I really want the show to go into more detail about Husk's backstory as an overlord, partly because I feel like it's something the fandom is kinda glossing over and partly because it's lowkey one of the biggest obstacles that a Husk/Angel relationship would have into overcome.

'Loser Baby' emphasises the similarities between Angel and Husk's situations, but it also (probably deliberately, since Husk is the one leading it) brushes aside one of the most major differences between them.

Namely that when Husk tells Angel that he's not the only one who sold his soul, he's not just singing about himself.

Husk sold his soul to Alastor, yeah (or lost it at least, which amounts to the same thing), but he also traded in souls. He was that “psychopathic freak”, and was operating fro long enough to achieve Overlord status.

And, honestly? Having your soul owned by Husker back in the day probably sucked.

The one benefit of soul contracts for the person selling their soul is that they seem to get a fair amount of say in how the contract is written.

Angel's contract, for example, apparently has a clause stating that he's only under Valentino's jurisdiction when he's in the studio. (Which, btw, puts a whole other spin on why Val is so pissed when he moves out of studio accommodation and into the Hotel.) And Val is apparently bound to that. Even though he's pissed off and actively wants to put Angel in his place, he can't make any moves against him in the club.

Equally, since most overlords seem to be associated with a specific location/industry, you can generally choose who your working for and therefore roughly what kind of stuff you're gonna be doing.

In practice there seems to be a lot of manipulation and coercion going on on the part of the Overlords making these contracts— they're not fair by any means— but the sinners signing them are theoretically at least guaranteed the right to a (somewhat) informed choice and some control over the deals they make.

Having an Overlord who uses human souls to pay his gambling debts, however, completely undermines all that.

Imagine going into work for your job running the roulette games at the casino only to be told that the boss played a bad hand in a game with Valentino, and so you're a sex worker now.

Or being traded to someone who has you fighting turf wars for them, and realising that your contract doesn't have any clauses to protect your personal safety because you only signed up to be a bartender.

Or selling your soul for a job near your home and family so you can guarantee their protection, only to be traded to someone whose territory is on the other side of the pentagram.

Husk is a victim of his own addiction, yeah, which is one of the reasons why Angel relates to him. But his backstory implies that there must be a significant number of people out there who were also victims of Husk's addiction, and may not be as sympathetic. Dude basically owned other people as property (… we have a word for that) and then literally played games with their lives.

And like, I'm not saying he hasn't changed. He seems more empathetic on the show than his backstory would imply, and apart from anything else, he's had a pretty clear object lesson about what it's like to be on the receiving end of that sort of thing. (Ngl, I'm pretty sure one of the reasons Alastor keeps him around is because he's the type to find the irony amusing.)

But like, he's in this place where he can relate to Angel Dust's situation, while at the same time probably also being able to relate to Valentino and Alastor's perspectives (although I doubt he was quite as bad as Val to work for).

And I'm curious as to what would happen, later in the series, if the gang met someone who had sold their soul to Husk at one point. Someone who would also be able to relate to Angel's situation, but with Husk as their version of Valentino.

Ares, knowing your name and reputation - alongside the fact that his father himself was scared of you - thought you'd be as scary as you were described. Whenever your name was brought up in a conversation - which happened quite rarely - people who'd grow pale and start shivering, which scared Ares immensly, despite trying not to show it. You became a sort of boogeyman in his mind, the kind of creature you'd talk about to children to have them got to sleep. So when he actually met you and discovered you didn't appear to be that frightnening, he immediately warmed up to you, being the himbo he is. When you get close to each other, whenever he sees you, he lights up - which is kinda ironic if you think about it. Ares has his perks and self-preservation doesn't appear to be one of them. How he has become devoid of any fear towards you and instead showers you with affection is a mystery to you, but it's much appreciated. All the rumours surrounding you weren't enough to scare him away after all and he surely is one funny god to have around. Family dinner are quite funny too for you. Zeus tries to avoid them whenever he can and you can have the time of your life by frightening Zeus himself.

Beelzebub recognises how similar you two are from the first moment he met you. Both of you feared and isolated deities, whose name alone makes the earth tremble, associated with darkness and ruin, whose presence is dreadful and nightmarish. Frightnening and unpleasant, he knew he'd get along well with you. To each other though, you're both kinda warmer, despite keeping a certain level of detachement between you two. You know about Beelzebub's curse - and have seen many curses during your long life - and try to look for a solution to it, despite his resistance. Being an ancient deity gave you much more experience than his, yet helping someone who doesn't want to be helped is a difficult job. Despite everything, when you two are together, you have the certainty that nobody will ever dare disturbing you. On your own you are both terrying, together you are Heaven's worst nightmare.

