If I ever got into anymore serious conversations about politics with my family I might start screaming and biting and I think I'm valid for that

You are not ACAB. You're an asshole
SO this post has been a long time coming and I have sent a rant to several people to look over it for me just so I could get opinions. And most agreed with what I had to say. However it was mean, callous, and too "I'm ok being an shithead" for my taste.
If I am being 100% honest, people hate cops just to hate cops. It's not because there are cops that do wrong. It's just because they are told to/programmed to hate cops. Ok, so why do I say that?
Well a few reasons.
For the past 40 years *minimum* it has been a point of the media to showcase any time a cop does anything bad. Because what better way to "Reach the people" than to assuage them with a "Hello fellow Americans. Doesn't it suck with cops get on our ass about stuff".
Social media has been using bait for years in order to get more traffic to more links and articles. This alone has made rage baiting as an entirety more of an issue.
Because of both of the above, there was a time when alt media *at the time* and social media worked in tandem to constantly show off instances of cops being assholes or outright doing things that were illegal.
So what does this mean. Well it means that you are under a notion that is already provided to you. "Cops are ruthless bad guys that don't do anything for anyone at all".
Except that's not even remotely true. What is true is that often, any positive stories involving cops is buried or glossed over and only ever talked about in very local reports. What's more a cops job is to do the right thing. So when a cop does do the right thing, the understanding is that they are not meant to receive praise. However, that is lopsided in how it works. It more or less means that you are under the LARGEST of microscopes, and if you fuck up at ALL, then you end up as a youtube video that reinforces that "Cops are bad guys" or "Cops are stupid and annoying". Rather than the truth which is that cops themselves are human beings.
Now. I can already see the comment from the shitheads. "ACAB EXISTS BECAUSE-" Shut it. I don't care. Unlike most of you I understand nuance. And more than that, I've had poor run-in's with cops. I have also had to work along side them as private security as well. And my mother, who's not shy about telling people they fucked up, worked as Dispatch and as a Secretary for the PD in the small city we lived in. "Oh well then your brainwashed", you can say that but it does not make you right.
Unlike you, clearly I'm able to think critically about subjects where as you are not. Am I a "Back the Blue" cultist? Absolutely not. I'm solely in the camp of Abolish Unions and hold officers to account for what they do wrong.
However, having said that, Cops duty to uphold the law sometimes manifests in ways that we don't like. Like Uvalde. The cops were in their rights to stop the shooter, but the top brass would have decimated any officer that decided to not follow his order of standing down. I don't think that's ok. Hell that entire chain of command should have faced a lawsuit. But where they DID properly enforce the law, is stopping parents from going in. Because had a parent gone by cops in order to stop the shooter, at that point, it legally could have been considered vigilantism.
Regardless of the moral implications of that, fact is, that's the truth.
So why am I making this post? Mostly because ignorant people exist in this world and their only reason for living at all is just to hate. "All cops are bastards"? Are you so sure? I wonder how many people in the US over the past 100+ years have been saved by cops. I wonder how many kids have been rescued from abuse. I wonder how many women have been saved from rape. I wonder how many kids have been save from gang violence or drug dealing.
Saying, "All cops are bastards" is no different than saying, "Yes all men". Functionally you are saying the same thing. And while you may say, "Hey that's not the same one is an immutable trait and the other is a job", to which I'll say, sure. Except you are making a gross generalization. Which IS the same. And ignores every single decent, good, great cop that exists out there. And every single good cop that has ever existed.
In my last post talking about this, I stated that people that are ACAB don't really hate cops. They just hate that they can't break the law without consequences. And I still believe that, but let me add a bit of nuance to that.
Most of the people that hate cops are programmed to hate cops. Because, like the media does, it picks something that will engage you, and will put it in front of you any way it knows how to. There are also a lot of people out there that hate cops because they can't break the law. That's also very true.
However there is another group that exists and it's Anarchists. Now, I have followers and people that I follow that are Anarchists. And while I view them as different from Tankies, Fundamentally they share the same, "Ideal Utopia" idea. Which is that, "Under my ideals, the world would be better". Except it won't be. It will be warlords and dictators forming groups. Assuming that we don't get taken over by Islamic Extremists, China, or the UN. Their ideals aside, they hate "The State" in all it's forms. And if you are fine with any form of "State" they will quite literally go off on a tirade of why you are a bootlicker. *Sigh*
Now, the last of these groups is just people that either 1) Do not understand what goes into being a cop and just hates them based on baseless notions, or 2) People that have had bad run-in's with cops and take that notion out on ALL cops.
So for these last two sets, things are difficult to deal with. Because they will go out of their way often to not care about how hard it is to be a cop. What do I mean?
Well for starters, cops are expected to be perfect at all times.
Perfect Aim
Perfect knowledge of all laws both federal and local
Tumblr media
Perfect judgement at all times
Perfect execution of force at all times
Perfect response at all times
Perfect awareness of surroundings at all times
Perfect ability to listen to the law but also not piss off people breaking the law
And I could go on. Humans are fundamentally imperfect. They always will be. So expecting a cop to be perfect is like asking your SO where they want to eat every day for a month and them knowing right away. Unless you're a LIAR it's not going to happen. Same such, cops can't be perfect. Combine that with having to both uphold the law AND be sure to follow the law at the same time, then combine that with the dangers of the job, the fact that human beings are ANIMALS that are violent by nature, and unpredictable on top of which, with use of force laws. And yeah. You don't have a good time. It becomes a huge issue of people that are like, "Why didn't just just tase him?" or "Why didn't you just shot the gun out of his hand" or better yet, "He only had a knife and was threatening to kill someone. Why'd did you have to shoot him, you are not judge jury and executioner."
And that's where you are both right and wrong.
Right in the fact that they are not a Jury. Wrong about the fact that they are not acting in their capacity to judge a situation, and execute those that are too great a risk to subdue. And if you ever talk to a person that does MMA, subduing a person is not as easy as you think. More over, Tasers are not considered, "non-lethal". In a lot of cases they are considered lethal because you are delivering a shock, meant to incapacitate someone. Meaning that you have the risk of permanently injuring them, OR killing them if their heart stops. Hell you could also in theory turn them into a vegetable.
But sadly no one considers all of these things. And only people familiar with cops and how their jobs work, know any of this.
Am I justifying bad, or even evil cops with this post? No. I think cops fundamentally need more training. I also think that they need frequent psychological evaluations to see the effect of the work on them. Because some of the things you see in your capacity as an officer can be gruesome. Dead bodies. People that have been mutilated. Dead kids from drugs or gang shootings. And the list goes on and on and on.
Recently I made a post talking about how since the summer of 2020, there have been less good cops. And fact is, because of the 2020 riots, a lot of good cops did quit their jobs. That's a fact. Many actually put in for early retirement. And not because "They were being held to account". No. It was because they were told, "If you do your job, we will riot outside your station. Firebomb your cars and homes, and we will find a way to railroad you into prison".
So what do we see in NY and LA? Car break ins. Looting. Beatings in the streets. Cops that will literally stand down while people are being hurt. Why? Because why the hell would anyone be a cop when you are under a microscope SO LARGE, that even the SMALLEST twitch in the wrong direction could end your career and possibly your life.
It's easy to say, "Yeah I'd stop those looters and assaulters". Sure. Right up until the are a protected class. Then enjoy your media crucifixion, loss of work and likely stint in jail. As well as your family getting death threats for years to come. So given all this, I made a point that a lot of hires over the last 3 years have probably been scraping the bottom of the barrel. Because in truth, knowing all the above, why WOULD anyone be a cop? Certainly there are still good cops. But a lot of the good ones quit.
What's more, Now a days it's better as a cop to just NOT enforce the law. Because why risk everything I mentioned. You protect the law and you make the conservatives happy but piss off the woke. And the woke currently more or less control law and media. Good luck getting shanked in jail. If you don't uphold the law, you piss off people who want you to enforce it but you probably get to live another day.
At that point you may say, "OK so why be a cop at all then", and the answer is easy. It's a job. And it pays. Why excel at all when you are expected to be a bastion of perfection? What's that? Didn't use the PERFECT amount of force? Death Penalty. Oh? You shot a guy that pulled a gun on you and you didn't just take the shots to the chest? Well clearly you deserve to be put in jail for the rest of your life.
Cops are treated like they are supposed to be absolutely perfect at all times and it's stupid. I HATE police unions mind you. But you know what I hate more. People that have no idea the risk to their lives that cops are put through day to day just for putting on the badge. The fact that cops NEED wiggle room within the law in order to enforce it.
Remember "Hands up don't shoot"? Yeah. So do I. I also remember that it was a fucking lie, and that there are people to this day that still believe that lie. And if not for Police Unions, he might have rotted in jail for the rest of his life. There is no PEFECT in this life. Not for cops, not for anyone. Cops are not superheroes. They don't swing in on a web shooter and punch the bad guy JUST hard enough to knock him out without killing him. And with morality as fucked up as it is in the west, even just in the US, Law enforcement is in a no win situation. At all times.
But I want to find every person that has ever been saved by cops, and force you to tell those people that all cops are bad. And tell them about how whatever they were saved from doesn't matter because "ALL cops are bad". Tell the women that were possibly saved from rape, "You should have just been raped. Cops are all evil." Or tell the kid that was saved from the person that kidnapped them, "Yeah no, you should have just been a sex slave. Cops are bastards and clearly they didn't WANT to help you". Stop making assessments about ALL of any group of people. Because the likelihood that you'll be right is near zero.
There are good cops. And there are bad cops. Police Unions need heavy reformation. Accountability needs to actually be able to happen. And people need to understand how hard cops actually have it. All of these things can be true at the same time. And none of it is justifying evil or bad cops or even ones that don't enforce the law. It's a nuanced topic. And as such, it should be treated so.

