#so Sean Diddy Combes properties in LA and Miami are being searched#possibly related to sex trafficking - yikes#I don't know anything about that#and he's never been a guest on a boat I worked on#but he has chartered other boats and yachting is a small world#so I can say he's an entitled jerk that doesn't tip well#like literally chartered a boat for an entire week#and gave the crew a cheap merch t-shirt#crew are paid a monthly salary that is supposed to be for an approximate 40 hour work week#it's often more hours than that but a good owner/Captain will try to make up for that with long weekends or special trips etc#and when you're on charter#the hours are closer to 16 hours/day#so the tip should reflect that#and is based on ~15% of the weekly charter fee#so a $30 t-shirt for ~ 56 hours of work does not cut it#may karma prevail ;)

Finish Line || LS2
Summary: A farewell fic to Logan because I'm a sookie and miss him already. Pairing: Logan Sargeant x fem!reader (living in America) WC: 4k
Summer Break 2021
Your mother always said, “Nothing good is easy and nothing easy is good.” To an eighteen year old fresh out of high school you thought she was referring to studying and exam results, not the more impactful experiences you would face once the red brick walls were left in the rear view mirror.
It would only take a matter of weeks to learn the real meaning.
Loving Logan wasn’t easy but it was impossible to stop the feeling of falling that came soon after meeting him. From the moment you met there was an indescribable connection but the paths of your future were heading in completely different directions and you knew at the end of summer you would say your goodbyes.
In the meantime you would enjoy what the weather had to offer and what better way to emancipate yourself from the innocence of youth and broadcast to the world that you were an adult than a girls road trip to Miami? You may not have been old enough to drink but that didn’t stop the college guys on summer vacation from keeping you and your friends well supplied.
Looking back, it only proved how young and naive you were.
“Dalt, I really shouldn’t be here,” Logan complained as a red cup was thrust into his hand. “I could get in so much trouble for this.”
“Relax, bro, you’ll be fine.” His older brother clapped him on the back happily. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”
The beach house was right on the waterfront and Logan stepped out onto the white sand to dip his toes in the warm water. He didn’t know who’s family the place belonged to but Dalton seemed to know everyone by name. It only made him feel even more left out and he thought maybe he should have just stayed in England for the summer break.
The house was stifling with the humid temperatures compounding to a sauna with all the bodies inside. The beer had started off cool but it had warmed in your hands and began to taste disgusting so you abandoned it into the hands of a stranger passing by who swiftly chugged it back before shouting the Greek alphabet you assumed was the name of his frat house. You had certainly bitten off more than you could chew and debated catching a Greyhound bus home where you felt safe but you wouldn’t ditch your friends who were absolutely in their element.
The beach wasn’t like any you had seen before arriving in Miami. The sand bars were tiny pockets of islands and each property seemed to be its own space divided by narrow canals that lead to dry docks for their expensive boats.
“Mind if I join you?” you asked the stranger who sat in the sand at the water's edge. It was impossible to ignore each other’s presence when the rising tide had left such little space.
“It’s a free country,” he said with a small smile, his palm quickly swiping away the picture he had drawn in the sand.
“I don’t know about that. Sometimes it feels like a prison. Sorry, that was really morbid.”
He laughed and tipped his head back to the sun that still beat down despite being late in the afternoon. “You’re not wrong though. I love coming home, but sometimes I’m glad I don’t live here anymore. I don’t know how to fit in with that,” he said looking back at drunken revelers who had stripped down to their swimwear despite having no inclination to actually enter the water.
He looked like the rest of the guys there: tanned skin over a toned body and dirty blonde hair hidden by a cap he wore backwards. The southern drawl also confirmed the fact he called this place home.
“Where do you fit in then?”
His shoulders shrugged as he picked at a desiccated chain of Neptune’s necklace that had washed up on the beach. He busied himself with plucking each individual bead off the seaweed and flicking it back to the water. “I don’t know.”
“Okay, well, what did you want to be when you were a kid?”
“A Formula One racing driver, or a fisherman.”
You buried your toes in the sand, wiggling them to dig deeper where it was cooler. “I thought the all-american dream was to be an astronaut?”
You met his blue eyes and saw the amusement that sparkled in them. “I’m afraid of heights,” he admitted with a grin before he held out his hand. “I’m Logan.”
“I think we are beyond names here, I already know your hopes and dreams,” you teased, shaking his hand.
“But I don’t know yours, yet.”
“I can give you my name, but as for hopes and dreams, I have no idea what I want to be. I’m still trying to figure that out.” You realised his hand was still in yours and gave it another small shake. “I’m Y/N.”
As the sun fell below the horizon the party grew larger and soon it spilled into the slice of paradise you had carved out with Logan. Sand was kicked up as two guys tackled each other to the ground and Logan threw a protective arm around you before they could crash into your side.
“Back it up bro,” he said as he rose to his feet and pulled you up too, tucking you in behind his back. “You could have hurt somebody.”
“Aw, Sargeant, is that your girlfriend?”
Logan ignored them and turned to check you were alright. His eyes scanned over your body and slowed on their ascent before he cleared his throat and met your eyes again. “Do you want to get out of here?”
You scanned the crowd and spotted two of your friends dancing and the other sat on some guy's lap, smiles on all their faces. You couldn’t disappear and make them worry but you didn’t want to stay as the party only grew more chaotic. “Yes, please, I’ll just tell my friends I’m leaving.”
You weren’t going to attempt to get amongst the gyrating bodies so instead headed to Dakota. The guy sitting beneath her noticed your arrival first and grinned at Logan as he stepped in beside you, his hand resting on the small of your back. “You’re leaving aren’t you? Well, you lasted longer than I thought you would.”
“You two know each other?” you asked.
“Only since birth,” Logan answered. “This is my brother, Dalton. Dalton, this is Y/N.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” you said before turning your attention to your friend. “I’m going to head off, Kote. Logan said he can drop me off at the apartment after dinner.”
“Are you sure? I can take you back if you want.”
You laughed and leaned into Logan, enjoying the warmth that came as his arm curled around your waist. “I’m good, someone needs to make sure those two get back.”
You both looked at the twins who had found dance partners and knew the rented 4 bedroom apartment was probably going to double in residents by morning. With a resigned sigh that she didn’t really feel as the group mother, Dakota nodded. “I’ve got them, you two have fun.”
The wink she sent you off with made your cheeks heat but you hadn’t actually planned on doing what the action implied. Of course Logan was attractive, and the thought of taking him to your bedroom was one that had you melting, but you were quite happy just enjoying his company too.
“Are you hungry? I know this great spot but it’s a bit of a drive from here.”
Out in the street where the sounds of the thumping bass couldn’t reach your stomach rumbled and you smiled sheepishly. “Just a little.”
The restaurant he knew was on Key Largo, about an hour south of where the party was in Miami Beach and you were amazed by how many bridges had been built to connect the keys. It would have felt a bit scary driving over the ocean if it wasn’t for Logan recounting stories of growing up in the state. It was a good distraction to listen to the fondness in his tone as he remembered fishing off the now-closed piers that he pointed out.
“I think this is where you fit in,” you said as he cruised along the highway in his pickup truck, the radio quietly playing an RnB station in the background. It was warm enough that the window was down and the breeze blew his hair back like a runway model.
He glanced across the car and lifted a questionable brow. “In Florida?”
“No! Behind the wheel. You look, I don’t know, comfortable? No, content, that’s the word.”
On the beach Logan had shared how he was halfway through the season of Formula 3 in Europe and had hopes to join an F1 team in the future. It was also when he mentioned returning to the country he currently lived in, four thousand miles across the Atlantic Ocean. Despite only just meeting him, you felt the four week countdown arriving like a dark storm cloud.
Those four weeks flew by almost as quickly as you fell in love.
Summer Break 2024
The soy milk screeched and you winced at the sound before saving the new girl, and the coffee, from the machine. Thankfully it wasn’t scorched as the shop was already full with the busy morning foot-traffic and you wanted to keep it flowing for the customer’s sake.
“Soy latte with a shot of hazelnut?” A hand went up and you passed the takeaway cup over. “Have a nice day.”
You looked at the next order stuck to the bench and immediately searched for the customer, a smile splitting your face when you found him. “Baby, you’re home! Why didn’t you call?”
Logan ducked under the staff counter and met your embrace with strong arms that pulled you to your tiptoes. “I called, but you must have been busy here. God, it’s good to see you, sweetheart.”
You checked your phone in the pocket of your apron and saw the missed call before slipping it over your head. “Marie, can you keep an eye on everything?”
“Yeah, course, hun, take your time,” the part time barista said with a wave. “Welcome home, Logan.”
“Thank you.”
You dragged Logan eagerly through the swing door that stated ‘staff only’ and past the break room to the disused office at the back. “I’ve missed you so much,” you managed to say between the desperate kisses you shared as he kicked your door closed.
“Missed you too.”
Your hands reached beneath his shirt and he chuckled breathlessly as he caught them before they could move any further. “Tempting, sweetheart, but not here.”
You pouted as you draped your arms around his neck instead and held him tight. “I have the studio booked in 20 minutes, did you want to come?”
Logan rolled his eyes at the stupid question and didn’t bother to answer as he tucked his hands into the back of your jeans and buried his face in your hair. “You smell like blueberry muffins,” he hummed happily.
“I can steal one,” you offered but when you pulled away he quickly pulled you back with a shake of his head.
“Diet.”
You grabbed the flesh on his abdomen, feeling the hard muscle beneath. “You’re perfect, baby, one muffin isn’t going to change that - but it will make you happier. Go grab a seat in the staff room.”
You walked him back down the hall and let him settle into the couch while you grabbed a muffin from the front counter. Most of the rush had quickly cleared and with the lull in orders you made him his favourite drink.
“You spoil me, sweetheart,” he said with a gratefully smile as you placed the plate and cup on the coffee table. “Thank you.”
“Anything for you.” You sank into the couch beside him and watched him pick apart the muffin, finding all the blueberries to eat first. He could feel your eyes on his hands as they fiddled with crumbs but before he worked up the courage to explain why he caught a flight two days earlier than planned. “What’s going on, baby?”
He exhaled a heavy sigh and wiped his hands clean before taking yours. “I think it’s over.”
Your heart cleaved apart and your ears started ringing as your world came crashing down. There was only one semester left in your art programme before all the plans the two of you made would come to life - plans that started with moving to England with Logan. Plans that were crumbling down.
“It’s over?” you repeated as silent tears streaked your face and your hands slipped from his.
Horror bled into Logan’s features and he snatched your hands back, placing them over his chest where his heart beat rapidly with panic. “Not us, never us,” he rushed with a harsh shake of his head. “Fuck, sweetheart, you are my everything.”
You sagged with relief as he wiped your eyes but the relief was short lived as you understood what he meant and the phantom pain in your chest returned. “Have you spoken to James?”
He nodded and leaned into your touch as your palms ran up his chest to cradle his face. “It’s not good.”
To hear the defeat in his voice was something you never wished to hear again. It was a sound that no 23 year old should make, he was too young to feel the immense pressure he was under and a weaker man would have been broken by it. But Logan was strong, mentally and physically - he would recover from this, you would make sure of it.
“Come on,” you whispered as you rose to your feet and tugged his hands.
“Where are we going?”
“I’m taking you home.”
“But you have class.”
You grabbed your handbag from your locker and tossed him the car keys. “This is more important, and I can paint anywhere.”
—
The drive to Miami took most of the day and the frown on Logan’s forehead seemed to soften as the arid air turned humid and the paddocks turned to swamp before he sped through Alligator Alley. The top 40 charts played quietly on the radio and Logan hummed along with the ones he liked while he held your hand on your thigh.
A contented sigh of relief exhaled from deep in Logan’s chest as the sunset and the city lights illuminated the horizon. Though he was tired to his bones, just the sight of his home was enough to rejuvenate him and he sat up a little straighter before taking the exit that would lead him to Fort Lauderdale.
