I enjoyed S2 of Beyond Paradise even more than I did S1. The writers seemed to have a better handle on the show in its sophomore season regarding stories and character directions / development. 🧑🏻‍💻 🎞️

Looking forward to S3 in 2025.

Five episodes into Beyond Paradise season 2 shows a series that clearly surpasses the original; Death in Paradise. It is not surprising. We watched the first episode of Beyond Paradise, the spin-off to Death in Paradise, not because we like Death in Paradise, but because we have three children who love it and we needed to make sure it was age-appropriate.

It is such a load of crap. 😂

The most enjoyable bit was me saying, ' You know, that looks a bit like Looe.' just as Mr T said, 'It's filmed in Looe!' I do love Looe. This mess is not Looe's fault.

They have imported all the features that I hate from Death in Paradise - the junior officer who is a local and a bit thick, the feisty female foil to the detective's genius, every crime involves a boat or an architectural gem or a local legend (this episode has all three). If you played Beyond Paradise bingo everyone would get House all the time, it's so formulaic.

It was nice to see Barbara Flynn, and I see they managed to film an episode with Ruth Madoc before she passed away, which I will have to drop in on, because I loved her work. Otherwise. No.