Loki isn't scared of you, what he's scared of is Odin finally punishing him for one of his many pranks. You are actually the one who could save him from his miserable fate! Not even Odin would dare to punish him if it meant crossing your path. You silently checking on him is more than enough for Loki to do whatever he want without having to deal with the consequences - unless he angers you, at that rate he'd probably be annihilated, but he doesn't want to reach that point. He is mischievous, not stupid, and doesn't want to die either. At first, he has to admit it, Loki was a little put off by you. You were intimidating to say the least, but he already had his good share of frightnening deities to deal with. You can be sure he will never and ever pull a prank on you, even though he'd like to try once. It may be his last prank though.

Nikola is the child of light; you are the goddess of night. The bright scientist and the gloomy deity. Complete opposites, yet he is enchanted by you. Nikola, believing in the power of science instead of gods' doesn't really understand why you seem to be feared by others. He can see how you can appear a little intimidating but aside from that, he finds your presence quite pleasant! Nikola believes that thanks to you he may also progress with his experiments - he is quite interested in your powers too. He doesn't want you to feel like a guinea pig though, because he doesn't absolutely see you that way. You are someone he knows will be of help in his researchs and sees you as a beacon who could make humanity itself evolve. You are his partner and Nikola values a lot your opinions and beliefs. The fact that you are an incredibly powerful deity is a bonus he doesn't dislike though. Thanks to his light and your darkness, he knows you'll be able to achieve great things together.

Let's go! Chapter 3!!! It's time to talk about it ^^

DJ and Alan relationship, few or more chapters are going to be a little bit angsty for DJ xD. There will be a lot of DJ Pov, Pre-Noogai and Post-Noogai here. Might get a little confusing too since the whole narrative is pretty Non-Linear, which I did on purpose LMAO.

Noogai is indeed chill, the talk with Victim and Chosen. He is pretty self-righteous, isn't he? He only believes what he wants to believe, refusing to listen to others. There is a major misunderstanding on Noogai's part since he initially thought Victim and the others were being enslaved by Alex, hence why in the first chapter they were thrown to the Outernet. It's that fact that them being thrown into the Outernet is not really important to Noogai's mission but he thought it was best for them to live in the Outernet than under a human.

We all know he has been using humans as his vessels for many years now, he of course knows how their brain works at this point. And this notion which is the humans being is vessel is me saying that, yes, he can control a human, and walk around in their body :D

We all know Noogai is here "not just potentially" HE IS a morally grey character, it is basically, killing a bunch of people for the better good. So, we know he won't exactly care about Victim and Chosen's mental wellbeing, he already did the "better good" and he'd done his job.

Alan did attempt, and DJ was the one to save him from it. It was mostly the start of Alan's descent to madness, anger and grief that DJ couldn't help him with, and it was sad for DJ to call himself a "bad friend" for not being able to help Alan with his mental health.

And I'm so happy you understood the part where Alan introduced DJ the cursor, DJ initially thought Alan was doing "better" until Alan presented the cursor weapon to him and there he realized, Alan was not getting better, he was turning for the worst...All this time DJ thought he had done something good for Alan, instead this happens.

DJ is officially still alive in the timeline with the Hollow 4's and CG, he is there somewhere. Will be shown in the next or so chapters actually :DD.

You know what, the line "Are we still friends" will soon make sense in a few chapters, I will not spoil, but mind you, DJ is going to turn for the worse (don't worry not the turning into a terrorist type) but he's not going to be having a good time.

ATG in AA, there's already some planned. Initially when i create Alan or DJ AU's i always make sure they can never overshine the others by accident. There are already notes that i had written about how ATG's relationship with the AA, and i believe it's more of an on and off. There are Alan AU's in the AA that will hate ATG if you think about it. So, we will see that the time ATG gets introduced into the AA household.

Noogai does care for the Alans in the AU, as said by the fun facts (I will be dropping those now at every AA AU post so that you guys can get to know them better!)

They can come back to their own worlds/realms/universe anytime they wanted actually :)), they aren't required to stay in the household but for the people who loves AA, they stay xP

Noogai and his DJ have a really close bond in the AI AU, though we only had a few comics (?) and one fanfiction, all Alan AU that i had made officially will have their own fanfiction in AO3 and all of them are under works as of the moment.

It is mostly to get to know them better :))

Snow really is the only Alan that cannot talk to his own DJ, and that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. But who said KOM DJ won't appear in the AA household xD (spoilers!!).

Headcanons for omega kankuro, hidan, and omega asuma plzzzzz

(I don't write for Hidan or Asuma, but I can give you some omega!Kankuro headcanons for sure!)

GENERAL OMEGA!KANKURO HEADCANONS

Kankuro didn't really think about nor care about his secondary gender when he was young.

As far as he was concerned, his secondary gender was puppets and trying to avoid getting murdered by baby Gaara.

Once he's approaching chunin, he does kind of feel grateful that he's an omega because his shitty father was an alpha and Kankuro looks a lot like him. It's helpful to have a layer of separation with different secondary genders.

When he's an older teen/young adult is the first time he starts feeling uncomfortable with being an omega. He just feels wrong and it stresses him out a lot for a while until he figures out what's wrong.

Basically, Kankuro is super not okay with the idea of being pregnant, it really freaks him out, he feels like he wouldn't be 'him' if it happened, so having a functioning reproductive system was affecting his mental health.

