A great question! some of them are, but I feel like im having some troubles with it because im not very fasionable myself haha, or at least I only recently started to learn to be at least to some degree... baby steps X)

Sanya is pretty fashionable (tho i didnt post many drawings of them on tumblr, bc most drawings of them are ship art with my friend's @sandboxpyramid oc priest Daniel) Sanya has human form and demon form. They like to collect vintage clothing

Veronica, toreador vampire in VTM setting is also fashionable of course

tho she goes into several different dirrections since she puts on many faces/characters (like bimbo nurse/punk girl/sexy club chic etc)

Veronica has A LOT of different clothes and wigs and makeup... i am afraid places where she lives might look like thrift store sfdhfdh

she also likes to collect music - she has cassets, disks, vinyl. Obviously she also has players for those. She loves music, and when she wants to desociate she listens to her favorite songs (her toreador weakness trait is that she gets hypnotised by music she finds pretty, so if she wanna listen to her favorite album - shes gone, she cant turn it of by herself hahaha)

I haven't drawn ENOUGH of different fassionable outfits with Veronica, honestly she deserves MORE!!! (but i was getting severely depressed during our game, which was in 2022... i wonder what happened... so i didn't draw very much you know...)

Blueberry collects posters and sticks them on the wall of his cabin on his ship. He has posters of his favorite bands, his favorite anime, pin ups with different aliens of all possible genders (he's bi) and whatever random posters he just likes. I doubt any of them are made of paper, probably some more common kind of plastic ones, but who knows, what you can buy on some of the planets

I still wanna draw his wall of posters someday, but it is A Challange for sure, bc backgrounds isnt my strongest skill haha, but someday i will!

feel like a lot of my thoughts about not getting enough notes or whatever on a drawings can be dissolved by just accepting that art of the Game (its plot, events, etc) will pop off more than some self indulgent sketch. people will like things they can recognize, which i was aware of but i just thought that my art would reach the fandom people, yk the ones who are not just attached to the story but the characters too. so making recognizable art of the game wouldn't matter bc it would instead be of the characters

but the thing is, making Serious art of the game is tough. it's hard coming up with ideas, and who knows if the process is gonna be fun or extremely grueling. and on top of that, what hasn't been done so far? every idea has been drawn, been brought to life. the game is like 8 years old now. i kinda don't wanna draw more "Mountain. Blood. Snow. Ugly winter outfits" anymore lol. i mean sometimes i do bc i love the game obviously but when i wanna have fun, i'll tend to do other things that kinda combine with my own personal interests. so like fashion for example, i'll take the characters and dress them up. that's me having fun.

i want to think and Know that people understand this concept, but it feels like they don't? maybe they do. i know for a fact my mutuals do, because you are all very supportive of every silly josh doodle i make lol i appreciate it a lot 🤗 you guys are the kind of people i make this art for, the Character Likers. because i myself am someone who will attach to the characters more than like, the story. which isn't to say i just disregard the source material, that's not it at all, but for me regarding UD, imma be honest yall... i do not give a fuck abt the creature lore in the game at all. i don't care abt billy bates and whatnot. it's fine if you do, but me personally ehhh i don't care much abt that part of the story

i really like the characters out of all of this, i like certain dynamics, dialogue, etc. and i love the story too, and especially love when the story involves the characters (which i think the sanitarium segments doesn't really do? it kinda just gives insight on the 1950s mine incident and shjt) but i like the parts of the story relating to the twins. bc those are characters and they kinda haunt the narrative.

speaking of the narrative, it's part of the reason i like josh. he doesn't haunt the narrative but he controls it a lot id say. he's a very captivating character, very compelling. you want a lot out of him, like what's wrong, why is he doing this, why did he say that, blah blah. i honestly love characters that are attractive in this way, even to other characters in the story. so sam and chris for example. i enjoy the dynamic they have with josh because they're worried about him, they're thinking about him, or they want to know if he's okay, what's up with him and all that. he holds their attention like that, and ofc that led to ships and stuff. i feel like ashley's actress said it best when describing josh: "you think he's one way but then he's another"

which is honestly just so fucking true. you think he's dead, then he's not, you think he's okay but then he's not, you think he might live but he doesn't. he's even like that personality wise i'd say, but that's teetering onto like headcanon territory just somewhat. because sam does say "it's hard to tell with him" but that's mostly bc of the incident with the twins, she can't Tell if he's okay or barely hanging on. josh is hard to pin down, he's Complex, as stated in the game

sorry for getting into a little josh analysis there but since he is an important character (in general) to me, i kinda felt the need. because this also goes into my gripes about people not really getting why i draw him the way i do. j know i won't shut up about this, but i just Want everyone to know, bc i feel as though it was part of the reason why i wasn't really interacted with for as long as i've been a part of this fandom. like nobody really understood what i was doing, but it was really just simple fun. i mean, now i've completely given up hope with ever really Connectinf with the fandom, but i just want this off my chest honesrly lol

like i really don't want to keep drawing josh one way. like i said i wanna have fun so that's what i do. i can't really "make an him an oc" because i don't change anything about his story or writing. putting him in a silly outfit doesn't make him eligible for "original characterification" lol. so that's what i mean by i make a lot my art for the fandom people, the ones who like the game for more than its story, people who like making headcanons, people who like writing for the game, etc

i wanna know about gumi for the character ask game!!! i went through a tiny vocaloid phase in middle school and she was my favorite, but my friends barely even knew she existed. i've been so excited to see you posting about her, she deserves the love!!

Aww yay! I'm also excited to post more about her, she owns my heart just as much as Miku does

First impression: I liked her voice and her hair, wasn't a huge fan of her box art style, but I liked all of her more popular songs. I did play Panda Hero on loop in my first year of high school

Impression now: She has the best voice out of all the vocaloids, she has a very flexible voice, a very pretty design, she's my favorite alongisde Miku, she also has the best English voicebank out of all the Japanese vocaloids, she also has some of the best and most iconic songs and all of the pretty merch and figurines, please make more Gumi merch please I'm begging, I want a Gumi plushie

Favorite moment: I'm a big fan of her new Vocaloid6 and AI voice, but hmm... I'm not sure what my favorite Gumi moment is. Part of me wants to say her popular hachi songs like Matryoshka and Panda Hero because those were my first Gumi songs, but I don't know. Oohh, or maybe the Echo x Hibikase mash-up from that NicoNico concert! That sounds about right, it always gives me chills

Idea for a story: I don't tend to have ideas for vocaloid AUs like other people do (not because I don't like them, I just don't think about that stuff for myself), so instead let me take this prompt a different way and just talk about some ideas I have relating to Gumi, like how I want to make a Gumi shrine in my room (I saw someone with a Kagamine Rin shelf shrine, and ever since then I've really wanted to do the same for Gumi). Also here's a fun idea, Internet Co. Ltd! GIVE. ME. MORE. GUMI. MERCH. Also begging on my hands and knees for Crypton and Piapro to let Gumi appear in one of Miku's concerts, at the very least as a guest vocaloid, like how they let her appear in Project Mirai for two songs

Unpopular opinion: I'm actually still not a huge fan of the artstyle on most of her box art. That's the only opinion I could think of lmao sorry. I do like her design and her outfits A LOT, I think they're very pretty and creative, but I'm just not a huge fan of the artstyle

FINALLY finished this~! 

