One of my friends requested I write down my deviled egg recipe for them because I make really good deviled eggs and I figured I might as well share it here as long as I've got it written down. My personal secret ingredient is the vinegar. If you use it in small amounts you can't taste it but it makes a world of difference with the texture. I do most of this by sight these days but this is basically how it goes:
Deviled Eggs by Roman
(Scale up or down, adjust seasoning to your tastes, makes 2 dozen, best served as an appetizer or potluck dish.)
12 hard boiled eggs peeled and washed
½ - 1 cup Hellmann’s/Best Foods mayo
1 tsp white or apple cider vinegar
2 tsp mustard powder (adjust according to desired spice level)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika, more for garnish
Slice eggs in half, placing the yolks in a bowl. Set the whites aside.
Add spices, vinegar, and salt to the yolks and smash them in with a fork until the yolks are broken up into very small pieces and the spices and vinegar are evenly distributed.
Add mayo one large spoonful at a time, mixing into the yolks with the fork and getting any lumps out. Keep adding more until the mixture is the desired texture. It should be smooth and pasty enough to fit through a piping bag but not so full of mayo that it’s turning pale.
Taste the yolk mixture and add more spices if desired.
Pipe or spoon the mixture into the egg white halves. The mixture should completely fill the egg whites and go over the top just a little bit. 
Sprinkle lightly with paprika for decoration and cover eggs and refrigerate for at least an hour and no more than a full day before serving.

So here is few homemade recipe to take care of yourself right in your casa babes!
Hair mask :
1 ripe avocado
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons olive oil (or coconut oil)
Optional: a few drops of essential oil (like lavender or rosemary)
Instructions:
Prepare the Avocado: Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
Mash the Ingredients: Use a fork or a blender to mash the avocado until smooth.
Mix in Other Ingredients: Add the honey and olive oil (and essential oil, if using) to the mashed avocado. Mix well until you have a creamy consistency.
Apply the Mask: Start with clean, damp hair. Apply the mask evenly, focusing on the ends and any dry areas. You can use a comb to help distribute it.
Let It Sit: Cover your hair with a shower cap or a towel to keep the mask warm. Leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour.
Sugar wax :
2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
Instructions:
Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, mix together the sugar, water, and lemon juice.
Heat the Mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves.
Cook the Mixture: Once dissolved, stop stirring and let it boil. Keep an eye on it, as it can bubble up. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the mixture turns a golden amber color. Use a candy thermometer to check the temperature; it should reach about 240°F (115°C).
Cool Down: Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Pour it into a heat-safe container and allow it to cool completely.
Check Consistency: Once cooled, the wax should be pliable but not too sticky. If it's too hard, you can add a little water and heat it again briefly.
Face mask :
2 tablespoons plain yogurt (preferably unsweetened)

Instructions:

Low-FODMAP Gluten-free Chocolate Cupcakes

Honestly, I had no idea what to expect from this recipe. I've had such uneven results with gluten-free baking, and I haven't yet figured out what collection of attributes separates the disastrous from the sublime. Certainly, some of discrepancy could come from the fact that I've been forced to try recipes from corners of the internet I haven't fully vetted, so the problem could be bad recipes, not anything inherent in the gluten-free-ness.
Long story short, these cupcakes turned out good but not amazing. They're not the best cupcakes I've ever had, but they're at least as good as a box mix: more flavorful, but maybe a little drier. To the recipe!

Low-FODMAP Gluten-free Chocolate Cupcakes
3/4 c + 2 tbsp Bob's Red Mill Gluten-Free 1:1 All Purpose Baking Flour
2/3 c white sugar
1/4 c dark brown sugar
1/2 c cocoa powder
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
2/3 c boiling water
1 tsp instant coffee
1/3 c olive oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
Preheat oven to 350F, and line a dozen cupcake baking pan with liners. Whisk together all the dry ingredients in the large bowl of a stand mixer: flour, sugars, cocoa, baking powder & soda, cinnamon and salt. Beat in the wet ingredients one at a time on medium speed. Add the instant coffee to the boiling water before mixing in. Batter will be thin.
Add the batter to the 12 lines muffin tins, filling 2/3 to 3/4 of the way full. Bake for 18-22 minutes.

As far as FODMAP nonsense goes, I spent an inordinate amount of time googling around to determine the FODMAP-friendliness of cocoa, and ended up with so much conflicting information I ended up throwing up my hands. The most restrictive sources seem to indicate that 2 heaping tsp are low-FODMAP which, coincidentally, is about how much cocoa powder is in one cupcake. But a lot of people think this is too conservative, and that you could probably go ham and have two or even three cupcakes. A world of choice is before you.
Tomorrow I'll have to figure out frosting, but tomorrow is another day.
Weary disclaimer: I am no dietician. I'm doing my best to minimize FODMAPs in my diet, but it's possible for me to be misinformed or mistaken about various ingredients.