Once he yeets the womb, he's back to being very chill about being an omega once more.

No pups for him, he lowkey hates children. (But he's the weird chill uncle for Gaara and Temari's pups though, family is important to him.)

However he will only babysit very young pups in an emergency.

When Kankuro gets married to you, he takes advantage of social convention and retires from active duty. He likes to call himself a house husband.

He is not really a house husband though because he spends all his time in his workshop, working on his puppets.

((n-sfw warning for this bullet point) one of his puppets is a sex puppet he based on you from before you got together because Kankuro is kind of a freak ngl) but I digress.

He also helps out Gaara when he can, and he might take on an apprentice if he can find a child who's good enough for him to mentor.

So yeah, he's not a traditional house husband, which is good because he lacks several of the key skills, like cooking. He can make some of the best sandwiches you've ever had in your life though. Sandwich king!

Omega!Kankuro's scent is very herb-like, like rosemary.

He almost never whines. He hates omega whines, thinks they're so annoying and insipid, so whenever he feels the urge, he gets irritated, which turns the would-be-whine into a growl lol.

He's not really a nesting guy. Until he's sick that is. Then he needs a nest so bad it hurts.

He always ends up building the nest while he's sick though, because he's the sort of person who denies being sick when he first starts to feel the symptoms.

His nests when he's sick is always in the coolest part of the house, even if that ends up being the bathroom or something. This is so he can pile blankets on himself without getting heat stroke.

Sometimes he has cooling packs, heat packs and blankets on all at the same time, it makes no sense, but he gets very grumpy and upset if he can't have them all.

He needs cooling packs on his neck, feet, and in between his legs, and then hot water bottles on his stomach and chest, then a pile of blankets on top keeping everything in place.

Just imagine that, but also Kankuro is laying in the bath tub and his grumpy little flushed face, free of face paint, is sticking out from all the blankets haha. So cute.

OKAY so there’s a lot of characters in dc but the ones I draw/talk about the most are these group of friends!! They feature in Young Justice 1998, Teen Titans 2003, and Young Justice 2019, as well as having their own comics and other appearances :)

each comic run has different vibes but my personal favorite is yj1998 bc I like its wacky and zany vibes. It was not my first comic though, and it’s a little older so it might be hard to understand or read if it’s your first time reading comics like this, and again it is old soooo some stuff does Not age well such as certain jokes or depictions and it is of course not all perfect but overall I love it and think it has a lot of heart

I think i have a lot of fun with it bc it feels so…animated? And it has funny slapstick humor. Honestly I probably like it bc it makes me laugh the same way ninjago makes me laugh…a group of 4+ friends that have cute dynamics with each other and just Being Silly Together. I really don’t know how to explain it but between all three runs, I can see yj1998 in my head the most as a wacky animated show with exaggerated bouncy animation idk so that’s part of the fun for me. I think the moment I realized this was going to be a long term emotional investment was When I read the issue where they randomly end up on a planet and have to play baseball bc I am a SUCKERRR for baseball shenanigans

But yeah the group starts out with Bart, Tim, and Kon in JLA: A world without Grownups, and they just have a good trio dynamic 🙏 the banter between all three is so good 🤩and I liked seeing their friendship develop throughout yj1998 too! Especially for Tim, with his hesitancy at the beginning.They weren’t without conflict ofc but that adds to why I like them bc eventually they became besties for life. They are also quickly joined by others but the main one that stays w the group through all three runs is Cassie Sandsmark , aka Wonder Girl ii.

But yeah I guess some things I like are the way they actually Hang out? like they will do camping trips or go to the mall and games together etc etc, but there will be parts that feel more serious while never losing that humorous tint to it. For some examples, I love how Tim tries to be a leader in the beginning, but then one arc shows just how much Cassie is more fitting for it, and how they bond over Leader things like how hard it is to tell Bart what to do and then will share a really nice hug 🥺, and I love Cassie and Cissie’s relationship a LOT because they sometimes misunderstand each other but clearly care for each other (they aren’t canon but in my heart they are.) I also like Tim and kon’s build towards understanding and friendship for a similar reason, and cissie and Anita also have a nice development with each other, but yeah all the dynamics are just fun to think about tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️ I am pointing at them eagerly and going “wow! Friendship!!”

