Let's start with the writing. The pining in this fic is E X Q U I S I T E. Just. Absolutely fucking gorgeous. It's honestly kind of immersive; I find myself pining for Harry vicariously through Draco. It's impossible not to fall in love with Harry, and Draco too, and the way they come together is just so satisfying. Reading this fic is like eating a dark chocolate lava cake by slowly working your way in; the first few bites are rich and slightly bittersweet, but when you reach the melty, gooey center—it's decadent.

Then when you're done reading, and you think the moment can't get any better, you scroll down a little further and see Boo's fantastic art. Yall. I see this art and it's so sweet and intimate I feel a little like I'm intruding. They're so peaceful together, wrapped in each other's arms. Ali's vivid description is more than enough to put the image, and the emotion, in your head; but Boo's art is the perfect addition to do Ali's words justice. I cannot recommend this fic and art enough.

Next up for Cartoon Network era of shows, who is your favorite character from each of the mid-late 2010s Dimensional era (shame they didn't get the best treatment and exposure on the channel, being the point when Cartoon Network was overplaying Teen Titans Go and pushing most other shows to the side) shows you've seen like: We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls 2016, Mighty Magiswords, Ben 10 2017, OK KO Let's Be Heroes, Apple & Onion, Craig of the Creek, and Summer Camp Island?

We Bare Bears: Ice Bear though I loved them all. And as for thoughts, I really need to go back and watch all of this show as it was really good. Relaly solid. I think I just was in that hole of "If the status quo dosen't change I dont like it" which is still mostly true, it is kinda annoying to have a series long arc of someone wants to get a girlfriend with panda and not.. doing anything with that. But it's very clearly mostly slice of life shenanigans. ALso seems to have ended well

PPG: SIlico as he seems neat.. but I watched maybe one episode of this. I wasn't intrested, everything I heard was bad and looking back it seems half assed.

Mighty Magiswords: Yet another one from this era (and the last) I need to go back to, a true classic. Character wise I love Porhias for his voice and whole vibe. Though Vambre's legs will always have a place in my heart... moving on.

Ben 10 Reboot: Kevin having a bootleg omnitrix. This one I didn't see much of and while I may watch it some day for completions sake... it seems mid. Not as messy as ultimate or omniverse with some growth and really intresting ideas, but not nearly as intresting as the og or alien force seasons 1 and 2. It's firmly in the middle: trying hard to be funnier, inoffensive, but as bad as omniverse could get in it's worst moments... it had ambition. 2016 takes a much needed fresh start and just kinda... does a weaker version of the first show without the charm or real stakes or neat jack kirby-esque art style.

OK KO Let's Be Heroes: It's like asking me to pick my children you monster. But i'd have to go with Professor Venemous. He's a compelling villian, and while I feel we coudl've gotten more post shadowy figure takeover out of him (and may give him just that some day), he's an intresting villian whose bisexual as hell, clever and whose motivatoin and history with characters is great. The cast as a whole is though as this is the best show of the bunch here, though it has close compettition and you can probably guess who. It's fun, has well done character arcs, great action at a time Cartoon Network hated doing acction scnees (it's why SU got the shit end of the stick for a while and why this show ultimately did not last) and ended on one hell of a final episode (The actual climax is mixed but still pretty good given the time constraints). An all time classic and one of the best show's cn's put out and certainly one of my faviorites.

Apple and Onion: Onion, though ti's bittersweet given the whole Grahm Lihean thing. God dammit richard. A great show I wish i'd watched more of, really sweet and chill and like most of these as you pointed out , given the short end of the stick for teen titans not for me.

Craig of the Creek: Another all time faviorite and one I need to watch more of including the full story arc. But what i've seen of the story arc is excellent and the show as a whole is great, the recess successor I didn't know I wanted. It's still largely i'ts own thing but it's hard not ot see "Kids in their own elabroate clicks with terriotirY" and not think recess, but going way bigger than it's more grounded cousin. It's still clear most fantasy stuff is just the kids imaginations, but it dosen't hold back a fantastic show with a stacked roster of characters, a truly great world that just gets better and better, and a lot of nice character growth and moments. I'm not ready for it to end and boo HBO MAx for not wanting one of thier most succesful shows to go on. Favorite is JP. Eaisly. he's the boy.

