Mary Quant (b. 1934) was an icon of her generation and the personification of 1960s “swinging London.” This book, published to accompany a landmark exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, declares that she revolutionized and democratized fashion, creating fashion for everyone. It explores her then-subversive approach, setting her contribution in the context of British, European, and American fashion in the 1950s and ’60s. It surveys Quant’s life story—her art school background, the development of her retail business, and how she positioned herself as the face of her brand—before exploring the impact her brand has had on fashion, which is still seen today. Written with full access to Quant’s own archives, the book’s many illustrations include period photographs as well as new photography of her mod miniskirts and other designs.

Behind the Blue Door (2016)
My rating: 4/10
Some decent monster designs, and very little else - the plot is bog standard portal fantasy stuff, and the "he was in a coma all along" ending is the same kind of lazy cop out as "it was all a dream" with some trauma stuck on.

Quote
Art asks questions which it is supposed to answer itself. It is a kind of philosophy, reduced to its physical aspects. However, it not always is so. Art is a question and an attempt to answer it. Art is not always understandable and not always succeeds in giving answers or even suggesting them. In fact, it is sometimes nothing more than an object. Certain spot along the way. Art is something in between philosophy and psychology, since it is related to human emotions...

This is my Zine layout. I have chosen simple layout for my images as I wanted them to stand out. I chose light and delicate colors to concentrate the viewer on the story of those images. I also wanted to keep writing to minimum to let the images tell the story. I think that less writing also helps the viewer to think more about what he see and think about the story behind them.