Madelyn and Daniel were already expecting Logan and the front door opened before he could turn the engine off. It had been a while since they last had Logan home and you felt a little guilty since most of his returns to home soil were to visit you instead, but they didn’t hold it against you. Madelyn was just happy that there was someone who loved and supported Logan as much as she did.
It was immediately clear that she wasn’t aware of his current struggles as you saw him hide behind a confident smile as she asked how everything was going.
“I don’t want to disappoint them,” he admitted as he closed his bedroom door after dinner.
You placed your bag on the floor and took a seat at the headboard before patting the spot beside you. Logan flopped down on the bed and rested his head on your thighs while his long legs hung over the edge, looking up as if you had all the answers.
“You could never disappoint them, Lo, they just want you to be happy. And, you're worrying about things that haven’t even come to pass. We don’t know what the second half of the season will bring.”
“I know you are being reasonable, but I can’t help thinking this is the end. Everyone else thinks so too.”
“You mean everyone on X, formally known as twitter,” you said with a roll of your eyes that made him chuckle. “How about no social media for the whole break? Just disconnect from it all for four weeks.”
“And what happens at the end of the break?” he asked quietly, sensing deja vu from the last time he asked this three years ago. It was an eerily similar state too with his head on your legs but you were on the white sands instead of a bed. You had already fallen in love but he was due to fly back to Europe and you would be getting in the car with your friends and heading home. He had forever changed you that summer.
You combed your fingers through his hair as you relived the same memory. “We will be grateful for the time we had together.”
A smile tugged at his lips and he sat up so he could pull you onto his lap. “I’m not letting you go again.”
“I should hope not,” you stated as your knees settled either side of his thighs and you reached into his pocket to fish his phone out. “Now say goodbye to this, I am having you all to myself.”
He plucked the phone from your fingers and tossed it to the side table before putting all those glorious muscles to good use. The room spun until he caged your body beneath his and he gently kissed his way across your collarbone. “You already have me, sweetheart.”
–
A sick twisting feeling gripped your gut as you waved goodbye to Logan through misted eyes. No matter what you had said, you could feel his stress growing as the break came to an end and now he was going back alone. You wished you could go with him.
The drive back to your apartment was too quiet but you couldn’t listen to the radio because the songs he would have hummed to would only make you miss him more. It always took days, weeks even, to reacclimate yourself to the loss of his presence when he left. It never got easier but the memories made were worth it.
The days dragged by as classes began again and the repetitive routine of life was reestablished. Finally it was the weekend and you could curl up on the couch and watch Logan’s practice on F1TV while you were surrounded by paintings of him. There were two new additions that had come back from Miami, one capturing his happiness as he reeled in a bluefish and the other capturing his perfect features as he sunbathed shirtless, that one was purely indulgent.
“Oh no, Sargeant has taken a big shunt into the barriers there.”
Your feet slammed to the floor as you jumped out of your seat and stumbled closer to the tv as if you could reach through it and help, but you were helpless to watch as Logan remained in the car in the middle of the track - red flags waving.
“Come on, baby, get out of there,” you begged as you heard his radio saying he was okay, but then the back of the car ignited into flame. You were screaming for him to get out as George’s car rolled by, his hands gesturing wildly for Logan to get out too before he finally was free of the seat harness and jumping out over the halo.
You finally breathed a sigh of relief but it didn’t last as the camera cut to Logan leaning on the barriers, his head hung in defeat despite the helmet hiding his face. You knew your boyfriend better than anyone, you knew exactly what was going on inside his head and you knew you had to do something.
The credit card Logan had given you years ago had been left discarded in the back of your underwear drawer. He said it was for you to use but you had never been with him for the money and even as a broke uni student you hadn’t used it once. But this was an emergency, and if you were ever going to use it then you could be damn sure it was going to be spent on him.
One quick email was sent to your professor begging for an extension due to a family emergency before you packed a bag and booked the first flight out to Amsterdam.
With shaking hands you typed a message: I’m so glad you got out of there, baby. I’m on my way and I love you so much xxx
You knew he wouldn’t be able to reply for a little while since he would have to get back to the team garage, and there would be other responsibilities first like having a medical check and debrief, but you sent it anyway along with the flight numbers so he knew where you would be and when. It was going to be a long day with the 13 hours of flights plus the change in timezone but nothing was going to keep you from getting to Logan before the race tomorrow.
–
A stranger with a whiteboard greeted you at the airport and the exhaustion of the trip faded away when you reached the paddock with a pass in hand and stepped into the Williams garage. Bodies of mechanics moved in sync as they rushed around the car preparing it for the race that was due to start in a few short hours but it was one man that was standing among them that drew you closer.
“Lo,” you greeted softly behind him on raised tiptoes.
A wide smile split his face as he turned to embrace you, lifting your feet off the ground as he buried his face in your neck. “Hellow, sweetheart,” he breathed against your skin before inhaling the familiar scent of your perfume.
Your hands tightened on his waist as he pressed a kiss to your temple. “Are you okay?”
He pulled back and his smile faltered. “I’m better now that you’re here.”
You reached up to trace the curve of his cheek where his smile had been but his team principal called his name before you could feel the shadow of his beard on your palm. “Can I borrow you for a minute?” he asked Logan before spotting you, a flicker of surprise on his face. “Hello, Y/N, it’s lovely to see you again.”
“You too, James,” you replied politely before stepping out of Logan’s arms and giving him a little nudge in the right direction. “I’ll wait over in hospitality.”
Logan spent what time he could with you, reassured by the feel of your arms wrapped around his neck and your cheek pressed to his as you sat on his lap in the single chair that furnished his driver room. The thin walls did little to dampen the noise of the motorhome and the crowd beyond but for a few minutes Logan could forget it all and the pressure that came with it - until the clock ticked away the precious minutes alone and reality returned.
“I have to score a point today,” he whispered like he was confessing a sin and he tipped his head back to stare at the roof. “No point, no seat. That's the deal.”
“Can they do that with your contract?”
“They can do whatever they want, sweetheart. I’m lucky they let me go this long without contributing.”
You cupped his face and tipped it forward so he was forced to look you in the eyes. “There are more ways to contribute to the team than just scoring points. You spend hours in the simulator every week so they can get their precious data.”
“And then I go and cost them $250k when I crash,” he laughed humorlessly and dropped his forehead to yours. “I think this is it. I’m tired and it’s so hard to enjoy it now. That’s the worst part out of all of it. I used to like my job, it was all I wanted to do.”
Your thumbs caught the tears that clung to his lower lashes. “What do you want now?”
“I honestly have no idea, I just know I want to be wherever you are.”
A knock at the door interrupted the promise you were going to make and someone in a William’s shirt said it was time to head back to the garage before ducking back out of the room.
“I love you” you whispered between the kisses you traced across the bow of his lips. “I want you to go out there today and forget James and points and all that stuff and just enjoy the race. I have watched you give everything to this team but today I want you to be selfish, okay? Enjoy it out there or it’s all for nothing, no matter the outcome. And when you get out of that car I will be waiting for you, arms wide open.”
Logan closed his eyes and exhaled a shuddering breath before he captured your lips in a passionate kiss that left you both breathless. Resolute and proud, he stood up and placed you on his feet before grabbing his cap and slapping it on his head. “I’ll see you at the finish line.”

Masterlist here
You were late. Bob was going to kill you. Your brother was a stickler when it came to being on time. It came as no surprise to anyone in your family that he had gone into the military.
You rushed through the door, purse strap getting caught on the handle and you tugged it free, chest rising as you spun around, searching for Bob. He stood in the corner of the coffee shop, pristine in a khaki uniform, eyes wide behind his wire glasses.
“Hi Ducky,” he said as you tossed yourself into his arms, breathing in his familiar scent. He felt like home, even though it had been years since you and Bob had lived under the same roof. You had been barely a teen when Bob left for the Naval Academy, and his stints on land were far and few between after. His assignment to Top Gun was the first time he had settled somewhere on a more permanent basis. It’s why you decided to move to San Diego after college. All of your friends had scattered around the country – grad school in New York, policy analysts in Washington, even one friend had taken an internship with an art dealer in Miami. But you had packed up and left Tennessee with one goal. Be closer to your brother.
“Bobby,” you grinned, stepping back to admire him. Every time you saw him it was months apart and so much had changed, but also so little. He was the same Bob who had thrown you over his shoulder to win the family flag football game on Thanksgiving. The same Bob who had carried your book bag for you when you were in elementary school and he was a middle schooler and went a mile out of his way every morning to make sure you got to your homeroom class safe and sound. The Bob who always picked up, day or night, when you called. The Bob who listened to you weep about your college boyfriend who broke your heart. The Bob who took care of you when you were seven and had the flu and your mom was working a double shift at the hospital and couldn’t stay home with you.
“Ducky,” he said, dropping your hands. The familiar nickname on his tongue brought forward a flood of memories: spring weekends flying kites in the nearby park, sitting on the back of a tandem bike with Bob on a trip to Florida to visit your grandparents, the fort the two of you made the one time it snowed two feet in Tennessee in under a day in March. “This is my squad. Guys, meet my sister, Y/N.”
You tore your gaze from Bob, looking over at the table he was gesturing to, a smile plastered on your face. A beautiful brunette with pearly white teeth and a tight bun was on the far left. That was Phoenix. You had received a handful of letters from Bob talking about her. Next to Phoenix was a handsome, bulky man with a mustache in a plain blue t-shirt. Wow, he was gorgeous.
Your eyes shifted over one more, breath halting in your throat as your gaze slowly crept up. First you spotted the dog tags. Eerily familiar, but then again, a lot of military guys wore dog tags, right?
Then the chin. Ridiculously cut jaw, slight bifurcated butt chin that you had found weirdly adorable two nights before. Plump, pink lips, puckered up in a grin. You felt your heart sink. There was only one thing left. You raised your eyes to his. Clear, seafoam green. An ocean in two small orbs. He smiled as you screamed internally.
Bob’s voice drew you out of your coma. “That’s Bradley.” The mustache man waved a hand. “And Jake Seresin. Hangman.”
Jake. Your stomach did a somersault.
Last time you had seen him, you had been teetering on the edge of drunk, standing outside of the bar with one hand on the railing, the salty ocean wind licking at the sweat on your collarbone, flicking the ends of your hair up against your chin.
The next moment, his tongue was on your throat, in your mouth, fingers in your hair, pressing your body against the railing of the deck as you whimpered into his lips.
You had crept out of bed before he woke up. Just a gorgeous, tan, muscular back sticking out beneath crisp white sheets as you tugged on your short dress and called an Uber. You had expected to never see him again.
And here he was, smirking at you as your brother’s gaze narrowed.
You had fucked up. Correction. You had fucked Jake Seresin. And that was a major fuck up.
***
Bob had never been the type to have a huge friend group, or any close friends really. So the first time he called from Top Gun, giddy with excitement, you had been elated for him. Your brother deserved a tightly knit friend group.
Before you had moved to San Diego, Bob had filled you in on the group’s antics. Their flights, their wild nights out, the dynamics. But he had centered mostly on Phoenix and Rooster.
Jake had conveniently been left out of the majority of the conversation.
“Well?” Bob asked as the two of you headed back to his house in your rental car. “What do you think of the group?”
“They’re nice,” you said.
“That’s it? Nice?”
You sighed. “I’m really happy for you, Bobby. You have a good group of friends. I know that’s what you always wanted.”
Bob leaned back against the seat. You were the one person that Bob confided in. He was an open book and you could read him with one glance. Looking over, you spotted his furrowed brow, the tense way he was squeezing his knuckles together.
“Are you OK?” you asked, turning your eyes back toward the road, slowing down to take a right turn.
“Tell me you didn’t move here for me.”
“Then I’d be lying.”
“Y/N,” Bob said. His voice had taken on Big Brother™ mode. “You shouldn’t have done that.”
“Don’t you want me around?” you whispered.
“Of course I do,” Bob replied. “I just don’t want you to waste your life following me.”
“Living in California a waste?” you asked. “No way.”
“What’s the plan, Duck?”
