#Balthazar/Sam Winchester

I'm doing another readthrough of the Sam Winchester/Balthazar duology just for fun. It's such a rare pair and there's so few people to talk about it with that I that I thought I'd let y'all know in case you wanted to join me and/or send me asks about it.

I know it says "part 2 of series" but the fic before it is just in the same universe, and isn't nessicarry reading for this one. I'm going to borrow @wisteria-lodge's decription of the fic here:

It starts with Season 6 Sam attempting to deal with insomnia, Lucifer hallucinations, and Hell ptsd. Balthazar checks up on him, and it goes from there. Hard Limits is a complete story at 46K, and Soft Limits is about twice that. Dean and Cas are important, but exist as mainly off-screen characters. They're engaged (or technically I suppose Vessel!Jimmy and Dean are engaged, but Cas sees it as the same thing.) Hard/Soft Limits was originally written as a companion to a Dean/Cas/Vessel!Jimmy fic which was decently popular, but the Sam one is honestly much better.

Don't know if that sounds interesting to anyone, but I thought I'd share in case anyone felt like giving the rare pair some love.

Unpopular opinion - Gadreel's attempt at redeeming himself was way better than Castiel trying to redeem himself by trying to fix things in season 6 by swallowing the souls in purgatory and working with Metatron in season 8.

Also, I'm still bitter that Dean never found out Castiel let Sam out the panic room or that the angels changed the voicemail. Balthazar should've been the new angel on their side.

Balthazar calling Cas Sam’s boyfriend and then saying cas is in love with Dean a few episodes later is kind of funny bc I like to imagine he knows Cas is in love with (at least) one of these motherfuckers considering how much he’s willing to do for them but it’s always “Sam and Dean” when they’re not directly in front of him so he can’t quite figure out which one.

was there ever any reasoning for killing of the funny angels in the show…like what was gained from killing Balthazar, ignoring the lore about betraying cas in his edgy god era. I know he appeared on and off but I mean seriously…unsinking the titanic cause he hated the movie and cause the Celine Dion song made him want to smite himself is hilarious and should warrant more screen time.
