Amira Melies
A 17 year old drow/tiefling (Mostly drow). She is my backup character for my current pc: Veriaso Melies.
If you couldn't tell they are sisters. She is a 5th level totem warrior barbarian. Also, the bear cloak is meant to look screw up. She did the "taxidermy" herself, its meant to be so scary that it just intimidates her opponents.
If Veriaso ever dies (And its Curse of Strahd so 50% she dies. Though Veriaso is the healer, so maybe not) then Amira will become the next pc.
If you have any questions please ask! (No spoilers for Curse of Strahd please)

I don’t have a tall blond dumbass (affectionate) to romance in Veilguard so you best bet that my Rook is gonna be a biggest dumbest blond Thedas has ever seen.
Grimnir, Rook to his friends (pretty much everyone), is always down for three things: a good drink, a good story, and a good fight. A Warden for the last 9 years, his cheerfulness is only sometimes a cover for some of the shit he’s seen. With the kind of face that people sorta just like to talk to, he’s usually the one that scouts in taverns and markets looking for information. Which is probably how he met Varric. Varric would be catnip to this man. Rook would take one look at him across a bar and decide on the spot this dude was his new best friend.
Harding he’d adore, probably more like a sibling but lbr all bets are off with this game, and Taash would delight him to no end given some of the wild shit she must have gotten up to.
I can see him finding Neve a bit too serious to start with until he gets into the swing of her personality, whilst he’s probably run into a few Crows and takes Lucanis’ single-minded work ethic in his stride, probably giving him some good natured needling from out of dagger range. Once he’s comfortable with them, and them with him, he wouldn’t think twice about tossing them over his shoulder to get them to stop working so hard.
Emmrich would be a bit intimidating at first but Rook’s endlessly curious about all sorts so he’s a good audience for well-intentioned infodumping and Manfred would just be the coolest thing in the world once he gets over the surprise of a walking skeleton that isn’t trying to kill him. Bellara would be the same—he’ll happily sit and clean his weapons or take notes for her as she pokes and prods at some new device or artefact they’d found.
Davrin would be a Buddy on sight. Sure, no small part of it is to do with the sense of Duty and Purpose amongst Wardens but they both have a love of adventure and revel in the thrill of a hunt. Rook’s got an unserious edge to him and I could see his tendency to deal with things through humour grating sometimes but they’re mostly coming at the same thing from two different angles.
I have no idea who he’d romance, like, I could see the potential in everyone. I’m leaning towards Lucanis at the moment because they fit the black cat/golden retriever vibe and I am absolutely consumed with the idea of Lucanis, finally exhausted enough to let his guard down, falling asleep on this absolute mountain of a man who now won’t move for several hours because holy shit.
Ultimately, though, someone like Varric is gonna know that you gotta set a trickster to catch a trickster and, as the resident Trickster Guy, I am gonna have so much fucking fun with Rook.
#Haven’t fully settled on his details yet#but I like the idea of this comically Large Elf who just HAS to be a warrior#but he’s actually a Mage#and at some point the difference between a bladed staff and a battleaxe is negligible#dragon age#dragon age: the veilguard#da:tv#oc: Grimnir Thorne

@barbarian-lesbian
To be the royal advisor to the princess as your barbarian army takes the castle...
To be forced to watch as my liegelady is paraded before your conquering army, wearing naught but her crown and jewelry, before coming to kneel before the woman who took her throne. Your legs spread wide, throbbing womanhood glistening with battle-sweat- my princess sways for a moment, overtaken by the scent...
She eventually returns to herself, and hesitantly plants a kiss at the base of your shaft. It is followed by another, then a tentative lick.
Her minstrations are... clumsy at best, and your amusement slowly fades into boredom.
My heart clenches in fear for my lady, and I find within me the resolve to step forward, hands deftly unbuttoning my coat.
Your warriors move to stop me, but hesitate as I toss aside my jacket and begin on my shirt. I stride past them and approach the dais, shucking what remained of my outerwear.
You reach for the battleaxe that rests against what is now your throne, but make no further moves as I kick off my shoes and ascend the steps. I am unashamed in my nudity, for I refuse any dignity that my liegelady is denied. I fall into a low bow, her crest dangling before my chest as I approach the throne.
"Apologies for the intrusion," I simper, "but I am sworn to aid the princess in all her endeavors."