“Not everyone was born potty trained and with a plan, Bobby.”
“You’re twenty-three,” he countered. “It’s time to be an adult and figure out what you’re doing with your life.”
“You sound like mom.”
“And we both know she’s never wrong.”
You sighed. “Just because you got your life together at seven doesn’t mean I have to.”
“Duck—”
You cut him off. “Bobby, please. It’s been a week. Give me a little time and I promise, I'll figure out what I’m doing. Just be my brother, OK, instead of acting like my dad.”
That silenced him. Bob had taken your father’s disappearance harder than you had. He put on a brave face. He stepped up. He became the man of the house. But that meant that he had taken it upon himself to be your brother and your dad. So even at twenty three he still saw you as a child.
The two of you drove the rest of the way back to Bob’s house in silence. Inside, you were just about to close the door to your guest bedroom when Bob’s voice floated down the hall.
“By the way,” he said, “I told the squad we’d go out for drinks with them tonight. It’s Jake’s birthday.”
You grimaced. “Sounds good.”
“Leave at nine?”
“Sure.” You closed the door, plopping down on the bed face first. You had moved to San Diego to figure your life out. And of course the first thing you had done was have a one night stand with one of Bob’s teammates. If he had been anyone else in the world you would have been able to avoid him.
What do you get someone for their birthday when you hoped you’d never see them again?
***
“Floyd!”
You turned at the same time as Bob. Bradley grinned. “Oh this is going to get confusing.”
“Here.” Natasha pointed to the bar stool next to her. “Have a seat. Boys will get you a drink. Bradshaw?”
Bradley tipped his head. “On it, ma’am.”
She rolled her eyes as you settled into the seat, crossing your legs beneath the short skirt. “So, Y/N. Bob’s told me all about his little sister. But he left out that you were coming to live here.”
“I’m not much of a planner.”
Phoenix laughed. “The anti-Bob. I like you already.”
“He’s told me a lot about you,” you replied. “And Bradley.”
“And nothing about Jake I’m guessing?” You nodded and Phoenix took a sip of her beer. “Trust me when I say, you don’t want to even go there.”
“Are you speaking from experience?”
Phoenix craned her neck around, making sure the two of you were out of earshot before nodding. “Just steer clear of him. That’s my suggestion. Hangman is fun for a night. But things get messy quick. And he and Bob have a little bit of a history.”
You frowned. “What kind of history?”
Just as Phoenix opened her mouth to respond, Bradley pressed a beer into your open hand. “Ducky.”
You grimaced. “Bobby, you didn’t!”
He shrugged. “Sorry.”
You rolled your eyes. “I’m so going to eat your last Pop-Tart tomorrow just to get you back for that.”
“Fill us in, will you?” Phoenix asked.
“When she was four, Y/N became obsessed with those little yellow rubber ducks that you put in your bath.” You groaned as your brother recounted the full story. How you had thrown a fit when your mother had tried to take you out of the bath and the only thing to calm you had been to fill your bed with the rubber ducks. And how the next morning that continued, one rubber duck gripped firmly in your chubby hand as you ate breakfast, went to the park, tagged along to the grocery store, went to daycare. This continued for weeks.
You didn’t want to admit to the team that you still had a rubber duck stuffed inside your suitcase back at Bob’s house. It was a safety net of sorts.
“Sorry, Duck,” Bob said, squeezing your shoulders and placing a small peck on the top of your head.
You looked up at him. His cheeks were flushed, he had a massive grin on his face. He was happy. All you had wanted in as long as you could remember was for Bob to be happy. He took your happiness more seriously than his own. It was time you returned the favor.
“Am I interrupting?” All eyes turned to Jake. He had on a tight black t-shirt and a pair of jeans with cowboy boots peeking out the bottom. He shot a grin your way and you did your best to avoid his eye contact.
“Happy birthday, Hangman.” There was a chill in Bob’s voice, or perhaps you were reading into it because of what Phoenix had said earlier.
Jake nodded. “Thanks, man. Anyone up for a game of darts?”
Bob dropped his hand from your shoulder, following Phoenix and Jake back toward the darts board on one end of the bar. You sat back in your seat, tipping the beer down your throat, watching as they played. There was an easy banter with all of them.
You finished your beer, the darts game still ongoing. Quietly, you slipped around the edge of the room, out the door that led to the back deck.
It was quiet outside, just the sound of the waves crashing against the hard sand and the soft hum of the music as it seeped through under the door and from behind the old windows. You laid your fingertips on the wooden railing, tipping your head back toward the moon that was slung low in the sky, feeling the cool breeze dry the sweat that had started to form on the base of your neck.
“Mind if I join?”
You turned. Jake stepped out onto the deck, a beer in one hand. He approached the railing, putting the green bottle down and smirking over at you. This time you were far less drunk. You shrugged. “It’s your birthday. Who am I to say what you can or can’t do?”
He frowned. “Don’t be like that.”
“Just because you’ve seen me naked doesn’t mean you know me.”
He looked bristled. “Y/N. I had no idea you were Bob’s sister when we met the other night. If I had known, I—”
“Wouldn’t have fucked me?”
He grimaced. “You’re the one that left without saying anything.”
You folded your arms over your chest. “It’s not like you were falling over yourself to drive me home. It was better that way and we both know it.” You allowed yourself to look up. God, he was stunning. Green, wide eyes. Tanned skin, the way his forearm flexed as he gripped the railing. You could remember the way his touch felt as he dragged his fingertips over your skin. You tried to shake the memory from your mind. “Just do me one favor.”
“Sure.”
“Don’t tell Bob,” you whispered. “Let’s just forget the other night ever happened.”
Jake’s gaze lingered. “If that’s what you want.”
You pushed up off of the railing. “It’ll be better, trust me.” You headed for the door, turning around at the last moment. Jake was still leaning against the railing, watching the waves in the dark. “Jake?”
He turned, green eyes wide. There was something almost sad about him, you thought. It was a fleeting glimpse, but you saw it.
“Happy birthday.”
He smiled. You turned, peering through the glass on the wood door. Bob had his head thrown back in a laugh as Bradley pounded against the piano keys and Phoenix danced. You smiled. Your brother was happy.
You weren’t going to ruin his perfectly crafted life by saying you had slept with one of his friends. It would be easier for everyone if you and Jake Seresin pretended you had never met before.
How would they ever catch you in your lie?

on vacation with the f1 boys ✈️
i love to travel so this is just me being self indulgent lol. also disclaimer i know some of the pictures are not from the country i said the vacation is in, bear with me lol. hope you enjoy and drop me any pref requests you might have!
Lando Norris
Destination: Finland
Lando always went on a ski trip with his friends during the winter break and this year he invited you to go along. You started on the easier slopes, as you both had to get the hang of skiing again, but by the end of the day you were tackling some of the more difficult ones along with your group of friends. Afterwards, the group settled down in the ski lodge with cups of hot chocolate around a crackling fire. You all spent a few hours joking around and catching up after not having all been together for a while. To finish off the day, you and Lando went alone to the sauna where you had the chance to decompress together before heading to bed. All in all, the day was well spent and you asked Lando when you would be able to come back even though you knew the answer would be next year.
Oscar Piastri
Destination: New Zealand
During the winter break, you and Oscar did not want to travel too far from his home in Australia, so you decided to go to the nearby country of New Zealand. Both of you loved staying at the beach and so you decided to spend most of your days at the scenic shores of the country. After having a relaxing time at the beach, you decided to tour the country’s mountains together and to take in the beautiful views. A personal highlight for you is a romantic dinner with Oscar in the stunning city of Queenstown. All in all, it is a relaxing trip far from the pressures of racing that brings the two of you unforgettable memories.
Max Verstappen
Destination: Italy
For Max, a vacation was any time he could spend completely away from racing with you and his friends. So, instead of traveling far away from his apartment in Monaco, he wasted no time in going on a boating trip with all his favorite people along the Italian coast. You both spent days lounging on the deck together and nights drinking with the group at the yacht’s bar. The sea made for a perfect getaway from Max’s fast paced life and you could not be happier to get some time with your boyfriend in such a scenic place. Relaxing in the waves truly made for a great time.
Charles Leclerc
Destination: Los Angeles
Your favorite place to visit together was definitely LA. You both had friends who lived there so it only made sense to take a trip there when you both were free. You spent the days on the beach with him, either surfing if the waves were nice or simply sunbathing otherwise. Charles also convinced you to go on the most extreme rides at all of the amusement parks, giving you an adrenaline rush that kept you wanting more. So many laughs were had with each of your friends, especially when Charles insisted on winning you a giant Ferrari colored banana plush at the arcade. You had no idea where you would find space for it in your apartment, but you knew you would cherish the memories it brought to mind.
Carlos Sainz
Destination: Miami
To Carlos, it would not be a good vacation without some golf. So, you both decided to head to Miami where you could find the best of what both of you loved doing, golf and relaxing on the beach. While Carlos golfed in the mornings, you relaxed on the beachfront balcony of the house you were staying in. And during the afternoons, you would both head to the beach to relax in the sand and waves. One morning you decided to spice things up and have Carlos try to teach you to golf, but after accidentally hitting the ball into someone else’s golf cart, you quickly scrapped that idea. Your favorite memory of the trip was definitely the day you spent completely together on a snorkeling trip to see a nearby coral reef.
Lewis Hamilton
Destination: Dubai
When Lewis wasn’t racing, he still loved to be doing something adventurous. Lucky for him, you shared his love of an adrenaline rush. So the perfect destination was Dubai. Every day was filled with excitement, from riding ATVs though the desert to eating at luxurious restaurants in the city. Lewis even convinced you to go skydiving with him at the end of your trip which was an experience you knew you would never forget. There was never a dull moment when you and Lewis traveled together and you knew that once this vacation ended, you would already be planning for another.
Daniel Ricciardo
Destination: Austin
Everyone knew one of Daniel’s favorite places was Austin, Texas. So when he had a week off after the race in Texas, Daniel of course convinced you to stay with him on vacation there for the next few days. He took you to his favorite bars and barbecue restaurants to savor the food. He also took you to a ranch where you got to ride horses through the American countryside. On the last day of the trip, the two of you decided to go to a country music concert and dance the night away. Both of you loved music and so this was the perfect memory to end what was a great few days of exploring the Texan landscape. And of course you had to get a souvenir cowboy hat to remember the trip by.
Yuki Tsunoda
Destination: Mexico
As you and Yuki are both foodies, you decided to go to a place with one of your favorite cuisines, Mexico. You arranged to travel throughout the country to try different foods from various regions. Between meals, you would spend time seeing some of Mexico’s most scenic beaches and visiting some of the tourist destinations like Chichen Itza. The best part, however, was getting to spend so much uninterrupted time with your boyfriend who was always away from home. Though you knew Yuki lived the fast life, all you wanted to do with him was relax. And what better place to do it than in such a warm and beautiful country. As for your favorite food you tried? There were too many good dishes to choose!
Alex Albon
Destination: Phuket
Alex was thrilled when you agreed to go to the country he raced for. When you got there, he excitedly showed you around all of the sights and took you to eat his favorite local food. After a few days of frantically touring Alex’s favorite places, you both decided that it wasn’t truly a vacation unless you relaxed a little bit. So, you spent the rest of the week at the beach in each other’s arms, just savoring the other’s company. There were a few splash fights in the pool and the time where you jokingly pushed Alex off of the boat, but otherwise you spent your time relaxing on the sand. Thai sunsets were truly like no other and you knew you would savor your memories for years to come.
Logan Sargeant
Destination: USA
When you realized that Logan hadn’t traveled much around his own country outside of Florida, you immediately decided that you were going on a road trip to fix that. The plan was that you would go up the east coast, stopping in all of the major cities to see the sights. From Carolina beaches to the nation’s capital, there were surely a lot of things to do. And when you had a boyfriend who drove cars for a living, of course you got to the be the passenger princess. Every time a road sign showed something that sounded cool, you insisted that you stop. Your personal favorite destination was New York, where you got to show Logan a lot of the famous landmarks that everybody would recognize. Once you hit Boston, you decided to head back south to his home state and warmer weather. You would cherish these memories forever.

