt your warmth beneath your touch, he knew that you're real that he's not in the other side of the world anymore as he throw his arms around you

He starts crying as you rubbed his back, you sadly smile that you saved someone again as you exhaled deeply

He doesn't know where he's friends are, he must find the nearest payphone, he needs to contact them as soon as possible

He just can't believe that Jason will do such a thing, he is now regretting leaving his friends behind, he is ready to explain everything to them

He doesn't even care at this point if they don't understand him but at least he has got to say his piece

He knows that Eddie and Jason are two different people with different interest and social cliques

Eddie can be a lot of things but Jason? spreading lies without proof is clearly inhumane thing to do and it's insane

It's every fiber of his being the urge to stop him but what can he do? when he might end up in a freaking ditch? so, the only option is to lie to them

"Sinclair? Dude, you sound awful-" Steve answers and picks up the phone and Lucas can already the worried look on his face as he can sense the concern at the tone of his voice

"is Dustin with you? Give the phone to Dustin, I need to talk to him" he pants and wipes the build up perspiration on his forehead

"Oh, he's right here-" Lucas heard the rustling cord over the receiver and hears his friend's voice muttering the words to Steve "Is that Lucas? Hand me that phone-" "Hey watch it, Henderson"

"Hey, are you going to tell us your spectacular bonding with your varsity friends?"

He huffs, "I'm not going to argue with you, Dustin-"

"Where were you? Have you seen the news-"

"God! Just listen to me!" He exclaims in frustration as Dustin can hear the way Lucas slam his hand at a surface

There's a beat of silence as Dustin squeezes his eyes shut as he begrudgingly, "Fine" he says through gritted teeth

"It's about Jason and I think Eddie's life is in danger"

"Say no more, you have a lot of catch up to do, where are you?"

OK have you ever watched Hot Ones with Sean Evens (first we feast is the youtube channel) so basically that but Steve is the one being interviewed but he LOVES spicy food??(watch the episode with Florence Pugh i LOVE it but basically I want it to be kinda like that) just yeah that. MY LOVE ❤️ I admit, most of what I watch of really anything is either highlights on Tik Tok or short clips my friends send me because I am out of touch with the cool kids. But Hot Ones is SO GOOD. The Lewis Capaldi episode (I do love him anyways) had me actually almost pee my pants laughing. I hope you love this fun (short, sorry) thing for this! - Mickala ❤️

“I just don’t know why you got Hot Ones. They could have had the whole band on there making idiots of themselves,” Eddie pouted.

He’d been pouting for two days now.

In fact, his entire band was from the moment Steve called him on tour to let him know that he would be doing the Hot Ones interview next week.

“I told you, they had a last minute cancellation and my schedule just worked. Maybe you’ll get next season,” Steve said over the phone as the oven timer went off to let him know his brownies were done cooking.

“Whatcha makin’ Stevie?” Eddie’s curiosity was adorable.

He was in London, just got off stage from their last show in Europe. Steve was in their home in LA, having the last lazy day in before his awards season started.

“If I tell you, you’ll be sad you’re missing it.”

“Tell us! Tell us!” Gareth said from much closer than Steve would have expected.

“Hi Gare Bear. No personal space tonight?”

Eddie laughed as Steve pulled the brownies out of the oven and shut it off.

“He said personal space is for people who don’t like each other and he likes me very much,” Steve could hear Eddie’s eye roll in his voice. “A shame because I can’t stand him.”

“Play nice boys. You’ll be home in less than 24 hours,” Steve reminded them.

Gareth lived a mile up the road from them with his boyfriend and their excessive amount of cats.

Excessive being four.

Steve was allergic, so any amount of cats seemed excessive to him.

But Steve and Gareth were close, had been since even before Eddie and Steve started dating.

He was Steve’s best man in their wedding, much to Dustin’s bafflement. He only didn’t argue because Eddie softened the blow by asking him to be his own best man.

Usually if baked goods or a home cooked meal were involved, Gareth would show up at their door ready to partake.

“You’ll be home when I get there?”

“Yep. Cleared my whole day just for you, baby.”

“Good. Miss you.

“Miss you too. You heading to bed?” Steve poked at the brownies, making sure they were cooked.

“Yeah, I’m beat.” Eddie yawned to emphasize how exhausted he was. “Did your manager tell them you love spicy foods or are you just gonna let them assume you’re a wimp?”

“Nah. It’ll be fun.”

When he arrives on the set of Hot Ones, Sean greets him with a smile and a handshake.

Eddie wasn’t able to come with him, but Robin had promised to record the whole thing just for them.

She watched from the side next to his manager, Nancy, and his bodyguard, Hopper.

They settled at the table, got mic’d up, makeup touched up, and Sean reminded him that if he absolutely had to tap out, they could stop recording and edit everything accordingly to make it look like he made it through the challenge.