Summer Camp Island: I"ve barely seen any of it I hear it's great and once again they screwed it over badly.

Ah. Weeks and days and weeks. Thankfully I AM way better now; I’m pretty sure what I had is called strep in English? I may be wrong. Free of that, but now my stomach aches; frankly it’s a miracle I, alive with how many issues my body seems to have with being well! Nothing I can’t handle 💪🏽

As I’ve mentioned, it makes me so so very happy that you enjoy the art I make for you (here’s a little teaser of what I’ve been working on today- the midway is always ghastly to look at! Hahaah!) because you are beautiful, and wonderful, an deserve to be worshipped through art in my humble little opinion.

Funnily I never have favorite baking recipes because I NEVER manage to bake things right. Took me three or four separate occasions to get cookies right. The only things I’m good at baking is cakes and flan. Humbly, I believe I make the best flan in the whole world.

Whatever skills I have at cooking delicious meals were given to me in exchange of being a terrible baker, it seems. Dishonour.

I wish we had Spirit Halloween 😣 a tip for safely cutting the lil faces on your bell pepper is to trace out the shape with toothpicks, poking the holes to loosen up the area. That way you can just finish carving it out with a non-sharp knife.

Caught up on MONSTERS AT WORK...

*spoilers ahead*

This is an interesting show in that it's a Disney TV Animation production, and Pixar had a *lot* of involvement in it. Rumor had it, years ago, that Pixar halted the show for a brief bit and took a look at it... Hence it missing its projected 2020 release date and ending up debuting a year later, in July 2021. Other Pixar shows made for Disney+ were in-house Pixar productions, like CARS ON THE ROAD and DUG DAYS. MONSTERS AT WORK is the unique exception, much like BUZZ LIGHTYEAR OF STAR COMMAND.

With Pixar seemingly drifting from Disney+, now that streaming isn't this be-all end-all thing that the movie giants aggressively bet on, I wonder if future shows based on their beloved movies will be made still... And by whom? They themselves? Or Disney TV Animation? It was already something of a surprise when MONSTERS AT WORK was announced in late 2017 as a DTVA production, considering how much John Lasseter supposedly despised BLoSC and how in-house Pixar tends to keep things. Also curiously, this show's second season aired on the Disney Channel first and then dropped on Disney+. Once again showing where the tides are going...

(Also, Disney... Pixar... Where the heck is WIN OR LOSE?)

Season one of MONSTERS AT WORK is this sort-of in-between-quel thing, in that it takes place between Waternoose's arrest and the epilogue of everyone on the Laugh Floor in the original MONSTERS, INC. And ends there, with at least one scene recreated verbatim. I must say, that ICON studio really did a fantastic job making a show that looks like the original movie and doesn't look noticeable cheaper. Amazing to think that the original movie released in 2001 cost $115m and was *top of the line* in technical terms, and today this Disney+ show looks almost as movie quality...

This new season follows up directly on MONSTERS, INC.'s ending.

And because we're past the first movie now - which is going to be 23 this year, it was pretty cool to see the sort-of mundane stuff going on in the company and around Monstropolis. Softball games and old abandoned hallways and fun stuff like that, I also like how it integrated all the stuff established in MONSTERS UNIVERSITY. Worthington returning alongside Chet, Claire and a few others, plus Fear Co. finally being shown. Good stuff!

