BH6 Snippets--2/14/2024

Happy Valentine's and Ash Wednesday! Been sorting through my fics to see which one is the next closest to hitting the next hundred mark, and while I have been working on a couple of mer AUs the winner here is Tekko Obake:

So, real talk, Tadashi had concerns about Hiro. Okay wait that wasn’t really news he always had concerns about Hiro he was his brother and that came with the territory.  Hiro graduating at thirteen and then dedicating his life to causing problems on purpose just ramped that concern up to eleven. Granted he really shouldn’t be concerned, Hiro was buckling down on his big plan to get into SFIT, a rendered-down version of Megabot he was calling microbots, the concept was really cool…it was just that they were a family with middle-class means at best, and some of the stuff Hiro was producing to help with the making of the microbots weren’t exactly within their price range. Which meant Hiro was up to something. Hence why he was tailing his brother on his so-called quest to get a soda, there were sodas at the café and he didn’t doubt that Hiro was heading to Good Luck Alley to get himself more funds for his supplies.  Granted, he didn’t see Megabot…did feel his radar ping when Hiro was joined by a tall skinny guy with slicked-back hair and a dapper look.  Okay this could possibly be worse. Took literally everything he had not to run up to Hiro and yank him back, forced himself to keep tailing, ready to grab Hiro the moment something looked like it was going to go south— Was definitely going to go south, Hiro and the guy had just entered a warehouse that he knew had illegal good traded in.  Listen in at the door, could hear three people talking, probably doing the deal…. Hauled the door open and pointed at Hiro when he heard only two voices.  “You.  You are a dead man.” “Seriously?” Hiro demanded—looked at the skinny guy, indicated Tadashi.  “I told you he has me microchipped!” Skinny guy looked Hiro over, unimpressed.  “Not saying that’s not a good idea, but—” “No buts,” Tadashi said, waving the guy off as he powered for Hiro.  “You—I am so telling Aunt Cass about this you thought when you lost your phone was a doozy—” “Okay wait that was his fault,” Hiro said, pointing at the guy. “Your speed in throwing me under the bus is duly noted,” the guy said.

There's some convolutions in explaining but the gist is Hiro fixed up Robo-Obake and Shenanigans ensued.

I don't mind whump or gore requests, I can write horror just fine including body horror and these are generally something that might pop around on my blog as well. I can also write dark fiction to an extent but I'll decide what I'll add from the request suggestions; say obsessive characters, stalking, murder, and such. Main & general character death is also on the table if interested. I can do suggestive content, but that's about it.

I can write about disabilities and neurodiverse readers.

I don't write smut or NSFW here (see me on @reveitful for that.), I don't write for female characters romantically as of now or female readers. I won't write about animal cruelty, child abuse, abusive relationships, S/A, or pedophilic or consangamory content.

When requesting or generally sending asks please refrain from using fonts (on and off platform.), Colored text, and especially the <s> small text. I'm not going to take a headache to read one, I'm going to delete it instead. I'm low vision and fonts and colored text make me nauseated and are generally eyestrainy and hard to read for me.

When requesting please don't be afraid to describe the reader if there's specific things about them you want to see when I write, add pronouns in the mix if there are specific ones you want me to use for the reader. Don't be afraid to describe the setting and what you want to see in the first place in the fic, this only helps me as vague requests are harder to make. AUs and such are welcomed here.

Special Yet Dreaded Day

It was Valentine’s Day in San Fransokyo. Plenty of couples going about enjoying their day and plenty of chocolate to go around for everyone.

Honey Lemon was excited for today. She giggled as she looked down at the heart shaped box of chocolates she had made for Tadashi. While they had only been dating for roughly five months it felt like it had been longer than that. Either way, she was excited to give it to him.

She made her way for his lab. Though, her smile soon faded as she saw the lab was empty… and there was a huge pile of valentines at the door of the lab.

“He’s not here.”

Honey Lemon looked to the side to see Hiro passing by, holding a box with a ribbon behind his back.

“Where is he then?” she asked.

“Probably at home or something but don’t say that out loud.” Hiro looked around before looking back to her. “You two may be dating buuuuut that doesn’t stop girls from wanting to give him stuff. Considering a tradition us boys follow around here.”

“What tradition-Oh!” Honey Lemon cringed a bit. “White Day.”

“Yep. Cause then he owes them chocolate.” He replied, keeping his voice low. “Besides, today’s something else besides Valentines too.”

“And that would be…?”

“I’d say what it is but it’s not safe here.” Hiro looked at the box behind his back. “If you want in on the secret, come by the cafe later. I can tell you there.”

Honey Lemon was confused but nodded, wondering what it was that was so secretive.

It was a few hours before she could get to the cafe, hoping to get an answer… and to see Tadashi.

“Hello?” She called looking, around. It was surprisingly empty in the cafe despite it being Valentine's day.

“Upstairs.” Hiro called.

Honey Lemon headed upstairs, seeing Tadashi’s friends, Alice and Charlie, going over some kind of plans written on a sheet of paper with Hiro and Kathleen.

Alice looked up.

“Ah, there’s the girlfriend of his.” Alice grinned. “I don’t think we’ve met properly.”

“I don’t believe so.” Honey Lemon smiled. “Akio Miyazaki but everyone calls me Honey Lemon.”

“Ah, cute nickname. I’m Alice, that’s my brother Charlie and I’m sure you’ve met Kit Kat.”

“Alice… Ah! A!”

“Yep.” The two girls laughed a bit. “So, I take it Hiro didn’t tell you anything?”