I have like this idea so here me out: DMC 4 Dante x Fem reader where due to the fact that her family does not like Dante she left/ ran away to be with them but after there maraige she became pregnant but then she needed (was forced) to go to a family event (she has not seen them in years) and unleashes the fact she is pregnant with the grand daughter of Sparda (by mistake and Dante is not there)
Oh yes!! Here ya go and enjoy 💜
Badass baby (DMC4!Dante X Fem!Pregnant!Reader)
A few years ago, you attempted to introduce your boyfriend, Dante, to your parents. Their reactions were very dramatic, to say the least. For some unexplainable reason, your folks hated Dante the moment they laid eyes on him. They were glaring and staring him down all throughout dinner, and the second he left, they pulled you aside and told you he was trouble, and that staying with him was folly. Naturally, you disregarded everything they said and continued to date him, secretly.
Then one day, somehow, probably by spying on you, your parents discovered you were still with that "loser" and attempted to force you to cut contact with him. Your response? To run away with said "loser" and get married at 2 A.M. at Devil May Cry with Lady as your witness and Morrison as best man. The next few years that followed had to have been the best years of your life. Both of you were happy, truly happy, as you were glad to be spending so much quality time with the loves of your lives, with absolutely no one to get in your way.
Your joy only grew into elation the day you discovered you were pregnant with Dante's child.
"The grandkid of Sparda!" Dante had shouted, lifting you into the air and spinning you around. "And more importantly, my baby!"
It was clear the two of you were ecstatic over the discovery of your pregnancy; more than eager to become parents. You debated whether or not you should tell your family the news, just to screw with them, but Dante advised against it, saying that "those pains in the ass don't deserve to know", and that it'd be better to raise your child without their interference. You agreed, and all was well, until Dante left for a mission and your parents showed up on your doorstep all on the same day.
Without Dante around to guide you, you didn't know how to respond to them, and were easily pressured into going with their demands. They wanted you to attend some stupid family event at a relatives house for reasons you didn't care enough to remember. Since you were a complete, fumbling doormat without Dante as your backbone, you gave in and let them drag you off to their dumb gathering, though you were tense and afraid the entire time.
When you got there, you were overwhelmed with a whole bunch of distant, unimportant relatives whose names you never cared enough to remember. The swarm of people, as well as your domineering parents, urged you to socialize some more; to mingle and get to know everyone there. You refused, attempting to withdraw to another room or perhaps hide in the corner, but your eagle-eyed parents sought you out and forced you to talk with the others. You were understandably terrified out of your mind, as well as filled with a sense of loathing for those who brought you here, making small talk a very difficult thing to do. Your quivering nerves, pressured mental state, and general anxiety caused you to spill too much tea when your mother, in an attempt to keep the conversation going, asked how your personal life was going.
"Doing fine, I guess. I just found out I'm pregnant." You blurted out, without thinking. You'd only just realized what you had revealed when your parents exploded into thunderous rage. The sky and ground appeared to tremble under their fury; the wind outside picked up and the clouds deserted for fear of their anger. You were quickly reduced to a trembling, teary-eyed wimp within seconds of their outburst.
"WHAT?!" They screeched, in unison. "THAT DEMON-SPAWNED MANWHORE GOT YOU PREGNANT?! HOW DARE YOU?! HOW DARE YOU ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN?!" You honestly didn't have words. What were you supposed to say anyway? They already despised Dante and you, for running away with him. Nothing you could do or say would change their minds, making you question for the first time why they'd even brought you to this gathering in the first place.
As you turned to the other people in the room, your parents' true intentions came to light. Nearly everyone within a 20-foot radius of you was filming everything with their phones, wide grins on their faces. It seemed you were brought here to be humiliated, one way or another.
Tears of shame and anger now streaming down your face, you stood, turn, and ran, not stopping until that insignificant relative's insignificant house was out of sight.
Dante came home a few hours later and found you crying in your bedroom, wrapped tightly in a blanket.
"Aw, baby," He sighed, slowly shuffling closer to you. "What happened?"
"Nothing," You lied, failing miserably at it.
"Don't think you can trick me, sweetie," Dante chuckled, lifting you into his lap. "Now what's wrong? Pent up stress ain't good for the baby."
"I...well...my parents showed up while you were gone--I don't know how they found our address. They kinda scared me with their sudden appearance and without you...I'm like a mouse. I caved. I couldn't help it."
"What'd they make you do?"
"Go with them to this dumb family gathering in the middle of nowhere. Everything was so sudden and I was so nervous...I kinda revealed my pregnancy without thinking."
"Aw, baby," Dante sniggered, kissing your cheek. "Why are you crying about that?"
"Cause afterwards my parents started screaming at me and everyone was filming, and I bet they're gonna post it online and--" You were cut off by Dante, who forcefully shut you up with a firm kiss to the lips.
"Shh, don't worry about any of that. So what if they know? So what if they post it? You're gonna give birth to the most badass baby in the world and they got the honor of being the first to know."
That was true. Dante's words, combined with continuous kisses, served to cheer you up almost immediately, and even when you saw the video of you shaking while being shouted at swimming around on YouTube, you didn't care. Your mood wasn't affected, because you knew Dante was right; those people should have been honored to be among the first to hear you were pregnant with a soon-to-be badass baby.

Some of my Astro placements and how they manifest
Tumblr media
Chiron 4th house:
This placement talks of a wound surrounding the family and home, and well, I would often search for a home because no where to me felt like home. I still feel misunderstood and out of place, BUT, I have made deep and valuable connections that have helped guide me and make me feel the love I should have had. Not to say this placement is completely hopless, it’s beautiful and it’s real and it’s tough, but you come out stronger. I use to hate that fucking perspective too. Like okay??? Who gaf if I come out stronger I’m fucking suffering, like why didn’t I get the parents everyone else has? Why’d I have to walk on eggshells? I felt like my anger and sadness was invalidated because I didn’t feel strong. I felt worthless and disorganized. I was a mess and I still am. Idk if that’s ever gonna change tbh, but despite all, it’s true. You DO come out stronger. In every aspect I have. Home is your people it was never a place, home is your mother cradling you for the first time in a while, it’s your friends taking care of you when you’re sobbing. Home is your dad realizing his mistakes and apologizing. Home is a feeling, it’s refreshing and comforting. Home was never suppose to be stressful, or feel like a war zone. To whoever has this same placement I feel you and I love you.
Mars in Aquarius in the 5th house
I do things unconventionally and I only realize this when I’m with other ppl. It can be as simple as the way I eat my burger, to my taste in music. Which is everything. I like literally everything. I don’t care the genre. If it’s good and catchy I love it. I did a lot of different hobbies as a kid too? Like taekwondo, dance, soccer, painting, singing, writing. But I never stayed long in any of those hobbies. Loved anime which ik everyone likes these days but where I live and during my childhood it was still a bit taboo or considered weird to watch. I was the kid that got along with everyone at school too. I didn’t see the point in highschool having a social hierarchy of popularity. It’s fucking stupid. I remember this one kid in my class who everyone thought was weird, which from their perspective I understand because he liked to talk about taboo topics that everyone thought was outrageous, but I was enjoying conversing with him because his perspectives were fresh and built my own views and opinions. I also have a 5th house stellium and I just fucking hate anything that isn’t fun like. I can’t do the 9-5 I have to enjoy my life like this society was not meant for the way my brain works istg.
Lilith 8th house
Constant comments were made about my body when I was young. From good to bad to what the actual fuck are you saying to a 12 year old. No cause it still happens and I’ve learnt to deal with it, but it has greatly affected how I view myself, my sexuality, and my comfortability with it.
Sun and moon in Gemini
I got the worst of both worlds wtf is this?! Considering my chart is 60% air signs you’d think I’d be use to it but I’m notttttt. I try to stray away from the stereotypical “Geminis intellectualize their emotions” but it’s true we do, but I think it’s cause feeling our emotions are overwhelming. Geminis ARE emotional. There’s just so much going on that my brain decides “I need a solution to this now cause feeling is pain” also hate that I’m not consistent. Consistency is my worst enemy, it doesn’t agree with me and my behaviours and we have an ongoing tense relationship, so I don’t finish anything. Not the books I wanna write or the paintings I wanna finish. Working on it tho 😭
Jupiter in Leo in the 11th house
I know so many people, and the friends I’ve made feel like my soul family. We’re siblings at this point. (Also rlly love the spotlight. What can I say I’m an attention whore)