Season two kinda does this thing where it's still trying to be the OFFICE-style workplace comedy that the first season was, but also functioning as a big sequel to MONSTERS, INC. Pixar bypassed doing a sequel to MONSTERS, INC. by giving us a prequel instead, so it was definitely kinda weird seeing this show function - in its second season - as a sequel of sorts. A big conspiracy with Fear Co., Randall Boggs returning, some pretty high stakes too. A near-finale fallout for the two main characters as well. It feels like it's trying to aim for those great beats in both movies, reprising them in that Pixar sequel style, a trick that's quite noticeable from a mile away. Right down to Tylor scaring a kid in the same way Sulley accidentally did to Boo. Still, it was cool to see some worldbuilding there, and the characters just simply existing. Day by day in Monstropolis. I'd love to see more shows like that w/ big animated movie characters, honestly. Even if I wasn't entirely onboard some aspects of this show, it was still cool to spend time in that world again without it having to be a big sequel.

As a kid, watching MONSTERS, INC. on DVD multiple times and burying myself in the second disc's special features, I always wanted to see more of the Monster World. Outside of Monstropolis, outside of MU, etc. What other cities and towns are out there? Or other kinds of monsters for that matter? What's the wilderness like?

I feel like that's a world you can really, really explore. A lot of the early concept art for that movie suggested something even weirder and gnarlier. Like, where are all the monsters like these?

You kinda get that with "The Shrieker", the legendary monster that roams the archaic underbellies of the factory. I'd like to see more of that kinda stuff, Monster World history and lore, ya know? It's literally a goldmine of stuff to dig into.

But I suppose you can weave a ton of things out of unmade versions of Pixar movies, for sure.

I was always very curious about that one treatment done up in the late '90s where Boo - called by her real name, Mary - was a little bit older and Sulley was still named Johnson, where the premise is him hiding this kid for the whole runtime and then her getting lost in the city at one point. That had a somewhat eerie, more ominous mood, almost a completely different movie from the workplace comedy we ended up getting.

But it was the stuff like that on the DVD bonus features that stoked my imagination circa late 2002, and... Well... Nothing Monsters came about - in terms of screen media, not theme park stuff - until MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, 11 years and one cancelled Disney Circle 7 sequel later. The Circle 7 sequel that was being developed around 2004-05 had some potential, I think, but I don't know ideas from it can legally be integrated into a future Monster World project. You can kinda sense - as others have pointed out - that young Mike and Sulley getting lost in the human world in MONSTERS UNIVERSITY's 3rd act seems to echo the plot of Circle 7 MONSTERS, INC. 2.

I still wonder if Pixar will greenlight an actual sequel (which would easily make a massive billion, probably completely blow MU's great $730m+ take out of the water), and if it'll treat MONSTERS AT WORK as canon or not. But this second season certainly went big, bringing back characters from both movies and attempting all these big payoffs. I found it to be amusing at best, sometimes good even. I felt the first season locked together better, but this one - despite how I felt about some of the character dynamics - tried all the stuff, so that's cool. And it got me thinking of the Pixar monster movies again, so that's also neat.

Idk nor care who tf shitlander nor bitcher is, but I do know and care for spiderdads/spiderparents (pbmj X Miguel). I'd rather read a fanfic where Peter B. is a figure skater and Miguel a hockey player. Peter is an ice skater who despises the hockey players whom practice right after him. Particularly given the one that makes an effort to dominate him both on and off the ice (Miguel).

so what happens~<3? well i could picture a very ROUGH start with miguel correcting peter's form at every turn, but who knows, maybe the boi has a bit of a background with figure skating himself ~<3 or even speed skating, and moved on to hockey post vampirism (or some other reason lol). either way, he means well, probably likes~<3 peter, but pisses him the fuck off<3<3<3 and then there's certainly carnal and pheromone attraction~<3<3<3

hello !! it's egr and it's been a while !! how are u ?

i've officially started grad school, i'm still in the very beginning of planning my research but i have a rough topic now, i get to research how people come up with creative metaphors and i'm so excited !! i gave out my measure to a couple friends and it was so fun seeing their responses i'm excited to actually start collecting data for real soon

i also finally started decorating my room after moving and it's making me so happy, i have a little nook where my bed and side table fit perfectly and i put all my art up as well as a tapestry blanket thing and some nice string lights and it's so cozy now i am obsessed with it !!

anyway, i hope u are doing well !! i hope u are having good fall vibes and a good change of seasons so far! i hope you are getting to have lots of nice warm drinks and see lots of pretty nature and other fall things and i hope work and life and everything else are treating u well, and i also hope u have a good end to ur week and that ur weekend gives u exactly what u need !

