- She's devious, cunning, reckless, fun-loving, violent but has common sense

- She's Australian

- Their family is neglective, like- they do buy them clothes- basic needs and crap, but othervise they don't even would bother talking to them, not to mention their father

- They have attachment and parental issues, also they can't express their emotion great and freely

- Sees Scrim and Percy as xyr brothers, especially Percy is emotionally supportive and protective of xyr (pls don't get that way i'm not a ped-o diddler)

- They doesn't accepts pyhsical touch, only if she asks for it

- They hade heds and chronic leg pain, they sometimes have to be in a wheelchair

- Scrimshaw teached them how to do their eye makeup

- They often teases Percy about his crush on Scrimshaw but othervise they actually really wants it to happen and very supportive about it

- She's a great artist, likes to draw concept arts and new weaponry ideas for Percy!

- She's an sibling figure to Billie because they're both outcast, can't control their magic and Roxanne doesn't wants the same things happen to them

- They almost never talks about their family, but Percy knews about their parents cause he's the closest person to them

- They are best friends with Banyu, they loves to do most unhinged and dumbass shits with him ( @whosralf's oc!)

- They have social anxiety, they are confident and social with their friends etc but they're straight up refusing socializing and going to/talking in public or an stranger, Banyu talks for them when they need, i think we can call them selectively mute

- skilled at using daggers and swords, Elyass (my other oc) teached her

- like i said they don't like touching if they're not the one who asked for it, so their hug animation is simply shaking their hand politely as a refuse to the offer(like Fanto but expect fanto straight up pushes Billie away with strings lmfao)

I know a lot of Tgcf fans greatly dislike the Banyue Arc (and I understand in the sense that it’s early on that all adaptions really mainly include up to that arc in this point in time and it gets repetitive) but I am actually a decent fan of this arc, mainly because of Hua Cheng, Mu Qing, and Feng Xin all just wearing obnoxiously obvious disguises.

Xie Lian really humored these three.

Hua Cheng is the least offensive of these three. He’s not really actively trying to hide his identity per se. I imagine that he didn’t want to straight up lie to Xie Lian, which is why he only disguised his appearance and then proceeded to be the weirdest person ever. Like mans lowkey waltzed up to Xie Lian and said “Hey bestie, I’m just a good old normal, 100% average teenager who is most definitely not a ghost king or anything like that! Look, I can breathe!“ and then proceeded to info dump a shit ton of information about gods and shit like he’s Wikipedia which a normal, 100% average teenager who is most definitely not a ghost king would most positively not know.

However, our other two offenders actually thought they were fooling Xie Lian, whom may I remind you, is legit their childhood friend. They swapped color pallets and called it a day. And not only did they not try to not act like their selfs in the personality sense in their disguises, they also were just so bad at pretending not to be themselves. Like, someone says “General” in the cave where all the travelers were hiding and they both respond like it’s them being addressed. Idiots.

Also, the three of them just bicker half the time. Mu Qing and Feng Xin just kept yelling that this random nepo-baby Xie Lian picked up was so sus and trying to prove it to him while Xie Lian sits there and tells them to go for it while he snickers internally, knowing the identity of every single disguised person in the room.

These three legit had an argument about whether or not this “San Lang” could drink water. That’s just so fucking funny to me.

Honorable mentions in this arc is Feng Xin getting the shit beat out of him by Windmaster because he somehow was unaware that they swapped gendered forms (which btw, how the fuck did he not know this)?! Also, He Xuan and Hua Cheng just seeing each other in disguises because I wish I got their internal monologues for that.

Tldr: Banyue arc isn’t the best arc in the series, but it still stands as a fairly comedic regardless.

Ranking mxtx couples by whether or not I think they'd be good parents

(I'm 90% sure I'm forgetting someone)

Yep, next question (S)-

Wangxian: tried and tested good dads. I wish them luck with the whole “trying to get wwx pregnant” thing 

They have some shit to work through, but after that I think they'd be fine (A)-

Ling Wen/ Bai Jin: if we're just going off the original publication, I would put them in a much lower tier, but since the revised edition added that thing about them raising orphans together and said orphans turning out alright before unfortunate circumstances, I'm putting them up here. I think they'll be alright once they work through the miscommunication

Xiao Xingchen/ Song Lan: They obviously have a lot of trauma they're working through, but I'd like to think they and A-Qing will be a loving family in the long run 

One of them would be a good parent, the other wouldn't be a bad parent (B)-

Jiang Yanli/ Jin Zixuan: there's no canon reason for me putting them this low. Jin Zixuan just gives off a mediocre parent vibe to me (and we all know Jiang Yanli is the best)

Yushipei: Yushi Huang has good mom energy, and Pei Ming has been shown to be a not terrible mentor. I'd want the misogyny fully beaten out of him with a mace before I'd think he should have kids of his own though 

Lang Qianqiu/ Little Guy: at the very least, they're making sure Guzi is fed, clothed, washed, vaccinated, and has access to education. Neither of them know what they're doing, but I think Little Guy is good at faking it. I wish them luck in their upcoming custody battle  