BBQ Sauce Experiment
Long story short: There are people who are gluten-sensitive, there are people who have an actual hives-from-skin-contact wheat allergy, and there are some who not only check the box for All of the Above, they get to check the additional box of And Various Other Things Because My Immune System Is A Maniac.
...Yeah. For years now, onions and me have been an unmixy thing. And I used to absolutely love munching green onions raw. I can still take garlic in moderation, but onions have to be gone. This becomes a problem when you want to use recipe ingredients like ketchup, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, or anything that says “spices” without defining them further because said spices may include onion powder.
Most barbeque sauces at least are up-front about that. Yep! Onions! Right here! Come ‘n get ‘em!
Gluten-free bread, I can make; at least one recipe that comes off as an excellent flatbread. But how do you do a proper BBQ sandwich without the sauce?
Here’s the recipe I made on the 26th, adapted from a couple different BBQ and ketchup recipes on the internet.  
BBQ Sauce
1 ½ cups ketchup. (I substituted a tomato sauce and tomato paste combo; mostly sauce, with enough paste stirred in to make it ketchup-thick. Also a dash of clove powder.)
1 cup brown sugar.
¼ cup maple syrup. (Roughly. Used the dregs in a bottle of syrup, rinsed out with the next two ingredients.)
¼ cup apple cider vinegar.
¼ cup water.
2 ½ tsp dry mustard powder.
2 tsp paprika.
½ tsp garlic powder.
1 ½ tsp salt.
½ tsp cayenne.
Combine all ingredients in a pot. I mixed all the wet ones plus sugar first, then all the dry spices in a measuring cup and dumped them in. Stir, bring slowly to a boil over a medium heat, turn down and simmer until the sauce is dark, thick, and richly flavored, about 10-15 minutes. Since my recipe used tomato sauce instead of already-cooked-down ketchup, I ended up going 15 or a little more.
End result: Sweet and spicy sauce. Not too sweet, no more so than regular ketchup or chili sauce, and not hot hot. More of a spiciness to the tongue and a lingering warmth to the throat and back of the tongue. It’s supposed to last months in the fridge, too.
Looking forward to trying it out!
...Okay, result so far is yes, definitely BBQ sauce, but not the best on pork. Live and learn. I think it has the right spice blend for poultry; I’ll have to try it on the next bit of chicken I get.

There are three basic categories for replacing eggs in a recipe: eggs used for leavening, eggs used for binding and eggs used for moisture. Knowing the right reason for eggs in the recipe is the first step to mastering egg substitution.
 each of the following substitute one egg in a recipe:
 binding
 Eggs used for binding are found in recipes like burger patties and drop cookies. The egg is used to hold the mixture together, but the recipe doesn’t need to rise.
 -    ¼ cup (2 ounces) of soft tofu blended with the liquid ingredients of the recipe
-    1 small banana, mashed
-    ¼ cup applesauce
-   2 Tbsp. of corn-starch and 3 Tbsp. of water
-    ¼ cup of avocado, mashed.
-     2 Tbsp. of corn-starch mixed with 3 tablespoons water.
-     3 Tbsp. of peanut butter or other nut butter.
-     Aquafaba is probably the most versatile egg replacer and can be obtained from plain chickpea brine (or from several other legumes). It can be used in a variety of dishes such as baking, macarons, meringue, nougat, marshmallows, ice cream mousses and even cheese and butter.
-    A commercial egg replacer, eg. Ener-G Egg Replacer or The
Vegg.

 Leavening is the act of fermentation of the dough, which causes a baked good to rise. Leavening is needed in recipes such as cakes, cookies, muffins and breads. A rule of thumb to determine whether the eggs are leavening agents: if the batch requires three or more eggs, the eggs are used for leavening.
 Leavening eggs are the most difficult egg replacement, but there are a few options.
 -    1 Tbsp. of ground flax seeds mixed with 3 Tbs. of hot water, set aside for 3 minutes to thicken. Add ¼ tsp. of baking powder for leavening. This recipe can also be used without the baking powder for recipes needing binding and moisture.
-    Mix 1 Tbsp. of apple cider vinegar, plus 1 tsp. of baking soda.
-    Mix 2 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. of full fat coconut milk, plus 1 tsp. of baking powder.
-    Replace ¼ cup of carbonated water for each egg removed.
-    1 ½ Tbsp. of oil, 1 ½ Tbsp. of water and 1 tsp. of baking powder.
-     Aquafaba is probably the most versatile egg replacer and can be obtained from plain chickpea brine (or from several other legumes). It can be used in a variety of dishes such as baking, macarons, meringue, nougat, marshmallows, ice cream mousses and even cheese and butter.