The scene with Rory and Logan at the beginning of "Gilmore Girls Only" stood out in a recent Season 7 rewatch.
Logan has been reeling from his failed business deal for a while at this point. In the previous episode, he missed Lane and Zack's baby shower to go to Vegas with the LBD on a whim. Rory is concerned about how he is handling the situation and is visibly agitated, but she doesn't press the issue. Then Mitchum arrives and demands that Logan show up at work so they can figure out to handle the financial loss. After this, Rory says "far be it from me to agree with your father, but you have been kind of irresponsible" and essentially takes Mitchum's side. Logan's response is, "I expected a little support here," and Rory's iconic line follows: "Logan, I love you, but I'm not going to support every stupid thing that you do." Rory makes it clear that she isn't upset with Logan because he failed, she's upset because of how he's reacted to that failure.
The writing doesn't bring up this parallel directly, but it's all an interesting callback to late S5/early S6 when Rory experienced a setback and distracted herself with a major destructive choice (stealing the boat) and socializing with Logan and his friends while avoiding her disapproving parent. It seems like Logan views support in a relationship as standing by the other person and not pressuring them to take action. He embodied this way of thinking when Rory wasn't in school and seems to want Rory to do the same thing when he's had a setback, but they both end up remaining stuck until someone confronts them more directly.
When Rory voices her disapproval, she does so because she cares about Logan and wants to see him doing better, but Logan perceives it as disloyalty. Rory's actions here mirror Jess's "Why did you drop out of Yale?" in S6 (which in turn, as many have pointed out, mirrors Rory's "You are way stronger than that, and I don't even want to hear it" in S2). In S2, Rory didn't know all the details about Jess's childhood that likely set him up to have a cynical outlook about his potential, and in S6, Jess didn't have the whole story about why Rory left Yale and why she was struggling. However, that missing information did not stop either Rory or Jess from unabashedly telling the other person that they could achieve more anyway, and they both act on this encouragement, in the long run in Jess's case and almost immediately in Rory's case.
Rory has interactions like this with other people, too. In "A Tale of Poes and Fire," Rory visits Paris in the midst of her crisis over not getting into Harvard (and after Paris humiliated Rory on live television, no less). After a few minutes of being quietly supportive, Rory assertively tells Paris, "you, my friend, need a life plan, so here it is," and gives her practical directions for moving forward. This isn't so much inspiration (like what Rory and Jess do for each other) as it is a command, and in the next episode, Paris is back to her ultra-organized and authoritative self. Rory matches the way Paris communicates with others, and it ends up being an effective strategy for supporting her. (Paris, however, sticks with her own communication style when Rory doesn't want to go back to school, and it isn't convincing for her.) Then there's all the times Rory has been the voice of reason with Lorelai.
There's a lot of talk about Logan's character development in Season 7, and he is shown as a loyal and supportive partner on multiple occasions, but his core character flaw of trying to escape reality through amusement and adventure (and getting defensive when someone points this out) is also featured. Rory is pretty ambivalent about their relationship when she's in the car with Lorelai and Emily in this episode, and she later tells him when he flies to Mia's wedding that his grand gestures aren't going to make her forget their problems anymore.
So are Rory's actions here effective? Logan reflects on why he reacted to losing the investments the way he did and decides to quit his father's business, and he spends the next few episodes eager to strike out on his own, but we really don't know how he's going to handle his next disappointments. Rory also faces some disappointment at the end of Season 7 after she turns down a job offer to take a risk on the New York Times fellowship (with Logan's encouragement) and isn't accepted, but after a little bit of wallowing she bounces right back. There's at least hope under the Season 7 pen that Logan can grow past his old patterns until AYITL shows him once again embracing escapism while ultimately intending to stick with "the dynastic plan."

cherry valance rant bc GOD cherry hate infuriates the shit out of me i need to let this out
made smth like this before but it was so incoherent lmao, im aiming for this one to be a little better worded/constructed. literally just gonna be a whole rant defending cherry/refuting common counterarguments i see
im being so genuine, can yall tell me a GOOD REASON why you hate cherry. every single reason i hear is so stupid, all of her actions that make her "hated" are incredibly understandable if you had just taken a moment and tried to imagine what it was like given her situation.
a good example would be "she didn't visit johnny in the hospital" :: johnny killed bob: cherrys boyfriend. johnny is her boyfriend's killer. name one person who would wanna go see their partner's killer. and a counterargument to this i see a lot is "johnny defended her against dally" :: which, yeah, maybe that made cherry somewhat like him a little more, but she had never even met him until the drive in. and, i simply believe someone killing your partner outweighs the one good thing that they did for you.
"being rude to ponyboy" :: socs couldnt really be seen with greasers because it would ruin their reputation, and rep is very important to both socs and greasers. i do agree it might've been a bit selfish, but you have to take into consideration the time period and their situation. this also can apply to the scene in the movie where cherry didnt wave back to ponyboy at school. but, cherry explicitly stated that she probably wasn't going to say hi or wave back, and told him not to take it personal because she would if she could: "you're a nice boy and everything, but we just couldnt let our parents see us with you" bringing back my point about reputation being important. she obviously WANTED to talk to him more, but couldnt due to social expectations
cherry disregarding ponyboy's issues by saying "things are rough all over." if you read the parts whenever randy spoke, you'd know this argument is pretty weak. and even then, she wasn't even disregarding them, she just wanted to give pony a sense that he's not alone.
a lot of this just boils down to trying to put yourself in her shoes; you have to understand where she's coming from. i've made this point a couple of times within the paragraphs. she's also only 16.
also, i've seen a lot of people who hate cherry also love dally? .. how are you gonna hate a character who's actions are pretty understandable if you just put yourself in their shoes, but like the character who's does FAR worse things, mostly just for fun (jumping little kids, cheating, drinking, etc.)?? talk about hypocrisy... i feel like this lowkey has some misogynistic undertones too but whatever.
anyway, you dont have to like her. like her, dislike her—whatever, just maybe come up with a good argument