equilibrium
hello, quick something that i wrote just now, too short to put on ao3 so its going here o7. title from maozon- equilibrium
sargebon, 0.8k, fluff without plot
——
Logan gets to Austin later than Alex. Much later than Alex. His flight from Miami took off practically as Alex’s own one from London was landing. The few weeks of break before Austin was a blessing for Logan. Kyle's season was already over and Logan admittedly sorely missed being able to go fishing whenever he wanted. Their little trip before the race in May only exacerbated this feeling.
So, where Alex flew in from London with the rest of the team like they usually did, Logan flew in from Miami instead, took a late flight to spend a few last remaining hours on a boat, fishing with Kyle, capturing a few last memories before he had to be in Austin for the race there.
Now, several hours later, he is finally in Austin. Alex somehow managed to arrange for Logan to get the keycard to his hotel room. Logan is infinitely grateful for that, he missed Alex more than he is willing to admit maybe.
He tries to enter the room as quietly as he can but to no avail, the door still clicks, he can still hear the bed sheets rustling, signaling that Alex is still awake. Or that he woke up just now, either option is a possibility.
“Logan?” Alex calls out from the bed. It is half slurred with sleep. It makes Logan smile, a small, little, private thing only reserved for Alex.
Logan discards his luggage near the entrance, drops his bag onto the bench by the shoe shelf, quickly toes off his shoes as well and grabs the first pair of slippers he can see, and walks over to the bed, where Alex, looking very much like he just woke up or tried to stay awake is looking at him, blinking, “I’m here.” He says, still smiling.
From under the covers, one of Alex’s hands reaches out, tangles itself in Logan’s shirt, pulls him closer, almost tugs him fully onto the bed, “Missed you,” Alex whispers. Logan isn't sure if he sounds more asleep than moments ago or not.
“Missed you more,” Logan quips back. It is an old game they play, trying to convince each other of who missed the other more. It is a comfortable routine, one that Logan dearly cherishes.
Alex tugs on his shirt again, his hold on Logan weakening, “Come to bed.” He mumbles out. He is definitely starting to sound more asleep now than before, Logan concludes.
He laughs at that, “I smell of fish and sea salt. And the airplane.” He took a shower after he got off the boat for the last time. The smell of fish is faint but it is there, he knows it will be there, lingering at least in his nostrils, for the next few days most likely, “I need to take a shower.”
Alex lets out something incomprehensible, mumbled, more spoken into the pillow than anywhere else.
To that, Logan laughs again. It is not mocking, both of them know. It is amused but not mocking, more endeared than anything else, “What did you say?”
“I dont care.” Alex repeats, his weak hold on Logan getting even weaker with every word he says, his words now barely there, Logan has to struggle to make them out fully, to understand what is Alex saying.
“Let me at least shower first,” Logan bargains, “I will shower and then I will be right back.” He promises. Alex’s hold on him gets even weaker, it is barely there now. Similarly, where before Logan could maybe believe Alex was actually looking at Logan, now his eyes are fully closed, moment away from falling asleep properly.
“Okay.” Alex finally relents, lets go of Logan fully, “But you will come back.” He would sound threatening if his words were not so mumbled, if Logan did not have to try and figure out what he is trying to say.
“I promise I will be right back.” Logan whispers anyway. It comes out so soft, so raw. He cannot bring himself to care. He leans down and presses a soft, quick kiss to the top of Alex’s head. Alex is by now probably back to fully asleep.
——
When he gets out of the shower, Alex is already fully asleep again. The sight makes something warm curl in Logan's stomach, the knowledge that Alex tried to stay up long enough to see Logan, talk to Logan once he gets to Austin as well. But Alex probably got little to no sleep on his flight, Logan is very aware how little Alex actually sleeps on an airplane, he deserves to actually go to sleep, Logan doesn't need him to stay up, even if it was nice.
He climbs into the bed, tucks himself into Alex’s side, where he belongs. He thinks he can feel Alex’s hold on him get tighter even if only subconsciously. He isn't sure if that could even happen. It doesn't matter, not really, not in the broad strokes anyway. Not now, not here, not when Alex is so impossibly warm next to him.

Paul: We got down to Miami, which was... well, I mean that was just like paradise. Because, I mean, we'd never been to anywhere where there was palm trees. And we took a lot of photos, you know... we were like tourists, and we had our Pentax cameras Paul: We had a great time there. We stayed in a hotel most of the time and sort of looked down on the sand where the kids, the fans, would write 'I love John' on the sand, you know, so you could read it from your hotel room Ringo: This was just the most brilliant place I'd ever been to, and people were lending us yachts, or anything we wanted. This family lent us their boat, and they let me drive... about a sixty-foot yacht, a speedboat... which I proceeded to bring in to port, head-on (laughs)... not really knowing much about driving speedboats... and so, you know, they have those pretty rails on the front, hanging off... well, this was (crashing sound)... just bent the bugger all over the place. But they didn't seem to mind, you know, they were just happy.

Masterlist
Miami. Miami held a special place in you. You had been going there since childhood, all the way to now during your senior year in Uni. You enjoyed taking long walks by the shore, picking up small shells that you've gradually collected over the years, and taking pictures of the blue water and the to-die-for sunsets. It is where you've had a near-death experience by almost drowning, but also special memories like going for boat rides and surfing.
You had stayed in the States for your first two years of Uni studying to become a fine architect like your dad. It wasn't up to you, you had to follow his footsteps or you'd be a dishonor to the family. Your family went decades upon decades as architects, building and making some fine homes, buildings, and businesses. You didn't want to do that though, you wished and prayed that one day they’d realize how hard the pressure was to live up to the last name.
You had two older brothers, they have their families and are known quite around for making their work be known, but you, you weren't near their level. Mostly because part of you loved to make things harder for them. You just wanted to go out and live life how you dreamed. Due to your family’s name and reputation, you became such an introverted person. No matter how hard you tried to be “different”, they wouldn't find it professional of you.
You wanted the late-night drives with friends, travel around the globe, the skiing trip in Aspen, read books on a cold night as you felt the heat of a bonfire, and become a different person than the one they set you to be. You wanted freedom.
You had your group of friends that stuck with you since day one, two are engaged and going to start law school in the fall, your other girlfriend was going to begin her years in medical school in December, and one was going to become a professional dancer, and you well a said to be an architect. You wanted to become a journalist and have the world know of your passion to write a novel one day. No one knew of this, of course just your friends, if your family knew they freak.
During your third year of Uni, it took some convincing but you made the move to study abroad in the UK. Promising that you went for school, and school only. You loved it, the experiences of going out, looking at the different historical monuments, and taking holidays to Germany and Spain. You were living the life of the party, you could get used to that, but the States held a special place in your heart.
While in school in London, you made the decision to design and build out your dream home by the beach in Miami, a plan and idea only you knew. A house that you could visit and escape reality from. The dream home where you could wake up to smell the ocean breeze, tie up the beachy waves in your hair, and walk to shore to write your novel. It's what you had set to finish before working with your dad’s firm. A home one day you may take your kids to, for them to enjoy their time off. You invested and it was built secretly to your name, no one knew besides you. Receiving the keys shortly after arriving back.
Graduation was a true and humbling experience. But the feeling of relief of not having to take finals, go out with your dad on the weekends, and overall stay at your small dorm of yours was so soothing. You had promised your mom you’d stay the summer with her in their house in Miami. Before moving out to an apartment in Downtown Miami. It was the first couple weeks in which you realized you hated living with them. You were constantly asked what you were doing, where you were going, and why you were being so lazy instead of helping out. You never argued back, but your mom was always there to hold and hug you while you silently friend.
“Y/n? Your dad wants you in his study,” you heard your older brother Ryan say, knowing on your bedroom door. You rolled your eyes, and stood up, quickly throwing on an oversized t-shirt. You roamed through the kitchen to find a bottle of water, quickly taking a sip before knocking on the door of your dad’s study. “Come in.”
You stood by the door, crossing your arms behind you, waiting for him to speak. “Sit. I’d like to discuss something with you.” You knew that meant trouble, trouble for you, but a marvelous plan for him. You’d get used to the disappointment over time, but it never did get easier. You walked over and sat on the leather chair that faced him over his desk. Your dad's glasses hung low on his nose, looking at your choice of outfit. “Could’ve made yourself more presentable. It's almost one pm.”
“Dad!” you groaned, quickly becoming irritated, but he just shrugs it off. “I was discussing with Ryan, and Luke about our opening party for the new hotel in Downtown. Your mother will be assisting you, but you're in charge of decorating, and planning out the event. I just forwarded the invite list. Please don’t waste any time and get to work quickly. I hate being disappointed,” he urged.
Your jaw clenched, eyes wanting to pop out of their sockets. “You have a week, and I mean when I say I don’t want to be disappointed.” you wanted to refuse, to tell him to find someone else, that you're tired of working for him, but instead you brushed back the angry tears and nodded, standing up to walk out. “Anything else I should know?” you quietly said, afraid of your voice breaking.
“You're dismissed.”
You sighed and walked over to your mom’s office, where she gave you a sympathizing smile when opening the door. “I'm sorry sweetie. I just found out today as well. Let’s just help each other out. Maybe you can invite your friends over to help us too. I already did the catering, you can start off by making the invitations and forwarding them over to Luke so he can send them out.” And so you do.
Over the next few days, your mom grows worried when you're just sitting there quietly, not making any conversation or noticing her at all. You look unhappy. You are unhappy. But you knew if you told her, she’d rat you off to your dad, and that's the last thing you needed. She’d take notice of how shy and fragile you look. But you continued to work to make your dad satisfied. “Are you okay Y/n?” your mom asked, but you shrugged it off, “I'm fine. Let's quickly finish here, yeah?”
She did just that. After finishing decorating the tables by securing the silk fabric, placing the glasses, plates, and utensils, and positioning name cards on every table, you went to the mall and picked out a gown for the evening, having a self-care day after the week you had. You treated yourself well, happy with your purchases before heading off home for the day that was held for you tomorrow.
Your black gown was staring at you after you finished your hair and makeup. A smokey eye look and false lashes made you look sexy. You felt sexy and empowering. You went over and picked up the silk material before sliding it over your body. The dress hugged your curves, and the heels elongated your legs giving you the model look. Your family waited for you, your heels clicking against the floor as you placed your gold watch on, a gift from your friends. “You look beautiful Y/n!” your mom gasped, kissing your cheek before guiding you to the car.
You greeted the different guests, hugging old friends of your parents, helping them find their assigned seating, and assuring food would be out quickly. Putting them first over you. You were chatting with your friends, discussing going out after the event tonight, which was needed. You wanted to have drinks and wake up with the most raging hangover.
You shut your eyes annoyed when you heard your dad call you over, “Y/n! Come here for a second sweetie.” He only called you sweetie when it was a client he was interested in having, wanting them to believe in the perfect family title. You excused yourself from your friends, feeling their eyes as you walked over to your family. “Yes Dad?” you asked respectfully, shaking the hands of a blonde woman, and her husband, and then finally a young man close to your age.
You could've sworn you felt butterflies as you stared at his brown eyes. He was attractive, making you feel insecure and intimate with his gaze. “I’m Christian, a pleasure to finally meet you,” instead of shaking your hand, he placed a small kiss on the back of your hands, making your cheeks burn crimson. You smiled at him, shifting your weight from one leg to another, “Likewise Christian, I’m Y/n.”
You stood there quietly hearing your family talk about how they started their business, how they built the new place, and your dad’s career mostly, but what got you intrigued is when he mentioned your name. Christian voice was filled with curiosity, wanting to hear you speak again, “Your dad mentioned you recently graduated. Will you work with him, or what are your plans?”