ROTTMNT Agere Headcanons

Raph:

Mostly Caregives but when he goes down, he goes down. He’s just an itty bitty baby. Cutest thing ever tho. He tries his best to be a good and helpful little one even if he can’t do much. He’s really never over the age of 3, maybe 4 if you’re pushing it. 

He’s a very expressive baby though, he loves interacting with his brothers, even if it’s just peek-a-boo, watching cartoons, or scribbling all over with crayons (Raph’s not allowed near the paints or other art supplies out of fear he’ll try to eat them. His caregivers have their hands full just keeping them out of Mikey’s mouth and he actually knows better.) 

He also loves shadowing his caregivers/babysitters, sometimes even his siblings who are also regressed, just toddling behind them and maybe imitating them or trying to help them out. A well behaved sweetheart. The only reason he’d ever end up crying is bc he’s gotten hurt or someone else (*cough* Leo *cough*) is being mean to him.

Leo:

Kind of young kiddo most of the time, rarely ever over the age of 6/7, but also almost never falls into the baby range (0-3) unless something super bad’s happened. 

Is actually incapable of caregiving, he gets too anxious and it ends up doing more harm than good to anyone involved 

Sometimes an older sibling type if he does end up falling in the older age range but that’s the best you’re gonna get. 

He’s a super active kiddo though, always on the move, always wants to be doing something. Usually teams up with Mikey to make little plans. They’re great at playing pretend together or really doing anything together, they feed off of each other’s energy, but this also means they encourage one another to get into trouble. 

He tries to be independent a lot of the time but also very much enjoys being doted on by his caregivers. Definitely enjoys a nickname like ‘Little Prince’ or something adjacent, he loves the idea that he’s the center of attention and most of the time his caregivers are happy to oblige. He’s a bit cheeky. He does like messing with his cg or babysitters a bit, but nothing too serious and all in the name of fun. They can always handle it.

He’s actually a bit similar to Donnie and Mikey in his sensitivity to criticism. He doesn’t usually shut down as quickly or intesley as them, but he’s still heavily affected by even minor criticism. Everyone around him knows his littlespace is his only opportunity to be ‘troublemaker’ or break the rules etc. so most of the time he gets off without any real punishment, other than maybe the consequences of his own actions. Ex: cleaning up a mess his prank made or being stuck sleepy all day because he went to bed late.

Mikey:

Chaos baby at any age. Most fluid when it comes to headspace range. Will jump from 3 to 5 if activities get exciting, might drop down to 2 if it’s just movie night. 

He’s always bouncing around, happy to do anything and everything that will satiate his boredom. He’s usually pretty good about keeping out of trouble, but sometimes he just can’t help it, trouble knocks right on his front door. What is he supposed to say? “No Thanks”? He isn’t lame.

He actually struggles to sit down and do stuff while little. He needs a lot more simulation when regressed. He actually requests Lou Jitsu theme songs or a movie playing in the background if he’s coloring with Raph or his siblings because coloring alone isn’t ‘interesting*’ enough for him (*he means stimulating he just doesn’t have the proper vocabulary)

Super talkative, even when he can’t talk. Sounds simply never stop coming out of his mouth. He’s always rambling about fantastical nonsense or his favorite something or why he dislikes something. The kid never seems to run out of conversation topics. Even when he’s just a baby, can’t form words or sentences, he’s still babbling. Making happy coos at things or saying words in succession “April, April, April” “Paint, colrs, pretty” Sometimes gets self conscious abt his voice but usually gets better with a bit of reassurance. 

Very quick to meltdown but also pretty easy to soothe. Most of the time just needs help processing his emotions but will also very readily take an icepop bribe to settle down.