I come to a stop and kneel beside my liegelady; to her right and a half-pace behind, exactly where I belong.
Your scent is intoxicating, even from here, but I have a duty to uphold. I take a moment to gaze into my princess' eyes, musk-drunk and lustful as they are. "I am with you, my lady," I whisper to her. I place a loving hand on the back of her head, and gently push her down onto your cock.
#sorry for making this so convoluted#but I desperately want to be the useless lesbian royal advisor to a princess who I am utterly down bad for#unyielding loyalty and devotion are my kinks#also powerful trans women taking what they deserve#which is everything#transfem supremacy#trans nsft#girlc0ck

✨New item!✨ Battleaxe of the Relentless Warrior Weapon (battleaxe), rare (requires attunement)
This ancient battleaxe is chipped and worn from countless battles, yet it feels sturdy enough for many more. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
If you are reduced to 0 hit points while you are wielding this axe, you can use your reaction to immediately make one melee attack with the axe against a creature within reach before you fall unconscious. If the attack hits, you regain hit points equal to the damage dealt. Once this property occurs, it cannot occur again until the next dawn.
Has it been days, weeks, or months since the battle began? The sky chokes with smoke, and the only source of light is from fires raging out of control. Time is a distant memory. You hack into a foe, striking it down. Before it dies, another is pushed into the open patch of mud. Not a mud of water and earth, but a crimson slurry that clings to your aching legs. This one’s wild eyes are just as tireless as yours, and it moves with adrenaline-drenched vigor. You exchange blows for an eternity before the crowd undulates, and a new foe emerges. Beyond exhaustion, beyond pain, beyond death itself, you fight. - 🖌🎨 Like our work? I feel like in remembering those who came before us we must remember the reason the trans community is still alive is with continued for the people of the past. I thought about the fact that armor is gender neutral garment (even though knighthood is associated with masculinity), it allows for gnc / trans / queer expression (historically, Joan of Arc being a rather obvious example) - A trans person feeling safer in their suit of armor rather than their clearly gendered garments - being protected literally from physical danger and metaphorically from the expectations of the world and expected to play the role of "protector" rather than "man" or "woman" and at the same time being strong enough to fight back against those who wish to hurt them. Not everyone is able to become a warrior, its up to those who can fight to help those who cant, community is the only thing we have, armies, people united are strong, separated they're weak. Support your trans community members. Introducing: Marja Aeducan
In Summary:
Grey Warden, Commander of the Grey, Arlessa of Amaranthine, Paragon
Noble Dwarf
Warrior (Champion/Berserker)
Main Weapon: Two-Handed Battleaxe
Commanding; Decisive; Perfectionist; Honorable
Relevant Fic: Of Diamonds And Dust, Shapes in the Silence
more rambling:
Origin:
Endrin's golden child with open ambitions for the throne
She earned the respect and admiration of many through her skill with both military and diplomatic strategies. Despite this, she had few real friends; Gorim and Bhelen were the only people she truly trusted
Her main hindrance was that she does deeply believe in Orzammar's values and system of honor. She considers breaking that honor to be an action borne of weakness and a betrayal of the Ancestors, and holds herself to high standards even when others don't
As such, she refused to kill Trian and was devastated that everyone was so quick to believe she did. She vowed to return, reveal the truth, and take her rightful place as queen
She became a Warden alongside Darvis Brosca, who was recruited by Duncan at the same time
Major Choices:
Negotiated peace with Dalish and werewolves
Allowed Isolde to sacrifice herself for the good of Redcliffe
Saved the mages at the Circle
Defiled the Ashes of Andraste (long story)
Destroyed the Anvil and, after much strife, crowned Bhelen king of Orzammar (again, long story)
Allowed Alistair to duel and kill Loghain at the Landsmeet. Placed Anora on the throne alone
Would have sacrificed herself to the archdemon, had Darvis not performed the Dark Ritual with Morrigan
Party Dynamics:
Best friends with Alistair. They clicked immediately; he was relieved and reassured to have someone so decisive take the lead after Ostagar, and she was endeared (and occasionally baffled) by his sincere support and friendship
Grew fond of Sten over time. They got off on the wrong foot, but eventually learned to communicate better and realized they had a lot in common
Thinks Shale is the coolest and peppered it constantly with questions it couldn't remember the answers to. Shale was annoyed occasionally, but also flattered