You looked over to your dad who held almost a frustrated face, your brothers sending you a “don't fuck this up for us” look. “I just graduated! I will be working with him after the summer ends. We have some definite plans of wanting to design and convert something together. I just want to enjoy a bit of time for myself before reality kicks in,” you joked, making them laugh. “Enjoy it, sweetie, because once you become an adult there is no going back,” Christian’s mom said.
You noticed new people were arriving, so you took the time to excuse yourself from the fierce setting. You locked eyes with Chrisitan one more time, feeling goosebumps as you observed his freckled skin and curly hair, god he was sexy. Especially with the suit he was wearing. “If you'd excuse me, I’m going to greet some people that came in. Make sure they settle in okay.”
You didn't look back, just making sure one of your dad's old clients was taken care of. After sharing a few laughs and conversations with your friends you went to take a quick breather outside. You didn’t tell anyone, just wanting some space and peace. You hated these types of events, acting like the perfect daughter to please them. You were shy and reserved, only speaking when the attention was advertised to you. It's what you were taught.
“You okay?” you let out a small gasp, turning over to see Christian again. This time his coat was off, his white button-up undone from the top, and his sleeves giving you a first-hand look at his tattoos. You swallowed and became nervous all over again. “I'm okay. Just needed some time before going back in there,” you said, offering a reassuring smile. He chuckled and joined you, standing dangerously close to you.
“In that case, I'll join you. Events like this aren't my cup of tea,” you gave him a small laugh, “Believe me, I'm on the same page.”
“You look beautiful. Nearly tripped when I saw you…” Christian admitted, watching how your eyes slightly widen at his words, the small blush creeping against your cheeks despite wearing blush already. “Thank you, Christian,” you were speechless, should you say he looked handsome?
“Back there I asked you if you were planning to work with your dad. But I sensed a small hesitation. So I’ll ask you again, what are your plans? Not his, but yours…” you let out a nervous chuckle. Christian read your cards right, and he wanted to know more about you, what you liked and disliked. He wanted to spend the evening with you, break the rules and let you loose.
Was this a test your dad had sent him to you? Or was he genuinely interested in you? You’ve had your share of men wanting to know about you, spend a night with you. You’ve had sex once, never had a boyfriend, who would be interested in you? Why was he interested in you? You overthinking thoughts crossed.
“I want to become a writer. Write my novel, and travel to see the world. I had the chance to go abroad last year, and I miss it. Got to visit places I dreamed of going to as a kid. I don’t want to work with my dad. Or his firm at all. I want to make a name for myself, not the one they’re trying to produce,” you confessed, watching as his hand interlocked with your shaky one. His thumb delicately brushed against your knuckles, assuring you he was right there. How could this handsome, well sexy, stranger make you feel this way? Hot and bothered?
“Tell me more about you Y/n. I want to hear all of it.”
And so you did. You told him about your dream to become an author, explaining how Miami was home to you for so long. You told him about your group of friends, sharing jokes that made him let out deep chuckles, you even went on to tell him about the house you built not too long ago. He told you about his career, his life here in the States, and how he admires his family and friends over anything. Not once spilling out a single lie. You trusted him, as much as he trusted you.
“Take me there, I’d love to see the house. Let's get out of here and continue the night together,” he whispered, nodding his head back to the party inside, “It’s not that easy. They’ll be mad if I do…” you say, turning away from him. Reality set in. Realizing how just as long you’d been out here for. But no one came looking for you. “Can I be honest with you?” Christian said you averted your eyes back to him, his hand brushed against your cheek, tucking a curl behind your ear, his touch sending shivers down your spine.
“I haven’t had this much fun in so long. I needed to have this night, like this. I confide in you, and I want to be near you. You intrigue me a lot Y/n… I just hope you feel the same way, or else I just made a fool out of myself,” he revealed. You let out a shaky breath, feeling his forehead rest against yours. Despite meeting just a couple of hours before, you felt a sense of comfort and safety in his arms. “Wait for me outside. I'll be there in ten minutes okay?” you whispered against his lips, you tested the waters and kissed the corner of his mouth before standing up.
He watched with dark and intrigued eyes as you returned to the party. You made up a lie about not feeling well to your parents. Feeling like you were going to throw up and wanting rest. Of course, your dad caught on but he was with friends, so there was nothing he could say. You told your friends, wanting someone to at least know where you’d be, and they couldn't help but tease you, ushering on to go get your “man”. “Don’t worry about us! Go and enjoy yourself Y/n! Don’t look back.”
Your heels clicked against the concrete, hearing Christian footsteps following you up the stairs of your beach home. “This is it,” you unlocked the door and faced yourself with a family feeling of home. You watched how he silently stared at your home, the long and tall ceilings, the many windows on the wall, the antique furniture, the picture frame of your favorite memories, and the bookshelf near the TV mount. “You designed all this?” he couldn’t help but ask.
He stared at you, watching you nod, and walk over to the kitchen where his jaw drops open, “Holy shit. This is so beautiful Y/n,” you silently patted yourself on the back proudly. He was the first few people that came in here. The only people coming here first were your friends and the construction crew. “You're one of the few people that have seen this place. Not even my family knows about this.”
“I feel honored. Truly, this is amazing work love.” The word love made you almost fold. The way it rolled off his tongue to you. It had you wanting to hear more because you knew he was capable of doing so. “Do you want a drink? I have some beers and other beverages?” you offered, he nodded and settled with a Corona, you having the same. You showed him different parts of the house but upstairs was still unknown to him. You were sitting outside just having meaningful and deep conversations. He told you more of him, even admitting some of the things he said he didn’t tell anyone. You were falling for this man already? Is this what it felt like to like someone? The feeling of security with him didn't leave you, but now there was an elephant in the room that was being discussed. “How did you handle relationships like that? You know, with having a dad like that?”
“I've never been in love. I’ve never had a boyfriend,” you sadly smiled. “I've spent my whole life just living up to their expectations. Having a boyfriend to them was a sign that you were ready to settle down and began your family. Which I’m not prepared for. There is still so much I want to encounter, and having that commitment right now scares me…” you confessed. “This is all new to me Chris… I never bring people here, let alone have talks like I have with you… I have trust issues…” you continued.
Despite sitting outside on the steps that faced the beach, he moved closer to you, grabbing your chin gently facing towards him. “We might've just met. But this feels so, so, so right. Being here with you. If you’d let me I’d prove to you how much you’re worth. Because the woman I see in front of me is beautiful, a pure soul, with talent, and smart. You already have set with what you want to do with your life, and you should. A little love never hurts anyone, and I want to earn your trust,” Christian hummed at the end, now grabbing your cheek, and wiping a small tear that let out.
“I trust you, Christian,” was all you said before crashing your lips against his. His hand now rests on the back of your head, while yours is placed flat on his chest. You kissed him fervently, his soft lips molding against yours. He tasted sweet despite having some beers, and when your tongues began to fight for dominance, he let out a soft groan that made you want to clench your thighs together. “So sweet Y/n…” he whispered.
The sexual tension grew, now feeling as his big hands went behind you to unzip your dress, he kissed along your jaw, leaving a wet trail that made you throw your head back in pleasure. Chrisitan continued kissing down to your bare collarbone, biting the skin and leaving a small mark behind. “You feel perfect against me,” his voice deep. He gripped your waist and felt your clothed nipples as you kissed him back passionately. His hands traveled close to your ass, where he gripped it gently which made you let out a small moan against his mouth. “God the way you sound,” Christian groaned before diving back and kissing you.
You wanted more, you needed more. His touch and taste were addicting. “Christian…” you panted, your small hands making their way up to grab his face. You swallowed before interlocking eyes with him. “Yes, baby? Tell me what you need…” he replied, one of his hands delicately drawing shapes on your spine. “I want you to kiss me…” you say.
He listens. Tasting your cherry-coated lips, his tongue finding its way back inside your mouth, hearing as you whimper as he devoured you. “What else…” Instead of replying you took off his shirt, watching over the small moles that decorated against his skin. You looked up as you kissed over them, watching him throw his head back. You place a small trail of kisses up to his throat where you see him gulp deeply, awaiting your next move. Your thumbs brushed against his nipples, “God your hands are like silk, Y/n. Already can't get enough,” you smiled innocently before unbuckling his belt. You felt his cock harden against his black Calvin Klein boxers. “Now we're even…” you refer to being only in your black lacy bra and thong.
He picked you up, your arms wrapping around his upper shoulders as you let out a small giggle. He placed you on your bed, watching you with hungry eyes at your almost naked figure, Christian felt lucky. “You have such a beautiful body. One I’m going to take my time to kiss and mark on. Will you let me do that? Hm?” he asked you while dipping his head into the crook of your neck, feeling as you let out a breath. All you could do was nod, but he wasn't taking silence as an answer. “I have to hear you say it. I won't touch you unless I hear you say it.”
“Touch me, Christian. Kiss me. Mark me. Just do something please,” you begged. Christian nodded and went between your legs, feeling your legs wrapped around his, your clothed pussy brushing against his clothed cock. His hands went behind you to unclasp your bra, where he slowly kissed around your shoulder, before diving his mouth to your nipple. You let out a shaky moan, feeling his tongue flatly pressed against the sensitive nub before flicking it and sucking with his teeth and lips. His hand comes up to play with your other breast, giving the same undivided attention.
He looked at you, having you under his mercy. He kissed along your ribcage before licking his way down to your navel. Your attention quickly returned to him. You sat up on your elbows, awaiting his next moves, now feeling nervous and shy. “Don’t… whatever is racing through your head isn't true…” he kissed your hip bone. “No one has ever done it… What you're about to do…” you admitted.
“Then I’ll be the first. I need to taste you, baby. I can feel you dripping… I'll be gentle,” Christian reassured you, kissing your lips again, before diving back in between your legs. You felt his stubble kiss along your inner thighs, teasing you, you moaned when his face came close to your heated area. “Kiss me..” you let out a breath, just wanting to feel his tongue against you. “Kiss you where baby? Here?” he went back to kiss your thighs, where you groaned. You shook your head, growing tired of his teasing. “Here, baby…” you pointed at your clothed pussy.
You felt his shoulder flex against the back of your things, watching how he placed your thong to the side before kissing your clit gently. Your lips trembled, biting your bottom lip as you felt place his tongue against you. He pulled you closer and began to eat you out. You moaned, grabbing and tugging his curls, wanting to pull on something as you felt his warm tongue against you. Your back arched as he began to gently flick the bundle of nerves, feeling wetter as you felt him groan. “You're so incredibly sweet, I need more…” he said.
He gave your clit so much attention, that your back arched once again when you felt him place his tongue inside you, his brown eyes watching you as you do so, your nipples completely erect. “Chris… You feel so good… how are you so good at this?” you wailed, your fingers circling your nipple to enhance the pleasure even more. “That’s it baby… play with your nipple and watch me eat this pussy…” he dove back in, feeling your thighs close around him. He spread your legs and began to dig his head deeper into you. You felt the sudden intrusion of his two long and thick fingers inside you, “Fuck. Oh god… Keep going, don’t stop,” you moaned.
“I want you to come for me. I want to watch you come around my fingers, Y/n. Can you do that?” you nodded quickly, feeling his tongue begin flicking your clit again. He pumped and worked his fingers inside you quicker now, feeling how tight you were. “So tight baby, I wonder how my cock will feel inside you…”
He continued the same momentum, bringing you to your high where you cry out his name. He continues to suck and pump his fingers inside you after cumming, beginning to feel a bit overstimulated… “Chris… I want you to fuck me now…” He stops what he’s doing, stands up, and kisses you. The taste of yourself is present, your hands remove his boxers watching his cock spring out. Your eyes widen at his size, feeling smaller than before. “Look so innocent baby. Are you sure you want me to fuck you?” he asks. “Yes. Please fuck me,” you beg.
He smirks and lays you back down, fully removing his boxers, he looks down at your wet cunt, your cum seeping through, he groans and picks up some of your wetness before pumping his dick with it, using it as lube. The sight had you going over and playing with yourself, your fingers drawing small circles to relieve the agony. He removes your fingers, licking over them before resting your hands with one hand above your head.
