Denmark Queen strips 4 of her grandchildren of titles - Bloom Times
Denmark’s Queen Margrethe, Europe’s only reigning queen and the continent’s longest serving monarch, had on Wednesday stripped four of her eight grandchildren of their titles, the palace said in an announcement.
The official reason, however, was to allow the four children of her youngest son, Prince Joachim, to live more normal lives and follows similar moves by other royal families in Europe to slim down their monarchies, the palace noted.
“As of January 1 2023, the descendants of His Royal Highness Prince Joachim will only be able to use their titles of Count and Countess of Monpezat, their previous titles of Prince and Princess of Denmark ceasing to exist,” the statement read.
Prince Joachim, 53, has four children from two marriages: Nikolai, Felix, Henrik and Athena, aged between 10to23.
“With her decision, Her Majesty the Queen wants to create a framework for the four grandchildren, to a much greater degree, to be able to shape their own existence without being limited by the special considerations and obligations that a formal affiliation with the Royal House as an institution implies,” it said, adding, “The queen’s decision is in line with similar changes that other royal houses have carried out in recent years in different ways.” The mother of Prince Joachim’s two eldest sons told Danish media she was “shocked” by the decision.
“This came from out of the blue. The children feel excluded. They can’t understand why their identity is being taken from them,” Countess Alexandra told a news outlet.
The queen’s four other grandchildren, born to Crown Prince Frederik, 54, will retain their titles but when they come of age only the future king, Prince Christian, will receive an appanage, a decision taken in 2016.

Thinking about Caleb “I-use-people’s-full-names-to-show-intimacy” Widogast and the way he calls Veth “Veth the Brave.” It’s not all the time—it’s rarely used, actually, saved for specific moments, only when he’s using the fondest of tones, with the most admiration, and how calling her that is more intimate than just “Veth Brenatto.” Because Veth the Brave is both of her identities. It’s Nott and it’s Veth, it’s their co-mingling, it’s her in her entirety. Veth the Brave. That’s why it’s so intimate, because he is speaking to all of who she is

Russia withdraws troops from Lyman — Bloom Times
Russia said Saturday said that it has withdrawn its troops from the once-occupied city of Lyman, as Ukraine’s eastern counteroffensive recaptures more territory.
Russia’s Tass and RIA news agencies, citing the Russian defense ministry had made the announcement.
Lyman is 160 kilometers (100 miles) southeast of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city. Ukrainian forces had pushed across the Oskil River as part of a counteroffensive that saw Kyiv retake vast swathes of territory beginning in September.
The key transportation hub, the city had been an important site in the Russian front line for both ground communications and logistics. Now that it’s gone, Ukraine can push further potentially into the occupied Luhansk region, which is one of four regions that Russia annexed Friday after an internationally criticised referendum vote at gunpoint.