 Eggs needed for moisture are the easiest to replace. You can use just about any fruit or vegetable puree as long as the flavour meshes well with your dish.
 -    1 Tbsp. of ground chia seed mixed with 1/3 cup of water. Allow to stand for 15 minutes. As with flax seed, you can add ¼ tsp. of baking powder to allow for leavening.
-    Puree ¼ cup of cooked fruit. Options include apples, pears and prunes.
-    Puree ¼ cup of cooked vegetables. Use cooked or canned pumpkin, sweet potato or beets. Vegetable purees work best in dishes that will cover the flavour, like chocolate or spice cake.
-    ¼ cup of silken tofu.
-    Aquafaba is probably the most versatile egg replacer and can be obtained from plain chickpea brine (or from several other legumes). It can be used in a variety of dishes such as baking, macarons, meringue, nougat, marshmallows, ice cream mousses and even cheese and butter.

And more specifically, culinary tradition. As in the Hamline Church Dining Hsll, as in their ham loaf dinner even ... which our own little party decided to sample for ourselves. Especially Huckleberry Hound, my travelling compadre, and the Southern ursine romantics of Emmy Lou and Jenny Lee. And who couldn't resist as much the ham loaf (with rather treacly sweet sauce topping same) as mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, ciabatta roll, bread pudding for dessert ... and iced tea as well?
Asked by yours truly what attracted the Hair Bear Bunch every fair to the ham loaf dinner, all Hair Bear could admit to was that "it was just out of curiosity a few years back ... and how else could it be resisted when all was said and done?"
As for Emmy Lou and Jenny Lee ... "I do have to admit that this is rather interesting, especially for a little ol' Southern gal like myself," Emmy Lou remarked. "Though it'd be interesting if they had those baking powder biscuits."
"You mean," Huckleberry asked, "like those used in the ham biscuits down south?"
"That's an interesting way of puttin' it there, Huckleberry!"
"Quite pleased to hear as much from you, Emmy Lou."
"And has anybody ever mentioned where my cousin Emmy Lou makes perhaps the best ham biscuits around?" chimed in Jenny Lee, with Emmy Lou acknowledging as much, adding that she prefers biscuit-cut ham. Call it a weakness, even after probably thr third or fourth substantial glass of iced tea ...

As for the recipe for said ham loaf, should anybody be asking for it--
Preheat oven to 325° F/165° C/Gas Mark 3. Combine loaf and sauce ingredients separately:
FOR THE LOAF:
1½ lbs. each ground ham (NOT ground pork) and ground beef, chicken or turkey 3 cups dry breadcrumbs 1 medium onion, chopped ½ tsp. each salt, pepper, curry powder, ground sage and allspice 2 cups milk 3 eggs, slightly beaten, OR ¾ cup liquid egg
FOR THE SAUCE:
2 cups packed brown sugar ⅔ cup vinegar ¼ cup prepared mustard
Pack the loaf mixture into a large loaf pan; spoon half the sauce over the loaf. Bake for 90 minutes; drain grease from pan, spoon remaining sauce mixture over the loaf and bake 30-45 minutes more.
(Worth trying when fixing the sauce: Apple cider vinegar and, for the mustard, Dijon or Dusseldorf stylee. Stone ground, even....)