Both of you watch his cock seep inside you. You let out a small breath… before looking at Christian's face that has pleasure over. His brows pulled together, biting his lip. “So tight and so wet Y/n…” he moans, “Can I keep going?”
“Keep going?” you look back down and notice only half of his cock was in, he smirks before looking at your innocent face all over again. You nod and give him consent, and he slowly begins to drill deep inside you. Your walls clench around him, where he sizzles in almost pain, he notices you frown concerned, “I’m okay baby, just feels so good. I knew your pussy would feel this good around me… Taking me like a good girl you are” Christian praises you.
“You can move…” you say and he lets go of your wrists, watching as your small palms rest against his strong biceps, which you dig your nails into. He begins to slowly thrust out and then go back in, the sight of his abs clenching has you moaning. He finds a correct wave of pleasure for both of you, quickly finding the spot inside you that makes you turn your head to the side and cry out in pleasure. “Eyes on me baby… I need to see your face while I make you come…”
“You're so big, Christian… I can feel you right here…” You place your palm against your abdomen, where he moans in pleasure. “That deep baby?”
You moan out as he picks up his pace, feeling his long and thick cock guided against your wet walls. He leans down and kisses you, wanting to taste your sweet lips. “So perfect baby, doing so good for me…”
“Are you going to come for me Y/n? Gonna come on this cock,” you moan out a yes, kissing his stubbled jaw that tickles you. He grabs your hips, watching as your hands tug on the white sheets below you. He feels in heaven, your warm walls swallowing his cock just like he imagined, the noises you let out reassuring him it wasn’t a dream and it was real. His thrusts were more quicker but still gentle like he had said, your eyes shut, “I'm going to cum Christian… I need to. You're making me feel so fucking good…”
You're at the rim of the glass at how close you were to cumming but you whined when he warned you to wait for him, “Wait for me… I'm almost there baby… Want to cum with you…” You leaned up and kissed him, letting his weight drop against you, your sweaty bodies now closer than ever. The small beads of sweat gilded against his freckled skin, his curls messed up at the way you tugged at them. He stared at your plump and swollen lips, picturing how they would look around his cock.
Chrisitan leaned his head down to your ear, thrusting harder inside you that had you moaning loud, “Cum for me love… Cum all over for me….” He felt you clench against him, his orgasm running with yours. You could've sworn you felt his warm ropes of cum inside you, as his thrust began to falter. He kissed you, smiling when you smiled against his lips, “You okay?”
You hummed muttering out, “Im okay… Feeling tired though…”
“Don’t fall asleep on me now… I have to care for you. Make sure you're nice and clean before we go to bed…” Christian said. He let you know he was going to pull out, and you suddenly felt empty. He picked you up and pulled you into the steamy hot shower, where he washed your hair and body. You return the favor, the loofa gliding against his skin, you drawing small shapes on his tattoos, and him watching you with the biggest grin on his face.
You decide to sleep naked… Not having many clothes here just yet. You told him to sleep in the guest room together, feeling lazy and tired to change the sheets. He held you close, your head on his chest, feeling his nails rake against your arm. But during the night, he somehow ended up on top of you. His curls are messy against your shoulder, and his tattooed arm is around your waist. You felt at home again.
You stir quietly, still feeling the weight on top of you. You don’t know how you manage but you get up and use the restroom. Drawing your hair up in a messy bun and washing your face and teeth. You put on a bra and underwear, going back into the room where Chrisitan continues to sleep. You grab his shirt from last night and button a few buttons. It’s early, maybe six in the morning? But you stare at the man who you now want to spend the rest of your life with.
You kiss his forehead, knowing he can’t hear you but you whisper, “I'm going to make up some breakfast… Come join me when you wake up…” You quietly hop down the stairs into the kitchen you designed from scratch. You make some coffee and rest on the small island that faced the windows outside to the beach. Watching the first lights of morning awakening, you feel his hands wrap around you… “I saw you washed my clothes, and I had wondered where my shirt went…”
He kisses you and says good morning… he pours a cup of coffee and nudges you to go outside to watch the sunrise together. “Give me a second, just going to grab my phone,” he kisses your forehead and walks outside. You pick up your purse and grab your phone. You carry your mug in your left hand while you unlock the phone with your right, only to be met with a message from your father. Your heart sinks, and the feeling of being uncovered overcomes you. Christian notices and asks if you're okay, seeing as you become pale. He looks at the message in your hand, his eyes widening just a bit.
From Dad:
I hope you have a good explanation as to why you’re not home and “resting”, Y/n. You lied to me and your mom. When the fuck were you going to tell me about this home you built here? Why was I not aware of this plan?

Ahh, here we are! After much revision (to the point where the only thing that's remained are the graphics [and character icons that @pumpkinspicelatte-art allowed me to use]), I've finally settled on the cast and main story branches this extremely self-indulgent One Piece modern AU.
For personal reference (and for anyone interested) I'll be making the occasional handy info post. Coming up next will be backstories for various cast members, but for now, let's stick with the basics and kick this off with a general run down + main cast corral. Join me below the cut for a silly goofy time!
A beloved nightlife spot in Miami, FL, Golden Hand is packed from open to close. Featuring a sprawling bar, a cozy patio, and three main rooms filled with arcade games, it has something for you, whatever your mood! Come early and you can grab a booth or patio corner; if you like to mingle, the barflies and game floor crawlers are friendly; or, if you’re wanting something a little more thrilling: tell the Bar Manager you came to let off steam. He’ll know exactly what you mean. If that’s what you want, be sure to bring plenty of cash. Once you’re escorted to Golden Hand’s back rooms, you’re going to need it. The drinks are pricier, the smoke is tempting, and—is that a pinball pit? That guy walking around, is he taking bets? Are we gambling? Hey! Stop with all the questions. What are you, a cop?
Crocodile
Owner and founder of Golden Hand, Crocodile is the toast of Miami. Though he’s had several successful ventures, the barcade is by far his most popular. It attracts both locals and tourists and is the pride of the local game design community. Every indie creator from the keys to the panhandle dreams of having Croc scoop their project up! While he’s a busy man, he can be spotted in Golden Hand most nights. Come early enough and you’ll see him chatting at the bar with its manager. After dark though, the only place you’ll find him is the back. If you want to chat, you'll have to drop serious cash.
Mihawk
Bar manager, custom cocktail crafter, and—when necessary—drunk asshole ejector, Mihawk’s is a face everyone knows. Croc may own the place, but Mihawk keeps it running, handling everything from daily operation to public relations. Though his gloomy attitude makes him seem unapproachable at first, regulars and staff alike adore him. Once you sniff his sense of humor out, turns out he’s more witty than scary. Want to charm him? Show interest in his herb garden and never leave with your tab open.
Buggy
Originally a regular, Buggy was ‘offered’ the position of Floor Walker after security footage turned up evidence of him installing card skimmers onto high-traffic games. When confronted, he was given a choice between paying the house a lump percent of his earnings or working off the debt. Chronically broke, Buggy chose the latter. He now spends most nights of the week collecting empty drink glasses and exchanging cash for game tokens. Was this how he pictured ushering in his 40s? No, but he's making the best of it, and as soon as he clears his debt, he's out!
Golden Hand’s various office staff, bartenders, and security
Alvida, Cabaji, Daz, Perona, Galdino, Mohji
Doflamingo
Crocodile’s first and most pesky business partner, Doflamingo is the reason your cup is always full. He’s the owner of several vineyards, distilleries, and micro breweries, and the sole provider of alcohol—among other things—to Golden Hand. Along with his family, he spends every summer in Florida catching up with his old flame, reviewing their contract, and setting up the next year’s shipment plan; as well as making boat trips along the Gulf Coast and straightening out supply lines for… well, back room patrons, you had to know all that smoke came from somewhere.
Rosinante
An ex-marine and Doflamingo’s live-in little brother, Rosi is mostly uninterested in the family business. He has trouble saying no, however, so in exchange for pocket money, he lets his brother keep him on as a kind of secretary. Day-to-day, Rosi fields phone calls, arranges meetings, manages travel plans, and otherwise keeps his brother on track. This last task is critical, as anyone who’s worked with Doflamingo will tell you. No one’s sure how Rosi motivates him, and Rosi isn’t telling.
Law
Former ward of the Donquixotes, Law is enrolled in medical school. Prior to that, he interned with the business. While his job description was vague, he could always be spotted with Doflamingo on his 'boating trips’. Scuttlebutt is, he was a runner, and not the track & field kind. Though no longer an employee, he’s still close with the family. He lives in their house, Doflamingo pays his tuition, and he tags along on their yearly Florida trips—where he still, occasionally, goes boating with Doflamingo as a favor.
Patrons come and go at Golden Hand with the season. Some can be seen every night for weeks, or every weekend for three months; some venture in for special occasions or to impress their out-of-town friends only; and some seem like they've been at the barcade all their life.
Golden Hand appreciates any and all business, of course, but its regulars hold a special place in the staff's heart. There's something nice about knowing what faces to expect... even if some of those faces tend to cause a ruckus.
Shanks
A well-known barfly, Shanks spends 4-5 nights a week in Golden Hand. He comes in early and orders cheap drinks for all of his friends. Despite flirting with both the bar manager and floor walker, he usually goes home alone... and never a minute before closing. He's a very predictable (and unlucky in love) kind of man. He's chatty, an excellent tipper, and surprisingly good at air hockey, making him popular with other other regulars as well as the staff. A few nights a month, he can be spotted in the back rooms smoking with Crocodile. No one knows what they talk about, but these meetings always precede Shanks going out of town.
Smoker
A local cop whose beat includes the streets around Golden Hand, Smoker swings by two or three times a week. Coming off a shift, he'll order a drink to have out on the patio with his partner, Tashigi, before heading to his home outside the city. While he's heard rumors of the barcade's illicit dealings, Smoker isn't in a rush to look into it. It's a popular place, and Croc is friendly with Smoker's chief as well as the DA. Too much trouble, in Smoker's opinion. He's just here to drink.
The Strawhats
A delightfully rambunctious friend group who share a few apartments in Little Havana, the Strawhats can be found in Golden Hand every weekend. The trawl the game floor from open to close, mostly playing with each other, though they've been known to break off in pairs and challenge other couples. When not pestering Buggy for tokens or cozying up to barflies for free drinks, the Strawhats can be found in the back. Their pinball skills are the stuff of local legend, making them the favorites to bet on any evening they happen to be spotted down in the pit.
Recurring background barflies, game floor trawlers, and backroom visitors
Ace, Sabo, Bartolomeo, E. Kid, Killer, Paulie, Icerberg, Rob Lucci

GHOST
Chapter 20
I play our last day in Laredo over and over again. From the moment we got out of the car until we reached his fathers house and closed our eyes in bed. A smile playing on the end of our lip each time our eyes met. Our hands find eachother even to hold a loose string on one's clothes. The breathing and exhales speaking what we wanted to say. Never in such time did I regret holding on to Javier and saying yes to him. “This is our last trip together” He took my hand in his eyes looking down as he enterwines them. I wasn’t sad, I was happy. I was overjoyed and nothing could ruin it.
“We spent almost 2 weeks in Laredo and another week in Miami visiting Murphy.” I lay my head on his shoulder. “We still have a week left in Mexico before having to think of goodbyes” He lets out a sigh nodding his head.
“I know” He places a kiss on my head before leaning in against mine again. “What if I don’t take the job?” My head shoots up in surprise.
“Javier if you don’t take this job you will drive yourself into madness” In the past days with Murphy they spent their time talking about the Cali Cartel. He wouldn’t admit it but I saw the excitement it brought to his face. He was a huge part of catching Escobar and not being there when they did, well it did affect him.
Flashback
“Does he speak about it?” I shook my head towards Connie as we looked to the living room from the kitchen. Steve and Javier sipping beer just yapping away about the Cartel.
“The only thing I could get out of him was an admission of guilt for messing with Los Pepes. Of course I can piece things together and know that guilt falls on himself for being stupid and missing the end of Escobar” But he wasn’t the one to dewell much on things. He was happy and if anytime he needed to talk he knew I was here.
