J.M. Dragunas appears out of nowhere!
We here at Nyancon are huge fans of this guy's unique art. If you've been to other comic shows and anime cons, and have seen his stuff.. you know what we're talking about. Feel free to stop by his table and chat! J.M. Dragunas hails from northern Ohio. A self taught illustrator, armed with naught but a quill, he specializes in antiquated illustrations. He spends most of his time working on his creator-owned series, ‘The Sires of Time’ a comic that follows the adventures of four time-traveling knights. Facebook | Website | Tumblr | Instagram

Christopher Lambert appears!
Being taught to read on comic books supplied by his father’s own Golden Age collection, Chris amassed a large comic book collection which spurred on his love of reading and writing. By the time Mr. Lambert was 16 years old, he was writing for the Cleveland rock and roll newspaper, The Scene Magazine. Chris spent three years with the paper, writing record and concert reviews as well as interviews with stars such as Eric Clapton, Badfinger, Kenny Loggins, Billy Preston, The Guess Who and Humble Pie. Getting back to his love of comics, Lambert amassed a giant collection of old and new comics and began writing about them, working with sci-fi great, Ron Goulart, on a Batman book. About that time he began teaching a comic book class at Lakeland Community College for a decade, switching over to also lecturing on film, Hitchcock and Orson Welles. Lambert then was approached to help write the national best seller, “Superman at 50” book, one of the first academic looks at super heroes. From there he became a columnist for the News Herald for a dozen years. He wrote humor, features, reviews and of course a weekly comic book column. It was at this point that he was approached to write a national comic book entitled, “Happy,” while also writing for the White House as Mrs. Barbara Bush had Chris write for her PLUS program (Project Literacy U. S.). Writing for television came next as Mr. Lambert contributed to an episode of, “VH-1, Behind the Music.” Chris then began writing and performing his own radio show on the subject of comic books. The show ran for three years. More recently, Mr. Lambert has been writing adventure novels, and writing for his web-site, E-Comics Gazette. His blog on comic books, “Comics: Don’t Get Me Started!” is seen through the News-Herald blog site. In a recent contest of bloggers/ columnists/writers, Mr. Lambert finished 3rd in the entire country. Now he spends his time writing more novels and research essays for Kirby Kollector, Alter-Ego and more, while finishing up a three year stint as a radio talk show host and performing his one man play, “Orson Welles, a Life.” He frequently speaks at Barnes and Noble in Mentor and at local libraries and can be reached at HERE.

Nyancon just got Del-tastic!
Del Borovic is our resident orange-loving professional freelance illustrator and comic artist friend. She is a 2008 graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design with a BFA in Sequential Art. Del has been a freelance artist for over eight years, specializing in digital artwork. Her true love is comics, and creating emotional, character-driven works. Between working she makes time for personal creative projects including original stories, graphic novels and ongoing character pieces. She can be found cosplaying along with her girlfriend Lindsey (Check out Delsey Cosplay. Trust me on this.) and attending conventions. Her comic work has been featured in the webcomic Midnight Tea Party, Afterlife's Dying to Tell collection, and The Uniques Tales to name a few. Her illustrations have appeared in many publications including Fantasy Flight Games' "Android: Netrunner" Card Game, the Oz Collectible Card Game, the covers of Kyt Dotson's Vex Harrow series, and as guest art in many comic anthologies. Con goers to Otakon might be familiar with her work, as she has done art featuring their mascot for their programs.. and helped draw our own Nyan-chan as the Magical Girl for this year's theme! You can also check out one of her latest works of art and character designs which is part of Inkhorn Games' Order Of Ancients, which is now on Kickstarter! She is always available for freelance comics and illustrations and continues to work on new projects. You can find her around the internet here: Site | Facebook | Tumblr | DeviantArt

WOAHHHHHH. 2D6 INVADES!
2d6 is here to rock the Nyancon stage!! Strap on your spats and lace 'em tight to prepare for high-energy nerd-themed hip-hop with a lot of hyphenates! Otherwise, you know, your spats might blow off, and then you'd lose your spats. No one wants to lose their spats! 2d6's rhymes are about the geekiest of geek topics: anime conventions, Boba Fett, Amedeo Avogadro, daikaiju, geek girls, and the like. Do you like rocking out? What about high-energy concerts? Stupid videos on big screens? Silly hats? Do you enjoy eating candy? We will throw some at you. Do you just need a comfortable place to chill out and read some Dostoevsky? THIS CONCERT IS FOR YOU. A little about 2d6: In 2009, in Youngstown, Ohio, a runaway cat and dog were just trying to find their way home. When they found a pair of mystical 6-sided dice, they were transformed into men who couldn't stop rapping. It was terrifying and a little upsetting to everyone involved. Be warned! Naughty language is involved. (16+ recommended) Find 2d6 at 2d6music.com!

Nyancon 2015 is a go!
Sorry for the silence on Tumblr.. but we got some news if you haven’t been following our website or Facebook page! Nyancon 2015 is being held this year on Saturday October 3rd! So mark your calendars! We are excited to be hosting our third Caturday and hoping you’ll join us for lots of fun! This year’s theme is Transform! From our website nyancon.org: “Ever felt like you're not quite who you're supposed to be? Find yourself having in-depth talks with animals, feeling like you're supposed to be a hero, or piloting giant mechs? Well you'll LOVE NyanCon's theme this year. The official theme of NyanCon 2015 is: Transform! Magical Girls, Super Sentai, Masked Heroes, and giant robots. If it transforms, it's part of the theme! Since NyanCon began, we've always encouraged everyone to truly be themselves, and we hope that this year's theme will bring out the hero (or villain!) inside of you! We can't wait to see what you'll do with this year's theme, and we'll be opening panel submissions very soon! “
Also, you can follow Nyancon at these other Social Media Outlets Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lccnyancon