I'm probably gonna be yelling into the void but here's my refs of my favorite burs !!!! I would say bursonas but one of them is literally just my au,,,, can you tell which one it is,,
Anyway here's some hcs and stuff it's gonna be a long post LMAO I'm just copying all this stuff from Instagram cause I practically live on that shit ass app
Simpbur
He LOVES Hatsune Miku.. like LOVE LOVES HER. He owns so much fuckin merch it's actually insane. But he has never once in his life listened to vocaloid and probably never will. Hes just in love with Miku LMAO
He's aromantic bc I said so !!!!! But he doesn't know that, he hasn't really figured it out and he confuses his obsession with love.
Him and Jared actually used to be friends back when they were like middle schoolers. But then Jared got "hot and cool" and he kinda drifted away from Simp. Mostly cause Simp was SO FUCKING JEALOUS!!!!! and it was obvious too. Imagine how devastated he was when egirl started dating his old friend lmaooo what a loser
Him and e-girl started dating when they were 17, both of them were in pretty bad places in their lives so they just,,, clung onto each other. Both of them were codependent but Simp was significantly worse with his codependency. Adrianne (my name for e-girl) was the one who broke it off when they were both in their early 20s
His stupid little cat beanie is his comfort item !!!! He wears it ALL THE TIME and hates having to take it off, although he would never go out in public with it. He's got some issues with presenting the way he wants to in public so he literally just goes out in his work uniform regardless if he's working or not
Grabs him and aggressively shakes him around !!! Hes autistic (I'm autistic I can give him the tism) his special interests are anime and video games :33
He's definitely not cishet but he tries SOOO hard to present as such (shout-out to @starrixle for that hc ive adopted it for my version of simp)
Studentbur
He's bi but heavily in denial like DEEP DEEP in denial
He HATES being tall !!! He wishes he was shorter because his height makes him stand out a lot and that's the LAST thing he wants
He prays literally every night before bed. Mostly asking for forgiveness (which he shouldnt have to ask for) because he thinks he's a horrible person just for being himself
He CLINGS onto Charlie, they're not like super close friends or anything but he LOVES Charlie. He looks up to Charlie a lot and WISHES he had his confidence and sense of self :')
He doesn't like Tommy, he thinks Tommy's too loud and disrespectful and hates how much attention he attracts. So he tends to just avoid him even if they're in the same classes
He absolutely regrets smoking with Bill and Ranboo but he also feels INCREDIBLY GUILTY for wanting to do it again (because he actually had fun and was able to relax for a moment)
He LOVES emo rock, indie, modern rock and other similar genres. His parents are really strict so he has to listen to his music in secret and ALWAYS has his earbuds on him, its a comfort item too. His three favorite bands are MCR, Ghost and Radiohead :]
The only game he was ever allowed to play was and still is Minecraft. He LOVES Minecraft but at the same time he desperately wishes to be able to play other games
He fucking LOVES GOING TO PUBLIC SCHOOL !!!!! he used to be in a Christian school but it gave him so much anxiety he was physically ill every single day and he just couldn't take it anymore!!!! To his surprise his parents actually agreed to let him go to public school during his sophomore year and he's been there ever since (now hes a senior)
Charlie is really his only friend, he's tried talking to other kids but he's horribly awkward and socially inept. Charlie basically adopted him and takes care of him like a brother !!!! Even if they're not super close Charlie's always looking out for him and tries to include him with his friends even tho Stu declines most the time :((
Keith Smith
HIS WIFE LEFT HIM AND TOOK THE KIDS TOO 😭😭😭 he's still trying to find her but he's slowly losing hope and he's really considering just giving up
He's basically the "king" of the end, even though he's not actually the ruler, it was his wife. But since she's GONE he basically had to take her place, until he finds a new wife or convinces her to come back if he ever found her (the end is a matriarchy)
He's kind of insufferable why do you think his wife left him
He has two kids, Lune (pronounced like loon) and Sunny. He LOVES his kids and is actually a really great dad despite being kind of an ass and fucking annoying. He misses them a lot and it breaks his heart that he might not be able to see them ever again
Dr. Malpractice
He's a geneticist specifically experimenting with mob/human hybrids.
His experiments are NOT ETHICAL AT ALL!!! He does whatever tf he wants whenever he wants. His only healthy, surviving test subjects are Phil (enderman), Tommy (spider), Charlie (creeper) and Quackity (duck). (He also experiments on my sona,, that I added for funsies,, but they weren't created by him he just happened to find them one day more on that later)
He's actually trying to make humans more powerful in a way, because they're the weakest humanoid species of them all. He wants to "save" humanity from their own biological inferiority and doesn't care how long it takes or how much damage he causes to others so long as he reaches his goal. Because he's fucking delusional and thinks he's doing something good
He even experimented on his kid, Fundy, and he didn't make it. He has a,,, complicated relationship with what happened to Fundy. On one hand the guilt eats away at him constantly, on the other he brushes it off as just another failed experiment since in the long run,, the ends justify the means in his mind
So far his deceased test subjects include Fundy, Niki, George, and Toby (Tubbo). His only escaped subject was Randy (Ranboo) and he's so fucking paranoid that somehow he'd be able to get the authorities to stop his experiments. But it's been months since Ran escaped and nothing's happened so he isn't AS paranoid anymore, but he still worries about it
He names all the test subjects himself, it's easier for him to remember than numbers because he has dyscalculia funnily enough
All the test subjects were made in his lab with stolen DNA so he didn't have to use his own. He basically grew them in tubes and used a rapid growth serum in the tanks to make everyone adult sized since it was easier to run tests that way. He accidentally left Phil cookin for too long so he's the oldest out of everyone LMAO (except for Dr mal himself, he's 37)
Ok so onto the cringe part !!!! cSoda is a shapeshifter, shapeshifters are VERY rare and often hide themselves because they're very sought after to hunt for sport or used for various reasons. They're basically "born" from the planet itself, they grow in pockets underground for many years and kinda just pop up when they're ready. (Think of like. Steven Universe gems but organic) cSoda is erm undercooked let's say LMAO because they popped up early in their development they're basically defective. They age (albeit slowly), their body scars, they can't regrow limbs properly, their shapeshifting is limited to only animals/people they've SEEN before and they are incredibly naive and have a harder time understanding/learning about the world.
Dr. Mal found cSoda (no idea how yet) and he normally wouldn't have cared but he saw their shapeshifting and immediately decided to "take them in". He takes advantage of their naivety and basically brainwashed them into thinking he cares for them. cSoda presents as a dog (more lore I don't feel like getting into rn) so they have the personality traits of one as well, very loyal and loving and INCREDIBLY affectionate. Which Dr Mal HATES.
If it weren't for the fact that cSoda is more useful to him while alive he probably would've just killed them because he's CONSTANTLY annoyed and irritated by them LMAO he wants to be able to replicate their shapeshifting and hopes that it might be able to help him achieve his goal
c!Wilbur
He fucking LOVES working the burger van with Ranboo, it gives him something to do and he actually enjoys spending time with them even after initially not really liking them. He thinks Ranboo is SO interesting and loves to analyze everything he says and does pFF
HE FUCKING. APOLOGIZED TO TOMMY!!!!! FOR EVERYTHING !!! HE WANTS TO DO AND BE BETTER FOR HIM AND HAVE A BETTER RELATIONSHIP!!!! HE LOVES HIS BROTHER SO MUCH AND IS TRYING TO BE BETTER AT SHOWING THAT RAAHH
He fucking REEKS no matter how much he showers or uses deodorant. It'll help with the intensity of the smell but he just reeks of death bc he was rotting !!!! he also smells like cigarettes and alcohol which does mask the rot and is actually preferable by most people (especially Quackity, who's VERY vocal about how much Wilbur stinks)
Tinybur
He's REALLY clingy, like he NEEDS someone to be holding him at all times. Normally it's Tommy (who's so obviously his favorite even tho he denies it)
It doesn't remember being human for the most part but he does miss it, especially being a normal height
He HATES when people baby him, he's a grown man who just happens to be child sized. If you talk down to him he WILL be an asshole
It was surprised when people started referring to him as an "it" but he kinda liked it !! It doesn't have the same feelings about its gender since becoming a doll and he thinks it's kinda weird but cool at the same time. It really is just vibin
It's voice is high pitched and he kinda hates it, its gotten used to it but it doesnt really like how its voice changed
Animatronic!Wilbur
He's so fucking annoying and is always flirting with parents for whatever reason. He fucking LOVES if they get flustered too it boosts his ego
He's SOO jealous of Ranboo its kind of embarrassing. He thinks he should be the lead singer and mascot but doesn't vocalize it, although he does make it painfully obvious
He's the lead guitarist and back up vocalist in the band (Tommy plays keytar, Ranboo is lead singer and James is the bassist)
He's actually really fucking insecure despite being a fan favorite. One time someone left their phone and it didn't have a password so he was able to use the internet which was. A mistake. He's seen the horrors of the Beloved Ent. Fandom and he thinks people only like him because he was made to be the "attractive one" and not because he actually has anything of substance.
He fucking HATES Schlatt with a passion, so he avoids the bowling alley entirely now. Jimmy (solidarity) used to be the bowling mascot but he was too fragile and a push over with guests so they replaced him with Schlatt. Who's nice enough to guests but does have a bit of a temper and doesn't take ANYONES bullshit. Wilbur was actually really close with Jimmy and he misses him terribly :(
Can you tell who I have more brainrot for LMAO

Hey Aerie! I have some questions for your OCs. Is it playing in 2008? Does Elliot have contact to his twin or is his twin an asshole too? How did Rayne's relationship end?? Is his dislike of long blond hair because of his ex? How is Elliott's and Rayne's dynamic? Like how do they act with each other? How do they act in the beginning?
Those are a lot of questions, oopsi
I'm very excited you shared them with us!! Thank you! 🤟🏼🧡
Oh my god someone asked about my guys!!! TWT I'm putting it under the cut because I lost my mind and blacked out and wrote a whole giant response. You don't have to read the whole thing. :')
Okay, yes! The story is set in 2008. Elliot's twin is the person who outed him to their parents. :( The ultimate betrayal by the person he was closest to.
Something bad happens and Rayne's maker (named Laurent and who I will hopefully make an OC Profile for later) sort of… goes very insane and does a lot of terrible things to Rayne. (For instance, cheating on him and gaslighting him and locking him in a coffin.) And Rayne finally decides to leave- while he can. TwT
Also yes! Laurent had long blond hair that reached the middle of his back. Every time Rayne sees hair like that, his heart skips a beat and he turns to go in the opposite direction. Just in case it's him.
Rayne and Elliot! (One hundred heart emojis.)
Well, they're both really awkward at first. Elliot thinks he's stumbled across some sort of homicidal madman in the woods and Rayne is like "No, no, no. I promise. I would never hurt anybody!" And when Elliot clearly doesn't believe that, he ends up blurting out, "I'm a vampire." And he shows Elliot his fangs, which Elliot immediately tries to poke because he's a silly idiot.
But yeah! Rayne hasn't really talked to another person in a long time and Elliot has been basically living in hell since he got to England. During the fight he had with his roommate, he ended up getting locked out of their place. So Rayne awkwardly is like "You could… stay with me tonight?"
Because he's dumb and also because he can't just let this human go and tell everyone he knows he just saw a vampire in the woods! But he doesn't want to hurt Elliot. He just wants him to not blab his secret. But yeah. Elliot is also stupid and agrees. So they go to Rayne's apartment and hang out for the weekend. And Rayne sort of tries to prove that he wouldn't hurt anyone, but Elliot believed him immediately. (Because Rayne is pretty and Elliot is a dumb gay idiot.) But yeah. They become friends over the weekend.
And neither of them wants Elliot to go back to his dorm. But he has to. And then they're both sad and miss each other.
Like instead of Insta-Love, it's Insta-Friendship because they have a lot in common despite being two decades apart. (They both like the same movies and books and music and food.) After a few weeks, Rayne ends up asking Elliot to live with him because he misses him so much. He is starved for attention and social interaction. And Elliot's roommate is actually terrible. So it's a two birds/ one stone situation! And they become roommates who hang out all the time. Then it becomes Romantic a while later! :D
They both like each other a lot, but Elliot was in a shit relationship a couple years ago. And Rayne is still traumatized from his past. So they're both sort of dance around it until one night when their mutual attraction is revealed and they're both like "WHAT? We could've been kissing this whole time?"
Thank you so much for asking me questions about them. I would kill or die for you, Cody. TWT <3<3<3<3<3<3