Her friendship with Oghren can be complicated, but he understands her conflicting feelings toward Orzammar like few can. They've both been betrayed by their Caste, they both feel indebted to their society despite that, and they both resist talking about those feelings and end up drinking together about them instead
If I talk about Darvis we'll be here all day but suffice to say they hated each other at first, then with time and growth on both their parts formed a very strong bond. They're narrative foils; they're reluctant friends; they're ride-or-die comrades; they're in-laws. They're everything to me
Romance:
Has a genuinely sweet romance with Leliana, whose own complicated past with politics and court life gives her insight to Marja's conflict; Marja, in turn, finds Leliana's ability to find beauty in the world inspiring
Unfortunately, some of the beliefs they hold can't be reconciled, and eventually put strain on their relationship. When Marja's desecration of the ashes at Haven is revealed, they break up for good
Despite resolutions to forgo romance afterwards, she finds herself charmed by Sigrun's cheerful pragmatism and determination, and the two begin an informal relationship
Epilogue:
She survives her encounter with the archdemon, but is left with aftereffects; these mainly manifest as chronic pain and a heightened sensitivity to the Blight. Due to her chronic pain and the resulting exhaustion on her body, she takes to using a cane to get around
Becomes Arlessa of Amaranthine and commands the Fereldan Wardens from a strategic role, while Solenne Kader is sent from Orlais to act as commander in the field
Her Calling begins early, and she begins making arrangements for her last mission. Alistair and Sigrun manage to convince her to quest for a cure instead. She and Sigrun leave together on this quest, and haven't been seen since
Misc:
She acquires an interest in herbalism while on the surface, and keeps a book of dried flowers and plants she's collected
Despite being raised in luxury, she'll choose practicality over fashion every time, and doesn't really miss the jewels and trinkets she acquired as a Noble. What she does miss are the luxurious hot baths powered by the lava pools of Orzammar
While she always kind of knew she was a lesbian, she never acted on it due to the social pressures in Orzammar over having children. Her time on the surface during the Blight was the first time she was really able to explore her sexuality and general gender presentation, and it was a lot to wrap her head around
Although she doesn't have or want children of her own, she is the Cool Aunt to no less than four kids (Kieran, Gorim's kid, Oghren's kid, and Baby Endrin)
The game mabari imprinted on Darvis rather than her; howeever, during the Awakening era, Anora gifts her a mabari puppy which she names Astyth
Shortly after her reunion with Gorim in Denerim, she has an identity crisis and indulged in one of my favorite tropes, the Dramatic Character Moment Haircut (before and after pictured below)
#dragon age#ch: marja#aeducan#if you actually read all this then god bless#i could ramble about my girl all day#seriously if you want to ask more about any of this i will happily ramble about it#i just think she's neat <3#dragon age origins#da worldstate infodump

In reaction to this post, @irlactualwizard wrote:
This is beautiful. On the note about maces and the like, they're traditionally horseback weaponry. I'm unsure of the usefulness or practicality of a dagger tucked away in a weapon primarily used from 'higher ground' or where CQC wouldn't be common. I mean, fall off the horse, drop the mace and draw the saber or katar. Although, redundancy is what keeps humans alive. It does strike me as odd that they wouldn't have shoved an extra weapon in just for the niche.
That notion of dropping the mace then drawing something else with longer (or for really close quarters, shorter) reach is something which may well have happened, though not just because it was an exclusively cavalry weapon. All the other weapons were also used from horseback, and in one instance its original Indo-Persian name is pretty specific about equestrian origins.
The zaghnal, that wicked pick-axe thing...
(yup, there's a dagger...)
...has a European equivalent called a "horseman's pick" and supposedly copied from Ottoman weapons which would have been zaghnal-shaped; this one is Polish or Hungarian...
The hatchet-knife bhuj was - per Wikipedia, Bygone Blades and Oriental Arms - a popular weapon with the Gujarati and Sindhi cavalry, who also wore a distinctive style of full armour...
(yup, there's a dagger)
(This time there's a gun, and probably a dagger too because why not?)
Most conclusively, the proper name for Indo-Persian battleaxes is tabar / tabarzin, which means "saddle-axe".
These included some of the few real-life examples of double-headed battleaxes (with daggers, but of course...)