And as for the guy I never shut up about…well that’s a whole thing I could ramble about but i became obsessed with him the moment he quoted Peter Pan while lamenting about how he was afraid his friends would leave him behind after several issues of him acting like Hot Shit and erm I’m predictable so it got to me 🙄 also he makes dumb jokes every second like he expects someone to laugh at them like he’s so dumb sometimes….anyways I do not want to ramble too much so I will get on with it

probably the most explicitly romantic and the most explicitly toxic. They DO love each other a lot. Jimmy looks up to Scott (he's so cool!) and would do anything just to live a happy life with him. I imagine that he's had a crush on him for the longest time from a distance, but didn't approach him until 3L because he didn't think Scott would look in his direction. Scott loves Jimmy deeply too but in the way someone might love a pet or a toy. "How's this poor thing going to survive on his own?" is probably what he uses to justify alot of what he puts Jimmy through. I imagine that Scott is someone who's lived a very monitored and controlled life (he gives me royalty vibes) and probably doesn't understand the extent of the abuse he's been put through or the way it's warped his perception of love. Love is a conditional commodity for him at this point in 3L and right now he's using it to buy some protection (never a good idea to go solo in a death game arena). So everytime he scolds or hits Jimmy it's always out of love, always for his own good, if he doesn't learn how to act now then someone will kill him for running his mouth eventually. Especially in the 3L Death Game. And Jimmy puts up with it and believes him because he hasn't learnt to respect himself yet. But as the games go on I do believe Scott begins to fall for Jimmy in a more genuine, kind way. Still not wholesome but he's very much not just extra numbers for safety anymore. He feels scorching regret for what he did after Jimmy dies but won't admit it to himself or anyone else. It's a selfish kind of regret, he hates himself more than he loves Jimmy, but it's still there. Post-3L Jimmy has some time away from Scott during LL before meeting Tango in DL, a partner who respects and even admires him, who gives him the space to grow and the trust to take risks that would better the both of them. Jimmy gains newfound confidence and a new perspective on his previous relationships, culminating in him actually standing up to Scott in LimL and refusing his offer to get back together. He's grown up. Scott, on the other hand, fares much more poorly. He is offered genuine love, unconditional love and it frightens him because he can't understand it (he doesn't think he's love-able). What does she want from him? He can't control Pearl the way he could with Jimmy and she Scares him. It doesn't matter, he can manage by himself (he always has) and he has an eye for finding kindred spirits. But it's not the same (he misses him). (he needs his Pet back) (he needs his Control back) He doesn't get it. final diagnosis: what should have been a beautiful love story twisted into something awful, divorced and should not re-marry even if Scott wants to.

ngl there is that.. little part of me that really wants jimmy to relapse and go crawling back cus old habits die hard, right? but on the other hand i. i want my son to be happy. sometimes.

I like writing characters with super messed up warped perceptions of love and hurt themselves and others in the process with it. its evil and sexy.

if we're gonna get into the whole song lyrics thing i really really love using mahiru's milgram songs for fh (even tho i associate scott more with muu). they just make sense to me. lyrics from haruko because i adore their covers.

(This is a stupid idea, but please bare with me 🙏) How do you think it would've effected the plot if Izuku Midoriya had been born with a combination of a Healing and Shield Generation Quirk? You think Katsuki Bakugo would've felt threatened by him and his treatment would be more worse (unless others stepped in to help him realize his behavior is not healthy at all)? Let's say in this scenario, Inko Midoriya has a healing Quirk (I can imagine her being a doctor in turn as a result) whilst his father has a Shield Generation (akin to force fields) like Quirk instead of their canonical Quirks. I know this is already changing a lot of things, but their Quirks are rather lackluster in the canon series. One major issue is that of Dr. Tsubasa (i.e., Kyudai Garaki) would realistically have stolen his and his parents' Quirks, but let's just say that that the Midoriya family instead of living in Japan, lived in the USA and thereby were away from him, OFA or their associates (unless we're counting OFA also having associates in the USA 🙃) As a result, Izuku would as a result, probably not be childhood friends with Katsuki as a result (but perhaps he has heard of him through his mother being friends with Mitsuki). So Katsuki would probably be a bit worse (in the beginning at least?), unless a different Quirkless individual took Izuku's place??? (I know at that point, they're just becoming OCS and really OOC compared to their canonical counterparts, but these ideas are just for fun and for a fanfiction rewrite, it won't affect the main series at all) (Also tempted to change Hisashi Midoriya's name in my BNHA rewrite since I get confused a lot between his name and Hizashi Yamada/Present Mic, ngl) Sorry for this long rambling and if the ideas sound stupid, lol.

It would change the plot a lot.

Izuku having a quirk as powerful as that would probably mean All Might wouldn't offer him OfA. And, yes, that quirk is powerful, and I've already started analysing it and how it could coexist despite being wildly differing.

Instead of Izuku focusing on strength and combat, I would imagine him to focus on protecting and healing people, maybe even becoming a support hero rather than an action one.

Also, it's heavily implied that the reason Izuku started analysing quirks in canon was because he himself didn't have one. He was quirkless, so thinking about the quirks he could have had was inevitable. By being born with a quirk, unless he has a reason to, he wouldn't really analyse quirks as he does in canon.

Changing Inko and Hisashi's quirks is fine, as they don't impact canon anyway. Inko could have had the fire breathing quirk, and nothing would change - so it's perfectly fine to change it. Hell, in my rewrite, I'm changing quirks too, with the analysis stuff.