 He can’t really handle the idea of being in trouble, he freaks out that he’s bad and will almost shut down. The same thing happens if you tell him to quiet down/be quiet/shut up. He stops talking entirely, and you know something’s wrong when Mikey stops talking. As for soothing, usually he just wants to cuddle and be told it’s alright, he’s a very good boy, etc. A tv show is a really good distraction for him after he’s had an episode and needs time to feel better. 

Donnie:

Either incapable baby or menace teenager/older kid. Doesn’t really fall in the toddler range unless it’s a special day (ex he and one of his brothers have plans to do something together while little)

Opposite of Mikey, super nervous to talk, typically goes non verbal, but tries to sign if able. (they all know pretty basic asl. Their lexicon is huge but like they don’t use proper asl grammar/sentence structure and tone indicators and stuff. They just sign words in succession)

Loves puzzles, games, building things, making things etc. while regressed. Usually when he’s older but even when he’s a baby, he insists on getting to play with foam blocks or magnets so he can build, or he wants to do jupiter jim activity books.

Definitely the one who struggles the most with insecurity abt his headspace. His classic Donnie overthink continues even when he’s little and he gets embarrassed that he’s weird or wrong for regressing. He needs a lot of reassurance that it’s okay and healthy and normal.

Ironically though, he’s probably the one who needs it the most. He struggles with taking care of himself when he’s having a hard time mentally or emotionally, he needs someone else to take care of him. Make sure he’s eating, sleeping, taking breaks. 

He’s super scared of being bad/getting in trouble, just like Mikey but quite frankly to a worser degree. At this point everyone knows not to scold Donnie for things when he’s little, even if he’s 11/12 because he will cry, sometimes entirely meltdown. That’ll either pull him out of his regression (and lead to him isolating for the rest of the day) or it’ll send him deeper into a smaller headspace. If it’s really bad, he’ll spend the next few days drifting in and out of babyspace. He’s generally a very sensitive baby, sometimes he can’t even handle jokes about him being ‘bad’ or a troublemaker or misbehaving.

He absolutely cannot handle punishment at any time ever. While he is a menace and messes around and is kind of feral, he’s careful, he doesn’t really properly break any rules (mostly because he has a huge fear of getting in trouble), so there’s really never a reason for him to be punished, but if he did break a rule, there’s no way he could manage to make it through his punishment. Just having to face his caregiver while knowing he did something wrong would probably send him into a panic attack. 

Getting sent to time out or his room or something would just lead him to meltdown there and then deny himself any comfort after. He’d push away from cuddles and deny any sweet/comforting words his caregivers tried to tell him afterwards. (Poor baby doesn’t think he deserves it)

This only happened once and his caregivers learned their lesson when they were stuck with a baby Donnie for an entire week. [He was so embarrassed afterwards but also was so far in headspace he doesn’t remember a lot of it]

The Bear Roots of Burbank Cartoons: A Lookback at Boo Boo Runs Wild

5 years ago, [adult swim] aired the greatest of all Yogi Bear / Ranger Smith episodes, “Boo Boo Runs Wild” (1999), on August 13th, 2016 A.D. at 4 AM.

Look and see, kids, how America’s not-so-average bear connects in the wide world of animation that produces many of the cartoons that you love in Burbank, Canada and more!

As and after I saw it, I knew that I found the greatest band of cartoonists out there, and that greatest band of cartoonists out there was none other than...

Spümcø, whose many creatives would end up working at Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Cartoon Network Studios, and many other popular Burbank and Canadian studios that made the cartoons I grew up and beyond watching.

Obviously, the character design is rather different, but they still look like the right characters, even with the slight color changes...

and with their items of human attire out. Ranger Smith, on the other hand...

Ranger Smith is wildly off model, and probably on purpose, throughout the picture.

Only in one scene appears he with a more familiar face.

Now, I didn’t have to watch Wild Kratts (which, by the way, features 6 Spümcø Canada creatives) to learn that “there’s only one thing a bear likes more than raiding a pic-a-nic basket.”

