I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I can't help but think how much the "murder" of Xie Lian by a hundred people in TGCF book 4 is like a veiled rape. Xie Lian is immortal and can't die, but he is in pain. He was tied up and had his immortal body used against his will, despite his attempts to resist. His body was stabbed with a sword over and over until it was like a sieve. It may not be rape in the strict sense of the word, but damn, it's some new kind of torture that I didn't even know existed before reading the novel. The knowledge that something is being done to you while you cry and beg for it to end is terrifying. Regardless of what exactly is being detailed