With Izuku in the US, I honestly believe Bakugou would somehow be tamer. Without Izuku, someone he percieved as the weakest of the lot, reaching out to help him, he wouldn't feel incredibly challenged in his ego. He would still be a bully, but I doubt he'd go after someone as intensely as he did to Izuku.

(He'd still be a bully because he was shown to bully others.)

I doubt Izuku would have heard about Bakugou, however. Mitsuki and Inko being close friends is fanon - they barely if ever interact in canon, the fandom decided they were close because Izuku and Bakugou used to be friends when they were four.

Finally, let me just shed some light:

All fanfiction is OOC. Because you are not the author. You are putting these characters in non-canon scenarios, and those reactions will never be confirmed as canon, (unless the author makes the exact same story arc and it's basically a copy).

Plus, characters are the way they are due to their backstories. If you change their backstories, of course they're going to be different. Some of my favourite fics, and really popular fics, change the characters' personality.

For example, in 'Why Are We Here Again?' everyone is OOC, because their backstories are different. But nobody complains about it, because it's still a good story with strong messages, themes, and writing.

I hate complaints about characters being OOC, because authors aren't trying to be canon compliant 90% of the time.

You're fine. Don't worry about being OOC, because it's always going to be OOC, even if you can picture those canon character doing it exactly. Because it's not canon.

Anyway, this sounds genuinely interesting - keep at it!

So, Seven was released. There was a lot of drama surrounding this before its release and a lot of drama after its release.

I fully support Jikook, but I think that my belief in Jikook is fully seperable and irrelavent when it comes to pointing out injustices in their music careers. Do I support the relationship that I belive JK and JM have? Yes. Do I acknowledge and love how JK and JM support each other? Yes. Do those things mean that I’m obligated to support Seven and be happy for JK as a musician? No. 

There are a lot of things you could point out in comparing between how FACE was handled and how Seven is being handled. A lot of those things ought to make you pissed off on JM’s behalf. The short promo? The disadvantageous chart manipulations? Gosh, even the lack of a cake (if you’ve followed BTS for all these years, you must know how a simple cake is a staple to celebrate significant events like...oh idk, a BB#1???!). Seven on the other hand, to put it lightly, did not recieve this kind of treatment. Am I advocating for JK’s music to face the injustices that JM’s FACE release did? No. I am simply putting it out there that it needs to be acknowledged that Seven was clearly favoured over JM’s debut album when looking at the treatment each of these recieved. As a fan, I honestly felt that JM’s success was more organic - his records came from songs he wrote, choreography he worked hours to perfect, and the dedication of his fans and their love for the music he put out.

Looking at Seven as a song, look I love JK as a musician. Anyone with ears can tell that dude can really sing well (again, putting it lightly). He’s an all rounder and from a business perspective, it’s easy to understand why so much favourtism is awarded to him (as an ARMY, that stuff does not sit right with me). This song, the GMA performances, the lyrics even - all of it felt, for lack of a better word, Western. It felt like any other American song about sex. The cherry on the cake was that he didn’t even write it, BTS didn’t write it. We don’t need to look at the credits to know who didn’t write it. BTS songs have beautiful lyricism and intellgient melodies and all of that is glaringly absent in Seven. All this promo, this hype, these analyses, for a mainstream-produced song that JK did not even write. Anyways, this side note is just to say that Seven did not hit the spot for me as a song, it did not live up to the hype surrounding it, and more than that, as a song associated with JK since I know he can do so much better. 

Another side note is that I felt the use of the subject of sex in this song was kind of cheap. I know BTS are grown ups and see no issue with them devoting songs to sex (that is an important and normal part of life, ngl). With Seven, I felt like sex was sorta used the same way that plot twists are cheaply used in TV shows, you know? As a shock factor or something to draw people in. The song isn’t deep (at least to me it isn’t), but is everyone screaming about it because JK sings about fucking someone right? Sure, the song is hot. JK is hot. But that’s irrelevent to whether the song is good, no?

Anyhow, those are my two cents on all this FACE/Seven stuff especially for people who might feel a similar conflict, but might be pressured by other posts they may see that mandate that you should be happy for Seven and JK as a musician if you are a Jikooker.

“Eat up champ.”

Max blinks as his laptop shuts gently in front of him, replaced by a hotdog on top of two napkins. He follows the hand-and-arm up to see Daniel, leaning his hip against the desk and grinning down at him.

“Wha—“ he shakes his head, squeezing his eyes shut hard against the dark spots in the corners from too much screen time, “what? What are you doing here?”

The library was still, and abandoned apart from him, and one other poor paralegal in the corner. The lights were dimmed low and when he craned his head, he could see that said paralegal was in fact passed out on top of a pile of books, snoring gently. 

“I’m diligently preparing for my cases, obviously!” Daniel acts mock offended as he slips into the chair opposite Max, taking a big bite out of his own matching hotdog. He points at the one in front of Max and makes an impatient movement with his hand, talking around the sides of his mouthful, “eat it. Really. As soon as it cools down it loses all its charm.”