Who wants a Camp Camp/Xray and Vav canonswap, with Mogarvid undertones (okay, not really)? ...Well, you’re getting one. 

Basically, it’s an AU where I take the cast of Xray and Vav and put them into the Camp Camp setting (and vice versa) to create a sort-of new plot in both settings with the characters from the other show. 

EX: In Camp Xray and Vav, the boys are ten-year-olds waiting for a new camper to arrive with their mostly-silent and kind of grumpy counselor Mogar, while Hero Hero (yes, I’m calling it that) involves a lonely and bitter fifteen-year-old Max getting caught up in trying to stop a robber and befriending/grudgingly joining two other teens who are eager to be the city’s heroes.

I’ll get around to drawing everyone else later, but I really wanted to draw Mogar and David first (for obvious reasons). And yes, David’s pelt is a wolf because....it suits him. Admittedly, this was originally going to just be a style swap, but with who I swap around in the AUs, that eventually became a little more difficult for future reasons.

I didn't start drawing GreenBlue non stop just because I suddenly got interested in them at a time. I've always loved them since I was a little kid, at that day when I saw the "Oldrivalshipping - A thousand years" video, like...8 or 9 years ago I think. I don't know what made me have that kind of impression about the ship, I just remembered the arts were cool, the characters looked so cute together. Then after a year, I mean when I got used to using devices, I tried to find out where those two came from and they led me to PokeSpe.

As a human being who has lived 18 years on this planet, joining multiples fandoms from games to comics, PokeSpe, or Pokemon in general, is still the one fandom that I will spend my whole life making arts for. I'm not genius in art or anything. I started drawing when I was 6 and I kept doing it til now. I made fanarts and doujinshi for fandoms when I was in grade 6 and you know, people usually say their kid arts are cringe. Yeah I do feel like that in some ways back then, when I see how I failed anatomy and stuffs. Honestly I was a big mess back then. I saw many godlike artists who are at my age on Facebook, I admired them but at the same time I felt discouraged. I didn't know how people could improve their art so fast and I just stucked with my messy art forever.

Yeah it kept looking like this for years and I just got devastated. Around those years, I didn't know why I didn't think about drawing PokeSpe.

Then I dropped drawing for half a year cuz I was exhausted, only searching for art of GreenBlue. For some mysterious reasons, OldRivalShipping arts made me feel comfortable and as a result they became my comfort couple. The more I saw OldRival arts, the more I want to improve my art and draw for them. In the end, I got back to practicing anatomy and any kind of art stuff.

When I first posted my OldRival art, nobody really care to be honest. Before I drew GreenBlue, I had drawn for fandoms like FnF, LoL, Sky or HTF which just made me become so popular with lots of fame. So when I stopped drawing those, people started to leave. I was disappointed at first but then got used to it. Eventually, I stopped playing attention to fame and what people like. I enjoyed the art I made for my favorite characters and couples. I can just post my drawing there and nobody noticed it and I still feel normal about it, which is a great success for me. I want to draw to make a whole collection and then when I become one of thise godlike artists, I will look back to my old arts and laugh.

I started making arts for GreenBlue since last year, and by now my art has improved a lot. I met many OldRivalShippers which make me very happy since people still remember about this ship and at the same time, kidnap new members for the shipdom ( ˙꒳​˙). If you ask me "what is Oldrivalshipping to you?", I will definitely say they are my everything for real lol. I made standee, stickers, orders dolls and cosplay outfits for them. I simply delete "Stress.exe" out of my brain everytime I see them together. Slowly, they just become my reason to keep moving on in life, like- I want to study and finish university, get a job and things so that I can make a room to store OldRivalShipping goods, or buy their figures and doujinshi from my fav Japanese stores. I know it sounds stupid, but it's good for my mental health and I need it. I simply love GreenBlue and I will keep drawing them until the day I die lmao. So basically I wanna make an oc x cannon thing but I wanna share my oc, her outfits, backstory, and more info on her sooo ya.

Also I just wanna say that she’s Edalyn’s daughter so I figured I should use younger her as a base since they are mother and daughter, also I apologize for the sloppy art but heres the stuff.

And there will most likely be more outfits.

(I’ll be telling what each outfit is for - left to right - but if you don’t understand I’m sure you will after I describe them!

Soooo those are her outfits and the bird on her shoulder is her palisman which I’m about to show.

Her palisman’s name is Piper, which I was also list info about after Venus.

And then heres her beast form.

Okay so, the first outfit of hers is her sailor uniform which was when Luz and her went to slay the Selkidomus on an Emperors ship which Eda had robbed while they were on it. Also where Venus met the Golden Guard (I can’t decide on a name pls help if you want/can)

The second outfit is my original idea for her to be in the Emperors Coven so it’s scrap but I might have use for it in the future.

Her third outfit is also for the Emporors coven but it’s the thin layer of clothes that she has under the cape, armor, and all that stuff but i might use it for her Grom outfit, or a sneaky outfit, maybe both though. Could just be her casual/date outfit, who knows.

Fourth outfit is her Hexside outfit, even though she doesn’t ever go and just decides to learn from Edalyn instead. She prefers learning with Eda since shes much more fun then the teachers at Hexside. However she does go from time to time just to see Edric and Emira Blight, but to also check up on Luz and her friends to see how they’re doing.

Fifth is her flyer derby outfit, nothing much to explain really. The brightest outfit of all of them.

I decided that she’s afraid of heights so she won’t be on the flyer derby team she’ll just be a cheerleader. (I’ll give her a different outfit)

Lastly, her sixth outfit. Just a loose shirt that covers her shorts, along with thigh-high socks and some sort of animal slippers.

The yellow gem on her chest is for the same reason as Eda, because Edalyn had a child a while after getting cursed. The child was cursed too and they hadn’t realized because when Eda got cursed she was 15 so her daughter’s curse will not show until she is 15 which she is currently. (idk its just how I think about it don’t hate please.)

Uhhh I’m not sure if theres anything else to explain..so I guess I’ll just start writing the backstory even though I don’t know a lot about Eda’s past after she was cursed but here we go!

Venus hoped that she’d get to live with her mother, Edalyn Clawthorne, after having to stay with her always yelling father. Due to her mother’s criminal records, she wasn’t allowed to keep her daughter. Being the person she was though, she took her without any regrets. Edalyn didn’t care about Venus’ father after learning the bad person he was.

Not much of a backstory but Venus started living with Eda at the age of 4 and started learning how to stay confident, strong, and powerful. She was also welcomed into ‘The Bad Girls Coven’ by her mom. I’ll make her an outfit with the shirt.

Also if/when I write the story we’re gonna learn more about Venus, I guess. I’ll make sure to put trigger warnings whenever a chapter is released.

Ok so I thought I might introduce my own Cookie Run OC since I just finished drawing those of other people. Cuz like...why not? I'm bored.

Admittedly, I did not draw him a lot, nor did I use him a lot. However, he still grew very close to my heart so I feel the need to share his existence with others.

His name is Chocolate Butter Cookie, but I like calling him Butters for short. He is based of those cookies that are partly covered in chocolate, because idk. They just came to my mind when I first decided to make an OC.

I thought that Butters sounded a lot like the word butler, so obviously, he is a private butler. In my headcanon, Almond and Latte Cookie are exes and ever since they divorced, Almond needed help around his house and with baby Walnut Cookie, so he hired Butters. With time, Butters pretty much became a secondary father figure to Walnut and part of the family.

