Kaelin and the Three Bear Boys
After some thinking after i got the to the prompt word fairy tale (and leaves) Thought it would be fun to do a loose Goldilocks parody with @keydekyie's characters Kaelin and Ruyak along with his two brothers Kadu and Renge. For his brothers had to work off from their descriptions in the books. So hopefully they look alright.
A really good series! I definitely recommend if you like G/t and monster boys! Really immersive worldbuilding, and character building.

He’s also shocked to death when he sees giant spiders in the goblin camp and absolutely horrified when he finds the nest beneath Moonhaven. Never in his many lives has he seen spiders that big. He thought those stories were fake. He’s like there’s no way that should even be possible, what IS that

“No chance, no way,
I won’t say it, no, no!
(Give up! Give in!
Check the grin, you’re in love!)
This scene won’t play!
I won’t say I’m in love!
(You’re doing flips, read our lips,
You’re in love!)
You’re way off base! I won’t say it!
Get off my case, I won’t say it!
(Girl don’t be proud, it’s okay, you’re in love)
At least out loud, I won’t say I’m in love,”

Are polar kanai a thing?
Sure! Not in canon, I don't think, because Kanai in my world have a very specific backstory, but I do like to imagine there are other species of bear-sphinx out there. You know, in the multiverse.
I suppose this is a good time to state again that I welcome anyone and everyone to make Kanai OCs or reimagine them entirely if you have the inclination. I make no claims of ownership of bear-sphinxes!

Live Review: AoniaFest V at The Corporation, Sheffield (24/06/23)
The fifth edition of AoniaFest took place on Saturday 24th June 2023 at The Corporation in Sheffield. Boasting (arguably) the strongest line-up to date, and as always, headlined by the operatic progressive metal band Aonia.

Boasting (arguably) the strongest line-up to date, and as always, headlined by the operatic progressive metal band Aonia. When you live in London, you really don’t have to travel far to see amazing bands. We live in the capital, surrounded by venues big and small, and are almost always a stop on…

BUG OF THE DAY
BotD 6 - 03/27/24
Am I late this time? No way!!! This is the Gaudy Sphinx Moth!
Tumblr media
These fluttery fellas are anything but gaudy, bearing beautiful emerald coloring. As with most Hawkmoths, these moths have a splash of red lining their underwings. That, along with their sharp, angular wings make these moths an absolutely stunning species! These moths can usually be found in North, Central, and South America, but commonly fly long distances, and can occasionally be found in strange places. The larvae of this species have distinct eyespots, meant to resemble that of snake eyes. Their disproportionately large, shiny "eyes" make them look almost like a Pokémon in their larval state. Truly an amazing creature!

National Zoo Lovers Day
National Zoo Lovers Day, celebrated on April 8 in the U.S. brings all the zoo animal enthusiasts together to celebrate this significant day! Do you know how many animals were saved by zoos from going extinct? Yes, zoos are more than just conservation sites for endangered species, they also provide educational, research, and entertainment purposes. We can trace the history of zoos back to 4000 B.C. If you love animals, then this holiday is just for you. Visit a zoo nearby to find out about your favorite animals; you can also ask to volunteer at a zoo!
History of National Zoo Lovers Day
In the 7th century B.C, the Greeks had the habit of caging animals. ‘Alexander the Great’ sent many animals caught on his military expeditions to Greece. The earlier Egyptian and Asian zoos were kept mainly for public visitors and secondarily used for research purposes. During the 4th century B.C., the Greeks were more concerned with the research and experiment of captivated animals. The Romans had two different animal collections for arena and research objectives.
After the Roman Empire, zoos faced a downfall, but some private collections existed by Emperor Charlemagne in the eighth century and Henry I in the 12th century. King Philip VI had a menagerie in the Louvre, Paris, in 1333. Many members of the house of Bourbon had animal collections at Versailles. Later in 1519, a zoo was discovered in Mexico, which habituated birds, mammals, and reptiles. It was maintained by 300 zookeepers. In 1752, the Imperial Menagerie was founded at the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna as the first modern-day zoo.
In 1828, two years after the Zoological Society of London was founded, the collection was created in Regent’s Park. By the mid 19th century, zoos were established worldwide. Among the existing zoos of today, more than 40 zoos are 100 years old. Most of these old zoos are in Europe. Since the end of World War II, there has been a fast and worldwide growth of zoos, many of which serve the purpose of public entertainment and economic gain rather than animal research. The exact number of public animal collections across the world today is unknown, although it is believed to be in the thousands.