Though popular in fantasy art, IRL usual practice was to have an axe on one side and something different like a hammer or pick on the other side in case the axe wasn't effective enough against whatever kind of armour the opponent was wearing.
And of course even single-headed axes often had the usual dagger tucked away.
Here's yet another with a sword-hilt (also possibly a dagger) and a built-in matchlock gun...
And here's one where some warrior just couldn't make up his mind.
Here's a mace with a similar (khanda broadsword) hilt:
I took a close look at various mace-pics I've posted (here and here), something I should have done before, then searched further on-line, and I'm starting to think they had no daggers because mostly their hafts were solid rather than hollow...
Thanks go to @irlactualwizard for prompting me to track down an answer to my own question - though I'll be waiting for someone who knows far more about Indian weapons to correct me. :-P
Finally, here's a display case showing three more maces, a couple of the double- (here triple-) -bladed daggers called haladie, and a few examples of what Indian weaponsmiths could do with the basic concept of a sword blade...
...including making use of a European hilt, top row second left. Its blade may have been mounted on an Indian khanda or talwar hilt, which happened often enough to create a whole class of "firangi" (Frankish) swords.
There are many more pics on my blog and elsewhere. Once again, for fantasy edged-weapon inspirations, India is a great place to start...

Bruce and de Bohun, were fightin’ for the croon,/ Bruce taen his battle-axe and knocked de Bohun doon.
An old Scottish rhyme handed down through the centuries, it's origins were from the first bit of action recorded at The Battle of Bannockburn on 23rd June 1314. In the 1930′s Wishaw firm, Battleaxe confectionery marked this by putting this verse on the wrappers of their Battle-axe toffee, I love the patriotism of firms like this.
The rhyme tells of the Bruce dispatching of the 22 year old English Knight Sir Henry de Bhun had given the Scottish troops a massive morale boost.
On the first day two English cavalry formations advanced towards the Scots who were positioned beyond the Bannock Burn. As they crossed the stream, the English formations encountered a body of Scots, among them Robert the Bruce himself, the most notable knights in these type of situations were recognisable by their attire, our King would have stood out among those around him with the Lion Rampant in red with the rest or tabard being a bright yellow, as seen in the pics.
As soon as the English sighted the Scots without warning, Henry de Bohun, the nephew of the Earl of Hereford, raised his lance and charged at the unsuspecting Bruce. Bruce turned to face him and, at the last moment as the two passed side by side, he swiftly pulled his pony aside, dodged the lance and split Bohun's head wide open with his battle axe. The effect of seeing the English knight fall dead at the feet of their King raised the Scots’ morale incredibly. The Scots then rushed upon the remaining English who struggled back over the Bannock Burn.
After being chided by his generals for risking his life in single combat, King Robert’s only regret was that he had broken the haft of his good axe in the duel.
If de Bohun had killed or captured Bruce, he would have become a chivalric hero. So, spurring his warhorse to the charge, he lowered his lance and bared down on the king. Bruce, an experienced warrior, didn't panic, but mounted "ane palfray, litil and joly" and met the charge. Dodging the lance, he brought his battle axe down on de Bohun's helmet, striking him dead. Elated, the Scots forced the English cavalry to withdraw.
Two of Edward's experienced commanders, Sir Henry Beaumont and Sir Robert Clifford, attempted to outflank the Scots and cut off their escape route – very nearly surprising the Scots. At the last moment, however, Thomas Randolph's schiltrom dashed out of the wood and caught the English cavalry by surprise.
A ferocious melee ensued. Without archers the cavalry found they were unable to get through the dense thicket of Scots spearmen, even resorting to throwing their swords and maces at them, until the Scots pushed them back and forced them into flight.
The Scots had won the first day. Their morale was high and Bruce's new tactic of using the schiltroms offensively rather than statically, as Wallace had used them at Falkirk, appeared to be working. Yet Bruce must have been contemplating a strategic withdrawal before the set piece battle that would inevitably follow in the morning.
For the English the setbacks of the first day were disappointing. Fearing Bruce might mount a night attack, they encamped in the Carse of Balquhiderock. The following day they still hoped to draw Bruce into a full-scale, set-piece battle where their decisive Welsh longbowmen could be brought to bear rather than let Bruce return to guerrilla warfare.
