Iris had never been the kind of person that would stare at the clock as her shift drew to a close, but this was definitely one of those days; nearly from the moment BT had left, she had been almost glued to the clock on the computer screen next to where she was working. Jessica had noticed her change in behaviour, but she hadn’t made any comment in case it was because she was still shaken from what had happened with the man she’d fought.
 What surprised Iris the most was that there were no comments about how BT had called her ‘mine’ when he’d scolded the would-be robber. Truthfully, only Jessica had heard the comment, but she knew for a fact that her coworkers were a gossipy bunch. She wasn’t about to look a gift-horse in the mouth, however, so she gladly stepped back and did her work as she enjoyed the relative peace of the store. There were no other instances that happened; most of those who came in were regulars.
 She was really looking forward to not having to hear people say “oh, honey, you’re so pale!” any more that day.
 Taking in a deep breath to relax herself as she made her way into the back room of the store, her locker and work bag sitting there waiting for her to end her shift. Pulling off her compression work gloves and dropping them on the top shelf, the pale woman exchanged them for a warmer outdoor pair to cover the back of her hand once more. Her small satchel carried her wallet and her phone, ensuring that she wasn’t lugging around a lot of weight on her way home.
 She was always ready to run, and after all these years she was pretty good at it, too.
 Pulling her coat on over her sweater, Iris carefully pulled her braid out from her jacket so as not to tug the strands before slinging her bag over one shoulder. She quickly checked the time on her phone before it went in her bag. Iris pulled the zipper of her sweater all the way up to the end, meeting just beneath her chin. It was slightly warmer today, but still a bit nippier than she was accustomed to or preferred. Just cold enough that she made sure to wear her coat.
She could feel her hands shaking, trembling at the realization that she was going to be with yet another of her soulmates. BT was the first to make an outward display of violence while with Iris, and somehow it hadn’t startled her or scared her. Normally, violence would scare her away but when it came to BT it was oddly…reassuring.
 Waving to her coworkers as she walked past the aisles and counters, Iris was relieved to be leaving work—for once. Usually, it was when she had to leave for home that made her regret not having another job.
 Meeting her soulmates really was changing everything about her life.
 Her eyes were drawn to the front window, where she had sat on the bench with BT earlier that day; he was already there. Sitting with his ankles crossed, legs stretched far out in front of him, BT was as relaxed as could be while he was waiting, a few minutes early from the time they had decided on. As though knowing that she was there, he glanced over his shoulder to meet her eyes through the window. Immediately, a smile lit his features as he stood up and turned to face the window fully.
 “Have a good evening, Iris!”
 “Thank you, Jessica, you as well,” Iris called over her shoulder before she slipped out of the store and into the chill of the evening. BT’s hands slipped into his pockets as he greeted her with a smile.
 “How was your shift?” he asked with a cautious grin.
 “Just fine; happily boring,” she assured, knowing that he was asking as a way of making sure that nothing else had happened to her after he’d left that morning. “What about you, how was your day?”
 “I didn’t do much, definitely distracted after this morning, so I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t have work,” he admitted somewhat shyly, causing her to smile bashfully as her gaze fell to her feet. “So, you have anything planned tonight?” he asked as casually as he could, scuffing his shoes against the concrete as though in nervous habit.
 Iris looked up to gauge his expression, noticing that he seemed to be half-dreading, half-anticipating her response. “No, no plans tonight. Why?”
 Some of the tension left him, but he didn’t relax entirely. “Wanna go for dinner? My treat.”
 Iris’s heart leapt in excitement as her stomach tangled in nervous knots. “I’d love to, BT. But you don’t have to pay-”
 “’Ey, no. That’s the only condition—I pay.”
 Biting on the inside of her left cheek, Iris already knew that arguing was pointless. “Alright, fine, you pay,” she conceded, shaking her head both at herself and at him. “You pick where we go, then.”
 BT’s smile was nearly blinding as he reached down and snatching Iris’s hand, pulling her in close to him as he turned away from the direction of her apartment. The additional change in her everyday routine made her slightly twitchy, an aftershock of discomfort ricocheting in her chest, but then BT squeezed her hand and started to ramble about the restaurants that he knew around town, all the while asking if she had any allergies or foods that she absolutely couldn’t stand.
 No allergies and barring only sushi or other raw meats, BT pondered for a moment before he grinned broadly again and snapped the fingers of his free hand excitedly. “I know just the place, and I promise ya, doll, you’re gunna love it!”
 She didn’t have time to react before he was tugging more insistently, nearly dragging her down the street. “Whoa, careful! My legs are shorter than yours!”
 BT immediately slowed down for her, his strides still long but significantly reduced in speed. “Sorry, doll, just got excited,” he apologized immediately as a bashful smile softened his features. “You are definitely tiny, though. Look at you!”
 “Stop,” Iris whined, leaning away when he used his free hand to hover over her head, demonstrating the limit of her height. “You guys are the worst; what’s so wrong with being short?”
 His teasing expression softened at her words, tugging her into his side again as he smiled reassuringly. “There’s nothing wrong, doll. In fact, you’re absolutely perfect in my opinion—just the right height for us to tuck you in real close.” To demonstrate, he shifted so that his arm was wrapped over her shoulder and he was able to pull her in tight against his side. Iris’s tiny stature had her with her head barely over his shoulder, so her body really did slot perfectly against his.
 Her cheeks heated at the close contact, ducking her head while leaning into him ever so slightly. “Well, I’m way past the age for getting a growth spurt, so you’re stuck with me like this.”
 BT smiled down at her before he swooped down and pressed a kiss against the crown of her head, much the same as he had done before he left that morning. “Don’t you worry—you won’t hear any of us complain about that.”
 “Good to know,” she mumbled, momentarily shocked at having received two affectionate kisses from him.
 She glanced along the street at the other people that were walking around, none of which were paying attention to the two of them. It shocked her, since she had always assumed that people were staring at her—judging her silently, even if they couldn’t actually see any of her marks. Taking a calming breath, she forced herself to focus on BT’s presence to her side.
 “So, do I get any hints about where we’re going?” she asked after a brief pause between them, remaining close to BT.
 Shaking his head, BT refused to give even the slightest hint and instead declared that it was going to be a total surprise. Looking down at her slightly flushed complexion, the tiny smile that turned up the corner of her lips, even the whiskey eyes that were directed bashfully forward, BT was certain that he could spend the rest of his time in the light just looking at her. Taking her in. It made him wonder if this was how Barry felt when it came to his art, and the urge he had to draw things.
 What he would give to be able to engrain her in his mind forward; to do so with every moment he had with her.
 None of them had really known what to expect when it came to meeting their soulmate. They’d heard from others about their experiences, and each of them had taken the time to look on the internet at people’s stories from their lives with a soulmate, dating back to their first encounter. However, they knew that it would be different for them. All sharing one body, and one soulmate, was bound to make it interesting.
 BT had been concerned when Barry took the helm; he spent most of the time in the light, and therefore the rest of the alters were worried that he would spend all the time he wanted with their future soulmate. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case, but it was still a worry none the less.
 He was going to be in trouble with Barry later, that was for certain. He’d told them to just let things fall as they may and not to force a meeting with Iris. However, it was just too good of an opportunity to pass up! To think that she was just down the street, so close to him but just out of reach all because Barry said so. No, he wasn’t going to just sit by and miss this opportunity for himself.
 And he was so, so glad that he had gone against Barry’s orders. The rage that had gripped him when he’d seen the true and authentic fear on Iris’s face, her soft coloured eyes narrowed and scared as she was faced with a man much larger than her, had been enough to cause his muscles to shake with tension. He’d come in just in time to see the smack he received to the back of his hand, reminding BT about what Luke had told him regarding her surprisingly fast reflexes, and the faintest bit of pride welled in his chest.
 She was a tiny thing and it was clear that intimidation had some effect on her, but she hadn’t let that stop her. Lashing out as she had proved that, although her backbone looked frail, it was sturdy.
 Holding her just a little bit closer, Iris glanced up at him curiously. He made sure that he wasn’t glaring or showing any of the anger from remembering that morning, and instead beamed down at her with one of his best smiles before he pressed another kiss against her hair. “Almost there. You tired from work?”
 “Yea, it was a long day. Having that man come in this morning set me on edge, too. I was tense all day,” she admitted quietly, nearly bowing her head down in embarrassment. “And I was excited to see you again.”
 “Aw, doll, I’m touched,” BT teased gently, placing his free hand over his heart in a mock-swoon. “But if we’re confessing an all, you’ve been on my mind all day.” Her pale cheeks were immediately dusted with another blush, to which BT silently celebrated. He loved it when her cheeks went rosy, it made her look livelier, but at the same time similar to a china doll. “And it wasn’t just ‘cause I was worried about you. I’ve been hoping all day that you’d say yes to dinner.”
 “Well, no more worrying,” she answered softly, giving him one of the brighter smiles he’d seen from her thus far.
 “And on that note,” he stated suddenly, slowing his stride as they approached a street corner. “We’re here.”
 Iris looked up toward the sign that wrapped around the corner. New York, New York. It was a pizza place, considered to have the best pizza from New York. “I’ve heard of this place,” she started happily, thankful that it was just a simple place and not something overly fancy. People in restaurants with big open rooms almost made her feel uncomfortable and exposed. A pizzeria she could do. “Never been here, though.”
 “Well, prepare to be absolutely amazed,” BT assured, stepping forward to grab the door for her. Iris smiled and nodded her thanks as she stepped inside, immediately overwhelmed with the smell of cheese, tomatoes and fresh dough. BT stepped in behind her, returning his arm over her shoulders as though in protective gesture.
 An older man, who Iris strongly assumed was Italian, beamed at them from the counter. “Welcome! What can I get for you two?” Yep, definitely Italian.
 BT grinned back before he turned his attention down to Iris. “What do you say, separate slices or we go all the way and get a deep dish?”
 Iris offered back a mirroring grin, though much more subdued than BT’s. “Deep dish,” she answered confidently.
 “Pepperoni?”
 “Can’t go wrong with that,” she answered immediately.
 BT was already pulling out his wallet from the back pocket of his jeans. “I’ll order, you go grab a table.” Iris knew that trying to argue about who was going to pay was useless, so she simply nodded and moved over to a free booth near the door to the kitchen. The smells coming from inside drew her in, wrapping her in comfort. She’d never really been one to eat out, so when it came to getting pizza or another greasy, in-no-way good for you food, she always found it to be a comfort.
 Sliding into the booth, Iris looked over when she heard BT’s booming laugh. He was joking with the older man behind the counter as he waited for his change. The bright smile on his face was contagious and Iris soon felt her own lips curving upward at the sight. BT glanced over at her in that instant, the soft blue of his eyes meeting her whiskey ones before he grin grew even more when he caught her watching him with a smile.
 Immediately bashful, Iris’s eyes lowered to the hands she had folded in her lap as her cheeks warmed with yet another blush. Her heartrate increased as she looked down at the back of her hand, the mark covered by her spring gloves. Suddenly, the sight of the mark covered up didn’t sit as well with her. BT showed off all of his marks with pride, even if he was going to receive looks of ridicule from people that he passed on the street.
 Swallowing thickly, Iris eased the glove off her hand and moved to tuck them into her simple bag alongside her phone. The pizzeria was warm enough that she’d overheat from wearing them anyway. BT slid into the booth across from her in that moment, the smile never having left his face.
 “So, what did you do today? If you don’t mind me asking,” she added on quickly, not sure if she was overstepping her bounds.
 BT just laughed it off. “Ask me anything you want, I won’t mind,” he assured, “and I was at the gym for most of the day. I like to exercise, probably a bit more than I should but…everyone’s got their thing.”
 Iris smiled in assurance as she remembered her discussion with Barry; his thing was art. “I understand completely,” she assured. “I love music. I’ve always used it when I needed to calm down or if I needed help focusing on something. It…centers me.”
 BT leaned forward in interest, lacing his fingers together on the table as he leaned on his elbows. “Yea? Like, you play instruments?”
 “Some,” she answered bashfully, nervously tracing her finger over the mark on the back of the hand, hidden beneath the table so no one could see. “I only took some lessons for things, so I’m mostly self-taught. Most of the lessons I took were singing lessons, actually.” His eyebrows immediately went up in surprise, though thoroughly interested, and Iris couldn’t help but to feel some pride at the expression of wonder that soon fell over his features.
 “You know you’re gunna have to sing for me now, right? You can’t just say that and not let me hear.”
 Iris covered her face in embarrassment. “Oh god, no. I’ve never sung in front of someone,” she admitted, her words muffled against her hands. BT’s eyes flicked briefly to the black mark on her hand but the writing too small for him to make out. Reaching out, he took a gentle hold of her hands and drew them away from her face to show the reddened, flushed skin beneath.
 “Relax, doll, there’s no pressure,” he promised calmly, gifting her with a more subdued, true smile. “I’d love to hear it, believe me, but only when you really want to.”