He is a very polite and calm individual. Butters prioritizes his work over anything and tries his very best to make sure, that everything is taken good care of under his watch. He encouraged Walnut Cookies dreams of becoming a detective and, when she was much younger, would set up small crime scenes in the house for her to solve as a game.

Butters is also a little naive and oblivious. He doesn't understand when he is getting scolded and takes angry rants as criticism, or when someone is flirting with him he assumes they're just being nice. He also loves children and, whenever he has free time, will spend it playing with the kids in the kingdom.

The very first art piece of him was also made by someone else, however I am so embarrassed by this account that I don't even wanna ask them to use their art, so unfortunately I won't show it here. However, I still have my own art of him.

The first finished piece was posted on October 21st, but I don't remember if that was the date I drew it. I often tend to write the dates my drawings are made next to my signature, however, I didn't do it with this one because I'm stupid.

Since he is, as a cookie, half dipped into chocolate, I thought it would make sense if his human form had vitiligo. Also as much as I love those sexy butler outfits, I thought giving him a more simple outfit would look nice too.

This is the closest I have to an actual drawing of him in the cookie run art style. I'm not good at it, nor did I really try if I'm being honest, but I think it shows his design in the game quite well. As you can probably tell, I changed his hair too, since the old style was a real pain in the butt to draw.

By the way, I doubt anyone actually cares a lot, but I think he'd be a defense or charge cookie. Just throwing this out there lol. Maybe even a support. Who knows.

This is also a pretty recent drawing of him. I struggled a lot with his skin, because I couldn't get the color right or get the vitiligo to look okay, but this is why I'm practicing it after all.

Also let's all take a second to appreciate those buttons. They were made to look just like the cookie is based on, and I think that looks pretty cool.

I got some more art, but it's ship art, so I'll probably share it some other day.

While we're at it: I personally ship Butters with Almond Cookie. I think their dynamic is pretty fun and that they have potential. However that does not mean that any other ships with Butters are off limits. So even if you ship your own OC with Almond Cookie, feel free to interact lol.

Other ships I can see work are Butters with Espresso, Latte or even Roquefort Cookie. Maybe even Sparkling Cookie. I really don't mind any ships, as long as they are legal.

This is all. I'm just ranting and I doubt anyone is actually reading this much about someone elses OC, but since I have nowhere else to spam my random bs, I'm gonna continue using this blog as a place to be annoying.

A writer from Schneznaya who was driven from his home for his anti-Tsaritsa paper.

Physical description:

A chubby fellow in a 1950's style noir trenchcoat and hat, some would even say he looks like he jumped right out of a noir comic book and into reality. He has brown hair and green eyes, a cowboy mustache, and a pointed beard like some kind of comic book supervillain genius.

He often acts confidently and even a bit egotistical when in places he's recognized and famous in, however in newer places he often seems distant and shys away from almost all contact.

Noone knows where his vision is, but they know he has one because of the cold aura that surrounds him.

At night he'll often trade his outfit for one more reminiscent of demons or vampires.

Abilities:

Weapon type: Catalyst

Basic attack-truth: uses his catalyst to shoot a short burst of up to 3 ice shards, can attack in fast succession.

"Truth hurts, especially in bursts"

Charged attack-Bifrost: Alexander quickly makes an ice clone behind the enemy and fires 6 shots, this can increase to 3 clones if charged enough(times: 1 for 1 second, 2 for 2 seconds, and 3 for 2.5 seconds)

"I hate crowds, best company has always been myself"

Elemental ability-ice wall: creates an aura of sheer cold around himself that will damage enemies the more they stay in it, and apply the normal sheer cold to them. Does not affect party.

"My therapist said I put up walls because of trauma, but I couldn't hear them through the wall I had just built"

Elemental burst-a story to be told: Alexander takes out his book and opens to a random page, then randomly summons ice sculptures of one of 8 beings:

"Aster": this summon looks like the flatwoods monster, it surrounds the party in a swirl of ice blades that deal 2X damage as the character for 10 seconds.

"Who needs brawn, when you got brain"

"Ultimate foe": a demonic, pointy being of shadow. Will independently deal 25000 damage to three random foes.

"Meet my penultimate friend"

"Beethoven": a sculpture reminiscent of a ww1 zombie general, calls down a barrage of ice bombs that deal 5000 damage to enemies hit for 7 seconds.

"Good scifi doesn't predict, it prevents"

"Sorrows Joy": an angelic, faceless, robot like humanoid that spawns 25 angel shaped traps that freeze enemies around the character.

"With any luck, you're the only real one I've made"

"Death rider and the magic prince": two statues, one of a mummy like Schneznayan mystic of ancient barbarian times and the other an elven cavalry knight from the myths of mondstadt. The knight gives the party a 45% boost to speed and attack while moving, and the Schneznayan gives +10% damage bonus to elemental skills and +55% damage bonus to Catalyst.

"Feel the wrath of honor long passed"

"Zero point and Lion queen": a knightly man of spiked armor and a golden ottoman warrior woman whose golden chain completely obscures her head. Your enemies become inflicted with pyro and you are surrounded by thorn bushes that deal continuous damage of 1000 for 10 seconds.

"Walk down the way on a moonlit day"

The traveler: a child in a red straight jacket, his binds become undone after 4 seconds at which point all enemies take 10,000 X Alexander's level of damage.

"I uh,wont have to pay any copyrights will I?"

"Giota": a child in pyjamas who looks ready to sleep, this summon is very rare. It fully restores all party members and gives a 200% boost to both defense and damage of your characters.

"This fella's been with me since I was a kid"

"If it is a soldier's duty to escape the confines of a prison, is it not every person's duty to escape reality if even for a moment? A wise man said that, pray that I may one day be like him."

Passive-part the wasteland: Alexander is immune to sheer elements, and Grant's 50% resistance when in the party to all members.

Story

Abandoning a dream

As a kid, Alexander was always put down when he said he wanted to write fiction, "there's no money in it" they all said.

He couldn't get into any art schools without support so he focused his mind elsewhere, a place he could hopefully use his writing to do just as much good: the first newspaper in Schneznaya.

Horrible truth

He didn't start as a trouble maker, but the more he sought out the truth the more he couldn't stand back and watch. He published numerous papers about the Tsarista's wrongdoings and the crimes of the fatui, how they would harass merchants in other nations, the unfair taxes many shipping businesses had to keep quiet about, all the way up to the war crimes the Tsarista had done in direct contradiction to her own laws.

Sadly, not many believed him even with evidence, but some got his message.

Those who fight

One day Alexander was approached by a man who claimed to have formed a resistance against the fatui. Alexander had inspired many people to disrupt the organization, and have even begun working with those outside Schneznaya.

With their help he didn't just publish some crimes, he published them all, he even got information that turned the general public against the fatui even if just a little.

In a way h had achieved his dream of helping others with his writing, even if it wasn't how he wanted.

Stop the presses

When the Tsarista started her big move of taking gnosis, she brought the hammer down on dissent like a boulder on a ten year old's wrist. One day a squad of thirty fatui stormed Alexander's home and business to silence him, and while they shut down his business they couldn't catch him.

Alexander fled into the wastelands of ice and snow and wasn't seen for several weeks.

Deus ex Vodka

One day Alexander showed up in Inazuma, a nation that had been oppressed for some time now and had recently reached it's height, yet no resistance had formed.

That was until Alexander came along.