Steve wasn’t worried.

The first three wings didn’t even have a kick. It was just a casual conversation between friends.

He talked about his work with a theater group for kids in New York City, as well as his work on an indie film that was coming out in the fall.

The fourth and fifth wings had a pinch of spice to them, but nothing to make even bat an eye.

Sean continued asking questions, Steve continued answering them.

On the seventh wing, Steve was barely distracted from the question: “What project of yours are you most looking forward to doing next?”

“I think I’ll be most excited to take some time off with my husband, working on starting the family we’ve wanted for a while. He’s been on tour for most of the last year, and we agreed it was a good time to figure out what we wanna do,” Steve said as he took another bite.

He could feel the burn of this one at least, felt the sting on his lips and tongue.

But it was very manageable, and the jalapeno flavor was almost refreshing. It tasted fresh.

“Okay, I have to ask: did you practice these beforehand?”

Steve snorted.

“No. I’m just not very sensitive to spicy foods. I usually keep a lot of hot sauces in my house. Poor Eddie’s learned how to tolerate spice because of it,” Steve said as they brought out the eighth wing.

“I’ve never had anyone so calm at this point. I’m starting to think even the hottest one won’t really bother you!”

“I guess we’ll see!”

The ninth wing was hot. He wouldn’t try to deny it.

“It does have a lovely watermelon flavor to it, very fruity and tangy on top of the spice. I like it,” Steve smiled.

He knew his face was getting a bit red from this one, and he reached for the water, but only had to take a couple of small sips before he was ready to keep going.

“Alright, for this one, we’ll ask a question for you to answer before and then we’ll have one for right after. You ready?”

“Bring it on!”

And it definitely did.

It was hot, and he could feel tears in his eyes, and sweat breaking out across his forehead.

“Finally, we have a reaction!” Sean exclaimed.

“This one’s definitely a lot more than the others,” Steve added, reaching for the milk.

He could tell Robin and Nancy were laughing, probably very much enjoying any amount of pain he managed to have when he went into this so sure that none of them would get to him.

“Final question: Would you ever consider retiring to follow Eddie on tour with your future family?”

Steve nodded once, taking another sip of the milk.

God, this one was hot.

“Uh, yep. I mean, retiring is a strong word. I would definitely take a long break. I’ve always wanted a family,” he stopped to take another sip and a bite of the celery. “I’ve wanted to be a dad for as long as I can remember. And I know Eddie wants that, but he also doesn’t wanna stop making music, and the rest of his band isn’t ready to take a break like that. I know it would be easy for me, so my plan would be to take at least a few years off.”

“Doing alright over there?”

Steve laughed, fanning his face.

“I’m okay. That just went from a kick to a beatdown pretty quick.”

“Well, you’re a pro at making it look easy. You deserve an Oscar for this performance!”

It was a ridiculous sentiment, but funny, and Steve was up for an Oscar this year.

He finished the glass of milk and shook Sean’s hand, thanking him for having him.

“Eddie is already in tears watching Sean watch you in disbelief,” Robin started as soon as he joined them again.

“What was all that at the end?” Nancy asked, arms crossed, face furious.

He usually had free reign in interviews, but he knew Nancy would tell him not to mention anything even slightly related to retirement.

His career had really only just taken off a couple years earlier, and talking about a break or retiring now would immediately cut his chances of good roles in half.

“Just the truth, Nance. You know Eddie and I wanna start a family,” he said as they started walking through the backstage area to leave.

“I just didn’t know that meant taking a break. I thought you’d just take turns with stuff or hire a nanny.”

Steve knew that worked for a lot of couples, but they both were too family-focused for that. They didn’t want a nanny raising their kids.

“Why are you freaking out?”

“I’m not! I just would’ve liked a heads up.”

Robin stared between them, eyes bouncing back and forth like it was a tennis match.

“I don’t have to tell you every single detail of my life. You know all that’s relevant right now.”

Nancy sighed, but nodded, turning away and typing furiously on her phone.

His phone rang seconds later.

“Sweetheart, let me just say: it is so sexy how you handle those hot sauces,” Eddie’s teasing voice was enough to get him back into a happy mood.

“Your standards for sexy are so low,” Steve said as he walked to the corner to get as much privacy as possible.

“No, it’s just that everything you do is sexy.”

“You’re ridiculous.”

“But I’m yours.”

“And I’m yours.”

“Steve!” Sean’s voice came from behind him, large smile lighting up his face. “Sorry to bother you, but would Eddie and the guys like to come on the show as our bonus episode this season?”

Eddie was screaming yes through the phone, much to their amusement.

“So…yes?” Sean asked.

“Yes!” Eddie yelled.

Sean walked away to update the producer while Steve kept talking to Eddie.

“See? Now you’ll get your show, too.”

“Yeah, yeah.”