 In the past, Iris was accustomed to people reacting in much more demanding ways. They’d see her fiddling with piano keys and immediately demand that she play something, or she’d be singing under her breath when she thought no one was around at work and they’d ask her to sing something. With BT, to know that he was patient enough to wait for her to be confident in her own talents, it warmed her heart.
 “Thank you,” she whispered, meeting his eyes shyly.
 BT just smiled in return and lifted her hands to press a kiss against her knuckles in comfort. “So, what lessons, aside from singing, did you take?”
 They fell into comfortable conversation as they waited for their pizza, Iris telling him about the brief lessons she had taken for piano, guitar and violin, all by an older woman who’d retired and wanted to share her love of music. When she’d realized that Iris had a natural talent for music, she’d given her a discount on lessons and had proceeded to teach her the beginner lessons and some more advanced ones. Unfortunately, she’d gotten sick after two years and her family moved her out of state to a home that was closer to them.
 She was probably one of the closer things Iris had ever experienced similar to family affection. She’d known about Iris’s marks, at least the few that she could see, and had never judged her. “I’ve lived through too much to start judging other people,” she’d told her. “I’m met a few soulmate groups over the years and they were always the happiest people out there.”
 Knowing that other people with multiple marks had made happy lives for themselves had given Iris hope, some of the fear that lingered with the ‘what if’ thoughts dissipating.
 And now that she’d met some of them, each as charming and kind as the last, Iris finally felt that she could live in peace with her marks.

After a rough encounter with DeVoe, the team was gathered in the cortex thinking of ways to defeat him before he hurts someone else. After everyone ran out of ideas they decided to try again tomorrow after they regained some energy. As everyone was leaving Harrison called out for Barry.
“Barry, could I talk to you for a minute?” Harrison asked him. As Barry turned around he gave Y/N a nod to wait for him outside. Y/N walked out of the cortex and waited for him in the hallway.
“Sure. Everything okay?” Barry asked Harrison.
“Yes, ye- no. Actually no. With everything going on with Devoe i’m just worried about Y/N. You know how distraught we were when Zoom took Jesse and I couldn’t bare having the same thing happen with Y/N.” Harrison said.
“Hey, you don’t have to worry about that, Y/N is safe and nothing will happen to her.” Barry said trying to calm him down.
“But you don’t know that! I need you to promise me Barry, if there is any way to protect Y/N I will take the risk, whether I die or not, I need her safe. I need you to promise me to not stop me and to make sure Y/N never finds out I sacrificed myself for her.” Harrison said.
“Hey, Harrison don’t think like that. I won’t let you do that. I can’t let the woman I love lose her father to DeVoe.” As soon as Barry said that he knew he had ruined things.
Harrison turned to Barry with a glare, “The woman you love?!” He shouted at Barry.
Barry started taking steps back as soon as Harrison stood up in his seat
“Well you see . . . Y/N and I are dating. An-” Barry started but was interrupted by Harrison.
“Dating?! What did I tell you the first time you met Y/N?” Harrison shouted as he took steps forward Barry.
“That you would send me so far into the multiverse that no one would ever find me.” Barry gulped.
Right before Harrison reached Barry, Y/N entered the cortex and yelled, “Run, Barry. RUN!”
As soon as she said that the pair was gone in a flash, where they left Harrison to freak out by himself.

Hi Barry, I’m Y/N
A/N: Hey I’m back look at that okay bye. Also this is trash but whatever.
Request: No because no one will request anything but if you have a request please send it! I’m running out of things to write.
Pairing: Barry Allen/The flash x reader
Description: Batman’s daughter walks in the batcave while Barry’s running around, which may or may not lead to an accident or two.
Warnings: Swearing???
So I saw the movie a few days ago and there are a few parts I don’t remember so clearly, so if I get anything wrong I’ll fix it as soon as possible. Thanks! (Also this is trash but maybe you’ll like it idk???)
Tumblr media
Barry was extremely excited to know that Batman wanted him to be apart of his team to defeat Steppenwolf, or whatever his name was. He could barely contain any of that excitement at all. He knew he should have been listening to what the others’ were saying, but exploring the batcave was way more important at the moment.
“Hey, kid,” Bruce said. “Watch where you’re going. If you break anything, I’m suing your ass.”
“Be nice, he’s just excited. You’re rich, anyways,” Diana said, walking up to Bruce.
“That’s very true.”
Everyone was sitting down (except for Barry, obviously) when you came in.
“Hey, dad,” you said, walking through the door. “I was wondering if-”
It happened so fast it was almost like you couldn’t have felt the impact. Someone ran into you, at an abnormally fast speed.
You tumbled backwards and almost slammed into the wall behind you before someone grabbed your arm and pulled you into them.
“I am so, so sorry. I didn’t see you walk in and I wasn’t paying attention and-”
You blinked and looked up into dark brown eyes. “No, it’s okay. That was my fault.”
“No, that was mine. Are you okay? Did I hurt you at all? Please don’t tell me anything is broken.”
“No, yeah. I’m fine.” You slowly blinked again, feeling a little dizzy.
“Hey, kid. Get your hand off my daughter,” Bruce said, walking over with everyone else.
“What? Oh, yeah. Sorry,” Barry mumbled, letting go of your arm.
Diana cleared her throat. You turned your head to look at her.
“Diana?”
“Hello, Y/N.”
You walked forward and opened you arms, enveloping her in a hug. “It’s so good to see you.”
“It’s lovely to see you as well.”
A wave of dizziness ran over you and you leaned into Diana. “Are you alright?” She asked, putting a hand on your forehead to make sure you weren’t sick.
You nodded, closing your eyes and leaning into Diana more.
Bruce looked at you and then at Barry. “Kid, I swear to God if you gave her a concussion or anything-”
“Bruce,” Diana acknowledged. “It was an accident. Y/N, dear, can you look at me?”
You opened your eyes and looked in Diana’s brown ones. She noticed one pupil was slightly larger than the other, and how you kept blinking very slowly.
“She definitely has a concussion. We need to get her to the hospital.”
“I-I’ll do it,” Barry mumbled, looking at you.
“What? Oh, no. You’re the one that gave her the-”
“Bruce!” Diana scolded. “Be quiet. Barry, that would be wonderful. The nearest hospital is a few blocks away, I think.”
“Diana, I’m not letting the kid-”
“If we wait any longer it could be worse than a concussion, Bruce. This is the fastest way.” Diana looped an arm under your legs and picked you up, walking over to Barry. You were basically passed out at this point. She put her arms out and Barry put one arm on your back and looped the other one under your legs, just like Diana did. “Call us when you get there.”
He nodded and ran off, almost running into the door on the way out.
“Well, that was interesting,” Arthur said, walking away from the group.
-----
Barry found the hospital in about three seconds.
He rushed you in (at a “normal” pace, of course), and had you at the front desk as soon as possible.
“Can I have her name, please?” The lady at the front desk asked.
“Uh, Y/N. I think.” She looked at Barry suspiciously before putting the name into the computer.
“Right. So, what happened?”
“Well, I think she has a concussion. I don’t really know what happened, but she was kind of passed out and then it seemed-” Barry lied and rambled on and on and on.
“Okay, slow down. You said she may have a concussion?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, that’s all. Please take her back there,” she pointed to a door. “Room 137. The doctors will take care of her from there.”
“Okay, thank you.” He rushed to the back room and gave you to one of the doctors. Right after, they pushed him out of the room. He pulled out his phone and called Diana.
“Hello?” She answered, not knowing the number.
“Hey Diana, it’s Barry. I’m in the hospital.”
“Oh, that’s good. Is Y/N okay?” She asked.
“I don’t really know yet. I think she’ll be okay, I’m not allowed in the room so I can’t tell.”
“Okay, well, make sure-” The connection started acting weird until Barry heard another voice.
“Kid, I swear if this ever happens again I’m going to-
“BRUCE!” Barry hung up the phone and sat down in a chair, looking up at the ceiling. He felt so bad for running into you, and he knew it was his fault. He didn’t even know you, he only knew you were Bruce’s daughter. He probably ruined all chances at talking to you, too. He thought you were really pretty, and he knew you were probably the only pretty girl he might ever get to talk to.
He was so lost in thought he didn’t hear the nurse open the door. “Mr. Allen, she’s awake if you’d like to see her.” He nodded and stood up, walking into the room.
You were sitting up on the hospital bed, holding an ice pack to your head. You had a TV remote in your hand and you were looking through all the channels. When Barry walked in, you looked over at him and smiled.
“Hi.”
“Hey,” he said, shifting on his feet awkwardly.
“You know, there’s no reason to be nervous. I don’t bite.” You turned your attention back to the TV, scrolling through the channels again. Barry watched the TV go through channels until it finally stopped at one. Supernatural. You threw the remote to the end of the bed and crossed your legs.
Barry slowly walked over to you and sat on the chair next to your bed. He looked at you while your eyes were focused on the TV. You really were pretty. He didn’t get to get a good look at you until now.
You looked over at him and smiled. “So, you’re the reason I’m here from what I’m guessing.”
“Yeah...sorry about that.”
You giggled and looked back at the TV. “It’s nothing really. I’m a Wayne, I can handle it. Plus, you got me out of school for a week or two.” You looked back a him and leaned back on the bed. “You know, we never go to properly introduce ourselves. I’m Y/N.” You swung your feet across the bed and stuck your hand out.
“Hi Barry, I’m Y/N,” he said. “Wait, no, that’s not right.”
You giggled and stood up. “Nice to meet you, Barry. Thank you, too, for bringing me here and everything.”
“I mean, it wasn’t really anything but, no problem.” He stood up next to you.
You leaned over and kissed his cheek, grabbing his hand. “Come on. We have to get home before my dad kills me. Or maybe you. I don’t really know at this point.”
Barry smiled to himself, picking you up and running out the door. Maybe he’ll have a chance with you after all.

Yeah that was trash.

Complicated (Prt8) - Barry Allen x Reader
Complicated (Part 8) - Barry Allen x Reader A/N: Lmao rip. Feel free to message me if you have a question, if u would like to know more about the story, or if u just wanna talk lmao. oh also I can never find the perfect gifs 😵 Summary: After checking out the new crime scene, things start to get a bit hectic. Disclaimer: I’ve never actually watched Arrow, I apologize for that. If you notice any huge mistakes or gaps, please, message me and let me know. Constructive criticism is encouraged ! Warnings: suggestive themes, cursing, anxiety ig Word count: 2960 more or less hhhhh —
“Body was found by that bicyclist” Joe turned to the guy then back to the corpse, “Same M.O. as the first one. The victim was performing here last night. He’s a lounge singer named Julio Mendez” “Julio Mendez?” Barry inquired, “In Flashpoint he was Captain Mendez” “Flashpoint?” I cut in, “Like your parents, Flashpoint? Ramon Industries, Flashpoint?” I paused, “You and me, Flashpoint?” I raised an eyebrow at Barry. His expression changed as he seemed to remember the time he spent in the alternate timeline. It went from a sheepish look, to one of realization, to one of embarrassment. Barry turned a bright red, and I couldn’t help but wonder why. He swallowed hard before coughing. “Yeah,” he averted my eyes, “that Flashpoint” “So, in Flashpoint, this alternate timeline that you lived in, he worked at the CCPD?” Asked Julian, trying to get rid of the awkward situation I’d just created. “Yeah,” Barry answered him, he thought before speaking again, “Wait a second, the other the other vic, Stuart Holzman do we have a photo of him?” “Yeah” “Can I see it?” Barry asked eagerly. “Yeah, hold on” Julian said as he took out a his phone to show Barry a photo. “That’s him” Barry said, his face finally turning back to its normal shade. “What is it?” “He was a cop there, too” “Damn, cops gettin’ hate” I added. “So this is the second dead cop from Flashpoint?” “Yeah” “We got to figure out who this guy is” Joe obviously stated. “Well, if we hurry, there’s still a chance we can get some of the attacker’s residual DNA before this corpse disintegrates, but we’ve got to move quick” Julian said. “What are you waiting for, Allen?” I turned and teasingly raised an eyebrow at Barry. “All right,” he smiled back at me, “come on” he said to Julian. There was a whoosh and lightning trail. Before I knew it he was back and had dropped off Julian at S.T.A.R. Labs. “Did anybody see me?” Asked Barry. “Damn, I barely saw you” Said Joe. “I will never get used to that” I said. “Look, we got to get going” Joe told Barry, completely excluding me. “Where you guys heading?” I tried asking nonchalantly, but couldn’t help sound a bit jealous. Obviously, I was new here and wouldn’t be included in every hang out or get together they had, but that didn’t mean I had to be okay with it. I mean, Joe’s a great guy. Everyone here is. The thing is, they’re great together. They’re a family. They know each other. They’ve all been through so much. I’m the outsider here, and I’m making my way in one way or another. “We’re meeting up with Cecile and her daughter for lunch” Joe quickly told me and I frowned.