Truthfully, the hotdog feels like the best thing Max has eaten all day— mainly because he’s been surviving on the work vending machine granola bars and sugarfree redbulls. He devours it so quickly he can feel chunks of it travelling down his throat into his chest; he gulps down water out of a crinkling plastic bottle to get through it. 

“So how’s it going? Your case, I mean,” Daniel asks, nodding towards the stack of papers and his laptop.

Max groans in answer and covers his face with his hands. He presses the tips of his fingers into the hollow between his eye and nose, sliding his hands down his cheeks. It’s not even his case, not really. He was only brought on to help because he’d been sitting in his associates cubicle at just the wrong time. 

“Horrible,” he says matter-of-factly, “I’m trying to find a loophole which is, of course, already difficult, but this whole contract sounds like it was written by someone who had read law-for-dummies. It’s terrible, Daniel!”

Daniel honk laughs, tipping back in his chair and shaking his head— he somehow looks good even while his curls are in disarray and there are deep bags creasing the soft skin under his eyes. No decent lawyer looks well rested.

“Law for dummies,” he repeats, kicks Max under the table, “god. Alright. What are we looking for then?”

“We?” Max parrots, dumbly.

“Yes we,” Daniel says, “tell me what to look for so we can get you out of here before you get permanently stuck to that chair.”

vol vi thoughts bc fusebox keeps bringing me back

although we're in casa so ya know.... story is bound to get bad soon after casa

first of all, Hari. im so disappointed with his sprite because I'd so go for him for looks alone otherwise (his hair is nice and hes indian and hes got the rohan sort of physique albeit more muscle-y). but somethings up with his face and his eyes are a little red and his torso is doing the thing Vicki does, so he just feels like a leftover from S7 (and what a shame bc Tyler is drawn so well but barely gets time to impress us in the villa!)

OK anyway personality wise though hes giving nothing. Bombshells gotta cause more chaos and I think he'd be a fine and dandy OG in the real show but he's just kinda here. I mean idk maybe I tapped through his dialogue too quickly but in my head rn he's similar level to Elliot. Elliot I can at least make gamer jokes about and the girls had more to say about him than just: he's hot, and MC should go for him. that being said what I'm about to reveal i did in a few bullet points will not make sense.

The note was obviously gonna be from Jin (your LI), so them dragging it out was a little annoying. And I have personal opinion on what types of things should be gem choices and part of that is having a good enough excuse not to go through with it and I think not reading the note for no reason is not good enough. Anyway I did choose to read the note and it's sweet and references Jin's whole "funny guy but now I'm serious about you" shtick and I just wish they write that a little differently but it's still cute.

Then we get Bea's messages and it's odd bc I can't think of a reason or another season on the show that they dragged out the bombshells arrival like this. Like first of all, they might as well have given a message to Theo as well instead of just Oakley and Hari. But even more than that, why put the messages at all? just to have a cliffhanger at the end of the episode? I think just straight up during the sports day challenge, have someone read a text that a new couple is joining, and then bam it's Jin and Bea. maybe one text from her but the multiple was bugging me.

I also don't know why I got it in my head that Bea was gonna flirt with Theo/Claudia depending on who you flirted with, plus also your current LI but like that would've been a nice addition since I think Theo and Claudia should be done for but they don't make it clear???

Oakley messing with Emel about the drink was funny ngl, but I do miss the routes not merging because it just doesn't make sense to me having Oakley do that. Jack or Jin, maybe, but Oakley is the silent, serious type. Like in my head, he's more like Noah.

There is very briefly a few friendship moments between MC and Theo this volume and in my head they are besties and I wish that was canon/more explicit because I'm not going after him anyway. That way you get the friends who get closer and become lovers storyline from either Theo or Claudia and the other you still get to be friends with.

I'm surprised Claudia and Theo aren't just fully broken up because Claudia is asking for advice and I'm like, did yall not already get that sorted?? it's been so long. One of them should just go for the bombshells.

A chat with Claudia! finally! (albeit a gem scene) I thought we'd get to know more about her but it's mostly just a game of word association which is odd. I will say admitting that MC associates love with Jin made me laugh bc I'm cruel

The girls then say that MC needs to graft on Hari because they're both single and I get the support, but also MC is still getting over Jin lol.

Remember how I said the way I'm gonna play this doesn't make sense? Okay so I decided I needed to create my own mess, just to see if fusebox is gonna let my MC have consequences for her actions. So this is for science, in a way... Okay. So I may have let my MC flirt with Hari. And then maybe she got a sexy massage from him. And then maybe they kissed. What can I say? She's out of her mind without Jin. 🤣

okay no but seriously, in my head she does start to revert to her old ways, her old type, but she knows Hari isn't right for her. She misses Jin but she's not used to having a connection so fast with someone. And when he's gone she misses him but over the course of the day after putting on her brave face, she's convinced herself she's overthinking it. the letter was sweet but it scared her a little. she knows he was gonna ask her to be exclusive and she freaked a little. she just needs a little distraction....