Alexander published numerous books, spreading them throughout Inazuma. All of them spoke of freedom, of bravery, of rising up to achieve your ambitions.

And with those stories he inspired countless to take up arms, and in turn inspired countless to join the resistance.

And with mere fiction he had brought about hope,

And with mere fiction he shall do it again, in every form, and in every nation.

Vision: cold hearted

While wondering the waste Alexander fell down and looked to the skies.

He did not ask celestia why, he did not grieve or blame that he did not do more, instead Alexander did something he hadn't done in a long time:

He imagined.

And after he imagined he took out his notebook and wrote. In the freezing cold for seventeen days he wrote stories of hope and freedom.

For seventeen days the cold did not so much as cause him to flinch as he wrote tales of bravery.

For seventeen days Alexander Vodka lived how he wanted to live.

And at the end, he lied down to die.

Then a light shown, and when he opened his eyes to look he saw that the storm parted around him, and in his hand was an ice blue gem.

But Alexander was too paranoid from years of abuse from his peers as a child to wear it loosely, and far to extra to just get a lock. So instead Alexander shouted to celestia "if I shall have this Vision for my art, then it shall not kill me no matter what I do!"

He then shoved the vision into his heart and fell down.

Before he could bleed out however, a woman appeared.

"Hey Tsari, how ya doin." Alexander said as blood poured out his mouth.

"You dramatic fool," the Tsarista sighed as she put a hand on his chest, "you have my element, do you know how bad it'll look for me if you die by shoving your vision into your heart?"

"Why do you care? We hate eachother, in case you forgot."

The archon sighed, "you're just rebelling against what you see as unjust, just as I am. To be honest I feel a sort of rivalry with you, so it'd be a shame if you just died. Also," she painfully shoved the vision all the way in, painfully, "if your going to die it better be because of me, got it?"

Then Alexander sat up, and the god was gone. Along with the hole in his chest.

"Rival of a god eh?" He sat up, putting his gat back on his head, "I like the sound of that."

How is this an insert?

Well his story can't be the exact same as mine, so I took my life and goals and made predictions, then fictionalized those predictions and expanded.

His appearance is pretty close to how I'll likely look based on my current appearance, and his dramatic attitude is exactly how I wanna act.

Him being shy in new places with strangers is me exactly as I am now really, however I do believe I'd act confidently if I were famous so he does as well.

Him being Catalyst is because I'm not athletic at all, and I figured a dps Catalyst would be cool. His main ability and resistance/immunity to sheer cold is based on how I wrap up in warm blankets when it's cold, and his ultimate is made up of characters I've made.

Manga reviews!

I’ve read quite a few of the Madoka Magica manga, mostly to find witches.... So I thought I’d do a little review of the ones I’ve read! Enjoy! (also, they’re my own opinions and it’s meant to be a little funny so I exaggerate a little... so please don’t get angry!! Also kinda spoiler-y)

Madoka Magica (og manga)

Just a really compressed version of the anime. Has some changes but not often good... I only have the first one in physical and I think it’s the only one I’ll get cause it’s the most interesting part. 0/10 cause they completely removed Gisela... Also not too fond of the art style, some things are drawn really badly.. Though I’ve fallen in love with manga Gertrud. Not too fond of it but I like having the manga on my shelf. 4/10 watch the anime instead

Madoka Magica Rebellion

Will be biased cause I love rebellion. A really lovely manga, better than the og manga cause it doesn’t compress the story and even expands it. Suits three volumes better than the original. Treats familiars really well, we get bonus bartels, dora and polina~~! Doesn’t have all the fun of the movie cause it obviously doesn’t have the amazing soundtrack but it’s a really nice manga anyway. Bebe is drawn really well but the Clara Dolls aren’t. 9/10 almost as good as the movie

Kazumi Magica

Plot: seven magical girls trying to do good stuff and Kazumi, the protag, has amnesia I was surprised how much I loved this manga... I enjoyed it so much and got attached to almost all the characters. Though, spoilers, all my favourites either died or turned out to be evil... Lots of plot twists. LOTS. A wonderful lack of kyubey too... I found the story to be so intriguing. It took a spin on the original series far better than - imo - Oriko did. Really ace witches too. Only downside was sometimes the art. Too many ass shots thanks. Also a lot of the magi outfits were a tad distasteful (and some distasteful jokes too). 8/10 pretty darn good

Oriko Magica

Plot: two girls want to kill Madoka cause they know about Homu’s shenanigans. Has a pretty out there story, gets quite serious at the end. First time reading I didn’t care about it but I’ve grown fond of some of the main characters like Oriko, Kirika and Yuma. I found Kirika annoying and op first time reading. The addition of the original Madoka characters feels weird even though they are in the same universe. Original characters are also sometimes unrecognisable because of the art style. I almost never recognised Kyoko... The bonus stories are really fun, I liked them a lot. They’re short but nice. New and interesting witches too! I probably preferred Extra and Sadness prayer to the original story (Sadness prayer is like, basically a retelling of the og Oriko story but better) 6/10 for main story (feels a bit like babies first fanfic), side stories are probably a 7/10 (writer probs had more experience)

The Different Story

Plot: Mami and Kyoko backstory plus a spin on the original story. A really fun and interesting read, especially if you like Mami or Kyoko a lot. I loved the expansion of the original characters, it’s really great. I got a bit lost at the end but I was kinda scanning through... Art is by the same artist as the original manga but it’s certainly improved. Really amazing witches too~! Read it again when I got volume 1 for Chrimbo and its far sadder than I remembered... hm. Lovely art though, and very powerful scenes 7 or 8/10. I’d need to read it in full again to give a better judgement

Suzune Magica

Plot: Very edgy, lots of die. Never got attached to Suzune like I did with the Oriko characters. Some costume designs are also gross and pervy. Didn’t find it memorable and didn’t care much about the characters. Nice witches though. 3/10

Haven’t read Tart magica and don’t have any opinions on it yet. Hate the artist so I don’t think I will ever read it. (witches also look like afterthoughts... boooo)

Wraith Arc

Gave it a scan aaannndd.... didn’t enjoy it...... found it so boring. Wraiths are so boring as the enemy. Bland and have no character or inu curry flair. I feel you’d really enjoy it if you adored Homura and Madoka. I don’t so... I don’t think my opinion would be justified for this one.