“Cecile?” I thought for a second, “Work Cecile?” “Uh, yeah–” Joe started, but Barry cut him off. “They’ve got this thing going,” Barry explained to me, “And we’re meeting her daughter for the first time”      “Oh,” I realized, “Oh! Wow, okay–um–well, good luck I guess. You guys will be fine. Just gotta let your true selves shine for who you are. Um–I guess I’ll see you guys later then” I smiled politely at them. “Did you want to do something?” Barry quickly asked me, “Because I can skip th–” “No! No, that’s okay” I told him, “I was just going to go check out one of the apartments–” “Apartments?” Joe asked me.      “Yeah, I’m finding a place to stay at. It’s just  that I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get around the city easily. I’ve literally been here a few weeks–but I think I’ll be fine! You guys have your lunch thing” I tried to not show my disappointment, but Barry saw through me. “I can meet Cecile’s daughter another time. I’ll help you get around town, let me just–” “You are not skipping this lunch, Barry” Joe firmly told him, “(Y/n) just said they’d be fine, so let’s get going”      Joe motioned for Barry to follow him and started walking off. Barry gave me an apologetic look before shrugging. I gave him a soft smile and a wave. “Jitters later?” He said, walking backwards. “Jitters” I nodded.
     I watched as he jogged over to Joe. I watched them visibly arguing, even from where I was at. I watched as they bickered about the lunch, or possibly me. I watched as they not-so sneakily turned around to look at me. I watched as they waved at me when they noticed I saw them. I watched as they walked off and disappeared behind a corner.      I watched as they left me alone.
“Of course not, Cisco!”      I walked down the streets of Central City while talking to Cisco on my phone through my earbuds. Which, Cisco had made and designed both items himself. He installed a bunch of apps on the phone including a Meta Human app that could notify me of an attack.      The phone had been waiting for me when I first woke up. Apparently, Cisco had a feeling I’d be needing a new one and just decided to make me one. I was grateful, but confused as to why he had made me one.      My phone was in my pocket as I spoke through the mic in my earbuds. “What? Why not?” Cisco asked on the other line, “It has an amazing view and was at a good price”      “Exactly, it was at a good price,” I told him, “until that douche bag found out I was loaded with money and raised the price on me” “But,” Cisco asked carefully, “are you loaded?”      A lot can happen in two years apparently.      “I–” I sighed, “I-I have s-some money in a bank that wa-as stored for me back when … ” I rubbed my temple as I walked, “Yes, okay? I’ve kind of been doing my own thing with the whole money situation–      ”–a-and I may have parted some money aside back when,“ I dropped my voice, "back when Oliver was running the company,” I groaned, “Of course I took some money, I knew he wouldn’t be able to handle it, so, yes! I am, kind of, loaded. Jesus, I’m such a bad person” I looked up at the sky as I continued to walk restlessly.      “Girl,” Cisco started his pep talk, “You were doing what you thought was right at the time. You’re not your family and that was your money, too. You were being cautious and prepared” “But–”
     “No but’s. Your family did the best they could and it’s up to them to decide how that goes for them. Now, you have that money for yourself so you can spend it on a nice apartment. Eat a good meal, settle down until you get your life back in check.      "It can’t be that much money, right? I mean, what do you have? A couple thousand dollars?” “More like 6,” I swallowed hard. “Thousand? That’s nothing. Maybe you should’ve taken more–” Cisco tried joking around. “Million” I winced as I closed my eyes. “ … (Y/n)” Cisco said on the other line.      “It’s not like Oliver would’ve realized I took anything! Like I said, he did stupid things with his money back then!” I defended myself. “You are so buying me pizza this week” he told me and I gave a weak laugh. “Shut up,” I shook my head.      “I just don’t understand, you liked the place, why didn’t you just buy it?” Cisco asked me in confusion as he referred back to the apartment I was checking out earlier.      “I wasn’t going to give the guy selling the satisfaction of winning me over,” I rolled my eyes, “Besides, I have a tendency to buy ridiculous things–er–that’s what my mother used to say anyways” I scratched he back of me neck. “Dude, video games are not ridiculous–they are amazing” Cisco told me and I laughed. “As great as they can be, I still haven’t found a place that I really like” I sighed, “Also, I think I’m lost” “Keep walking, another 2 blocks, and you’ll find Jitters on your right” Cisco informed me.      “Really? Thank–” I stopped myself and stood in place for a second, I opened my mouth to speak, but quickly closed it. I looked around with a frown on my face, “Cisco–” “I may or may not have put a tracker on your phone” Cisco’s voice went up a pitch.      “Dude,” I held my hands out in exaggeration and shrugged my shoulders, “don’t put a tracker in my phone without my permission” “It was just for precautions” Cisco told me.
“Great,” I started walking again, hopefully towards Jitters, “I don’t think I’ll ever find a place”      Cisco was quiet on the other end. As I walked, I felt my phone vibrate. I took my phone out and saw it was a message from an unknown number. ’Yo u think I could help me out later ?’ I frowned at the number.      “Hey, you know, if you don’t want to go through the trouble of looking at more apartments, you could just stay with me for a while?”      I was taken back by the two suggestions. I was quiet for a moment.      “I mean–only if you want to,” Cisco quickly added, “It’s just that, being here, waking up, missing everything–it just all seems like so much and I thought maybe–” “I’d love to stay with you, Cisco” I quickly said, “I’ll pay rent and I’ll buy you pizza and video games and” I smiled, “thank you” My phone vibrated again with another message. ’This is Wally btw lol Cisco gave me ur # Just wanted advice on speedster stuff thought maybe u could help idk’      I hummed at the message. “Great,” Cisco’s voice was enthusiastic, “I guess I’ll take that pizza tonight. Dinner is on you”      I could practically hear the smile on his face. I laughed at that and we said our goodbyes. As I hung up, I went to respond to Wally’s messages. ’boiii Ur supposed to be having lunch with Cecile and her daughter stop texting me !! also y me ?¿’      I sent the messages and took the earbuds out of my ears. I held the middle of the two earbud cords and swung the tips around as I continued walking. I could see Jitters in the distance. I silently thanked Cisco for putting a tracker in my phone.      I checked my phone again to see if I had gotten any new messages. Wally must type slow, huh, that’s ironic. While I was at it I went ahead and added Wally as a new contact. I started looking through my phone for things to keep my distracted while I walked. Then, I got a message. ’Idk i mean after all u did get struck by lightning, too Barry’s also telling me to pay attention to our lunch ugh u guys r the most annoying parents ttyl’      I chuckled at him comparing us to his parents. However, I was confused as to why he would do such a thing. I mean, his sister was dating Barry, wasn’t she? I didn’t bother responding, but I couldn’t stop staring at that first message.      He was right. I was struck by lightning, too. Did that make me a speedster? Does it take a while for the powers to accumulate? Since I was in a coma for longer–does that mean I don’t get my powers early on? Or at all? Am I overthinking this? Am I not thinking enough?      Questions raced through my head as I thought of the possibilities. What was to become of all this? My pace picked up as did my thoughts. I put my earbuds away and started fiddling with my hands to distract myself. I sighed, trying to relax myself, but only became more frantic.      As I approached Jitters, I wondered if coffee was the best thing for me right now. However, I didn’t have much time to wonder. People starting coming out of the cafe in a frantic manner. I sped my way towards a woman of my age. Joe and the others could still be in there. “Excuse me!” I called out to her. She turned to face me with a sour look on her face. “Hi, I’m sorry to disturb, but what’s going on?” I said, my voice shaking. “There’s a metahuman in there, you should probably run” she told me, starting to frantically run again. “Oh! Wait! No, I’m actually–” I tried yelling and catching up to her.
     “You’re actually helpless in the situation,” she said, cutting me off, “Unless you’re the Flash or Kid Flash, I suggest you run like everyone else” She then quickly ran off.      I watched as she ran off, as everyone ran off. I instinctively reached for my phone to call for help–Oliver, Felicity, Thea–anyone. I stopped myself when I realized I couldn’t call them. A wave of anxiety washed over me again. I had to do this on my own. I couldn’t fall into old habits.      I tried calming my breathing as I carefully walked up to Jitters’ entrance. I stayed by the wall, creeping my way up. If there was a metahuman attack, I’d have to be extra careful. I slowly peered over the glass doors. I saw a man in dark clothing speaking to a group of others on the second floor. On closer inspection, I realized it was Barry and everyone else.
     As the man, assumingely the meta, approached the others, Joe pointed his gun at the man. My eyes widened and I took my gun out as I quietly walked in. As I did so, Joe shot at the man.      Three bullets moved through the air in what seemed like slow motion. The three bullets disintegrated as they touched the man, and the remains fell to the ground. I stared in shock at the way the world seemed to move slowly around me. However, the feeling quickly went away as the man spoke. “Told ya,” the man said, reaching for a pillar holding up the floor everyone else was on. “Freeze” I spoke, pointing my gun at the man.      The man stopped and slowly turned to look at me. He took me in, stared me down. He looked at my shaking hands and raised an eyebrow at me. I quickly glanced at Barry, giving him a signal to get everyone else out. Barry just shook my head at me, his eyes full of worry and panic. I looked back at the man and stood my ground. “They didn’t work when he did it,” The man gestured with his head to Joe, “Why should they work when you do it?” “Because I’m not going to shoot” I calmly said and the man frowned.      I heard a swoosh and I felt a gush of wind. Oh, thank god, I thought.      I didn’t move my gun, but I noticed Barry was still up with everyone else and that Wally wasn’t. “Stop,” Wally told the man, walking towards him. My eyes flickered between both of them. “Ah, ah, ah!” The man snickered, “You can’t touch me speedster”      I noticed Wally and Barry look at each other, Barry signaling hand movements. Wally stopped and turned to me, I shrugged my shoulders. Wally rolled his eyes and gestured for me to leave. I frowned and shook my head. He gave me a desperate look and I started giving in. I backed up, not completely leaving, but out of the way.
     Wally turned back to the man and started waving his hands around, I watched as, again, everything moved in slow motion. Wally created air funnels and the amount of wind caused the man to fall back and crash through the back glass door.      I saw Wally normally run out of the room, while everything else still moved in slow motion. I felt myself shaking, a lot more than usual. Everything returned to its normal speed, and Barry came running towards me. His eyes were wide as he approached me.      I looked down as I saw my hands moving in an inhuman speed. I dropped my gun in surprise. I felt myself start to freak out. I felt Barry grab my hands and keep them from vibrating. I looked up at him in shock. “I was struck by lightning, too,” was the only thing I managed to say. “(Y/n), listen to me, we need to get you out of here” Barry began guiding me out of Jitters. “Barry? Queen!” Cecile called out as she saw us rush out.      Barry didn’t mind her as he opened the door for me. He quickly took me to an empty alley. My whole arms were shaking now, too. The rest of the world decelerated and I felt electricity run through my body. Barry seemed to be the only thing that was moving with me. “Barry, what–what do I do?” I looked at him with bewildered eyes. “We need to get you to S.T.A.R. Labs” he told me as I felt my whole body vibrate. “I can’t” I shook my head.      As I did so, Barry slowed down. He stood there, slowly taking me in. I felt myself worry again. I was alone. Not even Barry could keep up with me. My legs were starting to shake harder and I needed to move. Calm down, I told myself, you’re okay–you’re okay–what would Barry do?      I tried calming down my breathing. Concentrating on slowing down. When I did, I managed to understand what Barry was saying. “Run, (Y/n),” his voice echoed through my head, “run”

ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey my loveeeees! So idk if y’all knew, but I took a huge hiatus from this blog and I’m so deeply sorry. When I started this blog, I was depressed. I wrote these imagines because it allowed me to imagine myself away from this world. I sat in my room for hours just writing.
And I loved it.
Don’t get me wrong, this blog made me so happy and it gave me motivation to work hard. I worked hard for you guys. The readers. The ones who could be able to receive the imaginary world that I tried to paint for you in these small imagines. The ones who made me so happy whenever you would send messages to me. Really, I am so grateful that you took a couple minutes of your time to tell me how much you love my writing or just some amazing ideas that you’d love for me to write! It makes me so happy, y’all :)
But then, as life went on, I realized I didn’t want to just sit in my room. My life on this earth became...well, not so bad anymore. My aunt just graduated from Stanford and that encouraged me to work harder than I have been.
To never ever settle for less.
I also met someone. And trust me when I say, you do not ever need nor should you seek someone to make you feel happy.
That is so important. I was feeling better before I became close with him. I was just feeling more happy. And I believe that God blessed me with him because while I didn’t need him to be happy, it really helped.
It helps to have someone there for you, you know? To have a shoulder to cry on, and to have someone to talk to.
So that’s why I’m continuing this account again :) because I want to make all of my beautiful followers happy. I want you guys to know that I am here for you. That if you don’t have someone, well, I’m that someone. Come to me. My heart has gone through so much, and it is so large.
I am here for you.
And I will continue writing my imagines. Because if perhaps you’re too shy or don’t feel comfortable talking to me yet (don’t worry I’ll make y’all comfortable ;)), I hope that I can make you happy with my imagines.
AND IM SO SORRY THIS MESSAGE WAS SO LONG AND IF YOU READ ALL OF IT YOU GET A SPECIAL PRIZE (idk yet but maybe I’ll put your imagine requests first?? lol idk) but yeah...