I enjoy sports day but in my head it's usually a late in the show game. Like around in S2 when they have the bird thing happening or the S4 musical (OK maybe not that late, like probably pre baby challenge, but it's generally a challenge with very little drama is my point). still it was fun to have here.

and then of course return of the king, Jin comes back. and with the way I've been doing shit, yes, MC did kiss Hari when Jin entered and ohhhh he was upset.

Bea is cute but playful and still competitive and okay she goes for your couple, but also I get like Chelsea vibes from her (no canon reason why, I just think it's the hair) so love her.

Double date is so fun when your other partner is nearby, like it's almost enough to forget they did the same thing in season 5 because it's so much better this time around.

for fun and for angst I just imagine in the show, mid date they cut to a beach hut scene where MC is like "yeah I had a fun time with Hari but he when he was talking about all the things he wants in a life partner, I kept thinking about how I want that with Jin." 🥺

So I'm not a big fan of how they introduced the bombshells and LI return but it's not bad. I just think we could've gotten more time with Jin, Hari, and Bea. It's unclear but I think it's implied Jin, Hari, Bea, and MC are all single and I hope that's true because that way there will be little consequence (as in no sudden dumping) if you or another one of those characters brings someone from casa. because you're not in a couple anyway. (I mean I always hope there's no Dumping immediately after casa bc the arguments are more fun but this is how they've been doing it recently and i think part of that is bc of how they force the routes to merge)

it's also nice we don't get immediately stolen from our partner a la Tom/Cora entrance (or Elliot/Chloe) but it's sort of implied with how the sports day couples went? like I wish there was just a little more time before Casa so it's clear they're all single

or fuck it, give us a recoupling and post casa don't dump the other LI right away if you switch. Like you should be able to make up with your LI or not and it's boys choice and if they wanna keep the slow burn Theo picks last I guess and gets Bea just to also fix the Theo and Claudia together but not storyline. Maybe between your original LI and Hari, one of them picks Claudia (or give us another mlm couple if you're on a Claudia route and let him couple with Theo lmao)

I'd argue that changing a character's ethnicity/sexuality is usually a bad move, mostly due to the inevitable shitstorm that it will occurr, but also, specifically in regards to ethnicity swaps, they tend to result in massive design changes which for some characters is a bad thing in general because it can mess up what made their original designs work in the first place

Imagine making Griffith black: his entire design would get fucked because it all revolves around the color white to contrast Guts' mainly black color scheme

Other times it would just clash with the whole story of the character: there's absolutely no way you could make a character like Farnese black or asian or anything else because her whole point is that she comes from a noble family that is very blatantly inspired by old italian aristocracy

In the case of a character like Isaac turning him black doesn't necessarily ruin him in any way (hell black red heads tend to be quite popular in japanese media from what I know)...it's everything else about his design that doesn't feel like Isaac

Isaac is associated with the color red. He has instantly recognizable flaming red hair and his outfit is reddish black. This is important to his character because he's the Red Oni to Hector's Blue Oni: he's wild, passionate and driven by emotions such as rage and bitterness, while Hector is more levelheaded which also what allows him to resist the Curse in the end.

Making him black doesn't affect this. I've seen fanart of black Isaac with his red hair, sometimes in dreadlocks, and ngl he looks very good (the one sacrifice is that his tattoos don't stand out as much, but I'm sure a good artist could work around that). His backstory is also enough to justify why he'd resent mankind and devote himself to Dracula, and being black shouldn't affect this either.

("oh but he'd look unrealistic" N!Isaac already has red eyes for unexplained reasons and N!Hector has grey hair, there's more IRL basis for a black person with red hair)

But for some reason, someone in the crew thought that an insanely devoted black man who thinks of himself as a tool was too problematic (and I can see how it would be seen as such), and instead of leaving him alone, they stripped him away of everything that made him Isaac to make him a "proper" black representation. The balanced relationship between him and Hector is completely gone in the show: both of them are serious and reserved, it's just that Isaac is more cynical and ruthless while Hector is idealistic and naive. Plus, as I have pointed out, the two have the chemistry of two coworkers forced to share the same building, which is boring lol. N!Isaac is still associated with red, mainly in his magic, but it lost all meaning - in fact, his clothes also go from pure black, which looks awful contrasted to Hector's CoD outfit, to blue. Blue! Hector's color! Bruh!

Regardless of how you feel about race swapping, Isaac was not the right character to race swap. Hector was! You know, the guy who is all about realizing that his Master is not someone worth following and taking his own life in his own hands, proudly declaring to be a human being and not a pawn? Just saying! But no, they preferred to gut Isaac like a fish, getting rid of everything that made him recognizable, to cash in those "yay they fixed the bad character!" points.