You know, I'm largely saying this because its a perspective that would have been super foreign to us in the past, but I honestly like to try to be someone who gives the best faith to people when I get the chance and I honestly think, at large, we have enough people in the world with high expectations and assumptions of people to just know everything or figure things out themselves that it's just not productive to those that haven't had it so easily put out for them.
I like to think that most people are dumb (affectionate), stupid (affectionate), and just honest to god confused and just need some help understanding things. And while I agree "you should do your own research and educate yourself", I like to think a lot of people do try that but due to a combination of difficulty understanding the topic and the amount of impersonal, complex language, and missinformation on topics, "educate yourself" is often easier said than done.
And I might go out on a branch and a bit of a stretch to state this, but I do think if you hammer away and expect everyone to "do your own research and educate yourself" or really oversimplify the effort of "learning things yourself" you kind of are largely putting up barriers to understanding to those with learning disabilities and unique and specialized learning needs. And if there are those barriers to understanding and denial of help without stigma, you kind of force people that struggle to learn things to be automatically labeled a "bad person" or a "bigotted person"
But a lot of people don't have resources to learn. A lot of people haven't been educated on a good and reliable way to learn. A lot of people struggle with reading. A lot of people struggle with more standard ways of "learning". A lot of people have trouble understanding social contexts that make it harder for them to navigate the social contexts of what people are saying and ulterior motives. A lot of people have little to no experience with topics related to what they are trying to learn and thus struggle to even fathom it. A lot of these social justice topics are actually very complex and confusing topics WITHOUT any unique challenges / difficulties accessing and understanding topics like these.
And it's why I very much love the "explain it to me like I'm three" statement; cause honestly, its okay to not know or understand things and I think its important to open up interest with the awareness that someone has tried and understands there is probably something they are missing, but can't connect it.
Maybe this is comes from the fact both of my parents that were actively abusive and harmful were both very "stupid" and thus very very harmful to me growing up, but in adulthood, when given the resources and time, it became very very very apparent that at no point did they ever have any moment of malice; they just never had the resources to understand or do better. Maybe it comes from working with neurodivergent kids that need things made more clear and explained to them in a unique way that is meant to help them in specific understand
Of course, this post isn't to say that people HAVE to educate others or that having these difficulties excuses harm done. It's never the victims fault that they were hurt, they never did and never do owe it to anyone to "educate them" to prevent getting hurt.
It's more so just to add some perspective, insight, and nuance to a lot of the social justice topics and a lot of the concept of "educate yourself" cause I think its important to have a lot more of a clear understanding of that in practice to actually help move everyone forward as a group
((And this is not meant to be just about neurodivergence; this is also about class, race, immigrant status, language barriers, environments, trauma and abuse histories, etc; this is a heavily intersectional post and is valid to apply to almost everyone. Learning foreign things is hard especially for certain people in certain situations. If you think it is only about one of these groups, you are missing the point; if enough people are missing the point I might follow this up when I have time))

It's very hard being a snape fan and a marauders fan. I love Severus and I love James, Sirius, Lupin(Peter is Peter and I think it's perfectly acceptable to dislike the little rat) I love how complicated all their characters are. How they not perfect people and they both have done horrible and good things. Part of the blame is on themselves but the school and the adults in their lives certainly didn't. The stupid feud didn't either. I'm of the opinion that you can love both. That James and Severus both did change as people. What's your take on it? Also I find it rather hilarious that Lily and James best friend and person they chose to watch over their son is a lot a like.
Hi!
It's very hard being a Snape fan and a marauders fan.
I definitely think so. So much of both communities; both the snapedom and the marauders fandom is defined by a hatred of another, and though you do get some people with a middle ground; they are few and far in between. as someone who LOVES the snapedom with all my heart, a part of me wants to say that we totally are open with any opinion towards the marauders, but then again I have seen hate comments on many neutral/pro marauder posts, so that would be completely false. and ofc, the marauder's fandom is very much hostile towards any opinion that doesn't fall into their cookie cutter version of perfect(i must admit I am very much biased on that side of the fandom, so).
Personally, I like to think I fall in the middle. I've liked Snape and the potential of his character for a long time, and I like individual members of the Marauders(Sirius and Remus are my blorbos and I will die on this hill). Peter, I really don't have an opinion other than pity. James, well, I'll get into that later on in the post.
How they not perfect people and they both have done horrible and good things. Part of the blame is on themselves but the school and the adults in their lives certainly didn't.
This, a million times. I think everybody, regardless of who you like, can agree that the prominent characters from Marauder's era were all set up to fail. James grew up around yes men, with parents who spoiled him and friends and teachers who adored him too much to nip his arrogance in the bud. Sirius grew up in an unstable home, withstanding abuse and no helpful assistance for his issues(again, the yes men problem). Remus was literally assaulted at age 5, and cursed to become a bloodthirsty monster once a month, with little to no rights and a very diminished sense of self worth(then feeling like he was beholden to dumbledore/marauders for a place at hogwarts and friendship, thus resulting in his cowardice.) Peter idolized friends who saw him as lesser and then was later fighting in a war he didn't have a hope of winning. Lily was a muggleborn with one significant friendship and little to no social status. Snape was an abused, socially disadvantaged boy who got into all the wrong things in the middle of a war. they've all made so many mistakes and done horrible things, but I think you can pinpoint each and every reason and cause for each thing they did.
The stupid feud didn't either.
and ofc, their hatred of each other just added to the shitshow.
I'm of the opinion that you can love both.
absolutely. same. :)
That James and Severus both did change as people. What's your take on it?
ooh, this is going to be fun. ok so:
let's start with snape. 19-20 year old snape is very different from 31 year old snape, and this snape is much different from 38 year old snape. In his teens and youth, he's very much edgy bad boy/kylo ren, with all of the boxes checked, sad backstory, interest in villainy, and that one person who believed in him. he's not as composed or as ... posh, let's say. he's emotional, very dramatic(this doesn't change) and character wise, he's very much evil/grey.
fast forward to late 20s, early thirties snape, this one actually has a life that isn't angst. he gets a kick out of being an abysmal teacher, he's a certified dick, he was batman in an other life, he's badass with an emphasis on ass. i believe this period in snape's life is the least dramatic. he's just living his life. he had all that redemption shit in his past- but no, wait
because harry potter is in town, and though we don't see it, snape's changing. gone is his 'i don't give a fuck' persona; now he's forced to give one by dumbledore and later, voldemort. he's got antihero shit to do, and he does it. he's the plot device now, the one that's evil but not actually. thats him in book one, in book two he's the comic relief/background character, in book three he's the kinda sorta villain- and this is the game changer book in terms of his character. til now, snape doesn't necessarily like dumbledore, but he trusted him. with dumbledore once again supporting the (remaining) marauders, that trust, however feeble it had been, is now gone. which puts him and dumbledore in a precarious position throughout GOF, and an even worse position when voldemort returns.
see, snape likes to think he's very good at pretending he doesn't care/doesn't show his emotions. and though he's right on a superficial level, it's almost comically easy to read him. basically, the angrier he is- the more emotional he is. and throughout the last three books, he's in this weird balance of being oddly guarded and absolutely furious. behind walls of hostility and mystery was a man who's furious, terrified, sad, resigned, and trying his damn hardest to stay alive. he's back to where and who he was at 21 years old, except he knows what he didn't know then, and this is the pivotal change in his morality. He used to be a guy who realized that the movement he supported was hurting people he cared about, but now he's becoming a person who doesn't want anyone to get hurt, because he's 37 years old and he's fucking exhausted of lying and killing and fighting for a world that truly doesn't give a fuck. 'lately, only those whom I could not save,' is an underrated line for this reason alone; severus snape wasn't a man redeemed on a hilltop pledging his alliance to Dumbledore to fix his wrongs, he was redeemed more than a decade later, fighting in a pointless war and realizing that if he can't fix his wrongs, at least he can fight against the causes of it.
now james, on the other hand is a totally different bean. I'm not saying he isn't a good guy, but I most definitely don't think he changed, and here's why.
see, james potter is and will always be a good guy™. his world is black and white; where the heroes are like him and the villains are less than. and for the most part, this was never directly challenged. but it was indirectly challenged many times, and i'll talk about the ones that affected him the most.
first: the train scene and Sirius. A boy from a dark family who's kinda uncomfortable with the painfully light ideas he's spewing, but still buying it because the alternative is so much worse to him. James adjusts with this one remarkably quickly, he's a quick thinker, and in his eyes, Sirius is good because he agrees with him. it doesn't challenge him significantly, and besides, he likes this boy, so it's fine. who cares if he's a black. he's sirius!
second: Remus and the werewolf thing. Again, much of the same thing happens, and James still takes it in stride, because it's his friend and he would've died rather than turn on his friend. this is the defining and redeeming quality of james potter's character; he's loyal to those whom he deems deserving of it. and sirius, remus, peter have joined that list. James is a good guy, and he thinks remus couldn't possibly be like the other werewolves, because he's remus!
third: Lily. Lily challenges him throughout their years at Hogwarts- about his opinions, about his character, about his actions. but at the end of the day, she falls in line with his opinions(she cuts snape off), she still is attracted to him pre-7th year, which was when he supposedly changed, his actions(even when they were together, she didn't know that he was still getting into fights with snape). at the end of the day, even Lily affirms James.
see the trend here? james potter doesn't change how he thinks. he just makes exceptions/he rejects the challenge. sirius can't be bad, because he's sirius and sirius is his friend. remus can't be bad because he's remus and remus is his friend. and the same logic applied to peter when he was offered as the choice for secret keeper. his opinions can't possibly wrong because- look, he's right!
this is not me saying james potter was a bad person. of course not! some of the best people I know have this mentality. but he started out a bully, and tbh, best case scenario, he became a judgmental person. that is the farthest I think he changed.
again, I don't think he's a bad guy. teenagers are dumb, cruel people. james potter did bad shit as a teenager, but so did Snape, and as much as we point to his abuse as a reason why, being spoiled and encouraged on despite everything is still abuse, just a different kind.
the only reason I don't like James Potter when I do like Snape is because nearly everything I mentioned was reading between the lines and other headcanons. And even then, though he had the potential to be, he wasn't a dynamic character. he doesn't change, despite every opportunity to do so, and his misbeliefs are affirmed again and again.
At the end of the day, James the character exists to push Snape's character forward. And that isn't a very attractive thing to like.
I find it rather hilarious that Lily and James best friend and person they chose to watch over their son is a lot a like.
Sirius and Severus are both two extremes of the same story, and that's something that's incredibly interesting to explore, but this post is too long already, so I'll stop now. Thanks again for the ask!