As the title suggests, Boo Boo loses his temper when Ranger Smith restricts him from tearing bark and decides to go primal in returning to his bear roots: “From this day forth, I’ll not dress in the man’s attire, and I’ll not speak in the man’s tongue. From now on, it’s going on all fours and grunting for me!”

Boo Boo wreaks havoc for the trees with his natural bear roots.

Unlike past episodes, however, the artists went far wilder than the usual Hanna-Barbera cartoon, making the trees alive and screaming in pain! OH, WHAT TOURTUE! Not to mention how I love Boo Boo’s goofy/manical laugh, a beautiful product of John Kricfalusi’s voice (Yes; I know that he was a formerly abusive megalomaniac who still has ADHD, but God knows what cartoons would be like today—at least those produced in Burbank and Canada—if it wasn’t for the many layout artists that he led).

Also unnatural to a Hanna-Barbera cartoon is the extreme levels of slapstick, wackiness and graphic nature of cartoons since such shows as Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures, Beany and Cecil’s DiC reboot, and The Ren & Stimpy Show. Boo Boo and now Cindy Bear are licking away at all of the honey... and bees... with insanely long tongues (may be that they’re sloth bears?). This left Yogi Bear practically speechless.

The mere sequence of dialogue between Yogi and Ranger Smith, discussing what to do about Boo Boo, involved HEAVY work in the storyboards by Vincent Waller. So many expressions that they couldn’t fit in each of Spümcø’s 3-panel storyboard pages!

As you see, in addition to Vincent Waller’s storyboards, John K. added extra poses (storyboard revisions more or less, but definitely layout poses) under the respective scenes. That way, Vincent could focus on telling and writing the story in rough pictures. (source of storyboards)

I also love the sound design. While it’s definitely true to a Hanna-Barbera cartoon, John K. and the late Henry Porch were very creative with some weird, dated and out-of-context sound effects, similar to what they and Horta Editorial did on The Ren & Stimpy Show in the first two seasons. The production music (probably APM and Capitol Records) also gave it a vintage, nostalgic feel.

Ultimately, with the aforementioned abusive megalomaniac aside, Spümcø undoubtedly harbored some of the finest animators and artists ever. Such names as Bob Jaques (Spongebob Squarepants, Buy One, Get One Free*, The Baby Huey Show), Ben Jones (DC Super Hero Girls, Cats Don’t Dance, Teen Titans GO!), Vincent Waller (Spongebob Squarepants, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog), Albert Lozano (Inside Out, A Kitty Bobo Show), Todd White (Spongebob Squarepants), Eric Koenig (Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Madagascar, Cats Don’t Dance, The Simpsons, and The Tigger Movie), and Erik Wiese (Samurai Jack, The Mighty B!) are among the hundreds of creatives who ended up almost everywhere working in Burbank and Canadian animation.

Other names on the Spümcø team that one might recognize include Gabe Swarr (Dexter’s Laboratory, The Buzz on Maggie, Foe Paws, El Tigre), and even background artists such as Richard Daskas ( @rdaskas​ - Samurai Jack, Time Squad, Sym-Bionic Titan, Batman Beyond), Richard Ziehler-Martin (Tiny Toon Adventures, The Wacky World of Tex Avery), Hector Martinez (Tom and Jerry: Robin Hood and His Merry Mouse, Timone and Pumba, Captain N, Evil Con Carne, Dora the Explorer), and Tony Mora (MAD, Teen Titans GO! to the Movies, Pickle and Peanut). I mean: in short, these artists worked for Warner Bros. Animation, Disney Television Animation and Walt Disney Feature Animation, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network Studios!

Spümcø’s production assistants on Boo Boo Runs Wild feature Matt Danner —a fantastic character designer, storyboard artists, director and producer, whose credits range from (Johnny Test and The Legend of the Three Caballeros to Team Hot Wheels and The Looney Tunes Show—and Cartoon Brew editor Amid Amidi. Brian A. Miller was an executive in charge of production, not for but probably in association with Cartoon Network.