I love you guys. So much. And just know that I’ve been sad for maybe 6 years? And now I can say I’m finally happy. I’m at peace with myself. So just know...it always gets better. Life is constantly moving, and nothing is forever. Yes, that means happiness isn’t also forever, but I will strive to make you feel it nonetheless. Because everyone deserves to feel happy. Even if for a minute. But it’s a minute well wasted.

Third Times a Charm (Valentines)
Tumblr media
Requests: “Could I request a Barry Allen Valentines day fic, please? :) Maybe Barry is trying to make a really romantic/special day for reader and work keeps getting in the way each time they get together? Love you and your fabulous writing. 😘” (Credits to gif owners!)
Try 1: The whole point in Barry bringing you to a Valentine's dinner a week early was because he wasn't sure if something would come up on Valentine's Day itself. It was a mutual decision to go out a week early and just spend time together. So the first try at a date was when Barry was going to bring you to dinner and then a movie.
 But he called and explained he couldn't because there was a bank robbery and he needed to be there. You understood, you weren't so disappointed. It was something you were both mentally prepared for so there was no big deal.
So you shrugged off your nice dress and dressed in your pajamas while watching T.V. until you fell asleep. Barry showed up at your house later looking upset as ever and regretting choosing the bank robbery over you. So you explained he couldn't help it and it's his duty as The Flash to help people. For the rest of the night Barry held you close, and he didn't know it but you considered it a date.
 Try 2: Two days after the bank robbery, Barry was excited to tell you that the movie you wanted to see was still selling tickets, except there would be a romantic Jitters rooftop dinner. That was exciting. So you got ready together, just like you did everything else. Barry was excited, you were excited and everything was going great since he turned his phone off.
 "Tonight is about you. Whatever is happening in the real world can wait for the night." He promised and kissed your nose. "And you look beautiful." He complimented the dress you were supposed to wear the other night. Your cheeks turned red and he continued watching you put your makeup on like he had never saw such a thing before.
 You ended up seeing the movie before dinner and you were really excited because it was better than you thought it would be. Dinner was quiet and intimate. Just the both of you smiling and eating, talking about how your week was going and bringing up the interruption from your cancelled date the other night. You forgave him even though he grabbed your hand and kissed your knuckles and apologized repeatedly.
 Until Cisco made his way to the rooftop awkwardly and rushed. "Hey uh, nice...date." Barry was angry and you just looked down at your plate. "No need to panic...but there's a shooting at the CCPD...Joe is inside." Barry pushed himself out of his seat, there was a beautiful red streak where Barry had disappeared and returned as The Flash. You understood, his adopted father was in the building. He had to help him.
 Barry made his way to you and caressed your cheek, the cold leather making your skin jolt. "You okay?" He kissed your forehead. "I'm so sorry-"
 "No you have to go, the man who raised you is in that building. If you didn't want to go I'd have to make you." You assured him and Barry was gone, your hair whipping around your face and the napkins from the table hit you in the arm.
Cisco chewed his fist and you knew he felt bad. "I can help you clean. Or help you eat it." He offered. When you pointed to Barry's empty seat, Cisco became jittery and took Barry's place, helping you eat through the table of food.
 Try 3: You were starting to feel suspicious when Barry showed up in your bedroom late last night. You woke up to him stroking your hair and caressing your cheek with his thumb.
 "What are you doing here?" You asked with your voice filled with sleep. You rolled over to face him, you could tell he was tired. It was late and he should be asleep from kicking ass everyday of the week.
 "I feel really bad about everything that's been happening. Come on. Walk with me." He held out his hand that you willingly took and he helped you out of bed.
 So your date was uninterrupted, nothing special, just a walk in the park. Holding hands and talking. Everything was casual and relaxing. "This is all I wanted. I just want you to myself for a while. Is that too much to ask for?"
Barry gave your hand a reassuring squeeze. "No it's not. I'm all yours right now. Whatever you want to do."
 "It's like one in the morning." You laughed and he was soon joining in. "I mean I think I was having trouble sleeping anyway." You ran your hands along his chest.
 "Well technically it's Valentine's Day. It's one in the morning on February fourteenth. Maybe you want to get started early?" He grinned crookedly.
"That sounds promising." Was all you said before you were in his arms and making your way back to your house.
 So maybe you didn't need a fancy date, but you needed Barry. And at least an hour of his attention on Valentine's Day. Your date was a walk in the park and spending time with him. It was as simple as that and you asked for nothing more, nothing less.

Issues (r.c) part 1
Tumblr media
pairing: rafe x reader (slight jjxreader & barryxreader)
summary: a story on addiction and falling in love.
(This does not follow the plot of the series, no gold, no murder.)
warning: drugs, language, parental abuse. (18+)
You stood at the end of the dirt road, Barry’s house in your peripheral vision. Your heart raced as you pep talked yourself the whole ride over, Your legs ached as you stepped off your bike and laid it up against a tree.
Quietly you walked towards his house, you had been here once before but only because of your dad. This time you were there for yourself, you had never brought drugs and usually dipped into your dad’s stash up until he caught you red handed, he caused both your eyes to swell the size of tennis balls.
You didn’t think you needed more coke, but the sweats started, and your mind raced, you were seeing things that weren’t around. Your fingers raked up and down your arms constantly feeling as though small ants crawled on your pale skin.
“Look what we have here” Barry called out; all eyes set upon you. Your throat constricting as you stood back, Barry pulled himself to stand signaling for you to walk over. You did so quietly until you stood in front of him. He wasn’t much taller than you, but you still felt small under his gaze.
“Daddy sent you on shopping trip?” Barry asked, his hand gripping onto your chin harshly. Your stomach felt heavy as a million thoughts ran through your head. You knew you shouldn’t have come here but you also knew you couldn’t go another day without a hit.
“N-o, I came for myself” You whispered, you kept your eyes trained on his as a sick smile appeared on his lips and he dropped your chin. He couldn’t help himself and laughed loudly causing everyone to look back you.
“Just like your daddy” He commented, he reaches down to rifle through the duffle bag under the ripped lawn chair. You catch a glimpse of the white bag and you can’t help your leg from bouncing in anticipation.
“How much you got on you?” Barry questions, keeping the bag hidden from your view. You pull out the money you currently had on you and he replaces your cash with the small bag. You already knew that would only last you maybe 5 days tops.
“Thanks” you say, already turning on your feet to run back to your bike. You don’t stop to see what else he has but you can hear him whistle out as he watches you run. Probably liking the fact your pants were very short.
----
The Kegger was in full swing, you were dancing with Sarah and Kie as you all sipped on luke warm beer. You were high as a kite, sweat dripping down the valley of your breasts as you shake your hips to the music.
“You’re in a really good mood Y/N” Sarah cheers, all you do is nod with a wide smile not trusting your words right now. You were in a good mood; you had been for four days but as the stash of cocaine got smaller, your heart stammered knowing you had to go back to Barry’s.
“Should we go smoke some dope?” Kie questions, you nod and follow them towards JJ who is leant against a log. His head is tilted backwards as he blows out smoke rings, another smile replaces your frown.
“Share?” You ask, placing yourself between his legs and leaning over him slightly. He shamefully lets his eyes wonder down until they are set upon your breasts. You watch as his Adam’s apple bobs and he nods passing you the joint.
He can’t seem to keep his eyes off you as you place it between your lips and take a long drag, blowing the smoke back into his face and passing it onto Kie who’s bouncing in her seat.
“You already smoked?” JJ questions, his eyes scanning yours and you nod. You hadn’t smoked but you were not going to tell your boyfriend you were doing coke. He wasn't into the hard stuff and neither were your mutual friends.
"Well let's save the rest for the others" He smiles, signaling for Kie to take it away. You roll your eyes at his protectiveness and pulled away from him. Any other given day you wouldn't have minded, but the fogginess of the two kinds of drugs and alcohol were not helping.
"Okay Debby downer" You whine, you've already walked away from him before he can respond and you start looking for someone else to talk to. Your eyes setting upon Rafe and some kook.
You're not sure what comes over you but you find yourself watching him, the way he twists the thick rings on his fingers and runs his tongue over the rim of his cup. Your eyes scanning his physique as he spoke to the blonde beauty in front of him, the way his hooded eyes drank in her half naked body.
"Are you seriously checking out my brother, while your boyfriend sits over there?" Sarah questions, her body stepping in front of your view shielding your view to Rafe. You find yourself awkwardly laughing and furiously shaking your head.
"Shut up, why would I do that?" You joke, nudging her shoulder and stealing the mai tai from her hand. Taking a quick sip and pulling her towards the group of people dancing and she places her arms around your waist, you let her dance on you as you keep your eyes trained on Rafe.
Things seem to escalate from there, you watch as he pulls a small bag from the pocket of his cut off chino’s. Your mouth watering at the sight of the white substance and you can’t stop the cold sweat racking your body. You excuse yourself from Sarah and walk straight to him, forgetting your friends and boyfriend are around.
“Hey babe” JJ calls, his hand grasping your bicep to stop you from walking. Your eyes darting between Rafe and JJ. Your leg is bouncing against the sand.
“Wanna go back to yours?” He questions, his smile is sweet and for a second your heart melts at the boy in front of you; you forget about the cocaine that Rafe is about to dish out for a split second but then the cold sweat is back and your fingers are scratching at your elbows.
“Nah, dad’s home plus I am having fun” You state, you try to play nice but you can’t help the slight annoyance roll from your tongue and you notice the way JJ reacts to your words. You never turn down alone time with him, even when you were mad at him.
“What’s wrong? You’ve been running off all night?” JJ asks, his grip on your bicep tightens when he notices you stepping back like you're about to walk away from the confrontation. Your brows furrow together and you yank your arm away from him.
“Don’t touch me like that” You growl, your heart racing as your mind goes back and forth with memories of your dad pushing you around. His angry yells and slaps to the face causing you to flinch away when JJ reaches out again.
“I SAID DON’T TOUCH ME” You scream, you don’t mean to cause a scene but you're coming down from your high and the images of the coke in Rafe’s hands are the only thing keeping you on your feet right now. You needed a free hit; you didn’t want to go back to Barry’s.
“Woah woah Y/N, what’s wrong?” Pope asks, he also reaches out to you like JJ and you flinch away from him. Both boys stare at you confused and you can’t help but sprint away. Your cheeks flushing pink as you notice all the people watching you run.
No one goes after you though and you're left to find your own way home, you had contemplated going back to Rafe and asking for a hit but you couldn’t find it within yourself in case you bump into the Pogues. You're also extremely embarrassed by how you acted.
So you go home and search for your dad's stash, which was a stupid mistake because of course he has nothing but he catches you rifling through drawers and he slaps you so hard you fall and go head first into the oven door.
You wake up the following morning with a major headache and you're swollen, you don't dare look in the mirror to see the damage he has caused. Instead you get on your bike and ride to Barry's. If you just got one more bag you would stop, you didn't need it to survive.
Here you are again looking at the beat up trailer and overgrown grass, except this time you notice a fancy red motorbike parked out front and you instantly know it's Rafe's. You can hear his voice yelling from the other side of the trailer.
You quietly walk around until you catch sight of Rafe sitting on the floor, the palms of his hands pressed into his eyes and Barry straddling a chair. You can't make out what they are saying but you can tell by the tense demeanour of Rafe it's not good.
You're about to walk away when Barry notices you and the smile on his face turns into a frown, he climbs off the chair and walks over to you. You catch a glimpse of pity in his eyes as he takes in the bruising on your face.
"I need more" You whisper, you feel pathetic and worthless under his stare. You know you're better than him by far but the fact you're here again when you could be out on the boat with your friends is the main reason you feel so shit.
"Your daddy do this?" Barry questions, his hand once again coming to hold onto your chin but instead of making you feel weak he inspects your bruises and the tightening in your chest magnifies but not from worry.
"Mhm" Is all you can muster up, your eyes glance down to Rafe who is now staring up at you. The same look in his eyes as Barry has and suddenly you feel weak under their stares.
"Stop, I just came for more Barry" You state, you pull his hand from his chin and pull out the last of your cash. Barry nods and reaches for his duffle bag once more, you keep your eyes trained to the floor as you feel Rafe's eyes on you.
"Country club you want some too?" Barry asks, both you and Rafe lock eyes for a brief moment before he looks away and answers Barry. He pulls himself to his feet and reaches for the bag, whatever they had just been talking about seems to be brushed under the rug when he hands Barry a large sum of notes.
You're given the bag and you make your hast exit before either of them go to say anything more, you're so close to leaving when you take it upon your self to walk back to Rafe who is climbing onto his bike.
"Don't tell your sister you seen me please" You beg, your eyes plead with him and it only takes a tear to drip from your bruised lid for him to nod.
"Lips are sealed"
"Okay thanks"

Request: None/From My Own Brain
Summary: You’ve been in love with a boy since you were 6 years old, however, that is also when you left him, moving to Minnesota. Now that you are officially an adult and fresh out of college, you burn some time and get a job, conveniently working alongside him.