You know what, surprise me/ I'll hear you out (C)-

Bingqiu: My first instinct is “no, do not bring kids into this,” but then I remembered tharnShen Qingqiu has a surprisingly decent track record? Like, Ning Yingying and Ming Fan both turned out a lot more health than they did in the original novel, and though I wouldn't call him in a good place, Binghe is doing a lot better than Bingge. The wild card for me here is Luo Binghe because I have no idea how he'd be with kids

Quanyin: Yin Yu had a decent track record until he was pushed into snapping. I think rn, he needs a couple centuries of being a babygirl before he's ready to parent again. No idea how Quan Yizhen would do though 

Born to “dual income, no kids, rich uncles/aunts” (D)-

Fengqing: Feng Xin is canonically a bad dad. I know he's working on it, but it is what it is. Mu Qing has been shown to be decent with kids, but I think he’d have a melt down if he had to deal with the mess constantly. 

Hualian: I mean, Xie Lian has raised three kids at this point and one of them became a god, another became state preceptor and then sorta complicit in a genocide, and one became god AND committed genocide + he babysat a ghost king for months and didn't even realize that's what he was because it was a miracle if he remembered to feed him… so, a mixed bag. Hua Cheng may be schrodinger’s child hater, but I'm intrigued by the idea of him raising kids just because I want to know how his own childhood would influence his parenting abilities. They should probably just stick to babysitting for now though 

Mingling: Liu Mingyan is too busy writing gay porn to be dealing with kids, and I just can't imagine Sha Hualing as a mom

Mobeishang: Shang Qinghua should not be put in any position where he has to teach someone about consent (Binghe’s early attempts at flirting being a prime example of why that's a bad idea). I also think Mobei Jun is still working on the whole “why hitting people is not cool” thing. 

QiJiu: I think the original timeline is a prime example of how they're just not in a place to be raising kids 

Jun Wu/ Mei Nianqing: Xie Lian would like a refund on his adopted father figures. They had one kid and he only made it to age 20 because he was cursed to not die

I’m on the Banyue arc, and the sandstorm scene… Oh I can only imagine what Hua Cheng was feeling when Xie Lian got pulled up. The sheer panic at having the person you love with all your being, who you’ve been looking for for 800 years, who you’ve been worrying about for all that time, hoping he’s okay, who he’s finally found again, only for him to vanish right in front of you, pulled up out of your reach. I bet as soon as he saw Rouye, he grabbed it as a fast as he could and let it pull him up to Xie Lian. Yeah, Ruoye might have sought him out, but Hua Cheng definitely had a hand in it too.

And then the scorpion snake scene… the fact that Xie Lian got stung to save him… Oh poor baby is beating himself up.

after things settle, he would definitely extend a hand toward him, if only to give sqx a safe place to lay his head, they're friends after all. he often tries to give him tips, he just worries about stepping on toes and doesn't want to come off holier than though

however, he has competition.

there is also pei ming and ling wen wanting to help sqx. those two were best friends with his brother and helped cover up a huge thing, you think they wouldn't help sqx with all their might? ling wen is drowning with work but she makes sure to always have an eye on sqx. she'll try to sort something out with one of her followers to try to get sqx a job or something. pei ming as well. he always had a tumultuous relationship with sqx but he really did care for him. he makes sure to occasionally visit. since he keeps in touch with pei xiu, he'll often ask him to visit sqx. when pei xiu visits, he always brings something from the rain master

so sometimes when xl visits, a ling wen follower is there as well as pei xiu and banyue are there.

of course, he xuan is still obsessed with sqx

The funniest thing in tgcf is the fact that somehow, qi rong is the best dad. Like. Qi Rong.

I mean:

-Feng Xin didn't even know that he had a kid and that kid is dead.

-Xie Lian says he's going to buy milk, fakes his death and comes back centuries later without the milk but with a new boyfriend and starts to give you life lessons. Also, 2 dead kids (Banyue and Lang Ying).

-You all know what Jun Wu did.

-Mei Nianqing: also went to buy milk, spent centuries away crying about his ex and painting. -10 points for not fighting fot xl's custody.

So, yeah. CONGRATS TO QR FOR BEING THE BEST DAD IN TGCF!! HE FINALLY WINS SOMETHING!!!!

Qi Ying and Feng Xin: *has no idea what’s going on*

Hua Cheng: *supplies the materials and praises/flirts with Xie Lian 24/7*

Shi Qingxuan and Banyue: *helps but makes a mess*

“Mu Qing is too logical for his own good” is such a real problem that he deals with and as tragic as it makes his life I also think it’s really funny when someone is accusing him of something and instead of telling them to shut up or leave him alone the first thing he does is pull out the 95 fucking theses detailing every single thing wrong with their argument WITH historical evidence and additional considerations from scholarly psychology articles, MLA format works cited and completely annotated.