Spümcø’s creatives, as I said, are all over the place in Burbank animation. Other shows that still air on @adultswim​ have ex-Spümcø creatives. For example: today’s re-run of Samurai Jack EPISODE XVI features Chris Reccardi (The Powerpuff Girls, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy)...

Scott Wills (Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal, The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat)...

Lynne Naylor-Reccardi (The Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show, Wander Over Yonder) and Jim Smith (YooHoo and Friends, Tom and Jerry Tales, McGee and Me)...

and Leticia Lacy (TRON: Uprising, Sym-Bionic Titan, Wander Over Yonder, Korgoth of Barbaria).

Even outside of Cartoon Network Studios, where most ex-Spümcø artists end up, @cartoonnetwork​’s The Amazing World of Gumball, from Cartoon Network Studios Europe (AKA Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe), features ex-Spümcø artist Charlie Bean (The Powerpuff Girls, Robotboy, Batman: The Animated Series, Timone and Pumba, Creature Crunch) on The Cartoon Network Europe Development Team.

One of Cartoon Network’s biggest and craziest hits, Teen Titans GO!, also features such ex-Spümcø artists as storyboard artist, director and producer Luke Cormican (The Buzz on Maggie, Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, Brickleberry, The Replacements, El Tigre)...

Gerald de Jesus (The Book of Life, The Ricky Gervais Show, TMNT)...

and Eric J. Pringle (Fosters’ Home for Imaginary Friends, The Problem Solverz). What wacky cartoon filled with live-action images, unpredictable visual gags and extreme slapstick humor wouldn’t?

Relatively, you could even tune in to Nickelodeon, the original home of Spümcø’s ground-breaking hit, The Ren & Stimpy Show, and see names of creatives associated with Spümcø and Ren & Stimpy, such as Zeus Cervas (Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Spongebob Squarepants, Clarence) on today’s episode of The Patrick Star Show...

or even Gabe Del Valle (Mighty Magiswords, Spongebob Squarepants) on today’s episode of Middlemost Post!

Overall, Boo Boo Runs Wild introduced me to the cartoon studio whose works I took for granted and on which I was missing out all of my life, and I strongly encourage this generation to support this Yogi Bear / Ranger Smith episode, which you can watch RIGHT NOW on [adult swim]’s site. It was officially on their YouTube channel, but it was removed for unknown reasons. This short never even got a DVD or VHS release!

The last televised airing of Boo Boo Runs Wild on [adult swim] so far was January 6th, 2019 A.D., but Spümcø also produced “A Day in the Life of Ranger Smith” and “Boo Boo and the Man” (based on true events in the life of John Kricfalsui) for Cartoon Network.

As I come to a close, it’s worth noting that layout Ed Benedict, an animator and artist whose credits go all of the way back to the 1930s with Disney and continued with MGM and Hanna-Barbera/Cartoon Network Studios, originally worked on Yogi Bear episode “Yogi’s Birthday Party” as a layout artist, and reprised that very role for “Boo Boo Runs Wild”. What a legacy the animators and artists of this episode leave!

Always will I remember how Spümcø, whose legacy connects to my Cartoon Network-infused childhood, blessed me and graced me that fateful day, August 13th, 2016 A.D., with the ultimate example of the fine art of cartooning that is the Yogi Bear / Ranger Smith episode “Boo Boo Runs Wild”. I was living in the moment, and I thank God for it.

“For years they have [been] asking me to make new Yogi cartoons, but I can’t even get a half a million [dollars] to make one, probably because I actually like the characters, but 60-70 million $ to make walking corpses is economical.” - John Kricfalsui on Yogi Bear (2010)

Another Ranger Smith, Boo Boo or Yogi Bear cartoon from the people behind The Ren & Stimpy Show is highly unlikely today, due to the abuse and harassment of John K. angering the world to the point of hating and condemning the man who helped to shape not only Cartoon Network but also television animation—and animation as a whole—with an undeniable legacy of artists and animators who deserve way more credit and respect than we perhaps thought of giving as kids.