half-assed fish tacos
because @deactigayted got me thinking about these and I don't think I've shared the recipe here, and irl kinda sucks right now and this feels productive.
Note: this is half-assed by my standards, but I 100% have family who think this is a full ass recipe because of the frying. You are warned. You could also very easily use the pre-made protein of your choice, or add sour cream or avocado or whatever!
For the fish:
Tilapia filets
Tony Chacherie's (or a seasoning mix of your choice)
Lemon juice
Vegetable oil • cornstarch or flour (optional) (the cornstarch is crispier)
Lightly dust the filets then cover with lemon juice and let them marinate for 30 min or up to two hours. (Any longer and the lemon juice kinda cooks the fish.) (You can skip the lemon juice component! We just like seafood extra lemony, especially something bland like tilapia.) Make the slaw while the fish marinates.
If desired, pour out a little dish of cornstarch / flour and mix in some of your seasoning mix, then slightly coat/ bread the filets with cornstarch. (Not necessary but nice for the texture. )
Cover the bottom of a skillet with a light layer of oil. Like about enough to cover a coin if you dropped one in. Once it's warmed (starch/flour sprinkled in will fizz and cook instead of sinking to the bottom), pan fry the filets until cooked through and crispy and golden brown on the outside. Lay on a paper towel to drain.
For the slaw:
Bag of pre-cut mixed slaw, whichever kind you like best
About 3 tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt (you could do mayo but I dislike the taste. Idk about good vegan or nondairy options.)
About 1 tbsp lime juice (can substitute lemon or apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar if you prefer. Something acidic! Red wine vinegar seems like a bad idea though.)
About 1/4 tsp minced garlic
Cumin powder (be generous- I'd start with a tablespoon and check the taste)
Some minced jalapeño/other chili/Chipotle in Adobe (to taste)
If desired, cayenne or smoked chipotle powder
Basically whatever seasonings you like plus a pretty thick, tangy dairy and something acidic
Mix up the sour cream, lime juice, and seasoning in a mixing bowl. Taste to check seasoning. When it's how you like, mix the slaw in thoroughly. It should be lightly coated all over.
To serve:
Small flour tortillas
Pile some slaw in the bottom of the tortilla and put the fish on top. Add whatever other toppings you like, i don't know your life! Eat.

grocery list time~
literally just get these things if you want a vegan low cal life, because you can control portions and make things you enjoy eating with less calories- i made some example recipes under the list:
coffee.
SPICES. please make the investment into SPICES!
->continuation of spices, heres a basic list- cocoa powder, cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, veggie bouillon powder/cubes, salt, pepper, lemon pepper, etc (you can find more online but please dont forget it)
->and simple sauces like soy sauce, basic hot sauce, mustard, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, etc.
stevia or agave fruit sweetener. (please make sure whatever you choose you dont buy any sweetener with aspartame!!)
dairy free yogurt (i’ve heard coconut is good)
dairy free butter (earthbalance is my fav by far)
-> you could also make due with olive oil (cooking)
1st milk for normal stuff- unsweet cashew milk or unsweet creamy almond milk
->2nd milk for cooking- i suggest soymilk but creamy coconutmilk works good too
tofu. extra firm and silky work for different things (meat substitutes, egg substitute, diff. milk products substitutes) get either/both
carrots, mushrooms, chickpeas, and cauliflower all make good meat substitutes (bacon, chicken nuggets, pulled pork, etc) if cooked properly
OATS! plain oats are soooo versatile (used as flour, cereal, granola, crust, etc)
ricecakes (i use it as replacement for toast)
Pumpkin or sweet potato (in NO SYRUP canned form, very good for cooking low cal desserts or protein bars)
apple sauce (used for cooking and just yum- can be an egg substitute)
low cal noodle types- chickpea, edamame, shirataki, konjac, cauliflower, zucchini, spaghetti squash, and i think miracle noodle
literally any and all veggies and fruits- but a reminder of basics are broccoli, cucumber, onions, spinach, beets, eggplant, tomato, zucchini, potato, apple, banana, grapes, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, watermelon, mango, etc
WARNING ⚠️ be careful of sugar free drink flavor packets as they contain aspartame and other strange ingredients that ppl have complained of side effects- i would suggest to steer clear of many of the packets and go for a large unsweetened lemonade or fruit punch bin of flavoring so you can make it yourself. please check ingredients for health reasons.
-> HOWEVER, drinks like olipop, simple truth organic, waterloo, and zevia all have flavored water/sparkling water/cola drinks that are aspartame free.
I highlighted things that i think are really important
Veggie dip: yogurt, seasoning spices (ranch seasoning is goated), and a tbsp or lemon or soysauc, all mixed and best used as a “veggie chip” dip, like baked cucumber chips
Literally any cake/protein bar: oats blended, protein powder, 1/2cup apple sauce OR mashed banana, some milk, and whatever toppings you like
Granola: oats, chia seeds, cut up fruit pieces, and maple syrup or honey for binding. mix in bag, bake on baking sheet on pan.
Hot n sour soup: you can use hot n sour packet or make veggie bouillon and add hot sauce, soy sauce, and tsp chili powder. Then (to whichever mix you’ve made) add egg mixing around, and then add extra firm tofu in little cubes. Let the soup mix well and set a little while cooling.
Nicecream: freeze banana. add banana, tbsp of milk, 2 tbsp of yogurt, tbsp of sweetener, and a fruit of choice (a tbsp of protein powder also will help). blend with blender and then let it sit for a minute- add whatever you want on top
my best “toast”: seasalt ricecake, spread 1tbsp vegan cream cheese, and then spread 1.5 tbsp of organic raspberry jelly.