Okay so, Saitama.  🧵 And Why I Think He's Still a Lost Character Despite Having This Profound Effect On Other Heroes. 😮‍💨 Long title, I know. Sorry

I’ve had some nibbling thoughts about him ever since I posted this analysis on how Saitama will be the one to break Tatsumaki’s ‘curse’ in her heart You can read it here and enjoy my little wall of text regarding possibilities. I enjoyed it a lot and super glad it came into fruition! BUT I still have doubts when it comes to his character even after the whole recent Manga Chapters. Up until Chapter 82, I still couldn’t make or break what Saitama’s ordeal was? It seems like he’s impetuous (King’s words) and it honestly seems like he’s coasting through life without any rhyme nor reason (throwback to Chapter 77). The primary reason he is depressed (according to King and I guess this resonates true to him) is because he thinks that the only goal to be had is to be strong. 

You can also see in the whole ordeal at the beginning of Monster Association that he punches problems in the face to solve them. Nothing more nothing less. He isn’t even fucking concerned that the monsters are causing so much havoc to which Fubuki called him out on.

I kinda got annoyed a bit because Saitama brushed off a lot of Fubuki’s concerns regarding the MA rampage. He only acted when he suddenly thought that Garou hasn’t hunted him at ALL. (LOL this was funny though ngl Never change Saitama)

Is this really a hero? Or so I thought. I read the webcomic and saw the conversation between Garou and Saitama which wasn't in the manga? And I believe here lies the crux of Saitama’s problem. When asked this question, he froze. Why is he a hero?

And when called out that you cannot call Saitama a hero, of course he froze again. Naturally he plays it off. Godamnit, he’s a hero FOR FUN. But to be honest, I feel like this affected him to the point that in Chapter 105 (Every Saitatsu’s favorite chapter) Saitama asked Tatsumaki why is she a hero. He saw himself in her: Bad at making friends, just wanted to connect with others, and doing this hero stuff not for income. But why is she a hero?

Tragically the conversation was cut short (ONE will probably revisit this maybe? Idk)

But to be honest, after this I don't think we ever touched upon this again no?

Almost done w ep 2 of Borrasca, interest is definitely peaked. It's slow moving but the way they capture your attention through audio effects and prioritizing certain tone is pretty nice. I'm assuming its a skinwalker/wendigo type of horror, from the plot points they've laid down thus far. It's really weird hearing Cole Sprouses voice in this, my brain hardcore associates him as Cody and I feel like I'm more immersed cuz I'm kinda like why isnt he in a hotel w his twin but that could just be me. The build up is very suspenseful though, I'm enjoying the pace. I'm not getting too distracted by his voice, mostly cause he hasn't yapped too much and it's mostly the flashbacks, or childhood retelling, whatever you wanna call it. But it's like a little jumpscare each time he comes back to talking with the parole officer LMAO - Watched some more - On Ep 8, overall the story has kept my interest peaked, i like the suspense build up, after they foreshadowed sam doing something terrible to kyle, all of their searching and run-ins are making me nervous, the way this is executed is really well done. the uneasiness of being able to trust sams father is a bit dragged out, im genuinely drawn in both directions, cant tell which way the story is about to go. the bed was fucking freaky, all of the handwriting, im assuming sexual assault themes are coming up which creates another feeling of unease. the connections between the prescotts and his boss is very interesting, the dementia aspect is a good touch, mixing crazy supernatural bs with mental illness is one of my favorite things to see in horror media, adds a complete wild card to the situation. i really like how this series has been done, i havent really listened to anything like this before, like idk ive heard creepypastas on youtube but this is like a production, the attention to detail is what really draws me in, all of the different storylines, i do really appreciate the eldritch themes but i do find it a little bit predictable in that sense, i love when people tell stories like a puzzle and this is definitely a good representation of it, having to piece all of it together is the best part, but i genuinely don't know where the story is going because of all the different directions it has foreshadowed, its definitely got me wanting to listen to more stories in this style. im normally not a big fan of sound effects, its a big reason why i prefer eastern horror vs western horror, but the way they add everything in is smooth and genuinely helps build the unease and fear of whats to come. that's my thoughts thus far, im ngl ive had it in the background all day listening in on it and my attention span is normally that of a toddler, so i have to give it some props in the attention grabbing aspect

22. I didn't pick up Osvald until very late. I left that man lying in the snow for months until I finished every other traveler's final chapter and then sped run his story. I don't know why, I think his was actually very good and would have been better to do slowly, but I started with him on the demo and didn't want to sit through his long-ass intro chapters again. (I also learned that if you skip the first chapter(s), the character's stained glass doesn't color fully until you do!)

23. I got so mad. At Temenos's story especially. I feel like the stories in this game focused a lot more on the NPCs associated with the characters and the travelers themselves didn't have very much character growth or development in their story. The journey for the dawn was super cool and helped but there could have been even more character interaction with the plot there, especially since the game makers can guarantee you have everyone by that point.

24. Yes, it was my favorite game. This one improved on it in almost every way, except I think for the individual character arcs as mentioned above. They responded to and improved upon criticisms well and had lots of good quality of life changes and upgrades to the game system (latent powers and NPC's Next Chapter) which I really really enjoyed. The first one is still very good for its own reasons, but I feel confident in saying this was a better game.