Homura’s Revenge

Plot: Homura, Madoka and Kyubey go back in time before Madoka turns God. I. HATED. This one. Sigh.. It was the most frustrating manga I’ve ever read. Kyubey just gets in the way and not in a funny or clever way. Kills off Mami too early too. The witch designs are also crap like the artist don’t care about them. Illustrated by the same artist as Tart Magica and they’re a creep so it’s an automatic ‘euch’. Homura just resets in the end anyway. Just like Wraith Arc, I feel you’d like it more if you really liked Homura and Madoka 1/10 I liked the part with Elly and that’s it

The Veranda of Madoka

Plot: All five girls are living in the same house as sisters. Spoilers, this is my favourite manga... it’s so so cute and lovely! It’s a 4Koma (four square panels for a joke/story but sometimes has longer stories) manga with cute humour and fun stories. You really care about the girls and want them to be happy together. I’ve only read volume 1 cause it’s the only one translated but I really wanna read the rest cause it seems to add Nagisa. Only downsides are it has some tasteless jokes like breast sizes and Homura’s sometimes kinda pervy towards Madoka (remember, they are sisters in this one) but those things are rare in the long run. Has lesbian Hitomi which increases the score tenfold. The art style is also adorable, I prefer it to PAPA’s current style honestly. 9.5/10 would be 10 if it didn’t have some questionable jokes sometimes

Mitakihara Anti Materials

Plot: Homura accidentally winds up living with Mami. I thought I was gonna hate this one. Turns out I love this one. If you ship Homura and Mami, it’s the best, but it also works well for a platonic friendship. It’s a lovely slice of life with lots of fluffy bits with Homu and Mami but also the other girls. Sayaka also for some reason has the super hots for Mami (I mean, who wouldn’t). Sadly, has some tasteless jokes like Veranda which bring it down. Taking pictures of people against their will and body-swapping, I just wasn’t into it... Art is pretty generic but works just fine. 8/10

Mami Tomoe’s everyday life

Plot: The girls are older. Excuse me while I vomit. Read a few pages and quickly ran. CLEARLY written by a perverted old man. The girls are all married and only talk about husbands and their weight and things men think women talk about. Also. Homura is married to Tatsuya, excuse me while I hurl again. Just look at the covers and you can tell the artist is a porn artist. -10/10 kill it

Welcome to Cafe Grief Seed

Plot: The girls work at a cake cafe. I um, love this one, it’s so soft and wonderful. The art style is so adorable, I’ve shamelessly stolen it for some of my art cause I love it that much. It’s a sweet mix of Sailor Moon and Ghibli. The pages are laid out like 4Koma but like Veranda, they often have longer stories. The take on the witches are really fun and imaginative too (they’re simply problematic customers). A really nice and harmless read (no pervy jokes, thanks). 9/10 wish it was longer and the artist seems to have not done anything else...

Pomu Magi

Plot: Homura is tiny and chibi for some reason. Reeeaalllyy didn’t gel with this one. Seems kinda like someone’s fetish... Just felt weird, I stopped reading quickly. Not disgusting like Everyday Life but made me feel uncomfortable. 0/10

Mahou Shoujobu

Plot: the girls make a magical girl club in a school shared with witches. Although it apparently involved witches it barely included them. LIES. Disappointed, Homura was also really weird too. 1/10 got to see witches but they weren’t portrayed well

Homura Tamura

Plot: take a look at lots of different timelines. I liked this one but damn it was all over the place. Every chapter is a different wacky timeline, and I mean wacky. A world where Mami rules and everyone wears hair drills, a world where Sayaka drives an Oktavia mech. Wacky. Kinda hard to follow first time through. But funny and quite charming. Made me laugh out loud sometimes. On a re-read for images I enjoyed it just as much as the first time, even more. 8/10 good if you like humour and silly jokes

motivation - so in true me fashion and my aversion to brevity, i've made three (3) posts (see also writers, gifs/edits) to celebrate the wonderful people in this fandom who have made my jatp tumblr experience what it is; a community of people who simply shout into the void about their love of a ghost band and their fearless female leader. i've enjoyed simply being on the sidelines admiring everyone's love for the show, but i thought this would be a good time to really show my appreciation for all these wonderful people, because if i've learned anything from this pandemic, it's that there is NEVER a wrong time to tell someone that they are simply ✨the best✨.

objectively the most badass name for a tv show

anyways here's my review of the first season. it is ranked. but rankings change depending on whether I wanna look at pretty animation or be invested in characters/story. there are short, slightly (extremely) stupid reviews next to them too.

(Also rankings are so hard. Am I basing it off of rewatchability? how impressed I was on the first watch? would I want to go back to that world? the animation? the characters? my investment in the story? Currently, I'm going off of what feels right and how excited it makes me basically)

18. The Dump: Eh. I couldn’t get into it. Boring animation, like it was definitely good quality, but nothing particularly interesting. Like okay, dumpster monster. Cool cool cool. This felt so long when it was relatively a shorter episode.

17. Alternate Histories: Never have I been so disappointed so fast. The premise sounded so cool, I was really hoping they’d go realistic with this one, explore some really interesting theories/possibilities. If I look at it objectively, pretty okay. I liked hitler’s long legs, did not enjoy the weird prostitute part, and had an okay time at the ending. Eh.

16. When the Yogurt Took Over: I don’t get it. Oh wow, humans are so dumb even the yogurt left us. Or oh wow they were so smart they got everything they wanted genius yogurt. Okay so? I didn’t care about anything happening, because I got over it kinda fast.

15. Lucky 13: Fun. I love pilots loving their ships, especially with this slightly sentient(?) ship thing going on. I enjoyed the rise to the top, could’ve been a less predictable fall perhaps.

14. Ice Age: Great start, I was hooked from the second the civilization started developing. Might’ve helped that I was high as fuck while watching this. Didn’t really go anywhere, there was no resolution, no reason, nothing. Honestly just felt a little underdeveloped, they should’ve pushed it a little. Very cool premise though.

13. Beyond the Aquila Rift: I don’t fully get the hype not gonna lie. Like I was interested definitely but the twist didn’t blow my mind it just seemed like it made sense. Didn’t have the ‘oh fuck’ moment and wasn’t especially blown away by the animation

12. Sucker of Souls: My favourite part of this was when they literally killed the exchange student. Very fun. Also when his head was split in half and it split into layers. Other than that, eh. The cat thing was interesting but then they never actually used it so what was the point. It just went nowhere and wasn’t that cool. Okay, I take that back the chase scenes/fight scenes/anything action was very engaging.

11. Shape-Shifters: I agree with that one guy who said bad-ass. I love it when fight scenes are actually all out because you KNOW motherfuckers tend to hold back for the sake of plot or whatever. I like it as a short though because it’s interesting to think about, I’m just not too interested in seeing where it goes after. (Which is a good thing because they did all the fun things in the short).

10. Three Robots: Really interesting, loved the characters, loved their skewed understanding of human history (kinda makes me question how much we really know about the past). Odd ending but high me was impressed

9. The Secret War: I was super into it. I love a good fight scene, great backstory, great animation. I just watched Aquaman and the creatures reminded me of those guys from the trench, especially with the flare at the end and I’m not complaining.

8. Blindspot: Why does this episode get hate. It’s a heist with robots how is it boring. I personally love heists, especially in the fast&furious style thing. I loved the characters too, and I’m now questioning my ability to get attached to robots this fast. Also enjoyed the murder, because I’m so used to people being saved at the last minute. I would definitely watch the fuck out of this movie because there could definitely be fun ways to fuck with the whole ‘there are no stakes because we can’t die’ thing.

7. Suits: PERFECT. So perfect there is nothing wrong with this like absolutely nothing wrong. I was into it, loved the robots, loved the characters, loved the world. Would wanna go back into this world and see more of it. Just the idea of casual alien encounters is so fun to me. I’d definitely watch this movie. Honestly felt bad when Jake died which is surprising with an 18-minute runtime. Basically, I view this as a little Pixar version of the show and I had a fun time.

6. Fish Night: So pretty so mesmerising so mystical. I wish the fish part went on for longer I would’ve watched the shit out of it. I kinda wanna go and see that whole scene again. Great short. Very perfect.