Word Count: 3,000+
Masterlist
Your P.O.V. (Second P.O.V.)
~Remember back to when you were 6 years old. That's where this will start~
You laughed as the little boy you had been playing with, landed a perfect flip off of the best swing in this park. "Yayyy! Good job Bear! Teach me please?" You questioned staring into his blue-green eyes.
"I dunno, I might have to go soon..."
"But Barryyyyyy,"
"Fine. But only for a little bit," he responds while giggling at your sudden transition from a pouty face, to an extremely excited one.
You, being the quick learner that you are, had soon perfected the little trick and called your mother over so you could both show-off. "Mommy! Come look at what my new friend taught me!"
"Hmm?" Your mother looked up from her book to watch you guys. You both successfully landed as she clapped and laughed at your scared face when you had almost lost your balance.
You turned towards Barry as your mother informed you that you'd have to go home soon. "Thanks Bear!" You were grinning from ear-to-ear as you continued, "I had so much fun today and meeting you! I couldn't ask for a better friend!"
"No problem, Y/N! You'll come back tomorrow, right?"
"Yep!" You exclaimed, popping the "p."
"Okie! Bye Y/N and Ms. Y/L/N!"
"Bye-bye!" You and your mother both responded.
You had kept going to that park, every day, just to spend more time with your newest friend. In fact, the end of summer was drawing nearer, and your family was planning on moving, tomorrow, on account of your father being promoted. You didn't know exactly where you were moving to, as you tried to tune out their voices everytime your parents talked about moving. You hated the thought of leaving. Leaving your hometown, friends, close family, and hiding spots was too much for you. But, you couldn't really do much about it, seeing as you were 6. So, instead, you went around and got pictures of your favorite spots and people, while your sister/brother tagged along, to make sure you wouldn't get kidnapped, this is L.A. for Pete's sake.
At last, you ended up at your favorite park. You immediately smiled as you saw Barry waiting for you on the swings. "BEAR-BEAR!" You screeched, as your brother/sister sighed and you took off towards the swing set.
"Y/N/N!" He yelled back, jumping off the swing and bracing himself for your daily tackle-jump on him.
Your sister/brother chuckled, turning their camera on and taking a couple pictures and you and Barry fell on the grass.
You both sat up and immediately fell back over laughing. You eventually stood up and posed as your sibling took pictures of you both. After all the fuss was over you and Barry sat on the swings one last time before you would leave. "I'm going to miss you so much, Y/N," Barry said, slightly tearing up. "I don't want you to leave..."
"I don't want to either," you were tearing up as well, but tried not to show it. "Just, pinky promise you won't forget me?"
"Pinky promise."
You hugged each other for a bit, then, wiping your eyes, stood up. "Y/N! Time to go! You still have to finish packing up your books!"
"Coming Y/S/N!" You yelled. "Bye-bye forever Bear..."
"Bye-bye Y/N/N..." He whispered, holding back tears, as you walked away. Away from your favorite person, knowing you'd never forget how much this boy meant to you.
That night, you had finished packing and ended up crying yourself to sleep. Your father had come in to wake you up at 3:40 a.m. They had finished packing everything, except everyone's sleeping bags and suitcases of essentials and clothing, into the moving van. You rolled up your sleeping bag, tossed it into the back of your families mini-van, grabbed your suitcase, and jumped in the truck, falling back asleep as you left your old life behind.
~Fast-forward to when you are 18, moving out of your small home in Minnesota, and moving back out to California, L.A. specifically, to start college~
You sat in your living room, surrounded by clothing, books, supplies, and photo albums. Sighing, you looked up at you mother. She laughed, "how about I pack this stuff in the suitcases, and you pick which photos you want."
"Really? Oh my gosh, thank you so much!" You exclaimed falling backward onto your pile of photo books. "Ouch!"
Your mother laughed even harder and you shot her a death glare. Picking up an album without removing your glare, you looked puzzled at it. "Mom, were all these from when we were in Cali?" You questioned, flipping through the pages.
"Oh, I almost forgot about that album! You can have it, it's mostly you anyway."
You looked back down, then stood up. "I'll be back in an hour, okay?"
"Alright, just don't forget bug spray, it's in the bathroom!" She shouted as you walked towards the bathroom.
That was just like your mother to read your mind and know where you were going. Then again, it's the only place where no one bugs you (minus the actual bugs).
After applying bug spray, and grabbing some sweats, you began the trek, up the hill, to your treehouse. You dad had helped you build it when your family first moved to Minnesota. You immediately claimed it as yours, and that's the way it has stayed for 12 years.
Climbing up the worn ladder, you stopped at the top and turned around. This gave you the perfect view of the just-beginning sunset. ‘Perfect!’ You thought as you finished your ascent into the small room. Sitting at your small desk, and giving yourself another breathtaking view of the setting sun, you switched on your small battery-powered lamp and opened the book.
As you slowly turned the pages, one-by-one, memories flooded to the front of your mind. Tears started flowing as you saw pictures of your siblings, parents, friends, family, and events. Wiping your eyes, you flipped to the last page and saw one single picture. It was you and a small boy... what was his name? He seemed so familiar, yet, you couldn't remember his name.
By now the sun had completely sunk. You shut the book, turned off the light, and left your treehouse, back towards your house.
When you walked in, the scent of your favorite dinner filled your nose. Smiling, you walked back to the living room and placed the album in one of your suitcases.
~Timeskip to after you graduate college because I haven't even been through it and I don't know what to write xD~
"Thanks for watching everyone, next time on (Y/C/N)" You waved goodbye to everyone and ended the video. "WOOP TIME TO EDIT!" You screamed, knowing no one would hear you.
You had started this whole YouTube thing, as just a hobby back in your second year of college. It gave you something to keep you busy, considering you breezed through assignments and classes, and you were creative enough to keep the channel going and growing. You were currently at 2.6 million subscribers, gaining about 450,000 more a week. After you had graduated college with a bachelor's degree in I/D/H. You had decided to just stay in L.A. to continue your channel and see where life takes you. But now, being a full-time YouTuber, only uploading twice a week, you had a lot of free time. As much as you loved spending that time playing video games, you needed something more challenging, more..... exciting.
So, the next day, you were flipping through the area's newspaper. Maybe there would be an ad for you to earn a little extra money?
Suprise, surprise, there was! "Experienced editor needed for video making. $---- per week, call Suzy at, xxx-xxx-xxxx for details," you read to yourself. "Hmm, why not? I could do that!"
You immediately grabbed your cell and dialed the number. She picked up almost instantly and you talked for about 10 minutes, then, set up a Skype interview. Suzy sounded so excited to hear from someone, like, this position was needed A.S.A.P. or something. She also said that you sounded like the type of person they were looking for, so that made you extra happy!
~Timeskip to a week later, an hour before the interview~
You looked at the clock. 4:30. The interview was in an hour and you were so excited, that you had started getting ready 2 hours ago. Being extra careful with your outfit choice and make-up. You were wearing black jeans and converse, as well as a Legend of Zelda sweatshirt and your lucky watch. You had only done your eye make-up, considering you felt your lips looked fine the way they were. You quickly put your H/C hair into a messy bun and turned on your favorite show.
Soon, it was 5:25. You jumped up and grabbed your laptop, pulling up Skype, and making sure you looked alright. At exactly 5:30 sharp, the ringing starts. Putting on a smile, you answered.
~Timeskip again because I've never had a Skype interview~
"Well, thank you so much for letting me have this interview!" You say, glancing at the time, 6:15, and noticing she was wrapping up.
"No problem! You are so much fun to be around," she laughed. "Honestly, in my opinion, which is the most important right now, you should get the job. Your personality is perfect, you like the same topics we do, we are able to hold a convo together, AND I feel like we will be friends soon!"
You blushed as she complimented and chuckled at the rest. "So I got the job?" She nodded, "Thank you so much, Suzy! I can't wait until I meet you all in person!"
You were ecstatic, and, by the looks of it, so was Suzy. "So you accept! Hooray! I'll send you the Grump Space address and you can start on Monday!"
"Thanks! Bye now!"
"Bye!"
The call ended and you jumped up and down on the couch until you were too tired to continue. Monday was 3 days from now. That'll give you plenty of time to watch some of their videos to get the gist of what you were in for.
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* *BEEP BEEP BEE--*
"Urrng," you grumbled, smacking the snooze button on your alarm.
You lay in your bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to wake up. After about 3 minutes, you rolled over to grab your phone. Turning the cell on, you realized what day it was, and practically jumped out of bed. You rushed to the bathroom and hopped into the shower. You began to sing some songs that popped into your head. Luckily, no one else lived with you.
After practically screaming 3 songs, you got out of the shower and started getting dressed into your favorite red sweater, as well as some high-waisted jeans and matching sneakers. You quickly checked your already-done nails for chips. Surprisingly, they still looked flawless. You still had an hour before you had to leave, so you spent a good 20 minutes perfecting your hairdo.
After you were satisfied with your hair, you sat down to do your make-up. You put on a shade of red lipstick that matched your outfit and started working on your eyebrows. When they looked fabulous, you started working on your eyes.
By the time you were done with everything, you still had 10 minutes left. You quickly spritzed some perfume on yourself and grabbed your bag. Sighing, you spoke to yourself, "Might as well get going. Better early than late!"
You grabbed your phone and lucky earbuds and walked outside into the crisp, cool morning. You smiled and went to start your car. The box full of essential items was already in the backseat, a result of being nervous and prepared last night. In the box were items such as perfume, your travel make-up bag, Pokémon figurines, your favorite book series, several potted plants, various office supplies, and a picture frame holding the old picture of you and a small boy.
~Time hops into the future are easy escapes for authors~
You pulled up to the Grump Space, as Suzy had called it, and shot a text to Suzy telling her you had arrived. You got out of your car, grabbed the box, and started towards the door. As soon as you arrived at the door, it opened, revealing the gorgeous creature that was Suzy. "Y/N! Welcome! I was worried you wouldn't show up!" She giggled, holding the door. "Come in, come in! I'll show you your desk."
Giggling at her statement, you walked inside and realized that you were the only ones here. "Uhm, Suzy? Where is everyone? Did I show up too early?"
"No no no, the guys are always late. Well, except for Arin, I make him come with me."
At the sound of his name, Arin walked out from the kitchen, carrying toast. "Oh hey Y/N! Welcome to the Grump Space! Did you eat breakfast yet?" He offered a piece of toast towards you, which you gladly accepted. He walked over to, what you assumed was, his desk. While taking a bite of your toast, Suzy lead you over to an empty desk. Your desk.
She opened your box and helped you set up your little workspace. Before she could see the picture, you quickly put it face down on your chair. When you were both satisfied with the way the desk looked, she noticed the photo frame on your chair. "Oops, I guess we missed something!"
You gasped and reached out for the picture, but you were too late. She picked it up and stared at it for a while. "Y/N, this is so adorable! Is that you? Who is this little boy? I swear I've seen him before..."
"Do you know who he is?" You asked without thinking. Realizing what you said, you immediately looked down, blushing. "I-I mean, yeah... It's an old friend and me when we were younger, living here in L.A."
"You don't remember his name?" She asked, obviously puzzled.
"No, for the life of me I can't. I remember that we met the summer before I moved to Minnesota, but that was all the way back when I was 6. I've had that photo for years now, and I still can't remember his name."
"Awe I'm sorry Y/N. I can help you try to remember, though, now that you work with me!" She looked cheery again, which made you light up again as well.
"Oh thank you, Suzy! That would be great!" She set the frame on your desk as you continued, "I'd love to meet everyone else first, though. I've been binge watching videos to get myself pumped and ready to edit, for the past few days."
"Really? So I hired a fan," she chuckled.
"A slight one," you grinned.
"Well, I guess it's less work for Barry, then."
"Yup, I even watched his tutorial on GrumpOut, so I know pretty much all I need to, already!"
"That's perfect Y/N!" She squealed and hugged you.
Just then, a tall, fluffy haired man walked in, singing. Behind him, walked in a shorter, bearded man. "Dan! Barry!" You shouted.
Dan stopped singing, and they both turned to look at you. Locking eyes with Barry, he smiled and you slightly blushed. He seemed familiar. And not because you knew him from the videos.
"You must be Y/N, the new editor!" Barry said, still holding eye contact.
"Wait, I didn't know we were getting a new grump?" Danny turned towards Suzy, quite confused.
"Dan, I told you guys all last Friday. That was the day I interviewed her, remember? I even showed you guys some of her videos!"
Quickly facing Suzy, you asked, "you showed them my videos? Is that how you knew I was, quote, perfect for the job?"
"Yup! Your videos were Barry-approved," she laughed.
You turned back to face Barry and he winked at you. "Well, welcome to the team!" They all started clapping, as Arin walked in cheering.
Then, a groggy, blue-eyed man walked in. Looking up, everyone stopped. "Did I miss something?" He questioned as everyone started laughing.
