percy had shared many nights with the dead of whitestone. time had put their ghosts to rest, distanced grief until it became a remote acquaintance. it was often more complicated than that, but there was a certain catharsis in sitting with lives passed. there was more to feel than helplessness, connections to be found. he had wandered to a memorial, shrouded in starlight & memory.

he had spent many nights here, too. pondering the stony visage of vax'ildan, bound by the threads of fate he now wove. rarely did he find the gall to step foot in the temple of the raven queen. this did not stop him from paying tribute to her champion, his friend. sometimes, percy still got angry thinking about it. how She had plucked vax from his victory, denied him the rest of his life. but that was beyond them now. there was no room for that anger in his heart anymore, especially not with his son before him. there were new lives to be lived.

" danny, dear, what are you doing out so late? " percy places his hand on danny's shoulder, announcing his presence. percy wasn't sure if danny had heard his approach, but the touch was meant to draw him from whatever train of thought had led him here. percy already knew. the world seemed more whole when connected to lives past. danny knew this best of all. his spine stiff & his words are awkward, but sincere, " you'll catch a cold. "

I'm knitting in the corner at a party

and guys my age stop by to tell me I remind them of their aunt, of their grandmother. This is a compliment and I take it as such. They confess to having tried crochet once, and I smile. They get back in line for the bathroom.

I'm knitting in the corner at a party and a queer woman sits on the floor next to me, arranges her skirt, and smiles up at me. (I try not to blush.) She asks me all the questions on her mind about my craft and I answer them, hands still moving. We swap yarn sources. She doesn't stay, but she knows where to find me.

I'm knitting in the corner at a party and everyone knows where to find me when they need a minute, when socializing is too much and the music is too loud and they need to catch their breath. They pretend to be checking in on me, which is sweet, but I can see the relief in their eyes the moment they stop performing for a house full of people. They sit down and tell me things and all the while they never take their eyes off my hands.

The party has wound down and I'm still knitting and the hosts, two guys in their twenties, thank me for "helping to curate the vibe." I had no idea that's what I was doing. I leave the party having forgotten to drink anything and without that woman's number but with many rows added to my top-down raglan sweater. I call it a night, and a good one.

this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)

the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)

all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)