5. Helping Hand: Gravity but gory. Did not see it coming so it was a very fun surprise. Nothing wrong with this and I would watch again. Especially liked the part where no one somehow managed to save her and she figured it out on her own. (Not from a feminist point of view, more from a predictability point of view)

4. Sonnie’s Edge: Brilliant fucking animation (when the neon outfits/parts thing came I had to replay several times), great fight scene. I shouldn’t have been deceived by that dude’s girlfriend but she was good, so when she extended her nails through Sonnie’s skull it was great. Apart from the animation and the direction, the story did kinda fall flat now that I think about it. Like it felt a bit, okay so? types I think.

3. Good Hunting: Very great animation, great story, great storytelling. Loved the world and the way the world developed. Loved the automatons. Loved the combination of magic and machine. I didn’t expect her to be able to transform at the end so that was extremely fucking cool. Loved that she got her agency back and that the son was able to break away from his father’s habits. Hated seeing that one guy’s dick.

2. The Witness: SEXIEST animation. Spider-verse vibes especially with the bang! or whatever and I wish there was so much more of this. I was definitely more interested in the action sequences than in the weird sex stuff mostly because I saw no point to that. What was the point of the whole vladmir character when we don’t even know what he’s like. Like he was given way too much importance in my opinion. Technically she didn’t even have to leave that room. The loop stuff was pretty cool though like I had to go back to the beginning to make sure because- slight mindfuck. But I think this animation, and this beautiful beautiful world, was wasted on this average ass story. Could’ve been way cooler.

1. Zima Blue: Oh god this was a good fucking episode. Didn’t think it was gonna be this good. First of all the art itself was so cool. The were spray painting literal space rocks you cannot get more anything than that. Then his whole story? His origin? His truth? FUCK me. Also the animation was so distinct. It was so, it’s own. So specific. And it worked so well with the story. I don’t want anymore of this short in the best way possible. Also I thought of this art thing that starts like this but the blue starts becoming better and then a whole universe comes out of the blue and it starts right back where he started - murals of the universe. And his final work is a universe with like a tiny blue square to show that it repeats forever? Idk what that means but I kinda wanna make it but it’d definitely be plagiarism. Also I can’t do art.

Summary: Patton wanted to spend one on one time with the others but unexpected messages make them cut the bonding time short.

Note: This is actually the first time I'm writing Janus/Deceit °v°.

Patton had asked Virgil if he wanted to hangout this morning so they were in his room cuddling and talking.

"Ahhh this is relaxing...." Virgil said quietly

"Yeah this is" replied Patton

"I don't ever wanna leave..." said Virgil

"Well you don't have to it's only 8:30" Patton said happily

"W-wait? 8:30??"

"Mhm, that's what I said"

"Oh no, oh no I'm late!" the anxious side said getting out of the warm and toasty blankets.

"Late for what?" Patton asked

"O-oh umm.....R-roman asked me to help him" he stammered

"With what?"

Virgil knew that Patton was just curious to why he was leaving so soon, but he was a bit embarrassed to say. So he came up with a lie and hopefully it was believable.

"To....to....to help him chose some clothes for a new outfit" Virgil said with an awkward smile.

"Oh ok then you go, don't wanna keep royalty waiting" Patton smiled

"Thanks Pat!" and then he was gone

Now that Virgil was gone Patton found himself wanting more bonding time. So he went to Logan's room to ask if he wanted to hangout.

On his way though he heard something unusual...was that laughter? Patton tried to ignore it but it was hard to not think about it. Once he arrived at Logan's door he knocked then asked if they could spend some time together. Which Logan happily agreed to and beckoned him to come in his room.

It had been about 15-20 minutes and Patton and Logan were playing a mind game. To Patton's surprised he was winning but Logan wasn't that far behind. He seemed distracted so he ask him if something was wrong, but he said it was nothing.

After about 10 more minutes Patton heard Logan's phone beep, he picked it up and handed it to him.

Virgil- Hey specs your appointment is ready

Logan- Ah thank you but I'm with Patton at the moment and I'm not sure what to do

Virgil- Oh you can just use my little excuse but tweak it a bit so its not suspicious

Logan- I will thanks

"Oh my apologies Patton but I may have to excuse myself"

"For?"

"I'm afraid Virgil acquires my assistance"

"With what?"

"He wants a second opinion on Roman's outfit that he chose" Logan said clearing his throat.

"Hmm ok"

"Will you be fine?"

"Oh yeah, don't worry about me!" Patton said smiling

Logan just nodded and left in a hurry

And again Patton was left alone, it was getting harder to put on a smile because he just wanted to spend some time with the others. Now it seems as though their avoiding him? but he didn't want to think that was case.

Then just like before he started to hear laughter again.

Patton wanted to go and see for himself to why he was hearing laughter but he saw Roman in the living room.

"Hiya Ro"

The creative side turned his head and smiled

"Hey Padre"

Now Patton just had to know...if he was also going to have to leave.

"So are you busy?"

"Hmm, right now no but later I have plans"

He has plans, I wonder for what? Does it have to do with everyone? Is it linked to the laughter I've been hearing? Bunches of questions were going through his head.

"Why do you ask?"

"Just wondering hehe, anyway wanna hangout?"

"Sure"

Then both of them went to Roman's room. They were listening to disney music and singing along to them.

It had already been awhile and Patton was starting to keep an eye on when Roman had his plans. The only weird thing was Roman kept checking his phone like he was expecting a notification soon. Then soon enough his phone dinged and Patton noted the way Roman smiled and bit his lip.

"Hey Pat I'm afraid we have to cut this short I'm sorry"

"I know you have plans correct?"

"Yep" he said as he turned to leave but was stopped when Patton grabbed his tunic.

"Wait a minute"

"Umm y-yes?"

"What exactly are these plans?"

Roman knowing how Patton can be sometimes, handed him a blank piece of paper. When Patton was confused to why he handed him a piece of paper, he used that to escape before Patton had the chance to ask about it.

Patton looked at the paper it wasn't blank it had something on it. It looked like a phone number and it said 'Call to schedule an appointment with Doctor Giggles'. Who's that? Patton thought. So without question he quickly dialed the number in his phone.

When the person on the other side pick up they said hello

"Hi this is Patton Sanders"

"Hello Mr. Sanders" the voice replied

"I'd like to schedule an appointment"

"Oh excellent, your appointment should be soon I will contact you as soon as we're ready"

"Ok thank you" and then he hung up

Also when he was in the call he noticed Roman's laughter echoing through the phone but it wasn't that loud. That seemed to raise Patton's suspicion even more than it was.

About a half and hour later his phone buzzed. He picked up the phone and saw he got a message. Patton clicked the message and read it and it said 'Your appointment is in a few minutes the Doctor is ready for you, here are directions to the room.

Directions? Patton thought. So he followed the directions to the door. Patton took a good look at the door and he didn't recognize it. He knew the Mind Palace very well and did not recall ever seeing this room before, maybe Roman made it?

Patton was now ready to see what was waiting for him on the other side. He slowly opened the door and saw a silhouette of a person. It took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust to the different lighting and when they did Patton was surprised to see....

"Janus? is that you?"

"Hmm? I do not know this Janus you speak of...I am Doctor Giggles"

"But you look just like him" the moral side looked from head to toe and that was indeed Janus in a doctors costume.

"Well we might have sssome sssimilarities but I assure you that we are not the sssame person"

"Ok I guess I made a mistake" Patton knew he was pretending so he might as well go along with it as well.