“He did what he needed to do,” Connie sighs. I look over to her, she looks better than the last time I saw her in Colombia. “And I am damn greatful for it since it brought Steve back home” The last couple of days here I have seen happiness from both of them I hadn’t seen before.
“Now that he isn’t risking his life, planning on expanding the family some more?” Connie almost choked on her drink. My worry switched from confusion to realization. My eyes grow wider as a playful smile appears on her face. She has always been pretty but now I get why she was glowing recently. How Olivia was stringing extra close and so was Steve.
“Connie are you?” She nods
“But Steve doesn’t know yet” I sat back straight in confusion. “I found out a couple days ago. I want to do something special”
“Okay” My worry vanishes knowing it was all working out between the two. I grab onto my coffee and continue drinking it.
“Are you two going to try soon?” It was my turn to choke on my drink.
End
“I know” He huffed, throwing his head back to the seat. “Maybe we can run away?” That caused me to laugh. “Think about it” He turns his body to face me. “We can live on an island surviving only with things we catch and make from our very own hands” I shake my head knowing there was more nonsense coming. “We could ride on our boat each morning and we wouldn’t even have to talk to other people” What a dream. Of course I said that sarcastically. And of course, I said it in my mind. “You know what the best part of it would be?”
“What?” I smiled amused because his expression was all serious.
“We wouldn’t even have to wear clothes” I roll my eyes, throwing myself back into the seat to lean back. “It would be perfect. Just you and me, naked” He nudged my shoulder, “We could do it everywhere at anytime” I joined him in a simple chuckle for his stupid idea.
“You and I both know I don’t do hard labor” I show him my hands. Manicure done. Gold and occasionally silver rings stacked on my fingers. This is not a working hand, I don’t even deal with guns, unless I have to of course.
“That's why you have me” He gripped my chin to turn my head towards him. “You don’t have to do anything other than being with me”
“Then there's the other thing of my dream of living in a ranch. Bunch of animals running around. Couple acres” I grin seeing his mind turn. “We could also be naked there” He drops his hand.
“You’re right” He sighs like he just had a realization. I shake my head laughing, hitting him jokenly on the arm.
“Javi” I say with a warning tone. Our smiles disappeared as our eyes found eachother.
“I know,” He says once again. “One day” I nod smiling again.
“We are about to land sir, can you put your seat belt on again?” The kind flight attendant
announced.
“Of course,” Javier nods. When he is done clipping his seat belt his hands once again find my own. It was okay to dream about what we could have planned in the future. The future is still out in the air so anything is possible. But for now we need to deal with the present. We were currently traveling to Mexico to see the embassy. Javier needs to meet up with the USA counsel and since I am getting involved and needed in Mexico it was easier to knock two birds with one stone. Javier, although saddened and still conflicted with the decision, knows he was making the right decision to travel back to Colombia and be head of the Cali Cartel case.
Flashback
“You remind me of Javier when he chose to leave Laredo” I feared saying something wrong so I kept quiet and cautious when speaking with Chucho. “He wanted to leave this place and travel as far away as possible” We were currently out walking in the field, waiting for Javier to return from the town. “I saw it in his eyes when he came back that he didn’t like what he found out there” Chucho stops in his tracks looking out into the long field. “He wants to change it and even though I warned him to be careful because something that big you can’t change, he is also god damn stubborn” I smile understanding exactly what he means. “I also told him to be careful, no matter how hard he tries to change it, it is capable of changing you” Chucho turns around to face me. “I have seen who Javier once was when I heard about you in his life and now that I have seen you two there is no doubt he is still in there” His dad had the same soft eyes as Javier. “My boy has put a hard shell on due to the cruel world,” He walks closer grabbing my hands. “I know he would take it off to shield you from it. I just ask you to not give up on him because I'm scared to lose him forever” his eyes welled up and I couldn’t help myself but to hug him.
“I met Javier on his harshest days and know there are plenty more to come” I try to soothe the older man. “Even if his temper wasn’t the best match with mine at first he found a way to sneak himself in” Throught locked door mostly. “I can’t make a promise that it won’t happen but I will promise that aslong as I am still breathing I will fight and not let go of Javier” God knows I wouldn’t find someone to deal with me like he does. “It may sound stupid but for the first time I feel whole and carred for and that is something I won’t take for granted. It may be selfish but I will never be ready to let that go”
“And he will be stupid if he lets you go” Something about the love from a stranger who knows not much about you makes it feel even better than someone who has known you their whole lives.
End.
When we arrived at the airport a vehicle was waiting for us. I was wishing we would get a couple hours to settle down but I guess that will have to wait. We get into the car and I am surprised to see the ambassador sitting across from us. “I wanted to give you a personal welcome back” He smiles while he pours some champagne in a glass. “Nice to meet you Agent Peña, I am the ambassador of Mexico” He extends his hand towards Javier which he shakes.
“A pleasure ambassador Rodriguez” I smirk at Javiers responds.
“How was the flight?” The ambassador leans back, taking a sip. “I hope the arrangement
was to your liking?” Oh now this is a version of him that always pissed me off.
“It could have been better” I twist my body a bit while moving one leg on top of the other. “What is so important it couldn’t wait until tomorrow?” Rodriguez smiles, giving a quick nod. He places his glass down and pulls a file out of his suitcase.
“I think you will find this very important” I opened up the file, finding it filled with paperwork trails and pictures. My eyes widen trying to focus on a certain someone in those pictures. I read every single word and made the connection to things. I looked over to Javier who had a wondering look. I close the file quickly, handing it over back to Rodriguez.
“How long?” I ask blankly
“It's only been about a week but the shipment includes 2 months worth of product” I try to connect those dots but nothing pops up. “We have more details inside” I looked over and noticed we had stopped right infront of the embassy. “Welcome back Agent” He pats Javiers knee before getting out of the car.
“Mi amor?” Javier turns towards me, worried about my state. I look over making sure the driver is out but still decide to whisper.
“The cartel has transported over triple the shipment they usually do through the border in about a week” I know I was telling him but it came out more like a realization.
“Are you worried about how much product they have transported or how?” I shake my head facing Javier.
“I am worried about the reason why” The cartel have never been out in the spotlight and it is concerning that knowing this we still fall short on stopping them.
“But that’s still not it,” I nod, having a small smile on my lips. It wasn’t good news but having Javier here, knowing me was a nice feeling. “In those pictures I saw someone I know personally”
Flashback
Walking through the town I was from brought no memories to mind. “This is where you were born” We stand outside the hospital steps. I look up seeing the old, now pale blue building right infront of us. “This is where in the middle of spring a beautiful little girl took her first breath of fresh air” My grandmother had a small smile on her face. “How I regret not being there for your mother”
“Well you didn’t miss much. Plus all the fun happens when we get older” I smile, turning her to keep on walking.
“No, that is when the fun disappears. You are no longer loving and innocent” She scolded. My hand hits my chest jokenly offended by her remark.
“I am still loving and innocent,” I say, rolling my eyes. “But I guess you don’t see it because you are too focused on your other grandchildren” I continue walking with my arms folded together. I feel a tug on my hair pulling me back.
“The attention you need is discipline” She unfolds my arm and takes hold of my hand pulling us to the park.
“When someone needs to discipline their child in our culture they usually do it privately” I remark to all the people around us. “Unless you are into exhibition, which in that case, why to go grandma! But I hate to tell you, I am not into that” My laugh broke when she sent me a scolding look. Our feet finally stop and she turns me to look at the middle of the park.
“You have heard about the day you were born. So small and fraile.” Where was she going with this? I looked anywhere else other than the middle of the park. “Your mother took care of you on her own and I hate myself for not being there” I had some health problems being born prematurly and no one was around to help my mother who decided to leave home at an early age. “I know this will never be enough but when I decided to move with you and give up seeing them for what I know would be a long time, I took the chance because I care about you”
“Grandma,” I whine. I wasn’t into these sentimental moments.
“Everyone needs someone” She grabs my chin and forces me to look at the mural in the middle of the park. “I don’t know where you got your caring side. It goes beyond your mothers and mine.” I can’t look away now. I know if I do, tears would start to leave my eyes. “This is our last time together for a very long time, I know you made your decision because you care but I want you to know that the living here cares for your safe return too” I feel her caressing my skin. The mural was filled with flowers and notes. People around stopped and read, someone even saying a little prayer.
“I know who I have,” I say, turning over to look at my grandmother. “I know where I came from and what I want” I wrap one arm around her bringing her into a hug. “I will never forget the people who pray for me and wait for my safe return”
End.
“When I got my mothers cousin's file I discovered he was one if not the only politician I was 100% sure wasn’t part of any dealings” Javiers head twisted a little. “In that file, there was receipts, transactions, and picture of his family being in the same place as some major cartel bosses”
“So he was involved?” I shake my head.
“I never had my doubts he wasn’t. But of course with evidence it was hard to back up my story so I left it alone.” It wasn’t going to be much help either if I looked into it since he was already dead. “Their family was already suffering enough and didn’t need to be branded a fake because of actions he might have taken or not” The kids didn’t deserve that.
“So how is he involved in this?” I scoot closer to Javier knowing there was always a chance of a recorder or camera somewhere. I lean closer to his ear.
“The file Rodriguez showed me had a picture of the wife. The kids were young in one picture and the other, young adults”
“So you think?” I nod. No one would figure out the wife was part of it. She was always smiling by his side and taking care of their children.
“The faster I find out the faster we don’t miss a chance of capturing and shutting down the cartel. It seemed like after her sweet husband died she already had one in reserve. I took Javiers hand and led him out the car and into the embassy.
Miss l/n?” My head twisted seeing the young woman trying to catch up with us. “The ambassador wanted me to give you a message” She holds on a piece of paper.
“Thank you” As she turned to leave I looked down at the paper. I look up at Javier with a smirk. “Seems like you didn’t make a very nice impression with the ambassador” He furrowed his eyebrows as he began to follow me into the elevator.
“What?”
“Your meeting has been canceled. He will be sending over your plane ticket” I say nonchalant. I look over and see a blank space expression. “Don’t worry, I will have you here for a couple of days” I pull his face to plant a quick kiss.
“But he-”
“Don’t forget I have even more power” I send him a wink. The doors open and I continue to walk towards my office.
“Goodmorning Boss” I send the man a smile while walking by.
“So nice to see your officially back l/n” I say thank you, not stopping a second to chat.
“I will be your new secretary” A man already ready with a pen and paper stands infront of my office. “So nice to meet you Miss l/m”
“Yeah no way” I turn around hearing Javiers voice. I quickly grab onto his arm and pull him into my office.
“Come back at 10” I smile awkwardly before shutting the door on his face.
“When did they become men?” I laugh while setting my things on my desk. “Women did perfectly fine” He throws his hands to the air in frustration.
“Calm down macho alfa” I roll my eyes pulling my seat back to seat down. “Plus how can you have some eye candy and not me?” I didn’t think through my response and when I don’t it usually leads to unfortunate events. I look up seeing literal fire behind Javiers eyes.
“So you think he is cute?” Suddenly a grin appears on his face. I shrug, not really wanting to say anything else without thinking. “So it's okay for me to look at other women?”
“You're a man, I would put it past you” his steps become louder with each step he takes towards me. He harshly pulls my chair back and pulls me up. His face less than an inch away. One wrapped tightly around my waist while the other held the back of my neck.
“I am not just a man,” He groans, placing a kiss on my cheek. “I am your man” He places another kiss on the other cheek. A small grin appears on my face. “Your man,” He whispers in a husky voice. “Who doesn’t like to share,” I go in for a kiss but he pulls his face away. “I can’t look at another woman or person without thinking of you” He hovers above my lips. I want to kiss him but his reflexes are much faster again.
“Javi,” I whine, stomping one foot on the floor like a little kid. We didn’t have much time together so I was trying to soak in as much time with him as possible. A quick chuckle leaves his lips before grabbing my chin and making me look at him.