~Another timeskip to when peeps are recording and Barry is giving you a quick run-down at his desk~
"Annnnnd, that's about it! Seeing as you already knew most of that, we have some break time."
"Really? Oh, 'cause they're recording and what-not." You headed over to your desk to grab your phone.
Your desk was just off to the right of Barry's, just in case you would need any help. He turned towards your desk as you spoke up again. "Coffee run?" You suggested.
He nodded, but his eyes were locked on your desk. Following his gaze, you noticed he was looking at the photo frame. You turned your head back towards him, to find him now staring at you. "Is that you? Like, in the picture?"
You smiled, "yeah, it's me and an old friend, here in L.A., from before I moved when I was six. Before you ask, no I don't remember his name, and yes, I'm trying to find him because he was kinda my first love..."
"Y/N..." He turned back to his desk, quickly opening drawers, looking for something.
"Yes Barry?" You were a little confused while you waited until he found what he needed.
Smiling, he pulled out a small, photo from the top drawer. Before you could see it, he spoke again. "So, you're looking for your first love, too?"
You nodded, and he continued. "I met my first love back when I was six, she moved away, though, and I wasn't sure where. The day before she had to leave, we spent almost the entire day together, and her brother/sister took a picture of us. A week later, I got the picture in the mail, and I've been looking for her ever since," he noticed how confused you were and showed you an exact copy of your picture.
You gasped and jumped up. You both hadn't noticed, but as Barry was telling the story, everyone else had started listening from various spots in the room. Barry stood up and you ran to hug him. He seemed surprised at first, but quickly relaxed and spun you around. "Barry I've been looking for you for years!" You squealed.
"Y/N I can't believe I finally found you!" He responded, equally as excited.
You both stayed hugging each other until Suzy tapped your shoulder. You quickly parted and noticed everyone else in the room. Barry blushed as Suzy spoke. "Well well Y/N, I guess you really did need my help to find him," she laughed.
"Thank you Suzy, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Looking around the room, Arin and Dan smiled and winked at you, then walked back to the recording room. Ross yawned and said "congrats" before turning towards his desk, and Suzy turned to walk upstairs. "So, how about that coffee run, love?" Barry looked at you, still blushing.
You smiled, equally as red, and grabbed his hand. "I'd love to, Bear," you winked at him.
You both left the building to get ready for the first day of your finally satisfied life.

Tumblr media
Barry didn’t expect Bruce Wayne to be sitting on a chair in his computer lab when he walked into the warehouse, and definitely didn’t expect Bruce Wayne to ask him to become apart of his team to defeat Steppenwolf.
“Okay, but there’s nothing special about me,” Barry said, walking over to one of his computer’s.
“Then what’s this costume for?” Bruce asked, standing up and walking over to the flash suit.
“I do competitive ice dancing,” Barry lied, pulling up a tab on his computer.
“Right, right.”
Just then, the warehouse door opened and you, his best friend and crush-not-crush, walked in.
Barry turned around and looked at you, smiling. You smiled back and both of you blushed. Bruce noticed this and looked from you to Barry. He then quickly pulled out a Batarang and threw it in your direction.
Barry's eyes went wide. He knew what Bruce was doing, trying to get him to show his power’s. Everything was suddenly in slow motion. He ran over to you and grabbed your wrist with his left hand, pulling you out of the way. He grabbed the Batarang with his right hand and caught it between his fingers.
Bruce smirked and sat back down in the chair. “Not special, huh?”
“You know, this is lovely and all, but I would appriciate if you didn’t throw Batarangs at my girlf- best friend. Thanks.”
You blushed behind Barry and looked at the ground.
“Okay, well hurry up and make up your mind, kid.”
 Barry sighed and let go of your wrist. “Yeah, I’ll come.”
“W-wait, where are you going?” You asked in a whisper.
“I have no idea. I just have to go with Mr. Wayne here to-”
“Can I come?”
The question caught both Barry and Bruce off guard, as they stared at you for quite a few minutes.
“Depends,” Bruce said. “Can you fight?”
“Well, kind of. I know how to shoot a gun and use a bow and arrow, though.”
Barry coughed awkwardly. “So you’re saying that you know how to use a bow and arrow but you never told me?”
“Yeah...”
Barry looked at you with admiration in his eyes.
Bruce cleared his throat and looked at you. “Okay lovebirds, hurry up, we don’t have all day.”
You blushed and looked down.
“Right,” Barry mumbled, “Sorry.”
Both of you walked in opposite directions. You went to grab your jacket and Barry went to grab a box of pizza. When you were done you meet at the door with Bruce.
“Why the hell do you have a whole pizza?” Bruce asked Barry as the three of you walked out to Bruce’s car.
“Well, since I have super speed, I burn calories, like, ten times faster than the average human would, so I have-”
You started to zone out after a while, falling asleep in the back of Bruce’s car.
-----
“So anyway, the problem with-”
“Let me stop you right there, kid,” Bruce said. “You talk way too much.”
“Right, sorry. It happens when I’m nervous,” Barry muttered, looking out the car window.
There was an awkward silence before Bruce spoke up.
“So, tell me about your girlfriend.” Bruce looked at Barry and smirked.
“She’s not my girlfriend.”
“You sure? I mean, the way the two of you look at each other and the way you both blush while talking to each other kind of makes it seem like you’re a couple.”
“Yeah, well, we’re not, so just drop it.”
“It’s kind of obvious she likes you, Barry,” Bruce stated.
Barry snorted. “I wish.”
“You should ask her out.”
Barry looked at Bruce with his mouth agape. “What?”
Bruce sighed. “Listen, kid, you like her, she likes you. Ask her out. You two would make one hell of a couple.”
“I-I can’t. I mean, god I want to so bad, but I can’t. She’s my best friend and I don’t want to ruin our friendship if she doesn’t like me back. I wish I could but, I just can’t.”
“Kid, listen. You have to try. If you don’t try now, you may never get the chance.”
“Yeah, but what if-”
“Enough of the ‘what if’s’. You’re going to ask her by the end of the day, got it?”
“Um, yeah. Okay, yeah. I’ll ask her by the end of the day, I promise.”
-----
You woke up just as Bruce parked his car at the Batcave. Bruce opened the door and stepped out of the car, you and Barry following after him.
“Oh my god...” Barry muttered, looking around.
“Pretty great, right?” Bruce asked, walking away. You and Barry followed likewise, taking in your surroundings as you walked along.
At one point Barry absentmindedly reached out and grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers. You blushed and looked down at your intertwined hands, smiling to yourself.
You continued to follow Bruce for a few more minutes before you stopped in a large room. At a table sat a young woman and an older man. The young woman stood up and walked over to you and Barry. You felt Barry drop your hand when she reached you two.
“You must be our new recruits. It’s wonderful to meet you. I’m Diana.”
She held out her hand Barry took it. “Hi Barry, I’m Diana,” Barry said. “Wait, no, that’s not right.”
You snickered as Diana pulled away and put her hand out towards you. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Y/N.”
She looked at both of you and smiled. “So, are you two a-”
“No, we’re not,” Barry protested, cutting her off.
“Oh.”
An awkward silence settled in the room before Bruce cleared his throat. “I’m just going to need to take Barry here for a few seconds, to, talk,” Bruce suggested, grabbing Barry’s upper arm.
“But, Mr. Wayne-” Barry interrupted.
Bruce pulled Barry away before you could here anything else. You swore you saw him wink at Diana before he left.
“So, Y/N,” Diana began, starting to walk forward. “Tell me about yourself.”
“Well, uh, I like animals, and art,” you muttered. “I also guess I like read. I mean, okay, I love to read. I can shoot a bow and arrow, too.”
“That’s cool. I know how to use a sword.”
“Cool.”
It was quiet for a minute and you could only hear the clicking of Diana’s heels. “Do you have a boyfriend?”
You felt your face heat up. “Well, no, but-”
“Are you interested in anyone by chance?”
“I mean, yeah, but-”
“It’s Barry, isn’t it?”
You sighed. “Is it that obvious?”
She laughed. “Just a little.”
“Damn.”
“You should ask him out. Like, on a date. I’m positive he likes you, too.”
You snickered. “That’s funny.”
“Oh, come on. It’s obvious he likes you back. I mean, he was the one that grabbed your hand, wasn’t he?” Diana smirked.
“You saw that?”
“Obviously. We all did. You could probably hold his hand more if you asked him on a date.”
“Yeah, no.”
“Why not?”
“Out of all the people in the world he could possibly like, why the hell would it be me?”
“Well, you’re a beautiful young lady who is very sweet and is an absolutly wonderful person, even if I’ve only known you for an hour or so.”
“Your point is?”
She sighed. “Y/N, my point is that you should take that chance and-”
“WE’RE BACK!” Bruce exclaimed, walking in the room with Barry following behind him.
“Wonderful. Bruce, do you think I could talk to you for a minute?” Diana asked, smiling at Bruce.
“Of course.”
As they were walking out of the room, Diana turned around and winked at you.
“Hey,” you muttered.
“Hey.”
There was a long pause before you both spoke up. “So I was thinking-”
“You first.”
“No, you go.”
“Okay,” Barry paused. “So, I was wondering if you maybe wantedtogotothemovieswithmethisSaturday?”
You looked at him for a few seconds in confusion. “W-what?”
“I was-I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me this Saturday?” He mumbled, looking at the ground.
“Like-like a date?”
“I mean, yeah. O-only if you want it to be a date, though. It doesn’t have to be if-” You cut him off by gently pressing your lips against his.
The kiss was over about as quick as it happened, but for Barry it felt like forever.
“So I’m gonna take that as a yes?”
“Yes, Barry Allen. I would love to go on a date with you.”
You both smiled at each other, leaning in for another kiss.
“FINALLY!”

–-
The next morning, Barry was up before I was. It felt strange, like a one night stand. Without the actual sex, that is. Regardless, I was in the Cortex as Barry and Wally were getting ready to race around the city.
I was calling my former Captain back in Star City (I thought it was Starling City, too, but apparently they rebranded or some thing now that Ollie’s the Mayor ?¿? Mandela effect *-* ¿), Frank Pike. Man, was he upset I didn’t call sooner. I was explaining my situation to him, trying to stay calm and relaxed.
“Cisco, you good?” Barry’s voice came from the monitor.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the Central City Speedster 500 is about to begin. But first, I’ve got six-to-one odds. Barry takes down Wally. Any takers?” I heard Cisco say.
“Yes, sir. Of course I understand–” I kept trying to get through Pike’s head.
“–we’re betting?” I managed to hear H.R. say.
“Sir, it’s just, I was working for you for almost 5 years–yes, sir, I did disappear, but in my defense, I was struck my lightning–and I was the best you had” I tried reasoning.
“Put me down for 20 for Barry” Iris said.
I looked up at Cisco and snapped my fingers. He noticed and I started making hand signals. Indicating I was also betting on Barry.
He mouthed the words ‘how much?’ and I mouthed back 'hundred’. He raised his eyebrows and nodded in approval.
“Damn, girl” He continued taking everyone’s bet.
“Sir, if you let me go now, I promise you, you’ll never have anyone as hardworking and committed as me” I pleaded with my him. I pinched the bridge of my nose and hoped for the best. I heard Pike sigh heavily.
“Oh yes! Pay up” Iris said with a smile.
I looked over and realized Barry had already won. Jeez, this call was taking longer than I expected. The line on the other end was quiet for a minute. I started to think Pike had just hung up. Then, he spoke.
“Queen, you’re not wrong about being one of our best. Your work is truly magnificent. You will be transferred to Central City Police Department as soon as possible”
I almost squealed right there. For a second there I didn’t think it would work.
“T-Thank you so much, sir! I promise I won’t disappoint–!” Everyone turned to me as my tone changed to a much happier one.
“Don’t thank me yet. You start today, an hour. Get your things and be on your way. Report to Captain David Singh as soon as possible”
“Wait–I’m sorry–d-did you just say an hour?! I know you said soon, sir, but–”
“No 'but’s, Queen, if you want to keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll do as I say. Got it?” I swallowed hard as he scolded me.
“Y-Yes, sir” I heard him sigh through the other end.
“Look, kid, this isn’t easy for me either, but things are tough around here, and it’d be a hell of a lot easier with you here” I could hear his frustration through the phone.
     “Sir, with all due respect, you’ve done fine without me for two years. Having me around won’t make any difference. I-I think a new start is what I need. Trust me, sir” my voice dropped down to almost a whisper.
“God, (Y/n), what am I going to do with you?” He chuckled, “You Queens are gonna drag my ass down”
“It’s what we do” I joked.
“Yeah, well tell that brother of yours I said 'hi’,”
“Will do, thank you, Captain”
“My pleasure”
I hung up. I looked at my phone unbelievably. I let out a shaky laugh and looked up. I noticed everyone staring at me, waiting for me to say something.
I quickly texted Oliver.
‘Pike says hi’
My phone dinged. God, Oliver was fast.
’oml’
There was a gush of wind & lightning then Barry and Wally were back. I made sure everyone was settled down before I spoke. I give an unsure smile before speaking.