ever since they decided riptide was gonna be the promo song for the show, i've seen a lot of takes--it's ridiculous, it's campy, it's 2012 fan-made mv vibes, it's eerie, it's fun, it's stupid, it's perfect--but what it seems like everyone agrees on, is that the only real connection to percy jackson is the title also being the name of his beloved sword. i'm not saying that connection isn't enough by itself.. but i do think we could go a little deeper hehe so let's break down these lyrics, shall we? <3
**Riptide by Vance Joy Through the Lens of Percy Jackson**
I was scared of dentists and the dark
beautiful intro line to get us in the headspace of the literal child that is 12yo percy jackson.. maybe he was scared of dentists, who knows? but the point is that these are the kind of fears that a parent might be there to hold a child's hand through, and percy never had anyone but sally to do that. this line prepares us for just how strong of an impact the loss of her will be.
I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations
this is percy "stands in the corner playing basketball at the school dance" jackson. it's him losing his words when he notices how pretty annabeth is, but it's also an indication of his placement in the social hierarchy of his peers up until this point.
Oh, all my friends are turning green
green with jealousy because he has all the power of a child of the big 3? because he gets granted a quest on like day fucking one at camp? because he's a naturally talented sword-fighter to rival luke? .. or green because he's finally seeing the world as it is through his god-given green eyes? or green like kelp and algae and the tint of the sea as he befriends creatures in his father's domain?
You're the magician's assistant in their dream
i think if you see luke as the magician, with his tricks and lies, you could easily attribute this line to annabeth--i mean he did want her with him in his backwards dreams. he also saw her following him in dreams of the past, and saw her in the dream conjured by the river styx. but!! i think this line could also refer well to luke himself, where the magician is kronos.
Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ah-ahh-ah-ah And they come unstuck
(gonna be real.. i've never known what to make of this line oops)
Lady, running down to the riptide
first, i think of percy running straight for the riptide as a representation of how accepting he's a demigod and a child of poseidon also pulls him in deep into this narrative that has been constructed around him, both in regard to zeus's bolt and also the great prophecy as a whole. but, i think this could also be addressing annabeth, rushing toward percy (water, riptide, etc. you get the picture) and counting on him to take her away from the shore (camp). another option here, if we stick with luke as the person being addressed, is his being called and swept up by the seething rage and indignation that spirals him away from the calmer tides and into the hands of kronos, which....
Taken away to the dark side
yeah, this could very easily be referring to kronos. we can also use it for percy and annabeth both when thinking about the quest that took them to the underworld, which is quite literally the dark side. i also think it could refer to the darker side of the life of a demigod.. by percy stepping up to accept his identity, his eyes are opened to the monsters and manipulative gods and backstabbing (literally) friends and the vague promise of his own death.
I wanna be your left-hand man
oh hello zoo transport oreo sharing "bc you're my friend" scene hehehe also if we switch perspectives this does work well for luke for obvious reasons
I love you when you're singing that song And I got a lump in my throat 'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong
okay stay with me now.. sally pov to percy. like he's up on that metaphorical stage all alone and doing his best and he's gonna fail sometimes but he's singing his own song, the song he was always meant to sing *cries*. another option of this is annabeth looking at percy, who almost always gets the words wrong, but it's so enduring--seaweed brain (affectionate). we also have the potential for annabeth to be looking at luke and saying this, only his wrong words were the path he chose, and the lump in her throat is the pain of watching him betray her trust again and again. along those lines, i think there's also an argument here for the percy @ annabeth pov that i would be inclined to associate with this song... because he loves her and the hope and the trust she carries with her, but he sees the way those beautiful traits of hers make it difficult to see luke for the monster that he's become--right tune, wrong words.
There's this movie that I think you'll like This guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City This cowboy's running from himself And she's been living on the highest shelf
a movie percy would think annabeth would like perhaps? annabeth ran away from home and wound up in new york. before that, she had been basically cast aside to collect cobwebs by her parents. when we meet her at the beginning too, she's very much been set on the highest shelf in the way that she's been set aside despite so desperately wanting a quest. but there's also the case that the movie being referred to here is about luke, who ends up running from himself in the sense that he chooses to stand opposite both his father and the family he created for himself after heading to new york. in that case, there's also the possible attribution of the object living on the highest shelf to thalia, whose tree luke would have looked at every day as a reminder of his cause, but who would have been unable to say anything herself, stuck collecting dust, so to say.
I just wanna, I just wanna know If you're gonna, if you're gonna stay I just gotta, I just gotta know I can't have it, I can't have it any other way
okay talk about percabeth coding.. percy's "annabeth don't" when he thought she was gonna join the hunters. annabeth freaking out after he came back from ogygia. percy printing the picture she sent becuase he couldn't trust that it (she, chb, etc.) was real. "you're not getting away from me, never again." etc. etc. etc. (please feel free to continue spiraling in this vein as i know i will). it's also giving luke and his manipulation tactics tho ngl..
I swear she's destined for the screen Closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you've ever seen, oh
we (percy) support our queen (annabeth). i could get lost in the percabeth of this all, but i also think it's important to go back to a previous pov we mentioned.. sally's as she watches percy go off on his own. and if the she in question is percy from sally's pov, it's his success that she sees, his happy ending, the one she's been willing upon him from day one. there's also the potential of this line to be about sally from percy's pov. he loves his mom and he's proud of her, and he'll do anything to bring her back from the underworld so that she can live the life she deserves.
**
so yeah, ig in conclusion, there's more meaning here than meets the eye :) but also that won't stop me from thinking about my favorite pen sword every time that word is sung <3

Oh oh! I have one for invader Zim! If you don't write for Zim himself please ignore, and I apologize if this is the case. BUT perhaps.... headcanons for Irken reader and zim? Especially if the reader is pretty tall (not as tall as the tallest ofc but like.. average adult human height). I'd like to see what you think Zim would be like especially if he's absolutely head over heels for them on first meeting 🙈
Sure! How could I not write for Zim, lol.
Original Zim Concept
Yandere! Zim with Irken! Darling
Short Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Attempted manipulation, Delusional behavior, Forced relationship, Worship yandere, Kidnapping/Isolation mention, Slight possessive behavior.
Tumblr media
Irken, as I've stated in my Zim concept, aren't the best in terms of love.
At birth they have no parents and are just... thrown into their role.
So Zim with another Irken may start as you just tolerating each other.
However... Irken society has always praised height.
They are normally a short species and even The Almighty Tallest are artificially tall.
Zim may be obsessive with a taller darling faster than one of his own height.
This is due to the social dynamic of your society.
Zim overall is very similar to his original yandere behavior with an irken darling.
Maybe less sadistic, but overall the same.
Zim is Manipulative, Possessive, Attention-Seeking/Clingy, Delusional, and difficult with proper affection.
If you were taller than him then he'd probably also be a worship yandere.
How you could meet is you go to Earth for whatever reason you feel is appropriate.
A mission, being banished, sent to get rid of Zim, Curiosity, etc...
Zim isn't entirely an 'obsession at first sight' yandere.
He'd take a bit more time.
Although he does find himself growing fond of you rather quickly...
A bit too quickly for his liking....
Zim has always been manipulative.
He has a way with words and can be charismatic when he talks.
With you as an Irken his charm is less effective but he still tries.
If you fall for his words and lies is up to you.
There's a good chance you won't, annoying for him but great for you.
Zim would still be possessive.
Now there's two Irkens on Earth and he can drag you into his plans for destruction!
In his eyes you two will be partners in crime.
You'll both destroy Earth, even if that wasn't your plan.
Zim is not very considerate of your thoughts and feelings.
If you want to go outside and mingle with humans, he won't allow it.
Zim hates the idea of your attention going anywhere/to anyone else but him.
He's delusional.
Not only does he feel you "love" him like he does you, he feels you agree with his plans no matter how stupid.
(Not love, although he doesn't know the difference)
Zim is poor when it comes to actual affection.
The concept of love is so strange to him and he already is uneasy about hugs or anything more.
Irkens just don't do that?
He tries to instead show his affection and obsession towards you in other ways.
He shows he respects you with compliments and gifts.
To him he feels it is the best less physical way to express his adoration.
Lastly, Zim is a yandere that thrives on praise.
If you're a taller Irken than him then it just hits harder.
He comes to his darling for praise and melts whenever he gets it.
He doesn't like you out of his sight and tries to keep you in his base because of this.
It's safer in the base anyways.
No need to be involved with those filthy humans.
Zim worships you like you're a gift from The Tallest themselves at times.
He's egotistical himself but he'd worship you for that reason if you were tall or not.
If you were tall then he doesn't mind you taking control of the mission at times.
Irken have a thing for height 🤷‍♀️.
Overall, Zim would fall for a fellow Irken darling. Even more so if you were taller.
Just prepare for his intense and deranged delusions towards you.