“You don’t need to fire him just-” His head now in the crook of my neck leaving a trail of kisses as he spoke. “Send him to someone else” I be honest I wasn’t too focused on any words that came out of his mouth. “Tell him to beat it’ My hands grip his hair pulling it to get a reaction but of course that didn’t work so I guess I had to do way more than that.
“Peña” A felt foreign saying his name in a serious tone. He looked just as surprised. “If you don’t bend me over this desk and fuck me I will have to go with another option” One eyebrow rises waiting for his responds.
“Mi princesa wants me to fuck her?” I nod my head excitedly pulling him closer. “Right on her desk?” A groan leaves my lips as he pulls me up. I wrap my legs around his waist and I am not ashamed to say my body started grinding on his. “Having the whole place hear how sweet you say my name?” Stupid beautiful hot smirk. I groan as he places me on my desk pushing us down until my back is layed completely down. I could never grow tired of this man, my man.
“Javi?” I whine wanting him to take his pants off already. He pulls away leaving one last kiss on my neck. I look up seeing his eyes intensely admiring me. One hand grasps my hip while the other moves up towards my chest until it wraps around my neck. Dear God, if you can hear me, don’t. I am to be praying, screaming, and worshipping another name like a new religion. His grasp tightens and I couldn’t help but moan.
“Get.Rid.Of.Him.” He taunts finally letting me go.
“What the hell Peña?” I sit up distraught. His body fell on my chair.
“You heard me.” With his arms folded he sits there looking at me. “Use all that anger” He shrugged. Shrugged! Like it was some kind of punishment. He was holding out because he was jealous of some kid? I could easily climb on his lap and take him but I know it will come back as soon as we are done. I jump off my desk fixing my clothes and hair.
“You will regret this Peña” I move closer leaning against the armrest of the chair to come face to face. “Remember the day I walked into your office?” He nods.
“I was mainly focused on your cleavage” He smiles
“Remember what I said?” His eyes switched towards mine searching for the answer he knew perfectly.
“I was too focused then on your lips” He comes to touch my face but I snatch his hand away. I give him a scolding look. “You said you held a lot of power in your position” His eyebrow lifted telling me that is wasn’t the case right now.
“Yes.” I innocently say. “I still hold a lot of power and even more now” His eyes follow me as I slowly get on my knees infront of him. “Don’t you think?” My eyes flutter looking up at him and one hand rubs his knee, then his leg, until I am above his cock. I see him swallow hard looking down at me with very little power to hold himself back. My hand starts to push a little harder, giving him the friction he was craving. “You will regret giving me orders” He throws his head back and that is when I stop and stand.
“What?” It was my time to shrug.
“Feels horrible doesn’t it?” I looked down at his eyes knowing what I had to do. As I remember our encounter back then I realise he wasn’t that Peña anymore. He was Javier, Javi who only wanted me.
“Where are you going?” Just like clock work there is a knock on the door. I ignored Javier who stood with fist on my desk. I open the door and tell the young man to follow me.
“Attention everyone!” All the people in the office stop and turn to face me. “As you all know I will be coming back to work soon and there is a matter I will like to be taken care of before that happens”
“Miss l/n?” I turn to see a worried face on the secretary as I turn to notice the ambassador walking up. Then I turn to look at Javier leaning against the door frame with a worried smile. I turn back around addressing everyone again.
“I want in every email, paper, any message or tag in my name to be changed” Everyone had an expression like I grew two heads. “I want you to change it to my last name, Peña” I swore I heard a gasp. The silence was broken when Rodriguez walked up towards me.
“Mi Niña is married?”
“Sure is” He laughs, pulling me into a hug. A couple people clap. “I got a couple details to run by you” I say seriously pulling away from him.
“Of course you do,” He sighs. “But tell me in a couple of days when you get back” He pats my shoulder, turning around but not before giving Javier a wave.
“Mrs, Peña?” The young secretary comes up and like he just won a prize Javier has a huge smile on his face. He asks his question and after that I dismiss him.
“How's that?” I say pushing Javier back into my office.
“I like it” I shake my head. “Lock the door” I ordered pointing at my office door.
“Aren’t we going to leave?” He asked while he locked the door.
“Not until you fuck me on this desk.” I say, taking off my shirt. “Then we are going to the hotel and I want you to fuck me on every possible surface” His eyes grew darker. “Understood Peña?”
“Yes Mrs Peña”
Flashback
“Javier?” I looked around, noticing we parked in a parking lot. Unknown buildings around us. It looked like the main street. I hear the driver side door open and when I look over Javier closed the door. “Javi?” I twist my body to follow his movement as he jogs around to open my door.
“Ready?” To look at his face and a smile plastered on it was all it took to take his hand. He shuts the door behind me and leads us to wherever he was taking me.
“Javi all these places are closed” There were some cars parked on the street but as I looked at every store, the lights were off with a sign that said closed. We walked along the sidewalk as I admired the town Javier grew up in. The sound of doors opening and a slight pull brings me back to reality.
“I will be right back” He places a kiss on my forehead before running down the aisle of the church. What the hell were we doing in a church? Forgive my words I say looking up to the ceiling. Beautiful moldes all around. Huge tall windows decorating the second floor walls. The column traveled with even more beautiful artifacts that led you to the stands. The whole church was white and beige with the exclusion of the wooden church chairs. The floor stones. I walk down following the steps Javier took until I stop right infront of the altar. On one side you can see a god statue and on the other the virgin mary. In the middle, a cross is adorned with flowers.
“You must be y/n” My head snaps to the right seeing a priest and close behind was Javier. “I am Father Gallegos”
“Padre” I take his hand bowing my head.
“Javier has asked me for a blessing” Switch my attention to Javier who only nods. “Is that what you want as-well” I was totally lost here.
“Mi amor” Javier moves to my side, taking my hand. “This has been so sudden so just know you can run away at any moment” I see him take a deep breath before kneeling down to one knee. My mouth wasn’t able to call his name before he spoke again. “We are about to go in different paths and to think that I could lose you was unbearable,” He rubs my hands as his eyes are fixed on mine. “I don’t want to regret a single thing when we are thousands of miles away. I want to be able to call you officially mine and I know it is a big step over a date, but I know this is what I want. I want you.” My nose stinged knowing tears were close to showing. “Will you marry me?” I blink the tears that were blurring my vision and nod.
“Yes Javi” His arms quickly engulfed me in a hug.
“Alright kids.” We turn to the priest giving him a smile “Can’t believe little Javier is getting married” He shakes his head heading up the altar. “I don’t usually do this but due to the circumstance and that I know you two are honerable I will make an exception” We turn to look at eachother smiling like idiots. I giggle quietly holding on to Javier’s hand. We stand infront of the priest as he was preparing himself.
“Was this your church?” I whisper not wanting to disturb the priest. Javier nods. “Ever taken someone to the back?” I hold in my laugh seeing his reaction.
“No,I am not that evil” he rolled his eyes with a smile.
“Doesn’t mean he didn’t try” I turned around to the priest and back to Javier shocked “It was once but I think it was due to Don Chucho giving him a good lesson”
“Padre, you are supposed to unite us, not give her a reason to run” I shake my head pulling us closer.
“I know the Javier I am marrying, I won’t run” Javiers eyes meet mine. Full of hope we both looked back at the priest so he could begin.
“We are gathered here today to unite two hearts” As he spoke I couldn’t help but look at Javier. The low gleam of the candles burning around us made the aura warm. The slight cast of the morning sun shined throught the windows creating a beautiful gleam towards the ceiling. I heard every word. Took in every word. It was like my whole world agreed to pause so I could charish this moment forever. “Y/n do you have any vows you would like to say?” I took my eyes off Javier for a second before shaking my head. My mind was conflicted. There weren't enough words to tell him how much I needed him. What he means to me and how much better person I am because of him.
“I love you” It wasn’t until I blinked that I noticed my eyes swelled up with tears. One of them escaped and slid down my cheek.
“Javier?”The priest spoke, I gave Javier a reassuring smile.
“I love you” I was thankful for not having to wear makeup because I am such an ugly crier.
“In the sight of God, I now pronounce you man and wife.” Our smile grows.
“Can I kiss her now?” Javier looks over.
“This is the only time God will see it right. You may kiss your wife”
“My wife” Javier whispers pulling me close
“My Javi” Javiers captures my lips in a tender, passionate kiss. The world around us melting away. As long as it lasted we weren’t worried about being separated or worried our jobs would tear us apart. Our hearts will beat for eachother for as long as we live and even as a ghost.
End.

there is nothing more delightful than hearing forsy talk about fishing absolutely nothing more delightful than that so behold. forsy talking about fishing.
"More than just hockey, you're also a big fisherman. Why fishing?" "I don't know, it's something that I did growing up with my grandpa, my dad and my two brothers. It's a good way to relax and get your mind off hockey—Everything really in life. You're focusing on fishing and that's it." "So, when are you buying your boat here in South Florida?" "Well...we'll see. It's mostly a summer thing but I wouldn't mind a boat. I'm pretty simple like that! It's hockey, fishing and family-life. Yeah, that is pretty much it for me." "You're a simple man!" "Yep!" "It's good! It's probably why you're a good player 'cuz you got your focuses. You're locked in!" "Yeah, yeah."
WSFL Inside South Florida | 4.11.24 (x)
"When you disconnect—When you step away from the rink, what are some of the things you like to do over the course of the summer?" "I'm a big fishing guy, so that's pretty much all I do when I'm working out back home." "Where do you go to fish? Where are the big spots in Sweden?" "Can't tell you the best spots. Just around—We actually—Me and my fiancée just bought a house back home. We haven't seen it yet so it's gonna be fun to see the house by the lake...I'm gonna fish that way." "It is furnished? Or are you walking into an empty house?" "No, it's gonna be empty!" "Oh, that's a summer project!" "Yeah, so we got a lot of things to do." "What do you go for? What's the most exciting thing you've pulled in?" "I enjoy pike fishing. I love big pikes. That's probably my favourite." "Is that part of the off-season workout? I mean, the upperbody gets a good workout fishing." "Oh, yeah. I think it's a lot of mental, too! Like, a mental game. So, you know, you gotta stay patient. It's a lot of fun."
Territory Talk | 6.15.22 (x)
"First question, I gotta ask you. What's something recently—off the ice, outside of hockey—that's brought you joy?" "Ooh! When I'm home during summer usually I fish a lot. So, that's something I really enjoy. I've been doing a lot this summer...Yeah, fishing, I would say." "Fishing. That's something you do with friends, with family, by yourself?" "Yeah. Actually both. I fish with my brothers and my dad, and a lot of buddies." "That sounds great! That sounds like a nice way to unwind!" "It is!" "—And the total opposite sort-of mentality of hockey which is so 'go-go-go-go!' physical in-your-face." "Yeah, it's still very competitive. Fishing it's—but it's fun!" "When you're dealing with a professional athlete I can't imagine theres anything that's not at least a little competitive." "Exactly!"
Miami Mic'd Up | 10.12.23 (x)
"We're seeing you're a big outdoorsman... ya like fishing?" "Yeah. I love—I'm a big fisherman." "Yeah? Do you have any—Have you been on a big fishing trip? Or you've just been fishing in Sweden? Down there in Florida? Where you at and what do you like to fish?" "In Florida it's mostly deep sea fishing. I'm more a lake guy. I mean, I'm starting to get into it more here in Florida. Ekblad is fishing a lot, so, he took me out a couple times. It's pretty cool to get a big Tuna and stuff like that...but I'm more of a lake guy, I would say." "Does Ekky make you pull in the big fish? 'Cuz he already said how big and strong you are, 'throwing a 250'... He's like—he gives it over to you or what?" "Yeah, but he's got the whole electric stuff so he's—" "Oh, he's cheating! With the big rod riggers!" "Yeah! He rigs—" "He got into that a few years ago when I was down there with him. He's still into it, he's still on that deep sea stuff. I can never do it, it made me sick." "Yeah. Yeah, he is."
NHL Network | 3.14.24 (x)