"Anyway Mr. Sanders would you please sit down over here and answer some questions"

Patton nodded his head and sat down

"Ok question #1 how ticklish are you?" he said with a smirk

Of course not knowing the doctor would flat out ask this question caught poor Patton of guard. He struggled to answer and his face was beginning to turn pink.

"I-im pretty...."

"Pretty what?

"T-ti..ti.t...sensitive"

"Hmm ok" and he wrote it down in his note book

"Question #2 what are your favorite tickle tools?

And again Patton struggled to answer (poor little bean)

"I-I would have to s-say f-feathers and t-toothbrushes"

"Ok good" and he wrote that down

"Last question, what are your worst spots?

"W-what?" Patton said face getting warmer

"You heard me" the doctor smiled

"M-my thighs....b-be-stomach..and n-neck/ears"

"Ok good job now please wait here while I get the preparations"

"O-ok" Patton listened but he still confused on why he had to answer those questions.

When the doctor came back it finally occurred to Patton.

"So would you like to be restrained?" asked the doctor

"Kind of" Patton blushed. "Can I have my feet restrained...?"

"Csssertainly" he said as he got some rope and tied Patton's ankles. Patton watched with a wobbly smile.

"Nervous are we?"

With a bright vibrant blush he nodded

"Awe cute, well that's quite alright because since this is your first time here you would be a little nervous. But I assure you your gonna have fun" he said as he looked Patton's in the eyes.

All Patton could do was look hopeful squirming in place, anticipation jumping to a whole nother level as he watched Doctor Giggles pick up a feather. And that feather looked very very very fluffy.

Already Patton was giggling even at the sight of the feather and wiggling his toes. The doctor walks over to his feet positioning the feather right at his toes getting ready to saw at the sensitive skin in between.

"Are you ready Patton?" the doctor asked

"M-mhm"

Just as the doctor got his reply he started to saw the soft fluffy feather in between his ticklish toes. Making Patton giggle hysterically and he tried multiple times to catch the feather with his toes. But only to met with a buzzing electric toothbrush being stuck in between his toes instead.

"Eeeeeahahahaha!! Nahaha!"

The doctor grinned "Silly you can't do that or you'll get even more tickles"

Then tie went on and the doctor went to different spots eliciting many giggles. Squeaks when he brushed the feather on his neck or ears, squeals when he squeezed his thighs and the bubbliest laughter when he got his adorable tummy.

After about a half-hour later of this playful tickling it was over.

"Haaah that was fun!"

"Hmm glad you enjoyed yourself"

Doctor Giggles untied Patton's feet and helped him to his feet.

"Please come again some time" the doctor smiled

"I will!" Patton shouted happily as he skipped through the door, he'd definitely need to schedule more appointments

For the character ask (you know I have to): Shad

I know you had to do it and I am very happy that you did it because I am always ready to talk about Shad. In fact, I’d be more sad if no one sent me Shad whenever there’s a character/shipping post.

Why I like them: He’s just so adorkable in the same vein of Milo Thatch or Otacon. And I don’t know how much of it is projection or canon at this point, but I relate to him quite a lot. He’s a nice guy and a good male option to pair with Link to have just a sweet, healthy relationship with—and there was a time where those options were very limited.

He’s good at reading but he wants to help, even though he doesn’t feel like he can contribute much—except he can. He gets visibly happy when Link says yes to listen to his research but also gets super pouty face when you tell him no. He’s got big blue puppy dog eyes that you can’t say no to and this one defiant curl that rests on his forehead

Why I don’t: There’s not too much to dislike about Shad, but I’m not a fan of the little Oocca faces on all of his buttons. Also, the fact that he has Oocca faces on his buttons makes me wonder how the Oocca have not already been discovered or depicted in some historical artifact. Like, how can he know what something looks like when he’s the leading researcher on the thing he’s trying to discover that no one else has seen before? How does he have Oocca faces when he’s never seen an Oocca before???

Favorite episode (scene if movie): When he’s in Kakariko Village studying the Owl Statue I love how he looks in his idle stance in the glow of the surrounding lamps casting an orange light on the red ochre walls around him.

Favorite season/movie: Not applicable, since only the one game, y’know. I’d love to see a direct TP sequel.

Favorite line: "Well, I'm formidable at book reading, but I lack, shall we say, physical skills.” Same, Shad, same.

Favorite outfit: He only has the one, lol But I also like seeing fan arts that put him in fancy clothes that he’d wear at Royal functions. And sweaters. Shad probably has so many sweaters. Shad probably even has lightweight summer sweaters because he looks good in sweaters.

OTP: Shadlink—I’m gonna try to be brief here but first, there’s the really nice opposites attract dynamic that they have and the ways that their differences in personality and skills can complement each other nicely. And there’s a nice height difference between them that I enjoy. That’s the long and short of it. For a more in depth explanation, see my body of work for reference.

Brotp: Ashei and/or Ilia— I want at least the four of them to be one big friend group that always has each other’s backs, ready to ride or die at any trouble, but also willing to call him out when he’s being a twat. Also, to tease him mercilessly about his crush on Link and play matchmaker for them.

Head Canon: Too many to count, but Shad is one of those students that the vast majority of his professors can’t stand. He always asks too many questions, takes too detailed notes, isn’t afraid of pointing out errors in their lectures, and is unfortunately their best student and the only one that ever raises his hand to answer their questions to the class. And the thing is that same feeling for some of his professors is mostly mutual from Shad. He’s often bored and half-asleep while growing increasingly vexed that somehow his esteemed professor in Zora literature doesn’t see much difference in Upper Zora versus Lower Zora in translation and believes it’s no different than saying the same word in a different accent when the connotations of words can mean vastly different things depending on the two.

Unpopular opinion: I’m not sure because I don’t think fans have much of an opinion of Shad to begin with. I have seen a handful of TP playthroughs that make fun of Shad and give him a mocking name or a silly voice, which I find disappointing because his character doesn’t do anything to warrant such mocking, aside from him being a nerd. It got really tiring to see, so much so that I don’t watch TP playthroughs anymore.

A wish: Most of my wishes for Shad involve a long and happy relationship with Link, but I know those will never be made canon. Something that could be made canon, however, is that either Link tells him about the City in the Sky or takes him there in a sequel game...and that Shad is Link’s companion throughout the whole game.

001 - Tales of Zestiria?

Favorite character: It's a tough call between Maltran and Symonne, and Lunarre is trailing right behind both. I tend to call them the "Heldalf Squad," but make no mistake, Heldalf himself isn't part of it. I just like his swagalicious minions. The dry and sarcastic political manipulator, the sadistic and wordy theater nerd, and the flamboyant cannibal who hates everything. Yes. LOVE. But I have to give a shout to my boy Dezel on the hero side! Angsty/stoic characters are very hit-or-miss with me, but Dezel is the flavor I love - obvious soft spots and quirks, and slowly he builds from being antisocial to showing how big his heart is. When he stops the woman from leaping off the Guinevere tower...that's one of my favorite scenes in the entire game, because you can see when the switch flips, when he realizes that he CANNOT stay aloof any longer when there's a stranger's life on the line. He's still a grump about it but a compassionate grump.