Bingo Fill: Hybrids @starkerfestivals
Hi y'all! This is a spinoff/re-imagining of the little blurb + moodboard I did for a different bingo a while back. I couldn't get the potential for this to be a longer story out of my head, so here it is again! You can also find it on AO3.
It’s that time of year again, and this time, he’s old enough to go.
Newly 18 as of a few months ago, Peter Parker is finally old enough to be shipped off to look for a mate. And to say he’s… well, less than thrilled… would be an understatement.
Peter doesn’t want a mate. Eventually, sure, but not right now. He’s fresh out of school, and he wants to move towards taking over his company, not looking for some meathead to marry. He doesn’t see why he should need an alpha (or a beta, though those relationships were decidedly rarer) to take over his company. It’s his company, his name on the building, and yet—
Yet the law is the law. And it’s both his parents' rule and a legal hurdle that he needs a “stable” person of a different secondary gender to assume legal responsibility for his company.
He agrees to go — not that he had much choice to begin with — mainly because he knows that putting it off isn’t going to help him at all. Maybe he can find a hormonal alpha he can mold or a nice beta that will help him at least temporarily, until he can find some kind of loophole or find someone that he really likes.
That’s the only thing he really hopes to get out of this. Something to shut his parents up and help him gain custody of his inheritance; maybe some friends; and of course to have some fun.
What? He’s a young, horny bunny. He has needs. And maybe his recent escapades have something to do with why his parents are so eager to send him off to find a mate, but he’s not too bothered by that. It’s not like it changes anything. If anything, it might work to his advantage. Nothing works better to charm a horny alpha like an omega that’s willing to scratch their itches for them. There was something to be said for the persuasive power of pleasure.
Even with that being said, he's still got some class. He's not going to mess around with just anybody. He doesn't need any diseases and he certainly doesn't need to be with anyone who's only in it for themselves. He's not looking to just fuck around here, either; no, not here. Now he's only doing what he needs to do once he finds someone with a reasonable social status, as close to his own as possible, and a reasonable head on their shoulders. He doesn't need a meathead that's incapable of thinking for themselves but he also doesn't want someone who thinks they're going to tell him what to do. He's not going to tolerate that for long enough to get what he wants.
He's got his work cut out for him, but surely there's someone here who fits the criteria. Someone who he can make melt for with his big eyes, soft ears, and… other charms. If not forever, then for just long enough.
~~~
This is Tony Stark's second year in a row at this stupid program.
His parents didn't care. They had sent him last year in the hopes that he would settle down and find a mate. Instead, he fooled around with basically every other pretty hybrid in the program off the bat and broke most of their hearts, and ended up leaving as one of the only ones left standing without a mate. Oh well. He wasn't exactly heartbroken.
This year, he was told, was going to be different. Namely because his parents kicked him out with a backpack and a duffel bag and made it very clear that he wouldn't be welcome back this time if he came home unaccompanied.
It was unbefitting of a Stark to be so wild and reckless, his father had said. He was a properly educated young man, and a genius one at that – had been through MIT in his late teen years, had already patented a handful of his own inventions. His father knows he's smart, and he knows he's mentally fit to take over his company when he turns 21 next year. But he's not ready, by his father's standards, whatever that means. All because he doesn't want to be tied down to one prissy omega in the first quarter of his life.
Well, now he's out of options. Maybe if he at least pretends to make an effort – one or two high profile relationships and a little less high-profile making out with everyone else enrolled – he'll be able to convince his parents to take him back in. He's got his charms, after all. He's sure he can get some hapless beta or omega to fall hard enough for him to go on a few public dates. All he needs is a connection long enough to get the paps on their scent. And once they figure out his flaws it'll all pan out naturally, right?
~~~
They gravitate to each other within the first couple of days.
Peter first catches Tony's attention because he's with Harry Osborn. And Osborn is… well. That is to say, not Tony's favorite person in the world.
Harry was also here last year at the same time Tony was, but his reasons for leaving empty handed were entirely different. Harry was, to put it lightly as Tony cared to, a stuck up bastard. His parents didn't approve of much of anyone at the program that Harry took an interest in, and that number was already small enough to begin with. And then there was the fact that Oscorp was one of Stark Industries top competitors to contend with, which Tony tries not to think about. He could care less about bringing his parents' grudges with him into the next generation, generally, but Harry made it hard for Tony to even pretend to like him, let alone make any connection that might form new company ties.
But he took an interest in the omega, which was enough to draw Tony's interest as well. Not just to spite Harry – that was just an added bonus – but because he couldn't help but be curious about the only thing in the room sweet enough to catch the alpha's attention, even with his impossibly high standards.
He can scent from across the room that it's an omega, and not just an omega, but a prey hybrid, at that. His floppy brown ears make that quite obvious. Tony's own ears flick at the sight, and the thoughts they immediately invoke. It's not something he has much control over; as a wolf type, and an alpha to boot, his predator instincts are strong. He's never played with a bunny before. Even in today's world, they're often too skittish around predator types, instincts warning them not to get too close. But this one is indulging Harry, a bear hybrid, another predator, and the urge to hunt the omega, the savory payoff that he knows will await if he makes the catch, is enough to keep his attention on the bunny until Harry leaves. After all, this bunny could be the perfect candidate for his little publicity stunt, and maybe even some fun in between now and then.
He stalks the bunny for several hours, long after Harry leaves, and finally makes his approach when he's heading into their dining space for dinner. They're being housed on a college campus that's empty for the summer, so the food isn't amazing by any means, but they do have a staff providing all of their meals for them, which is good enough for Tony, given that he's not exactly a chef himself.
Peter is, of course, well aware that he's being stalked. It's kind of his job to take notice of who's taking interest in him, here, and more than that, Tony Stark isn't exactly subtle. But little does Tony know that Peter is thinking the exact same thing as he is.
Stark may need a bit of… molding, it was true, more than the Osborn boy that had been following him around all afternoon. Peter is well aware of the fact that Tony isn't going to take him seriously. But Tony Stark has his own company – one that is a bit more tasteful than Harry Osborn's, and just distinct enough from Peter's that he's not worried about him being in it for a merger or a takeover. Stark doesn't even seem interested in his own legacy if the rumors are true, let alone in trying to trick Peter out of his.
And there was Stark's reputation to contend with, too. There's no way Stark is chasing him right now as anything other than a game, and maybe in the hopes of a good lay. Peter has no problem with jerking the alpha off a few times if it gets him where he wants to be – out of here, and in charge of his own legacy at the end of it.
That doesn't mean he isn't going to make the alpha work for it, though.
Peter feels the hairs on the back of his neck stand up when the wolf approaches him from behind, but refuses to jump or skitter away from the touch when he feels the hand descending for his back. He doesn't look up, but speaks before Stark fully reaches him.
"About time you decided to do something besides stare. I know I'm pretty, but rumor didn't lead me to believe you were bashful."
If Stark is surprised, he doesn't show it. He slides into the seat beside him, ears flicking. "You're right, I'm not. We could have been in bed by now if I'd come sooner."
"Not a chance. You're not even going to ask me to dinner first?" Peter looks up at him for the first time, taking in the messy dark hair and the evening shadow on his face. His wolf colors are equally dark, black and gray stripping his ears.
Tony cocks his head, that ever-present smirk toying with his lips. "Of course, what am I thinking? That's only fair. What are you thinking, then? Shitty dining hall food, or should we get out of here?"
"Only if you're driving." Peter hates driving, and his parents hadn't let him bring a car, besides. Not that he's going to admit that to Tony Stark – all the better if he thinks Peter demanding and spoiled as opposed to an easy target.
"I should have known you'd be a passenger princess." Tony stands again as quickly as he'd sat, offering him a hand. "C'mon, then. There's gotta be some hole in the wall around here for us to get into trouble in."
Peter just scoffs but takes it, letting Tony Stark guide him out of the dining hall. Trouble indeed, he thinks, but says nothing, flashing the alpha a patient smile when he holds the door open for him and following him to his car. Game on.