“I have now officially transferred to CCPD” My voice was shaky.
The reactions around the room varied, but they were mostly happy, as I hoped they’d be. Cisco looked at me like a proud mom. Caitlin was surprised, but glad. Joe congratulated me with a reassuring smile.
Wally smiled in my direction, I assumed he was happy I’d stay longer. H.R.’s eyes widened and he threw his drumsticks to the air in celebration. Iris seemed as to be speechless and Barry was ecstatic.
“Seriously?” He came up to hug me, a huge grin on his face.
“Yeah” I laughed as I hugged back.
“Does that mean you’re staying?” He whispered full of hope.
“I’d never leave you, Barry Allen” I smiled before pulling away, “I was really scared I wouldn’t be able to transfer, but here I am”
“I told you you’d be fine. You’re the best” he smiled adorably and I shoved him playfully.
“Shut up, I have to report to Captain Singh in like an hour, so I have to go” I started gathering my stuff before Barry stopped me.
“Hey, fastest man alive, right here, ya know?” He pointed at himself.
“Yeah, well from what I’ve heard, you have a tendency to be late regardless of said fact” I threw a teasing smile at him before frowning.
“Hey, anyone else hungry or is that just me?” I questioned before walking out of the cortex room.
Joe and I arrived at Luigi’s not too long after stopping at CCPD. We walked in and saw Julian and Barry already examining a body.
“Hey guys, this one is, uh–” Barry tried finding the words.
Oh, God.
“–pretty ghastly. Detectives, I warn you” Julian says as we reach them.
Barry’s voice.
“What the hell,” I said as I uncovered the decomposing body.
“That’s the body?” Joe asks.
“Yeah, why?” Responds Barry.
His voice–it’s really husky and hot.
“He died less than eight hours ago” I answered and Julian turned to me.
“Eight hours?” He asked.
“He was a chef here, Stuart Holzman, and the owner confirmed that he was working last night” Joe explained whilst I took a closer look at the body.
“Huh,” Julian looked at me and I shrugged. “That’s a lot of damage in a short amount of time,” Barry observes.
Is this his work voice?
“We thinking it’s a meta?”
“Maybe it’s a meta?”
Joe and I spoke at the same time. We looked at each other and frowned before laughing softly.
“It may be a meta, although certain chemicals can cause similar reactions” said Julian.
“Yeah, any acid–” Barry started.
“–with a pH below two, that’s right” I finished, remembering it from an old case.
You can seduce me any time you’d like, Mr. Forensics.
“Precisely, Ms. Queen” Julian answers, “We could be looking for an aggressive variant necrotized fasciitis”
“A flesh-eating disease” Barry concluded. “That’s gross” I said.
But his tone isn’t.
“In a restaurant?” Joe rushed out, “I’m never eating out again”
“Okay, so an autopsy might help us hone in on what really did this” Barry suggested.
I need to stop.
“Yes, I agree,” Julian said, “unfortunately County denied my request for a 3D image medical scanner, which would make short work of the process”
“–Okay, well, we have one at S.T.A.R. Labs” Barry interrupted.
He’s the one who needs to stop talking like that.
“Allen, this is an active case,” Julian shot at him, “there is protocol to follow”
Julian looked up at me and Joe. We both looked at each other and shrugged.
“Surely?” Julian looked back at Barry.
“Not if we’re gonna figure this out” Barry told him.
Why does he do this to me.
“Okay, I’ll bag the body myself and meet you there” Julian said.
“Great” answered Barry as he stood up.
I stared as Joe and Barry left the restaurant. I turned back to Julian. Then to the body. And back to Julian.
“Does he always sound that hot when working on a case?” I asked him, straight faced, “Or just when he’s concentrated, because, God, I can’t tell if that was adorable or if I’m just turned on by him. Either way, I’m smitten”
“What?” His eyes widened and he frowned. “–What?” My face was still blank.
“Did you say–”
 “I–what–no–” I overlapped his sentence.
 “–something?”
 “–I didn’t–did you?” I finished by shaking my head and frowning.
      There was a moment of awkward silence. He was just staring at me. I figured he was trying to find out whether I was serious or not. After a few seconds I couldn’t help but let out an awkward laugh.
 “Bloody hell, (Y/n)” he trailed off with a small smile.
 “I-” I bit my lip, trying to contain my laughter, “-nope”
 “Just help me get the body back to S.T.A.R. Labs, will you?” He tried remaining serious.
 “Yeah, yeah” I teasingly rolled my eyes.
 “Okay–no. I’ve literally never heard him speak in that tone”
I argued with Julian as we entered S.T.A.R. Labs. We had Stuart’s body bagged and on a bed with wheels so it was easily transportable.
“He always speaks like that!” Julian laughed at me.
 “Who always speaks like what?” Cisco pokes his head out at us as we walked by the Cortex. I motioned them to follow Julian and I.
“Barry speaking in this really low voice” I answered, “Oh, and Caitlin, would you mind doing an autopsy for our Stuart friend here?”
      I spoke as I motioned to the body. We entered the med bay and Julian and I moved into the pathology room. Which also doubled as the operating room and so on and so on.
 “I’d be honored” Caitlin said.
Julian and I centered the body in the middle of the room before returning out to Cisco and Caitlin.
 “Actually, I think I’ll be fine on my own” Julian argued.
“Shut up for a second, Julian, and just listen to what I have to say for once,” I joked. “We are here, not only to start the autopsy soon, but to open and close this case once and for all”
Cisco and Caitlin looked at me suspiciously. Eagerly waiting for me to tell them what this so-called case was all about.
 “You two may have heard Julian and I arguing when we first arrived–”
“It’s hard not to” Wally pointed out as he entered the room.
 “Ah, more witnesses, yes. Well–we were arguing about how hot Barry sounded this morning–”
“I didn’t know you swung that way, Julian?” Cisco jokingly asked.
“We were arguing about the tone he speaks everyday, not how hot he sounded” Julian told his side, “and if I did swing that way, that’s none of your business, Ramon”
“Hard not to when you guys are all so good looking” I teasingly said with a wink and everyone else gave a smile.
“Anyways, I was just telling Julian how much deeper Barry’s voice sounds when he’s at work, which I just happened to find attractive” I shrugged.
“Which I answered to with: Barry always sounds like that and sounds more depressing than anything” Julian narrowed his eyes, pretending to think.
 “That’s what this is all about?” Asked Wally with a laugh.
     “Hey, just hear me out guys!” I continued as everyone teased me, “When I met Barry roughly two years ago, he was a small little bean with big big dreams”
The room filled with laughter as the conversation went on.
 “Barry was anything but that when we first met” Julian said and I argued.
“Yeah, well, Barry was literally the cutest thing when we met. Even now he always speaks to me with a happy tone. Just his normal speaking voice.
"When I walked through that restaurant not even an hour ago, I had no idea what was in store for me. I don’t know if it was the crime scene, or the urgency of it, or the acceleration of me being here, but his voice definitely does not usually sound like that.
"It was like he was a totally different person and I cannot deny his voice really turned me on” I laughed in embarrassment, but, luckily for me, they all laughed because they thought it was funny.
 “You’re literally so screwed, (Y/n)” Julian shook his head, laughing. “Can’t disagree with Julian there” said Cisco.
My face fell as I realized what they were talking about. Iris and Barry. And Savitar, too. I internally groaned before laughing a humorless laugh.
“Yeah, yeah, Iris and Barry,” I answered, “I admit, it’s not the best situation to be in, but let me have my moments and I’ll let you have yours” I smiled awkwardly at them all.
     Wally smiled warmly at me as he shook his head jokingly. Julian and Cisco were still giggling like school girls about my little 'moment’ as I had called it. Caitlin rubbed my shoulder apologetically while giving me a small smile.
I pushed my hair back as I sat down in one of the white chairs. Caitlin and Julian went to go get ready for the autopsy. The rest sat down, and as we waited we joked around as best as we could. H.R. joined in, too.
Soon, Julian and Caitlin were ready and entered the pathology room. We all stood up from our chairs, eager to find out what had happened to poor Stuart Holzman. Barry quickly joined us.
 “You think this is what it’s like to be a character on CSI?” Asked Cisco and I hummed in response.
 “What do they hope to gain from that examination?” H.R. questioned pointing at Caitlin and Julian with his drum stick.
I looked at him in disbelief. Does he seriously not know what an autopsy was? Well, I guess not everyone would know. Either way it made me uneasy. Barry started answering H.R.
“They’re trying to find the exact cause of death. Once we know that, we’ll have a better idea of what we’re dealing with,” Barry looked over to Wally, “But until then, we need to train”
Wally’s eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.
 “I’m going to teach you everything I know, starting with phasing” Barry told him.
“Yes, finally!” Wally praised Barry.
 “Wait, I wanna see,” I interrupted, “You guys mind if I sit in?”
 “Not at all” Barry said with a smile.
 “Oh! Yes, please! You’ll get to see me in action!” Wally smiled at me and I laughed.
 “I just have to make a few calls first” I told Wally, his smile didn’t falter a bit.
“Calls?” Barry frowned at me.
“Yeah, I’m actually looking at some apartments,” I explained myself, “You know, so I don’t have to stay here all the time. I mean, no offense but this isn’t exactly a five-star hotel” I mused.
“But don’t worry Wally,” I looked at Wally, “they won’t take long. I just need to double check with the apartment guy,” I rambled on, “I’m heading over later today to check out a couple places and I need to make sure I get there on time.”
“No problem,” he enthusiastically told me, “as long as you finally see me run–maybe even phase!”
“Don’t get too cocky now” Barry joked in a not-so teasingly way. Wally could care less, him still gleaming, but I narrowed my eyes and frowned a bit at Barry.
“You know what we should do?” Asked H.R., “We should concoct some simulations to help Wallace learn this new skill” he turned to Cisco.
 “What do you say, Francisco?”
 “I got one word for you: quebracho” Cisco responded.
“Let’s go!” Said Barry.
 “Quebracho!”
After securing a time with the apartment guy, I walked into the room everyone else was at. Barry, Cisco, and H.R. stood watching Wally run laps. I stared at the yellow lightning in amazement. Then, Wally came down and ran to the wooden wall. He crashed into it and everyone else gasped.
 “Oh, Christ” I said.
 “That hurt like–” Wally started.
 “Like you ran into a giant wooden wall? Cause you did” H.R. told him.
 My walkie-talkie made a static sound, I listened in as best as I could.
 “And it’s not just any wooden wall,” Cisco told him, “that’s double-reinforced Quebracho”
“Hey, uh, guys?” I looked up at them, “I’m sorry, Wally, but I gotta go, crime scene.”
I pointed at my wallow-talkie and grabbed Barry’s arm before dragging us out of there. I saw Wally’s face drop from frustration to disappointment.
 “I’ll be back! You can do it, Wally! Good luck! Just–try like–vibrating I don’t know!” I did my best to motivate him.
 I heard a muffled 'thank you’ as we walked out.
 “Hey, slow down, you know I can just run us there?” Barry stopped me.
“You sure you won’t stop at Jitters for a snack and make us late again?” I teased him.
 “Yes, I’m sure” he teased me back, “besides, you’re the one who wanted to try my drink, I just grabbed a snack while we were there”
“Hey! For your information 'The Flash’ was very delicious and I’m glad I got a taste of you,” I winked at him and he turned a rosy color.
 “Just hop on my back and let’s go” he laughed.
I smiled excitedly and motioned for him to bend down. I hopped on and he told me to hold on before running off, with me on his back, giggling like a child.

Iris had died 3 years ago and Barry Allen was still trying to go back in time to save her. Over and over again it happened each day, the team would wait. I would wait for him to come back. Each time he did, he came back looking so much worse than when he went back. One day, I decided to confront him about it.
He had just opened his portal and I ran from the cortex down to the portal room. I saw Barry standing in a corner bent over a bar and he sounded like he was crying. I started towards him preparing to comfort him. “Bar-” I began as I was interrupted by another body flying through the open portal. The body slammed into me and we were both thrown to the ground, whoever came through, crushing me. It has to be Iris, no way anyone else is dumb enough to follow a speedster through that thing. I thought. The weight was lifted from on top of me, Thank God, and I slowly opened my eyes to see not one Barry, but two of them standing over me.
“What the hell?” I muttered aloud. “Y/N?” The ‘new’ Barry asked. “That’s my name,” I said standing up and brushing myself off, “Don’t wear it out.” ‘New’ Barry smirked at me and our Barry just glared at him. “Who the hell are you?” He asked. “You’re a time remnant aren’t you?” I asked. Our Barry seemed to have suddenly remembered he could do that, and heaved a sigh. He looked at ‘new’ Barry and then at me with a sad look. “Oh my god Barry, you can’t be thinking what I think you are.” I said. “Well?” He asked. “No. No! You are not going to just kill him!” I shouted and grabbed ‘new’ Barry’s arm and pulled him towards me. “Barry!” Cisco yelled from the doorway. Both turned to face him. “No no, uh, dude you need a new name.” Cisco said to ‘new’ Barry. “Call me Bart I guess.” Bart said. Cisco nodded and turned to Barry. “Meta attack on 17th and Parkhill, it’s pretty bad.” Barry nodded and turned to me. “Suit up Y/N,” and he turned to Bart, “and you stay here.” I nodded and walked over to my suit. “Wait what powers do you have?” Bart asked me. “Mystokenisis.” I smiled as he looked confused. “It’s basically magic. Now please stay here, Barry gets really pissy when you don’t do as told. I don’t want you in the crossfire.” I said and he nodded and walked into the cortex. “Ready?” Barry asked as I walked out with my suit on. “As I’ll ever be.” I said and he ran to the crime scene as I flew close behind.