Gluten-Free Bread (1 spoon)
Things are a little depressing on the wet little island I currently call home. Okay, by "a little", I mean "this country's government is publicly struggling to find loopholes in human rights law". So as you can probably guess, the whole situation is significantly testing all the coping mechanisms for clinical depression that I learned in therapy.
Therefore, sublimation time - sublimation being where you take all that grief, rage, depression, whatever, and you stuff all that energy into doing something positive and constructive. Now, when I got my fibromyalgia diagnosis, gardening was my primary sublimation activity, but we're into mid-November now and the garden's kind of sleepy right now. That means baking is my primary option. I mean, I need gluten-free bread anyway because I need bread crumbs for various recipes I want to try, and gluten-free bread is expensive, so why not just make my own? Particularly when I might get bread that isn't about 35% air bubble if I make it myself?
I'll say this for those of you who can eat gluten - the consistency of the loaf I baked last night (recipe courtesy the Dish By Dish website) is not the same as your bog-standard supermarket loaf. The results of this recipe are softer, spongier, and somewhere on the texture scale between cornbread and cake. That's not to say it's bad, but if you've got issues with the texture of foods, it's a fair warning. Now, here's the thing that gluten-free bread has over regular bread for those of us with more physical disabilities - no kneading required. Hell, it wasn't even all that hard to mix by hand (though I probably still should have used the hand mixer; still, I was sublimating).
So! Here's what you'll need:
2 1/2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon xanthan gum (unless your flour blend already contains it)
1 teaspoon gluten-free baking powder
2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup neutral-tasting oil (vegetable, sunflower, etc) or melted butter
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups warm milk or milk substitute (110 F / 40 C)
2 large eggs, room temperature, beaten
Having made regular bread with actual gluten in it, this is an unusual combination of ingredients, and is probably why the consistency is closer to cake / cornbread than actual bread. Still, I figure things like the egg and milk are helping to bind the bread dough in same way the gluten molecules ordinarily would.
Anyway, here's what you do:
Combine all dry ingredients, whisk until well-blended
Add oil, vinegar, and milk, mix for 1 minute or until fully combined
Add beaten eggs, mix for 1 minute or until fully combined (consistency should be close to cake batter)
Add dough to greased 8" by 4" loaf pan, cover with a cloth, let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it's about doubled in size
Once dough has risen, preheat oven to 350 F (175 C), then bake loaf for 50 minutes, until top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack and cooling the rest of the way.
No kneading, remarkably little aggravation, and the only real issue is the number of things to wash up. The result is the sort of bread that probably works best toasted, or as the base for French toast, or turned into bread crumbs for breading things. Then again, almost all gluten-free bread needs toasting or similar to be palatable, and this was nice with butter and jam (in a cakey sort of way) when it was just out of the oven. So all that to say that it was a reasonable sublimation activity that left me feeling a little more accomplished and less helpless in general.
Now I have to go out for the ingredients for cornbread.

Fire Cider Recipe: A Cleanse For The Soul
The flavors in Fire Cider are predominantly pungent and sour, two of the flavors most often missing in our modern diets. Due to this, Fire Cider is seen as a digestive reset for many (not a replacement for healthcare, please see a doctor if necessary).
Ingredients:
5 ounces/143 g (5 parts) horseradish root
Fresh 5 ounces/143 g (5 parts) ginger root
Dry 2 ounces/57g (2 parts) garlic cloves
Fresh 1 ounce/30g (1 part) turmeric root
Fresh (or 1/2 oz/15 g dried) 1 ounce/30g (1 part) yarrow flower
Dried 1/2 ounce/15g (1/2 part) cayenne pepper
Dried (whole or powdered) 64 ounces/1.8 raw, organic apple cider��vinegar
Instructions:
Grate all the fresh ingredients into one bowl and mix them well
Measure the dried ingredients into a second bowl and mix them well.
Measure half of each bowl full of ingredients into a quart-sized canning jar or all of them into a half-gallon sized canning jar.
Add the apple cider vinegar to fill each canning jar, stirring as needed to eliminate all air bubbles from the mixture.
Cap the jars securely and let them stand where you’ll remember to shake them daily for 2 - 4 weeks.
When you’re ready in 2 - 4 week’s time, strain the solids from the vinegar, saving the vinegar for use. Compost the solids. 
Store the finished vinegar in a sealed glass container in a cool place, like the refrigerator.
How To Take It:
You can consume Fire Cider either by the spoonful or by the drop (putting it into your water). This recipe is best used uncooked, but you can also add it to soups and use it as a marinade if you want to!