At this critical moment, Sir Alexander Seton, a Scots noble in the English army, defected to Bruce bringing him vital intelligence of Edward's army: its confined position and the low morale within the English camp. Bruce decided to risk all in the morning and face Edward in open battle.
At dawn the Scots ate their breakfast and advanced out of the wood to face the enemy. Medieval battles were seen as the judgement of God; it was important to have the saints on your side, and so, in the midst of the Scots schiltroms, Abbot Bernard of Arbroath carried their ancient lucky talisman, the Breccbennach (or Monymusk Relquary), which held the relics of St Columba.
Bruce himself made a speech invoking the power of St Andrew, John the Baptist and Thomas Beckett. Then, according to the chronicler Walter Bower: "At these words, the hammered horns resounded, and the standards of war were spread out in the golden dawn."
Abbot Maurice of Inchaffrey walked out in front of the army, led mass and blessed the Scots as they knelt in prayer. On seeing this, Edward II is reputed to have said: "Yon folk are kneeling to ask mercy." Sir Ingram de Umfraville, a Balliol supporter fighting for Edward, is said to have replied: "They ask for mercy, but not from you. They ask God for mercy for their sins. I'll tell you something for a fact, that yon men will win all or die. None will flee for fear of death." "So be it", retorted Edward.
An archery duel followed, but the Scots schiltrom rapidly took the offensive in order to avoid its inevitable outcome. Edward Bruce's schiltrom advanced on the English vanguard, felling the Earl of Gloucester and Sir Robert Clifford, while Randolph's schiltrom closed up on their left.
The English knights now found themselves hemmed in between the Scots schiltroms and the mass of their own army and could bring few of their archers to bear. Some broke out on the Scots flank and rained arrows into the Scots ranks, but they were quickly dispersed by Sir Robert Keith's Scots cavalry; the rest were badly deployed, their arrows falling into the backs of their own army.
In the centre of the field there was ferocious hand to hand combat between knights and spearmen as the battle hung in the balance. At this crucial point Bruce committed his own schiltrom, which included the Gaelic warriors of the Highlands and Islands. Under their fresh onslaught, the English began to give ground. The cry "On them! On them! They fail!", arose as the English were driven back into the burn.
The battle's momentum was obvious. A reluctant Edward II was escorted away. As his royal standard departed, panic set in. The Scots schiltroms hacked their way into the disintegrating English army. Those fleeing caused chaos in the massed infantry behind them. In the rout that followed hundreds of men and horses were drowned in the burn desperately trying to escape.
The battle was over. English casualties were heavy: thousands of infantry, a 100 knights and one earl lay dead on the field. Some escaped the confusion: the Earl of Pembroke and his Welsh infantry made it safely to Carlisle, but many more, including many knights and the Earl of Hereford, were captured as they fled through the south of Scotland. Edward II with 500 knights was pursued by Sir James "the Black" Douglas until they reached Dunbar and the safety of a ship home.
The capture of Edward would have meant instant English recognition of the Scots demands. As it was, they could absorb such a defeat and continue the war. For the Scots it was a resounding victory. Bruce was left in total military control of Scotland, enabling him to transfer his campaign to the north of England.
Politically he had won Scotland's defacto independence and consolidated his kingship – as former supporters of Balliol quickly changed sides. In exchange for Bruce's noble captives Edward was forced to release Bruce's wife, daughter and the formidable Bishop Wishart, who had been held in English captivity since 1306. For the Scots soldiers there was the wealth of booty left in the English baggage train and the exhilaration of victory.
Now's the day, and now's the hour;
See the front o' battle lour;
Today a different Army of Scots are making knew alliences in Germany at The Euros, let's hope and pray the National Football team show just a wee bit of the Spirit of Scotland and beat the Hungarias so we can celebrate and hopefully move forward into the next round for the first time ever.

Axe of the Grand Performer (battleaxe), Rare (requires attunement by a Barbarian)
✨Post made in collaboration with @camunonz ✨
I couldn't finish this subclass that has been so inspired by Draven without it having his famous spinning axes, so if you want your barbarian to be attacking a bit from a distance, this axe will suit that playstyle perfectly, you will be able to benefit from rage too! Forged for champions of arenas throughout the continent who are as much performers as they are warriors. This ornate, curved battleaxe made of steel shines when being thrown, trailing echoes of the crowd's roar as it slices through enemies while it spins in the air.
