I’m not a swishy videomaker. I don’t know how. I’m Gen X. My fan vids have an Eighties/Nineties feel, I guess. Because that’s when I grew up. Biffy Clyro are an alternative rock band from Scotland. Many of Horror was released in 2010. I love this song for our boys.

My 2023 scrapbook! My first entry was 2022’s download festival, my first festival and with a group of people I didn’t really know at the time other than two people but now they’re all good friends and I’m even dating one of them yippeeee 🫶🏻

I wasn’t too sure what I was doing here and I didn’t have a lot of scrap at the time to use but it’s not the worst page I’ve made up

Attended 37 gigs

Attended 6 festivals

Saw 115 artists/bands

67 of those for the first time!

Top bands seen were Lambrini Girls and The Waeve with 4 times each

Just behind them were Biffy Clyro and Fontaines DC with 3 times each

My most visited venues were the O2 Arena, Shepherds Bush Empire, Roundhouse and Troxy with 4 visits each

I started the year with Soulwax at the Roundhouse and ended it with The Prodigy at Brixton Academy, so much dancing!

I think my favourite gigs were:

The Cure at the Troxy, playing their new album in full and then doing another 2 hours of hits and bits

Biffy Clyro doing their 3 night run of their first three albums at Shepherds Bush Empire

Fontaines DC headlining the Park Stage at Glastonbury

Justice headlining Field Day

Suede and Manic Street Preachers doing their co-headline gig at Alexandra Palace Park

Shout out to the dudes at concerts who volunteer to take you on their shoulders and continue dancing as if you weighed nothing. You guys did more for curing my body-image issues than 4 years of therapy.

My top 3, Noah, Jeff and Hozier, were so easy that I didn't really need to think about it. The fourth one was a bit more difficult but Biffy have been a solid presence in my life since I was young.