Love Lionheart so much. Friday is my favourite day of the week 💝
The last two chapters reminded me why I could never see Ron and Hermione as a couple. Ron is riddled with insecurities, some I could sympathise with: he is the poorest friend, the ´unwanted` son, the ordinary student…but he can also be spiteful and punish Harry and especially Hermione for his own shortcomings. He fought with Hermione because she dared to go with Krum and he was also a prat to Patil and that girl who asked Draco for a dance.
He also acted like Hermione is the prize he can snatch from Draco in their last fight.
All this to say kudos to you for not bashing Ron because I could never show your restraint and compassion ♥️😭 you show all his flaws but you still manage to make him look sympathetic!
Thank you tremendously! It's my favorite day, too!
I really agree that I can't see them working as a couple, and the last chapter sort of gives my thesis for why. They care about each other and they have this great peppery, ornery, needling friendship, which both of them enjoy, but they just don't Get Each Other. Not in the I-think-you're-stupid kind of way, but in the "my brain and your brain are very different coconuts" kind of way. And while they both have insecurities that make them feel like outsiders, they're different kinds of outsider, and regard each other as "insider" in a way that makes them struggle to feel sympathy. Hermione is beloved of her teachers and parents, respected by her peers, an only child, and an obvious star in the making who gets a lot of praise and attention; Ron sees that and thinks, You've got it good. And Ron is a pureblood wizard who knows this world like the back of his hand, who's got a huge family and is instinctively comfortable in social situations and everyone generally likes, and Hermione sees that and goes, You've got it good. And there's friction, because they both think they've got it worse, and in their own way, they're both right.
And they're both kind of nasty about it! In canon, Ron's mean to Padma, to Hermione, even to Harry, and it's almost invariably because Ron Thinks He's Got The Worst Deal. He doesn't see himself as important, so he doesn't realize that he has the capacity to hurt people. Whereas Draco (bringing it back to Lionheart) has always thought himself important, and so knows very well that he can hurt people; he's just... still learning how not to. Because his childhood damaged him in a very different sort of way. But that's the delicious fun of writing for such a large cast — I get to explore so many different ways of being, and of relating to other people, that highlight our leads through contrast.

i have to agree with the anon who ranted about the people of the Caucasus & Central Asia being racially discriminated against in the Russian empire + the Westerners putting the Middle Eastern people in either White or PoC label box depending on their attitude towards MENA in that moment.
i'm from the Caucasus and my US American friend was so shocked when she found out that ethnic Caucasians (Chechens, Armenians, ect) are called "monkeys" and "blackasses" by ethnic Russians and it's even worse for the Central Asians.
but the Westerners don't believe these facts because Caucasians have an extremely diverse phenotype, some may be light brown skinned but others may be really pale.
because of that, the Westerners allow themselves to discuss the people from the MENA nations with less respect and sensitivity - depending on their sentiments and reasoning, i have seen the Westerners call Syrians, Turkish people and the women of Iran either white or brown. the truth is that viewing racial social constructs through the US PoV is stupid.
This is why racism isn't "scientific" or "logical" or any other of the defenses that racists want to use for it, because it's not. It's both fundamentally irrational and shaped by the particular beliefs and prejudices of different cultures and societies. Because western white supremacy has long been tied to the most powerful sociopolitical institutions in the world, there's obviously an aspect of that permeated into everything, but how that shapes up varies WILDLY and the US experience is not at all transferable into a global context. First of all, the modern US was entirely settled by immigrants; if you're a white person in America, you're an immigrant, and that means there isn't an "original" or "singular" white American culture, no matter what racists (again) might like to claim. It's a melting pot of different influences, languages, national origins, etc., and thus "white" in America is more universal than it is in other places. There aren't really fine gradations depending on where in Europe your ancestors came from. If you're white in America, you're white. The end.
This is also the case because modern America was founded on settler colonialism, slavery, and genocide, all of which was deliberately targeted at people of color (Native Americans and African Americans). So as long you couldn't possibly be visually identified with one of those groups, you were safer than if you were. That's why you have people who were ethnically or ancestrally Black, or had two Black parents, but whose skin was light enough to allow them to "pass for white." That was all they needed; the perception that they weren't Black was enough to move them out of their assigned "inferior" place in society, and the 1920s also saw an upsurge of belief in the "extraordinary Negro," or a Black person who was culturally, educationally, and essentially "almost" (but not quite) white. This itself was a concept dating from the 18th century and the first arguments that "some" Black people were "better" or more able to be "civilized" than others, which was often also correlated with degree of skin color and how closely they "looked" white.
All of this construction of racism, and especially anti-Black racism, makes sense because of America's troubled history as a violently anti-Black settler-colonial nation created by European immigrants from all over. But then that obviously isn't the case in Europe itself, where not all white people are created equal, "whiteness" doesn't correlate to perceivable skin color, there are strictly delineated national groups who haven't mixed the same way as they have in America, and there are equally stringent and long-embedded prejudices about who gets access to the most "whiteness," which really means the most power and privilege. The rightwing British press, even after Brexit, still spends a lot of time talking about Those Gross Eastern Europeans (they have had to tone it down because of the war in Ukraine and the decision that Ukrainians are acceptable refugees, but not entirely). There were endless pieces about Poles, Romanians, Bulgarians, etc. coming to "steal jobs" and "cause crime," because Western Europe has always considered itself superior to Eastern Europe, and while Eastern Europeans may look white, they still aren't considered as white, i.e. powerful, as the West.
Likewise, yes, there is the same impossibility of reducing the people of the Caucasus, the Middle East, etc., to stereotypical American binaries of "white" or "person of color." However white they might physically look to American eyes, a fair-skinned Syrian, Turkish, or Iranian person is not white in the sense that either America or the world at large has constructed it. Even if they came to America, they would be subject to other intersectional prejudices (anti-Muslim, anti-foreign, anti-Arabic, anti-Middle Eastern, etc. etc.) that would preclude them from taking part in full privileged whiteness. (Those who are obviously or visibly "ethnic" would, of course, have it even worse.) Therefore, because of the particular regional history and power dynamics of Russia and the Caucasus/territories of the former USSR, Armenians, Azeris, Georgians, Ukrainians, etc. are not Russians and therefore not white in the way that allows them to participate in the top echelons of the power structure, and will always be reminded of their essential "unbelonging." Their physical whiteness doesn't matter; they are still inferior to the ruling class and therefore labeled with the kind of ethnic and racial slurs that are applied to all oppressed or excluded groups. Once again, what they actually look like is completely beside the point, and anyone trying to interpret or understand global racism through the American lens, where it's entirely about whether you can physically pass for white or not, will therefore be wildly wrong.

First of all, THANK YOU for this podcast, I’m obsessed with it and it makes me laugh out loud constantly. Plus it makes me love Edythe and Beau, I definitely have to read their book based on how likable and fun they seem to be.
I was actually just listening to episode where you describe Renee’s power from Edward’s perspective. You note that people are subconsciously pulled to her, and that might be why Bella’s so drawn to take care of her.
WHAT IF though, the reason she often feels in her shadow (describing her as prettier, more charming, more social) is because Bella’s shield makes her NOT affected by Renee’s power. It’d be cool if the reason for Bella feeling jealous or having low self esteem in comparison is because she is the only one who doesn’t feel that charismatic pull. What if it gives her issues BECAUSE she doesn’t quite understand it & thinks her mom has some weird power over people that she herself can’t picture having? She doesn’t experience that pull herself so she thinks she’s just shitty in comparison cause her mom is so beloved that she feels like she’s missing something that everyone else seems to see, so therefore she can never figure out how to make people like HER that way? I just thought it was a fun line of thinking, to think about her parental relationships from the lens of their respective powers combined with her shield.
It might even explain why she vibes so easily with Charlie, because Bella is used to not really experiencing people’s latent mind powers that seem to create bonds that she doesn’t understand (autistic coded Bella for the win). So her and Charlie are just kind of a relief to each other because both of them have quieter/more shielded minds and feel more on the outside of people with stronger latent mind powers/the relationships they fall into from them. They’re both kind of used to seeing social bonds they don’t understand or have a lot of power in, so they feel a kind of comfortable solidarity with each other that doesn’t feel like as much purposeful work to be a part of (autistic coded CHARLIE for the win??).
I love unexplored implications in Twilight so much.
edythe and beau are so fun and we love them so dearly and despite how fucking STUPID life and death is, conceptually, it's a fun and silly ride and I 1000% recommend it!!! and yes I do love thinking about all the vamp/human powers in this universe and I thank you generously for the discourse!! but on the flip side of your theory, I wonder if Bella is susceptible to Renee's gift. after all, Renesmee can get under her shield, so it would make sense that Bella's daughter and her mother's ability can still affect her!!! because in Bella's Twilight narration she never once speaks resentfully about Renee, even in her internal monologue, so I don't think Bella harbors and jealousy or resentment toward Renee. again, she LOVES her mom! they're best friends! in MS Bella tells Edward all about their adventures and bad car singing!
but thinking about Bella being immune is also very interesting; either way, she's finally moving around in a world without Renee and? people are paying attention to her?? what??? absolutely not! Bella did NOT sign up for this main character business she wants to go back to being In That Shadow baby! 10/10 fun theories to play around with. but yeah I highkey doubt Charlie's immunity to her gift, because my mans is STILL hung up on that hashtag quirky girl even all these years later. Renee's gift could 100% explain that one tbh </3 poor guy—shannon
tyvm mulletposting!! (love the url.) and I pretty much totally agree with what shannon said—both the "bella is immune to renee" and "bella is not immune to renee" readings are suuuuper fascinating. especially if you factor in Respirator and suddenly we've got 3 generations of women who are Not Immune to each other and each is the Exception to her mom's power in some way. innnnnteresting
also ngl sometimes I worry that we talk edythe and beau up too much because we enjoy them so much in comparison to edward and bella. everyone make a pact right now that you'll keep that in mind if/when you read L&D lol —G