“Barry! I’m not gonna make it out of here without some help, and you and I both know you’re too busy to come here. Let him help!” I screamed into my earpiece. Before Barry even had the chance to respond, Bart was here in a suit-Barry’s old suit- and was helping me hold the steel beam of the building. “Fine.” Barry said and Bart gave a quick thanks to Barry. Bart held up the bar as I used my powers to try and weld it back together. I thought it was stable and told Bart he could go back to Star Labs and he ran back.
After a bit more punching kicking, getting punched and kicked, I turned to Barry. “Bar, we aren’t going to beat them today, we have to go back.” He looked at me and with sad eyes, he nodded and threw one last punch at the meta he was fighting and turned towards Star Labs. He turned to look at me before he ran and as he did, his eyes went wide. “Y/N! Watch out!” He yelled as he ran to me. That was the last thing I remember before I felt a sharp pain in my back and I passed out.
I woke up in the med bay to shouting in the cortex. “You shouldn’t have left her there by herself!” Bart screamed. “She wasn’t alone I was right next to her!” Barry yelled. Bart and Barry looked at each other with the same look of fury in their eyes. Bart stood up and said, “If you were right next to her she wouldn’t have gotten shot. You should have been there for her. You should have been faster.” After I decided I had heard enough, I sat up and tried to get out of the bed. I pushed myself off the side and when I realized I couldn’t feel my legs, it was too late. I fell face first on the ground and yelled, “Shit!” as the team ran in to help me. Bart was the first to reach me and he picked me up and sat me back on the bed. He looked at my face and saw I had a couple of tears that were streaming down my face. “Hey, hey its gonna be okay. The paralysis isn’t permanent, it’ll be gone in a couple of days okay?” He looked at me and wiped away my tears. “Thank you.” I whispered as I wrapped my arms around his neck in a hug. He rubbed my back and whispered, “Everything is going to be okay. Do you believe that?” I pulled away from him and whispered, “I do.” He smiled and wrapped me in another hug.
Part two is coming soon, if you have any ideas, please send requests! :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It started off as a normal day. For you at least. For Barry every second was nerve wracking. You and Barry had been friends since he moved in with the West's. Barry has been planning something with Iris and Joe for quite some time. He wanted it to be perfect.
As the day dragged on he grew more and more anxious. What if you said no? What if somebody had already asked you? He stood there after lunch just worrying to no end what the outcome with be when someone tapped he shoulder.
“Are you alright Bar?” Iris asked “Yeah, just glorious! Except for the fact that this entire plan could go to crap and (y/n) will laugh in my face or look at me in pity because she found someone better to go to prom with or..” Iris cuts in “Or she could say yes and you’ll realize you’ve been worrying for no reason! You’ll be fine Bar. Just breathe it will all work out.”
 The rest of the day seemed to go by in a breeze. After talking with Iris, Barry realized he had nothing to worry about. You were his best friend. You wouldn’t be harsh or pitiful if you already had a date you would tell him, actually you would’ve already told him. The last bell of the day rung and Barry was off. Iris had gotten out of class early and Joe had it okay-ed with Singh to do this for him. “Is everything ready?” He asked as he reached them, They both just nodded. All three rushed to get the sign out as you would be out any minute.
 In big bold letters in (Y/F/C) said “WHAT’S CLINT WITHOUT NATASHA? WHAT’S STEVE WITHOUT BUCKY? WHAT’S PROM WITHOUT YOU? (Y/N) PROM WOULD BE MARVEL-OUS WITH YOU! WILL YOU GO TO PROM WITH ME?” He stood there holding (Y/F/F) and then he saw you. You walk out with (Y/B/F/N) who notices the sign first so she slaps you on the arm and points. You look over and freeze in shock so she pushes you to him. “Wha-how did you do all this without me knowing!” You were completely baffled. “I worked some magic.” He smiled at you “So what do you say?” he says as he hands you the flowers. You look up and smile. Then proceed to practically tackle him into a hug “Yes yes yes! I would love to!” as you're hugging iris walked to Barry’s other side and whispers in  his ear “See told you you had nothing to worry about” And she was right he didn’t because you said yes and that's all he could ever ask for.
Issues (r.c) part 3
Tumblr media
pairing- rafe cameron x reader (slight barryxreader)
summary - a story on addiction and falling in love
warning - language, drinking, drugs, parental abuse. (18+)
“We had a word with your daddy” Barry states, he waves his hand in the air and the people sat around him get up. You watch them find other chairs away from you, your eyes dart back to Barry who signals for you to take a seat.
You stand with your arms crossed in front of you, brows furrowed and hold your stance. You bring your bottom lip in between your teeth and chew mindlessly.
“You mean you beat the shit out of him” you say, Barry and Rafe smirk at one another and nod. You roll your eyes at them and turn to walk away, they were the reason you looked like this right now.
Anger seared through your chest, hands shaking at your sides as you continue to step away from them, the sounds of their feet following behind you only made you angrier.
“Hey now, don’t leave. It’s not like he doesn’t beat the shit out of you” Rafe says and suddenly you’ve gotten this new found confidence, you spin around pushing your finger into his chest.
He stumbles back slightly but Barry is right behind him, blocking him from falling into the fire pit. Any other day you would have apologised, but not today.
“You’re both the fucking reason I look like this” you scream, your point at your swollen lip. Stepping around Rafe to punch at Barry’s chest. He was expecting it unlike Rafe and stood firmly in his spot, he doesn’t stop you from hitting him.
His brows are pulled together as he stares at you, trying to understand why you would be so upset that they intervened. He expected you to be thankful, practically kissing the floor he walked on. But as he takes in your anger and really looks at the mess your father had left you in, he understands why your acting this way.
“And we will deal with that” Barry responds, you shake your head running your fingers through your hair and pulling slightly. He understands he should have left it, you are an independent women. You hardly knew him, he shouldn’t be getting involved in some random pogues business.
Annoyance floods your veins at how stupid they were, why the hell were they getting involved? Your life didn’t concern them.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?” You yell, you grasp the chair beside you and throw it across the lawn. The only reason you're acting out was because you hadn’t taken a line in a while, that familiar cold feeling was taking over your body.
“You need to calm down” Rafe says, his hand twitching at his sides like he wants to reach out and touch you. You step back from them and shake your head furiously.
“I have to go” you say, Barry steps around you and blocks your path. Your eyes stare hard into his, he searches your face and something clicks inside of him.
“How about I give you a line and you just sit down and breath” he says, your heart hammers against your chest and you suddenly had no control over your actions. Your head nodding before you can say anything, his hand reaching for your bicep and pulling you towards the trailer.
You can feel Rafe hot on your tail as you let Barry pull you along, you would have felt uncomfortable if this was you six months ago. You’d never had agreed to a free line of coke, hell you wouldn’t even look at the stuff.
That all changed when you started exams at school, you couldn’t keep your eyes open. You had been working every afternoon, college was kicking your ass. The only reason you went onto college from high school was to get some sort of certificate, you needed a better paying job to look after the house and your dad.
You made a stupid mistake and now you didn’t think you’d be able to go back.
“Take a seat” Barry demands, his finger pointing to the couch. You take a seat and keep your gaze to the floor. Rafe takes a seat across from you and you can feel him watching you as you pick on the skin around your thumb nail.
"Stop staring" You grunted, your eyes darting up to look him in the eyes. Your brows furrowed together when you notice the smirk on his lips, you wanted to reach over and slap it off him.
"I said stop, are you stupid" You roll your eyes and lean back into the chair, placing your legs onto the coffee table in front of you. Rafe's eyes follow your movements until he hears Barry walking in and they follow him.
"If you don't hurry up I am leaving, I need to ice these bruises" You say, you cross your arms T ightly over your chest. Eyes watching as Barry begins to line the coke on the glass coffee table, your fingers tapping on your knee.
You watch the way Barry's lips twitch into a smirk and he beckons you over, your body moves before you can comprehend and you kneel down beside him. Grabbing a hold of the rolled up note from his hand and lining yourself up.
"Go ahead" Barry whispers, his hand presses against the your lower back and you lean forward. Both Barry and Rafe glance at one another before looking back down at you, you're pulling yourself up and wiping your nose.
"Stop fucking staring" You spit when you notice them both watching, they let out a chuckle and look away. Your nose tingles as you pull yourself to stand.
"I'm leaving, thanks for the line" you mumble, your feet carrying you towards the door of Barry's trailer. You expect them to let you leave instead you hear their feet behind you.
"Stay and party" Rafe calls out, you roll your eyes and turn around. They were following you like lost puppies, you were confused at the sudden need to want you around and wanting to help you out with your dad.
"You want me to stay? after you beat my dad up and then he fucked me up?" You bark, your arms crossing over your chest again and you lean back into your hip.
"Yeah okay our bad" Rafe starts but Barry puts his hand up to stop him from talking, Rafe only rolls his eyes and you can't help the butterflies swarming your stomach as he does so.
Barry steps closer to you and grasps your chin between his fingers, you bite your tongue to stop yourself from shouting at him. You just wanted to leave and go home.
"We will sort him out, now have fun some" He states, you find yourself nodding. Your eyes flicker to Rafe who's brows are furrowed as he watches the two of you.
"Get me a drink then" You say, Barry nods and pulls away from you. His body brushing against yours as he steps down out of the trailer, you look between him and Rafe but make no move until Rafe steps closer to you, his hand pressed against your lower back.
You flinch slightly at the soft touch to your exposed skin, you cant help but lean into his touch as he guides you out of the trailer. You're so confused, you don't understand why you like the feeling of his hands on you.
You and Rafe had never spoken before, you'd crossed paths multiple times. You knew he was Sarah's brother and she never said many nice things about her family. You knew Rafe hated pogues and you weren't like him so you expected him to dislike you.
But the fact that he helped Barry beat up your dad and that he was touching you made you wonder, could he be completely different to the way he was portrayed around the other Kooks?
"Come sit" He whispers, his chest pressed against your back when you come to a stop. Your eyes searching around, the backyard was still full of people and it made you feel uneasy.
Uneasy only because you didn't know these people and because you also barely knew Barry and Rafe. But your bum meets the chair that Rafe has lead you to, it's situated close to his. Your knees brush against one another.
You bring your knees together to avoid the awkward bumping of knees whenever one of you moved. Barry leans over to hand you a fresh beer, the can still sealed up and you mentally thank him.
“I shouldn’t stay too long” you comment, it wasn’t that you shouldn’t it was more that you didn’t want to. It was bad enough you had a coke addiction.
But you start hanging around your dealer and his friend? Now that’s a new kind of fucked up, you really needed to put a line between that.
“I can take you home” Rafe whispers, his eyes trained on Barry who’s leant back in his chair talking to a girl behind him. Your stomach feels funny again and from the close proximity of your bodies his cologne fills your nostrils causing you to go dizzy.
"Okay" You respond, your fingers curl around the can and squeeze. Your brain wracks for conversation, a comforting silence falls over you. Your head leans on the back of the lawn chair.
You're thankful neither of them try to get you talking, they bicker back and forth. Sometimes you comment or roll your eyes, you listen in on the conversations of other people. Soon enough, you're four drinks deep and you're enjoying yourself.
With the alcohol and coke numbing your body, you're more relaxed and you find yourself laughing a lot. Your knee brushes with Rafe's every so often, you don't pull your knees away like before though instead you place your hand on his knee to stop his jittering.
"I lost my job today" You admit to them, both of them stare at you wide eyed and you nod with your lips folded into your mouth. You were tipsy and apparently you were telling everyone your life story now.
"The boss knew I was high, I tried to fight him. Now I have to find another job" You continue, you pick at your chipped nail polish chewing on the inside of your cheeks. "But I'm a pogue, who the fuck's going to hire me" You spit, you squeeze your eyes shut and rub your palms across your face.
"I need to go home, Rafe?" You say, you're already standing and walking away. Your cheeks burnt from your little outburst and confession, now Barry knew you weren't making money he'd realise he was wasting his time by helping you out with your dad.
"Wait" Rafe calls out, he's chasing after you. His hand gripping your bicep and pulling you to a stop. You whip your head around and frown at him. "I can help you find a job" He says before pushing you towards his car.
The voice in your head tells you not to get into the car or to accept help from a kook like Rafe, but you throw caution to the wind and hop in. The door slamming behind you as you clip the seat belt in.
What's the worst that could happen?