“No, he didn’t. What’s going on?”

Alice sighed a bit.

“Swear Dashi still has stuff to answer to.” She muttered before perking up. “Today, besides being Valentine's Day, also marks the day that twenty years ago, Tadashi was born.”

“... It’s his birthday?” Honey Lemon gasped. “And he didn’t tell me!?”

“Oh hon’, it’s not you. He really hates that his birthday is on this day. School was especially annoying back when we were in high school.”

“Yeeeeeeah girls would give him double the amount of chocolate and wouldn’t stop trying to please him.” Hiro rolled his eyes. “If I didn’t know any better I would think he had a whole herd of yanderes after him.”

Kathleen shuddered.

“I remember and I swear some of them were psycho…. So, yeah, Tadashi doesn’t like talking about it. So, it’s no surprise he hasn’t told you. I’m sure he would eventually buuuut last I remember, he hasn’t known you or the others very long.”

“About a year, yes.”

“That’s the thing.” Charlie chimed in. “We’ve known since we were little kids. He just probably didn’t want to bug you or make you feel obligated to get him two gifts or something. You’d think he’d like a girl fussing over him but nope… and can’t blame him, given his past history. So, we wind up planning the day so he can avoid admirers.”

“I see…” Honey Lemon hummed in thought. “Is… he here?”

“In the garage.” Alice smiled gently. “I’d go say hi if I were you. I’m sure he’d be happy to see you.”

Honey Lemon nodded, making her way down to the ground floor. Sure enough, Tadashi was there, organizing his medical kit, a bit of a sad look on his face, Baymax standing not too far from the young man.

Honey Lemon walked over to him quietly before speaking softly.

“Tada?”

He jumped a little, looking up, a surprised expression on his face.

“H-Honey. I… I’m so sorry I wasn’t at the lab today.” He gave a sheepish look. “I-”

“It’s okay. Honest. Everyone told me.” She gave him a concerned look. “You okay?”

He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.

“I wish I had been more patient twenty years ago to wait one more day but yeah.”

Honey Lemon shook her head, sitting next to him.

“Some things just can’t be helped… and it’s okay you weren’t at school. There was a huge stack of chocolates that Hiro gladly donated to little kids to eat instead of you.” She touched his shoulder. “I just wish I could make it better somehow.” She looked behind her at the box she had brought for him.

I’m not even sure I should give him these…

Tadashi followed her gaze, giving a small grin.

“I mean… I still like chocolate.” He murmured.

Honey Lemon smiled a little.

“You sure you want these?”

“Hm… Well… are they for Valentines or my birthday?”

“Hm…” She handed them to him. “Birthday. You do not owe me anything on White Day.”

Tadashi gave her a grateful look, hugging her tightly.

“Thank you..”

Honey Lemon hugged him back.

“Anytime… Besides, I don’t charge friends or people I love for chocolate I made for them.”

Tadashi pulled back, surprised.

“These are homemade?”

“Yup and different flavors too. Coconut, dark chocolate, caramel and no peanuts obviously but you get the idea.”

Tadashi smiled warmly, looking at the box before hugging her again.

“I swear you are the best girlfriend ever.”

“Say that after you tried one silly.”

Tadashi kissed her head before taking the lid off the box, popping a chocolate into his mouth. He closed his eyes, sighing happily.

“Mm… Coconut. That tastes so good, Akio.. Seriously, these are the best I’ve had.”

Honey Lemon giggled, blushing.

“I’m glad you like them.”

He smiled, kissing her head again, bringing an arm around her shoulders.

“Thanks again.” He gave a bit of a teasing look. “So, can I say you’re the best girlfriend now?”

“Hm… Ah, what the heck?” She grinned before kissing him right on the lips.

He got a silly grin on his face before kissing her.

They quickly parted, looking to Baymax, seeing an image of them on his stomach before images of everyone else’s contacts were shown.

“And sent.”

“AH!”

“Hiro wasn’t kidding.” Tadashi deadpanned.

Both heard a loud squeal from upstairs followed by the sound of footsteps and soon Alice and Kathleen came crashing down the stairs with Hiro and Charlie right behind them.

“YOU TWO ARE SO CUTE!” Alice and Kathleen said, squealing with delight.

Charlie smirked.

“Way to go Dashi-boy.”

Tadashi blushed.

“Oh, go eat a football.”

“Happy Birthday to you too.”

“Well hold a minute everyone.”

All looked to see Aunt Cass was now present, a cake in her hands… and the rest of the nerd lab behind her.

“Let’s not forget a birthday is not complete without a cake.”

Tadashi grinned, going over to her.

“Thanks, Aunt Cass… and thanks guys.”

“Anything for you, man.”

“Yeah! To another year!”

Tadashi sighed happily before blowing out the candles.

A new year full of possibilities… and no more hospital trips.

“So, what’d you wish for bro?” Hiro asked as the elder Hamada shrugged, bringing an arm around him, ruffling his hair.

“Can’t tell you, otherwise, it won’t come true.”

“Aw come on!”

“Nope! C’mon let’s go back upstairs and eat!”

Everyone headed on upstairs, Tadashi being the last to follow, sighing happily as he entered the living room, seeing everyone he cared about right there.

I wouldn’t mind more birthdays being like this.

Nice and quiet and with the best friends I could ever ask for right here.

So, this is a headcanon of mine and AIleen’s for awhile now, regarding Tadashi’s birthday and wondering what it would be like for him. Alas, it’s a special day but he’s gotta avoid trouble.  Luckily he’s got his friends and his family by his side.