Least Favorite character: Heldalf. His backstory is really clever, and I like the curse on him. But he himself just feels like Ganondorf but more boring. I kinda hate that he's so vanilla when his three lieutenants are in my arsenal of pet villains from the vastness of fiction. Also shout-out to Chancellor BART in the opening Ladylake act, because I distinctly remember liveblogging this to a friend, and I played Zestiria *after* Berseria (I'd loved Berseria and that's why I eventually sought out Zestiria) so here I am just comparing up the corrupt church in Ladylake to the Abbey's suave rogues gallery like "Yeah no BART has nothing on Lady Teresa Linares." Thankfully BART was never seen again.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): DezeRose, SorMik, Symonne x Coco Atarashi (The World Ends With You), Alisha Diphda x Sergei Strelka, and...I swear you have to bear with me here...Zaveid x Anna (Frozen). I also kinda wanna note a couple ships I'm on the fence about for my other favies - those being Maltran x Ebony Maw (Marvel Cinematic Universe or Marvel Ultimate Alliance) and Lunarre x Arkham (Devil May Cry).

Character I find most attractive: Dezel. It is a scientific fact that guys with pointy teeth are just hotter.

Character I would marry: Maybe Dezel, maybe Sergei. I wouldn't want to take them from those I see as their wifeys, but at the same time, they are husband goals, both of them.

Character I would be best friends with: Catch me clinging to Maltran's train and she drags me along annoyedly as I yell "PLEEEEAAASE LET ME HANG OUT WITH YOU GUYS" and Lunarre is losing it laughing while Symonne rolls her eyes

a random thought: So I toyed around with basically every accessory I picked up, and I decided to put the sideburns on Rose because fuck gender roles. Well then I just got used to seeing her with facial hair in every cutscene where her 3D model was used, and now I headcanon that she does get it. Maybe nonclassical CAH intersex? Like, I don't necessarily see her as trans (but I support everyone who hc's her as such) but moreso "a cis woman, but I grow this stupid damn facial hair like a dude and I don't get why." And this is why you shouldn't let me play with customizable accessories on RPG characters because I can and will abuse my privilege to headcanon.

An unpopular opinion: That this is actually a very good game. Listen, I think I get it - the initial marketing promised something far different. And that's disappointing. But coming back to it several years after its release, after the release of its PREQUEL, when I never had that hype building up...it actually exceeded my expectations. I held off from it for a while because I thought Eizen's fate would make me too sad, but that didn't end up the case at all. I actually had just come off playing a more recently-released triple-A game that was hyped up for years, and I completed it to my satisfaction in 20 hours. $80 for 20 hours. Zestiria gave me my money's worth in comparison; it took me about 60, and I loved just how MUCH story it had to offer me. I honestly like Rose better than Alisha anyway (Rose was one of the biggest aspects that interested me about playing it in the first place). I've also seen complaints that the characters weren't well-developed enough? Which I just kinda take to mean "They didn't angst enough." Listen. There are PLENTY of games out there if you want angst and sad stories. I don't really like sad stories in my games. I like adventures where the party is a goofy foundfam that jokes around with each other and helps each other work through shitty situations, and that's EXACTLY what I got. (And Berseria really worked on me too because it kinda started at the bottom of the angst barrel, then worked its way up through "The edgy and tortured protag has gained a party of idiots and oh noooooo she's learning friendship and happiness.") Dezel's death is one of the few game deaths that just made me SATISFIED to watch instead of depressed because of the closure he got and the themes tied into his final moments and sacrifice. I loved going on this adventure, I loved the idiots who I went on it with, and I loved seeing what Glenwood had to offer me in world design the further I explored.

my canon OTP: There's not much for canon romance in this game, come to think of it. Just subtext and some flirting. So I'm blanking on if there actually were any canon couples at all.

Non-canon OTP: DezeRose! Which maybe can be considered almost-canon based on the amount of subtext, but still. It's adorable. (And it's the exact same dynamic as EiRoku except M/F and a thousand years later. I need these four to double date...the dual-wielding goofs with their edgy, grumpy Reapers...)

most badass character: Rose! Not only able to wield the Shepherd's Armatization powers, but also to be a dang good assassin on her own, able to hold her own against Heldalf before she even had her eyes opened to seraphim! Though a shout-out goes to Edna because her armatization was my favorite to play with. There's something just satisfying about bashing the enemy in front of you with a pair of GIANT FISTS

pairing I am not a fan of: RoseAli. To be honest, it was at one point something I kinda enjoyed as a third-tier ship for Rose (Dezel first, then Lailah in second). But then...Alisha's Story. I didn't actually purchase it, thank goodness, just watched it on YouTube, and it was the most grating addition that anyone could've made to this game. First of all, I can sum up the issues with Alisha's Story by reminding everyone that it canonized a secret entrance to Camlann that was much easier to get to and wasn't protected by Muse's sacrifice. But the real thing that hurt to watch was how far down they had to knock Rose and Alisha's friendship to get them to rebuild from scratch. Rose claiming she was never Alisha's friend because she's grieving Sorey? The two of them getting into a PHYSICAL FISTFIGHT over it? Nope nope nope. That's not my Rose. Even less my Rose is that whole scene where she...you know...pounces on Alisha to dress her in the silly noblewoman's dress, and it's framed like...let's just say it's really uncomfortable to watch if you don't know the punchline is just a silly outfit. Even though Alisha's Story isn't canon in my head, it still really killed any buzz I had for RoseAli. I will also say I'm not a big fan of Eizavie - first of all, EiRoku or bust in this house, and second, I have a little bit of a hard time seeing Zaveid as mlm due to how much he goes on and on about The Ladies(TM). (Though I could see Eizen as having a tiny crush on him, though. Just like "Oh no he's hot but he's connected to Aifread's disappearance help")

character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Mostly just in Alisha's Story. I was mad about the aforementioned Rose stuff, but also...like...they undid Lunarre's original cathartic death, they did so to team him back up with Symonne and then do a whole fakeout that they had Maltran with them too, but Maltran is just an illusion and immediately after this, Lunarre and Symonne just decide "Yeah, we're not gonna work together anymore, have a nice life." Why does Maltran need to stay dead if LUNARRE somehow survived EXPLODING? And just...look to next question for more clarification:

favourite friendship: I just want to imagine that Maltran, Lunarre, and Symonne were weird evil friends. The kind who'd take artistic selfies and caption them "Murder and mayhem with my besties!". Maybe they even had a sibling dynamic. They were all pretty dang jaded, so I like to think they sat around sometimes talking about the things in this world that did them wrong. The reasons they were drawn to Heldalf. Heldalf himself wouldn't have cared, he would've kicked them around like disposable tools, but the three of them were too entrenched in his dogma to see it. Maybe if they met up again after he was off the board...then they'd sing a different tune. Realize they're all three better than this, and now they're gonna do things THEIR way, because remember when they made a three-point attack on Glenwood and Sorey was barely able to keep up with them wrecking Lastonbell AND Pendrago AND Glaivend? Remember when Lunarre and Symonne had each other's backs the night Dezel died? Now they can do what they want on their terms! And I just - I have many MANY feelings about these three.

character I want to adopt or be adopted by: Okay silly self-insert time but the thing is, Archibald Snatcher (The Boxtrolls) and Roman Torchwick (RWBY) are my two favorite parental f/o's (and also my OTP to end all OTPs), and I have this thing about how they'd be PERFECT crime dads to Symonne in particular because she's like a little, more theatrical Neopolitan. So there's a universe in my head where Symonne is basically already my little sister, and I look out for her - well, okay, she's a seraph with powerful Artes and I am a powerless mortal so really she looks out for me because "I suppose SOMEONE has to make sure you don't die" and I am grateful to her for it.
